I know this been asked before, but can I ask again? So if you sort your top fav characters or fav ships from to Hogwarts houses, which houses will they be (in your opinion)? Why?
I'm excited to know your answer like for eruri, asheiji, matchablossom, destiel, horimiya, sasamiya, etc.....
Sorry if I ask too much, thx if you want to answer.....
P.s
I asked because just found your post about JJK & BNHA character if they were in Hogwarts houses.....(And I love it)
I'm gonna be honest, I love these - little character head canons, asks in general, all of it. So don't apologize for asking! I hope you always feel comfortable to do so. I also hope all my anons woke up today with clear skin and found money in an old jacket or something. ✨
Tumblr media
Same disclaimer applies as before. Without further ado, to the Sorting Hat!
Starting with the low hanging fruit 🥁
Kojiro "Joe" Nanjo (SK8 the Infinity) - All brawn, questionable brains but unquestionable talent that makes him a big name around "S". This himbo would of course plinko his way into Hufflepuff but, if we take starting S into consideration and how that translates into the wizarding world, I'd say Gryffindor with Hufflepuff underpinnings.
Kaoru "Cherry" Sakurayashiki (SK* the Infinity) - I am conflicted. Cherry, disciplined calligrapher, renowned skater and member of the S founding fathers is very obviously a Ravenclaw. I'm really just having trouble reconciling his superiority and condescension against what I imagine would be more in line with Slytherin. Also supports the notion of every Hufflepuff having a Slytherin bestie haha but, truly, that's adult Kaoru. Teenage Kaoru was rebellious and genuinely awe inspired by greatness (but still whip smart). Gryffindor with Ravenclaw underpinnings. Bonus: Ainosuke would round the trio out as the Slytherin primary, obviously. May have started out sweet like our dear Sirius but live long enough in a family like that and I suppose it'll get you twisted.
Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan) - Levi Ackerman is no stranger to Knockturn Alley. He was raised from the darkness, plucked from its depths to attend school and seemed a bit bothered by the whole to do when he had a perfectly decent operation going, small time stuff of course. A loyalist to those he suffered with, Hogwarts gave him purpose beyond what he could imagine and the Sorting Hat was the first... thing(?) to see his potential. Legacy Slytherin, largely unbeknownst to him, but sorted into Gryffindor assured he'd do great things there.
Erwin Smith (Attack on Titan) - Whew. I know the deciding factor for Cherry was young Kaoru vs. adult Kaoru but Erwin Smith is a Ravenclaw. An idealist, but a bit too cavalier with lives of the canon fodder that made up his command. Incredibly intelligent and dedicated which would make you think Gryffindor but Erwin is an "any means necessary" type of leader. Come to think of it, Dumbledore was a Gryffindor so perhaps there's hope there but I defer to your opinion.
Ash Lynx (Banana Fish) - Self taught genius? Ravenclaw. He had Dino's tutor's for a time, sure but uh... I doubt they taught him how to hack computers. He's a self motivated intellectual frequenting the library for a sense of peace. May the halls of Hogwarts provide that to him in the way the city of New York could not. Does not negate how lethal of a threat he can be, if anything, now this kid is strapped all the time, wand at the ready. I can appreciate if someone thinks he should be in Slytherin but I'm sticking to my initial assumption.
Eiji Okumura (Banana Fish) - This 👏🏾 is 👏🏾 a 👏🏾 Hufflepuff 👏🏾. Brazenly lacks fear in the face of gangsters and recognizes, instead, their inherent humanity and that they can need nurturing and help, perhaps more so than others? Oblivious Hufflepuff energy.
Kyouko Hori (Horimiya) - I feel like Hori is a pretty textbook Ravenclaw but I'd consider Gryffindor with a Ravenclaw primary a la Hermione. Part of me is like... Hori would never be as deep in the shit as Hermione got but let's be for real. She'd follow Miyamura into hell if she wasn't already dragging him there.
Izumi Miyamura (Horimiya) - Considering Miyamura's backstory, I'd understand if you disagree but mans is a Hufflepuff. He had no community, nothing to take hold of. But as its' built around him, he appreciates how precarious it is and holds onto it so dearly, even threatened by Yanagi's immersion into the group. Also, he has so many Hufflepuff moments that are so dear to me. Like memorizing the boys' scents so he can recognize if they've been near Hori despite the fact that it is empirically evident that he's more likely to get stolen away from her by one of the guys. Well meaning simpleton, I love him.
Shuumei Sasaki (Sasaki to Miyano) - SHOUTING Hufflepuff. Don't get me wrong, he's no slouch. Sasaki is straight up fearsome when someone gets a little too close to Miyano but we also know his moral code isn't tied specifically to Miyano. Miyano might have been an indirect impetus to help Kuresawa, but I feel like Hirano validates that Sasaki finds himself in fights regardless of "not being good at them" 👀. Gentle giant and will use his size to the advantage of those in need. I saw a post earlier re: succumbing to Sasaki's rizz and how Miyano is like... god tier for not caving sooner. Imagine if this man had access to love potions 😂 kidding, he wouldn't be the type to use them, even the silly ones from the Weasley's but still. Sasaki + magic would simply be too powerful.
Yoshikazu Miyano (Sasaki to Miyano) - IMAGINE MIYANO PERUSING THE RESTRICTED AREA ON THE HUNT FOR BL. I just cackled aloud at the thought. Then you have hulking Sasaki looming over him drawing attention to the intrusion. Like, "sorry, I'm not seeking out unforgivable curses, just two fictional boys in love." Please. Moving along, Ravenclaw. Easy, and he'd be a Prefect. Sasaki would, of course, frequently be caught using Prefect facilities and trotting along behind Miyano relentlessly. Talk about scary dog privilege.
DESTIEL
I had to break these two away to provide an additional disclaimer to the fact that... these legit stumped me. With 14 seasons of background and the radical character development for both of them, it's hard to pick one house and commit to it for either of them. Especially since they, at different points in their development, are interchangeably fitting into the same houses. I never thought about their development in that way before. Upon my deliberation, please see below. Just know, if you disagree, you're probably right and I probably considered your alternative as well.
