#i'm just saying. out of all the ships in the star war; sabine and ezra have one of the healthiest dynamics

it's actually, genuinely, honestly hilarious that in a fandom where popular ships include characters who are biologically related, characters with a 10+ year age gap who met when one was a teenager or even a child, and characters who have tried to kill each other, people hate on a friends-to-lovers ship with a <2 year age gap where the characters have a deep emotional bond and plenty of romantic subtext, because "they're siblings". my brother in the force they are literally not.
#i'm just saying. out of all the ships in the star war; sabine and ezra have one of the healthiest dynamics#right up there with kanera and bail and breha and obitine and maybe a few others. there are SO few 'problems' with it.#not that those 'problems' make a ship BAD when it's written well or in certain context.#just that out of all the ships to pick on; people choose THIS one?????#the one with character growth and found family and mutual respect??#the one with self-sacrifice and decades-long loyalty and obitine parallels and a jetpack chase scene????#what's there to hate???#and i would add a disclaimer about how if you dont ship them its fine as long as you dont bully but honestly?#i am so so tired of having to qualify my statements.#this is about the targeted hate. this has always been about the targeted hate.#and i don't care if someone loathes something i love as long as they they keep that loathing out of my personal space.#this has been a tag rant. thank you for reading.#btw i'm not being sarcastic about it being hilarious. it genuinely cracks me up to see people get SO hateful over this#for a reason that does not exist#as opposed to several other ships which DO IN FACT HAVE THAT OBJECTION.#like. oh my gosh. are you even listening to yourselves.#if u wanna have the don't-ship-siblings fight then puhLEEZE bring it to someone who ships siblings.#jessica's controversial star wars opinions#sabezra#(don't worry that this post is a vent because i'm getting bullied or anything. im not visible enough for that i guess lol)#it was written in humor not in hurt :)

I don't know if you have read about Filoni saying that anybody/everybody can use the force now, that it was GL's vision on the force which is clearly a misinterpretation imo, to me he's just trying to make excuses for his bad writting about Sabine in the Ahsoka series. I do like the idea of everyone being part of the living force but I hardly dislike to think that anyone can be force sensitive and "become a Jedi" like they are trying to imply now. I mean, being a Jedi is more than being sensitive i know but I hope i make sense in what i'm trying to say here. I do like Sabine in Rebels she is such a good character as she is, a badass Mandalorian, why everyone needs suddenly use the force and be a Jedi out of nowhere? I'd like to know your opinion about it if you feel like answering. Thanks.
I mean, I will give Felony this: I'm pretty sure Lucas did say somewhere along the way that the Force is for everyone/that everyone can use the Force. My issue with Felony isn't that Sabine can use the Force, it's that his writing to take her down that path felt disconnected from her entire established story and that he stretched the worldbuilding too far--being able to grab your lightsaber in battle, okay, sure, maybe I could accept that, but the ability to also give Ezra a massive push across that huge of a distance. The Jedi have always said the Force is for everyone, Yoda gives a whole speech to Jek, Thyre, and and Rhys about how they can use the Force to quiet their minds in the very first episode of TCW. I don't have Lucas' quote on hand, so take it or leave it as you will, but I do think "the Force is for everyone" fits with his themes. I just don't think that Sabine being written as a Jedi makes sense for her character, even given how lost and adrift she felt (not that we actually got to see any of the important part of why she would turn down this path, just suddenly she's here! and only monologuing to tell us what happened), beyond Felony wanted her to be special. And I'm all for female characters getting to be special (male characters get to be special all the time) but not at the expense of breaking the worldbuilding, because now being able to wield the Force means less, because it's being handed out like candy to Felony's faves, rather than something that has worldbuilding and thematic rules. But that's also coming from someone who cares more about the Force and the themes of the narrative than almost any single character in Star Wars, so I treat it as being rather precious, and other people aren't going to feel the same way. A lot of people probably did love Sabine getting to use the Force. If Sabine had genuinely only been able to do small things or used it to quiet her mind/feel connected to the galaxy, I would have been perfectly fine with that. That made sense to me. But that giant push for Ezra to get him on the ship? Blehhhhh, that was more about making a Dramatic Moment than it was about keeping to the themes of Star Wars. So, personally, I'm just kind of compartmentalizing it into "Felony's pet fave gets special treatment, I'm not counting it towards worldbuilding" because I just don't care enough anymore. XD

So...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do people actually believe that the relationship between Ezra and Sabine in Ahsoka will still be that same platonic sibling-type dynamic that it was in Rebels? Or does Dave Filoni seriously think that the viewers, especially casual viewers (who in all likelihood have seen little or none of Rebels), will see it that way?
