On an especially stormy night during the hot summers of Konoha, which also always brought with them a surge of heavy thunderstorms, Obito, just about four, crawled his way into his parents’ bed, fear making him shake. Sayuri had lain awake and already expected him to come, he was terrified of so many things after all. “Hey big boy,” she said to him and stretched her arms out so that she could lift him over her legs into her arms. “Too scared to sleep?”

Obito buried his head in her neck, his shaking easing up a little once he could feel his mother’s embrace. Sayuri saw him eye his father from the side. Kakashi wasn’t showing any signs of being awake, which probably meant he definitely was. “It’s okay, baby, you can be scared, it is very loud out” she whispered into her son’s hair and she heard the boy sniffle, ever so anxious he’d disappoint them.

She rocked him a little, trying to get him to calm down, while outside the storm raged on. “Did you know that the man you are named after also was scared of storms?” she asked Obito softly. The boy looked over his shoulder at his mothers, tears were still glittering in the corner of his eyes. “Uncle was also..?” he said. Sayuri giggled a little. Kakashi had told his son so much about Obito that he now seemed like an invincible, undefeatable superhuman. “Yes! I once found him cowering under a tree during a storm just like this and sat with him until it passed. And he was older than me!” Sayuri said and felt a warm nostalgia at the memory. The boy seemed to ease at these words, if only a little.

“Come here”, she opened the blanket to let him slip under it and lie in between Kakashi and her. “I will go when it gets better, I promise,” Obito insisted. Sayuri knew that he’d stay until the next morning, always too scared to go back to his room alone, but she nodded anyway: “Of course, sweetie.”

i have an idea for his new story? but again im still taking feed back/ criticism because im def not the biggest "the before" expert or anything

i have a loose idea that icarus would just be an aimless soul (heh) getting by until he becomes friends with FIF!jash , then meeting his two brothers along the way and then icarus becomes like. the fourth brother /silly but thats just a loose bastardization because icarus is Not a Good Person, or atleast at first.

he struggles with codependency, abandonment and negligence, but at the same time is harsh , apathetic and destructive. icarus doesnt want to push anyone away, he just wants a stable relationship with someone, Anyone, but hes self aware. he knows his flaws, and as a defense mechanism to "protect" himself from everyone, he isolates himself. and yeah, it's bad, but thats all hes ever known. hes never met someone like the solo brothers, where they actually give him room to improve and take the time of day to help him out any way they can, because thats what friends do.

so he also tries helping them, doing small gestures in return. he doesnt understand that their (platonic) love is unconditional, so because he doesnt want to feel like a burden, he tries understanding and also mirroring their patterns.

I do not want to see Downed Dragon, Forbidden Friendship, New Tail, Test Drive, or Romantic Flight or practically any of the scenes that made me love this movie get a poor imitation.

You really think live action can mimic the body language, gestures, tHE WAY THE DRAGONS FLY in the first movie or miraciously somehow make it even better? You really think the music of the first could even be topped? YOU THINK THE CINEMATOGRAPHY, THE SHOTS AND LIGHTING WOULD BE COPIED??

Either way, at the end of the day, they already know they cant beat the original movie. All they need to do is horrendously mimic some parts to keep your interest, whether its a beloved scene or music. You're not watching the new one because you love the new, you're gonna watch it because you loved the original.

I can imagine the first cycle after moving. Probably Leo because Donnie likely has internal scarring, so leo goes through the process of laying his eggs, panics, his brother can't help, and finally, *finally* they ask for help. It's not willingly. It's not for fun. It's purely necessity. It's purely because there's *literally noone else* and the idea of telling anyone at all is so scary that the way they do so is in a note. Splinter sits them down and basically walks them through "You're safe, you're fine. We can handle this however you feel most comfortable, including getting you both on blockers if you prefer" and they just.... sigh. For the first time, there's *someone else* in their circle, and it's willing and it's warm, and it's *safe*. There will be tears.

Yes, except I'm not convinced that either of them could stand to tell anyone. Even if it was literally life or death (which it has been before,) I'm not sure if either of them could bear to give up that information. Donnie is finally, finally away from the people who hurt him when he got found out last time, and even though logically, he knows that it's different here, he's absolutely petrified of the thought that the same thing will happen again and it won't be over anymore. He's still horrified by the idea of anyone else knowing about Leo when he's gone to such lengths for so long to protect him, and Leo is likewise terrified in the same way. They've spent years with this being their more closely guarded secret, and that's going to be really difficult to give up.

But it's really not a secret they'll be able to keep for long.

They're in a completely different environment, with far less space and privacy. They're both stressed as hell and Donnie WAS on birth control and taking all sorts of vitamins and supplements to make sure he didn't eggbind again and now he's suddenly not and it's not only messing with his body, it's fucking scary. It literally keeps them both up at night. Neither of them know how to wash blood out of clothes or sheets. There's no private en suite bathroom they can sequester themselves away in. They're both literally making themselves sick with anxiety trying to deal with this, and they're used to handling this on their own, this is routine for them, but they're not used to all of this.

