sorry to disappoint you but the first fic i read from you was indeed S14, im pretty sure WB was the second one. i was hesitant to read it, bc i find that this topic is usually dealt with rather insensitively - at least in my experience

so when i read PT, i remember reading ‘It’s not his fault preacher Clifford’s son was cute and…’ but i didn’t think much of it. i kept reading the fic, then i was like… ‘wait a fucking minute’ and scrolled back up to see if i read this right. i tried to see if that fic was part of a series, i know some authors who write stories in the same universe and decided to create a series, but i couldn’t find it. then calum was talking abt ashton being high and crashing the car, then ashton saying he didn’t want the people from the town knowing they were gay bc of what happened last time and i was like omg!! it’s the WB guys!!

so yeah, bc of that, in my mind the characters were aged up. i thought the story was set in at least a couple of years after WB

i loved cashton’s dynamic sm, calum seemed to know ashton like the back of his hands, which reinforced the idea that they’ve been together for a long time. their dynamic did seem healthier

also, i felt like ashton’s personality was the one that changed the most from WB. it felt like ashton was more carefree in WB, more giggly, whereas in PT he’s quieter and more, idk, tame (?? im not an english speaker so idk if im explaining it well)

also i read the deleted fic (i don’t remember the name, sorry!!) so i know that luke became part of their relationship! i never really thought about whether or not ashton would tell him what happens but after reading your porn industry fic (i also forgot the name sorry) i imagine him wanting to tell luke, calum making sure he actually wants to tell him and not that he thinks he owes him to him. ashton does choose to tell luke in the end

also i imagine that after that, when they have sex, luke always ask if ashtons okay with what’s he doing. he obviously asked before, but in my mind it’s kinda like, yes he wanted ashton’s consent, but also he wanted to make sure he was being good, not disobeying calum and him, whereas now he asks more bc he wants to be sure ashton is a 100% okay with luke touching him, and bc ashton told him he liked it when luke asked (this came to me bc of cards are dealt by elivigar lol)

Absolutely devastating trying to remember what I said the first time around but it was along the lines of:

That's not disappointing at all, don't be sorry!! Like I said, y'know, S14 is usually what people read from me first! It's what I'm known for. It's pretty crazy to think about a shift from S14 to WB though. That's a massive tonal change.

I understand there being hesitance to read a story like this!! It's a heavy topic that, I agree, is often times not handled with the most tact. And even though I do my best, I definitely think there's ways I can improve with my own content regarding this subject (bc I do write a decent amount of stories about it). I think a lot of people fall into the habit of writing SA as a sort of taboo which it's really not that glamorizes the trauma of victims. And so whenever I write about this subject, I try really hard not to do that. But it's definitely not an easy topic to write about!! I spent most of the writing process for WB feeling absolutely miserable sdfghjk. And I went back and forth a lot on if i actually wanted to post it or not.

I think that the characterizations from WB and PT are vastly different. Because I wrote PT first, I had a really specific cashton dynamic in it that was really just used as a sort of... comedic relief alongside some porn at the end lol and so I didn't think much about them. And then I got very interested in their backstory and went a lot more in depth in WB, obviously, and their characterizations changed A Lot, especially Ashton's. Now, considering he's 22 (I think) in WB and then 26 in PT, it makes sense that he'd be different and more mellowed out - and quieter/tame, like you said!! I also think it's a lot to do with Ashton's personality in WB being heavily influenced by his career path. He's got really big aspirations and it makes him act louder and bolder and with less care for the consequences. He's just kind of having fun, y'know, and is rather under the impression that no one can truly hurt him. He's sort of living in this disillusioned world that he can protect himself from anything because he's going to be some bigshot lawyer. And then, of course, an event like that happens and makes it so that his world view is really altered because he realizes that justice is Not on his side, and will probably never be on his side. And he doesn't want to be part of a system that can't truly save people. And I think that would definitely make sense as to why he's more withdrawn as he ages; he's found a little piece of safety and doesn't need to stray from it. And also, if you're with a guy for four years, and you have a past like that, there's probably not a lot of pressure to put on a show for him anymore. I don't know if Ashton ever started painting his nails again though. I always think that he realized drawing attention to himself was more a danger than a luxury. Because I do think there is a lot of subconscious blame that he puts on himself for what happened.

