Pros and Cons of being an Overloaded Student in Respiratory Therapy

during my 3rd year, where majority of the subjects are major subjects such as critical care management, airway management, mechanical ventilation and neonatal respiratory care, i took up more units than prescribed by the university due to being an irregular as a transferee (2nd year). and so i had 11 subjects with 31 to 33 units with 6 days a week of classes. i was leaning on writing how i survived it but rather i think "10 pros and cons" would be a bit better for those considering to undergo this kind of process.

this is from my own experiences tho, so... yk

Pros

you get better at time management. you drown, otherwise.

less procrastination. like #1, you drown if you do.

you get better at juggling loads of school work

you get better at putting boundaries - your body knows when it's time to study, time for family and God, time for rest (although you still need to get reminded), time to socialize

your focus becomes... great (most times)

you get disciplined.

you appreciate your early mornings, rest days, people and God (should you ever be a believer). i personally love my early mornings where i spend about 10 mins on average reading the Bible before classes, it helps me cope with all the stress and made me more optimistic. i also observed things are better (ex. grades are higher in quizzes) when i don't forget to communicate with God before starting my day

its a good practice. as a future healthcare worker, even for my internship there would be schedules of 12-16 hours aside from the regular 8 hour shift scheduled about 5 days a week, with saturdays being lecture or research days, it's a good help.

you are able to find ways how to study more effectively. i personally figured out what study style/s are best for me and when i should utilize study style A (standard) and study style B (for exams, quizzes) and so on.

you learn to compete only with yourself. most times we compare our progress and grades with others when actually, we do best when we only look at ourselves and compete with ourselves yesterday and move forward with it because you understand that you are a unique case and individual and so are others.

Cons

quick burnout = it takes a toll on your health especially when exams come where all classes would require a written one (practical exams such as in skills lab, performing airway suctioning or arterial blood gas were a blessing to me)

major subjects = major requirements. sometimes you forget that your minors need some attention too at times

i only had 1 day of rest (sundays). i love going on worship services but sometimes you just want to rest and sleep the whole day ??

you get very, very anxious and jittery when you dont have anything to do.

sleep gets put off when there are tons to do despite being good in organization and time management. i once went 38 hours without sleep on an exam week, i think it was finals ?

...it was very difficult to study for exams held on the last day, especially during finals. i loved pulmonary disease management and hemodynamics but i was just so exhausted i picked rest over studying otherwise my vertigo might act up

when bombarded with tasks (ex. case study + other major presentations or tasks all together), it's difficult not to spiral. therefore, i suggest to take a walk, especially if you have a baby doggo

if you live with your family, its a bit difficult when they fail to understand you have tons to do on a daily + need some rest. i live with my family of 6 members and sometimes we get into an argument with how im unable to help around especially while im resting after class

it is very difficult to schedule dates with friends or siblings or s/o (i don't have a significant other so that's one less thing to worry about, haha). oftentimes when my older sister asks me to accompany her to the mall for a date or just as company, i spend most of the time in coffee bean, studying. sometimes i rush there when there's an online quiz scheduled in the middle of the day even without lectures.

you gotta sacrifice a lot of things. as you can see above: you sacrifice good health, time with loved ones and yourself, binge watching or gaming (me personally i set a rule if im not on a semestral break i dont play games), good sleep, difficult to commit to other things (uni organizations or work, etc) and etc etc

this being said, i don't discourage or encourage anyone to become an overloaded student as it depends on your unique situation. with mine, my faculty wanted me to supposedly join my batchmates for this year's internship but i was still left behind because there were no offerings for the subjects i needed to complete everything during the summer term and so... yeah, hahaha

other than that, id say i did very, very well both semesters !! not to boast, but it was something i worked hard on and sometimes you just gotta be proud of yourself :)

ahhhh i wanna drop art sooo bad 😭i only picked it because i did it the previous couple years but this is getting insufferable. i cant draw at all i only really like sculpting and sometimes painting. But i have a teacher who thinks he know best and is making us draw fuckin tools and shit 😭