I'm not going to repeat what several of my fellow shippers on this site have already said about Ezra's body language when he says the line, they've already done a better job covering it than I ever could. Not to mention it's been ten years since Ezra made this recording for Sabine and disappeared, and we won't have any way of knowing his current feelings on the matter until after we see him again.
Sabine, on the other hand...hoo, boy, there's a lot to unpack.
Being the celebrated hero she is to those on Lothal, Sabine should have absolutely no problem finding a very comfortable place to reside in the city, which has clearly boomed since the Empire left. Yet she consciously decides to live in Ezra's old place: a grungy old communications tower that was clearly never designed for someone to call it a permanent residence.
She continues to wear his old clothes. And I mean old. I'm not sure what they use to make clothes in the Star Wars universe or if it's more durable than what we use IRL, but you need to be taking good care of your clothes if you expect them to last a long time. Clothes tend to last up to five years or so before they need to be thrown out; Sabine has evidently been taking good care of Ezra's clothes for ten.
She has kept and continues to take care of his old stuff. She's got her own collection of Ezra memorabilia that is, again, at least ten years old with various amounts of wear and tear.
She continues to have dreams/nightmares about him, meaning that he and his actions seen in the finale of Rebels continue to weigh heavily on her mind, even after all this time.
All this is pretty over the top for someone who, at least according to skeptics of this ship, only views Ezra as a brother and nothing more. I understand mourning the loss of a close family member, but if Sabine truly loves Ezra in a strictly platonic manner, she is taking the "platonic" factor to its absolute outermost fringe limits. She is unquestionably obsessed with him.
So, yeah. Biased as I might be, I fail to understand how anyone could view Sabine's behavior regarding Ezra in these first two episodes of Ahsoka and come to the conclusion that these two are just like siblings and that's it. It just straight up baffles me.

Hi Sabezra community.
Am I an English speaker? No. That's why I apologize in advance for the crimes against the English language that I'm going to commit next. But I still hope you can understand me. I'm not even sure anyone will see this.
It's been a while since I came here to find people who love the same things as me. Like a refuge from the outside world. I planned to post something only when I had something interesting to share with you all, like a video edit or fanart. Things so we could have fun together.  The current circumstances didn't allow me to do anything for now, so I was just following things as a spectator.
Seeing all this ship war going on, made me feel like I wanted to get away from all social media, so I wouldn't see these things anymore.  I also felt scared to express my love for this ship too. I'm scared to post this now.
Even my mother noticed that something was bothering me.  She asked me several times what I had.  I didn't want to tell her, because she's also a Star Wars fan and I don't want her to know everything that's going on. I want her to continue watching our favorite shows without thinking about negative things.
I want to get the hell away from it all, but for once, I would like to post this to all the Sabezra shippers who are receiving free hate. I think you guys need some love after suffering so much hate and I need to get out how I'm feeling. Because that's all I can do for now.
This whole time, I saw your fanart, I saw your video edits and I read many of the beautiful fanfics you wrote (I confess that I haven't read them all yet, it's due to lack of time, but I loved everything I read).
I see everyone putting so much love into what they do. And I can't ask you to continue, because I myself don't know if I'll ever be able to post anything in the future. But to be honest, I don't want you to stop.  Am I being cowardly and selfish? Perhaps, but it's the truth.
