Tumblr media
Chapter one
The chilly October day in New York City didn’t bother you as you strolled along the brownstone line street in Manhattan, in fact, you were quite fond of it. Class has been a mess but you were excited to visit the pediatric hospital today. Stark Industries will host their annual charity in the hospital, something that you have adored for years.
The vibration of your phone caught your attention. You sweep the screen to the right when you saw the caller id. “Pumpkin, where are you?” You can hear your dad’s voice in a busy room full of background noise.
“I’m somewhere in Manhattan I guess. What’s wrong?”
“Weren't you supposed to arrive like 30 minutes ago? Your mom’s a bit worried right now. You know how she is after your accident”
“Oh, mom is in town? When did she arrive?” you walk a bit faster now.
“Like 2 hours ago. She said she missed her baby. Can you be here in 20? The guests are already in the hospital.”
“Okay! I’ll hail a cab now.”
The ride to the hospital is pretty fast since the traffic wasn’t so bad. You are greeted by some Halloween decorations when you enter the hospital. However, you can’t help but grin at the scary cute tidbits that adorn the hallway. Helping to decorate the hospital was a fun thing to do. You occupied yourself by selecting lots of balloons and knick-knacks to liven up the hall weeks ago. Your dad, Tony Stark has been working on advancing medical technology in the past couple years and this kind of event is always in his must to do list.
“Pumpkin!” A petite woman with a strawberry blonde hair were rushing to you. “Hi, mother.” She embraces you tightly which you returned eagerly. “My baby! Oh, I missed you so much.” She retreads and pinches your cheeks, a habit she always had since you are a baby. Her pastel blue blazer was a contrast from your mustard sweater and indigo jeans. “Mother stop it!” you laugh at her. Your mom takes pity on you and stops her attack.
“So how’s your wrist? Your dad said it’s getting better. I hope your school didn’t interfere with its full recovery.”
“It’s actually pretty great Mother, but the final recital kind of put me on pins and needle.”
“Just don’t push yourself too hard ok pumpkin?”
“Promise!”  Your mother finally let go and drag you to meet the small crowd at the front.
Since lots of nurses and volunteers were also wearing a costume, you can’t help but to live up to your nickname and join the rest of the people in the hospital. The bright orange bodysuit has that cute black jack-o-lantern face, far away from creepy. The costume also came together with a little cute stem cap that thankfully fit you. To make the appearance more appealing, you let the cap sit a bit to the right side of your head, strands of hair on the side of your face were let loose so the half up double braid still intact.
The small basket in your left hand was full of greeting cards from the Stark Tech staff, that you plan on hand deliver soon. Other baskets on the table near the fake ghost sweets, was created by people from across the country. Last month you get a bit carried away with Stark Tech Instagram post and upload a ‘special greeting cards’ for the kids in the pediatric hospital in New York City. Your aim was an extra smile to the kids with the cards and Halloween theme goody bag. Fortunately, it becomes a huge success to boost the fundraiser and you never been happier.
“Gentleman, thank you for coming today despite the busy schedule.”
“It’s nothing, Mr. Stark. I am happy we can participate in this charity”
You were immediately drawn to that distinctive low baritone voice. A glimpse of a brown hair took neatly in a low bun. The brushed plaid long flannel with port wine color with the sleeves roll up, display that notable bassist hands of Bucky. You arched your eyebrow curiously, how in the world does your father know Bucky Barnes and his band? Did Natasha tell your father about them? With a long sigh, you unlocked your phone and texted her.
“Yes sir, it’s a pleasure to be here. We love to do this kind of show as much as we can.” The blonde tall man known as Steve was talking to your father. “As long as we are in town, our manager definitely will arrange the schedule.”
“Thank you, Captain. I, for sure, will invite your band again.”
”The Instagram post on Stark Tech account was great. I immediately asked the gang to participate not only with greeting cards.” Bucky chuckles “we want to do more.”
“Oh yeah about that post, it’s my daughter actually.” Tony beams at that. “She’s been helping the PR since last year. She is here somewhere.” you immediately ducked behind a nurse when your father, start looking your way.
“Hmm strange, I just saw here near the table.” Tony’s left eyebrow furrowed, thumb and index finger on his chin, try once again looking for you. ”Anyway, the small stages are yours.” Tony clapped his hands on Bucky’s shoulder and retreat to talk with other parents and a kid who was wearing a ninja turtle costume.
The stage was actually a small area in the front of the hall. There sat a guitar and bass acoustic with three microphones and three performance stools. A small amplifier sat next to the left stool and a black cajon box drum situated to the far right
Because not all the kids and parents can join the rest of the kids in the hall, The Howler promised to visit the kids in their rooms and serenade them.
The kids, their parents, volunteers, and nurses apparently ready to watch The Howler. The band just released a new song for a Superhero movie called ‘Live to Rise’. The song became an immediate number one hit on Billboard 200 and i-tunes, a rare circumstance for a rock alternative band in this EDM era.
Bucky, Steve, Sam, and Clint were already sat on their position. The acoustic version of their songs has that unbelievable tone that sat well with the non-boisterous audience they usually have. Despite your hate towards Bucky, you can’t help but appreciate their performance.
A brush to your right shoulder didn’t go unnoticed but the fact that you know who is it made you loosen up.
“Hi… didn't expect to see you here.”
“Hi Scott.” You smile at him. “neither did I.”
“Nice costume, by the way, Cassie needs to buy this one.” His eyes can’t help but admire your costume.
“Dad, who is the pretty pumpkin?” a chirp of girly voice beside Scott made you sneak a peek.
“Oh, this is my daughter Cassie.”
“Hi, Cassie.” Scott introduced you to his daughter and explaining why he doesn’t go on stage with the others. You immediately offer a costume for Cassie and some strolling visiting the kids if she is interested.
“Our soldier was heartbroken when you slammed the door in front of his face.”
You suddenly tensed “Soldier? I am not sure I have any idea what this is all about?” suddenly the hem of your pumpkin costume is more interesting than the other things happen in the hall.
A small laugh escapes from Scott but your attention was distracted by the music of the next song. Bucky blue-grey eyes suddenly met yours, a startling display on his face, although he suddenly recovered and smiled. The need to flee is intense but it doesn't deter you from looking his way.
Bucky left hands dance around the mahogany neck between the frets of his acoustic bass, but his eyes never leave you. Right fingers slapping, alternate with the thumbing and plucking across the strings, generate that clean tone with volume. To the common listener, the melody of his bass might be overshadowed by Clint’s guitar, but not for you.
Sure, you have seen Bucky playing the bass before, live, but now seeing the acoustic bass been played with such precision, those odd sensations pull you back again. The music finally comes to an end and it freaks you out a little bit, unwilling to talk to the man yet.
“Cassie, what about we visit the kids and give them the cards and the goody bags?” a sneaky look at the stage gives you a glance on what Bucky’s doing.
“I can borrow you some Captain Marvel costume or a Unicorn.” Slowly and calculated, you are ready to escape from the hall.
“Daddy, can I go with her?” Cassie jumps a bit, excited to dress as Captain Marvel.
“Yes Jellybean. Don’t go too long, uncle Bucky might want to meet her.”
***
The hectic Monday had never been Bucky’s favorite, but he will do anything to get the forgiveness he is fighting for.
He thought he would finally get to talk to the woman he so stupidly dishonored. When he saw you at the hospital, he can’t help but trying to show off a little bit of his skill – stupid, he knows. After the performance, he even asked Steve for a break because he was determined to find you. Unfortunately, the lucky stars aren’t on Bucky’s side and he was once again left disappointed.
The chilly November in New York was always the same but Bucky absolutely loved the colors before it turns all white and wet because of the snow. The south street on the central park was adorned with a beautiful color. Not only it has the yellow ginko and gray birch leaves, but this part of the street also has red black cherry and pin oak leaves as well as an orange leaves of tupelo trees. Unable to resist capturing the scenery, Bucky starts doing an Instagram live, things he rarely did because he usually just post things like pictures of shows, his bandmate or his instrument. After fifteen minutes of walking through central park, Bucky finally arrives in the west street, his destination.
At first, Bucky had an appointment with Natasha but it’s actually an excuse of his intention to meet you. Eventually, Natasha gave in and giving Bucky information on what class you have today. To be honest there is a slight of agitation on Bucky’s, afraid of to be dismissed and branded as a bit of a stalker by you. But, when he reminds himself of the thing he said to you, he seriously wants to reflect on his wrong and apologize sincerely.
“Excuse me, I am looking for someone.” Bucky meets a man with a blue button-up and khakis pants. He doesn’t look old, probably in his mid or late thirty. Bucky gives him your name and showing the picture from Natasha’s Instagram.
“You are looking for Monet?” he asks Bucky curios.
“Monet?” Bucky confused.
“Yes, Monet. She is in the class, you just need to turn to the left.” The man checking his watch and look at Bucky again. “Class will be over in a minute, you need to hurry if you want to meet her. She has an appointment with Prof. Pierce.”
“Thank you, sir?”
“Rumlow, Brock Rumlow.” Bucky shakes Brock hand and dashed to the classroom quickly. To his disappointment, everyone seems already finished and only several students stay in class. With a defeated sigh, Bucky exits the class and walks through the corridor. For a second he thinks he sees a familiar silhouette at the far end of the hall and when the figure turns around, Bucky’s eyes meet yours. He watched as your eyes widened in shock and you hurriedly ran to an open door that Bucky’s assumed is the professor’s office.
***
“Malyshka, when will you stop being childish?”
“What?” you eyeing Natasha, hurt with her accusation. ”What is this about Nat?”
“Remember Bucky?” you groaned at Natasha when she said that.
“Sestra please, that was months ago.”
“I know, I know.” Natasha walks and sat at the bed beside you. “But don’t you think it will be better if you appreciate his effort to apologize? or better, let him apologize.”
“He never tries to apologize.”
“The thing is you didn’t let him try, don’t you?” Nat arched her eyebrow.
“How did you even know this?” you pout at Natasha.
“Well, he called me yesterday when you pull that latest escape from the class. Not to mention when you slammed the door in front of him.” Natasha added when looking at you, waiting for an excuse.
Along sighed escaped for you when you recalled what happened that Saturday night.
A Saturday night well spent, that’s might be the correct term the night. Especially before the so-called arrogant someone, knock on Natasha brownstone house.
Since Friday afternoon, Natasha has been dragging you out from your cave – your bedroom. The first week of the new semester has been difficult for you. Although the elective class on liberal arts and history wasn’t that hard, coming back after a year break definitely, taking a toll on your performance.
Natasha has been very supportive since you take a break from school last year. She always tried to include you in her so-called socializing activity, because she believed that you are too naïve and need more exposure to the wild ride.
Here you are at the cute brownstone that she shared with her roommate Maria. Maria is an art curator at a museum in New York but now is out of town visiting her boyfriend.
Friday night has been spent hopping from bar to bar with Nat. Saturday morning you spent quite some time in central park. The lake and the bridge is your favorite spot to spend the day for hours. That evening, Natasha initiates to just spend time at her home. Binge watched Netflix and eating pizza.
Your stomach growls loudly and your check the clock, noticing that the pizza is over 10 minutes late.
You heard a knock on the door and check the clock on the wall again. The pizza guy arrived 15 minutes late. Running from the couch, your hand immediately reached out the knob and open the door.
The view behind the door or more correctly, the person, wasn’t someone you had hoped to see. You stare at him wide-eyed. Never in your life, did you envision to meet the douchewagon again. Without further ado, you slammed the door in front of him. You winced when the door frame rattle slightly, it seems you slammed it too hard.
“Where is the pizza?” Natasha curious when you are coming back empty-handed.
“Uhh…no. It’s not the pizza guy. It’s just someone knocking on the wrong door.” You avoid looking her in the eyes, because if you don’t, she will instantly know that you’re lying to her, immediately. Sometimes you think that Natasha will be better as a spy than a ballerina.
“It’s not my fault! When he arrives at your house unannounced, I freaked out.” You explained to Natasha, although it also wasn’t a lie.
“Malyska will you let him apologized next time?”
“Sestra, why is it so important for me to forgive Bucky? I know that Clint is your boyfriend…” you winked at Natasha. “but, this has anything to do with me forgiving him or him apologizing.”
“It is important because you are my best friend and my sister and Bucky is my dumb cousin, but I also love him.”
“Your what?” you gasp in shock surprise. “Why did I never know this? Nat, I thought you don’t have any family in the state.” You can’t believe that Natasha didn’t mention her family. You have been friends for ages, and she knows almost everything about you and your small family of four.
“Well…I just knew this recently when I celebrate my nana 80th birthday two years ago in upper east. Apparently, my aunt moved to the state after she finished her school and married Bucky’s dad who is an American.”
“Ok. You don’t have any obligation to tell me anything. I mean I might believe the rumors that your family is a mafia back in Russia.”  A wide smile spread on your face and Natasha can’t help but giggling back at and throwing a pillow at you.
“Malyska, please give him a chance to explain himself. And he said he will do anything to gain your forgiveness so you might take advantage of that.” Natasha smiles mischievously at you and you can’t help but grin back at her.