im supposed to be doing a free subject where i can create art with what inspires but but he wants everyone to do the same stuff to get us all equal. BUT OUR SKILLS ARENT EQUAL MAN I SCULPT NOT DRAW WTF. we have to wait a whole year to get to the coursework. im so pissed i wanna drop it soo bad man 😭😠

i like to make stuff and be creative in my own time. ive made a clay ghostface tray, lil clay ghost dude, monty gatet from fnaf head, nanamis knife thing from jjk all in my freetime cus i enjoy it. not writing over 500 words about an artists picture of sunflowers.

and sorry i just really needed to get this off my chest, im gonna try talk to one of the staff who swap students subjects i just hope its not too late. :/

You just pick your favourite subject BUT YOU ALWAYS HAVE THAT SHITTY ASS PROFESSOR/TEACHER WHO MAKES YOU DO RANDOM SHIT THAT UN-INSPIRES YOU. Or, makes you want to skip to your favourite part of the subject so badly :/ ik the feeling cause im kinda going through this even if im not thinking about dropping it. And your teacher seems like shit who isnt making things any better😭 Mine is just plain – with all honesty – dumb af and also has random psychothic breakdowns and shouts to us for no apparent reason??? and she has made lots of students drop out cause of it so yeah!!! i totally know how you're feeling.

If you feel like it, you should definitely give it a try to talking to the students swapping staffs! It's always worth it if you're not comfy/really don't like your particular subject <;3 also no worries! you can always get things off your chest with me whenever you need! i'll always b here for u 😊

As for me, all good over here, i guess! Kind of nervous about some essays i have to present to this same teacher i hate, and i have an important exam this December 10th where i have 20 min to speak about a topic with the teacher and/or explain the syndrome to a patient they'll be giving us AND I HAVE TO PREPARE AND IM SO ANXIOUS AND NERVOUS FOR BOTH THE EXAM AND THE ESSAY I HAVE TO PRESENT BUT I JUST PROCRASTINATE AND ITS A CONSTANT LOOP AHHHJJJ– so i cope with memes :) b-but all well in general! 🤧🤧💖

All these concepts and things that I suddenly do not understand the week before finals start :’))))

I think waking up with triple eyelids and studying the whole day with sore eyes is going to become a daily occurrence until finals are over.

so for the event (congratulations again🥳) i think i’d go with headcanons and platonic matchup in jujutsu kaisen and/or bnha:)))

personality: intp, ace lesbian, awkward and kinda quiet whith strangers, a bit more confident with close friends, biology nerd, um often has hyperfixation on particular topics very often unrelated to anything i am normally interested in (i somehow found myself 20 wikipedia pages into the calendar of the french revolution or, on a different occassion, a biography of an asexual sex psychologist), tends Not to sleep even though i enjoy it (waste of time lmao), kinda a pushover honestly (especially with people i like lmao), very keen on the “im gonna deal with everything alone as to not inconvenience anyone” mindset, procrastinator, probabky swears a little too much

stuff i enjoy: almost every type of music (i need a running soundtrack in the background at all times), nights and stargazing, tennis (h a te running tho), coffee (addiction), reading (manga and fantasy especially, also good science fiction), drawing (how could i forget), late night walks, afternoons spent studying in coffee shops, empty afternoon trains, forests

Jujutsu Kaisen - Kasumi Miwa

Useless Miwa here for you! Joking B, well I figured you could have a great relationship with her.

She's the dumb and you're the smart you make a great couple!

Kasumi first introduced to you finding you always alone in the library or on the school properties wandering at night.

This girl makes me think of cotton candy but I love her!

Joyful and curious mind, she makes up for your introvert nature and rational nature.

She loves asking you questions and when you don't know the answer you go to discover it together.

Your new nickname as a couple is "Cold Duo" since you have the habit to be pretty blunt and without filters when stating something about someone.

