I have a dumb question, but why aren't any TTPD songs on the Billboard Hot 100? Like, I couldn't find them there. Has the Billboard not updated yet?

TTPD released on april 19 and the tracking week is from friday (12am) to thurday (11:59pm), so it’s sales plus streaming will be tracked from april 19-april 25, and the chart will be posted april 29 at noon. hence, you are not seeing TTPD on any charts right now.

furthered my view about the bolter a little bit. it’s a positive song about herself. everyone talks about how she leaves and runs, but she’s like “actually im valid. let me escape hell” because she sees the bad parts for what they are and she doesn’t wanna settle. it’s the “when she sees the littlest leak, down in the floorboards, and she just knows she must bolt” and “there’s escape in escaping” of it all. she is indeed deconstructing the view of the public while also reassuring herself that it was the right thing to leave all those times. and i love that because one of the things i love about TTPD is how she doesn’t lose respect for herself.

one of the reasons i think we have the bolter on TTPD is because she hates matty for being the who ran away. she’s always been the bolter, but he turned it around and didn’t give her the chance to do that because he left her before she even realized the fucked up game he was playing with her.
