anyway, a couple weeks ago I realized, 'hey my car is my car and I can decorate it with silly shit I like' and I just spent like half an hour putting teeny tiny kitty & stars & sparkles decals and stickers in cute little places all over the dash and gear shift and window buttons 🥰 what did you do for fun today?

I think 'cringe culture' is the next one that needs to be put up on the high shelf so people can't reach it. It's lost almost all it's intended meaning to me when people say 'cringe culture is dead' now because people use that deflect any criticism of poor behavior/bad faith takes. It's become not about, 'I like what I like, who cares!', or 'my blog, I post what I want!' and more about people expecting not only that their niche head-cannons will be respected, but that they will be validated and adopted by everyone in a ~fandom~, including creators and actors.

It's become an excuse to linger around in a fandom you've grown to dislike it and to spew negativity because, 'cringe culture is dead so I can rage about my ship not going cannon'. Because no one seems to understand anymore that they can walk away from a story at any time if it no longer makes them happy. Or even that their specific ideas for where a story should go are not necessarily even good, or the story the creators wanted to tell.

It's become a weird shield for people to wield when they are told that maybe, possibly, they may need to take a step back and log off and that it's not that deep. Cringe culture is dead so it's okay to be absolutely unhinged about something, even as a full-grown adult. There is no line between healthy enjoyment and unhinged obsession anymore cause 'cringe culture is dead!'

I think it's also fed into the whole belief that 'cannon doesn't actually matter do whatever you want!' crowd which, again, devolves into demanding that certain niche head-cannons or fannon takes are more important than cannon and people thinking it's okay and even correct to bitch at creators and/or actors.

so tired of the 'they didn't show us every single tiny little detail unfolding in this story so I don't find it believable' take like... part of watching a story unfold is connecting dots between scenes and picking up on the general narrative and actually engaging logically with what you're watching not just letting colors flash before your eyes

#this is both abt something specific and just very broadly also cause my GOD #are the tags of ANY show on earth full of these ppl #I don't buy this we don't see tons of x thing happening so I don't see the build up #are you aware not every element of a story is supposed to be The Big Thing #and that often creators are expecting the audience to follow along logically with the story/plot #sometimes you are supposed to pick up on subtleties and even use deduction to figure out minor logistics of a story #and yeah sometimes just make assumptions where it may be appropriate #I'm so tired of this 'every detail MUST be explained for this to enjoyable' crowd like fuck man #like idk I'm not explaining this well but it's just UGHH exhausting. not everything must be explicitly stated in a story to be understood #ESP on tv or in movies like omg #erin explains it all

the new cutest thing ever that's happening in my house is that I got Felix & Santino this cheap lil toy thinking eh fuck it they'll play with it for a few days

but the puff balls are so soft & small Felix can actually carry them in his mouth. He cannot do this typically because he was born without one of his lower fangs and it makes carrying things difficult.

So now, he will get one of the puff balls and start running through the house HOWLING as loud as he can to wake up Santino and bring the puff ball to him so they can play
