The Black Iris and The Withered Rose (Mafia Book #2 - Lee Know // Bang Chan) - Story Masterlist (COMPLETED)
Tumblr media
! MUST READ 'THE WHITE LILY' BEFORE READING THIS STORY !
---
Mafia Book #2 is divided in two parts:
PART I - THE BLACK IRIS PART II - THE WITHERED ROSE
---
Genre: MAFIA AU, angst, romance
Word Count:
Part I - The Black Iris - 33.7k words Part II - The Withered Rose - 31.3k words
Warnings: explicit mature content, mentions of death and other graphic scenes (it's a Mafia...), swearing, blood, anxiety etc.
This is just a story that doesn’t describe SKZ members’ true characters in any way. It’s just a product of my imagination and should be treated as such.
This story is also on Wattpad: click here and AO3: click here
A/N: As any other writer out there, I would appreciate reblogs and your comments on this story. Please let me know if you enjoyed it, and most importantly, have fun!
---
Summary
"Chan simply couldn't forgive himself for his stupid actions that brought Emilia's death one year ago, so he did what he knew best: he let his soul die as well, with her, and he focused solely on Stray Kids. He became the most heartless Mafia leader there was, not caring about anything else but building his empire to be able to protect the only people he cared about. He killed, killed, and killed anyone and anything mercilessly, unable to feel even the slightest bit of remorse He would do so with a straight face, for his soul was as vacant as an empty shell. The members knew this all too well, but no matter what they would say or do, it wouldn't matter. The Chan they all knew and loved was too far gone, only a ruthless monster that swore to protect them left in his place. With Chris being so unavailable emotionally, it all fell on Minho to pick up the pieces. After all, he was the next in command when it came to their Mafia."

I hear that you like Microsoft Surface tablets. I'm currently setting one up for my friend, and I'm wondering what it is that draws you to them? I know it's Microsoft's "answer" to the iPad but haven't paid much attention to it since it's release
Oooo, loaded question that one! In truth, it's less that I like Surface tablets and more that there's nothing that does it like them.
The windows tablet market is a hellscape where most of what people use them for is lightweight chromebook note block stuff that requires little to no computing power, so most of what's available from most companies is just kinda meh.
You have tons of Lenovo/Thinkpad stuff that tends to run on pentiums and low power i3s and whatnot, it'll be able to play a youtube video but that's about it.
For higher performance there's like two or three models by lenovo, Dell has a few good ones, you can go the gamer route and buy an asus ROG thingie that looks gaudy and like it's made for 15 year olds, but either way you're gonna be running short on something if you just want something basic.
Gaming tablets are high in power but at that point you might aswell buy a laptop since the battery life is atrocious, the lenovo ones are alright but quite new and hard to get used, and I just dislike dell out of principle because they're a terrible company.
So that means generally the only real answer lies in Microsoft's lineup since they offer sleek but pleasant designs, and their performance isn't so through the roof that you can't use them without wall power, but still good enough to do general tasks and basic gaming which is exactly the sweet spot I'm looking for!
The personal answer here is that the surface Pro series specifically covers a large area of specific things I'd like in my secondary device: Portable, decently long battery life, good performance for how long it lasts.
The main purpose for wanting one is so I can use it to watch videos in bed before sleep on a larger screen, to be able to play basic games when I'm away from home, and as an auxilliary screen to put somewhere on my desk when I need it for other stuff like reference pictures or whatnot.
Having a touchscreen is a godsend there since it's so much easier to operate something with just bapping it with your fingers instead of operating a trackpad, keyboard, or mouse so it's the easiest choice for that kind of "no brain" use to me.
The other issue is price, since most of the other companies only recently jumped on the windows tablet bandwagon they're hard to get used, but surfaces are available online for cheap the further back in generation you go.
Currently I've got a Pro 7+ with an i7-1165G7, 16GB of ram, and 512GB of storage + a 128GB micro sd card installed. The i7 is an 11th gen intel model which means it has the blazing fast iris Xe integrated graphics and anything I can really see myself playing on this thing it handles swimmingly (minecraft, warframe, any game from like 6+ years ago).
Bought it for about 500€ last winter, which is extremely good value for what it is, seriously!
TL;DR: Surfaces are the least bad choice in the tablet/convertible market, they're expensive but previous gen models will still do all you'd ask from one without much issue.