1. What is your favourite camp/lodge in Botswana?
Elephant Sands; it’s just such a special spot in Botswana, surrounded by elephants all day, beautiful accommodation and the restaurant is just so worth it! Once you’re there you might as well spend time in the swimming pool and relax and enjoy the Elephants right in front of you.

2. What is your favourite African country or place to visit in South Africa?
One of my favourite spots to visit in South Africa, that’s quite tricky. There are so many beautiful locations, but one that really strikes me as something special is The Richtersveld National Park; it’s rough and wild, you feel like you’ve been transported to an extraterrestrial planet, but it’s all ours!
3. What is your favourite touring vehicle?
I used to have a Suzuki Jimny all kitted for touring, but I really stretched it beyond its capabilities. Recently I built up a Toyota Hilux, and man it’s just made for this stuff! It handles everything I throw at it, and I get a great nights sleep in my Eezi Awn Blade rooftop tent, without the vehicle feeling dangerous!

4. What does your dream road trip look like?
My dream road trip is definitely a loved one next to me and some buddies in convoy, setting off into the sunrise, pointed to The Botswana Border with hopes of getting to Lake Malawi to just chill and play around in the beautiful water and appreciate the amazing people and culture!

1. What is your favourite camp/lodge in Botswana?
I've only ever stayed in Botswana once, as a quick stopover en route to Zambia. So I can't say I have a preference.

2. What is your favourite African country or place to visit in South Africa?
My favourite African country, out of those I've visited, has to be Zambia, without a doubt. Although, Namibia's landscapes are a close second.
My favourite place to visit within South Africa has to be the Great Karoo, especially the Camdeboo Plains. There are probably many other places that offer more natural beauty, and I appreciate those as much as anyone else. But something about the Karoo will always feel like "home" to me.

4. What does your dream road trip look like?
I'm living it! I'm currently on a year-long adventure to explore my own backyard and hope to see everything South Africa has to offer.
After this, the route that the Put Foot Ralley follows is also one that I'd love to take on! Perhaps just over a longer time period to truly get to experience all of the places they pass through.

He will often take you through his set up on his car and he will also take you on some of the greatest adventures. We love his energy and we love his passion!
1. What is your favourite camp/lodge in Botswana?
I cannot pick any one place, in particular, every single place I visit in Botswana has something unique to offer in its own right. Limiting yourself to a single destination is like rinse repeat going to the same holiday home years on end at the same time of year.
I prefer the freedom of visiting new places and just not knowing what to expect. So with all of that in mind, I would have to say my favourite camp or lodge in Botswana will be the one I have not yet been to.

 2. What is your favourite African country or place to visit in South Africa?
Much like the camps and lodges, picking one country is tough, every single country comes with its own dynamics of culture, diversity, people and customs. Southern Africa is such is huge, you could spend a lifetime trying to explore it and would possibly never see everything it has to offer.
I am honestly however partial to Botswana and Namibia, I found I have lost my heart to both. I have to say both as they are so vastly different in every way. Botswana for the wildlife experiences, challenging driving as well as the people, I have met so many people in Botswana that have turned into life long friends, I am just in love with it. Namibia has its own almost what feels like heavy gravity to it, it’s vast, it’s open, it’s ever-changing landscape and views from just about anywhere are something I feel that everyone needs to experience.
[caption id="attachment_93492" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

Always keen for Adventure (Photo by My Life in Africa)[/caption]
You can go to Namibia 1000 times and be blown away at the vistas every single time. Another main thing about Namibia is I honestly think they made the sky bigger there….only kidding, but it certainly feels that way, it just seems on another level of HUUUUUGE!
 3. What is your favourite touring vehicle?
Well, mine obviously, I am constantly adding and changing things on my Troopy based on every bit of knowledge I gain from one trip to another, things that work, things that don’t things that just make everything you do on the road simple and efficient for either this or the next trip.
[caption id="attachment_93520" align="aligncenter" width="800"]

The Vehicle (Photo by My Life in Africa)[/caption]
It’s practical, strong and robust. “The Donkey” as we fondly refer to him (yes HE is a guy, he is just too muscular to be named after a lady) has become part of the family, he’s not just a tool, he has a personality, has his quirks but he, in general, is an all-round champ, you turn that key and you know for sure you will arrive at your destination without skipping a beat.
 4. What does your dream road trip look like?
This is probably the easiest question to answer of all of them. My dream road trip entails the wife, my daughter and myself, jumping into “The Donkey” aiming North with ZERO plans, ZERO timeframes and the entire continent ahead. With any luck this will become a reality once my daughter finishes school, I would like to take around 6 months to drive through Africa and then onto Europe and just keep going after that. In a perfect world, this would be a decision I could make right now, LET’S PACK, LET’S JUST GO!

The Man with the Plan Chris[/caption]
 1. What is your favourite camp/lodge in Botswana?
The best camping experience was at Kubu Island, I haven’t been to many “lodges”, but did enjoy Chobe River Lodge in Kasane. It was just the right thing after a few days in the bush.
 2. What is your favourite African country or place to visit in South Africa?
Favourite country other than SA is definitely Namibia. In SA it would be Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park for sure.
3.What is your favourite touring vehicle?
I’ve had a few and have gone full circle back to Ford Ranger double cab 4x4, 3.2-litre diesel. The one I have now is getting fitted out for a trip through Africa, so it’s going to be awesome before the photo is attached.