Castiel (Supernatural) - Cas spends a great deal of his time locked in his Slytherin era, loyal to an antiquated moral system and acting with impunity which is very much giving Death Eater. But, losing his religion, his direction and beneath the weight of all that presumed obligation is a Hufflepuff. In the absence of a belief system, he begins to consider humanity with an unencumbered curiosity, seeks community with the Winchesters and to help those who are plagued by the Supernatural.
Dean Winchester (Supernatural) - Dean starts out as a Hufflepuff. He's all saving people, hunting things, family business. Intrinsically, does seeking out monsters not meet the immediate criteria of "Finder"? Dean protects family, friends and strangers and, at times, critically balances out Sam's Ravenclaw pragmatism that sends him down weird Slytherin shaped holes (hello, demon blood). This with nothing but an 8th grade education, Baby and a comforting slice of pie. But, as the story progresses, his desperation to protect and keep hold of the people he holds dear pushes him deeper and deeper into Slytherin territory where his individual loyalism can justify jeopardizing the natural order, the fate of the world, anything really as long as he and his brother are both still breathing. Subsequently, his previous impulse to always do the right thing becomes clouded with a bias of the right thing if it doesn't impede protecting Sammy. His willingness to leave Adam to ruin is yet another example of this.
Okay, so I'm noticing a trend here... Do I just like a dynamic of Idiot x Genius (or sometimes nefarious manipulator) or am I just sorting people all wrong? Either way, it feels like I'm revealing wayyyy too much about myself here. What do you think?

As a poc who grew up in the middle east and have family in the middle east and have experienced know the impact of islamaphobia my take on m.c is definelity complicated. He should not have made the comments on the denial of genocide 100% and I'm glad he deleted those tweets hopefully because he understood it was wrong and not simply due to backlash. And I do believe that's the main part that he should be held accountable with
I do think misha has a emotional stake with family/ friends that are Jewish that probably has strong opinions and is also giving out information, working and helping with Ukraine, having the chance to talk to President of Ukraine abt the war, etc whilst Ukraine is still allies with Israel. I do see how that would have influenced his opinion on isreal and Palestine.
I think what's not stopping me from my support or whatever is in general I believe in the intentions and I just don't see the malicious intent. When reading his article it was very pro anti war and very attempted neutral on both parts, made sure to condemn only hammas and not the Palestinian ppl, humanising the Palestinian ppl. (Which is not special take but I do think when america talk abt middle east and war they usually talk about the humans (women are forced to wear hijab and have no rights! Which yea bs) and not talk specifically about the terrorist groups) so I do think that part was crucial and important. I also can appreciate that he replied to a person against islamaphobia in one of his replies. And in his substack which now has 106 comments the majority is in support of Palestine and there's links being shared about either genocide or more information that's currently happening in Palestine so for ppl looking to get informed there's links. So I do appreciate that the comments are not being filtered. And perhaps I am being too generous or looking at cup half full perspective but the positive part that I do see in this is that m.c main fanbase will also be other white fans who when going to look for his article they are being exposed to information.and is also learning if they haven't.
Idk like should he have written an article? No. But he has, and I'm glad he said this part
" Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorism, but when Israel does so by committing atrocities and war crimes of its own, then it defends itself without moral authority and only further entrenches both sides in an interminable conflict where there are no “good guys” and there will be no “winner.”
Like again I'm glad when he's talking negatively about Palestine he specifically talks about hammas and in then in general terms isreal commiting war crimes. I just think it's important that for his fanbase that probably consists of white fanbase that is already been fed from the western media that it is important that it was neutral and humanisation of the Palestinian ppl
And again maybe because I have been in the spn fandom and have been exposed to gishwishes. Allowing them to pay medical bills, and other good things, his open support if the lgbt community I do have a soft spot and perhaps I'm looking at this in rose tinted glasses but i genuinely am not seeing the malicious or hateful intent when talking about the isreal/ Palestine that I see when others talk I.e piers Morgan etc . what I do condem is his comments on genocide and the denial of it so I'm glad those got deleted quick, hopefully because he understood that was just wrong. And he needs to address that. But yea in general I suppose the support is still there,
I read this as soon as I got it and thought, "I'll definitely answer it," so thank you, anon. I value your input on this.
First, you're totally entitled to your feelings and thoughts about him and his words. My intention is never to tell others how to react; I'm just very vocal about what I think.
I can understand your position. I'm not Muslim, and I'm not from the Middle East, but I'm a POC (basically half indigenous and half colonizer) in Latin America, and we, too, share a very dark history with imperialism from the USA and his son Israel but maybe it's a bit more invisible here.
That's why I'm so radical and unforgiving about privileged people's stances regarding colonization and genocide. To me it's not enough that he says he wants peace, that the bare minimum and the least we can expect from someone like him. I don't see how having family and friends who are Jewish is an impediment to understanding what is going on in Palestine when many Jewish people go out to the streets to claim they're 100% against occupation and don't support a Jewish Estate. Zionists want to make us believe they are the eternal victims, and Misha decided to go with that. In his statement he mentioned the Holocaust several times but he fails to see that Israel is doing the same to Palestinians right now. "Well, they have committed some war crimes, but it's not a real genocide like the Jewish one." Ugh, disgusting. There's no coming back from that in my opinion.
Like I've said, we as fans have given him the benefit of the doubt more than once, for both little and bigger things. Knowing his intentions are "good" isn't enough for me anymore. He's been in politics for decades; he's always doing political activism, so he's not particularly ignorant. He's not your average dumb American, and he has followers from all over the world. I expect(ed) a lot of him, because he put himself in that position from the start. I've been a fan for over a decade, and I even did gishwhes three years in a row, so yes, it's not easy to just say goodbye to all that overnight. But I'm being true to myself, and so I have to walk away.
