hey sin, do u have any tips on getting tattoos? i've never gotten one mainly because they seem really expensive and I don't know how much I want will cost, but also about pain and care and stuff. i'm sure you're not an expert or anything, but I was planning on trying to get a sw/dw tattoo across my wrists at some point (one on each wrist, maybe tied together with a red string of fate lol). thoughts?

ooo yes!! so, i only have two tattoos so it is true that i am definitely not an expert, but from what i have seen looking around/talking to tattoo artists/people who have more tattoos than i do, it seems like a lot of quality tattoo artists will charge somewhere around $200 per hour that you're in the chair + tip (depending on where you live). lettering doesn't take very much time; one of my two is a 7-letter word on my forearm and that took like...i want to say 20 minutes? i don't remember exactly how much i paid for that but it was definitely under $100. probably sw/dw + string wouldn't take much more time than that, and might cost less depending on time/artist. if you have an artist you're interested in, you can def hit them up for a quote as well — what you're suggesting seems probably very easy for them to come up with an estimate for.

(i will say that with lettering it's super important to get someone who can do very tidy line work and to take their recommendations about how large the letters need to be, or else they will become illegible over time as your skin cells shift and stuff)

pain depends on placement and pain tolerance and how much the artist has to go over the same skin repeatedly — there are some useful charts that give estimations of how much different placements hurt around online; idk how accurate they are but i like them haha. small lettering will probably be one pass, so you won't get the pain of like, big lines, then small lines, then coloring/shading or whatever, which will help a lot with that. mine are both in pretty low-pain zones, but i would compare the quality of pain to being scratched by a cat (although i think it hurt somewhat less than that? that's just the type of pain it is imo)

care is not bad i think! especially in placements that don't get a ton of friction (probably hip or ankle or whatever is a lot harder, because of underwear bands and socks and shoes and such rubbing against it? idk). your artist should give you recommendations for taking care of it that works best with their technique, but mostly it's a lot of like, don't scratch it or peel skin off of it (it gets itchy and flaky for a few days which sucks a bit but is fine, especially on tiny lines), keep it out of the sun, keep it moisturized but not smothered, leave the bandage on/rebandage it for 3-5 days, don't go swimming for a couple of weeks at least, etc. i have found it to be pretty whatever to get them to heal (depending on healing/how the session itself goes, you might have to go back in to get a touch up; my snake that i got back in november has a couple of lines that healed kind of fadey...that's pretty common as i understand it; both artists i've been to have offered free touch ups for 6-12mos, so that's pretty chill if you end up needing that)

i think the main thing is to pick an artist who does good work and has a clean studio, who you trust! that makes the whole process so so much better than like...not having that

Favourite Song: "MAD IQs," probably! It keeps getting stuck in my head...

Least Favourite Song: Out of the ones I've listened to, eh. "Choke."

Favourite Album: I think I'd have to say Razzmatazz (Deluxe Edition)! While I love "Do It All the Time," I'm not really a fan of "Choke"; however, I adore "MAD IQs," "Nobody Likes the Opening Band," and "Razzmatazz" itself, and I really like "New Invention" and their cover of "Boys Don't Cry." (I need to listen to more of their stuff, though; maybe my opinion would change!)

Least Favourite Album: Christmas Drag, maybe? It's super short and I'm not usually one for Christmas albums, so "least favorite" in this case kinda means "I don't really feel an urge to listen to it"...

Song that got me into them: "Do It All the Time" was the first one I heard of theirs and I loved it, but then I followed that one up with "Nobody Likes the Opening Band" and realized I freaking adore this band, lol.