Hostarmada Review - Best or Worst Hosting of 2020? Honest Opinion
In this blog I will cover everything about Hostarmada with Pros and Cons including my personal experience with proof. So Read this blog till end to get a better review of Hostarmada.
Hostarmada Detailed Introduction
Before starting Hostarmada Review let us just talk about them first.
Hostarmada is a newly launched independent Hosting Company founded in the last quarter of 2019. Please notice one thing that I mentioned them as Independent which means they do not resell hosting from anywhere. They have their own dedicated Team for everything, from server management to Client Support.
As a Starter Hosting Company and as a beginner they have approx 2000 client told by one of their support members and I think its good number. Even I have migrated this blog from siteground to hostrmada after trying their hosting in demo site and checking performence. The reason is mentioned below
Technology used by Hostarmada Hosting
So let's start Hostarmada review with the most important factor of any hosting company i.e. Server Technology and Infrastructure. They have Cloud SSD based server like siteground but they are using Linode Cloud infrastructure instead of Gooogle Cloud on Siteground.
They have one thing that makes their server more powerful than siteground and another provider is LiteSpeed Technology. Now many of you are familiar with LiteSpeed but who are not let me tell you that LiteSpeed is something that enhances your normal Apache server without much interference.
-> Siteground Honest Review of 2020
The above image shows after using LiteSpeed the server load reduces to very low. Which means you can handle more visitor and requests on the same server after using LiteSpeed technology. Actually, It balances the load and increases the performance of both Apache and PHP. For More about Litespeed Visit here.
The second most interesting thing about LiteSpeed is, it is sole friendly with WordPress and if you use QUIC free CDN by LiteSpeed your website is going to load faster than the rocket.
The third surprise for you is LiteSpeed Plugin for WordPress. It improves code and image optimization and your caching is going to be super smooth with it. So these are the PROS of Technology used by HostArmada to make their Hosting server more powerful than normal cloud infrastructure.
Server Location Provided by Hostarmada
As a starting company, I am very impressed with HostArmada Server locations. As per my research, and also told by one of their executives (Bogdan Toshev) that they are using Linode Cloud Infrastructure which has a benefit for Indian Users because they are going to get Indian Server.
They have servers in ->
USA West Fremont, CA,
South Canada Toronto, ON
Europe London, UK
USA Central Dallas, TX
USA East Newark, NJ
Europe Frankfurt, DE
Mumbai India, IN
Asia, Singapore, SG
Sydney Australia, AU
You can better recognize geolocation of all servers provided by HostArmada by checking the above image
Hostarmada Server Uptime
So let's talk about one more fact that you should know while choosing any hosting provider i.e. Uptime of Server.
As an experienced blogger and my research on Hostarmada before the review, I can say with confidence that the server configuration and technology used by them is highly flexible and hence you will never notice any effective downtime.
Here is last few month Uptime details provided by Hostarmada itself about their Uptime.
Hostarmada Uptime Review
From the above picture, you can see 100% uptime and Ping of Hostarmada Hosting and this monitoring is done by me personally using freeping.io a free website monitoring tool.
I have personally monitored and tested their hosting form last 8 month. Here is last 8-month Uptime report
December 2019 average uptime: 100%
January 2020 average uptime: 100%
February 2020 average uptime: 100%
March 2020 average uptime: 99.99%
April 2020 average uptime: 99.99%
May 2020 average uptime: 99.98%
June 2020 average uptime: 99.99%
July 2020 average uptime: 99.98%
From this statistic, you can calculate average Uptime of Hostarmada for last 8-months that comes to approx 99.99%.
Hostarmada Speed Test
I have tested Hostarmada hosting with default WordPress installation with twenty-twenty WordPress theme from 30+ different location with 3+ speed test tool including google page insight.
Please note that I have not used any CDN and Optimization or Cache plugin while taking the test, which means its a default WordPress site test.
Speed Test by Google Page Insight
This test is for mobile loading time but the desktop was also the same and you can see it is pretty fast. And you know that speed is one of the main factor for On-Page SEO as it reduces Bounce back and increase conversion.
-> Know more about on page SEO
2. Speed Test By GTMatrix
GTmatrix performance Report
As you can see on Gtmatrix Speed Performance Report that a 261 KB page takes just 2.8 seconds to load even without any compression and speed optimization. Also, no CDN used anyhow.
3. Speed Test by Dotcom-tools
I have tested their speed with 25 location using dotcom-tools for this particular Hostarmada Review So that you can get a better understanding and can decide which hosting to choose at this range of price. Please visit here to see the live speed test report.
Speed Test 1
Speed Test 2
Pros of Using Hostarmada Hosting
HostArmada have powerful Hosting Infrastructure which is main and most important Pros of it. But it is not only, here are few more pros of using hostarmada.
LiteSpeed Technolody to enhance server speed
Cloud SSD Based Servers to handle request frequently.
Highly Scaleable infrastructure
Good Quality 27x7 Support
Simple Hosting Dashboard
cPanel Included
Free Domain with All Plans
Daily Backup with one click Restore
Free Speed Optimization to Speedup your website
Huge Server Resources to handle sudden traffic growth
Very Affordable as Compared with others in same configuration
9 Server Location from all over the world
Cons of Hostarmada
I didn't see any major consequence of using HostArmada as Hosting provider but here are few that can be considered
Not having support of Other card rather than Visa
Indian Local Payment Method Not Available
LiteSpeed is available only for higher plans.
If you think there are other pros and cons of Hostarmada, you are most welcome to post it on comment section. I will add it to my Hostarmada Review as soon as possible.
Hostarmada Plan And Pricing Review
Now many of you are thinking that they are using Cloud + SSD + LiteSpeed which will cost you very high than normal hosting. The answer is, You are absolutely wrong. They provide the most reliable, most powerful and better optimized hosting platform.

Temple of Olympian Zeus: Legacy of the Hadrian
Tumblr media
Temple of Olympian Zeus is one of the most exciting and historical landmarks of Athens where is also known as the Olympieion. Based on the historical information it took several centuries to finish the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Construction of the Temple of Olympian Zeus started in 174 BC and fully completed by the Roman emperor Hadrian in 131 AD. Its architectural properties like very long columns and layout plan are made it one of the largest template ever built in the history. If you are staying couple of days in Athens, you should visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus. I can guarantee peace of mind you won't regret it. You can spare your morning or afternoon for here and it will be enough.

History of Temple of Olympian Zeus
I always believe that you should know something about the history you are going to visit. Because when you know something about the place you will look at everything with different thoughts and eyes. This rule same for here of course. Please take a look at the history of this great temple. The temple is located in the south-east part of today's Athens, very close to the River Ilissos. The place where the temple is located part of the Athens Acropolis. That means this place is full of historical artifacts. The site has evidence of habitation and settlements from the Neolithic period. A famous Greek traveler and geographer Pausanias claim that the ancient sanctuary of Zeus was created by the Deukalion. Deukalion was to the son of Prometheus in Greek mythology.

You can see the Acropolis from the Temple of Olympian Zeus (Source). The earliest archaeological evidence over this area dates back to the few more than the 6th BC. Peisistratos who was the son of Hippocrates was a ruler of ancient Athens between 561 and 527 BC. He started to build a very big Doric styled temple in 515 BC. The initial plan of the temples was made by a couple of architects whose name was Antiastates, Callaeschrus, and Antimachides. But the construction works didn't go after the foundation made by the limestone.

Endless Construction
After a couple of centuries construction works started again in 174 BC by the Antiochos IV Epiphanes who was the King of Syria. He employed a highly skilled Roman architect Cossutius. By the year of 163 BC columns and entablature of the Corinthian order temple finally finished. Temples were the Corinthian order which means the columns were thin and fluted with vertical lines cut over the surface, like almost the temples around Athens. But once again project stopped because of the death of the Antiochos.

You can count the surviving columns of the Temple of Olympian Zeus (1865) (Source).
Finally, Completion of the Temple of Olympian Zeus
After another couple of centuries, a Roman emperor Hadrian ordered to finish the construction of the temple during his stay in Athens between 124 and 125 AD. Finally, the Temple of Olympian Zeus was finished in 131 AD. Between the years 124 and 132 AD, a rectangular precinct wall built around the temple. A couple of roman baths also constructed over the site and a monumental arch built which name is Hadrian's Arch. We will give information about Hadrian's Arch in a minute. Some other temples built after the completion of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Temple of Zeus Panhellenios built south the Temple of Olympian Zeus in 132 AD. Also in 150 AD Temple of Kronos and Rhea built on a very close area within the site. Temple of Zeus Panhellenios and Temple of Kronos and Rhea are relatively small when compared to the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Also today, there are very few remains of them. Around all these temples enclosed with Valerian Wall in 260 AD. Construction of this wall started in 256 AD and finished in 4 years. Almost after 200 years, the Basilica Olympieion (Basilica of Ilissos) was built on the northern side of the original precinct wall. Not only the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Temple of Zeus Panhellenios, Temple of Kronos and Rhea, but Hadrian's Arch and Basilica Olympieion also places worth to see. So, you should spend your time to see all of them.