My 3 favourite Java Minecraft shaders
My favorite lite Minecraft shader: Sildurs Enhanced Default
Tumblr media
If you have a computer that isn't super duper powerful, but isn't a complete potato either, this is the shaderpack for you. Its pros are: Shadow support, water looks surprisingly nice for such a lite shaderpack, and because it's lite, it's a fantastic shaderpack option for things like Steam Deck. No real drawbacks except it isn't exactly what you would call a "flex" shaderpack. But then again it's not supposed to be. Also no tinted lighting support, but you really shouldn't expect that from something this lite. That said it is a great option for those on a budget but still want eye candy.
Shader that most accurately depicts my idea of an ideal shader: Rethinking Voxels
Tumblr media
This shaderpack does something better than any other shaderpack I've ever seen. Actually make the light emitting blocks cast shadows too. Sure other shaderpacks do that too, but none as accurately as what I wanted to see than in this pack. Pros are: Light block shadows (duh), looks fantastic, few bugs (there are some but that is to be expected, none of the bugs are deal breakers tho) and bear in mind that this thing is still in Beta. We could see more, better and less buggy down the line. Bear in mind this still doesn't have tinted lighting support, water is still, and if you're an Optifine user, you may run into problems, as this is optimized for Iris, but that's ok because Iris also works with all the other shaders mentioned so... Maybe stick with Iris for this list~
Prettiest shader: Soft Voxels Lite
Tumblr media
I'm gonna be honest and reveal the complete nerd in me... I nearly cried when I saw this shaderpack. This is undoubtedly the most divine looking shaderpack I have ever seen. Playing Minecraft with this is an experience. It's also the most graphics intensive of the bunch, but honestly for what you get, it's not at all bad. Certainly less resource intensive than SEUS, and I'd personally take this look over SEUS anyday. Pros are: So beautiful, tinted lighting that's a delight to look at, lighting is more overpowering depending on what is emitting it (for example lava makes everything burn a deep red) and while it doesn't do light block emitting shadows as well as Rethinking Voxels, it does do them, and it does work in context. Drawbacks are: Water does look a bit funky (if you look closely some parts of the screen can stay unchanged when looking out to the ocean) and supposedly Nether and End support is reserved for the paid version. But honestly, if that doesn't bother you, this is definitely the pack to go for.

Hi, we are the official community of the "Book 4: Air (Restoration Project)." It is a community-made show bringing together pro VAs (from anime and video games), composers, writers (one who wrote promo materials for Avatar: The Last Airbender), sound engineers, comic artists, and more to create a pseudo-Book 4.
Using the official comics as well as original materials to flesh out the story, completely reorchestrated versions of the original soundtrack as well as new music, the project is creating a fully-dubbed and scored motion comic!
We’ve even recreated the Tsungi horn, a fictional instrument created for ATLA using a complicated audio process called “convolution” to combine the sound of a duduk and a trombone. That’s the haunting instrument you hear in the Blue Spirit theme.
Help us make the rest of Book 4, including original content!

