TTPD is very much giving 2023 summer and “here’s a detailed analysis of what happened when i was feeling insane. all my raw thoughts about how the person i loved the most betrayed me by stealing me of our future, and how that drove me to be rebellious. here’s my hatred of people trying to control me” and so much of what happened with matty and her feelings for him are connected to how joe made her feel. every song about what happened last summer in her life goes back what and who and why of her relationship with joe. so many interconnections.

whereas the anthology is giving pre-2023 and “here’s how what happened with joe made me feel. i felt stolen and i blame you, but i also blame myself because maybe it’s me and my prophecy” and the album ending with the manuscript and her analyzing her past is helping her move forward because she has hindsight feels soooo

So I was scrolling through some old messages and found an. Honestly really interesting concept for an AU which I totally forgot about

AU where Holly doesn't call Joseph about the whole “Jotaro’s locked himself in jail” situation

Essentially the idea is that Joot is sitting and vibing in the jail cell just like canon, however this time when Holly shows up take him back home, he ends up noticing things because she’s now alone and his sole focus. Be it because if his own observation skills or because if Star’s incredibly precise vision, he ends up noticing some things

He notices his mother is paler than she usually is, that she’s having a bit of difficulty breathing, that over all she looks weaker and more strained than she usually is

Jotaro may be terrified of hurting his mother. But he’s even more terrified of leaving her alone sick with no one to take care of her, so it’s enough to get him out of the cell and go home.

And then the second they get through the door, she collapses.

Only it’s the evil spirit which catches her, far faster than Jotaro could have. And despite Jotaro’s worst fears of it hurting her.... it doesn’t. Instead, it just carefully cradles her fevered form and gently gives her to him. Jotaro then takes her to her room, lies her down, and starts caring for her best he can with the Possibly-Not-That-Evil Spirit’s help.

The next days rolls around, in which Jotaro skips school to care for his mom....... only for Kakyoin to show up.

There’s a fight, the house gets more than a little damage, Jotaro goes absolutely ballistic when he realizes they’re getting closer to the room his mom is in, and ends up knocking Kakyoin the fuck out. He also takes out the flesh bud because What The Fuck Is That Why Is It In Your Head Why Is It Going Up My Arm-

Fast forward a couple more hours. Kakyoin awakens to being tied up and very beat up in a closet. A few minutes of fumbling and trying to figure out what’s going on and eventually Jotaro opens the door with a “are you feeling less crazy and murderous now or do I have to knock you out again?”

They talk, both get answers about What The Fuck Is Going On, and realize their best bet of saving Holly is to find Dio, and maybe beat him up if necessary. Kakyoin remembers him having an enormous library and a bunch of other Stand Users around, so somebody was bound to know something about Holly’s clearly Stand Given Condition.

So they’re off. Jotaro leaves his mother with some neighbors he knew she liked and with the  surprising amount of funds Dio had given Kakyoin, they start their journey.

Fast forward a few more hours..... and Joseph ends up getting a call from the hospital. Those neighbors Jotaro left Holly with? Yeah they were really really concerned about her health so she was brought to a hospital which.... you know what fair. Joseph was one of her emergency contacts, and he puts together the possible Stand Involvement so Avdol comes to.

They go check in with the hospital, Avdol confirms it’s a Stand Thing.... and they also learn that Jotaro had left the jail cell but hasn’t visited his mother since she was admitted. So Joseph and Avdol start head back to the Kujo House, and Joseph is prepared to kick his ass for not visiting his mother, offer a shoulder if the kid’s not visiting because Emotions, or both. Plus he also starts planning on explaining Stands and how killing Dio was the only way to save Holly

What he wasn’t prepared for was to find clear signs of a fight alongside blood, because Jotaro and Kakyoin..... didn’t leave the house in the best shape. Joseph then realizes that Dio got to Jotaro before they did, and now is doubly motivated to go and kick Dio’s ass.

So now we have two groups. Jotaro and Kakyoin(and maybe Polnareff) heading to Egypt at a more leisurely pace while trying to learn as much about Stands as they can along the way, and then Joseph going on an absolute war path with Avdol and Iggy 

Bonus points if Joseph keeps using Hermit Purple at the worst possible times and getting Seemingly Not Great photos of Jotaro’s situation, double bonus points if they keep nearly missing each other along the way

Rosie: as much as i love Rosie/Wayne, i feel like they did her right. Rosie likes staying home to read, but she fuckin’ loves rescuing dogs more. she’s a great gal. she’s the only one of the hicks who isn’t ‘stuck’; she knows exactly what she wants and she’s making it happen. she wants Wayne to come with her, but from the delicate way she went about it, she already knows his answer, and she’s not surprised when he finally catches up and twigs.

Thoughts about TADC

Watched the pilot. Several times over now. I became increasingly worried with each watch.

Is this a SOMA thing? What about "I have no mouth and I must scream"?

I don't trust Caine. Literally the guy who invented murder in Christianity. Guy's shifty.

Jax is worrisome. Why the attitude? Has he simply "given up," in the sense of "I'm never getting out of here so I might as well enjoy it"?

Ragatha is sweet, and optimistic, I can see her using that as a coping function.

All in all, I'm interested to see where this series goes.

Random “Wild Blue Yonder” Thoughts (right after a single viewing)

It is really good! When RTD wants to he can hit the ball, well, to this location. Loved the 2nd encounter because I was thinking it was the other way around and that “Edge of Space” bit was brilliant! Loved to see Wilf again (RIP Bernard Cribbins) but really wish we were getting those Classic Next Time Trailers. And having The Doctor have actual thoughts and feelings concerning The Flux? The fact I’m praising bare minimum writing tell you a lot.