Architectural Features of the Temple
The temple was constructed over a wide-open space with 250 x 130 meters of dimension. This method gives an extra grandeur and magnificence to it. Also, this construction area was enclosed by using a porous wall built by using the rocks with high carbonate content. This wall buttressed with a regularly spaced columns along the interior face of the temple. There is a propylon gate in the north-west corner of that wall. In the center of all this, a massive and really big one marble temple raised with a dimension of 110.35 x 43.68 meters. These columns are unusually higher than similar temples. Each column is 17.25 meters high and 1.7 meters of diameter.
Remains of the Temple of Saturn and Rhea
In the beginning, there was a 104 column at the temples but today these numbers of the column are too low than 104. Inside the temple, there was a huge statue of Zeus and Hadrian made from gold and ivory. The fate of those artifacts is unknown. We know the materials of the Temple of Olympian Zeus were re-used in other buildings. Today, we can't believe this behavior but during that time this was totally normal and common. Now, there only 15 columns of the temple are still standing and remained intact. 2 of them are in the south-west corner and 13 of them are in the south-east corner. Also, there is another collapsed column on the ground. This column collapsed at the storm in 1852.

Remains of the Basilica Olympieion (Basilica of Ilissos) (Source). Where is the Temple of Olympian Zeus? Temple of Olympian Zeus and other unique temples and places within this archeological site is located southeast of the Athens Acropolis. We can say that the place the temple is quite central and it is very easy to go there. Hadrian's Arch is over the Leof. Andrea Siggrou Avenue and lots of buses (165, 227, 790, 856) go through this road. Also, there is a tram stop for T4 and T5 tram lines very north of the temple. Your last option to go to the temple is to use Metro Line 2. Get off at the Syggrou Avenue station and cross it. Now, you can see the temple. Just take a ten-minute walk to it. If you visited Acropolis first you can take a walk from there to Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Tour Organizer Publishes A Comprehensive List Of Things To Do In Ho Chi Minh City
Nguyen Hue, Ho Chi Minh based Back of the Bike Tours recently published an informative travel guide listing the most epic things to do in the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The article, which can be read at https://backofthebiketours.com/ho-chi-minh-city/things-to-do/, covers the top places to visit, dine, play, and shop while visiting Vietnam’s biggest metropolis.
Ho Chi Minh (often referred to as Saigon) is a historic and bustling city in the southern part of Vietnam with a population of approximately 8.9 million. The city is home to a number of old western-style buildings that have now turned into tourist attractions. This includes the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was made entirely of materials imported from France, and the 19th-century Central Post Office. The Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, officially known as Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception, is located in Ho Chi Min’s downtown area. The church was built during the 1800s and is regarded as one of the finest gems of French architecture. Its interior space showcases 12 gigantic pillars that are perfectly lined up within the two sides of the hall while its exterior facade was built from Marseille-originated red bricks with a stunning clock that was brought from Switzerland in 1887.
Tumblr media
Saigon’s Central Post Office is a perfect combination of renaissance style and gothic architecture. The building was constructed in 1891 when Vietnam was still a part of French Indochina. Its has a huge arched roof that features two grand hand-painted maps, which illustrate the old Saigon environment and telegraphic lines in the Southern Indochina. The post office, though aged, is still serving its intended purpose (with foreign exchange available at a fair rate along with postcards and souvenirs for visitors who happen to stop by). Another notable place of interest is the Opera House, which was designed by the renowned French architect, Eugene Ferret. It was a monumental masterpiece once dedicated to the French colonists and VIP key figures. The building was repurposed after 1956, becoming the Lower House assembly of South Vietnam, and was later returned to a theater after 1975. The À Ố Show by Lune Production is the most talked-about event among many big shows and concerts held weekly at the Opera House. Tourists can easily claim their seats for the shows through an agency or the front desk at the front of the building. Surrounding the Opera House is a chain of luxury brand stores, 5-star hotels, and souvenir shops.
Ho Chi Minh City is also famous for its local cuisine, which is a fusion of traditional Vietnamese and French cuisine. Local foods are fragrant and full of flavor. With steaming chicken noodle soups, crispy spring rolls, pancakes, and even coffee, Ho Chi Minh is a foodie’s paradise. One of the most popular Vietnamese dish is pho, a noodle soup dish that is made with rice noodles, broth, and fresh herbs. It is available in either chicken or beef flavor—and is a must-try food when in Vietnam. Another tasty dish is called Bun Cha, which is a mix of barbecued pork, noodles, fish sauce, papaya, carrots, and fresh herbs. The dish is often referred to as Obama noodles because former Pres. Barack Obama visited Vietnam and ate the dish in 2016. Ho Chi Minh has a wide variety of other tasty local delicacies, including Bahn Mi, Bahn Cuon, Goi Cuon, Che, and more.
Ho Chi Minh is more than just a historic city, for it is a place that appeals to all types of tourists and travellers. It has a very colourful nightlife and is home to some of the top-rated bars and nightclubs in all of Vietnam. The city attracts millions of tourists each year because it is a destination that boasts affordability, friendly people, rich culinary scene, beautiful natural resources, and so on. Ho Chi Minh is also very accessible from its neighboring South East Asian countries.
“If you are travelling to Vietnam and looking for the best tour recommendations, please do not hesitate to contact Back of the Bike Tours. We offer some of the most epic Ho Chi Minh tours, covering all the best things to do in the city and the surrounding areas. We believe that our tour itinerary offers a complete experience to those who are looking for an authentic Vietnamese experience,” says Frederick Wilson from Back of the Bike Tours.