Noticed Some Reblogs
Since I been posting here - let me clear up some lies--
I used to write gay comics for men and women’s BL (yaoi.) I came up with the term GloBL back in 2006 for original English language BL because the Euro and North American markets differed from the Japanese market of the time in terms of language and the gender of its creators. (Wiki search it, or google - IDK)
I wrote graphic novels and short comics for Class Comics, Yaoi Press, Sin Factory, DramaQueen, and Iris Print. The explicitness and themes of my graphic novels varied based on the publisher. For example, one pub wanted rape stories, another bought sexy comical stories, another needed something Japanese-like…you get the picture.
I quit writing comics in 2011 and returned to working in television production. I retired in August of last year, giving me plenty of time to focus on fandom and writing original fiction.
My fiction, both long and short, ranges from pornographic to not so; the common denominator being transgressions are afoot, and my characters revel in post-traumatic sexuality.
Though I’ve been candid about Swyers on my blog, my biology is none of your business. No matter what your thoughts are on the depth of my voice or my chromosomes, I go by she/her and have done so since birth.
TUMBLR - PAY ATTENTION:
I’m Jewish and Polish, and if you think my graphic novel Only Words is ‘nazi yaoi,’ I invite you to kindly go fuck yourself. ALSO – if you’re one of those kids that uses the term fetish-y to describe anything that makes you uncomfortable, kindly go slap yourself in the face.
Now. I produced fan comics a long time ago (2004-2006) and wrote some fanfic in 2018-2021 under the name Gynocrat. That term was co-opted by a vile transphobe so I no longer use it.
I DON’T POLICE FANDOM. If you’re an ageist, TERF, or find 'fujoshi' to be a bad word while still using the slur 'Bara' to describe the comics you like, move along -–I’m not your biggest problem.
Also - being "pro-ship" is to be in favor of audience-invented romance/sexual relationships among fictional characters, if you think this means anything else, please go take a reading comprehension course and pay close attention to the lesson on etymology.

can you build a pc for me? i'd like a list of parts and prices, thank you very much!!
Sure, here's the parts list I used for my current PC, which I've been using for about a year now.
Note that I was not a computer engineer at the time, I just built my PC by doing some online research and making some educated guesses based on what I knew at the time. It was all a bit approximate, so keep that in mind. I was also really bad at some things, like assembling my PC, installing Windows, etc.
AMD Ryzen 7 9 3900X, 4c/8t 3.70GHz; 2x 32GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM (OC) 2408MHz; 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD; 1TB 7200RPM HDD; 128GB DDR4-4133 SODIMM; GTX 1660Ti 4GB; Corsair MPC-E RX 480 DDR4-3850 MHz; Intel Celeron 3735U; Gigabyte EXO-RA120M v6; Samsung 960 Pro NVMe (OC); 128GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM; LG ENVY W2419S/T OLED 24″ 4K TV
This is the parts I used for this build. I may have slightly tweaked it when building the next PC, but that's only going to change the case and a couple of processors, for the most part.
Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition CPU; Intel Core i7-10800G7; Intel Z390 Pro WIFI-AC 7260; Intel Z390 Express; Nvidia RTX 2060 Gaming; 16GB RAM; Corsair Vengeance LPX LPX 2133MHz; Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe (OC); AMD Ryzen R9 X5950 PRO 4c/8t 4.4GHz; Samsung 256GB NVMe (OC); Samsung 960 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe (OC); Samsung 860 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe (OC) DDR4-3700 (OEM); Corsair Vengeance LPX LPX DDR4-2933MHz; ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Intel Iris Plus Graphics; Intel X370 Professional; Samsung QX2 NVMe 1TB SATA SSD; Intel X530 Quad Core (OC); Samsung 1TB M.2 NVMe (OC) DDR4-3200MHz
This is the last build I did, but I didn't really mess around with that one, and I'm not going to be changing it now either. It was basically the same as my other PC, with some changes to the processor and graphics card to accommodate the new motherboard design. This motherboard doesn't have the same kind of dedicated cooling setup the others do, but I didn't really like having it open, so I think this is how I want to continue with these systems.
Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition CPU; Intel Extreme Edition 100-Series Intel X540; Intel 10th Gen Whiskey Lake Refresh Processors; Intel QCLK Max Performance Platform; Intel X570 PCH; Samsung P1 NVMe (OEM); Samsung P2 NVMe (OEM); Intel X710; Intel Z390 Chipset; Intel H330; Samsung 960 P-Plus; Samsung M.2 (P) (OEM); Samsung M.2 (PL) (OEM); Samsung QX1 NVMe 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD; Intel QX11 NVMe 1TB SSD; Intel P3700 NVMe 1TB NVMe M.2 (OEM); Samsung P1 NVMe 512GB SSD; Samsung P2 NVMe 1TB SSD; Samsung P3 NVMe NVMe 2TB SSD; Samsung M.2 QX1 NVMe 512GB; Samsung 960 M.2 512GB (P1); Samsung 960 Pro M.2 (512GB; 512GB); Samsung 960 EVO M.2 (512GB; QX1); Samsung 960 PRO M.2 512GB; Samsung 960 PRO M.2 (QX1); Samsung 960P M.2 (512GB); Samsung 960P M.2 512GB (P1); Samsung 960 PRO M.2 1TB (P1); Samsung 960 PRO M.2 QX1 (512GB) (OEM); Samsung 960 PRO M.2 512GB (OEM); Samsung 960 P M.2 512GB (OEM); Samsung M.2 P3 EVO Plus NVMe; Samsung M.2 P2 EVO Plus NVMe; Intel X570 Express; Intel X710; Intel Z530; Intel H270; Intel H370; Intel X99; Intel X299; Intel Z390 Express; Intel Z390 Pro WIFI AC 7260; Intel B250; Intel X570 AFR; Intel Z390 ATX; Intel X550; Intel X5; Intel B45; Intel B55; Intel D1500; Intel Z390; Intel D1546; Intel K1100; Intel B85; Intel B85; Intel QX520; Intel QX32; Intel H360; Intel H370 Express; Intel Z390 (P2/C101); Intel Z530; Intel Z560; Intel Z570; Intel Z575; Intel Z530; Intel Z620; Intel Z640; Intel Z660; Intel Z640; Intel Z740; Intel Z740; Intel LGA 1166
I'm not exactly sure how many of these were actually "used" – like I said, I wasn't really using my old PC for anything, so it was kind of like "ok I guess that'll be the new PC" – but I think these are all the actual parts?
Also if I had known how much space I'd need for the new PC sooner, I would have ordered the SSD's and HDDs in larger sizes. I had planned to get a 1TB SSD for the OS and OS updates + large files (music, etc.), and I went with a 1TB SSD for everything else (including games), since I was worried I might not be able to fit everything on my current drive. I'm not sure if there are performance differences between 1TB vs 2TB drives, and I'm not sure if that will really be an issue for me for now given the relatively small size of my OS and data files.