But I'm here to remind you that not all Sabezra shippers are so active on social media, but we exist.
I've been a Star Wars fan for a few years and only watched Rebels during the pandemic. I started shipping Sabezra since then.
I was so happy that the Ahsoka series exists. And now I couldn't even watch Ahsoka or Rebels (I tend to rewatch the things I like many times). Because every time I try to watch it I'm reminded of this whole ship war that's going on.
So I decided to talk to a friend. He is also a Star Wars fan (and a fan of Rebels, which I recommended to him), but he doesn't follow things that happen on social media. We always talk about Star Wars, but we never talked about ships.  But today I asked him what he thought of Ezra and Sabine.
He is my childhood friend and we practically grew up together, so I thought: "If he sees Sabine and Ezra as just friends/siblings, just like he and I are, maybe I'm seeing too much in the interactions between Sabine and Ezra and and I should just stop shipping them."
But to my surprise he also ships Sabezra. He said that you can see in the exchange of looks between them that there is something (In fact, my friend and I never look at each other the same way Sabine and Ezra look at each other). And he thinks Sabine is in love with Ezra.
The same case happens with my mother, who also loves Rebels and watches everything from SW since when she was young, but without following all the discussions that happen on the internet.  When we watched Ahsoka, she said she thought Sabine liked Ezra since Rebels.  She said this without me saying anything about shipping them.  And when I asked her if she thought it was wrong to ship them, she said no and said she thinks they will be together someday.  (I know, this may never happen, but hearing this from my mom warmed my little heart)
Even a friend of mine who isn't a fan, just watches casually, asked me if Sabine had a crush on Ezra.
Talking to these people from outside made me feel better, because this may not have been the intention of Dave and the others, but you can see that, based on common sense, no one can blame us for shipping them, it seems natural to many people. And not all Sabezra Shippers can be seen expressing this around.
I have nothing against anyone who ships wolfwren.  But I won't lie and say I wasn't sad that the cast supported it so openly, while we are accepting crumbs. I confess that at first I felt betrayed. I haven't shipped Sabezra for as long as many of you, but I feel like I have. But thinking clearly, I understand them. Besides thinking that they can to ship whatever they want, just like us, I see it as a way for them to show support for the LGBT community. It is to be expected that they will do this. And it's okay.
Needless to say, I'm just posting this to express what I was feeling, I have no intention of hurting anyone.  I am completely against any type of hate.
I don't regret watching Ahsoka, nor do I regret that the series existed.  But I'm sorry to have seen so much fighting and hatred for something that was made to make us all happy. I wish I had followed everything in ignorance, as well as my friend and my mother. I think I'll start seeing things that way from now on.
I had a lot more to say, but I still don't know how to express them in words and this was turning into a mile long post.  My first post and this was huge.  I'm sorry for this. I needed to get these things out because I want to sleep and focus on the more important things I have to do.
And I want to be able to enjoy watching Ahsoka and Rebels again without feeling sick out remembering all the discussion surrounding it.
For now, I want you to know that I've been loving all the Sabezra content you've been posting. What I want to say is that I'm here and that I will continue to ship Sabezra until the end. Even if you don't see me interacting here.
Maybe later I'll regret posting this.
Maybe I'll delete it right away.
Maybe I'll never come around here again.
I don't know.
Too late. But everything is fine.
At least now you know I'm here.
I love you all.

Hey, I'm back with another follower celebration request!!! Any chance you’d be willing to do 11 and 13 with again Ezra Bridger? Unsure if this is still open, but if so this would be cool to read! Thanks 😁
Hello gorgeous, @skyofnostars
Thank you for another brilliant request and a good curve ball. So I guess you could see this as a continuation of your previous request, if you want, or on its own.
Hope you love it,
Love oo
The Plan
Warnings: Trouble sleeping, flirting, kisses, forehead kisses, tenderness, discussions of thievery, I think that's it. If I miss any please let me know.