HOW TO AVOID ASIAN STEREOTYPES, APPROPRIATION, AND WHITE WASHING
Since May is Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month, I wanted to take the time to sit down and write a guide about Asian Americans. Mainly, this guide is about how to not be offensive with casting roles and stereotypes. The guide is super long (because it’s also sort of a rant), but it is broken up into different topics. The following topics are stereotypes, appropriation, and casting & whitewashing.
I hope that you find this guide helpful!
CHECK OUT THE GUIDE UNDER THE READ MORE
INTRODUCTION
I am an Asian American woman and I was adopted about twenty years ago. I started working on a documentary last year about Asians in the media. I wanted to bring some of the material I learned to the roleplaying community in one large guide. There is still a lot of problems with the media and Asians are severely under and misrepresented.
To start with, I want to discuss some terms. East Asians generally refers to (surprise!) East Asia which includes China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam*, Mongolia, and Taiwan. South Asians includes people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and many more. This guide mainly deals with East and South Asians. Please take the time to research other smaller Asian countries in Southeast, Central, and West Asia like Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, and many more. Also take the time to research the Pacific Islands. Here’s a reminder that Asia is a continent and not a country, just like how Africa is a continent and not a country.
I’m hoping that this guide will help you learn about Asians and their culture along with avoiding offensive stereotypes and appropriation. Hopefully, when people become more aware of these issues and we can start fixing the representation of Asians.
*For Vietnam, I did some research as to whether it counts as a Southeast Asian country or East Asian. I found a source that talks about the topic. “Vietnam is geographically Southeast Asian, but culturally leans much more heavily toward East Asian, specifically Chinese, which is arguably the “mother culture” of East Asia.“
STEREOTYPES
There are a ton of stereotypes for both Asian men and women. There are different stereotypes for East and South Asians. Overall, Asian characters are seen as best friends or sidekicks, but they are hardly ever cast in the lead role. I can think of only a few shows and films where there is an Asian lead.
Generally, Asian men are not seen as attractive. They are seen as more feminine, often times because they are seen as more sensitive because of a close relationship with their mother. White women often times want to pursue an Asian man because they believe that he will treat them right. Despite this, Asian men are hardly ever seen as the romantic interest in romantic comedies or television. In fact, John Cho was the first Asian American romantic interest on a television show in Selfie (2014).
If an East Asian man is not feminine, he is the martial arts guy only meant to do that. He is a ninja who never talks and is only meant to do kung fu (and his face may never be seen). Asian martial arts are often times not distinguished from one another. Martial arts are described as karate, kung fu, or taekwondo but there are so many more. There are Aikido, Judo, Jujutsu, Tai Chi, and more. Also, not all martial arts are used for fighting. Don’t have your character whipping their fists and legs around to pretend like they’re practicing martial arts either when they damn well know they aren’t and just want to pretend to be a “ninja.” One way I’ve learned about more Asian martial arts is by looking up videos on the creation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which uses different and distinct types of martial arts for the different elements. (Toph uses an entirely different type of martial art for her bending than the other earthbenders.) Take time to learn and appreciate these incredible and beautiful martial arts.
Sometimes, the Asian man is portrayed as funny and not intelligent, used for comedic relief, or they are the quiet nerd who is good with computers and math. This may be seen in many of Jackie Chan’s movies where he is not very intelligent on the surface and when his intelligence is shown, it is displayed in a comedic way. Asians are also frequently portrayed as the IT guy or a doctor. South Asian men are often times portrayed in the media as terrorists because they may have similar features to Middle Eastern men.
Asian women are always portrayed as thin, pale, and attractive. They are also submissive and are hypersexualized. Their job may be as a prostitute or nanny. Many white men have a fetish for Asian women (”yellow fever”), which is offensive and extremely creepy. With this kind of a story line, Asian women are mail to order brides from poor families and she moves to America and gets married in order to get her citizenship. She may also be the nanny or a maid who doesn’t speak English. If Asian women are not meant for sex, they are quiet, weird, and the nerdy type. They are the nerdy girl that no one wants to date. South Asian women are often shown as being involved in an arranged marriage. Asian women in the media are oppressed and often times need to have a white male save her.
Asian women are frequently portrayed as pale! A lot of Asian countries want women to be pale to resemble white people. Some Asian women prefer more European features, which is a huge problem and damaging for younger girls. In fact, in India there is a cream for women that is meant to lighten their skin. One of my friends, a Chinese adoptee, went to South Korea and they photoshopped her ID photo to hell to make her thinner and paler. Promote positive body image! Not all Asian women are naturally thin. Also, support Asian girls and boys who have a darker skin tone.
Another trope for Asian women is the “Dragon Lady” stereotype, which is generally reserved for East Asian women. This harmful stereotype shows a woman “as strong, deceitful, domineering, or mysterious.“ Wikipedia also mentions that the Dragon Lady is “also used to refer to any powerful but prickly woman, usually in a derogatory fashion.”
(Rebellious) Asian women are many times described as or portrayed as having colored hair in TV or movies. For some reason, Hollywood loves to have Asian women with hair that is dyed whether it’s the whole head or just streaks. Hollywood wants a cool, rebel girl appearance that gets old. I love to dye my hair and do enjoy having different colors, but seeing it all the time as the only representation gets old.
Older Asian characters like a character’s parents are seen as traditional, strict, and uptight. Most of the time, they don’t speak English. They are generally the primary force behind their child’s decision to be a lawyer or doctor. The parents are hardly ever supportive and are mainly concerned with finding their children spouses.
There is also a stereotype about Asian languages. A lot of people think that Asian countries speak the same languages or one language. In China, most people speak Mandarin (standard Chinese), but they could also speak Cantonese which is very different. There are also many other dialects, so Chinese can mean different things. In India, there are many, many, many different languages. The main ones spoken are English, Hindi, and Urdu. I recommend that people read up on the national languages and dialects in Asia here. Please be aware that not all Asian people can speak an Asian language. I’m Chinese and I don’t know any Mandarin other than “hello,” “goodbye,” and “thank you.” (Also, just because someone is Asian, don’t assume they know how to use chopsticks.)
Obviously, it’s okay to have a smart Asian or to have an Asian character who does in fact know martial arts. The problem is when those are the only defining traits of your Asian character. Don’t let these stereotypes become the sole defining part of your character.
APPROPRIATION
There’s a lot of cultural appropriation, period. This appropriation doesn’t stop at clothing but also the countries themselves and language.
With Indian culture, much of the traditional clothing and Bollywood is appropriated. Women (who are not Indian) are wearing sarees (or saris) and bindis without really knowing what it means. This can be seen in Selena Gomez’s Come and Get It (and all of her live performances), with Katy Perry, and in an episode of Fuller House which shows a Bollywood themed party.
The clothing of other Asian countries are also appropriated. The Japanese kimono is frequently worn and appropriated in very sexual ways. Examples of this are Rihanna in her Princess of China music video with Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, P!nk, and many more. This also occurs with traditional Chinese and Korean clothing. Women may also tape their eyes to have narrow eyes or fake a hooded eye. This frequently happens with cosplaying or dressing up as one’s favorite K-Pop band. Symbol from Asian cultures or characters from Asian languages are also appropriated and used for tattoos. For example, the om symbol ( ॐ ) or the yin-yang symbol is seen on necklaces or tattoos.
Please note that the term hapa, used to describe someone of Asian and/or Pacific descent, is an appropriated term. Originally, the term is from Hawaii from the Hawaiian word for "half", "part", or "mixed.” Hapa is an appropriated term that I would not suggest that people who are not Hawaiian use. Asians are also often times approached with either gibberish that is supposed to sound “Chinese” or “Japanese” or another kind of Asian language. Or, Asians are approached with a “Namaste,” “konichiwa,” or other terms and phrases. Again, not all Asian people can speak their language.
Asian countries are often times used in movies as an “exotic” backdrop for a movie or story. A white character will visit an Asian country for self discovery, healing, or to learn a mystical ancient martial art. This is a massive problem because Asian countries will only be seen as exotic locations for self healing and martial arts. Stop letting your white characters go to Asian countries to heal or discover Asian magic. In case you don’t think this is a recurring theme, let me give you some examples! Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins (2005) goes to an unnamed  Asian country to learn how to fight with the League of Assassins. In Doctor Strange (2016), Stephen Strange goes to Kathmandu, Nepal to learn about ancient magic. In Eat, Pray, Love, both the book and film, the woman travels to India and Indonesia on her “quest for self-discovery.” In Lucy (2012), parts of the film are in Taipei with a white female lead. This trope is insensitive and boring as well as offensive because Asian countries are not just “exotic” and “mystical” for your plot.
All of this appropriation needs to stop because people are exploiting Asian culture without truly knowing and understanding what it all means. Yes, it is possible to learn about Asian culture without appropriating it. Yes, it is possible for you to wear a sari or a kimono if you are making a conscious effort to learn about the culture and reasoning behind the clothing, but you can’t make an assumption that everyone is okay with it. Some Indians or Japanese people may not be comfortable with you wearing their traditional clothing and you need to respect that. Asian cultures are not meant to be a quirk or something exotic and mysterious or a money grabber.
CASTING & WHITEWASHING
Casting for Asians in film and television is another issue. Asians are not getting lead roles and that is because these roles are going to white actors. This is known as white washing. To properly define whitewashing, it is the casting of white actors in ethnic roles such as the majority of the cast for The Last Airbender (2010), Emma Stone’s character in Aloha (2014), Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily in Pan (2015), Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger (2013), Tilda Swinton in Doctor Strange (2016), and many more. Let’s not forget Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell (2017)!
Whitewashing often occurs with yellow face and brown face. Yellow face is for East Asians while brown face is for people of Middle Eastern or South Asian descent. It is exactly how it sounds. It is similar to black face and it is where a white actor will wear prosthetic and/or be airbrushed to be a specific skin tone (usually more yellow) to appear more Asian. This has been going on for a long time, dating back in cinema as far back as 1915 (and definitely further back before film). Recent uses of yellow face in film include Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), Cloud Atlas (2012), and Pacific Rim (2013).
What does it mean when there is whitewashing and no Asian characters in the media? It means that we are not being represented. When Asian characters are not portrayed, they are not being represented and people don’t see themselves in the media, which influences our every day lives. Very few Asian actors have won Oscars and other acting awards because there aren’t any roles for them. Roles that are for Asian actors are going to white actors, meaning Asian actors are robbed of a job and experience. If they can’t get these roles (especially Oscar winning roles), then they will never have the chance to win or enhance their skills and practice their art. Kids want to see a Japanese Captain America, a Chinese Jessica Jones, an Indian Jason Bourne or a Korean Hawkeye because it means they are seeing themselves. It inspires them and shows them that they can strive to be their role models.
When casting your characters, be aware of your faceclaim’s ethnicity. It is not hard to look up a celebrities ethnicity. The best places to look are ethnicelebs.com/ and a celebrity’s Wikipedia page. This is especially important when casting part Asian characters. Some people may not seem like they are part Asian, like Katie Findlay, Janel Parrish, Lydia Graham, Kate Beckinsale, or Rob Schneider. And then there are people who are part Asian who also look part Asian like Ryan Potter, Chloe Bennet, Shay Mitchell, and Kristin Kreuk. Also note that there are plenty of people who may seem like they have Asian ancestry but do not such as Ezra Miller, Steven Strait, Max Schneider, Jodelle Ferland, Daniel Sunjata, and Emma Stone.
Don’t just keep casting the same Asian actors in roles too, such as Dev Patel, Avan Jogia, Jamie Chung, John Cho, Arden Cho, or Priyanka Chopra.  There are a lot of lists and directories of other Asian actors who deserve attention such as Gemma Chan, Constance Wu, Karen Fukuhara, Lewis Tan, Ludi Lin, Ross Butler, Riz Ahmed, Cassie Steele, Deepika Padukone, Daniel Dae Kim, and so many more! There are also a great deal of Asian actors from China, Japan, Korea, etc. from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. media who should be recognized as well.
Lastly, on the topic of casting Asian characters, do not cast someone who is Chinese as a Korean character. Don’t cast someone who is Korean as a Singaporean character or a Malaysian actor as a Japanese character. Asians do not all look the same and there are so many countries in Asia. This is similar with the issue of having someone who is Mexican playing the role of a Colombian character or someone from Brazil (FYI, Brazilians are Latinx but not Hispanic) portraying a Venezuelan character. Cast the correct specific Asian ethnicity for your roles.
If you ever need help finding an Asian faceclaim, go to RPHs and ask. Never be afraid to ask!
ASIAN ADOPTEES*
Asians are adopted from Asian countries all the time. Many of the Asian adoptees I know personally are adopted form China. Chinese adoptees are girls because of the one child policy that was in place until it recently became a two child policy in 2015. All Chinese adoptees I know are girls as there is a higher demand for baby boys and so they are kept while girls are put into orphanages. It is possible that there are boys adopted from China, I just haven’t met any cis-male Asian adoptees. (I have one Chinese adoptee friend who is currently transitioning from female to male). Here’s some more things you need to know about Asian adoptees.
Generally, adoptees are adopted by white (middle class) families (at least all the Asian adoptees I know). In this case, these Asians (including me) are culturally very white. This can lead to a difficult conflict within one’s self because you feel white, but you are seen as Asian. Unless you learn about your Asian heritage, you won’t know about Asian culture. Because of this, Asian adoptees may feel too white for Asians who are raised by an Asian family surrounded by their culture but too Asian because of their physical appearance around white people. Sometimes, Asians who are trying to explore their heritage feel strange and sometimes feel like they are appropriating their own culture. Some part Asian people also feel this way as well because they may look too Asian to be considered white, but they look too white to be truly a part of their Asian culture.
It is also difficult for Asian adoptees to figure out their identity because of several reasons. We don’t know where we were born specifically. We don’t know our real birthday. We don’t know our parents or the reason why they gave us up (although it’s usually assumed that families wanted a boy and/or to give us our best chance with another loving family). We don’t know if we have siblings or not. We will most likely never find our birth parents or siblings if we have any. We won’t be able to trace our geneology. We assume we are 100% from the country we are adopted from, but we could very well be part Korean or Vietnamese. We just don’t know these things and Asian adoptees can struggle figuring out their identity because of this.
Often times, Asians are asked “Where are you from?” The person asking this often times expect a specific Asian country. I always give them the name of the place where I grew up. Asian adoptees are Asian Americans (if they’re in America and/or are American citizens [you could be Asian Canadian, for example, if you’re not an American citizen]). Not all Asians have “Asian sounding” names, even if someone is not adopted. I have a friend whose parents are from China and her name is Wendy. Some Chinese people will choose an English name to go by, but there are plenty of Chinese people who will continue to go by their Chinese name. Some Chinese adoptees may keep their given Chinese name as their middle name.
All Asian adoptees I know have very loving families. Some have siblings who are also adopted from an Asian country or another place or have siblings who are the biological children of their parents. Some families may have two dads or two moms, the family may be a nuclear family with a mom and dad, and there may be single moms who have adopted. One thing is very important when writing an Asian adoptee character. Their adoptive parents are their parents. They have birth parents, but their adoptive parents are their parents. I have a birth mother, but the woman who adopted me is my mom. It is incredibly offensive to an Asian adoptee and their parent(s) when people don’t acknowledge that they are their parents despite not sharing the same DNA.
Asian adoptees are not (always) tragic or traumatized by their experiences. However, some people are uncomfortable talking about themselves and their adoption. Respect their decision to not tell you about their experiences.
*Note that this does not apply to all Asian adoptees, but it is a common occurrence that I have noticed while interviewing other Chinese adoptees.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, stereotypes, appropriation, and whitewashing are all incredibly harmful things that need to stop. Obviously, not everything I say in this guide applies to every Asian person. Chinese people have different experiences than Indian people. People of different Asian ethnicities have different experiences. The best thing I can suggest is to talk to these people about their experiences and what to avoid.
To wrap things up from the guide, don’t say “Namaste” to anyone who is Asian. Don’t ask Asians “where are you from?” Don’t use the word “hapa” to describe yourself or others of mixed Asian heritage. Never use the words “Chink,” “Oriental,” “Jap” or any other offensive racial slurs. Never call an Asian brown or yellow. Don’t wear kimonos or saris without understanding the meaning. Don’t make your Asian characters’ defining traits be “smart,” “good at math,” or “a martial arts master.” Don’t keep using Asian countries as a backdrop for your characters to be in because the countries are “exotic” and “mystical.” Don’t make assumptions. Don’t whitewash your Asian characters! There are plenty of Asian faceclaims to use.
I’m hoping that this guide has helped bring some attention to these issues. Asians are severely underrepresented and misrepresented in the media. Don’t be afraid to ask me some questions or ask your Asian friends questions. Just don’t be an asshole about it. Really make a conscious effort to be respectful and learn about Asians and Pacific Islanders!

