GOOD MORNING. usually, i don’t do things like this. it feels a little braggy to me, to be quite honest. but really, this isn’t a post about me. this is more of a humongous THANK YOU to the people who have made this past month or so on tumblr super fun. i picked up this character again, thinking she’d be pretty niche. as it turns out... not really the case. it’s very flattering to have had so many people react so warmly to both coraline and myself. i can honestly say that i’ve been able to cultivate a really positive, really fun experience with you all here. i could not be any more thankful. so, without further ado, let’s get to the CALL-OUTS: the who’s who of the people who make me down nine shots of tequila every night.

Halsey - Manic (17th January, 2020)

every day i thank yoongi for featuring on this album and giving me a reason to listen to it. there was a week to a month at the start of lockdown (time meant nothing who knows) that this was just on repeat. it’s so well ordered as a full album which is So not expected from an album with So many singles and i Love it. some tracks i keep coming back to include: suga’s interlude (obv.), more, and still learning (but like, just listen to the whole album honestly)

BTS - Map of the Soul: 7 (21st February, 2020)

last year i absolutely adored mots: persona, and i guess this is almost kind of a repack? honestly as an Album if confuses me BUT i also loved so many of the new tracks i couldn’t leave it out. some top picks: ugh! (욱), we are bulletproof: the eternal, and filter (my top played bts song of 2020 on spotify oops)

5 Seconds of Summer - Calm (27th March, 2020)

listen lockdown was a weird time and i maybe had a brief 5sos Moment bc tbh it’s good pop! i listened to this whole album a bit, but i kind of whittled it down to the 8/12 songs i really liked (that are all on my top songs so i couldn’t Ignore it...). some of the favs are red desert, easier, and lover of mine

Day6 - The Book of Us: The Demon (11th May, 2020)

day6 literally have never released a bad song. it is actually impossible. a well constructed album top to bottom. musically interesting but never unpleasantly challenging? also yoon dowoon melting my heart with his vocal lines 🥺 what a band, what a group. i rec the whole thing but, let’s highlight day and night (해와 달처럼), love me or leave me, and afraid (also sungjin’s demo track for it i’m Still crying it’s so good)

Tomorrow x Together - The Dream Chapter: Eternity (18th May 2020)

i nearly picked txt’s other ep this year entirely bc i loved ghosting so much, but as a full set of tracks i like this one more. nothing could ever beat run away as a single, but can’t you see me did it’s very best. a quality sampling of what txt is capable of. picks: drama, can’t you see me?, and fairy of shampoo (wow txt’s SEO Sucks and their korean titles are so Long i’m not going to put them here)

Day6 (Even of Day) - The Book of Us: Gluon - Nothing Can Tear Us Apart (31st August, 2020)

it’s a perfect album. beautiful, amazing, chef’s kiss. i am a Sucker for a concept album in general but the way the story progresses with the denimalz interlude tracks is so Cute and Fun. it’s totally fine that it’s only 18min long bc i could listen on repeat for days on end. i adore every track but i’ll recommend the intro: landing, interludes ocean and forest, and Especially the outro: to be continued (just listen to the full album!)

Stray Kids - GO生 (GO Live)/IN生 (IN Life) (17th June/14th September, 2020)

i kinda fell off following skz for a bit after the I Am series ended and i wasn’t sure i’d ever get back into them, but then i saw chan’s arms and hyunjin’s Hair and something Snapped. (also the release of skz2020 with all the re-recorded ot8 tracks with those han vocals??) top tracks: god’s menu (神메뉴), ta (타), back door, any (아니) (so many so many any anything etc.)

Taemin - Never Gonna Dance Again: Acts 1 & 2 (7th September/9th November, 2020)

it’s not cheating if it really was released as a package... i maybe have a slight bias toward act 1, simply bc criminal is like, one of my top songs of 2020. that said i don’t think there is a single skip? the way he has grown consistently since debut while still keeping a certain taemin Flavour is so impressive. tracks i particularly love include criminal, clockwork and pansy (cries in shawol)

BTS - BE (20th November 2020)

i nearly considered paying $100 for this on my first listen i loved every single track so much. i was sceptical when i heard it was only 8 tracks (7+skit) but everything about it is beautifully Bangtan, but in a very fresh way for an official album. you really can feel the contribution of every single member to the production. stand-out tracks are blue & grey, dis-ease (병), and honestly i Still love dynamite.