Whatever path you follow on all this, whether it's the same as now or it changes, I send you my support, stay strong and you can write to me whenever you want <3

Hi 🙂 Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the delay. I had to take a break from Tumblr because of something personal going on in my life.
get the feeling either you have already met your FS in some way or you are just about to very soon. It’s like your FS energy is around your energy. It is like enveloping yours. You have a very bright and beautiful energy like a candle that is attracting your FS. Your FS is your soulmate and you two will vibe on a level that very few people would understand. It’s going to be a very intense connection. You two will be inseparable. You two don’t seem to be alike in nature but you both will understand each other pretty well. You will be able to read each other’s thoughts easily. You will plan your life goals together. Your FS will always ask for your opinion in making important decisions about your lives together. There is a very nice mutual understanding. I think you will both enjoy dating each other. It will be like you both will like to consume each moment spent together. I see a big circle of people around you both too. Idk if you have a big family and a big circle of friends or FS would have but it seems like a happy social circle. This social circle will help you both to strengthen your relationship.
Feel free to ask more questions, it’s just the start.
/
Hi Sophia, you don't have to be sorry, I totally understand and I hope you find a solution for what was/is going in your life. How are you doing? I keep you in prayers and send you good vibes. ❤ About my FS, I completely forgot about that ask as I had to go into anon mode, because I couldn't send you a private message (now that I see it's possible, I'll reach out to you before I leave tumblr, not about that topic of course. I just find out that there's an application and not only the website tumblr...). So I received a message that I should asked you about my FS; hence the ask. Now that I was checking all the blogs before leaving I saw your post, wow.. This is really kind of you to share that, thank you for your time. It's a confirmation regarding something I felt. I'm not sure who that person is, but I'm definitely not prepared at all for that official meeting. I just started to pray about that topic again, and allowed someone to clean my energy, a week ago only. For real, what a shame, I know since last year that I was supposed to prepare myself correctly.
Have a nice and blessed day/evening. ❤ V. 🥐🌶
Hi Thank you so much. Yes, my problem is solved, thank goodness 😊 and I am doing much better. Thank you so much for the prayers and good vibes. It is just because of you good friends that keeps me going 😊 and coming back here. I appreciate it a lot.
I hope you have clear signs about your FS. It seems difficult to meet your FS but when the time comes everything becomes easy. Yes, keep praying and ask for signs from the Universe/God. I hope you get to clear your energy. Sending you cleansing I hope it helps. Please feel free to ask more questions.

Hello Han!
Okay so, I hope I'm not wasting your time...but i really wanted to say this. Ik there are some people who are taking advantage of the "urgent requests" that you provide. I won't say anything bad about those people because they might be undergoing something bad which might not be visible to others (maybe), BUT I would definitely love to say something about YOU.
So despite going through your own issues, work and many other issues that you haven't shared with anyone because they're just so private, you still continue to write here? I'm sure you do get bothered by people who take advantage of your urgent requests, and the ones who ask you to write stuff you're not comfortable with (even tho your rules specifically tell them not to do that). But you didn't let that stop you.
If I were you, I would've stopped doing urgent requests. But you are so considerate. You didn't stop writing urgent requests because you knew some people genuinely needed them.
I really, really wanna thank you for that...and everything else you do here. I've been in a very bad place mentally and physically and my poor relations with my family did little to help (i had no access to any form of therapy). But yk what actually helped me? One of those urgent requests you wrote. It wasn't my request, it was someone else's. Doesn't matter. You probably don't know how many lives you saved, but I can speak for myself and say that you saved my life. I'm much better now, so nothing to worry about. Thank you so much for continuing to write despite all big and small hurdles you've faced.
I truly feel that you're a very very good person, you answer asks daily and try to do your best. I genuinely want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here and doing what you do.
One more thing, never ever feel that you're taking too long to write a request or that someone will be disappointed that you haven't made progress in a while. Even if one day you get really busy in life and stop writing, for me, you'll still be the sweet angel who has already done so much. You're supposed to put yourself first, okay?
Sorry that was so so long, I just wanted to appreciate you. Thank you, Han.
P.S. give me an anon name if you can <3
Hello new anon! I don’t know how long you’ve been around or if you’ve ever sent me an ask before or not, but I want to thank YOU, for sending this to me tonight. Seriously, you’re an absolute Angel HENCE why I’ll call you my 😇 (Angel) anon 💗. VERY FITTING IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF
First of all, you’re definitely NOT wasting my time by writing all this. I loved every word of this ask and I’m literally screenshoting it and saving it so I can re-read it for the rest of my life!!! You almost got me crying 🥹
Yes, despite the urgent requests I get that I sometimes feel like people don’t really need, I do still write them most of the time without saying anything bc you never know, just like you said! I even have regular requests that I get and they don’t necessarily inspire me, but I’ve had other blogs completely ignore my requests and it does hurt sometimes! I’ve had to refuse some requests if I have no knowledge of the topic or if they make me uncomfortable, but I let them all know! That’s better than being left in the dark or ignored completely. In my opinion.
But yes, I do still take urgent requests and always will. I was actually planning on closing my urgent requests just so I could focus more on my matchup event bc I had like 4-5 urgent requests come in and I did get a little overwhelmed and anxious bc I know I was keeping people who probably only followed my blog so they could get their matchup done, waiting. I’m always so focused on other people and I just want to help make everyone happier. It’s my biggest fear to disappoint anyone or even write something for them that doesn’t meet their standards. That’s why as a writer I’m always second guessing myself and whether I did a good job or not, so this whole message just really made me feel so nice inside 🥹💗. Anyway yes what I was trying to say; thanks to your message I’m now deciding that I WONT be closing my urgent requests, bc I still do want people to have a place to go if they TRULY need the help. Not just bc they want to have their request written faster (I get it tho bc I have over 100 pending requests) but I want people to feel heard, to feel like they have a safe space and I love creating that space of comfort and safety through their favorite characters!
Also with my regular requests, those are also always open because I want people to be able to always have somewhere they can throw their ideas! I’m a creative person, I constantly live in my mind where I’m always coming up with different scenarios and I wish I could have a place to share those ideas and see them come to life through a drabble or whatever (other than just writing them for myself bc it’s not the same NDNSSN). So my blog is that place for everyone! Yes, it is overwhelming seeing that I have 113 pending requests, and I feel guilty for making people wait, but I try to make it as clear as possible that it will take me quite awhile to get to their request. I have some ppl who have been waiting a little over a year for their request to be written 😢 (sorry peeps). But at least their idea is out in the world and as long as their request inspires me and doesn’t make me uncomfortable I WILL write it eventually :).