Africa Travel Tips from a Female Solo Traveler
When you get lost, you will find a true treasure in Africa.
The landscapes are breathtaking, the people still carry on with their traditions like thousand years ago. You imagine that you are in a totally different world. So what makes Africa that special that you get drawn to it?
Every time I put my feet on the African soil it feels like I am home.
I love the rich cultures, traditions, African cousin, the smells of the herbs and spices on the streets makes you want to try all the street food. Not to even mention the wildlife and their national parks, that will blow you away.
Before you get enthusiastic and jump on a plane, make sure you do some research on where to go and what you want to do. Also, make sure you don’t forget the steps for your own safety!
My Top Africa Travel Tips to Get Your Adventure Started!
1 :Take your vaccinations and medication such as malaria at your doctor’s office or local health department. Make sure you take your medical ID with you and have all your stamps that indicate you’ve been vacinated (For example, currently in Nairobi you’re not allowed in until you show your yellow fever certificte or get the shot in the airport upon arrival).
2: Buy a travel book (like Backpacking Africa for Beginners)that you can take on your trip. There are many Africa travel tips and tricks and some even include easy lines to practice in the language of the country you’re visiting. Are you a planner? Make your route. If not, make sure you know how to stay safe and get all your phone numbers in case of an emergency.
3: Traveling solo, I would recommend a backpack. It’s easy to carry around and to put it on your lap or between your legs while traveling with public transportation. This keep your belongings more safe against thieves. Hardcover suitcase may get broken because they don’t fit in jeeps or public transportation.
4: Find as much information possible on how you want to travel around the country you’re visiting. Public transportation, hitchhiking…. are they safe there? In South Africa, you can look into special minibuses for tourists like the Baz bus or rent a car for yourself (I had a really good experience with Sunny Cars. They provided fixed prices, good service, & high quality insurance). Before you step into an adventure, get your international drivers licenses ready (of course, only if you choose to self-drive)!
Now you got the basics done, it’s time to book a ticket! And pack your bag!
Africa is a very diverse continent, no country is the same. It’s a challenge to pick a country. There is just too much to choose from. In the north you have the Arabic countries with their lovely, food, seas and deserts. Central Africa, West and East Africa have all different challenges. If it’s your first time to Africa I recommend South Africa. It’s a mixture of central, west and east but in a modern way and easy to get around.
But if you like a challenge and stay in South Africa, you wouldn’t want to miss out on Swaziland and Lesotho. These two countries are hidden gems. They bring you back to the true traditional Africa. You may see more poverty but the people are very friendly and help you out! The less they have the more they give you. Not even mentioning their traditions, in Swaziland there is still a king that rules the country. Every year there is a ceremony to find a new wife. This looks a bit strange to us but it’s something so special to be a part of. All woman coming together and will perform a traditional dance for the king.
Swaziland has high mountains and great rivers to do some whitewater rafting. Take a donkey and climb a mountain. Visit Hlane royal Park, let the ranger take you on a safari. Nearby Hlane you go up north to Simunye, Shewula camp. This camp is basic and simple, it’s on top of a mountain so take your car and hit the dirt road. Drive until you are on the peak of the mountain and the camp will give you a warm welcome. Don’t expect luxury but a taste of simple, breathtaking Swaziland. The camp is run by the locals, you stay in a round navel hut, looking over the valley.  Go there and give back to the local community. They provide for small tours, traditional dance, to talk to a traditional healer, drinking maize beer out of a bucket in a local pub.
Lesotho is the kingdom of the sky, it’s a highland and the lowest point is 1.400 meters above sea-level. The best way to get into Lesotho is from South African border driving through the Sanipass. This is only possible with a 4×4 car. A difficult but amazing trip will lead you to right up from the pass into the mountain. On the way up you will feel the pressure on your ears and the views get more stunning by the minute. You will come across a lot different species of bird like eagles watching over the pass. If you got a 4×4 rental car you can do this on your own. But if you want a customized trip, I really liked Roof of Africa Tours.
When the Sanipass ends you reach the highest pub of Africa with a great scenery, time for a toast! The traditional Basotho people are waiting for you in their traditional clothing. They wear blankets and rubber boots and own a horse for transportation. You really go back in time, mountain villages with huts and horses and people in traditional cloths. What would be better than to step in their comfort zone and jump on a horse, life for a moment like they do? Visit a small village talk to the locals, play with their children dance around bonfires. And get to know more about their daily life.
Every year there is a ceremony where young boys will become adults. They need to ask permission to the mayor of the town to send the boys into mountains for an initiation. If they manage to survive for one week they pass the test to become an adult. Their blankets have many colors and patterns with a different meaning, every town has its own. When there is a ceremony the Basotho people wear their Basotho hats. You can buy a small version of them to have a great souvenir.
The colors of the mountains change and you will find many waterfalls and even some frozen ones in the winter. It gets really cold during the night below zero degrees Celsius, so make sure you got some warm clothes with you. If you are in love with mountains… this is the country for you!
There are many ways to overnight and most people choose for the luxury option Sanipass lodge. I stayed with a local family and they touched my heart. So visit Sobasoba Lodge. They build traditional huts for tourists and the prices are cheap including lunch and dinner