Honourable Mentions: Twice - Eyes Wide Open (i didn’t listen to the album much bc i couldn’t Stop listening to i can’t stop me) GFRIEND - 回: Song of the Sirens (i love them and the shift in their style of singles since being affiliated with bh has been interesting?)

my top ten favorite kpop singles of 2021 so far: first quarter edition (january-march)

10. Pixy - Wings: I’m not as into this song as other people, but it’s grown on me, and I think they have a lot of potential. I did not expect a group called “Pixy” to have this dark of a concept haha, I like that. I like the choreo and overall performance of it too, I think that’s the highlight for me

9. G Idle - Hwaa: Not my favorite G Idle title track, but I do think it’s in the top half. It’s interesting to me that they did this song, since it is pretty much all in Korean, there’s no English whatsoever (the only English is a “yeah” at the beginning haha), which for a group like G Idle who has used a lot of English in the past and is very popular internationally is kind of a bold choice, and I’m into it

8. Ateez - Fireworks (I’m The One): I’m still not fully sold on Ateez’s direction post-Wonderland/Answer, with the “end” of their pirate concept (possibly, it seems complicated lol, idk, but you know what I mean anyway), but I do kinda like this song! It sounds kinda like... European lmao. Like I keep thinking I hear accordion in the drop, but idk maybe I’m just imagining things. I mean all that in a good way, btw. Like a good kind of European (if you can imagine such a thing)

7. Shinee - Don’t Call Me: As someone who only got into kpop in 2019, and didn’t even get into a single boy group for like 6 or 7 months (and even then, for a while I just had one single token boy group lol), Shinee isn’t a group that I had checked out much from until fairly recently. I’m still new here, I suppose lol. But yeah idk, this song is good! I love the production and their obvious charisma and talent. Like, I can tell even just from this song that their reputation is earned. It’s just a solid release

6. Purple Kiss - Ponzona: I do prefer Skip Skip, but I decided to limit this to singles and title tracks. I also prefer My Heart Skip a Beat (by a lot, actually), but that came out last year lol. This song has really been growing on me a lot though! Like, a lot actually. I like the violin, I think that’s a really interesting touch haha, I feel like that adds so much to the way the song sounds overall. Yuki’s rapping is impressive too, I like her flow in every song I’ve heard her in so far, especially since she writes her raps herself and Korean isn’t her native language. Honestly that’s one of the most impressive things about Purple Kiss... they seem to be involved in writing all of the things they do! That’s SO RARE for a group to do right from debut, especially for a girl group! I think that’s a great sign that things are changing, and girl groups are being taken more seriously and being allowed more creative freedom than ever before. Ponzona was literally a song written for a monthly evaluation when they were trainees. That’s really impressive. Skip Skip was too, but yeah lol.

5. Pentagon - Do or Not: I mentioned that for a while I just had one token boy group that I liked, and that was Pentagon haha, they were my first. I like that this is a return to their fun sound, but in a different way... like, this song doesn’t sound anything like Shine or Naughty Boy lol. Pentagon are just really good at conveying passion in their songs and I think that shines through here too! I like the way the bass and percussion sound, that’s just quality mixing lol. I also love that even though it’s this kinda pop-punk-ish-doo-wop-ish kpop song, it still has a bit of sadness underneath the fun, which is something I think is a trademark of Pentagon’s style haha. But mostly, it’s fun

4. Tri.Be - Doom Doom Ta: The main reason I checked this out was because it was written and produced by LE from EXID, and you can really tell haha. In fact, her voice is in the song at certain points, and like... she has a really distinctive voice lol. Anyway this song is like a pretty hard commitment to this Latin/moombahton kind of sound, and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that trend in kpop, but either way, I do think this song is a bop. I’ve had it on repeat way more than everything below this point, in fact all the songs in this top 4 I’ve had on repeat like an order of magnitude more than the songs from 5-10 lol. it’s been a slow beginning to the year. I don’t have a lot of specifics to mention here about Doom Doom Ta, I just think it’s an earworm