Wow I went on a whole rant LOL SORRY
But that really touched my heart to hear that an urgent request you read (that you didn’t even request) helped you out of a bad place in your life. I can’t give myself the credit bc I owe everything to God for motivating me to start this blog, for giving me the talent (?) of being able to write, and for sending all these good people my way! I’m so relieved to hear you’re doing better, I’m blessed to be able to speak to you. Idk who you are, BUT you’re forever engrained in my memory and heart and I’m proud of you for getting through that rough patch in your life 💗 I’m so happy you exist in this world and that we crossed paths 💗
Thank you for your lovely words 💗. I definitely am busy 5 days a week at work and on my days off, sometimes I don’t have the energy to write, so thanks for saying that! I’ll try to put myself first sometimes!
I appreciate you so much my new 😇anon! Please have a wonderful rest of your day/night! I look forward to hearing from you soon! I’m always here to chat 🥰💗💗💗💗

I checked your theory-list before asking this so.. I'm really sorry if you already answered. My question is: in the Campania arc, when the undertaker explained how bizarre dolls are created, Grell seemed upset. She too messed up in the living world, so I don't understand why the sudden shock. Even Ronald said "you're one to talk" when she tried to scold undertaker for tampering with the cinematic records. I guess there may be a reason I'm not seeing.. thoughts?
Hey Anon! Thanks for checking beforehand, I appreciate it a lot!! :))
So, about this scene...
Tumblr media
First of all, I honestly think UT’s crimes can’t be compared to Grell’s, because the objectives and its consequences are on a much higher scale.
Grell joined Madam Red’s side, touched by her madness (helping women abort even though she lost her chance to have a family in an accident) because she saw a part of her own predicament in Red’s folly...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...which, as UT put it in the Campania arc, resembles “being seduced by the lives of humans”, implying that Grell’s motive was personal.
Secondly, while UT’s crimes are motived by personal desires, they’re also clearly about defying the system that the Shinigamis’ higher ups have put in place...
Tumblr media
...a system in which Shinigamis are supposed to be “neutral between Gods and humans” (meaning they’re not supposed to be meddling with humans’ lives or deaths [x]), while they work like slaves to earn redemption and forgiveness.
As I’ve been saying [x][x], this system is likely something that UT’s actively against, probably because, as an old and skilled Shinigami, he’s aware of a huge pile of Dirt™ about the Organization and/or its higher ups.
In other words, where Grell broke some rules, UT’s crimes are in open defiance to the principles of the system that created said rules. And in my opinion, that’s why Grell, who is still a loyal and obedient member of the Shinigami Organization, can’t help but be shocked by what UT is explaining on the Campania.
...How interesting that Grell and Ronald are both parts of the current arc though, with Grell working with Othello who knew UT before he deserted. ;)
Tumblr media
I mean, maybe Yana intends to hint that there is a chance they’ll learn about what UT once found out, because if more Shinigamis were to know about whatever the truth is, it sure would be very helpful in order to denounce what a crappy system it is.
My take on it! I hope it makes sense! Have a good day Anon. :))

𝙸𝚜𝚗'𝚝 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝙻𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝙸𝚜 𝙼𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝙾𝚏?
Kit x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
Rating: General
Word Count: 2848
Warnings: None, just lots of fluff✨
Requested by Anon: Mayhaps prompt 84 (“No, Mom, don’t tell him/her I said that about him/her!”) with Kit Walker, but instead he's talking to Jude, Thomas, and Julia. Kit had been dating you for a while and he accidentally had let it slip that he loves you to his family (they all tease him about it constantly). You were planning on visiting later (so everyone could go to the park together or do some other adorable activity) and Kit just knows that someone is going to tell you, and he is trying desperately to avoid that
A/N: Okay, firstly, anon, thank you so much for your lovely message. I haven't been too kind to myself lately (workin' on it), so I really appreciate you being so understanding💜
I kind of went off the rails with this one, and it doesn't actually include the prompt sentence, and the prompt itself is a lil different, but same basic idea, I think... I really hope you like it!!
Also, Jude is healthy bc I refuse to make this angsty.
The title comes from 'I Think I Love You' by The Partridge Family, and on that note, I'm also dedicating this to one of my favorite humans. She's not really into AHS, but David Cassidy is her mans, so Sierra, this one's for you!! Thank you for always being a wonderful friend💜💕
Tumblr media
“Jude, I need your help.”
In general, Kit Walker considers himself to be a pretty easy-going guy; usually, there isn't much that gets to him. But today’s different. There’s something that he’s simultaneously ecstatic about and dreading.
Today's the day you’ll be meeting his family for the first time.
“With?” Jude’s smirking amusedly where she sits across from him at the kitchen table sorting dish ware and arranging it carefully in the picnic basket in front of her. Kit glances at the clock on the wall and sighs; he's got just over an hour before he, Jude and the kids are supposed to meet you at the park, and he couldn’t be much more anxious about it if he tried... Not for nothing, though.
“I just wanna make sure today goes well.” He finishes wrapping the sandwich in his hand, placing it in the basket to join the plates.
“And you don’t think it will?” Jude raises an eyebrow; she may be a particularly perceptive woman, but it isn't very difficult to see that there's something Kit isn't saying.
His mind drifts for a moment to the other night, when he and Jude sat in the living room, chatting quietly after the kids had gone to sleep. She’d asked about you, and before Kit knew it, he was spilling his guts to her, finally speaking the words he’s been unable to say to you. It’d felt amazing to finally get them out... until he noticed Julia peaking around the door frame, brown eyes trained on he and Jude She scurried off, giggling quietly down the hall, and when he asked her about it the next day, it was clear to Kit that his daughter had heard the entire conversation. And it didn’t need to be said that she had told Thomas; the two of them have never kept anything from each other in their lives…
“I hope it does.” Kit replies after several moments of silence. He’s not at all concerned about whether or not you’ll get along with his family. There’s no doubt in his mind that Jude will be taken, and the kids are going to adore you. “I just need help makin’ sure they don’t say anything.” He glances toward the two small figures in the next room where they lie on the floor, markers in hand as they draw colorful pictures and fill out puzzles from the day-old newspaper Jude had provided to keep them occupied.
