7 MEN 侍 who charmed us with their passionate live in 「Johnny's Ginza 2021 Tokyo Experience」. For this month, we got their cheerful smiles ♪ We deliver to you in ample amount the diary of naturally overflowing smiles and happiness of these 6 people when gathered together!

MOTODAKA KATSUKI

[SMILE] I was happy when I heard that the official account of Japanese Fisheries Agency noticed me! They said, "There is someone from Johnny's Jr. who said he wants to join the Japanese Fisheries Agency?" and they mentioned my name. I made "うおうお TV", a series about fishes, in the ISLAND TV, and I wrote in my blog, "I want to join the Japanese Fisheries Agency in the future," and I think it is thanks to the fans for spreading my love for fishes to the world. That's why, I am really thankful!

[RECENT HAPPENING] I went to fishing alone in a long while and I had fun. I made measures to be not sunburned, I applied sunblock and wore long-sleeved top...But I got so absorbed in fishing and I rolled up the sleeve, so from my fingers to my elbows got sunburned (bitter laugh). It stings and it hurts~! But since I was able to caught 60 horse mackerel, so I was very satisfied♪ When I got home, I filleted the horse mackerel and rolled in shiso and fried those, I also did namerou (finely chopped fish with miso) and fish bone cracker. It was really delicious~!!

SASAKI TAIKO

[SMILE] (Takahashi) Yuuto conveyed his thoughts about 「Johnny's Ginza」, and he didn't only talk about 7 MEN 侍's  good points objectively, but he also talked about the parts where we have to do some more work. I am happy that he pointed out the things that are normally hard to say, so I am really relying on him. I was able to smile because I got an opinion that we can grow too! A relationship where we can discuss sharp reviews is valuable, I want to treasure everyone as close friends from now on too.

[RECENT HAPPENING] I went to watch IMPACTors' 「Johnny's Ginza」. Watching from the audience seat, I discovered things like, "if it is done this way, it will hype up the audience," and I also learned the hint on how to create a sense of unity during situations where audience can't clap their hands. I also learned that setlist is very important, and I also knew the importance of watching the lives of different groups. From now on, I will watch a lot of lives and DVD concerts, and I want to research on those and study them! 

SUGETA RINNE

[SMILE] I burst out laughing when I am watching variety shows. Recently, I like Chidori-san's variety show! I laugh everytime Chidori-san's accurate tsukkomi hits my humor. I always watch the recorded shows alone and burst into laughter (LOL). I get refreshed with laughing so it is great. Also, during filming or talking with the members...I smile when we are together. Since everyone is funny, so it is enjoyable to be with them! There are a lot of time when we are like, "this is funny, let's watch it again," and watch the videos we shot for Johnny's Jr. Channel and ISLAND TV.

[RECENT HAPPENING] I am happy that I got 2 rare cards that I like from the popular anime trading card arcade game ~♪ But, I got carried away and thought, "maybe a better card will come out" and I continued playing the game, but after that, I only lost! More than the joy of getting the rare cards, I regret wasting for game fee (bitter laugh). Whatever it is, it is important to know when to stop.

YABANA REI

[SMILE] I always smile at the members' foolishness (LOL). I really like the 7 MEN 侍 who passionately pursues to be funny than to be cool! When filming videos for ISLAND TV, we think of different things, but there are a lot of naughty ideas and plot twists, everyone's contents are like the contents of the boys in middle school (LOL). But, it can show our personalities so it's okay. Because of the videos, Taiko appeared in「Out x Deluxe」, and Katsuki also got a job from his videos about filleting a fish...I am happy that their contents landed them works! I also want to be in a variety show where I can talk about bass and musical instruments~! (praying)

[RECENT HAPPENING] In my "live setup" class in college, I've become the stage director. For the sake of earning some credits, I took the responsibility (/took the class), but I have to talk to a lot of my batchmates and juniors more than I did until now. I talked about the parts around the bass  to people who knows a lot about instruments, it's fun to be able to have a very maniac talk about those!

NAKAMURA REIA

[SMILE] I think The one that made me smile lately is when we started the 「Johnny's Ginza」!safely, we were unsure whether the shows could start as planned, but we believed the we can definitely have a live and we rehearsed with all our might. That's why, I was really happy when we were able to meet the fans! Moreover, I reconfirmed that being able to hold a live is not something to be taken granted for, and I was able to add more power to the performance. We tried to make it a live that would be engraved in the hearts of everyone so we rolled up our sleeves and determinedly performed. We were passionate in every performance, and it was so much fun!