3. Weeekly - After School: This was really highly anticipated for me, because I love their previous title tracks. Tag Me especially is a song I consider to be almost perfect, which is not something I say about very many songs at all haha. I personally don’t think After School is quite as good as Tag Me or Zig Zag, but I do really like it! It’s always good to get more fun, exciting, unashamedly catchy songs haha, it’s a breath of fresh air. I love this concept for them too, I think it fits them really well! They’re just a lot of fun. This mini-album, We Play, is my favorite of theirs so far too, though that doesn’t necessarily affect my placement of this song in particular

2. Cherry Bullet - Love So Sweet: God damn, this song is really good. It’s really simple, but that works to it’s advantage imo. I love that the background melody of the instrumental during the verse is the same as the vocal melody in the chorus (or at least very close), that’s just super satisfying. Ending the song with an extended “da da dadada da da” segment was a big risk too lol, that could have been annoying, but idk I think that really is one of the highlights of the song. This song feels like the kind of song where the songwriter came up with that melody and went “YES! this is IT! YESSSSS” and they knew they had come up with something really, really catchy, and they built the rest of the song around showcasing it. And it works!

1. Dreamcatcher - Odd Eye: This probably isn’t much of a surprise lol. But similar to After School... This isn’t my favorite Dreamcatcher comeback, and tbh I think it’s my least favorite of the Dystopia trilogy. But like... that’s still enough to make it my favorite song of the first quarter of 2021. It’s great, I love the way they do the cyberpunk concept and sound without going into the synthwave direction like Everglow La Di Da did. I love La Di Da a ridiculous amount, but I just mean that it’s nice to see variety even within a similar overall concept. Also! Handong is back! And she crushed it! In previous title tracks she and Gahyeon often got the least amount of lines by far, and the least amount of screentime and such, and Gahyeon definitely got times to shine during Scream and Boca and made it clear that she’s leveled up a lot, and I was really hoping that Odd Eye would be able to do the same for Handong (without sacrificing Gahyeon’s screentime and lines)... and yeah, it really was, lol. Handong was all over this song, and her voice reaaaaaally complements this sound. This group has no weak links, and obviously all of us already knew that, but now even the people who only casually listen to them know that without a doubt too.

idk... i’m not totally sure about this list but that feels mostly right to me i guess. I feel like Odd Eye is definitely my favorite so far, but to be honest I don’t feel like it’s the Song of the Year. like, if it had been released in 2020, I don’t think it would have made my top 10. If nothing better than Odd Eye comes out for the rest of the year then sure, it will be my SOTY haha, but idk, I just think that there hasn’t been anything *truly* great so far yet. And that’s okay... I’m very picky about this kind of thing. I don’t give high scores to things that don’t deserve it lol... and like in my opinion there were only 4 songs in 2020 that are the kind of near-perfect instant-soty song I’m talking about, and three of those four came out in the second half of the year. So the fact that I don’t think anything so far has been at that top level isn’t a bad thing, and isn’t really something I’m worried about. I think we definitely have not gotten the best songs of the year yet (unless everything else ends up sucking lol, but idk i hope thats not what happens...)

oh also there was an WJSN comeback today, and that would probably have been on this list, but I havent heard it yet because i was waiting until I finished writing this haha. like, since it came out on March 31st, tbh I’m just gonna count it as an April comeback, so i’m sure it’ll be in my list for the second quarter that i’ll post at the end of June lol. i mean, unless i dont like it. but i’ll probably like it haha.

Dogs or cats: the question above I didn’t answer bc I’m indecisive but this one I can’t answer because I have a cat and two dogs and how can I choose a favorite? Like my 8-year-old dog is so sweet and cute and she likes going on walks for at least an hour with me and I love her but my 8-month-old dog is a piece of shit who tears people apart but she’s also really cute and she can be really fun when she’s not giving you really bad bruises bc you made the mistake of trying to play frisbee with her and now you have to walk around looking like someone dropped a fridge on your arms for two weeks but then what about cats right like my cat was like 12 or 13 when I got him last year and he’s an old man and he just curls up on my bed all day and sleeps on my Supernatural blanket and then I go to bed and he sleeps on my sweatshirt on the floor until like 8 am when he decides it’s a good time to crawl on my bed and tap me in the face until I wake up and ahhhhhh I just love themmmmm