And oo, a little intertextuality !! i love intertextuality in fic it's my favorite thing ever!!! My porn fic was Portable Player!! She's my fave <33 I think i say a lot of fics are my favorite but... PP is my fave. she has my whole heart <33 And I do think that - while there will never be a requirement to share any intimate parts of yourself like that with a partner - there is a lot of safety in telling the people you love. And I also think WB Ash would tell Luke. because he would want to share that. i dont think he ever told anyone else outside of calum, to be honest. I've definitely written the scene in my head a bunch but never on paper.

and also shoutout to you for referencing my all time fave scene in an Anna fic ever. yeah, that scene Fucks Me Up. And I do think would apply to this circumstance as well.

i love hearing abt fic headcanons. It's really really nice to think about fics existing in people's minds outside of what happens on screen y'know?? like it's a real story to you. that's fucking incredible. everything I could hope for it to be. and i didn't ask but i always love hearing people talk. sometimes readers have better ideas for my own fics than i could ever have !! Also, speaking of michael, i always had in my mind, when i daydreamed about this universe, that michael would come to where Ash and Cal live now and he would See them for the first time in, like, five years. and of course calum would be a wreck (not in a bad way), y'know, and Luke wouldn't have any clue what's going on (probably a lot of "who's that? what's happening?"). so, in my mind, that was the sort of... shoe drop moment that made ashton go "I should talk to you about this because it's important for you to know." and I also just like the idea of michael & calum reuniting and seeing each other alive and healthy. and then ashton & luke sharing this moment that ofc would matter sm to Luke. because, i mean to be told something like that by a loved one really is so important and it shows such trust. and i dont think it should ever be taken for granted.

im not the BIGGEST fan of this event - i think the concept is super cool but sometimes it's super frustrating to watch literally any team grind for 6+ hours and then for the efforts to be futile because of a last minute thing/only a few members logging in on a day that requires more than one person (not to mention some of twitter,,,) but as long as the ccs are having fun then yknow!! but it's still a super cool concept don't get me wrong and it's been fun to watch like i'm always on the edge of my seat

but good LORD did tubbo COOK today's stream. like the pieces literally fell into place. i was convinced blue was cursed from the get-go but every single thing he pieced together just made SENSE. there's literally so much evidence backing up blue being the cursed team versus the one single red heron red team keeps hanging onto that in theory doesn't even make sense still taking quackity's ticket into consideration and the fact he was on a different team at the start. i wish they'd kinda just listened to what tubbo is saying because it genuinely makes so much sense but i feel like they're trying to not take the cursed team into perspective for content-sake which fjaeihfiuewf the cursed team is roleplay contentttt but whatever

part of me kinda feels like this event was supposed to be kind of a phase out of the eggs that weren't meant to last this long so i'm honestly not gonna be too mad if red wins bc they're too stubborn to listen to reason (and it'll be funny to see q!tubbo say i told you so LOL) but i think it would be a super good way to finally phase out the eggs and move on to a different part of the lore and i'm excited for it!!

hey what’re your thoughts on bnha rn. you’re like one of the only dudes i trust with opinions on this manga/anime lmao

LOL idk why im one of the only guys u trust for manga/anime opinions BUT SURE do you mean like... what do I think of the current plot? or mha in general? (I will answer both. i love to talk) current plot: (SPOILERS) It's clearly the final arc and its clearly taking longer than Horikoshi intended lol. Overall it's decent shounen fare? Nothing mindblowing but it's well drawn and weekly developments r fun so im not complaining. I'm not the type to get rly invested in villains so AFO/shigaraki even Dabi are only interesting to me thematically and as characters I don't rly care but the visuals are cool enough. I love the pure white negative space hair and Horikoshi clearly loves AKIRA LOL. I will say I LOVE the ongoing Boku No Open Heart Surgery saga that's going on with Bakugo though. I love that they have to save him in some ridiculous weird power-based way lol, normal first aid would be booooring!! + I think its smart for the manga to keep him teetering on the edge of death and flashing his lifeless body every 5 pgs (lol) because it means even if the final fight drags a lil I'll keep tuning in.