How many live concerts have you been to? Oof, that's testing my memory! I'm going to say at least 20. I've seen Thunderpussy live 6 times, for example, as the band I've seen live the most times, so consider that I've also seen quite a few other bands and artists…turns out it's become hard for me to keep track! Also, I did not count any of the live shows that I worked doors for, even though I did get to hear all of them, but I did not technically get to see many of them, let alone for very long at a time (when I had the chance to check out their sets)…

What is the loudest concert you’ve ever been to? This is an interesting question: loud as it concerns the crowd, or loud as it concerns the music independent from the crowd? LOL I'm going to go with the music, specifically, and say several Thunderpussy concerts that I've been to. Especially the ones where I was pressed against the stage, so I was nearest to the amps of course. :'D (I REGRET NOTHING, although my ears were a little bit sorry after the end of those shows. lol)

Which show would you say was the most beautiful? I'm gonna get sappy here and say that the most beautiful show I've been to was the NYE show my best friend and I went to together. We saw Trash Fire (they certainly lived up to their name; sorry to say that), Constant Lovers (oh, I forgot about them, my bad, lmao) Bearaxe, and Thunderpussy, and I especially found Bearaxe and Thunderpussy's performances beautiful, but especially because I got to share them with my best friend. :')

Which concert do you wish had a concert film? Assuming this is about concerts I've been to and not just in general, I know that, like, the only band to ever have a concert film at The Showbox was Pearl Jam, but I would've really, REALLY loved if Thunderpussy's last NYE show at The Showbox with Ruby Dunphy had been a concert film. That was the first show I ever went to by myself (and I have repeated that action many times now, because my friends all live far from me and my desire to see bands and artists that I love far eclipses my need to have familiar people around me. Sometimes the bands and artists are familiar enough to me that I'm put at ease in seeing them!), and with love and appreciation to the other drummers who've stepped in for Thunderpussy, Ruby was and is in a class by herself (not to mention the perfect drummer for Thunderpussy). Any show that Ruby shows up to drum for Thunderpussy is a fucking great one, but that last NYE show was, in hindsight, bittersweet, and yet fucking fantastic. If this question was more general about concerts, then I'd once again give an arm AND a leg to see ANY show footage of Fanny performing live at Whisky a Go Go in 1969-1971 (because I want to hear/see them perform more songs from their first album besides just their covers!!).

42. Have you ever attended a concert alone? Yes! I don't drive at all so I've been dropped off at a venue alone.. honestly it's scary for me and my anxiety is worse than normally so I probably wouldn't do it again. I only did it one time because I impulse bought VIP for myself and of course I had no one to go with lol

idk my favorite concert?? i wish I could say it was mcr but honestly it's probably still twenty one pilots in 2017.. drove 8+ hours and camped for 3 or 4 days for that show so it better remain the best concert of my life 🤣 won't get that experience again (unless I get a better mcr show experience 🤞) I got barricade at that show and got to hold up Josh's drum during trees.. and yes of course I cried it was surreal, met a lot of great people but unfortunately I talk to none of them anymore and the fan base and newer music is meh now.. at least I have the memories

Trying to search for the members' "situations about leaving a belonging behind," episodes of a member leaving behind things came out, they were revealed...!!! (Interview was done during the first 10 days of May)

Q3. What will you do if you realized about your girlfriend's birthday after a day it had passed since her birthday?

REI YABANA

A1. When going to my destination, I have a habit of leaving behind things and leave like Hansel and Gretel, that's why I lose a lot of things. When I left in the classroom in my university the earphones that I got from Rinne-kun as a birthday present, since it was gone when I went back to pick it up, so I bought the same kind of earphones and use it.

A2. Daka-san (Motodaka) is really bad with forgetting things. All of the members must have seen him walking around searching for the other side of his wireless earphones (LOL). Just recently too, he forgot his coat at the studio where we do our band rehearsals and went home with just his turtle neck. Since he called me, "Is my coat in there? But I want to wear it for our YouTube filming tomorrow~" so I brought it home and gave it to him the next day (LOL).

A3. When I realized about it, I will immediately contact her and apologize first of all. If she can make time, I will bring her a present somehow or another and will meet her on that day.

[Recent Happening].

7 MEN 侍's blog in Johnny's WEB has started, and I am in charged of Wednesdays. *I ramble a lot that's why writing the sentences is fun, and I am happy that I can deliver my way of wordings without getting edited. They're long but please read them by all means!

TAIKI KONNO

A1. Basically, I don't forget my things. At home or at Jr. activities, I check my things before going out. Since the things that I must not forget like phone, wallet, pass case aren't a lot, so it's better if I check them before going. The experience that gave me chills when I forgot about it was about a homework during my school days. I do my homeworks properly until when I was an elementary student, but I started to forget my homeworks when I was a middle schooler, it was a lack of vigilance when I think about it now (LOL).