pros and cons of breathing

by Spideyboop_ghostly666
He had always liked the cold, something about the air washing over his equally cold and pale skin had a calming effect on him. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes, two ice-blue eyes stared into the endless void. Their color was so blueish white that you would have thought he was dead if he wasn't breathing so quickly. Stuck in a fit of panic. ‘Captain Cold never loses his cool, that's like his whole..thing!” he could hear his dear friend Cisco saying if he found himself like this. He breathed in and out and calmed himself before he walked out of the tool room, his signature gun in hand. Although he didn't need it.....

Tumblr media
Geekom is developing a new mini-PC. The Geekom XT13 Pro should dazzle with its cutting-edge connectivity and robust performance. Additionally, this ought to enable the connection of multiple high-resolution screens.
Formally unverified (as of yet) rumours claim that Geekom is introducing a new mini-PC to the market. A respectable assortment of connections and robust performance should allow the Geekom XT13 Pro to wow. There are rumours that the model has an Intel Core i9-13900H. With its fourteen processing chips, the processor can handle up to twenty threads at once. This should make it possible to complete even the most difficult tasks without any issues. Although the two memory banks are already full, a 32 gigabyte DDR4 RAM with a speed of 3,200 MHz is installed; this should be expandable.
Four PCIe 4.0 lanes connect to the main SSD. Should additional memory be needed, a second SSD slot which is limited to the M.2 2242 format and SATA interface can be used to expand this. Additionally, this lowers the data transfer rate. Up to four 4K displays should be able to be used simultaneously because there are two USB 4 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports.
Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, USB 2.0, a 3.5 millimetre audio jack, and an Ethernet port with a 2.5 Gbit/s link speed are also included in the equipment. Soon, the Geekom XT13 Pro will go on sale for about 649 euros, and it will be sold on Amazon as well.