Do you need for Vietnam ? Yes, there are a few you should definitely have and few more to consider to avoid unexpected health calamities. This simple guide wil help you understand exactly which you need for Vietnam.
What’s in our guide to Vaccines for Vietnam?
1. 3. 5. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, cycled across northern mountain ranges, sailed Ha Long Bay, motorbiked the coast, lazed away days on beautiful beaches, volunteered in rural villages, and so much more.
Vietnam is an incredible country which offers visitors a diverse set of experiences.
Vietnam is a diverse country with a huge range of experiences.
Of course, it also offers a diverse set of health risks. Getting your injections for Vietnam before you leave home is the first step to a healthy trip.
As always, when seeking health advice online, it is best to double-check with your doctor or expert before you make any final decisions.
With that said, read on to learn all about…
Also don’t miss these posts:
Solo in Vietnam → Vietnam advice → The best Vietnam itinerary →
Vaccines you should definitely have for Vietnam
Make sure you are up to date on your routine jabs including:
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis
Chickenpox (Varicella)
Polio
Annual flu shot
You will also need to add at least these two :
Hepatitis A
Typhoid
Both of these diseases can be contracted through contaminated food or water in Vietnam.
All lers should be vaccinated for Hepatitis A before going to Vietnam.
Travellers who plan on staying in home stays or with friends, visiting smaller cities or rural areas, or eating street food or in small restaurants (so almost everyone), should also get the Typhoid vaccine.
Vaccines you might need for Vietnam
We can give you general advice about these but if you are unsure about what you need, please make an appointment with a vaccine specialist at least 2 months before your trip.
Japanese encephalitis
The Japanese encephalitis vaccine is very expensive but is generally recommended if you plan to stay in Vietnam for more than a month, or plan to spend a lot of time in rural areas or outside.
Full disclosure: We have never gotten the vaccine for Japanese encephalitis, even though all of those conditions apply to us. But just because we took the risk doesn’t mean you should — speak to your local vaccine specialist who will help you decide.
Hepatitis B
You’ll need this if you plan on have sex with strangers in Vietnam, or you’re going to get a tattoo, a piercing, use IV drugs, or have any medical procedures. Obviously, we recommend that you don’t engage in any of these activities on your Vietnam trip!
Malaria
It is rare for lers to get malaria in Vietnam. You might consider taking anti-malarials if you’re going to be camping, or are planning to spend a lot of time in the outdoors in the central and southern areas bordering with Cambodia. For most lers, liberal use of a deet-based mosquito repellent is sufficient for Vietnam.
If you’re going to wild regions of Cambodia and Laos as well, you should consider taking anti-malarials for that part of your trip. I got malaria in northern Cambodia / southern Laos last year and it was the most awful experience of my entire career!
Stray dogs, bats, and rats in Vietnam can all carry rabies. Probably not this cutie though.
Rabies
You can get rabies from dogs, rats, bats, and other animals in Vietnam. Not fun! If you’re going to be outside a lot, have a penchant for caving or playing with street dogs, or are ling with children, you might want to consider a rabies vaccine.
Yellow Fever
There is no yellow fever in Vietnam and you only need proof of the vaccine if you’re ling there from other countries with yellow fever. This applies to many African and South American countries.
Zika
There is no vaccine for zika and it is present in Vietnam. Your best protection against zika is to avoid mosquito bites! Be diligent about wearing mosquito repellent and opt for long sleeves and long trousers. If you are pregnant or considering getting pregnant, to countries where zika is present is not advised.
The cost of vary widely, depending on where you are getting the and what type you need. This is a rough estimate of the expenses you’ll face for your Vietnam shots:
$100 consultation fee with vaccine expert
$50–100 for each vaccine you need
$1–5 per day for anti-malarial pills
Budget $300–600 for and consultations for your trip. If you’re on a tight budget, don’t be tempted to skip your injections. If you get sick, not only will your trip be ruined, but you’ll have the additional medical fees to worry about.
This little guy can cause you lots of problems, so beware.
The best way to avoid these diseases is to avoid getting mosquito bites.
Which Kind of Mosquito Repellent Should you Use?
In the west, you might rely on “natural” repellants to keep you from getting bitten. In areas where mosquitos carry disease, this is not good enough. These repellents, though they smell nicer and are less full of disgusting chemicals, tend to be less effective against mosquitos — and their effectiveness varies depending on the breed of mosquito.
If you must use a natural repellent, those containing Lemon Eucalyptus Oil have been shown to be the most effective “natural” repellent. Be aware that you need to apply it more and more frequently than you would with DEET.
There are other options, such as insect repellent clothing, which might be useful if you’re going to spend a lot of time in rural areas.
Are Mosquitos the Same Everywhere You Go?
In Asia, mosquitos can be quite different than the ones you’re used to:
Some are so tiny you might not even notice them flying around or biting you
They are quieter, too, so you might not hear them buzzing
Some barely leave a bite mark and the itching can go away in a matter of hours, while others leave huge misshapen welts that itch like crazy
Certain breeds are active during the day, while others are more active in the morning and evening
Because of this, it’s important to wear repellent even when you don’t notice any mosquitos or notice them biting you. Don’t be fooled into thinking you don’t need mosquito repellent!
Is It OK to Avoid Repellent if Mosquitos Don’t “Like” You?
One last caution. Mosquitos in the east can have different taste buds from mosquitos in the west.
In North America and Europe, Stephen is a mosquito magnet. He can’t go anywhere without getting a bite. I am the opposite; mosquitos barely notice me at home. In Asia, it’s the other way around. I get bites left and right, while Stephen gets by relatively unscathed.
Why is this important? Because Western lers often tell me “Oh, mosquitos don’t like me so I don’t have to wear repellent”. Don’t assume that your experience with mosquitos in the west will be the same as with mosquitos in Asia.
Vietnam is very safe but accidents can happen anywhere.

Hospital fact-finding committee says allegations levelled by patient's family not true
A fact-finding committee of a Delhi government hospital looking into the allegations levelled by family members of a male coronavirus patient that he was "not attended properly" at the facility, has rejected the claims.
The daughter of the patient, in a video posted on Twitter, had alleged that her father was made to wait unduly long in the ambulance while being shifted from a private facility to the LNJP Hospital here, a dedicated COVID-19 facility.
She also claimed that the man was not served any food after his admission on April 18 and was fed only the next morning.
The LNJP Hospital had constituted a fact-finding panel, which looked into the matter and came to a conclusion that the "allegations are not ingrained in facts and stemming from the emotional distress" of discovering a family member to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the report said.