A2. The time when we went to Kyoto for our stage play, when I met with Katsuki to go to the convenience store, Katsuki forgot about the card key of his hotel room. It was a single room so no one is in the same room with him, that's why we had to ask for the hotel personnel to open it. I thought it is hard to be forgetful while looking at him saying, "I am sorry!" (LOL).

A3. That is bad, right? Yeah, it is really bad. I will call her immediately the moment I realized it and I have no choice but to ask for forgiveness. From there, I will wish her a happy birthday. As an apology, we will go on a date with everything she likes to do for a day.

[Recent Happening]

I had a long time of staying still at home, and I came to think that if I can freely go and play somewhere, where will I want to go (LOL). For now, I want to go to the sea. I approximately go to the beach every year but I couldn't go last year, so I definitely want to go this year!

KATSUKI MOTODAKA

A1. I cried losing a number of times my previous wireless earphones before having the one with GPS function, and even though I am using the lipbalm I am obsessed with, when I noticed it, I already lost it. It happened a lot of times and I really feel down over it. Recently too, I accidentally left behind the coat that I was wearing and went home, my mind and body got scared (LOL). For the things that I forget, I basically don't know where I forget it, *the hopelessness that I have lost them is tremendous.

A2. Honestly, I haven't seen anyone who got in trouble for forgetting things more than I do (LOL). Sometimes, when my family goes out, my mother forgets something and goes back to get it. But when she goes back to get it, the thing that she forgot is there at the house so there is no real incident that happened.

A3. That's the end our the relationship...I will probably freak out when I realized it.

But if I apologize, I will be busted for forgetting it, so I will make her the opposite by urgently preparing a grand plan and make her feel, "He planned all of these that's why he was late for my birthday." (LOL)

[Recent Happening]

The filter for kids of my phone got lifted. Since I have my Jr. activities when I was in middle school, so my father bought the phone for me and got the filter for kids be activated in my phone. Since for it to be lifted, I had to go to the store with my father so the filter for kids had always been activated in my phone. Because of the policies, I had a hard time not being able to see what others can normally see, but I have finally become a proper adult (LOL).

TAIKO SASAKI

A1. I forgot my key when I went out of the house, since it is an autolock, so I got locked out of the building. I contacted the control office but it seemed like it will take time for them to respond, so I took my chance and pressed the doorbell of a unit of someone who I don't know. I explained the situation but the owner of the unit is a foreign guy. I cannot communicate in complicated Japanese with him, I used a translation app in phone to explain and I got the door opened for me (LOL).

A2. When I went to have barbeque with my friends, even though I entrusted my cooler to the friend who was in charged of bringing the drinks, when I was about to hit the freeway, a person from the barbeque place contacted me saying, "you forgot your cooler." It seemed like for my friend, it was not his so he completely forgot about it (LOL). I'm glad I received the message before entering the freeway.

A3. This is a person who you must not forget her birthday, right? The moment I realized it, I will contact her immediately and I have no choice but to apologize. Or, I will think of a fancy surprise and and will tell her as an excuse that that have taken up my time.

[Recent Happening]

I am watching again the anime 「Dragon Ball」. When I saw a scene from it by chance, it made me want to watch the whole series again. It has around 300 episodes though (LOL). I've become absorbed at it when I was in 1st grade, but I still enjoy watching it now. It is interesting to think like, "What was this episode about again?" and also the way how my feelings [for the episodes] change.

REIA NAKAMURA

A1. I relatively don't forget things.

I think I don't have a story here that is a massive failure at least. It's just that, I may forget my promises with people. Getting a message, " You are not yet here!?" and replying "Huh? What was it about again?" kind of situation happens a lot. My excuse during those times is, "I overslept." Lately, I put a memo in my phone about my plans with people, I wonder if my mistakes reduced.

A2. Yabana forgot his contact lens and panicked, but no one can lend him, right? But, when Katsuki forgot his contact lens, the colored contact lens that I ordered with wrong prescription matches with his prescription by chance, so I gave them to him. Katsuki has a good luck, right?