You sat in the Phantom looking up to the stars, letting your mind drift back to the old days of when it was Ezra, Sabine, Kanan, Hera, Seb, Chopper and you against the world. Now it was just Hera, Ezra and yourself. Ahsoka and Sabine were still stuck on Peridea. Seb was off training recruits. Hera was busy with Jacen, not to mention dealing with the New Republic nonsense.
So really, it was just you and Ezra.
“Can’t sleep?”
You couldn’t fight the smile that appeared on your lips as soon as you heard his voice, you turned your head slightly to look at him, “Hey.”
Ezra simply smiled as he placed a gentle kiss on your forehead, while his hand played with your hair while his arm leaned against the headrest, “Hey, you okay?” His thumb gently rubbed your forehead back and forth.
“I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“It’s okay, I reached over for you and you were gone. I figured something was up, you love sleeping too much to let things keep you from it.”
You chuckled, leaning into his touch, “Yeah, I … I couldn’t stop thinking about Ahsoka and Sabine. I mean they’re stuck out there, just like you were.” Your smile slowly started to fall the more you thought about it, “I’m worried we won’t be able to get them back, or even how we can get them back.”
“Actually, I had a thought on that; but…” he held up his finger smiling at you, “you’ll have to follow me to the galley for some hot chocolate … sorry, hot white chocolate for you to learn about my plans.”
The smile on your lips simply brightened as you looked at him, “You haven’t forgotten.”
“You’re favourite drink? Never. Please.”
There wasn’t any further discussion, you simply stood taking his hand in yours and followed him to the galley, and ten minutes later as promised there was a very warm and very soothing hot white chocolate in your mug. You looked at Ezra with all the love and adoration you’ve been unable to shower him with for the past ten years in that one moment. How you were still able to love him after all this time, as though no time had passed at all was a miracle in itself.
“So you have a grand plan?”
“Oh do I!” He chuckled as he took a sip of his own hot cocoa, he’d been craving it for ten years and now until he was completely sick of the taste, that would be his drink of choice. At least in the evenings, and mornings. Maybe sometimes at lunch. “It’s simple really.”
“Okay, I’m all ears, since it’s so simple.”
“We steal Thrawn’s ship.”
The statement was so matter of fact, so simple and so incredibly insane. Your eyes fluttered as you looked at Ezra, utter shock strewn across your face.
“We steal Thrawn’s ship?”
“We steal Thrawn’s ship.” He shrugged, the answer was just that simple.
You scratched your head as you repeated the sentence another five times in your head, each time with different inflections, different tonal variations, and no matter how it sounded in your head, no matter how melodious those words may have flown out of Ezra’s mouth, that was just pure insanity.
A large sigh escaped your lips as you looked at your mug for a second before looking at Ezra, nodding. “Okay.  Okay. So … let’s say you go through with this absolutely fool hardy idea. That you steal Thrawn’s ship. Not that I’m doubting you, I’ve seen you do enough crazy things to know it’s possible for you to actually accomplish this. However, let’s go through this step by step.” You ran your hand down your face and let out a chuckle. “First, let’s start with the basics. How are you going to get onboard in the first place? I mean you can’t just knock on the front door and say hey I’m here.”
“Why not?”
“You’re not serious?”
“Why not?”
“Ezra! Stop with the questions and just answer me.”
He let out a smile as he took another sip, “Listen we have one of Thrawn’s shuttles. I have one of his stormtrooper uniforms. So … why can’t I just show up.”
“Because it’s Thrawn, that man has plans for his plans. He has backup plans for those plans. And then backups for his backups. I’m sure without a doubt that he knows you’re the one who stole the ship to begin with, and no doubt that stormtrooper had some questions when he woke up naked. So … yeah, I don’t think it would be that easy.”
“Maybe not if I just show up out of the blue, however, what if I snuck back on board during a fight.”
“During a fight?” Somehow this started to sound like a plan and that in itself was scary.
“Yeah, we could have Hera’s fighters, and maybe some other New Republic soldiers start a battle, while they’re keeping Thrawn and his forces distracted, I sneak on the ship.”
“And then what?”