Hour of sleep: I spend at least 12 hours lying in bed with the lights out and my phone away every night but how much of that is sleep and how much is eternally cringing at my horrible life decisions is unknown

I have to move my stuff into college on Monday and I had an existential crisis trying to figure out what to do with my blankets like my mom got me a super soft, super warm cat blanket for Christmas specifically for school so that’s gonna come and I wanna bring my Supernatural blanket bc that’s good for a warmer night and I wanna bring my Frozen blanket because it’s so warm and fuzzy and I wanna bring my snowman blanket I got as a Christmas gift from dance last year bc it’s so cozy and I wanna bring my super soft blanket I got from work for Black Friday last year bc it’s super soft but I wanna bring the yeti blanket with the hood and buttons and mittens built in which I got from work the Black Friday before that one because duh who wouldn’t want to bring that and I wanna bring all my blankets right except I also have two weeks at home after I move my stuff in and I won’t have space to bring more blankets when I move in on the 31st bc half my duffel bag is going to be my giant stuffed Perry the Platypus I got from a friend a few months ago so I’m leaving my snowman one on the couch downstairs and my work one on my bed and my yeti’s gonna hang out by the closet with my similar Olaf blanket (that’s meant for little kids and does not fit which I didn’t know when I bought but but at least I worked at Target at the time so I got an employee discount?) probably until I come home for Thanksgiving and I’ll take my yeti blanket back with me then and wow this was a really long answer but in my defense it was a very open-ended question

When and Why I’m here: uhhh idk what exactly it means by “when” bc I made my main blog @kittyhazelnut and my Supernatural blog @gabrielsbackbitches in like 2017ish (or whenever it was my fav character came back just to die again a month later) but this blog i made in May (idk the date but it was whenever I posted my pinned) so take your pick for that one. Why I’m here? I was talking too much about Phineas and Ferb on my main and I decided to make a side blog for it with no intention of it getting big (I mean my marvel blog @marvelbutmostlyloki has been around for a year or two and it has, like, 10 followers so clearly side blogs don’t always work out in my favor) and then I posted that screenshot of Vincent tweeting about Perry the Platypus statues replacing Confederate statues and people decided to follow me and now I exist purely to promote the new Phineas and Ferb movie to casual Phineas and Ferb fans (no jk I do love promoting the movie to casual fans but I do most of that on Twitter. I found a whole bunch of fun people in the Dwampyverse fandom and it’s like our own little private party in a dark corner of tumblr and it’s honestly the most fun I’ve ever had in a fandom, and that’s coming from someone who’s been in the Supernatural fandom for five years)

Reason for URL: I use the phrase “I would die for _______” way too much in my everyday life and I couldn’t think of a witty URL so I went with that lmao

Current time: 8:55 pm and I should probably stop staring at a screen in the middle of a dark room at 9 o’clock at night if I’m planning on being up and out of the house with a full face of stage makeup on in under 12 1/2 hours for my dance comp whoops

ALSO ok so i feel like for day one of gruvia week writers have to get kinda creative??? cus i dont wanna just rewrite the whole scene. SO this drabble is piggybacking off of a certain scene. only the first bit is canon the rest is from mwuah. ok now enjoy lmao.... ok one more edit.....heard someone say its april first in japan rn...???? sooo... im posting this now hehe!!! even tho its 9:00 PM on the 31st where i am. close enough. can u tell im super excited.

"Your body is..." Gray was in the middle of scolding a very drunk Juvia.

"Juvia's body is?" She looked up at him from the ground, her face slightly twisted in confusion.

Gray had just then only realized what he was saying. It started out with him simply saying that Wendy would be able to fix the scar Juvia attained from their fight amongst themselves and Invel. It was only when Juvia flipped it onto him, saying that he could also have his scar fully healed, that he realized why he was saying what he was saying.

Gray's face burned with embarrassment as he looked down on Juvia's adorable face that was highlighted in pink, and after a long awkward pause he quickly broke eye contact and turned his head away.