“About?” Jude's smirk grows into a playful grin. She’s having fun with this; a little too much, in Kit’s opinion. He scowls and she laughs quietly.
“About... y’know?”
“About how you love them?” Jude’s voice carries into the next room a bit too loudly for Kit’s liking, and his eyes go wide. He places a finger to his lips, eyes darting to the children to make sure they’re still distracted; so far, so good.
“Yes.”
“Well, when are you going to tell her? You’re not getting any younger, y’know.” Kit's unable to stop the smile that breaks across his face.
“Soon. I just… need to find the right moment.”
“There’s no such thing as the right moment, Walker," she chortles, rolling a bundle of silverware into a napkin. “But…I’ll do my best.” Kit smiles gratefully, but she shakes her head continuing. “But they’re kids. Kids'll say whatever they want to.” Knowing she's right, Kit groans, running a hand through his hair before feeling around in the pocket of his jeans for his pack of cigarettes.
He's in for an interesting day.
——
The worn wood of the bench feels rough under your fingers as you tap against it anxiously. You take a quick peak to your right again, in search of the vehicle you’re waiting for. It’s a big day. In just- you glance down at your watch for the fifth time – two and a half minutes, your boyfriend is supposed to arrive with his family.
It terrifies you.
It’s not that you have any issues with kids. You love them. Becoming a parent has always been a part of the plan for you. However, you don’t have much experience with them and, this is the first time you’ve ever been with someone with children of their own. It’s... intimidating.
Kit, however, has been nothing but reassuring. A small smile crosses your face, thinking of the last thing he’d said to you when he'd called last night. Don’t worry, babe. They’re gonna love you.
God, you hope he’s right.
Kit’s told you so much about his kids over the last several months the two of you have been together, and you can tell by the warmth in his voice, by the way his eyes light up when he tells you something funny one of them did, that they are his world. As they should be. You wouldn’t want it any other way.
There's absolutely no doubt in your mind that you've fallen head over heels for this man... That’s what's so frightening; you don’t want to screw anything up. For anyone's sake.
You’re in the middle of reciting some of the things Kit had told you about the kids- ‘Julia’s really into football right now, a little chatterbox, and Thomas loves readin’, but he’s pretty shy’- when you hear tires making their way along the narrow dirt road. Turning your head again, your stomach flips when you see the familiar station wagon- much fuller with people than normal- pull into the small parking lot. You smile, raising your hand in a wave when Kit sees you, and swallow hard.
The driver’s door quickly opens, and Kit makes his way over, basket in hand. The passenger, Jude, stays behind to help the kids out of their seats.
“Hey, you.” Kit murmurs, a smile on his face as he leans down to press a tender kiss to your cheek.
“Hi.” With a shaky breath, you take your bottom lip between your teeth when he pulls back. With a sympathetic smile, Kit takes your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“They’re gonna love you,” he reminds, and you huff a laugh. Julia begins speaking excitedly as she hops out of the car; you can’t make out what she’s saying, but she sounds enthusiastic, so you’re taking that as a good sign.
“If you say so.” You grip his hand more tightly and he chuckles as the two of you make your way toward the sound of the animated voice.
Now or never.
“Y/N!” You jump at the sound, completely taken off guard- even more so when something barrels into you, wrapping around your waist. You look down to see the small girl- the one that you recognize from the many pictures Kit has shown you -beaming up at you. Kit laughs, scooping her up into his arms as Jude moves to stand in front of the three of you. Thomas hangs onto her hand, hiding behind her dress.
“Y/N, this is Jude, Thomas, and you’ve already met Julia.” He shakes his head, tickling his daughter’s ribs until she’s leaning into him, in a fit of giggles.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you all,” you say, hoping the smile on your face doesn’t come across as uneasy.
“We could say the same to you. This one,”- she gestures to Kit- “is talking about you constantly.” You smile widely at this, eyes moving to Kit to find his cheeks turning rosy.
“Oh, really?”
“Uh-huh!” Julia chimes in, Thomas slowly nodding his agreement.
“Oh, you.” You nudge Kit’s arm gently, and his eyes shift quickly back and forth between the children. Jude lets out a trill of laughter then, taking Julia’s hand in hers.
“Why don’t we find somewhere to sit? I’m sure we’re all getting hungry.” The kids agree enthusiastically, taking off in a sprint toward a nearby gazebo where several tables sit. “Hey, slow it down, you two!” Jude calls, following them.
You turn to Kit, who brings your hand to his lips, placing a kiss there; there’s something about his expression that you can’t quite place, but he seems happy, so you’re happy. “I’m glad you’re here,” he says, letting your hands fall and dangle together as the two of you slowly make your way to the table where the children sit, awaiting their lunch. Julia laughs beckoning the two of you over, and there’s a shy little smile on Thomas’ face. Your nerves are slowly fading, and you let out a breathy sigh, smiling up at him.
“I’m glad I’m here, too.”
--
The meal is fantastic, and by the time you’re wiping your mouth on your napkin and placing it down on the empty plate in front of you, you can hardly remember why you were so panicky about this meeting in the first place. The food is delicious, Jude accepting your compliments on her potato salad graciously. The two of to you discuss your job, her asking about the intricacies of what you do. Not in a prying way, though; she seems genuinely interested.
It’s not long before the kids take to you, either. Julia already has, it seems, as she insists on sitting across from you while you eat. She tells lots of stories; everything from the science project she and Kit have been working on for school, to the time that Jude took her and Thomas to the zoo.; you find out that hippos are her favorite animal. “Isn’t it so cute when they wiggle their ears??” she asks.
Thomas takes a bit more coaxing, but not much; not when you decide to ask him what his favorite book is. His eyes light up and he brings up several, speaking excitedly about a chapter from the one he's currently in the middle of.
“Daddy, can we play now?” Julia asks, setting her fork down; she bounces around like she’s ready to jump out of her seat, and you can’t help but giggle.
“Sure,” Kit chuckles, placing his empty glass of iced tea on the table. I’m just gonna use the bathroom real quick, but go onnahead.” He stands, patting your shoulder. Shooting what he hopes is a discreet glance Jude's way, he moves toward the small bathroom stalls a few yards away.
