MHA CH 421 rambles

Ok so this was a chapter ok. Iam personally not a fan of what happend here but you do you.

I hated AFO's little monologue. introspection thingy and to be honest sukuna does it better. Look Iam critical of both jjk and MHA as they fail in their own aspects on certain things but dam I couldn't care less for AFO and his monologue I seriously couldn't. Yoichi as already dead and if AFO's goal was to be a supervillain from a comic and to reunite with yoichi then why not just idk get the doctor to do it for him or just die to reunite with AFO 🤷‍♀️. His whole thing about tragedy making people stronger or him not feeling anything didn't even hit well because his development sucks and him coming back feels repetitive anyway

Sero getting to respond to the things about tragedy felt so underwhelming I didn't like it. Sero throughout the whole and entire series lacked any screentime and development for him to be getting a big moment that should be given to another character feels like a horrible move. We seriously don't know of anything that has affected sero aka hurt him directly in the manga (aka something just him) so it all feels underwhelming and disappointing. Unironically, I feel like sero should of been one of those characters who left the story or just stayed as a minor character because hori is trying to develop and give him importance way too late into the story.

Where is inko?!?!?! So we see everyone heck we see the civilians, gran Torino, Kota and Eri all comment and hope for izuku to do something but inko his own mother isn't present. Now this probably means something bad is happening or will happen to inko but if nothing happens and she isn't present then dam classic neglectful inko strikes again ig or if they make it a gag that she fainted out of stress i will just hate it even more

I hate that this is something out of the endgame and if hori was trying to be like gege by making everyone join it felt rubbish. Iam not a fan and I mean it I HATE the whole everyone joining in to fight AFO together type thing and I just do. To me it's Izuku's time to shine and people take down villains and do their jobs in other areas at this point everyone is doing more damage to AFO than Izuku who hasn't even landed a hit on izuku. Also why is it that character like Todorokis who have had their big moments here?!?!? It seems like this is a fight where hori is trying to make everyone have a moment before Izuku lands the final hit which doesn't sit right with me. Like there are characters here who have already had their moments like jirou, camie, yuuga, asui, mina and way more but they're here to ... Assist in the fight have another big moment and make AFO more of a potato character then a proper scary villain

present mic is back which I love. One of the good things is that present mic is alive, it's good to have confirmation of that

Even though I think erasers writing is heavily flawed at least someone is holding Izuku. At least izuku is getting something , some comfort out here at least someone is holding him but dam this seems like a disservice all of this seems like a disservice to izuku. Like I wonder do the civilians feel guilty does anyone feel sad or guilty for having this 16 year old child fight something way bigger than him in the name of peace and other peoples safety?

I think the whole thing with Izuku getting that guy's shirt is rubbish and underwhelming. It just doesn't sit right with me, that guy's shirt would of probably been dirty as hell considering it's the only thing we have seen him wearing. Like @mikeellee told me it would of been more impactful if the shirt was given to izuku and that guy had a healing quirk or helped izuku more directly. Now I get that this is supposed to make the guy more likable and show that he ahs developed which we can see and dam hori can actually give some decent development when he wants to but it all falls flat and doesn't do much for me. Also I have seen someone say that izuku wearing this shirt and it covering his upper half is showing how he is losing his ability to be a hero and dam that breaks me.

I can't with the Izuku running to the battlefield and the parallels kill me (we haven't really developed/moved on from chapter one considering the story just loops around itself). Izuku running towards danger quirkless thinking that it's his job because people who were supposed to help and protect him failed. Izuku now quirkless with only the tiny and fading embers of OFA thinning trying to defeat OFA with the damage of kudos quirk still effecting him. All of this to protect others to help them something he never got during the past. This fight will probably parallel all might but all of this happening and I feel nothing all of it falls flat and I feel bad for izuku that's it.

