Hc that Andrew buys those jolly rancher hard candies all the time and is constantly sucking on them. Like, it takes him two days to finish a bag, so he buys five bags at a time. He has them in his bags, in his pockets, in Neil's pockets. It's not uncommon to see him pull one out during practice, like, on the court. He'll just loudly unwrap it and plop it in his mouth and tuck the wrapper into his glove or something to dispose of later. Please, I not only desperately need Halsin with a baby, but I also need him to have separation anxiety that he is confused/ashamed at. He's seen so much- he lost his family, the Shadow Curse, he's been kidnapped so many times, he's seen children suffer in the city, he's seen orphans. He's dealt with it well until now but now that he has his own he's responsible for, he's terrified to set them down for a single moment lest they be lost forever

That's heart wrenching, but makes a lot of sense. He also nearly lost Thaniel of whom he'd grown to see as a child of his, so I could absolutely see that situation as an anxiety amplifier. Definitely something he'd need to work through and keep an open communication about.

(Also I headcanon that Wood Elves carry their babies on their backs in wrapped slings so it leaves their hands free to climb trees and hunt and take care of their greenery and all that fun stuff, but also they want their children to grow up with a close connection to the world around them and carry them like that until the kids are big enough where they can just hold on themselves - so keeping the kiddos close is just instinctual for him. I'm just thinking in this thread of someone asking Halsin where the baby is, and he's like: "...They are with me." "No they aren't I don't see them."