“Then while I’m onboard, I’ll get them to abandon ship.”
You nodded as you listened, “Knowing you, you’ll probably do some Jedi mind trick thingy” you waved your hand in front of him smirking, “telling the bridge officer or someone in engineering they need to make a ship wide announcement to abandon ship or something.”
Ezra nodded, smirking as he took your hand in his, “Exactly, piece of cake.”
“Yeah.” You smiled, squeezing your hand, “That is, until …” your smile dropped, “until Thrawn decides the easiest way to deal with you is to kill you.”
“Sweetheart…”
“Don’t sweetheart me, you know he’s on the verge of a complete and utter mental breakdown. He’s dangerous and he could easily kill you.”
“He’s dangerous but he’s not all powerful. My ally is the force, and it will never let me down.”
Tears welled up in your eyes as you looked at him, “You better not die, because the only one who gets to kill you, is me. So you tell the force, that it better have your back or else.”
Ezra pulled you closer, resting his forehead against yours as one hand pressed your hand into his chest, while the other held the back of your head, keeping you close. “Sweetheart, I’m never leaving you again. Not when I just got you back. Plus we still need to figure out what Thrawn’s planning first, but once we have our opening, I’m going to take it, to get our family back.”
You nodded against his head, “Alright, but I’ll come with you. You’re not leaving my side ever again.”
He pressed his lips against yours, kissing you with determination and promise. “You won’t ever have to leave my side. I promise.”

I'm So Annoyed, But Not For The Reason You Think
Tumblr media
Look, I'm just going to go ahead and say it: Ahsoka should have been the basis of the sequel trilogy. The whole damn arc from start to finish made for a vastly more compelling story than anything The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, or The Rise of Skywalker managed to put in front of us.
Rogue One and Andor managed to take the original themes of Star Wars (rebellion against tyranny, the costs, etc.) and give them some actual depth about what it means to try and take down a tyrannical government. The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and now Ahsoka are exploring what I think is a vastly more interesting idea that Star Wars should have centered itself around for the sequel trilogy: now that you've defeated the evil empire, you've got to get into the messy and sometimes boring business of actual governing and how do you do that on a galactic scale? How do you deal with the Imperial Remnants? How do you deal with corruption? How do you, the New Republic, extend your authority and show that you're better than the Empire was?
There are so many story possibilities there and those shows mine that territory and do so effectively-- but what annoys me is that this is such an obvious arc to build into a trilogy of movies and they just... didn't. If the prequels were about the collapse of the old Republic into the Empire and the originals were about the Empire and its defeat the sequels should have been about the New Republic and securing the post-imperial future. That's the perfect arc of a trilogy of trilogies and saves us from such awful writing as, "Somehow, Palpatine has returned."
But, Ahsoka:
The series opens with Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson), a fallen Dark Jedi, and his apprentice, Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), assaulting a New Republic cruiser to rescue Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) who had been previously captured by Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). Elsbeth informs Skoll that Ahsoka is searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn who has been missing for years- along with her former companion, Ezra Bridger who was dragged to an unknown location by a Purrgil.
(It should be noted at this point that I have not seen any episodes of Rebels, but know enough of the characters to piece together what's going on. It would probably provide more context if you have seen the show, but it's not at all necessary.)
Ahsoka and Huyang (David Tennant) find the Star Map they've been looking for, but it's locked so, on the advice of General Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), they head to Lothal to meet with Ahsoka's former Padawan, Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), who agrees to help them and manages to unlock the map, only to have Hati show up, steal the map and stab her during a lightsaber duel.
Skoll and Hati take the map to the planet Seatos where Elsbeth reveals that Thrawn is trapped in another galaxy. When Ahsoka and company track down the droids that attacked her to Elsbeth's factories on Corellia- they and the New Republic get an unpleasant surprise, as a massive hyperdrive is being built, not for the New Republic but by Imperial Remnants for reasons unknown. They manage to get a tracker on the ship and it's revealed to be the critical parts for Elsbeth's ship, the Eye of Sion, ready to go and find Thrawn and return him to the proper galaxy.