"Your body is..." He muttered. "Something...I care about...'cause you're mine...kinda. Um." He tripped over every word that left his mouth.

Juvia's face lit up with excitement from Gray's bold, but poorly spoken, words. She giggled.

"Gray-sama is so romantic!" She sat back on her knees and held her cheeks with delight.

"H-hey!" He stammered, snapping his gaze back to Juvia's. "Don't go off gettin' crazy ideas! I was just sayin'!" He huffed and crossed his arms.

"Just sayin' that Juvia's body is a beautiful perfect temple that Gray-sama wants to protect at every cost!" She was slightly slurring her words.

"N-no!" Gray's face could've melted off with embarrassment. You show your emotions one time and suddenly you're a damn cassanova.

"Yes you most certainly are!" Juvia practically leapt up from the ground with exhilaration. It wasn't everyday that she got to hear things like that from Gray. Their relationship was somewhat new, afterall.

"Kya!" She yelped. In her dazed excitement and drunkenness, her heel slipped from under her foot, causing her ankle to twist, and she was on her way back down to the ground.

"Whoa!" Gray's eyes widened. He moved quickly, and he swiftly caught her just moments before her face hit the concrete. He carefully brought her back to her feet, keeping an arm wrapped around her shoulder to steady her.

"Jeez." Gray finally exhaled in relief. "You need to be more careful!" He was broken out in a nervous sweat.

Juvia chuckled under her breath. "See. You do worry about Juvia." She looked up at him, and Gray quickly realized their faces were only inches apart. He promptly took his arm away from her body and stepped forward.

"Come on." He ignored her teasing. "We should get back to the party." He looked back at her and it hit him that she wasn't wearing a top. She stripped it off during one of her drunk fits. His cheeks reddened as he immediately turned his head back to face front. "A-and we need to find you a frickin' shirt!" He was used to seeing her topless during battles, but when they weren't fighting it was a whole different context. It was like another world.

"If Gray-sama insists." Juvia said and began to follow Gray, but as soon as she took a step on that twisted ankle, a sharp pain stabbed at her. "Ouch!" She alleviated the pressure off of her foot and dangled it a few inches above the ground.

Gray instantly turned around at her gasp of pain. "What is it?" He asked, but he already saw the answer as she balanced herself on one foot.

He sighed. "Your ankle?" He asked, his voice as unentertained as ever.

Juvia gave a guilty nod. She really knew how to cause any kinda of trouble when she was drinking. First the tears, then the nudity, now this.

Without saying anything else, Gray walked back a couple steps, spun around, and crouched to the ground.

"Eh?" Juvia's impaired mind couldn't seem to put two and two together.

"Get on." His voice was low.

"G-g-get on?! Gray-sama's big muscle-y back?!" Juvia's face burnt and she found herself conflicted for some reason. It was all so much for her.

"Yeah. And we're not going back to the party. I'm taking you back to your apartment." He still wasn't looking back at her.

"What?!" She whined. "How come?!"

He finally turned his head "Because you're drunk, shirtless, and you're hurt." He faced forward again. "Just let me take you home."

She paused. She really wanted to go back to the party and celebrate Lucy's award some more with the others, but he was right. Not to mention his broad shoulders were way too intriguing to pass up.

"Alright." She said, mildly defeated, and did a little hop to get on his back.

Gray stood up and adjusted his grip so his arms were wrapped under her two legs as she had her arms chained around his neck, and he started walking.

"When we get back to your place, I'm gonna' come in for a minute and ice your ankle." He explained.

An idea popped in Juvia's imaginative mind. "Wellll," she sang. "It is pretty late. You might as well spend the night."

"Nah. Just wanna' sleep in my own bed tonight." He said, practically.

"Hmph." Juvia pouted and her head sunk into the crook of Gray's neck. "Gray-sama is so cruel."

"I'm sorry what was that? Do you want me to drop your drunk, limping, ass on the ground?" He teased.

"No!" Juvia squealed, clutching onto Gray harder than before, causing him to chuckle.

They walked on the outskirts of the venue of the party. It was still as lively and rambunctious as ever with all of Fairy Tail's members. Gray stopped for a moment. He saw a nearby bench and sat Juvia down on it.

"Stay here." He instructed as he walked away.