Coronavirus Outbreak LATEST Updates: Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 19,984, according to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry. This number includes cases involving foreign nationals, patients who have recovered and the toll. The toll in India due to the novel virus has risen to 640.
President Donald Trump has said that he will halt issuing of new Green Cards or legal permanent residency for the next 60 days as part of his executive order to temporarily suspend immigration into the US. However, the move will not have any impact on those entering the country on a temporary basis, Trump said.
While coronavirus cases in India inched towards 19,000 on Tuesday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) told state governments to stop using the China-made rapid antibody test kits for two days after Rajasthan flagged "inaccurate results".
The Union health ministry, in its daily press briefing, said that the toll from COVID-19 in India rose to 603 on Tuesday, while the number of cases rose to 18,985. Of them, 15,122 are active cases while 3,260 patients have recovered, the ministry added.
Officials also said that the recovery rate has improved to 17.5 percent in the country and a record number of 705 patients were cured and discharged on Monday itself. Overall, more than 3,300 persons have been cured and discharged so far.
The ICMR said that a total of 4,49,810 samples for COVID-19 infection had been tested till Tuesday, of which 35,852 were done on Monday.
As many as 29,776 samples have been tested in 201 labs under the ICMR network, and 6,076 at 86 private laboratories.
ICMR tells states not to use rapid antibody tests for two days
The Rajasthan government has stopped using the rapid testing kits procured from China after they delivered inaccurate results, PTI reported. The state government had received 30,000 kits through ICMR for free, while 10,000 kits were purchased at a cost of Rs 540 plus tax per kit.
The rapid testing kits, through which blood samples are tested, are aimed at speeding up screening and detection of suspected coronavirus patients as they take less time to show results in comparison to the swab-based tests carried out in pathology labs.
On Tuesday, Rajasthan's health minister Raghu Sharma said the kits gave only 5.4 percent accurate results against the expectation of 90 percent accuracy and therefore the kits "were of no benefit". He said the ICMR has been informed about the issue.
Taking note of the Rajasthan government's feedback, ICMR's Dr Raman R Gangakhedkar told journalists that states have been advised not to use these rapid test kits for two days and a fresh advisory will be issued after field validation by its team.
If any problems are detected, the companies will be asked for replacement, he added.
Maharashtra govt revokes lockdown exemptions in Mumbai, Pune
The Maharashtra government on Tuesday revoked lockdown relaxations and exemptions in Mumbai and Pune because "people are not behaving responsibly", the CMO was quoted as saying.
"The rest of the parts of the state to continue to have partial exemptions," the statement added.
Reportedly, the permission given to e-commerce companies to transport electronic goods, as well as to open sweets shops and confectioneries has been rolled back.
E-commerce companies will only be allowed to transport food, essential items, medicines and medical devices.
Additionally, the construction industry won't be allowed to work in the cities and adjoining areas and IT companies have also been asked to make the staff work from home.
There will also be no delivery of newspapers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and the Pune Municipal Region (PMR), said reports quoting the CMO statement.
In Maharashtra, coronavirus cases rose by 552 on Tuesday, taking the total statewide total cases to 5,218. With 19 new deaths, the toll from the virus rose to 251, the state government said.
Meanwhile, Mumbai, which is one of the worst-affected cities across the country, reported 355 new COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 3,445 in the city. Out of 12 deaths in the city in 24 hours, eight had co-morbidities and four had age-related factors, the MCGM said.
The MCGM also said that 12 new cases were reported in Mumbai's densely-populated Dharavi area on Tuesday. The tally of cases in the area rose to 179, including a total of 12 deaths.
Centre, West Bengal govt standoff over IMCTs' visit to state
While West Bengal reported three more deaths on Tuesday, a political standoff emerged between the state and the Centre after the Ministry of Home Affairs said the state government was not cooperating with the central teams visiting there to assess the COVID-19 situation.
The state's ruling party Trinamool Congress said the visit of central teams to West Bengal was like "adventure tourism" and asked why such delegations were not sent to states with much higher numbers of infections and hotspots.
Later on Tuesday, one of the two teams sent to the state visited certain areas of Kolkata, escorted by the Border Security Force (BSF) and state police personnel.
At a daily press briefing on the COVID-19 situation, Home Ministry joint secretary Punya Salila Srivastava said the Centre has sent teams under Disaster Management Act to four states — Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.
While Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan are extending full support, the government in West Bengal is not doing so, she said.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Secretary Rajiva Sinha responded to the allegations, saying that the state government is cooperating with the inter-ministerial central teams visiting the state to assess COVID-19 situation, but made it clear they cannot roam around with them leaving all work to fight the pandemic.
"We are helping them. There's no question of not doing that. But our stand is that we all are busy in fighting coronavirus... they cannot get information sitting in cars or at the guest house.
"We will share all information they want, taking time out of our busy schedule, but we will not be able to roam around with the central team shutting all our work," Sinha told reporters at the state secretariat.
115 families in President's Estate in Delhi quarantined
While new cases were also reported from various states including Odisha and Kerala — where the infection spread has been relatively slower — as many as 115 families residing at the President's Estate in Delhi have been put under self-isolation as a preventive measure after a sanitation worker's relative tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique, however, clarified that till date no employee of the President's Secretariat has tested positive and the Secretariat along with the local administration is taking all the preventive measures under the government guidelines.
A COVID-19 positive patient from central Delhi, who was neither an employee of the President's Secretariat nor a resident of the President's Estate, had died on 13 April and after contact tracing it was found that a family member of an employee of the President's Secretariat had been in contact with the deceased, the statement said.
The employee and his family members are residents of the President's Estate.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that there are currently 1,603 active cases of COVID-19 in the National Capital, while 47 people have died from the disese so far.
Kejriwal also announced a special testing facility for mediapersons from Wednesday, after Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra reported positive test results for several journalists and other staff members of media organisations.
COVID-19 cases rise to 1,337 in Uttar Pradesh, almost touch 1,000 in Telangana
At least 137 new coronavirus cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, taking the tally of cases in the state to 1,337. The toll stands at 21 in the state.
Meanwhile, Gujarat saw a rise of 127 cases in 24 hours, resulting in the toll rising to 2,066, which includes 131 recoveries and 90 deaths so far.
The Tamil Nadu government said that 76 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the state on Tuesday, taking total number of positive cases in the state to 1,596. One death was also reported, and the toll rose to 18 in the state.
Fifty-six new COVID-19 cases were reported in Telangana on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 928. This includes 711 active cases, 194 who were cured/discharged and 23 deaths, according to the latest update provided by the state health department.
Singapore extends partial lockdown, some countries move to reopen amid health warnings
Singapore prime minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday extended the "circuit breaker" period until 1 June to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus and assured full care for foreign workers, including Indian nationals.
In a televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Lee said the government was committed to do its "utmost" to keep it this deadly virus at bay.
"We will extend the circuit breaker for four more weeks, ie, until 1 June," said Lee while giving an update on the COVID-19 and the rising number of cases among foreign workers living in dormitories.
Singapore reported 1,111 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a majority of them foreign workers living in dormitories. A total of 9,125 people have been infected in the country.
Noting that businesses and workers would be hurt by the extension, the Singapore prime minister said, "But I hope you understand that this short-term pain is to stamp out the virus, protect the health and safety of our loved ones, and allow us to revive our economy."
"The government will continue to help our businesses and workers cope during the extended circuit breaker period. We will provide the same level of support to our workers and businesses as we are doing now," he said.
Meanwhile, Spain will begin allowing children out of their homes for brief periods next Monday, AP reported, adding that Denmark announced plans to reopen Tivoli Gardens, the Copenhagen amusement park that inspired Walt Disney. And Australia said doctors can resume non-urgent surgery next week.
Countries across Europe and beyond — joined in the US by a cascade of states — moved to gradually reopen amid warnings that acting too quickly could enable the virus to come back with a vengeance.
Meanwhile, UN leaders called for efforts to ensure that all people have access to testing, medical supplies, drugs and future vaccines, especially in developing countries.
Globally, the coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 1.7 lakh people, including over 42,000 in the US. Nearly 25 lakh infections have been reported worldwide so far, even as there are fears that the actual tally could be much more as tests are so far limited to serious or symptomatic cases in most countries.
In a press briefing, the World Health Organisation also warned against any rush to ease coronavirus restrictions, saying any such move could result in a resurgence of the disease.
The WHO said governments across the world need to remain vigilant to stop the deadly virus spread and lifting of lockdowns and other social distancing measures must be done gradually.

To do a similar trip as to our SA to Malawi and back trip in 2019, maybe over a longer period of time and including the countries Zimbabwe, Angola, Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda. To see places such as Serengeti, Mana Pools, Central Kalahari and many other places I have not seen yet.

3. What is your favourite touring vehicle?
My Jeep of course. I drive a  2000-model Jeep Cherokee XJ and, thanks to my sponsorship with 4x4 Mega World, it's converted to be exactly everything I need for life on the road.

Tumblr media

 1. What is your favourite camp/lodge in Botswana?`

Vietnam weather in December – What should you need to know?
Vietnam weather in December – What should you need to know? https://www.indochinavoyages.com/travel-blog/vietnam-weather-in-december
Weather is one of the most important factors when you are considering traveling to a country. Like many of the tropical countries, Vietnam can be visited all year around; as each season has its own signature and wonderful places to visit. The beautiful rice terraces in Northern mountainous area in the summer, the stunning sunset flickering behind the hundred-thousand-year-old limestone karts in Halong Bay in fall, or Da Lat with 4 seasons a day – all make up a gorgeous Vietnam where you can visit anytime you can book a cheap return flight. A lot of travelers decide to come to Vietnam in the most important holiday of the year – Christmas and New Year; as this may be once in a life time trip. So let’s see what you should expect for Vietnam weather in December.

Northern Vietnam weather in December
December is in the winter season in the North with little rain expected and average temperature of 19-22 degrees Celsius. So it is basically completely dry during this time, considered as the driest month of the year. In the northern mountainous area such as Sapa, it gets much colder, frosty, snowy in the recent years, especially in the early morning or evening. So warm clothes are mostly recommended when you plan to travel in this region.
[caption id="attachment_15424" align="alignnone" width="960"] December is the wonderful time for travelers to visit Halong Bay as you can have chance to join themed parties and GALA dinners on board for Christmas and New Year's Eve[/caption]

Central Vietnam weather in December
Whilst conditions undoubtedly start to improve in central regions with a significant drop in rainfall, stormy weather is still a possibility especially early in December. More rainfall is expected in Hue than in Hoi An while throughout the region temperatures are close to their lowest for the year, although still far from chilly with average temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Hoi An has some lovely beaches such as Cua Dai and An Bang beach, it is super beautiful with blueish water and white sand. However in this season, because of the rain, the water is not as blue and crystal as normal but turbid with strong waves – not ideally for swimming.
Plus, if storms come, there is chance that the ancient street would be flooded. All of the stores are closed since the flood water spill into their house and they have to move to their relatives’ house to live. But no worry, if you travel in Hoi An this time, you can have opportunity to visit around the old town by a small sampan rowed by local people. What an cool way!
[caption id="attachment_15425" align="alignnone" width="960"] Visiting around the Hoi An old town by a small sampan rowed by local people in December[/caption]
Towards the south, Nha Trang will be seeing rainfall, although this steadily declines through the month. This is also a good time for couples who like to have romantic and luxury honeymoon on cruise. The Emperor Cruise offer an all-inclusive overnight cruise with butler service – one of the most luxurious boats with such an interesting itinerary for 2 days 1 night. In Da Lat conditions remain excellent with dry, clear sky. It is famous for the title “4 seasons a day” – misty in the morning, hot and sunny from around 10 am, cool afternoon and cold in the evening.

Southern Vietnam weather in December
It does not rain much in December thus welcome the perfect weather – dry, blue sky, sunny for beach break. Since it is not as hot as the rainy season (May to October), all is pleasant to wander around the city sightseeing & monuments. Phu Quoc is a hot spot for December because people tend to relax and enjoy the Christmas’s Eve and New Year on this beautiful island. So take time to choose the far away beach which is purely, clean and out-of-the-crowd.

Important notes
Beside the weather, there are some important notes that you need to consider while booking your Vietnam tours in December:
Vietnamese have national holiday for a couple of days in the beginning the year so they tend to come back home to gather with their family. It means that it is less crowded less vehicles, less people in the big cities such as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh. And also more crowded in the beach cities such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, etc. as there are still some people who like to travel during this vacation with their friends and family.
Many Phu Quoc hotels & resorts offer the long-stay promotion rate (for example stay 4 nights pay 3 nights), many more travelers would love to be here. Also, there are some resorts only accept booking with at least 3 nights stay.
Almost all the hotel require a fee for the compulsory dinner/party in the Christmas’s Eve or New Year’s Eve. It generally starts from US$70-80 per adult, children under 10 years old can have a discount of 50%. So make sure to ask the hotel about this.
Book the table in your favorite local restaurant in advance or ask your travel agent to do it since all famous ones can be sold out quite soon especially for the Christmas’s Eve and New Year’s Eve.
So in general, if you ask what Vietnam weather in December like is, I reassure that December is one of the ideal months to see the most beautiful Vietnam. Let's plan and book now with us - Indochina Voyages to make sure all things are in place before it is fully booked.
