11 wendy darling, tiger lily & jane darling

11. Faceclaim

This one was hard! In the Disney verse, Peter and Hook have some very distinct and obvious features that I took into consideration when trying to find the right faceclaim, but Wendy, Tiger Lily, and Jane are a little more generic looking in the face. (No shockingly red hair like Disney Pan or Hook’s dark curls and exaggerated features to go on.) Also, I’m gonna give a disclaimer and say that most of the faceclaims for these kids are no longer actually an appropriate age to play them (because I don’t know of very many child actors currently in the appropriate age range). Not 100% satisfied with these, but I tried to do the best I could.

Wendy Darling (child) - Isabelle Allen

She has the right hair and eye color and the sort of delicate, feminine features that Wendy possesses. Also I loved her in Les Mis as young Cosette, so I might be biased but she can pull off an absolutely adorable, sweet, gentle kid.

Wendy Darling (adult, as in Return to Neverland) - Jane Seymour

What can I say? I grew up watching Dr. Quinn and in that show, she definitely pulls off the mom vibes. Very “do no harm, take no BS” which is what Wendy’s attitude always has been. Also she just has the perfect face for it.

Jane Darling - Georgie Henley

Disney’s Jane has more reddish hair than her mom as well as slightly more rounded and tomboyish features. I think Georgie fits the bill perfectly.

Tiger Lily - Jashaun St. John

I definitely wanted to go with an actual Native American actress here, but admittedly, I don’t know of many so my choices were rather limited, but I think Jashaun has the right look for the part. She has the rounded, childlike features and while she’s pretty, she usually seems to prefer to show off her natural look without a lot of extra makeup or flashiness. She has the simple beauty of someone who is naturally confident in who she is.

Summary: Priscillia met Face when he was a fresh faced recruit in the army, her college was next to his base, Naturally, the two got together, they had a summer romance that ended abruptly when Face was shipped off to Vietnam. They cross paths again thirteen years later, so much has changed yet so much is the same. But there’s one huge elephant in the room: Priscillia’s daughter, Marigold.

Name: Tiffany Nancy Joesph.

Fic: Polaroids and typewriters.

Love interest: Amy Amanda Allen.

Face claim: Florence Pugh.

Summary: Tiffany is a freelance photographer, She’s traveled the world to create her art, She gets hired to do some photos for the L.A courier, it should be another job, take the snaps, get paid, Simple. But then she meets Amy Allen, Simple goes out the window.

Name: Marigold Eve Charles-Peck.

Fic: How I met my Father.

Love interest: N/A. (but does eventually marry a man named Issac Lamb)

Face claim: Natalia Dyer.

Summary: After turning sixteen, Marigold Charles sets off to L.A in search of her long lost Father, the man she finds isn’t who she expected and after some convincing, She spends her summer vacation learning his trade and building a relationship with the man who she has more in common with than she first thought.

Name: Phillipa Alison Marsh.

Fic: Older than we were.

Love interest: John “Hannibal” Smith.

Face claim: Carrie Fisher.

Summary: Phillipa has recently gotten divorced from her husband of 25 years, leaving her feeling out of place, her old routine is broken, When her son, George is being threatened by a loan shark, she calls the only people she knows can help, The A Team, She reunites with Hannibal, who she had a breif affair with when Hannibal was stationed on the same army base as her then husband, where she also worked as a nurse.

Everytime I think I like magical realism I find out that maybe I don't while searching for books in the genre... I guess I enjoy magical realism "for women" (is it chicklit? Does that term apply to this genre?). I like the small town with a magical vibe that foccuses on baking or another comforting hobby. Those books are usually not my favourites but I crave them once in a while. Stuff like "Chocolat", "Garden Spells" and "The Stolen Child".