[RECENT HAPPENING] I am concentrating in the rehearsal for the musical 「SUPERHEROISM 」which I am starring. (The interview was done on the first 10 days of June) During the break time, it was heavily raining, and when I went to buy a bento, I saw a boy, who is around at kindergarten age, wearing a raincoat and playing with a ride in the park. I remembered that when I was also a child, I didn't mind the rain and wanted to play in the park, and that scenery was heartwarming (LOL). I prayed for that boy to not catch a cold.

KONNO TAIKI

「Johnny's Ginza」live really made me smile! The online streaming is also fun, but the enthusiasm always rises more when performing in front of the audience! In addition, since the time we started playing the band, our bond really became stronger. In a band, it is important for everyone to produce one sound, so a practice is necessary. Before, each one's skills are in different levels and it was tough, but everyone became better recently, and we can now cover each one's weaknesses. Since I can now feel that, playing as a band became much more fun!

[RECENT HAPPENING] There is a studio where we can do band practice in the office. Our instructor teaches us a lot of things every time, but during break time, (Iwasaki) Taisho casually drops by to have fun, we sing together with my guitar accompaniment. A discussion on our superheroes!!

Riding with the title of the stage play in which Reia and Sasaki appears...the members talked about their own superheroes.

Without knowing it, they also drew their heroes!

The aim is with "strong body", "cheering up someone by doing my best," in other words, like an immortal idol.

TAIKO

● Since I was a child, tho ones who I admire are The Beatles' John Lennon and Paul McCartney. With the influence of my father, I listen to their songs even before I was old enough to understand what's going on, and I heard I told them, "I want to watch DVD" and watched it. My favorite song is「Blackbird」. The playing method of the guitar called "two-finger" in this song is cool. I haven't seen Paul's concert in real life, but he is already a legend to me since long ago, so on the contrary, I don't have to meet him (LOL).

● When I was a child, I watched dramas like Kamen Rider. I didn't have interest in goods, but until now I want to have the unique ability of being immortal (LOL). ● If I have a special ability, I want an power where I can eat infinitely without getting fat. *Eating without feeling guilty is endlessly delicious, isn't it the strongest?

REIA

● My heroes are GEN-san from the band 04 Limited Sazabys and TAKUYA-san from UVERworld. Because they have the elements of the kind of guy I want to be. With GEN-san's charm to attract people and TAKUYA-san's passion, and if you add a gap like Kikuchi Fuma's, it will be the best.

● The one who admire for his guitar play is Akira-san from the same group UVERworld. The phrases he play are so cool and the sounds are so cool too that I bought the same guitar. When we are complete, we tend to fool around. I think the time where we are united the most is the time when we fool around (LOL). We start playing around, even if there is no camera turned on, we continue fooling around and yet, those times are still super funny. Well, there are also times where we turn on the camera for ISLAND TV. But, the contents that we had fun doing are almost NG (LOL). Most probably, I think not even one tenth of the things we have done were uploaded. Especially if the contents are related to Taiko, the videos are mostly NG. We also always fool around during our band rehearsals. We have a band instructor, but he is good at playing along too so we are like doing club activity in an all boys' school. It feels like we are not working. There are a lot of adults during dance rehearsals so we can't fool around like that, but during band rehearsals, we feel free. But, of course we concentrate on times we need to concentrate, and the instructor also gives us advices on parts we need advices. Having that kind of balance is good, right?

RINNE SUGETA

I couldn't do it recently but before, when we perform with other groups, I tend to go to the backstage room of other groups than in our own backstage room. I and Yabana always go to Jr.SP's backstage room. That's why, when I and Yabana share the same room, our room becomes empty (LOL). But, since we are close with Jr. SP who we had worked with for a long time, so we are comfortable staying in their room. Moreover, everyone in Jr.SP are basically quiet. When we don't go to their room, usually it's because they are resting (LOL). So, on the contrary, if we don't go to them, I don't think they can raise their tension for the actual show. In other words, I and Yabana play the role of being the engines for those 4 people. Also, when I am with 7 MEN~ I tend to borrow makeup tools from them.

I don't have makeup tools with me. *That's why, my bag feels light (LOL). Also, I am not particularly picky with those so I think I will continue to borrow the members' makeup tools (LOL).