Jude laughs, a soft smile on her face, watching as Julia moves to cling to your arm. “Alright, Thomas, it. looks like it’s you and me. What do you wanna do first?” She takes the small boy’s hand, and he leads them in the direction of the sandbox.
Julia glances around, and when she sees that everyone’s out of earshot, she leans into you, bringing a hand to her mouth to ask, “Y/N, can I tell you a secret?”
Her over-exaggerated whisper and enthusiasm make you giggle, and you nod. “Sure.”
She climbs into the seat beside you, leaning in closer to speak into your ear. “My daddy loves you.”
You’re quiet for several seconds, having absolutely no idea how to respond. You look down at her, eventually stuttering out, “O-oh… really? How do you know that?” You're half expecting a nonsensical answer, but when she opens her mouth, the young girl is serious.
“I heard him and Nana talking about it the a couple'a nights ago when I got out of bed for a drink of water.” She grins up at you. “…But I can just tell.”
“H-how can you tell?”
She shrugs. "He smiles when he talks about you." Her answer is so simple, so pure, and it holds so much meaning; you're sure there's a dopey grin growing on your face right now.
“Well, your dad’s pretty great. And I think you’re pretty great, Julia.” Her smile grows impossibly wider as she wraps her arms around your neck, pulling you into a tight hug. You hold her tiny frame and are on cloud nine when you spot Kit closing the door to the restroom behind him; when he sees the two of you still sitting there, he makes his way over.
Kit chuckles to himself, overcome with joy when he walks out of the bathroom to see you holding Julia in an embrace, smiles on both of your faces. He walks slowly toward you, silently praying that his daughter hasn’t said anything she shouldn’t have. So much for Jude’s help… Should'a known better. He glances at his friend, sitting on the edge of the sandbox with his son. Jude looks up, smirking, and he rolls his eyes at her.
Nevertheless, he’s decided. It has to be now.
“What’re you two doin’ over here?” He places a warm hand on your arm as he stands behind you, appraising his daughter. “Jules, I thought you wanted to play? You’ve been sayin’ how excited you were for the jungle gym all week.” Julia’s small legs swing back and forth as she watches her father, with a shrug.
“I wanted to talk to Y/N first.”
“Well, we can keep talking while we play, then,” you decide, standing quickly, but Kit grabs your hand, stilling you.
“Actually, I wanna talk to you about somethin’ real quick.” His voice is low in your ear, and he watches his daughter tensely.
“Oh, o-okay.” Your eyes move to Julia and you smile. “Why don’t you go down the slide a few times, and I’ll be over there in a minute?”
“Okay!” The little girl jumps from her spot, sprinting toward concrete of the playground.
“Be careful!” Kit shouts after her. With a chuckle, he takes his previous seat and pats the one beside him. You smile happily, leaning your head on his shoulder when you move next to him.
“They’re really great, Kit. All of them.”
Kit smiles proudly, watching as Jude helps Thomas make some sort of sculpture in the sand. “They are,” he agrees with a nod. “Jude likes you. The kids really like you.”
“I’m so glad.” You sigh in relief, turning to meet his gaze. “I was so worried they’d all hate me.”
“How could they?” he asks, leaning in to place a sweet peck to your lips. You smile against his mouth, your own tingling as he pulls back. You can’t help but glimpse toward playground to see if the kids have noticed. They’re still preoccupied, but Jude’s noticed; she sends you a wink and your cheeks grow warm. Seeing the exchange, Kit scowls playfully, waving a hand at her. She laughs, turning back to the sandy masterpiece Thomas is working diligently on.
“So,” Kit begins... Deep breath. “There’s somethin’ I’ve been wantin’ to talk to you about.”
“Okay.” Your heartbeat pounds in your ears. “What’s up?” …Could it be?
“It’s something I’ve wanted to say for a while, actually. He’s looking at his hands as he says this, biting down on his bottom lip when his gaze finally meets yours. “I haven’t felt this way about anyone in… a long time. Not since...” He trails off, but you know he’s thinking of the kid’s mothers, so you nod in understanding. “Honestly it’s a little scary, but I think I- I mean, I know I-“ He cuts himself off, and takes a deep breath, shaking his head slowly. “Christ. I dunno why this is so hard, I just…” He sighs deeply.
“…Kit?”
“Yeah?”
“…I love you, too.”
“You… you love m- wait, what?” His eyes grow wide, and he groans after a moment, knowing exactly who the culprit is. “Julia told you?” You can't help but laugh quietly, nodding your confirmation. “I shoulda known. My little blabbermouth.” A wistful smile grows on his face, and the amount of adoration you feel for this man in this moment is staggering.
“So… it’s true, then?” you ask, taking one of his hands in both of yours.
He nods, smiling as he leans in to press his forehead to yours. “I love you, Y/N. I do.” His voice is hardly above a whisper, but it feels like a shout; a declaration. Your returning smile is bright, certainly one of the best Kit’s ever seen- one he’s sure he’ll remember for the rest of his life -and when you wrap your arms around his neck, his own widens further, the muscles in his face beginning to ache, but he couldn't care less.
“I love you, Kit Walker. So much.” You move in for a kiss of your own; it’s short, but full of more meaning than any you’ve ever had.
Pulling back, you pat his knee gently. You stand from your seat, offering a hand out to him. “C’mon. Earlier, I promised Julia I’d watch her on the monkey bars.” Kit laughs, taking your hand and slinging an arm around your waist once he’s standing. You make your way to where the girl is currently whizzing down the largest slide in the park, squealing with laughter. Glancing at the sandbox, you see Jude eyeing you, a knowing smirk on her face; you blush, but smile back.
Right here, right now, moving toward the laughter of Kit’s loving family, there isn’t a sliver of doubt in your mind that this is meant to be.
This is where you belong.

I'm a Jew who's grandparents fled Ukraine, as is Amy Schumer. In Judaism, giving charity (tzdaka) is supposed to be anonymous. You have no idea whether she's given fifty virgils or $100,000 to Ukrainian causes. Never speculate. I donate about $1000 per year but always check the box for anonymous when I donate, and I never talk about it. You don't know what happens in private and when celebrities ARE public in their charity efforts, people shit on them too.