Lot of people find this cute and intimidating at the same time, but inside four wall of your house you become two goofballs who love eating too many sweets and watching movies.

this is for everyone who is going through exam week or it’s coming in the near future because i know im freaking out!! ♡

mark;

is the type to hype you up 100%, even though he’s busy with work. he knows you’re nervous, so he leaves sticky notes with words of encouragement on them on your desk, the fridge, even the bathroom mirror. while he’s working he sends you selfies to get you through the day. mark knows you’re going to crush your finals even though you’re stressed about them. definitely the time to say “i told you so!” when you show him all your grades. mark is beyond proud of you. congratulates you with a thousand kisses and i love yous.

jaebeom;

doesn’t like that you’re overworking yourself and staying up super late to study. from what he remembers, that doesn’t help as much as some people say it does. jaebeom hides the bang energy drinks you bought which frustrates you because you know he was the culprit. “y/n, it’s not healthy for you. can i help you study instead?” runs through your flashcards with you. you do get the grade you want, he just smiles and pulls out the bang energy from his studio. “see? told you you didn’t need this.” takes you out for ice cream to congratulate you and to apologize for his energy drink theft.

jackson;

doesn’t like to see you anxious, and that’s exactly what exam season does to you. he knows that you’ll get good grades, you always do, but that doesn’t stop you from freaking yourself out. one night, when he sees you crying at your desk, he picks you up and carries you into the sun room with him. “baby...i think you should take a break,” he coos. “jackson, i need to study,” “i know, but can you take an hour break and spend time with me, please? you’ve been neglecting me for exams,” he teases you. finally, you smile, after days of not. “okay.”

once you get your grades back, you sheepishly show them to jackson. “all a’s!!! i knew you could do it!!!” he proceeds to take you out to your favorite restaurant to celebrate.

jinyoung;

by some miracle, jinyoung is off for your finals week which makes him happy. he doesn’t let you do anything besides studying for your tests. “jinyoung, you’re starting to stress me out,” you would say a little sheepishly. “why? i don’t want you to stress with any cooking or cleaning or laundry. you need this time to study,” he just wants you to crush it - which he knows you will....he just knows you can procrastinate sometimes. one day, while he’s sitting on the couch watching netflix, you creep out of your room and sit beside him. “yah! what’re you doing! you should be studying for your bio exam!” you pout. “jinyoung....the one week you have off is when i’m super busy. i promise i’ve studied up...i just want to hold you.” jinyoung’s face softens at your confession. maybe he was pushing a little hard, but that’s only because you do the same thing for him. he opened his arms up to you before you climbed into them, kissing him. “i love you. thank you for doing all the chores this week.” he just blushes at that, letting you pick the movie.

youngjae;

is your number one cheerleader. he insists he drives you to your uni so you don’t stress yourself more than you have to. he’s probably more stressed than you, tbh. he remembers how scary exams could be. he drops you off and gives you a kiss, smiling, “kick some ass in there, baby, I’ll be here when you get back.” youngjae watches you walk in with so much pride in his heart. he really didn’t know how he got so lucky to have the smartest person in the world as his partner. drives to chic fil a to buy your favorite meal. it could be a victory meal, or a sympathy meal. the duality of that chicken sandwich.

of course it turned out to be a victory meal.

bam;

knew you were about to take one of the hardest exams of your junior year, he hated that you were so stressed. you were so strong, he knew you would pass, but that didn’t mean you couldn’t be nervous about them. bam would read over your notes while you were elsewhere, familiarizing himself with the topics before casually sprinkling them into conversation. you smiled at him. “i know what you’re doing, bam,” he’d deny that he was doing anything. “huh?” “i know you’re trying to help me out, baby, i appreciate you.” you turned to go back to your office, but he pulled you into him. “cmon, when you talk things out, you remember them more. pretend to be my teacher.” the two of you sat on the couch for hours, him holding your hand as you taught him the dynamics of thermal chemistry. is extremely hyper when you show him your b+, which was the highest in the class!