Hera is convinced that allies of Thrawn and imperial remnants are seeking ways to bring him back, the Senators of the New Republic less so, and despite a sympathetic Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), they refuse permission to send Republic forces to Seatos. So Ahsoka, Wren, and Huyang go themselves, find the ship, and are close to figuring out just what it's doing when they get shot down and are forced to land on the planet below, where Skoll, Hati, and company come and hunt them down.
What follows is quite literally one of the best lightsaber duels in the history of the franchise. I would put it right up there with 'Duel of the Fates' from The Phantom Menace or even the original confrontation between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in A New Hope. Ahsoka and Baylan Skoll absolutely go at it and it's awesome. Ahsoka tries to tell Wren to destroy the map, but not wanting to lose her last chance and find Bridger, she hesitates and Ahsoka goes over the cliff, where she spends time In the World Between the Worlds where she meets none other than her old master, Anakin Skywalker. (Hayden Christensen)
Ahsoka makes some peace with her past- but not before Wren, Skoll and Elsbeth activate the Eye of Sion's hyperdrive and head out of the galaxy, just as Hera and a few New Republic forces arrive for a clandestine and unauthorized mission. Ahsoka and company figure out a way to follow Wren to the next galaxy, while it takes a timely intervention from Threepio (Anthony Daniels) to bail out Hera from being in real trouble with the New Republic authorities.
(Seriously: imagine how fucking badass that scene would have been if Leia herself had walked in. This is what I'm saying when I say this story arc should have been the basis for the sequels.)
In the next galaxy, Ahsoka and company find themselves at Peridea, home of the Night Witches of Dathomir and Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and his fleet. Wren goes out to find Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and Ahsoka and the company eventually reunites with them and has one grand finale. They try and stop Thrawn and Elsbeth-- but the Night Witches of Dathomir reanimate the Night Troopers sent to confront them (zombie Stormtroopers!) and eventually the parties are split once more, with Bridger hitching a ride back to the galaxy with Thrawn before sneaking off his ship and reunited with Hera and Chopper while Ahsoka, Wren, and Huyang are stranded on Peridea.
Overall: I absolutely loved this show. Love the characters, love that you didn't need to have seen The Clone Wars or Rebels to enjoy the shit out of this show. Loved so much new stuff! No Tatooine in sight! Loved the Night Witches! Loved Thrawn and his falling-apart Star Destroyer! Loved that he's loading up what I'm guessing are Palpatine clones-- which retroactively provides a clear, story-driven explanation for "Somehow, Palpatine has returned."
This is the Star Wars I should have seen on the biggest screen possible in the theaters. If I'm annoyed, it's because I can see the missed opportunity throughout all eight episodes of this show. That doesn't mean this show isn't awesome though. It is. Give me more, please. My Grade: **** out of ****

(This is my first post on here😅)
i wanted to get this off of my chest about
The Drama between Sabezra and Wolfwren Shippers...
So i have been hearing a lot of drama going on with the Star Wars Community between the Shippers of Sabezra and this so-called "Wolfwren," which i really don't get? Because Shin Hati, who is an amazing character, doesn't have a name of "wolf" but people say that Baylon (R.I.P Ray Stevenson) found her during Order 66 and trained her to be not a Jedi nor a sith but something else? My guess is a Grey Jedi term. who both used the power of light and dark sides of the Force. Then, somehow, it gotten worse because the actors shared some Shinxsabine art? Even though they're just using them to promote the Ahsoka Series, and i know that the actors like this "wolfwren" (in my opinion... it's a stupid ship name, and I'm sorry about that, but i fully respect it just... workshop the name) And there are two characters that have the name of wolf. Such as Clone Commander Wolffe and Mandalorian Nite Owl Axe Wolves.
But Shin doesn't have that, but people have been saying that Baylon is like a Wolf and Shin is a Cub wolf, which is.... odd. But literally, tho. Even people who shipped Miles and Gwen they even called them GhostFlower.
Which i totally get!