And anon continued:
Please pass this onto your friend, especially since you chose not to post my earlier anon about being Jewish within the Ukraine issue. It goes even further than what I wrote. We were stateless subject to genocidal pogroms catalysing the flight between the 1880s and 1920s. To say "Amy Schumer was born in the USA and get over yourself" is the same if not worse than saying an African American should get over the "African wannabe" revivalist culture. How very dare she.
It's so funny how you've got so many opinions about the UK and that black people being absolutely at all times perfect and immune from criticism, but you have massive racial blind spots which have become apparent to me today and you'll never post anything which critiques or calls out our biases and ignorance. You're one of those "my shit don't stink" types. Proximity wokeness is the inbred cousin of enduring victim complex.
I had been intending to answer the first ask here but it required a little thinking on my part, and I wanted to give it the attention it deserved.
I appreciate your sharing the parts of your Jewish identity that are important to you. I think you were sharing because you wanted to show me that you know more about Amy than I do.
Anyhow, true, we don’t know for sure whether Amy or anyone has already donated to the Ukraine causes. But I do know that she, as an individual, often publicizes her donations (just google “Amy Schumer charity”) contrary to the tradition that you’re describing, and we know that she’s currently publicizing her concern for the Ukraine and ideas around how to help. I drew a conclusion and made a suggestion, but sure I could be way off base. Apologies to Amy if I got it wrong. She seems like a generous person, so if she hasn’t already given to these causes, I’d guess she will eventually.
I have no particular care for Amy Schumer. I think the point from me and @artsimpourtzi was more to use Amy as an example of a widespread celebrity behavior of lecturing the rest of us and/or virtue signaling rather than simply redistributing their own money, which is what’s actually needed from civilians. I think maybe that larger point got lost in your ensuing tirades?
By the way, I am not Jewish but my husband is. My husband is a liberal, Reform Jew like Amy. His ancestors are from Lithuania and came over to the US in the same era to flee the Russian/Lithuanian pogroms. Americans of Ashkenazi descent whose ancestors were stateless, as you say, have different ways of thinking about their connections to the the specific lands from which their ancestors traveled. My own extended and immediate family members think of themselves as Americans exclusively and abhor their ancestors’ Lithuania, which they regard as having helped Russia to murder many of their relatives. This is either here nor there, but my husband also isn’t so traditional as to practice giving tzdaka anonymously (same as Amy). I guess I’m just sharing that because I was accused of having blind spots around Jewish identity, and maybe I do here and there, but I do try to talk those through with my life partner, not with mean-spirited anonymous people online. From him and his family I do have some awareness of what it means to be an American Jew.
Anyhow, I think it’s just best to treat people as individuals and not make assumptions based on race/ethnicity, even if you mean well. I guess just…never speculate.
The analogy to African Americans makes no sense.

When you added onto your tags and acknowledged that tightlacing is vastly different than corsetry... I'm ace and I think I'm on the aro spectrum but that was extremely hot of you and I think I fell in love
hey i’m on the aro ace spectrum too high five!! and FUCK yes i’m so glad that my strong feelings on making sure everyone knows the difference are appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!! and also you’re giving me this stellar opportunity to talk about it even MORE anon i love you let the infodumping commence
this gets long so the rest is under the cut:
TL;DR: corsets serve the same purpose as a bra, supporting from the hips instead of the shoulders. today, some people wear them for that purpose, and some people wear them as medical devices for scoliosis. if a corset doesn’t fit properly, it’ll be uncomfortable, which is why we hear actors complain about them so much (because they’re not wearing custom-made ones, like they would have, say, a hundred and fifty years ago).
so when everyone was wearing corsets, they had ones that fit them, and corsets HAD to allow women to breathe and move because EVERYONE was wearing them, including working-class women. tightlacing was done by a tiny minority of upper-class women to get the tiniest waist possible, which was fashionable at the time (and still is, if you look at modern waist trainers). and yes, it was damaging to them, but it’s not the intended purpose of a corset. the reason that so many people today think it IS is because of victorian men, who sucked.
(so don’t draw neil josten like a super-rich super-fashionable victorian woman)
(and that was the tl;dr so as you can imagine! what’s under the cut is quite long! BUT IT’S INTERESTING SO I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE U TO READ)
OKAY SO HERE’S THE DEAL. we always hear about corsets as like, women-oppressing torture devices. that’s not true. the *reason* we have all these misconceptions about corsets is the fault of victorian men, just like so many things are the fault of victorian men
the actual purpose of corsets??? like the ACTUAL actual purpose of corsets??? they have literally the same function as a bra. the benefit of a corset is that it supports from the hips and waist, not from the shoulders, so depending on your bust size a corset might be better for you (and for your back)!
and people do still wear corsets today, *not* just people dressing up. like i mentioned above, they’re practical, they’re COMFORTABLE ACTUALLY, and if you have scoliosis then special corsets are sometimes used as medical devices!
so back to them being comfortable. this is another huge-ass misconception. you know who wore corsets Back In The Day? women. not just rich women. middle-class women, working class women, EVERYONE. because it’s underwear. do you think a woman who lives on a farm and has to help with farm things could do that with a super uncomfortable, super tight corset? no.
you can try to lace your corset up as tight as possible, but if you have ANY form of core/abdominal muscles whatsoever, you’re just. not gonna be able to have a wasp waist. you’re just not! you have muscles there that can’t be pushed out of the way!
and are you REALLY gonna put all that effort in to lace it super fucking tight every single day? no. you’re not. because unless you’re super rich, you’re probably having a family member or spouse or maybe a single maid help you get dressed in the morning, and the two of you just don’t have time to turn ‘putting on undergarments’ into a whole fuckin’ production every single day.
but birl, you ask, why is it that movie actresses (such as emma stone and emma watson, literally just off the top of my head) always complain about corsets? simple answer: they’re not fitted well, and the actresses have been inundated with victorian men’s opinions on tightlacing and think that wearing a corset automatically means they’re gonna have their internal organs fucked up. if a corset doesn’t fit you, of course it’s gonna be uncomfortable!!!
and when it comes to movies/tv, whether it actually fits is... not always treated as a primary concern. because they’re doing it for costumes, and since it’s film, the actresses can change out of the corset and wear something else when they’re not filming. if you’re wearing a corset as part of your everyday clothes, you’re GONNA pay for one that’s made specifically for you (not to mention that off-the-rack clothing is a fairly recent invention, and for the vast majority of human history, clothing was made to fit an individual, so OF COURSE women would wear corsets that fit them)
costume corsets are frequently not a functional garment and they don’t need to behave like one. real corsets are, and they have persisted as a functional garment for CENTURIES, which they would *not* have if they were actively harming every single person who wore them. which, if you recall, was... pretty much every single woman. that’s the difference, and also, like i said, there’s an element of fear that also drives those actresses complaining because they have fallen for the victorian male complaining.