During rehearsals, Konpi tends to go somewhere (LOL). During rehearsals, there are break times right? After the break, when we decided to go back rehearsing again, Konpi usually doesn't go back. There are times when we wait for someone. For example, when we resume to the rehearsal, someone will say things like, "Wait, Konpi is still not here." (LOL) In Reia's case, he will suddenly put down his guitar and tends to go to the toilet quietly. Usually, he will inform us saying, "I will go to the toilet!", but sometimes he disappears in silence (LOL). Moreover, before the filming for YouTube starts, Daka-san alone looks at the mirror and fixes his bangs until the last minute, and I often get an upset stomach so I make them wait a lot too. Yabana tends to have an upset stomach (LOL). Another thing, everyone is lively and actively say their ideas when we are fooling around, but everyone tends to stay silent during serious talks. In the official site 「Johnny's Web」, 7 MEN 侍's blog 「Itanji Nippou~Samuraifu.~」has started! With the expectations on the diary project that the members write on daily except during Fridays, the motivation and energy of 6 people were told. (Interview was done during the first 10 days of May.)

Nakamura Reia

[Diary] I am really happy that 「Itanji Nippou~Samuraifu.~」has started! I only have written a few times, but there were only few chances where we could convey our feelings with written compositions to the fans until now, so it is really a fresh experience. In the diary, I want to show more of real me. The diary I have written so far is the class journal during my elementary days. I remember that I was really looking forward to the comments of my teacher. After all, receiving a reply makes me happy.

[Recent Happening] I suddenly wanted to play a game at night, I started playing a car racing game, but it was not fun playing it alone so I tried to call Yabana (LOL). I thought that the other members are definitely already sleeping, but just as I thought, Yabana, who is nocturnal, was awake and we played together. Moreover, we got excited and played until near early morning! Even when I invite him all of a sudden, he often plays with me (T/N: Lit. He often matches with my mood), Yabana, who stirs up the excitement, is a really good friend. I want him to stay nocturnal as he is now (LOL).

Sugeta Rinne

[Diary] 「Itanji Nippou~Samuraifu.~」has finally started.  I talked about it in my first entry, then I talked about radio show for my next entry, then when I put my spirit into writing an inside story from Johnny's Jr. Channel, I don't know anymore which topic would be good for my next entry...(LOL). But, the blog is a long-awaited chance, so I want to properly write what I thought at that time. I want to write in detail about the beauty regimen I am into right now. Recently, I finally decided to get a facial care device, and I started doing a skin care. I still don't know its effectiveness, but I am aiming for a more beautiful skin!

[Recent Happening] The sunlight are now stronger since it's going to be summer soon, so I am looking for a good sunscreen. I heard that the effect of cosmetics changes with the cotton being used, so I tried to choose a good cotton. I am searching for a skin care regimen where one can be prettier without spending much & with simple steps as much as possible. My goal now is to share it to more people! The more you do the beauty regimen, that more effective it is, and it is a "swamp" where the more you know, the deeper you'll get into it, and it is fun.

[Diary] 「Itanji Nippou~Samuraifu.~」just started, and I am looking forward to writing for it♪While I'm on the train or during my spare time, I can write about the content with my "off" state, so it feels like it is close to one of my hobbies. That's why, the tension may be lower than when I'm in videos, but I want people to think that that is "the real Yabana Rei." [Recent Happening] I broke a guitar. I put the guitar on my shoulder and played without checking if the guitar strap was properly attached, then the main body came off and fell. The cable that is connected to the part of a guitar was broken and the repair cost was 7,500 yen! Neglecting what I usually always do lead to a great disaster. [Diary] Since the fans read 「Itanji Nippou~Samuraifu.~」, that's why in a manner of being close to my real self, I want to write about something that is close to me. Taking turns with the members, we each update once a week, so recently, I take a memo of the everyday events and thoughts, and I try to do a detailed report to everyone. Since it is lonely to not have replies, I will be happy if everyone tells me what they thought about my blog entries.

[Recent Happening] Since my time at home has increased, I am looking for a hobby that I can do at home. What I want to try is craftsmanship! When I was a middle school student, making radio during our industrial art class was super fun. If I am going to create something now, candle and glasswork would be great. I think one's sense is tested more when the materials are prepared and the craft is created from scratch. Instead of trying to make one by following the sample while being taught by the teacher who is a pro, I want to try doing it by myself through trial and error so that I can show my personality! I wonder if I should suggest for 7 MEN 侍 to have a craftmanship project in the Johnny's Jr. Channel. It looks super interesting, right?

[Diary] I am happy that the platforms, other than videos in ISLAND TV and Johnny's Jr. Channel, where 7 MEN 侍 can be seen has increased! In the blog, I write just like the way I speak (LOL). I want for people to accept that my sentences are short because that is my character. I plan to write "one line diary". I will deliver my behavior and feelings at that time. Even in my summer diary, I am the type of person who finishes my entry with just a single line each day, so please do not hope that much for a long entry (LOL). What I want to convey to the fans is that, "Read my blogs if you want to know me!"