A3. I'll call her to my house the next day and will solve it through a surprise. I will adjust back the date of the calendar and the clock to my girlfriend's birth date, and I will tell her, "You are probably busy celebrating your birthday with everyone yesterday, right? Today, let's celebrate your birthday with just the two of us."

[Recent Happening]

Heading towards 「Johnny's Ginza」, I come to the gym at the office 5 times a week, and the trainer-san is pushing me to workout hard. The other day, I was told, "let's rest first because you've overworked" for the first time. Since I didn't feel that I overworked, at that time I realized that I am really looking forward to the live.

RINNE SUGETA

A1. When I remove the bracelet that I super treasure and wrapped it in tissue paper during a photoshoot, I completely forgot about it and went home. *When I realized that I left my bracelet, I immediately got it checked, but I felt uneasy until it was confirmed the next day. (1/11)Oh my gosh yesss I'm glad that you like long messages too because I talk way too much 😂 (And yeah about my friend and just hanging out w/ her more that's exactly what I was thinking 😂) It's actually kind of funny bc just yesterday I was hanging out at her house and her younger brother needed to go to Walmart and I was like 'I've been meaning to go to Walmart, I'll take you' and ofc since I have a bluetooth radio adapter the whole drive I had my Spotify going with some quality k-bops, lol

2)And as we were driving I noticed him kind of jamming and I was like 'Oh my god Mickey do you actually like this???' And he was Like 'yeah, these are some good bops 👍' I was shooketh. I had to go home before I had the chance to show him any music videos but he says he's open to watching some with me next time I see him. One way or another I'm going to turn someone in my social circle into a kpop fan you mark my words ☝ and then maybe we can team up and try to work on his sister some more 😂

3)I only started first getting into kpop last June so I'm still very new, but it's definitely super frustrating how so many ppl act like it's an inherently bad or cringey genre of music just bc it's kpop! The stigma is ridiculous! I also started out with BTS (lol) and since they're pretty popular in the US at least I was able to be like 'See, this isn't just a niche thing, lots of people know abt and like this group' but of course my dad still says 'Just cause it's popular doesn't make it good'

4)And I'm like? You're a band teacher, you of all people should understand that music doesn't have to be in your native language (or even have lyrics) in order for you to enjoy it, but go off I guess... It's the same with one of my college friends. They make fun of me for liking kpop but this is coming from some who still treats March 22nd (the day My Chemical Romance broke up) as a day of mourning. Like, no tea no shade no pink lemonade, MCR was a good band nothing wrong with liking them.

5)But like if you're 22 and you still haven't grown out of your emo phase do you really have room to pick on other people for their music taste? 🤷 Anyway that's the person who follows my main that I didn't want to know I had a kpop sb. I think I made it around July. Tbh it was pretty dead for most of 2018. But like I said I've started using it way more since I recently revealed that it exists, lol. Especially since that good good Astro cb 👏💗😩 But honestly Astro is such a blessing

6)Idk how I lived so long w/o them. When I first got into kpop I was planning on just sticking to BTS since the reaction to me being into kpop was so volatile. I was like 'I'm only into one group, ppl already are negative about me liking kpop so I'm just gonna stick to this and not become a full on multifandom fan' and then in Nov I accidentally let myself fall in love with Monsta X and that plan was foiled. And realizing I wasn't gonna be able to stick to just one anymore opened the floodgates

7)And I was like okay in that case, let's just start getting into *all groups* Lol. My story of getting into Astro was actually bc of my best friend's roommate (can you tell I have like one friend and my whole social circle kinda revolves around her? Lol) so this roommate when she heard me being sad about having no kpop friends was like 'oh hey, I'm kinda into kpop' and it turns out she didn't like very many groups and was one of the ppl who blah blah BTS is overrated, which ya know isn't ideal8)But I was just really desperate to have someone to talk about kpop with. And Astro was her favorite so I was like, okay I'll get into them so that I have something to talk about with her! So I started watching some videos and I fell in love with them pretty much instantly! And I was real excited bc #1 now I can talk about kpop with someone! And #2 this group is actually amazing? Bonus! ... And then they got in a big fight about their living conditions and the roommate ended up moving out RIP