(side note: i watched enola holmes recently, and it’s a great movie, but for FUCK’S sake a corset is not a tool of repression any more than a bra is! i know some of y’all like to say that a bra is a tool of repression, because you hardly have any need for one! but a lot of people actually do need breast support SO THEY DON’T DEVELOP BACK PROBLEMS)
now. on to tightlacing, finally. with a normal corset, you lace it tight enough to get support from it, and no tighter, because why the fuck would you want to imprison your lungs and also you probably have core muscles because only a TINY subset of society was rich enough to afford zero abdominal strength.
tightlacing, on the other hand, is what most people think of when they think of a corset. pulling the laces on the back of the corset as TIGHT AS POSSIBLE (sometimes with multiple people pulling) to get a teeny-tiny waist. it severely restricts your lung capacity (since your lungs go all the way down your back), it forces your internal organs to move, and it can deform your ribcage.
additionally, since you can’t breathe very well, you have to breathe into the top of your chest (this is where the whole ‘heaving bosom’ thing comes from), so you can’t really engage in physical activity AND when you take your corset off, you’re likely to faint because of blood rushing everywhere.
and like i have mentioned SEVERAL times, if you have abdominal muscles, it is NOT GONNA WORK. because you can’t push muscle out of the way.
so this can only be done by the superrich, and IT WAS A FAD. i cannot state this enough. it didn’t last, because it fucked people up! and the fact that it wasn’t healthy, combined with some good old victorian misogyny, meant that victorian men were talking about tightlacing CONSTANTLY. and since normal corsets had been around for forever, nobody was talking about them because everyone knew how corsets were supposed to work!
which means, of course, that if you look at, say, victorian sources discussing corsets, they’re gonna be talking about tightlacing, and if you don’t live in a time where the VAST majority of women are wearing corsets, then you might not know that tightlacing is this weird fad among super-wealthy women and assume that it’s what everyone was doing!
now here’s the thing. we have bras now. we also have modern corsets. guess what? we also have modern tightlacing. those are waist trainers. now, i don’t know as much about them as i do about corsets, but i imagine they at least pretend to be better for you than tightlacing. don’t fall for it. being able to breathe is sexy.
AND if you’re interested in this, bernadette banner and karolina zebrowska have some great youtube videos on it! i actually don’t remember off the top of my head if bernadette banner has a video dedicated to corsets but she does talk about them when analyzing terrible ‘historical’ movie costumes
another side note: so what sparked this initially was talking about the aftg fandom and how neil josten is frequently represented in art as having a tiny waist. having made it to the bottom of this post, i hope u now have an ARSENAL of facts with which to know with 100% certainty that it is impossible for neil josten to have a wasp waist. the guy’s a d1 athlete.
and even if it’s some kind of AU, if he runs as much as he does in canon, no wasp waist. he has abdominal muscles. and body fat, because he is not a bodybuilder and he NEEDS body fat. i get that he’s short???? but he’s not a twink. he’s a future pro athlete. so even if he tightlaced a corset, he would STILL not have a tiny waist. it’s physically impossible for him.
the end!

I'm the one who asked about the interest in doing a show about Quinn's younger days. I was perfectly happy with Sara's answer: "Honestly? No." She did not need to write a novel for an answer. Some Anons took offense with what they perceived as too short and curt an answer. Get over yourselves! Do you know how much work & passion she (and others) puts into the replies? She can answer however she wants!! She's not our mother or therapist or minister. No one here is. It's supposed to be fun dammit!
Anonymous #2: Just wanted to leave some love in your inbox and especially for Sara. You ladies are all awsome and it’s so much appreciated what you do for this fandom. You have kept so many sane and engaged and gave us the opportunity to rant and grief with you after the abomination that was the S6 finale. Sara, thank you so much for starting this blog, providing this community and bringing so many great bloggers on board. This blog is one of the best fandom blogs ever. THANK YOU!
Anonymous #3: Just want to pop in and say Sarah’s awesome. Sorry certain parts of fandom can be so sensitive.
Anonymous #4: Jeeeeeeeezz, Anon, who obnoxiously told Sara not to answer Quinn asks. You’ve been totally influenced by Trump, haven’t you? You probably defend his disgusting and bully Tweets too. OMG! It’s Melania, isn’t it?! Go away, Melania!! And, Sara… We love you and have your back! (Ooooops, could it have been gun-loving Eric Trump who asked that? Maybe he has a bit of envy for Quinn. In any case, definitely a Trump family member. Just stay away from us.)
Anonymous #5: So sorry to hear that you receive hateful asks. I love reading your blog every day and find all your answers very intelligent, well researched and insightful. Just look at it that way: your blog is relevant, important and popular which always attracts haters. Haters cannot handle a different opinion or feeling about characters or things in general. They project their own insecurity on hateful anonymous actions. I’m sure the vast majority is very thankful for all your hard work and dedication.
Anonymous #6: My name is Sara (without an “h”!), I am the same age as HYH Sara, I’m also a Southern American, and I’ve been obsessively watching Homeland on repeat since season 1, episode 1 first aired. Just want to say that I love this blog and I think Sara might be my long-lost twin with the same name! :)
Anonymous #7: Thank you for the Emmy-related answer! It wasn’t a dig at Sara at all (I’m not the anon she replied to). Btw I just wanted to send some love to you all ❤❤❤ It seems like there’s still a lot of anger in the fandom and it shouldn’t be directed at any of you. It’s so unfair because it’s clear you do this blog with so much love, dedication and respect. I can’t imagine how it feels to receive such negativity in return.
Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement, strangers, friends, and long-lost twins!