It was a chapter and considering how I hated previous writing decisions I was also gonna hate on the developed/expanded writing decisions either way

okay i know i really only post about steddie but i also have so many other ships and i had an idea while driving to work this morning (it may or may not have been slightly inspired by me blasting vigilante shit by taylor swift)

i'm imagining a famous au buckingham fic (with a side of steddie perhaps) wherein chrissy was a child star at the hand of her parents. it started with acting, but switched over to a pop artist career when she was 15/16. she's never allowed to write her own music, except on very rare occasions. her parents approve EVERYTHING. chrissy has no power over her own life whatsoever. she still acts from time to time, but most of the focus is on her music career. she's selling out stadiums full of young girls by the time she's 17.

nothing about chrissy cunningham's life is real. it's all just a show her parents force her to put on for the sake of money and reputation. not that she sees much of that money anyway. chrissy has money. she's actually considered rich to most. however, she should have more than she does. her parents squirrel away most of it with insistence that it's going into a savings account for her to access when she turns 21.

chrissy meets Corroded Coffin frontman Eddie Munson when she is 18, at the after party of some awards show. it had been his band's first award nomination. they hit it off instantly (platonically of course) and remain close friends from then on out. eddie is chrissy's rock. she tells him everything. eddie wishes he could do something useful to help her, but she promises that just having a real friend who isn't paid off by her parents is help enough.

into her 20s, chrissy is ready to grow up. she's ready to make the music she wants to make and stop portraying herself as a child. she wants to be the adult she is. eddie suggests getting out from under her parents first, bc they both know they won't approve of chrissy's desires. stuff happens, and chrissy learns that her parents had lied about the savings account. all the money they had promised she would get back was gone. they had kept it for themselves.

i haven't yet figured out exactly how robin and steve fit into this. maybe they're an actor duo who has so much on-screen (platonic) chemistry that they just keep getting roles in the same films, or maybe they're an up and coming indie duo trying to make their way into the scene. either way, they eventually meet and become friends (or enemies, who knows 🤷‍♀️)

something something chrissy eventually gets out from under her parents with the help of eddie, robin, and steve. she makes two albums of her own under the same label, because they made promises that she could finally be herself. when she realizes that isn't the case, she leaves the label and finds someone else. she has an entirely new team, she's figuring out her life with robin, everything is going well. and then maybe she finds out her old team at the previous label sold her masters to her parents (their plan all along). so now, she's not getting any money from any of her music. everything from when she was a young, naive teenager, all the way to the first albums she ever made solely as herself, is gone. her parents get all of it. she doesn't see a single penny.

that's all i've really come up with so far. idk it may be something, it may not be.

Twitter and Instagram are terrible for sharing anything. Cause it's like a hive mind. While I don't personally like April x any turtle, I'm not gonna tell someone not to create it.

But with tcest outright, yeah. No. Something has to be done. More than just "block the tag" cause it's gotten out of hand.

I just want something to be done. It just too much.

I'm tired of just, "it's not catered to you" yeah... You're right, but I feel like there's a deeper issue. Should we be scared for these people's families? Their sibling?

Or the "just block the tag" great, wonderful. So I have to potentially miss out on other creators because they say tcest dni and it gets blocked for me.

Cause guess what? I had the tag blocked for a while and it blocked some of my own posts and pretty much everything that says "tcest dni"

On top of that, the amount of times I've looked for screenshots from the show for bots and to see tcest is insane. It's not like it's a small handful of people, it's quite a large group anymore.

People can't draw/write siblings being siblings without it being called tcest is an issue. You can't create anything anymore without it being labeled as tcest. I'm so tired of it.

I know the Internet isn't catered to me specifically. But if you're just telling people to ignore incest... There's an issue. In the real world, something is always done about it, but online it's just "who cares 🤷‍♀️".

I never want to stop people from creating, but the fact that tcest is so normalized that if they hug you have to put "tcest dni" or "no tcest" .... It makes it feel like I — me personally idk about others — can't write them having sibling moments. Like they can be friendly, but they can't hug, they can't touch each other period.

Something actually needs to be done. Not harassment cause that's dangerous. But something.

But here's the thing. Without even talking about the rest of the world, take a look at what's happening in F1 right now. We've had issues with people acting on unproven claims and people are leaking stuff we don't know is verified and ruining people's lives in the process and very serious and potentially criminal things are being investigated. Meanwhile the media outlets are publishing clickbait after clickbait articles about these things and some of them are not doing their due diligence in verifying what they're reporting on either, perpetuating the rumours and the problem. Then you get to f1blr and people are jumping on every of these clickbaits to write thinkpieces sometimes without reading the articles and often without taking time to set aside what in these articles are rumours and what's actual facts. And it goes in circles.

So I'm not saying Alonso's quote is on that level. And you're right, we're not gonna research every single quote posted here, God knows I don't. But if you're gonna REACT to something, I feel like it's not even media literacy, but basic common sense to make sure you know actually what it is you're reacting to, to be honest. And that's a general rule that applies outside this quote or F1.