yugyeom;

stays up all night with you. he’s the king of all nighters, so he doesn’t mind spending it with his favorite person, even if you aren’t paying him any attention. he might get antsy tho...not getting to hold you or cuddle you. at three am he gets up from the couch where he was playing his ps5, noticing you went to the kitchen for something. he follows you, wrapping his arms around you from behind, giving you a kiss on the back of the neck. you hum in appreciation. “love you,” you whisper. “you getting sleepy?” “no...,” “that’s not very convincing, baby. cmon, I’ll carry you to bed. you need some sleep before your big exam tomorrow.”

he does just that, carries you to the bedroom where you pass out. yugyeom gets up early and makes you a power breakfast. kisses you before you leave for good luck.

JKSF Jobs

I got asked awhile ago by the lovely @mewithanie if I could write about everyone’s jobs in jksf if it sparked my interest. It did spark my interest, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it into a one-shot or story, so take a tumblr post bullet-style explanation instead!

Read on to find out all about the jobs Patton, Roman, Logan, and Virgil hold in just keep stumbling forward (baby im waiting for you)

tw: suicide (oc), PTSD and trauma (mentioned only), mentions of drugs, alcohol, and school shootings.

Patton

Runs a non-profit

Non-Profit pairs up with schools

Non-Profit is an art therapy center focused on increasing connection within teenagers and allowing them an appropriate outlet for emotional turmoil

Patton’s group generally gets placed on ‘high-risk’ campuses or campuses that have incidents happen at them

‘High-risk’ in this case is defined by higher than normal suicide rates, low attendance rates, high-levels of illegal activity (generally drug and alcohol use), high rate of poor mental health, more than average amounts of cheating, etc

Instances involve things like excessive inappropriate school-wide behavior (ie. all the kids getting drunk and disorderly at a school event) as well as shocking incidents (student death from suicide, overdose, drunk driving, or things such as school shootings)

Some kids come by choice, others are referred through a suspension exchange program

Pretty much, a kid gets suspended but can choose to go to the group’s meetings instead of facing suspension

Kids get referred for suspensions that deal with violence, drug use, alcohol use, excessive absences, and so forth

The idea behind it is that suspended the kid will only negatively impact the kids record and give no reason to change behavior, while the group can help get to the root of the issue and work towards solving/improving that instead

Other kids go by choice bc they’re looking for extra support, a healthy outlet, advice, etc

They have weekly after school meetings (per each district, with one focal school in each one. The program is currently seven districts wide)

They also have lunch drop-ins were you can come make art, chill, get a snack, pet a therapy dog, and other stuff

One of Patton’s first schools was the same school Virgil works at

Patton generally leads the entire non-profit and has delegates to deal with the different districts

He handles the school/district that Virgil is at, though he attempts to go to as many things at the other districts as he can

Does a lot of outside work promoting the program to school and school boards, but is starting to delegate a lot of that work to others so he can focus on the kids instead of the bureaucratic shit

Has had to cut back on individual involvement and delegate more as the work and stress from running an entire non-profit has taken a large toll on his health related to chronic illness

He is Not Happy about this fact, but it’s for his health and he needs it. His spouses help support in any ways that they can.

Roman

Theater Boi

He is a director for a local theater company that is actually not half-bad

Enjoys the heck out of it

Went into college planning to become an actor

And boy does he love acting and the truth is? He was good enough. He could have become an actor.

But somehow he finds it even more magical running everything behind the acting (and so so much more work, god he never realized how much Work This Was)

So he joins a theater company and he slowly works his way up

At first he comes in as assistant choreographer

He’s young and they don’t think much of it, but the show genuinely improves by his individual suggestions and work and wait, who the fuck is this kid and how do we hang onto him?

He makes his way up quite quickly, sliding his way into assistant directly and then co-director and then suddenly the director’s leaving and now he’s the director

It happens fast and it’s very very exciting but he’s also honestly a little overwhelming and he’s never been good at managing large tasks without procrastinating bc executive dysfunction (see this post and this one about Roman and ADHD)

And now he is The Director and an entire production is depending on him. Everything. All of it. And it was what he was looking for but it’s a lot.