[Recent Happening] I often stroll during my day off. I want to move my body once a day so I walk 10,000 steps around within an hour. Since I am often being told, "You are fast," so I might be walking briskly. I concentrate in walking near the riverbed while listening to music, and I observe people too...I get healed by looking at the children playing, and when I see couples that are students, I enviously think, "They're enjoying the youth~" (LOL). Thanks to strolling, my lack of exercise is also solved!

[Diary] Since before, I like expressing things through writing, so there are a lot of things that I want to write about in 「Itanji Nippou~Samuraifu.~」. It would be nice to be able to share about my thoughts and things that I am thinking of on that day. I want to cherish the blog since I can directly deliver my opinions and my feelings. It would be nice if there will be a valued place for us and the fans. When I was a high school student, I read various books like business books, and from there, I took down notes of the things that looked helpful and my thoughts. Even when I read those notes again now, I still gain informations and I can check that, "I thought like this back then," and I thought that records are important.

[Recent Happening] I had the opportunity to appear in the reenactment in the special program「Aishi no Appeal-chan」that is broadcasted at the end of May. But, my role is an unlikable guy who unconsciously puts himself above other people! A1. When going to my destination, I have a habit of leaving behind things and leave like Hansel and Gretel, that's why I lose a lot of things. When I left in the classroom in my university the earphones that I got from Rinne-kun as a birthday present, since it was gone when I went back to pick it up, so I bought the same kind of earphones and use it.

A2. Daka-san (Motodaka) is really bad with forgetting things. All of the members must have seen him walking around searching for the other side of his wireless earphones (LOL). Just recently too, he forgot his coat at the studio where we do our band rehearsals and went home with just his turtle neck. Since he called me, "Is my coat in there? But I want to wear it for our YouTube filming tomorrow~" so I brought it home and gave it to him the next day (LOL).

A3. When I realized about it, I will immediately contact her and apologize first of all. If she can make time, I will bring her a present somehow or another and will meet her on that day.

7 MEN 侍's blog in Johnny's WEB has started, and I am in charged of Wednesdays. *I ramble a lot that's why writing the sentences is fun, and I am happy that I can deliver my way of wordings without getting edited. They're long but please read them by all means!

TAIKI KONNO

A1. Basically, I don't forget my things. At home or at Jr. activities, I check my things before going out. Since the things that I must not forget like phone, wallet, pass case aren't a lot, so it's better if I check them before going. The experience that gave me chills when I forgot about it was about a homework during my school days. I do my homeworks properly until when I was an elementary student, but I started to forget my homeworks when I was a middle schooler, it was a lack of vigilance when I think about it now (LOL).

A2. The time when we went to Kyoto for our stage play, when I met with Katsuki to go to the convenience store, Katsuki forgot about the card key of his hotel room. It was a single room so no one is in the same room with him, that's why we had to ask for the hotel personnel to open it. I thought it is hard to be forgetful while looking at him saying, "I am sorry!" (LOL).

A3. That is bad, right? Yeah, it is really bad. I will call her immediately the moment I realized it and I have no choice but to ask for forgiveness. From there, I will wish her a happy birthday. As an apology, we will go on a date with everything she likes to do for a day.

I had a long time of staying still at home, and I came to think that if I can freely go and play somewhere, where will I want to go (LOL). For now, I want to go to the sea. I approximately go to the beach every year but I couldn't go last year, so I definitely want to go this year!

KATSUKI MOTODAKA

A1. I cried losing a number of times my previous wireless earphones before having the one with GPS function, and even though I am using the lipbalm I am obsessed with, when I noticed it, I already lost it. It happened a lot of times and I really feel down over it. Recently too, I accidentally left behind the coat that I was wearing and went home, my mind and body got scared (LOL). For the things that I forget, I basically don't know where I forget it, *the hopelessness that I have lost them is tremendous.

A2. Honestly, I haven't seen anyone who got in trouble for forgetting things more than I do (LOL). Sometimes, when my family goes out, my mother forgets something and goes back to get it. But when she goes back to get it, the thing that she forgot is there at the house so there is no real incident that happened.

A3. That's the end our the relationship...I will probably freak out when I realized it.

But if I apologize, I will be busted for forgetting it, so I will make her the opposite by urgently preparing a grand plan and make her feel, "He planned all of these that's why he was late for my birthday." (LOL)

[Recent Happening]

The filter for kids of my phone got lifted. Since I have my Jr. activities when I was in middle school, so my father bought the phone for me and got the filter for kids be activated in my phone. Since for it to be lifted, I had to go to the store with my father so the filter for kids had always been activated in my phone. Because of the policies, I had a hard time not being able to see what others can normally see, but I have finally become a proper adult (LOL).