The Isaac Newton bit at the beginning was very… why? Getting 14s little moment of Bi-Aesthetic Pleasement(? I don’t know what to call it I just know what it is) was fun but now I’m imagining a short story where 1-4 arrives later and has to explain “no, it should be ‘Gravity!,’ With a ‘G’”

So I had a thought. Jotakak Beauty And The Beast AU but with a...... twist? I guess???

because I’ve seen a lot of them with Jotaro as the Beast and Kakyoin as the Belle, and no disrespect to them but also like........ based on their characters, there’s so much opportunity for it to be the other way round and nobody’s using it

we have Kakyoin who was isolated growing up. He was constantly surrounded by so many people, yet because they could never understand or accept or even see an integral piece of him, it prevented him from forming any lasting bonds. This time he has the additional pressure of being a prince and the social status that comes with it, leading to him growing bitter and lonely and angry, who’s almost completely given up on anyone caring for them. After all, if nobody cared for him before when he was cursed, why could anyone care when he was a monster

we have Jotaro, who we've seen regarded as being attractive and constantly surrounded by women who seek his affections, but because of how shallow it is he hates it. He pushes back, makes it very clear he has no interest, and is regarded as strange and unordinary because of it. He only has a single parent, his mother this time, who probably wouldn’t be very well received by the community because they’re foreigners and not native to the area

I also think it would be funny if Jotaro tried fighting a wolf with his bare hands

Lily: while i don’t mislike her, she’s also a clear foil to Wayne and Katy, and is there to compare/contrast against them. she’s pretty well fleshed out even so, but she’s also just a narrative device, and she fulfilled the function for which she was created. i think it’s weird that so many people on Reddit are reading her as the future Mrs. Wayne Letterkenny, even though he was 1000% not at home to any of her flirtations. she’s adrift while the rest of them are ‘stuck’. Mexico is her Vancouver. while either of those conditions continues to be true, there’s no chance for her and Wayne.

OnlyOneOf's Mill with his solo "beat" (undergrOund idOl #5 / be #5)

After the other two story arcs which definitely felt mature/adult in nature, it's interesting to see OnlyOneOf tackle a more adolescent story here. Thinking about it through, it seems like the stories have been going down in age: KB and Yoojung told a story between full adults who are getting into adult parts of their lives even if they aren't settled in their sexuality; Junji and Rie told a story of younger adults who are experiencing perhaps a first serious relationship; Mill seems to be opening a story of adolescence and the worry and fear that being a queer adolescent can carry in a society that is not accepting.

This is an important story, we see bullying and uncertainty and at the end, a hint of a worse situation. As someone who in my own teens faced situations that this MV reminds me of, it's poignant, striking, and a tiny hit hard to watch, though it certainly leaves me wanting Nine's MV now instead of in a month.

I'm sure I'll have more thoughts later, but right now, I'm satisfied with the song and I think it highlights a lot of Mill's strengths. It's not my favorite of the be songs, it's less my style than some of the others, and I can tell it will grow on me with more listens as I hear more layers.

Still mulling over the depictions of bullying and the interactions we see (and the cameos of the other members). I'm sure I'll have more to say later. Recognizing parts of my own story in the MV is something powerful though, and it makes me wonder if Nine's story is going to involve familial rejection/getting kicked out. Obviously we are seeing some sort of homophobic violence beyond the level of the bullying shown in this MV.

Thoughts on Episode 43

There's so much going on! And Bells Hells are only at level 8! I hope they're okay reaching out to Keyleth and telling her, so Vox can deal with the other things while Bells Hells dealt with a crucial but small component of the Apogee solstice.

I kind of picture the Apogee solstice to be going down this way:

Bells Hells is dismantling one machine, while Vox is going directly against the Mystical, and M9 goes toe to toe against the forces in Wildemounte.

Also, I felt like the Shadowfell was a better option than Nana Morri who sounds terrifying and sketchy.

(Fearne is all: NANA MORRI IS AMAZING AND WARM, and Imogen, for the first time feels what other people feel when Laudna talks to them. SHE'S TERRIFYING, ORYM.)

Plus, I think the cast has forgotten the ticking time bomb that is Dusk | Yu and the Unseelie Court is ACTIVELY trying to kill Calloways.

Imogen is just a ball of anxiety, nerves, and TRAUMA -- she still can't talk about Laudna getting killed and dying because of her. The very, very long pause is just -- PAIN.

Laura Bailey knew what she was doing.

Laudna also seems to be handling her death with a kind of two-step forward, one-step back.

She's voicing her concern about Delilah in a flippant way, but I also notice how Laudna wasn't jumping at the chance at going into the Shadowfell.

I don't know much about it but I think that's where Delilah could be.

But also, Laudna did leap into a portal without thinking, and Imogen, a true ride and die (not ride OR die) jumped in with her, dragging Orym with her.

Also listening to EXU Prime rn, the difference between Orym then and now is vast.

Shithead is somewhere around circling Yios and Pate just wants a Buddy!

If I weren't so suspicious of Pate I'd be sadder for the little guy. Don't worry, li'l guy, Sashimi of Ill Omen might just be around the corner.

Also, Planewalker Ryn dropped them back into the basement when they wanted to be dropped off by the Skyport and immediately landed in a potential killbox situation.