The first time he’s on his own, it goes okay

It’s by far not the best the company has done, but it’s also not the worst and the company is pretty supportive of his jump to director and the people who have been there longer help him learn to delegate tasks

And so he tries again, and he does better, and he just continues to get better from there

There’s just one hiccup: the scenographer

Basically the scenographer Does Not Like Roman and it creates Conflict

(In my head I sorta imagine the boss character Joan played when they were playing Thomas as Roman as Joan as the boss character in that one part of “Can LYING Be Good?”)

Luckily, Deceit later takes that position, and him and Roman work way better together and pull off some pretty bomb ass productions

Roman has been asked to join other companies before- specifically travelling companies and work on Specific Productions- which is very cool and very exciting but he decides he’d rather do what he’s doing now bc

a) he enjoys the rhythm of his work. b) larger productions are more stress. c) he doesn’t want to be gone from his spouses. And d) he gets a lot of positivity and meaning out of what he does now and doesn’t see a reason to change that

Every summer he also runs the local chapter of Shakespeare in the park.

He does act in these as well bc it’s completely volunteer based. Deceit also acts in these with him and these two theater dorks have way to much fun together

They may or may not of kidnapped Trixie for one of the productions (with Virgil’s consent of course)

Logan

Logan works for a company that considers themselves as a “research and problem-solving team for the improvement of marine environments”

Basically, Logan researches issues that negatively impact marine life and helps come up solutions to improve or solve these issues

Most of what he does is cycle through data that other researchers collect and figure out what that data means and how it connects

He looks at a lot of abstract numbers and pulls them together to state exactly what the numbers are reporting

From there he brings that research to a board that forms a hypothesis and then comes up with potential solutions

These solutions are often considered very progressive and liberal and as such cause a lot of debate

Solutions range from legal changes (laws reducing companies waste, laws to prevent oil spills, protection laws around certain species/habitats, etc) to inventions (boats that clean the ocean, replication of habits to help support species that can’t live outside of a certain ecosystem, etc)

The company Logan works for has had numerous very successful projects and many of these projects were successful bc of Logan’s involvement

Logan’s spouses are very very proud of this fact

Logan is modest af and brushed it off

Logan’s had quite a few articles published in scientific journals and his findings/theories/work have also made it to national news in the past

Logan himself has actually been asked to present some of his stuff on the news multiple times. He refuses each time and someone else goes in his place.

Does this mean that person gets a lot of credit that should be assigned to Logan? Yes. Does that person feel bad? They do and try to give credit to Logan. Does Logan care? No, no he does not.

Logan could care less about credit, he just cares about marine ecosystems and That’s Literally It

Seriously, people ask him things like “does he understand the ‘political implications’ of his job” or “Are you okay with your team constantly stealing your work” and he’s just like “Fish are cool. Leave me the fuck alone.”

Logan has also done more hands-on experience which has included cool adventures that included scuba diving trips to study coral reef damage, spending days in heavy wetlands, and swimming with sharks

His spouses think that this is the coolest thing and Logan agrees a 1000%

He usually works on research because that’s Where He’s Comfortable, but the occasional planned (it has to be planned) research trip is always exciting

Logan also has so much passion for his job. So much passion. It’s sort of an agreed upon deal in the house that when Logan comes home he will generally Need To Infodump because his job is The Coolest

Because of this, a time period between him getting off work and them eating dinner is designated Logan Infodumping Time

Generally this happens while they cook (because as mentioned a few times, Logan is the best cook)

Even if his spouse aren’t helping w/ dinner, they usually try to stick around and listen because a) Logan is Cute when talking about things he enjoys. b) he talks about interesting stuff. c) even if they don’t find it interesting, Logan’s enthusiasm is infectious and they just Have To Listen