TAIKO SASAKI

A1. I forgot my key when I went out of the house, since it is an autolock, so I got locked out of the building. I contacted the control office but it seemed like it will take time for them to respond, so I took my chance and pressed the doorbell of a unit of someone who I don't know. I explained the situation but the owner of the unit is a foreign guy. I cannot communicate in complicated Japanese with him, I used a translation app in phone to explain and I got the door opened for me (LOL).

A2. When I went to have barbeque with my friends, even though I entrusted my cooler to the friend who was in charged of bringing the drinks, when I was about to hit the freeway, a person from the barbeque place contacted me saying, "you forgot your cooler." It seemed like for my friend, it was not his so he completely forgot about it (LOL). I'm glad I received the message before entering the freeway.

A3. This is a person who you must not forget her birthday, right? The moment I realized it, I will contact her immediately and I have no choice but to apologize. Or, I will think of a fancy surprise and and will tell her as an excuse that that have taken up my time.

[Recent Happening]

I am watching again the anime 「Dragon Ball」. When I saw a scene from it by chance, it made me want to watch the whole series again. It has around 300 episodes though (LOL). I've become absorbed at it when I was in 1st grade, but I still enjoy watching it now. It is interesting to think like, "What was this episode about again?" and also the way how my feelings [for the episodes] change.

REIA NAKAMURA

A1. I relatively don't forget things.

I think I don't have a story here that is a massive failure at least. It's just that, I may forget my promises with people. Getting a message, " You are not yet here!?" and replying "Huh? What was it about again?" kind of situation happens a lot. My excuse during those times is, "I overslept." Lately, I put a memo in my phone about my plans with people, I wonder if my mistakes reduced.

A2. Yabana forgot his contact lens and panicked, but no one can lend him, right? But, when Katsuki forgot his contact lens, the colored contact lens that I ordered with wrong prescription matches with his prescription by chance, so I gave them to him. Katsuki has a good luck, right?

A3.  I'll call her to my house the next day and will solve it through a surprise. I will adjust back the date of the calendar and the clock to my girlfriend's birth date, and I will tell her, "You are probably busy celebrating your birthday with everyone yesterday, right? Today, let's celebrate your birthday with just the two of us."

Heading towards 「Johnny's Ginza」, I come to the gym at the office 5 times a week, and the trainer-san is pushing me to workout hard. The other day, I was told, "let's rest first because you've overworked" for the first time. Since I didn't feel that I overworked, at that time I realized that I am really looking forward to the live.

A1. When I remove the bracelet that I super treasure and wrapped it in tissue paper during a photoshoot, I completely forgot about it and went home. *When I realized that I left my bracelet, I immediately got it checked, but I felt uneasy until it was confirmed the next day. I kept thinking that since it was wrapped in tissue, it might be mistaken for a trash and be thrown away...and my heart kept pounding.

A2. Katsuki forgetting things might be a usual scene (LOL). Before, the members took Katsuki's belonging and attached to the white board that is in the room as a prank. And yet, since he didn't notice it, we also forgot about it and went home. It was left there for 2 days (LOL).

A3. I will send her a message saying, "happy birthday," like nothing happened, and I will write a sentence at the end saying, "The last birthday message you have received is from Rinne, right?" For this month, they chose English words that they think fit with each other, and they stick to each other those words written in sticky notes! They were asked to choose only one English word that fits them the most. The theme of the talk is 「image」.

Taiki Konno

[My Image]

A flashy guy (LOL). But, I've been told that I'm a flashy guy since I was in elementary, but I don't think being called flashy from since I was young meant anything bad. That's why I am totally okay with it. Also, I am being told that I am carrying out the traditional Johnny's style but I am happy about that. My image when 7 MEN~ performs as a band is probably "the guy who doesn't move much" (LOL). Since Yabana is the type who really moves a lot, in comparison with him, it makes me think if it's okay for me to just stay still (LOL).

I think our image as a band is strong, but for us personally, we like to push both band and dance with the same amount of passion. We want to sparkle as idols when we dance, and we want to show more wildness during our band performance. I think to be able to enjoy those 2 patterns is the most interesting.