They'd probably metaphorically limp through a few cycles before their family puts it together and gently confronts them.

Venus probably figures it out first. She's pretty smart, and incredibly observant, and after all-- she quite literally experiences the exact same thing. April may not lay eggs, but I think she'd be able to get the idea after a bit as well. And while I think Splinter would realize something was wrong pretty quickly, Draxum would probably realize what was wrong first. Splinter has April, so he has a little bit of experience in this realm, but Draxum has Venus and so he has far more experience.

And so when they do sit them down and talk with them, it's going to be really scary at first. And then they get to, "you're safe, you're fine, we can handle this however you feel the most comfortable. It will be okay. No one will hurt you."

And then there's finally other people in the know, in the circle, people who will actually help them. And yes-- there will definitely be tears.

it honestly frustrates me when i see people reduce the ericsons cast down to "just some teens in the woods" acting like theyre no different than any other group of lone teenagers from other existing properties and treating them like an overused trope

it is sooo important to acknowledge the "troubled youth" aspect of the whole equation. theyre not just some random teens in the woods clem stumbles across. these kids were abandoned by their families for their various "difficulties" and fucked up by The System before the outbreak even began. and then once zombies started roaming the streets their familes never came back for them and the adults that were in charge of taking care of them just left them there to rot in that old boarding school (except for ms martin who was like their lee 🥺 the only person who ever saw them as the scared traumatized kids they were and died protecting them)

the whole aspect of them already being fucked up by the adults that controlled their lives is like.....kind of important when discussing the whole "delta is stealing kids to force them to fight in a war they have no real part in and want nothing to do with" aspect of the season. and its important when comparing them to clem and her journey of also suffering at the hands of the adults around her forcing her to become self reliant. AND its important when discussing the "just trying to build a safe home (and future) worth fighting for in this world that wants them dead" aspect of the season as well

these kids were forced to come together to survive. and a Lot of them didnt... theyre the only family they have left and you can tell that even when they argue with each other theyre still a close knit group who looks out for each other. theyre a Real family before clem even gets there (and its why what really happened with the twins and brody and marlon hits them all so especially hard)

all of this is what REALLY makes ericsons such a perfect home for clem. its a Real community of her True peers. theyre not Just teens. they mightve had a layer of safety clem never had by at least having walls to keep them safe. and having the benefit of the school being hard to find. its the only reason theyre still alive when clem shows up. but theyre also some of the only people who can Truly understand where clem and aj are coming from. and its why it hurts so much when they vote to kick them out. but its also partially why she merges back into the fold so easily when she returns. plus the fact that shes Really the only one who has any idea what shes doing. shes their rock and she makes them feel safe because underneath it all theyre still just those scared traumatized kids ("EVERYONE is scared, clem..." vi was Definitely including herself in that 'everyone'), and on some level, so is clem

they saved clementines life. and she saved theirs. "the school was supposed to help them with their trauma, now they help each other" its about the LOVE the COMMUNITY the SUPPORT!!!! and thats the shit that makes good zombie media honestly 👌

I just finished Chasing Dawn (The Alters) by Terra Katherine McKeown  and aaaaaa!!!!

I don't have the time right now to write up the review, but if you want a thrilling urban fantasy with a really cool take on DID and magic, please check this out, it's so so cool!!! I am Hooked! I Am Compelled! In less pages than other certain books I've read, I'm so much more connected to each of the alters and their personal journies, as well as the magical lore.

If you check it out, please be mindful that there's some detailed fight scenes that get pretty bloody, implied sexual abuse and a chapter detailing ritual abuse(the chapter is titled Sigils and Scars Faded). I'll do a more detailed TW list when I can write my review

Pringle and Pea were both initially found as little escapees outside. They’ve essentially broken out of a local adoption center and ran away together, much more interested in exploring the great big world for weeks at a time before going back. The center employees can usually tell there’s about to be a breakout attempt if they start noticing supplies slowly disappearing as the two start stockpiling for their adventures. After far too many escapes (and subsequent returns), they just sort of gave up trying to stop the two and instead started helping them pack, knowing it’d be better if the bitties were fully prepared for their journey ahead.

Pringle and Pea are somewhat skittish to begin with, not very used to being held, but they both quickly find that human touch isn’t as terrible as they had initially thought, especially when they can feel the affection and love deep in your intent. They will absolutely melt at the mention of group cuddles after a long day, but are perfectly content napping with each other. 

The two are very close and practically attached at the hip, never really seeing one without the other too far off. Pringle and Pea are much more tame alone, but when they’re together, they feed off each other’s mischief and become complete menaces. 

Their bond can be best described as being thick as thieves.

Side effect is he’s unfortunately a bit destructive, and fully aware of it. If you ask nicely, he’ll try to avoid chewing up your nicer things but no promises.

The adventurous one 

Favorite past time, after biting, is urban exploration. And by that he means he enjoys dumpster diving and finding cool little trinkets (mostly bottlecaps)