in general: There's a lot of shounen manga out there but there's only one shounen manga that caters specifically to people who love the school aspect of x-men comics so I think I'm pre-disposed to love mha based on that alone. Beyond that, I love how idiosyncratic and energetic horikoshi's art style is.. I feel like the two things u can tell right off the bat abt his drawings is that he draws rly fast and that he rly loves his characters lol. Evident in the sketches he puts on twitter and the bonus content in all the tankobon volumes (it's also great for ""content""" he's a good content creator), he's always coming up with situations and outfits and concepts on the fly for those kids like they truly live in his brain. Also the more I read the more I realize I actually quite enjoy Horikoshi's writing too? I think he really clearly grew up with and adores paying homage to corny shounen superhero stuff but he's also very genre savvy and (I think) purposefully avoids a lot of common criticisms and pitfalls. Like the power scaling is pretty tame, the adults never truly give up responsibility of the kids & continue to own up to mistakes/endangerment (but never so much as to prevent the kids from doing cool action stuff!! duh), the cast is relatively well balanced despite being so big etc etc... It's not perfect, there's pretty significant failing on gender parity, and some of the pacing is way better in archival format > week-to-week but it's pretty good overall. Also its funny?? I feel like in the midst of 9486135613 action battle series + generic anime comedy we forget to address when something actually has good jokes and i think mha does. The aoyama cheese stuff made me laugh, the kids protesting biased commentary was funny as hell, and honestly i think mirio distracting afo with his ass?? funnier than naruto's final yaoi no jutsu imo. Sorry if you wanted me to dish out criticism I know its kind of popular to hate on mha rn because it's pretty generic low-brow shounen. And also adults who obsess over yaoi-ifying these kids are like the butt of the joke on the internet rn. But I don't rly run in fandom circles, it's just a solid manga to me with fun characters. Actually 90% of the reason I started reading mha again was because I listened to the mangasplaining ep abt it recently and they made me remember how much there was to like! Good to listen to if you want a more fandom-free objective take on the manga. Also Horikoshi credits all of his assistants in a bonus page in every volume! just a cool thing to note! kinda rare for a mangaka and kind of important for a series that requires as much assistant work as a wsj shounen. I feel like the amount of assistants that have gone on to lead mha spin off manga projects is kind of testament to how good his relationship w them is.

hey guys. sorry for being gone for so long. heres an update

basically i had a huge mental health crisis. i was having 24/7 constant rolling panic attacks from may of 2023 to january of this year. my last big meltdown was in early february. been processing a lot of CSA trauma and some recent trauma that ive gone through. i think i talked about my panic attacks before leaving social media but idk i dont remember. isolated myself from absolutely everybody.

the main thing that made me leave was that while i was keeping up to date on the g3n0c1d3 (censoring bc idk how tumblr is about it), and when i was looking in the replies / related of the awareness videos, i came across 4 accounts dedicated to using gore for clicks / shock. not videos of the g3n0c1d3 (thank god bc of how they were using the vids) but of unfortunate every day situations and cam footage. like, the kind of stuff you could see on liveleak back in 2010. just out in the open on twitter. they all had usernames like "(insert number here) ways to die)". they were all content farms for click/ad revenue. it was too much it was a huge trigger and i had a full on meltdown. the bluecheck ppl on twitter were using the replies of the videos people uploaded for raising awareness to upload mindless g0re for money. the fact that peoople have 0 compassion for human life sent me into a spiral that i couldnt get out of. (i reported 3 out of the 4 accounts i was able to and 3 got taken down but 1 is still up and it odesnt seem to be uploading the hardcore g0r3 anymore. so thats good. but that was one of the reasons i left social media. ive been keeping up to date w the news but thats it. i left my socials entirely and ive only been on my phone to look up recipes or to use my computer for media research groceries and gaming and shows