Rinne Sugeta

I am often being told me that I leave marks on the shows I appeared in, I think that's my image. For example, I cleared the first stage in 「SASUKE」, and I got the correct answer alone and got the prize money in 「QUIZ! ONLY 1」. But for Rinne, more than being conscious of leaving the mark, Rinne just work and play hard. But, since I want to play the game seriously, so even in YouTube filmings, I don't make thing funny and seriously do my best. That's why I don't know how I look like to everyone but I think I am very competitive. (T/N: lit. "I hate losing")

We are not Johnny's idols-like (LOL). Both in positive and negative way, this is 7 MEN~. Isn't it a difficult spot? I think because we are in Johnny's, it is better to be idols-like, but I think having a sense of familiarity with the fans is a good thing too. Moreover, I think we can easily do the weird things that the 100% idol-like cannot do in variety shows. That's why, I want for 7 MEN~ to try things without having NG (LOL).

Reia Nakamura

Typically, I think I have a strong idol image, but for the fans who know me well, I think they know my dark side (LOL). It's not like I have hidden it until now,  but when we started doing YouTube videos, that dark side gradually became evident (LOL). I think it's just that I am aware of being an idol, so I turn on the switch of my idol side. When I switch to my idol side, even though something happens in my private life, it makes me to not drag it to work, so I think that makes me work easily. I'm the type of can't be myself when I stand on stage. But, when we play the band, I am relatively close to my natural self.

Isn't it an idiot (LOL)? Since I do things that an idol would not normally do in YouTube. But it feels more comfortable for me to be seen that way. I have always been the type who doesn't want to pretend to be someone else. In that sense, I don't pretend to be someone else on stage, well, it's not that I am no different from my usual self. Since usually, I am really gloomy and walk while facing down (LOL). It's just that, I am not thinking of anything when I am dancing or playing the band, so the face I show during performances is also a side of me.

We give a feeling of Johnny's mavericks, but we personally don't think we are mavericks. We just do things that we want to do. 7 MEN~ is a group who can both dance and play a band, and since they're both fun to do, so we are not pushing ourselves too much. On the contrary, we might feel stressed if we narrow down to either just dancing or playing a band (LOL).

Katsuki Motodaka

A guy who always eats! Fish! I think these two are my images (LOL). Also, since those images are correct, I don't feel uncomfortable about my image. It's just that, I don't know what others think of my character because I feel like my image now is appearing in quiz shows too strong. But I really want to appeal as being a foodie. Since I am interested in food, I want to do a lot of gourmet report jobs like Ishizuka Hidehiko-san. I have a confidence that I'll be a good gourmet reporter if I study on how to do a good food report.

We are often told that we are mavericks. But, I, Reia, and Rinne, if anything, are traditionals. That's why, I don't think we are a maverick group. However, when you think of 7 MEN 侍 as a group, including the things that the group wants to do, you can see the group being mavericks and understand why the group is being called mavericks. It would be nice to have our own individuality among different groups. That's why, I am thinking that I want to push forward with our group's current direction.

Rei Yabana

Maybe my real image is different from what people perceive. Somehow I am perceived as a much better person than I really am. I think the influence of me using honorific language to the members in platforms like YouTube is big, but it's not like I use honorific language to anyone. Since Reia-kun is a senpai, so I can't just get rid of the habit of using honorific language with him from the first we met. But I don't think of using honorifics with Reia anymore. That's why, being perceived like a character who uses honorific language makes it like there's another me and it is making me uneasy (LOL). The real me is not that good, that's why I would like if people won't raise the hurdle (LOL).

A group who both does dance performances and band performances. That's the common ground of the 6 of us, so I can say that with all my heart. It's just that we still have not established 7 MEN's~ music. Singin' in The Rain

「Johnny's Ginza 2021 Tokyo Experience」has started!

7 MEN 侍、少年忍者、IMPACTors、Lil かんさい, groups that make you pay attention are each going to fascinate you on their stages. This month, these 6 people talked about their feelings just before the live and about the rainy season. (Interview was done around first 10 days of April.)

SUGETA RINNE

[LIVE] In the meeting, everyone chose 3 songs each, and decided which one to sing by voting. Everyone's opinion matched for the opening and ending songs! There's also new song versions which we haven't delivered before, so I am looking forward to the reactions of the audience. I am also happy that we can finally perform live our 2 original songs in front of our fans! I danced a little in the stage play 「Hidamari no Ki」, but this is the first time I am performing with all of the members. I want to deliver the things that I wasn't able to deliver in livestreams!

[RAIN] If you talk about rain, then the song is 「Imitation Rain」. It was my first time to be in charged of the rap when we performed it in 「Music Station」. It was very hard, I fully realized again how cool (Tanaka) Juri-kun's rap is. Rinne can't get a suntan on a rainy day so a rainy day is a good weather for Rinne! When the weather forecast says it will rain, I properly bring umbrella when I go out, but I buy umbrella in convenience store when it rains suddenly. The number of umbrellas keep increasing that the umbrella holder at home is already full (LOL).