"Where are you going?" She called out.

"I'll be right back." He called back.

A minute or so later, Gray was back with crumpled up clothes in his hands.

"Here." He held out his suit jacket that he wore earlier that night to her in front of her practically bare chest. He looked away and blushed. "I couldn't find your stuff."

Juvia giggled with joy and excitedly snatched the jacket, putting it on her body in just a second. A smile curled on her lips as she wiggled in the coat, rubbing her arms up and down the sleeves. "So warm!" She cheered.

Gray was still blushing. He remained shirtless and said nothing as he spun around, signaling for Juvia to get on his back again, and she did so. He hoisted her up and returned to walking back to her apartment.

Juvia hummed with satisfaction and pushed her head up so her cheek was pressed right up against Gray's.

"Thank you for caring so much about Juvia's body." She whispered. "I'm very happy to be yours." She finished with a peck on Gray's cheek.

"Don't worry about it." Gray's scrunched face was coated with pink as he embarrassingly averted his gaze.

Although Gray wasn't always the best with words, Juvia could always count on his actions to tell her what he was really feeling.

And if actions could talk, she is sure they would be saying "I love you".

5 years 🥺💕

So, as some of you might know, today is a really special day for me. Today is not only the release of Miss Americana (which I am SO excited for) but it is also 5 years since Taylor followed me on tumblr.

January 31st, 2015 at 5:02pm was one of the craziest moments of my life. At that time, I was 14 years old, I had just started grade 10 at school, and a lot was going on in my life. A close family member was in hospital, I was dealing with bullying at school, and struggling a lot mentally.

When I first started my blog, I was so excited to talk to other swifties because almost no one at school accepted me for who I was, but everyone who I spoke to online just accepted me for who I am and it always put a smile on my face. Never in a million years did I ever think that the person I’d looked up to since I was 8 would like any of my posts or let alone, follow me.

My sister and I were sitting at home on our laptops, hanging out with everyone on tumblr. This is when the afternoon changed my life in a way that I never thought possible.

I was sitting on the floor with my laptop on a chair (idk why) and realised a had a new follower, because I had such a small amount compared to all thr blogs I knew, so getting a new follower was always really exciting for me, even though I never joined tumblr because of the followers, but to share my love for Taylor with others. I jokingly said to my sister, “Wouldn’t it be funny if it was Taylor?”

It wasn’t Taylor, but I wasn’t even upset because I was just having a really great time blogging about whatever 14-year-old me felt necessary (tbh I regret some of what I’ve posted but OH WELL 😂)

Anyway, suddenly I realised I had gotten another follower, my 89th follower (yes, I remember which number follower Taylor was, but it was fitting seeing as we were in the midst of the 1989 era) and once again, I jokingly said to my sister, “What if it’s Taylor?” Not at all believing that it possibly could be. But it was. I sat on the floor, staring at my screen, in absolute disbelief. I was speechless. Then an inhuman scream came out of my mouth and I just started crying & screaming some more. Clare was so excited and happy for me that we were both screaming so loud and she didn’t even think to check her notifications until a few minutes later, and Taylor had followed her too, which lead to more screaming and crying in disbelief that the actual Taylor Swift had pressed ‘Follow’ on our blogs.

My dad came in concerned that someone had tried to murder us, because our screams were just so scary apparently but I was so happy I didn’t care. Somehow, Taylor always appears when I need her most, and when she followed me, I’d been having a really difficult time, and it just made everything better.

Days, months and years after, I still cannot believe it. In the beginning I would always check that it was real, because everything felt like a dream. It was, but it was a dream come true.

I feel like ‘thank you’ will never ever be enough to express how truly grateful I am, but there are no words that could ever express what Taylor means to me, because she’s saved my life and I don’t know where I would be without her or her music.

The last 5 years I’ve spent here on tumblr with everyone have been absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to spend forever with all of you, getting excited over music or concerts or whatever is happening. I love all of you so much, thank you for accepting me for who I am and thank you for being a second family to me.

I’ve learned a lot about myself and about life and growing up in the past 5 years, but Taylor has been there every step of the way and her music has helped me through everything. I’m so thankful for the memories I’ve made, and I can’t wait to make even more.