that was the main thing that pushed me to leave. i just couldnt take it anymore. during the start of my crisis last year, i was planning on taking a small break, but all of that pushed me over the edge and i dropped everything. after that, my issues got worse and i dont remember most of it. thankfully. but i couldnt bring myself to talk to anybody. i isolated myself and just. laid in bed. but im doing better so i guess thats good

on another topic ive beeen nervous to post this on main but during all of this (ive talked abt tihs a little bit on my priv before i left) i found out that im a system a long while back. my dad (one of my abusers) had/has DID and it terrified me to think that i could be anything like him. i also knew cereal abuser who pretended to be a system to get away with stuff/abusing their friends (and then years later admitted that they werent a system and siad that systems are fake.) LOTS of tears. lots of crying over this. was in denial for a few weeks. cried some more. then eventually came to terms with it.

i dont want to post abt my system online too much bc i dont want to act like this is some fun trendy thing bc its not. it makes day to day living very hard (some lighter/funnier issues that make it hard are: arguing with an alter bc YOU dont know where THEY put YOUR MEDS, not being able to cook because one alter can and the other cant, your art style not being consistent because their styles are different). i dont want to really make it a massive part of my identity online bc its not a big deal! theres just Multiple Little Guys in my brain. so. im a system! im the same but....this explains why i dont remember talking to certain people SUIDHUFHX. i always felt bad. makes conversing with online friends hard especially if icons/usernames are changed. ill make a separate post about this someday thatll go into detail a bit more.

i went years thinking it was just "kinning" but it wasnt lol. it turns out that your personality completely shifting, tastes in food / music / art / media changing, the way you walk / talk dress changing, and having complete memory blackouts when you """"kin shift"""" isn't normal. /lh (dw ive had a lot of time to come to terms with this)

but basically right now ive been spending time getting to,,know myself?? iive been using simplyplural for myself for several months and im uncovering a lot of my memories / trauma ect bc alters can write down what they need to in the chat. so i can go back later and read it. its been v helpful!

i will not be coming back just yet. i have no interest in using social media rn or drawing or writing unfortunately. ive been working on my original stuff here and there but i havent been drawaing fandom stuff bc im not hyperfixating on a fandom.

also. some things have come up. im not going to say anything until the party in question is stable/safe/comfortable before i even suggest anything for context (i dont plan on talking abt anything at all unless they start talking publicly). right now i am helping someone through abuse. their wellbeing is my #1 concern. i'll think about other things after im sure theyre okay.

i dont really have any resolutions as to how things are going but i do feel better and im not having as many panic attacks. i dont really know where im going with this now sorry. just trying to brush over the basic topics before i go. idk if anybody remembers me bc ive been gone for so long so idk if im just talking into the wind but if i am thats fine honestly this is helping me reorganize my thoughts (i type these vents out a lot on docs so i probably wont remember posting this hiudhvu)

other than that. i dont draw or write anymore. i think in the past 6 months ive drawn like....5 things. its. weird. im completely disconnected from fandoms now. coming up to a full year of not having a hyperfixation at all.

my bday was on the 6th. im 27 now im very old (everybody forgot it asides from my husband (and the people he reminded) n my abuser). ive been trying to cook and bake more and ive been playing video games again. planning on getting back into drawing soon and working on my original stuff. when i come back im planning on redesigning my profiles and updating my social media bios and stuff bc theyre so old. also ill make a section on my carrd for my system. there you go theres some positivity to the update nxfjdfjh. sorry if i dont seem very enthused im very tired so typing has been a chore hfuidshuifv.

ok this may sound silly but: in the 90s, necros (among others) were making some rad tracker music with a very very specific synth sound and overall vibe that i simply have not heard since. this hits that for me.

"露華" necros md tracker idm revived. "spur" feels like it's that tracker sound, removed from tracker limits.