NAKAMURA REIA

[LIVE] For the first time in a while, I am looking forward to be able to see the fans' faces, and the exciting band performance, since everyone's skills got better, we will definitely show a performance that is better than before. This time, the 1st song in the live that will be played in the venue before the show starts is a song we made. First, the 6 of us gave our opinions on what kind of melody we will make. Yabana made that in his computer and turned it into a song. Please pay attention to it, okay?! In place of fans not being able to let out their voices, ride with the rhythm and clap. At any rate, I will be happy if you fully enjoy our "live" show.

[RAIN] On rainy days, I don't want to feel the rain so I close the curtains of my room. For the umbrella, I am always using the plastic umbrella. I always forget about my umbrella so I gave up in using a decent one (LOL). With rain, the song that reminds me of is Kis-My-Ft2-san's 「ame」. It has a gentle melody, and I liked it since I entered the company. If I get a chance,  I want to try singing it.

MOTODAKA KATSUKI

[LIVE] I danced for the first time in a while during rehearsals and I realized again the fun in dancing! I also like memorizing new dance steps, dancing together with the members is fun too. Since we move a lot, so it also helps me diet! (LOL) We are currently practicing for the band too. The tempo is fast and my fingers can't catch up so I am in trouble. But we also have new band songs so I want for people to anticipate for it. It's been a while since we can meet the fans, so I want for us to spend a good time together!

[RAIN] The rain song that I like is Kanjani8-san's 「Osaka Rainy Blues」. Also, 「Street Blues」since it calms me down when I listen to it! Yasuda (Shota) -kun's singing voice and the melody of the song are the best, and I only listen to this song recently (LOL). During rainy days, I normally don't use umbrella. It is troublesome to bring an umbrella and I don't like for my hand to be not free. I run when it's just a light rain, and if it's a heavy rain...I share umbrella with Rinne who always brings umbrella or I have my father come and pick me up (LOL).

KONNO TAIKI

[LIVE] Since it's been while since we can peform in front of our fans, to be able to get hype together with them is the best. Since it's the first time for us to be able to perform live [in front of the audience] our original songs 「Samudama」and「Siren」, so I am really looking forward to it. We are planning to show something different from the performances we did in livestream and 「The Shounen Club」! I will do my best to make it a special live for us and for our fans.

[RAIN]

Our cover of 「Imitation Rain」in 「Music Station」left an impression. Taiko thought of the arrangement and it was nice to be able to perform it different from SixTONES-san's version. [LIVE] The live this time is gonna be the live that is formed by our ideas the most until now. Safety first so there are restrictions, but if we are going to do our ideas, I want it to be something that the fans will say, "It's the most enjoyable live until now!" That's why, the members discussed a lot and thought of arrangements. For the band performance, we are planning to do a fusion of Japanese-style and hiphop. It looks like we will be able to show a performance that we haven't shown until now so I am looking forward to it!

[RAIN] If you talk about rain, it is SixTONES-san's「Imitation Rain」. When we were given the opportunity to do a cover of it in 「Music Station」, I thought of the choreography and formation. [LIVE] I entrust the arrangement of dance songs to the other members, and I am in charged of the band part. Making tunes connecting the songs, and thinking of arrangements...I tend to go with the classic sounds so I confirm those with everyone and process the sounds (LOL). I am coming up with arrangements so that they’re not just their original versions, but are music that can only be produced live. The way of playing the instruments can change depending on the day too so the sounds also differ. We are making a progress everyday, so I think the fans will definitely enjoy our live!

[RAIN] I like TOKIO-san's 「Amagasa」. I backed up for Prince when they did a solo live before, I have a memory of singing it while playing instruments with Ogawa (Yu)-kun. It is a difficult song so I really practiced hard (LOL). I am an "ame otoko," (T/N: ame otoko = a man whose presence brings rain) since in the past, and it usually rains in the events I am at. During my experience of seining, it was raining too. Konno Taiki: When I'm at home or when I'm on the move, I only listen to western music. In someway or another, it looks like I have a phase for Japanese music and western music, and now I am into western music. I keep repeating the songs that I like more than broadening the songs that I know. There are a lot of songs by male artists [that I listen to].

Sasaki Taiko: I have fully mastered the stores in the suburbs of Tokyo that sell in large quantities!  Depending on the store, the proportion varies and that excites me~. For example, 800 yen for 24 bottles 500 mL of water, there are great deals and it is super fun. I also bought toilet paper that I split with my friend.

