like I've only read the idw comics, played the first 3 games, saw like 10 minutes of sonic boom years ago and the rest is Tumblr osmosis

Yuu OC - Mulan ⚔️

Pt1 An interesting concept

I’ve always been curious about the direction that TWST could go in regards to MC being a girl.

One of my favorite examples of this being this fic by DuckInSuits on Ao3

Now this inspired me to watch Mulan because it is one of the most famous “girl disguised as boy” story (other than OHSHC) that I know of.

Since literally almost everyone is twisted off someone (idk who Jack is tho) +the Disney references that make me cringe sometimes just because I know the existence of Disney, why not make the MC also twisted off something?

I just feel like the in canon MC does seem like the type of person to kind of work hard with what ingenuity they have since they live in a worn down building and pass classes they have zero prior knowledge on.

And they do kinda use their brains to figure out shit, especially with the overblots !!

Idk i just think it would be an interesting dynamic to work through

None of that liar arc tho, that usually stretches on too long but like… yk

I really enjoyed the fic because it made us connect with Cater (and I believe Ruggie?) in ways the normal canon didn’t explore. It made me empathize with them and actually be invested in their relationship with the MC. And I like how it shows just slice of life stuff like MC making pancakes in Ramshackle dorm/needing feminine pads.

Moments like these really give us a moment to stop and breathe to notice the story’s surroundings while making it believable and lived in. It balances out action and pure dipshitness.

Honor to us all + Reflection

in regards to this while listening to Honor to us All, it actually made me think of a believable motivation for my said OC, she ran away because she didn’t want to get married, and didn’t want to pretend to be someone else just for her parents (and by extension society) to accept her

Now I know this motivation is more selfish than not wanting your elderly father to fight in a war but remember TWST characters ≠ their twisted counterparts. (Ex. Rollo is less pure evil than Frollo). And I think this could be an interesting motivation since her journey going to TWST could make the MC realize her actions and make her decide whether she did was right or wrong (=character development)

A Girl Worth Fighting For

You cannot make me believe every single man in an all boys school is 100% feminism core.

I think that’s where a girl worth fighting for could come in. (Deuce not included he is a feminist) but the 1st year friend group being a lil (while unknowingly) sexist in regards to how they see a female romantic interest, then later drinking respect women juice after realizing the strongest (they fought 6 overblots stfu yes they are) one in their fg is in fact a woman (and later apologizing to her lol)

It’s self explanatory based on what I said earlier but I’m not sure who could be Shang in this song 😭😭. Personality based it’s either Vil or Riddle, Physically it’s Leona (he would not give a shit other wise), unless it’s for spelldrive)

Summary: Overall this is more of a Yuu not based on having a love interest, but as a character based on an icon (✨).

This has just been on my mind for a bit about an AU that I do not have the skills to write about l…but it’s for all you girlies who prefer pants over skirts and generally dont like to be categorized as feminine 🔥

TADC Headcanons

So, I thought it would be fun to do parental headcanons for the amazing digital circus. (Also one question: Why does google misspell Gangle as Jungle?)

Let's start with you.

You were a naive child who was highly curious. Out of curiosity, you put on a headset. The next thing you knew, you couldn't remember anything. You kept having a constant feeling that something was wrong. You felt scared as you stood somewhat trembling on some sort of stage. But then, you see that someone has noticed you. Maybe they can help.

Let's move on to the characters

Pomni

Pomni looks flabbergasted upon seeing you. She definitely wasn't expecting to see a child in the circus.

Pomni starts to panic. But she calms down a bit and reaches out for you. It wasn't long before you followed her around feeling comforted by her presence. She starts to question your behavior.

When you called her "Mom" for the first time, she started to get her "sessions". Despite being overwhelmed by being called "Mom", she starts treating you like a child of her own overtime.

Pomni begins to feel overprotective of you. And will sprint away while dragging you like a blanket. She also told you to stay away and never interact with two people she described as a "Pile of cavities" and an "Emo easter bunny". So you start to calling Jax the easter bunny which annoys him so flipping much.

Jax

Jax acts uninterested in you at first, and shrugs it off as some joke by Caine. That is, until you suddenly feel yourself being taken away at full speed, and noticing a weird black giant zip away in your sight briefly.

When you come to a stop, you spring out of a unknown grip and notice a purple rabbit get up from the floor and state that it was really a close call for you.

Jax is flabbergasted when you called him "Papa". He started to grow fond of you slowly. To the point where he will sprint away while holding you tightly to his chest when there's danger near by.

Also he will probably teach you to be a menace like him.

Ragatha

Ragatha is worried about you. After comforting you for a bit, she begins to show her motherly figure towards you.

She isn't surprised when you call her "Mom". She starts treating you like her own child.

She is very protective of you. She will kick Jax to keep you from getting bullied.

Gangle

Gangle becomes a mother figure to you pretty quickly. She enjoys snuggling you with her ribbons.

She's basically Toriel from undertale at this point.

Kinger

Kinger is obviously the most questioning character towards you. He walks off and forgets about you. That is until he sees you again and screams.

He lets you sleep with him in his pillow fort and shows you his insect collection.

He is overjoyed when you call him "Daddy". He loves telling you about insects. He occasionally gets the random dad instinct when he feels that your in danger.