"føn", my second fav track, feels far more Halley Labs, but still carries a hint of that turn-of-the-century tracker spirit.

the opening track, "eko", is SO choice though. fav.

OH MAN. worms are one of my special interests (hence the worm themed usernames on my blogs lol) and i have A Lot to say. worm rambling below the cut. ive included some images, so if anyone here is grossed out by worms i would recommend not clicking the keep reading button

OK SO. i love all worms but my specific interest is in flatworms (platyhelminthes) so im going to talk abt them here! im especially into terrestrial flatworms (geoplanidae) but marine flatworms and smaller planarians are also very cool!

one of my favourite things abt flatworms is the variation among them. obv there's a lot of difference at higher taxonomic levels, for example you get

polycladida, the numerous and varied marine flatworms that are free swimming and often have two short tentacles on their heads, and many small ocelli! they are quite large compared to other flatworms in general too!

freshwater triclads, which are small and brown and live in freshwater, and usually (although not always) have two eyes!

and geoplanidae, the terrestrial flatworms, who inhabit gardens everywhere and usually (although, once again, not always) have many small ocelli!

there are more taxonomic classifications, and this isn't rlly a particularly scientific or accurate way to define them, but it's how i tend to split them up in my head lol.

geoplanidae are my favourites bc they're very easy to find where i live, and they're very beautiful and there's so much variation within the family. all of them are carnivorous, and although they will scavenge, they're often active predators and hunt other worms and also gastropods. their many ocelli (eyes) are usually pretty small and they can't see much at all, with the exception of species like the new guinea flatworm (platydemus manokwari), which is invasive in the US and has two large-ish prominent eyes on either side of its snout, and has better visual acuity than most flatworms iirc.

the majority of geoplanidae use chemical senses to track down their prey! because snails/slugs and other worms leave trails of slime, which are often imbued with pheromones to attract mates etc, predatory flatworms can track down their prey by following the chemicals in these trails.

once they've found their prey, they will wrap themselves around it and excrete a mucus which they use to slow down their prey. they're very strong as well so will often overpower prey using physical force! after this, they use their eversible pharynx (a kind of muscular tube) to penetrate or grasp their prey. the pharynx produces digestive chemicals through special glands. the prey is effectively digested externally, after which the flatworm will eat it.

it's a little bit horrific, but also very cool imo. flatworms can have mixed impacts on their environments, in native areas they can help control pests and keep the soil healthy, but if they become invasive they can decimate native worms and snails/slugs, which can decrease soil health. it really depends on if they're native or not.

terrestrial flatworms come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes! many of them are pretty small and long with some kind of a stripe going down the middle, as you can see in this personal photo of mine of a newzealandia graffi flatworm:

although there are many brownish flatworms, there are many others that come in lots of different colours, like this creamy-orangey one in another photo of mine (australoplana sp.):

or the blue garden flatworm (not my photo, caenoplana coerulea):

or even beautifully patterned ones like this unidentified flatworm!

within geoplanidae, there are also hammerhead flatworms (subfamily bipaliinae), named so because of their hammer-shaped head, usually lined with ocelli around the edges:

this species is bipalium choristosperma, and is native to borneo iirc! some other species of hammerhead flatworm, i.e. the brownish bipalium kewense (im running out of pics for this post rip so no image for this one but you can google it if you're curious!) are invasive in certain areas of the united states.

other geoplanarians are invasive in some areas, like the aforementioned platydemus manokwari which is also invasive in the US, or the new zealand flatworm (arthurdendyus triangulatus), which is invasive in the UK (despite it being called the new zealand flatworm, i have yet to actually see one irl and i live in its native, non-invasive range lmao 🤷‍♂️). like many other invasive animals, they're very good at getting into places undetected (esp plants/soil being transported, which is how they usually make it into new countries), and are just very efficient little predators. which is unfortunately bad news for gastropods and other worms lol

geoplanarians can also get quite large! check out this Obama eudoximariae specimen (not named after the president lol)

however most are usually a lot smaller than this. the flatworms where i live are usually no longer or wider than my pinky finger.