Like either don't react to every single thing you see, or do it correctly, or don't get defensive when it's pointed out that you interpreted it the wrong way because you didn't do it correctly.

oh, no, i get your frustration!!! idk i just try to ignore people because i've supported lando for so long that like, he could have bumped the wall and gone out in q1 again and my delusional ass would still be like "here's how we're getting a podium!!!" and it has nothing to do with like fangirlism or any of that and just so much to do with him telling us time and time again not to write him off to the point i couldn't even dream of it. he's done some impossible things with some less-than-optimal cars. even last year where he made some very costly mistakes in quali and not just worth like 0.043 seconds off oscar, he would be the last person to leave the paddock working with his team and strategists to try to fix things. and frankly that's why despite not always being a fan of some oscar fans, i am really glad he is lando's teammate. i think it's actually good for lando to be able to see again if there is more pace or potential in the car, if there are areas where he could improve. despite fans and media trying to act like him having close competition with his teammate is a bad thing, i think it's much better for him than dominating his teammate to the point where he could fuck up or have a messy weekend and still come out on top. people hate lando and call him washed over performances like this because they're so used to him dominating ricciardo, but that wasn't even really a teammate partnership in 2022 when the domination really started, it was lando carrying the entire team — which frankly wasn't good for lando's continued learning and development and isn't at all how any f1 team is supposed to operate. and i'd say the same thing if lando started underperforming to that level - but him getting outqualified by 0.043 seconds is nowhere on the level of the 0.400 seconds he used to be able to outqualify his teammate by regularly (and again, if both drivers are being of value to the team, no driver should be regularly outqualifying their teammate by 0.400 seconds 🤷‍♀️)

the best thing about them as teammates, and Lando himself has said this, is he's actually enjoying having a teammate who really really pushes him

Oscar being close is a good thing for Lando, to drive him to be the best he can be and strive for more, and also for the team

I think most people would agree that McLaren has one of if not the strongest of driver pairings, and even better they get along very well, both work very hard, and both seem to be just as team focused as they are on their individual performances

Little rant but I saw a semi recent post about how RedCrackle is weird cause Carmen mentioned how she sees Graham as a big brother and that shipping them is weird cause if the brother/sister dynamic and I’m like……. Why are people still arguing if it’s okay to ship TWO NON RELATED ADULTS 😭 almost been three years since the show ended and peope still think redcrackle is like Reylo or like pro ships😭😭😭 I could literally write a page on why RedCrackle is the ship that makes the most sense out of the show but I digress

So there hasn’t been any “official” proof that Mat and Maya broke up. Neither of them announced they were no longer together… but the writing is on the wall.

I believe they broke up just before the season started. The last time Maya posted Mat on her ig story was after Labor Day weekend when he went away with her and her friends. Maya did not attend the home opener October 13. She had her birthday party the next day (which btw was an off day for the isles so technicallyyyy he could’ve attended). Mat’s sister was in town and was not at the bday party either and noticeably missing from Maya’s outfit was the 13 necklace that she has been wearing for the past year. She hasn’t been pictured wearing it since.

The next couple weeks had Mat gone for a couple away games, Maya went to Mexico City and then to Florida for work but in this time she posted several pics from her trips. Mat didn’t “like” any of them. Mat also posted early October about his contract extension, which imo his gf should be ecstatic about… she did not like it. He posted his BMW a few weeks later and Maya has since liked it but it was several weeks after he posted it. Mat has also stopped liking mayas friends posts (except one… which idk 🤷‍♀️) and her friends also have stopped liking and commenting on his last two posts.

They did not spend thanksgiving or the Christmas break together. She did not attend the WAG Christmas party. On her ig year in review stories there was one one photo that was a group shot that Mat is in the background of from Labor Day. There are pictures from her trip to Italy and Florida with Mat. Just none of him.

She is now in Paris and the guy in those pictures who had people speculating is her brother.

Last post mentioned Maya has never been all about making her personality about dating a hockey player BUT she has very much been big on dropping the breadcrumbs and showing off him as her boyfriend.