9)So that didn't work out, lol (Your story about finding them during that internship sounds amazing though! Haha) But yeah, so this is my first cb too! And although I love them w/ my whole heart and would have loved to have them in my life even sooner what an amazing cb to be your first! The concept was wonderful, the album was excellent, the visuals were to *die* for. They worked so hard and I'm so proud of them and I'm so happy we got to see their work come to fruition and get them a win 🤧🤧

10)The dance practices though? You're so right omg 💗 Me and my Rocky bias *fully* understand 😂 All of them are such good dancers?? I never fail to be impressed. In regard to your last question though Unfortunately I also won't be able to see them 😔 I live in the smack middle of the US and since they're only going to coasts all of the venues are way too far away to get to. Okay SO I’m very sorry I haven’t had the time to answer everything until now bc I’ve been busy studying for midterms and also I was a lil trashy today since my uni closed bc of freezing rain so I slept in but I’m glad that FINALLY everything got sent like damn tumblr you really don’t want us making friends huh.

Yessssss I love the feeling of seeing someone else also get into the same interests! I’ve been pretty lucky in the sense that I grew up around mostly other asian americans, so kpop was never something that was considered super “weird,” like some people were into it and some weren’t but even if you weren’t you still would’ve been familiar with the more popular groups from when you were younger. Even now, I have a bunch of friends also into kpop (one of them is even my roommate) so tbh I was definitely the one in my friend group late to the party aha. Even my university hosts kpop nights at our bar and I’m pretty sure we have a kpop dance team as well? So tbh if I met someone new there’s probably like a 50% chance they’re into kpop or at least listen casually.

Tbh I used to be a little bit judgy too but moreso because of the obscene amount of money I’ve seen some of my friends spend (no joke one of my friends has spent probably like $500+ on Loona stuff in the past month and a half and another friend bought like 5 copies of the same album for herself like damn idk how do you have that much money).

I also really don’t like it when people bash other people’s music tastes, since I feel like it’s something so personal? Idk but for a long time I used to be really self conscious about sharing my music with other people and even now I feel like that sometimes. For me after getting into BTS I kind of expected to get really into other groups since I was in Korea anyway and I was already listening to a lot of other artists casually. For me it started with NU’EST (fell for them immediately at the same concert that I saw Astro at) and then after was Astro, and then I just started slowly getting into other groups after that (even though I haven’t totally been able to get into Got7′s music they’re SO funny and I just kinda fell for their personalities you know).

I honestly think that they did such a wonderful job with this comeback too! I like seeing their concept evolve and mature but they’re not straying too far from their original cute concept so I feel like it’s a nice middle ground that’s very unique to them, you feel? Also I feel like the visuals especially and the execution of the whole plant concept was just done so well?? Even my friend who’s not in kpop was like “k idk who they are but that was the prettiest music video I’ve ever seen”. What are your favourite eras and songs? For me I’d have to say either the Spring Up or Baby era BUT right now my favourite song is probably Again/Should’ve Held On though tbh my mood and my tastes change like every few weeks loool.

I have no idea why I tend to be most attracted to the dances rather than vocals or rap (maybe has to do with the fact that it’s something I’ve always wished I could do but have always been bad at lmao). But Astro’s stood out to me for the exact same reason! I just thought it was so funny seeing them all break character at the end because you really get to see how hard their choreos are and you get a glimpse of their personalities like damn, how can you not stan these dummies?

That’s really unfortunate that you won’t get to see them either :/ They’re also coming to the closest city to me but it’s on a Tuesday, but I *hypothetically* looked up flight prices and tried to see if I could get away with just missing a day of classes if I flew back in the middle of the night since I have some friends who did the same thing and drove down to Buffalo but I seem to have underestimated the size of New York State LMAO. But apparently my university’s too far from the airport so it’s “not realistic” (and also I’m hella broke from travelling to Taiwan and Japan while I was in Korea but that’s a minor issue ig). I hope we do both get a chance to see them live though! Who knows, after the success of this comeback I’m expecting a lot more cbs and world tours out of them ;)