another cool fact abt flatworms is that many species can survive being cut in half, in fact each half will go on to form a new flatworm! some species will intentionally split themselves in half, or reproduce through "budding" where another flatworm just starts growing on them and eventually splits off. this is all asexual reproduction, but as well as asexual reproduction many species also reproduce sexually and lay eggs. they're such cool little beasts and have so many tricks up their nonexistent sleeves!

many species also glow in the dark under uv light. ive run out of images to add but it's cool as hell, my profile pic on my creature side blog is a photo i took of one of a newzealandia graffi worm glowing under uv light/blacklight. very cool of them to do that

Ohh im glad i didn't bother you <3 (also i ate the word where i meant he's not a sweetheart lol doesn't mean he goes out of his way to be mean to people either i wil die on that hill)I love discussing characterizations and such or analyzing trends that why i mentioned from my pespective shadow fans always mischaracterize him the most(more that sega)</3 they take him to extremes where he's too water down or he's idw shadow(sorry). Years ago it seem like people said "he's and edgy mean vegeta i hate him" and now the difference is "he's such an asshole, mean bastard lame loser i love him <3 has always been get over it". All the characters get a bad deal especially the introverts(sonic im so sorry) in favor of thing that are "funny" "relatable" "loveable lame" more to people tastes in general, is very interesting(and not my preference at all). Anyways poor guy hope someday they can set him up better(06 feels more truthful to me) there's lots of potencial for this one introvert, asocial guy(all of them please)if you want to check this blog fukurou-hoseki talk a lot about the games and analysis, especially sonic himself, bye have a good week

i agree that a lot of mischaracterization happens within fan spaces as well. i think bad portrayals, like in boom, which had a shadow with very little depth and an excess of edge, caused a lot of people to "pendulum swing" in the extreme opposite direction by insisting that shadow isn't like that at all—that he's actually very shy and nice and has friends, and all that. and while not all of that is bad, it also means lots of his flaws arent acknowledged. now we see other fans try to push back against that by insisting that hes a COMPLETE asshole, that he was always meant to be and insisting otherwise is woobifying, etc etc. like u said. very little room for middle ground sometimes. i also agree that 06 is a very good representation, and i like it mostly because it feels like a good culmination of the other games' work on his character arc

i also agree that sonic gets hit with the fanon stick really hard over here, i tend to have unpopular opinions about him and so i dont really open my mouth bc i feel like that will ruin peoples fun. shadow seems to be a more divisive character so i feel more comfortable poking fun at ideas i disagree with or stating my opinion, but theres seemingly such a wide "consensus" abt sonic that i feel like i would risk swinging at a hornets nest, even if i dont think anyone who would see it would actually be mean like that :')

i have heard of that user, i think ive scrolled thru their blog a few times so i kind of understand what they get at. i may follow in the future & i may not, i often get really anxious following first especially if its an analysis blog and i also do my own analysis (though i wouldn't consider my one-off jokey-tone posts serious analysis). but i agree with a lot of their sentiments, sometimes i disagree but thats just life

hey kels i was scrolling through my dash and then i caught a glimpse of your new fallon drawing and i want you to know that i went absolutely buckwild and then i scrolled further to see the whole drawing and i'm pretty sure i squealed. kels ever since ive started following you and your art and fallon have slowly nestled yourself inside my brain its amazing how excited i get whenever u upload a new drawing. also ive noticed that i'm slowly but surely starting to sound more and more unhinged and wild like you. how the fuck do you have so much influence on me.

ALSO i love the new fallon drawing!! you are so right blue gold and white are just her colours they fit her v well!! and i love how much texture you used throughout the whole drawing and her shoes are AWESOME!! also love the whole winter fairy-ish vibe <3

ALSO i was wondering if you could like sort of,, idk explain your drawing process on this drawing? like if you did the colouring first or the lineart and stuff bc i just love how it turned out and id love to try something similar!!