Virgil

Virgil is a high school English teacher

He generally teaches sophomore regular English and junior AP English

Classes can shift slightly depending on the year

Virgil was at first a very distant teacher and didn’t connect with his students

Like his students thought he was a fine teacher bc he wasn’t too strict and didn’t assign a bunch of hw, but no one really liked him either

About his fourth year teaching, a kid at Virgil’s school got suicide baited and ended up taking their own life

It was a Big Deal (and is also how Patton found his way to Virgil’s campus)

After the event, there were lots of discussions and groups at the school, and each teacher talked to their classes

Virgil’s discussion was,, impactful to say the least

He talked to the students frankly about the issue and opened discussion to the topic while making sure to keep it respectful and calling students out on shit while at the same time helping support everyone who was struggling

He ended it with a small speech about self-worth, what it meant, and the struggle to achieve it, especially when everyone around you is pulling you down

It spreads like wildfire throughout the school and suddenly Virgil is a very well-liked teacher because He Gets It, y’know

(to clarify- his student’s do not know about his suicide attempts or personally history regarding his PTSD and experiences, that said, they all know there’s something different about this teacher. Something that makes him understand in a way others don’t)

He also has just this snark that students fall in love with

(One of his class’ learning targets for an entire week was just “We’re going to stick it to The Man. How you ask? Well we’ll find out!”

There was also a situation one year when one of Logan’s articles turned up in a multiple choice quiz and No One, including Virgil knew the answers (Virgil did have the answer key but it Did Not Make Sense)

He had to actually call Logan to figure it out

Turns out, most of them was the quiz maker’s mistake because he was asking questions about “author’s tone” and “author’s purpose” and Logan’s just like,, I didn’t meant to have any tone? I don’t understand tone? My purpose was I like fish? Why are they saying it’s to educate the average person??

i dont think anyone rly follows my personal life on here and also it’s 1 am but it’s been a minute since i really shared anything and i know in a few years i’m probably going to be looking through my own blog to see what i was up to so here’s what’s going on lol !!

The sun rays beamed down onto your naked body, which had been spread out onto your bed. Your laptop just in between your thighs.

“F-fuck.”

You moaned out slightly, your hips bucking up to meet your hand. You made your bed squeak slightly as you moved around, your climax building up on itself.

“Hey, what are you up to?”

“I’m actually grading papers right now. What are you doing?” He lied, he sat a little higher in his chair, his hand sliding down to grip his shaft. You gasped at the action, rubbing your clit slightly.

“I-I’m trying to finish my psych homework. I just called to...” You got lost in your own hands movements, “I called to see if you could help me.”

“Help you? Psychology homework is for the student, sorry no can do Babe.”

There was silence, you looked to the screen to see him covering his mouth with his hand.

“It was a mistake, sorry.” He responded in an octave lower than his usual voice. His hand had traveled back to his thigh, touching himself in an effort to cum again.

A week or so flew by within a blink of an eye and you couldn’t have felt more stressed about all your Psychology homework stacking up on itself. You decided to try and catch up on older assignments and try to finish your homework later in the week.

In the middle of the assignment your phone rings, the screen displays Baekhyun’s nickname and you sit upright on your couch. You pushed your hair behind your ear before answering.

“Hello, Y/n speaking, furniture rental service.” You joked, you could hear his laugh before responding “Hey.” there was a little static on his end which indicated he was inside of a building with horrible reception.

“Where are you?” You asked, even if his whereabouts were a little too personal of a question, but hey you’re on the phone with your Psych teacher what isn’t personal about this?

“Im actually heading somewhere important.” You heard him say an excuse me to somebody before you heard a ding. Your right side of your mouth rose up in a lopsided grin.

“So you decided to call me?”

“Yes.”

“For what?”

“Open your door and see.”

Your head shot to your door and your eyes widened, you looked around your messy living room and you cursed silently. Your shoes were scattered around the floor and you had empty containers of drinks on the table, along with your pillows on the ground from where you sit and studied.