I wouldn’t read intro he fact that she still has pics of him on her ig feed because she still had some of her ex until like 6 months in of dating Mat. (She actually still has one of her ex from halloween 2020 if you look)

And finally, the only reason I can possibly think up for Mat to defile his head the way he did by shaving his head would be a breakup. It’s the same as getting bangs after a breakup.

anw tbh writing these characters rly made me rethink my whole notion of red flags bc YEAH they've all kinda fucked up at this point (atsumu not only withholding info from reader but outright suppressing suna, suna hurting reader time and time again bc he's not emotionally mature enough to deal with a proper relationship, and reader lying to herself and hiding her feelings at the expense of the people she cares abt) BUT IF YOU THINK ABT IT they're also just doing what they think is the right thing.

idk if i have more sympathy for them bc i'm at a similar stage in my life where i'm both fucking up and being fucked up by people essentially still learning to be people, but i wouldn't say that anyone is going to "win" here by not being a red flag—bc let's be real, they would all be red flags if we were going to define it by a person essentially making a mistake 🤷‍♀️

- hmm this one’s really hard. I guess Nate but I do think they botched his s3 arc so that’s hard for me. I will say Sassy has barely any screen time and there’s literally no reason to despise her or write what people have written about her. Her talk w Rebecca in 1.7 was definitely victim blamey but she’s just not around enough to warrant the discussion around her that I’ve seen. Also in my opinion there is a certain point where you sort of need to get over hating every character that threatens your ship. Obviously they’re never going to be your favorite character but idk I find it lame 🤷‍♀️

Okay I’m really glad I sent that ask in now because I see I’m not alone in my thoughts😭

I couldn’t actually finish HOFAS - I found the second book in CC really hard to finish too so I’m kind of thinking you’re right in that it should have been a stand alone.

The crossover was the best part but I kind of feel like that’s even more evidence of her fame and editors getting to her in the sense that they are really capitalising on the acotar love🤷‍♀️ idk but that’s the main reason I’d love a new series. So she can just kind of start fresh with her characters and be kind of independent from the established fandoms

Book 1 of CC is probably one of my top three of her books and would be perfect as a standalone. I think she’s shooting herself in the foot by making these series (not including TOG) - CC was a mess by the end. The end of HOFAS is absurd (Hunt is too big for Mer underwear? Bryce makes Hunt’s trauma about her? Bryce finds packs of unused red thongs in someone’s house?). I think the longer her series gets without plans the more she kinda assassinates her characters (see: Bryce and Rhys).

I think her biggest problem is that she doesn’t keep records of things for the characters. She said she keeps it all in her head, which is fine, but when you write 7-8 books that are each over 500 pages for a series, you lose a ton of things along the way.

I’d love to see her try to write a standalone novel.

Anyway, the age-appropriate (Hankcon) reverse au is still bothering me, so I decided to write down the stuff I came up with in hopes of any of the following happening:

a) it'll stop bothering me

b) somehow it'll give me +50 IQ so I can actually write it

So, in this au Connor Stern is a 53-year-old lieutenant. He's workaholic. He's a functional drug addict (speed? definitely not red ice, I want it to be a stimulant), because it helps him 'be a better detective'. In reality he's just running himself ragged, taking up double the amount of cases than others.

This started getting worse when his brother died (Nines, idk what I'd name him in this au). He was in the military, and he died because some stupid war that Cyberlife started so I'm not sure about the timeline but. Due to this, Connor hates Cyberlife, he also hates androids, but as a product of Cyberlife, and not the androids themselves (I hope this makes sense lol).

Anyway, Hank is a prototype android made to hunt deviants. I want him to be like. Unstable, so I'd pull the 'haha, he was a deviant all along, but his memories were deleted' card. Which doesn't make much sense technologically, but it would make sense story-wise, I guess.

He'd deviate during development, because of a child named Cole. Well, I don't know if Cole should be an actual child (maybe a developer's child), or like, some kind of new generation child android who's also in development at the same time? Well, Cole would get into some kind of danger and then Hank would deviate, and Cyberlife needs to release him like asap, and they would go 'haha, just delete his memories Dave'.

But it would let Hank act out of his programming, and even Connor would ask him multiple times if he was a deviant, and Hank would say no, because he has no idea and he was always like this as far as he knows, so it's not suspicious for him at all 🤷‍♀️

Hank's zen garden would be a cozy home and his handler would be his friend Jeff. There would be... a lot more manipulation...

I'd also switch out like... all the cases? Not sure to what. But they could investigate some other stuff than... androids killing their owner. I'd also use the Kara and Alice part instead of eden club, so that Hank could get like... flashbacks with Cole and stuff.

That's how far I got (told you I'm not clever enough for this shit lol)