AW!!! i am so hype for my awful girl to be Enjoyed so much!! she is my favorite dressup doll i love to play barbies with her most of all heheh. also i am THRILLED that my Unhinged and Unwell nature have rubbed off on u. i know i am a Strong personality and it makes me V POLARIZING (i am either LOVED or LOATHED i havent met many ppl who are just like meh abt me. i am an Experience) and its always a DELIGHT when someone finds my feral animal traits endearing or positive and kind of picks up on them. i think because life is short that we should all be as bananas as we please at any point in time. AND TY TY!! my girl has a strong aesthetic and this piece kind of went a liiiiittle against some of that (its a lot of hard angles vs i normally give her a lot of ovals and rounded edges) but for the setting its appropriate bc im trying to give her a bit more of a """"harsh"""" or """"severe"""" vibe (like as harsh and severe as she can possibly look which isnt very). i LOVE to use texture brushes they are such an easy way to get out of drawing details myself because i am SO lazy!!

OKAY THE DRAW IN QUESTION i kind of cheated on bc i literally just traced over one of my older draws i did for a very obscure au i made of who made me a princess (i am always doing such ridiculously niche shit i love to sit in my little sandbox and have no one else understand my barbie rps) BUT the process is the same as basically every draw i do like this. it is very simple so dont worry (or do, maybe)

i use 1-3 layers at a time and then immediately merge when i feel like im done and LIVE W MY MISTAKES if not!! anyway prepare to be massively underwhelmed heh

this is so funny i cant believe i literally traced my own drawing im a fuckin FRAUD im the laziest bitch i know. anyway. my sketches are way messier than this but it always starts out either scratch ass lines or color blocking w this bright ass magenta bc thats what feels right!!!!!!

HERES THE LAYERS I USED LOL i do all textures n shit as a clipping mask so actually i used 4 layers for this bc id set down one texture or pattern that was gonna overlap on a diff layer so i wouldnt have to work harder to erase and then BLINDLY MERGED to make things more difficult if actually i fucked up before that!!! work smarter not harder except when it is absolutely braindead to do otherwise is my motto

IF IM DOIN SMTH NICER like this then i usually make sure all my lines connect (this is also why i do a lot of angles and simple clear shapes when i draw) so i can set that layer as reference and USE THE FUCKING FILL TOOL BAYBEEEEE!!!!! this also makes it easier to fuck around with COLOR imho bc you can just rapidly swatch with zero efforts. i Love to take shortcuts. i Love to be lazy. i HIGHLY rec this, if i have colored smth that stays in the lines then its bc i connected the lineart and used the bucket fill underneath. if my lines dont connect sometimes ill make a temp line and erase after i filled. im dedicated. ALSO u can see here that my patterns layer is all overlapping and fucked up bc i didnt check and erase fully but i use p limited palettes in general so... IT DIDNT MATTER THIS TIME!!!!!!!!.

anyway after all that i lock the lineart layer if i havent already and color some of the lines for some PIZAZZ. easy way to immediately fake effort i do love to do that

HERES AN ACTUALLY MESSY SKETCH:

i do all of my fucking draws on the same canvas bc im a horrible little beast, so the only reason i didnt erase the sketch and use it for the colors layer was bc there were others on that layer already and i didnt wanna scoot them so i could cap the finished draw. i did NOT connect my lines for this one i colored like a toddler. who gives a shit we all die in the end anyway!!!

YOU DIDNT ASK FOR THIS BUT LINELESS MY LOVE... i just color blocked for this one alas i do not have process caps, i will do that next time i draw i guess if anyone wants that!!? i typically only use a single layer for lineless- block out the shape, alpha lock, then color and carve from there. EASY PEASY!! ive shown it before but i spent all my formative draw years on v limited feature programs (mspaint, oekaki, TEGAKI MOST OF ALL) so i dont explore tools much and do what seems easiest and most intuitive to me... im sorry i dont have any sick tricks or real process i am but a feral little clown drawing in the DIRT. also here is the tegaki overlay i use whenever i am Blocked or fatigued w procreate layout. it makes me feel NOSTALGIC and INSPIRED so i do this instead of like, actually getting on tegs2