He will give you piggyback rides.

Zooble

Despite their sarcastic personality, Zooble is concerned for you. They take you in and start telling you to not be the nice kid to some "Stupid bunny guy".

They get beyond pissed when someone makes you cry. They will track down the person who bullied you and strangle them.

Zooble is now more careful of what parts they choose. They don't want to "Hurt" you on accident.

Caine

This time, you show up during the theme song. "My, my! It seems like a new human has entered this realm!" Everyone then comes to the horrible realization that your just a kid.

Caine entertains you with tricks and letting you watch the other circus members going on the adventures.

Yes he will give you piggyback rides.

He tries to keep you away from bubble incase he?She?They? (IDK) scares you.

Hi, OTNF & Co (and YoungerThanNetFic)! So, I have a question.

When I started out doing gift exchanges and the like, I thought the idea was to not force your own vision on the prompter, and that in return you would be left a modicum of, you know, leeway in your own endeavour.

So yes, you'd follow the prompt(s) given, respect the DNWs and the wants if given, of course! But I've always felt that expecting someone to write exactly what you want was a doomed thing--the only person who could hit your buttons just so was yourself, and chance might make it happen sometimes when you find you read THE fic, but you can't expect a mystery person whose skills you don't know to just do it. That seems... unfair, compared to letting them play to their own strengths?

If I'm expected to follow a very detailed plot already outlined for me, then I know that I will have absolutely no desire and worse, no ability to do it. All I'm left with is "Why don't you write it yourself if you already know everything that's going to happen?" (If you couldn't tell, I'm definitely not someone who likes detailed scenario prompts, lol. Best way to get me to dry up instantly).

I thought the idea of gift exchanges would be to accept a little bit of surprise, at least--sure, I prompted, idk, "Space Pirates AU," but I wasn't expecting the vampire twist! I've also always considered fandom events to be for the entire fandom, not just the participants; I thought the goal was to make your giftee happy with a story they'd like, sure, but that you put in effort to make it good for them AND everyone else who might enjoy it.

But then, I've seen and heard different things; that one should follow a list of very detailed wants (the... letter? for Yuletide? I've never participated so I'm a bit ??? about Yuletide) and that somehow everyone was apparently expected to be able to write stuff they don't vibe with or even dislike, if the needle falls on you. I'm assuming a modly human touch is supposed to help with that, but now this is all making gift exchanges look quite scary instead of an exhilarating perspective.

It depends very much on the exchange and the people.

I personally love outline-level prompts as long as the person gets that I might write something else.

For Yuletide, I do generally consider it a present only for that one person because it's quite possible that nobody else cares about slashfic of Medieval Spanish books of proverbs or whatever.

Letters in Yuletide are optional to write and optional to read. The writer isn't obligated to follow any of your details other than DNWs that are listed in the actual signup, and they aren't even obligated to click the letter link.

Since they can already do whatever they want, I generally write fairly specific ideas and don't offer a lot of "You don't have to write my ship" waffle.

IMO, the key is that the more detailed your requests, the more variety you should give for each ship/fandom/whatever.

But really, most exchange participants are pretty low key. It's just the absolute die-hards who circulate massive lists of "rules" that appear nowhere official and make the whole thing more stressful.

I having lots of emotions about not graduating this spring this evening and I don't appreciate it.

#my friend just got offered a national parks job #which is what he's wanted for years #we took a class together two falls ago and he was talking about it then #and i am so so happy for him #he has worked his ass off and deserves it #but i am also so sad for me #i feel like i've lost so much time to being sick and like i haven't accomplished the things i wanted to in college #but everyone else around me is #national parks jobs. fulbright finalists. grad school applications. editor of the school paper. starting a band. getting engaged soon. #idk i know this will pass and five years from now this will not seem like a big deal #but right now it is so heavy #and also i'm pretty lonely in my real life right now #my roommate spends so much time with her boyfriend who lives an hour away #my other friends are so busy i rarely see them #i don't live on campus anymore so i don't have a nearby community #i get most of my social interaction with my residents at work #and i love them but i do desperately need other kinds of social interaction #anyway everyone ignore this

not to be an extreme Mike defender (i mean i am-) but i just want to point out that El's whole idea of a romantic relationship comes from tv and we all know how they are portrayed...the moment the guy and the girl confess they're making out and fucking. the amatonormativity in tv is strong, it's also why i had such a hard time coming to terms with me being aroace. when i was younger in my mind relationships=sex/making out because that's what television told me. so El probably thought the same. that now that her and Mike are dating they have to make out all the time. Mike took unhealthy relationships he sees in his life as an example (st*ncy who were kissing all the time) and El took tv romance as an example for their relationship (where there are romantic relationships protrayed as very sexual)

anyways i'm only talking about this because often when people talk about how Mike and El are unhealthy because they only make out all the time they kind of tend to make Mike into some asshole who took advantage of a naive innocent girl who didn't know better and made her think they have to kiss all the time and i just want to point out that they both were just kids and didn't know better and only took things they saw in other relationships as examples. they both are in this situation because of the heteronormativity and amatonormativity in this society so just...maybe let's not make Mike into such a villain...