“Are you doing something right now? I can come back-“

“No! Just one second, I have to-“ You pushed all the pillows into a corner in the room and picked up as many bottles as your arms allowed you to carry, emptying them into the bin. You held your phone between your cheek and shoulder as you straightened your outfit out. Your very old white tee, that had so many holes in it you were questioning if it was a functioning shirt anymore.

“Y/n?” His voice rang through the phone.

“Coming-Oof!” You completely face fucked the floor, tripping over your shoes which were conveniently placed to embarrass you.

You could hear Baekhyun’s laugh from the door and the phone. “D-Did you just fall?” He asked through his gasping and laughing attack. You stood on your knees, without answering you ripped open the door.

Baekhyun’s laughing died down as he saw you, his eyes landing on your kneeling figure.

And oh the thoughts that popped into his head~ He was dressed in his padded coat, covering half his body, in one arm he carried a plastic bag and in the other he held onto his laptop.

“Study date?” You hopped to your feet, examining the plastic bag, basically taking it from his hands as you invite him in.

“More like, i’m here to push your ass to get your homework finished because you haven’t turned in 2 weeks worth. Plus I brought food.” He chuckled before sitting his laptop on the kitchen table. “Touché. Either way I get to eat, so i’m happy.” You mumbled happily.

As you and Baekhyun became settled into your sofa, finishing the chinese takeout he so graciously brought, you began your homework assignments. You groaned loudly, looking at your laptop as if it would your homework for you.

“Baekhyun help me.”

“What do you need help with.”

“Writing a whole five page essay on the different parts of the brain.”

“You’re still on that? I assigned that 3 weeks ago! Y/n!”

“Baekhyun!” You both looked at each other, his brows furrowed and your lips pouting.

“If you’re going to take my class I want you to take it seriously, no playing around or procrastinating. If you fail this class you will only be wasting your time and money. So start your essay and finish it before next week.”

Something about the way he told you sounded like a demand. A demanding Baekhyun in your presence was a blessing in disguise. You also felt naughty that you’d put off so much homework just to watch him masturbate instead.

“O-okay.” Your stuttering made his stern gaze soften, he swallowed before turning back to his laptop. You figured he would be grading papers like always so you turned your attention to your homework.

After about an hour of endless typing and listening to a show on the television playing music in the background, you were on the 3rd page of your essay. To your surprise these assignments weren’t hard at all, you felt horrible for not doing them sooner.

Your gaze fell on Baekhyun’s arms, which were crossed over one of your many pillows. His biceps were peaking from his short sleeved shirt, the veins traveling down to his hands.

Your legs were laid out on the sofa and your laptop rested on your thighs, you were as comfortable as you could get with a man so fine in the same room as you.

“I can feel you staring, get back to your paper. I know you’re almost finished.” He tilted his head at your wandering eyes. You scoffed, folding your arms over your chest.

“Three pages down, if I finish this tonight you have to give me a reward.”

“Deal.”

Your eyes widened, “Deal?”

“Yeah, only if you finish it today.” He smirked while his eyes rolled over his own screen.

“Challenge accepted-“

“But if you don’t, you give me something.”

Your cheeks stung and you were sure they were turning red, “Like what?” You managed to form a short question through your tangled thoughts. “I’ll think about it.” He let out a deep laugh that you knew had an double meaning.

Without hesitating you typed every thought in your head and tried to translate it to at least decent english sentences. But shortly you had nothing else to give this paper, you were on page 5 and half way down the page your mind blanked.

“This cannot be happening,” You smacked your forehead with your palm and tried picking your brain for any bit of information to add. “I have half a page left. Can I at least get something for that?” You mumbled.

“You heard the challenge didn’t you, and it’s officially 12am sweetheart.” Baekhyun’s voice was teasing, while you were on the verge of begging. “Are you ready for my wish genie?” Baekhyun’s victory smile made you forget all your pride and instantly start begging.

“Please Baekhyun, just give me 30 more minutes.” You were crawling across the sofa to reach him, stopping by his side to pull on his arm. “Have mercy, I am not but a peasant your majesty!”