Nakamura Reia: We, 7 MEN 侍, are doing our best in playing a band and in dancing, we are a nonconformist idol group. I am good at skateboarding, snowboarding, drawing, and playing games. My strong point is being positive, my weakness is that I am too much of a positive person (LOL).

Sugeta Rinne: At the same time with band activities as our strength, we have members who are good in different fields like studying, acrobats, and drawing, we are a group with overflowing individualities. I am good at athletics and acrobats, and I was able to appear in SASUKE (TBS) last year, and I cleared the first stage in my 1st participation!

Motodaka Katsuki: Such as having a member with excellent reflex, a member who is attending college of music and can play various instruments, a member who participated in skateboard tournament, we are variety-rich-6 people who wouldn't be able to meet if not because of Johnny's. Among those, I'll be a graduate student in Waseda starting April and I have the character of a prodigy for now, but since I like eating, I think my real intention is that I want to be in charge of the food (LOL).

Konno Taiki: The way how everyone's special skills are different is our strength after all. Singing is my special skill, and being praised by Johnny (Kitagawa)-san many times is my pride. I am especially good in singing ballads.

Sasaki Taiko: Even among a group with diverse members, I am particularly being called the "mad dog", even in videos that are open to the public in the internet, I do challenge doing different things. Like wearing a frozen T-shirt while holding harmonica in my mouth (LOL). We are often being told that we are nonconformists, but we do the things that each one of us wants to do, and we are a group who wants to create the best moments with the fans who support us [in doing what we want].

Yabana Rei: Among the 6-member-group of guys who dances and plays band, I am the mood maker (T/N lit. tension maker), band leader, and in charge of bass, I am Yabana Rei who is an active student from college of music. The musical scale that I like is the Okinawan scale.

ーWith everyone performing in 「Johnny's GINZA 2021」this time, what point do you want to focus on?

Nakamura: After all, this time we can perform our original songs in front of our fans for the first time. We are also looking forward to that.

Sugeta: Yes, you're right. Since performing our original songs in front of 痺愛 ("Hime"; name for fans of 7 MEN 侍) is something that we wanted to do for a long time now. It has been a while since all of us did a live in front of the audience . With the 3 other groups not having a flashy band performance, we will fully have a blast!

Motodaka: The venue too, since it has the right size where you can hear the raw sounds, I think the audience cannot only fully enjoy [the performances] through their eyes, but also through their ears. Since I think for our performances, there are a lot of things that couldn't be transmitted through videos after all.

Yabana: Through videos like online streaming, there are performances that cannot be captured outside of the frame. Being able to fully see that is something unique to live stages.

Sasaki: That and after all, if you talk about the highlight of our group that won't lose to other groups, it is the fact that we are both playing a band and dancing!

Konno: Right! Performing with instruments and dancing, I think the audience can enjoy both. Since this is a performance in front of the audience after a long while, I want to do it a stage that can be enjoyed more than our previous lives.

ーA new fiscal year just started. The entertainment industry is slowly showing recovery from the Corona virus, I think this year will be the year in which the strengths that are gathered last year will be shown. A year from now, please tell your your aims as a group and as individuals.

Yabana: Certainly, using the strengths that have been accumulated last year, we will create a blast! I want for everyone to continue working on our mission with all our might. Personally, rather than going against the trend, I would want to pursue new possibilities that fit the current times, and together with researching on next genaration's presentation and production, I will make and arrange a lot of songs, I will devote my self to productions this year more than I did last year.

Motodaka: My aim as a group is for our name to get bigger than last year even just for a bit, and to have more presence among the numerous Johnny's groups. And my aim as an individual is to contribute to the aim of the group. Since my number 1 desire now is for my efforts to contribute to the growth of the group, I am thinking of challenging different things.

Konno: It's the same with me. Since each one of us received various works, I want to gain a lot of experiences this year too and widen our existence to a lot more of people. Last year, I was given the opportunity to perform in a non-Johnny's play, since I really felt the fun in acting, not only in plays, but I also want to try challenging acting in dramas and movies.

Sasaki: With being diligent in improving my skills, my aim is to be told, "You are more amazing than the previous year" next year. I want to do my best for our group name to be known more and more in the society.

Sugeta: In the previous fiscal year, I left a mark in my sports-related job, and also in my cats-related job (LOL). This one year too, I want to properly achieve results. Since I was given the opportunity to star in a stage play in March, not only variety shows, but I also want want to challenge acting jobs like acting in a drama.
