My handstand has improved a lot throughout quarantine. Probably because I have time and nothing better to do. Today I played with switching my gaze and I practiced outside. My shirt is falling into my face so I have no neck and look angry but I’m not. I’m super happy about it. I am still not comfortable away from a wall even though I don’t use the wall every time I invert. I love playing with handstand, even though I’m no pro. This was such a fun challenge, I learned, attempted new things and got on my mat everyday. Pincha is fun and it’s fun to play with. I love using a yoga wheel when practicing because it gives me that little extra stability and it helped me to learn how to push through my arms to stabilize myself. I have never done this pose before. It’s not easy but it’s fun to try, I will probably have bruises on my triceps like I used to get when I was first learning crow. I tried first having one arm support my knee and the other supporting my hip. Once I got more comfortable I stopped supporting my hip. This is the second time I’ve worked on firefly. The fist time was for a challenge too. It’s hard. I have trouble extending my legs when my hips are compressed so getting my feet off the floor is hard. It also takes a lot of core that I am still working on. I tried using props to help me out. I started with my @feetup behind me to give a little support to my bum, a wall might have worked too. I also used blocks under my hands to give my feet some more space from the floor so I can actually lift them. I also used a bolster behind me to bring the floor closer. Flying warrior is really hard. I’ve never attempted it until today and I just couldn’t get it. I was using a strap to help me but I still couldn’t get my leg up. So I tried a few other versions.