You couldn’t help but to joke with him, he was just a playful personality. “I’ll give you 5 minutes to send it to me and i’ll read it over to consider letting you win.” He snickered.

“That’s a trick you know your email doesn’t update till the next day if it’s from a student!”

“Why cant you take the punishment.” Baekhyun laced his hands behind his head. You glanced at his biceps once more, before glaring at his face.

“Because I cant accept this failure.”

“Maybe one failure will teach you a lesson.”

“Baekhyun please!” You unconsciously ended up in his lap, begging. “You can’t hurt my pride like this.”

Baekhyun didn’t respond, he noticed how close to him you were and he didn’t want to move an inch. With you being so close you could feel the unaddressed sexual tension between you two.

“I-“ He began before I cut him off.

“Kiss me.” I demanded.

Baekhyun didn’t hesitate for even a second, his soft lips pressed against mine. The sexual frustration you’d built up over the past few days was finally draining itself out of you. The fluttery feeling in your stomach made you shiver in his grasp. He could feel your goosebumps on your back was his hand shifted under your shirt.

“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” You shyly asked. For a person who initiated this heated exchange of body heat you seemed a little hesitant. Baekhyun’s mouth opened but closed again, swiftly standing up and wrapping your legs around his torso.

Making his way around your apartment he sat you on the island in the kitchen, you both now seeing eye to eye.

“You don’t understand how long i’ve wanted to kiss you.” He admitted so shamelessly it made you slightly embarrassed. He slid his hand up your thigh, “You’ll never know the many scenarios i’ve imagined you in.” He grazed his lips over your collarbones.

“Oh? I think I have a pretty good idea.” The confidence came from nowhere but you weren’t going to not drop hints about his cam boy career.

“Mister B-Bear.” You whispered in his ear. You felt him tense as he brought his face from your neck to stare at you wide eyed.

“W-what did you just say?” His stuttering voice made you laugh.

“That is your teacher email isn’t it?”

i have a lot of things i need to study for over break since i have an activity during every week of january and february but im having trouble being efficient; specifically i need to submit something in 2.5 weeks and do well in something in 2 weeks but i have something really important that i want to focus on thats in 3.5 weeks and im having trouble splitting my time for each thing- what should i do/how come i fit everything in over break(1 week left)?

uh, i don’t really know how to split up your work either because i don’t know how many hours you have left and how long your things take.

generally, what i like to do is to figure out how much time i have vs how much time i need per thing i need to do. for example, i can estimate that thing A takes 3 hours and thing B takes 1 hour and thing C takes 4 hours. if i have 19 hours total in one week, i can split up the 8 hours i need into those 19 hours and add extra padding time for inevitable procrastination and unexpected business.

some ppl prefer doing this with google calendar or a paper calendar, but i just like scribbling it down on a piece of paper or in my bullet journal. feel free to use a digital or paper method to plan your week out.

also, if you’re having trouble with efficiency, re-evaluate the way you’re completing tasks and see if it’s really the most efficient you can do it. ex: i take a long time with grocery shopping because i go over to look at things i don’t end up buying in the end (ex :the flower section, the candy section, etc). yeah, i know that’s not rly a study-related example but it’s the first one i thought of hahahaha :”) but yeah, cut out the unnecessary bits and streamline your workflow and projects and stuff.

u- underwhelming experience: legoland.. I had such high expectations ),:

v- vacation destination: the wizarding world of harry potter, followed by beaches in hawaii, architectural beauties in europe, and visiting sanrio puroland in japan w- worst habit: procrastination hands down. i literally procrastinate on everything. executive dysfunction too ): its a struggle x- x-rays: ummm just the ones when you’re sick i think. despite my clumsiness i have not yet broken any bones y- your favorite food: oh medium rare steak hands down. I also have an Achilles heel when it comes to dark chocolate covered strawberries but you didn't hear that from me

z- zodiac sign: sun sign is Capricorn! moon is Aries and ascending is Leo. still learning how it all works tho I am by no means fluent in astrology