Because Miles listen to the music Sunflower, and Gwen is literally a ghost to all the Peter Parkers who have lost their Gwens in their Dimensions.
But wolfwren? I don't get it at all.
But back to the point of all this "drama" between shippers and these so-called "ship wars"
But people can ship whoever they want they are going to be people who will disagree on stuff no matter what. That's what literally makes us humans. But fighting over fictional characters and sending threats to the artist is not ok, and your choices will always have consequences. I am going to say the cold-hearted truth.
Dave Filoni won't have the These characters get together in Ahsoka season 2 because we all must learn by now that Dave Filoni always has a character die in the series. I didn't care what reaction Ezra and Sabine were going to have when Wren found Bridger. And they hugged for the very first time. That made me happy, and i was happy that Ezra was found.
But it is also up to Dave Filoni and the Writers to decide that. And knowing Dave Filoni, he is not going to do that. Because we know that he's gonna write the story for season 2 on his own again, like how he did with Ahsoka Season 1, and we all know that Sabine isn't planning to get into a relationship because she's a rebel (not the hero type crap) the rebel type where she ditches school and causes chaos to annoy the police crap. Plus She's so Mandalorian. And let's also not forget that Force-sensitive warriors and Mandalorians were once Ancient enemies until Jedi Knight Revan got involved in the fight, but that's a story for another time.
It is also not ok to force someone into shipping that similar fictional characters. We all have a right and a choice to ship what characters they want to ship.
And i am going to give everyone a reminder about Ezra and Sabine. Read this VERY!! Carefully!
They are not related. i get it that they have a Platonic Relationship. Some of you can see them as Siblings while others just see them as high school dorks/best friends/friends to lovers and all of that crap. Which i totally respect, and it's your own opinion and your choice.
And fighting over Fictional Characters getting together is not worth it, and let me remind you all that both ships will never happen. And i am sorry to both Sabezra and Wolfwren shippers... mostly to The Sabezra group since i ship Ezra and Sabine for a long time since Rebels came out. But never mind that.
And sorry for saying this as well..
It is also stupid of people to fight over fictional characters that aren't real!! This whole ship wars is useless and an excuse to make more drama to the Star Wars Community.
Star Wars is for everyone!
And then, really, people are getting pissed off about the actors posting the wolfwren art instead of the Sabezra artwork. And also supporting it. (No disrespect to the actors tho they did amazing playing as the Characters in the series) Come back into reality the only reason why they did that so they can piss off people in the community and also promote the series/making money about it. That's what actors do. Everything is about the money nowadays and money talks. But let's also not forget that they are under contract as well. And I can not say a lot of things about the series. And they didn't credit the artist that made them because the Star Wars Characters aren't owned by us. But the official account of Ahsoka did they don't care if its a ship. All they see is just big dollar signs of those characters.
I'm gonna say this again to remind you all again. But it's gonna be in big words.
"IT IS OK TO SHIP WHOEVER YOU WANT TO SHIP, BUT THEY'RE WILL ALWAYS BE PEOPLE WHO WILL HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS AND HATRED TO THE CHARACTERS."

One of the things episode 7 pointed out is how Anakin prepared Ahsoka to survive.
Tumblr media
Anakin: As your Master, it’s my responsibility to prepare you. So, practice these forms often. Or at least more than I do. I won’t always be there to look out for you. If we get separated, or something happens, you need to be able to make it on your own. Don’t be afraid. Just remember what I taught you and trust your instincts.
Ahsoka also pointed out she feels like she failed Sabine because she didn't prepare Sabine enough -- and that just made me think -- when Baylan let Shin go, did he prepare Shin enough?
Baylan claims he trained Shin to be more than a Jedi; so far, we haven't seen how different she is from other Padawans we've seen. Even how he set her foot to follow her own path isn't different.
Anakin's focus on Ahsoka was singular -- that Ahsoka would learn to lead her troops well and survive the war.
As of episode 7, we don't know what Baylan's goal was in training Shin.
But Shin looked pretty shocked that Baylan was parting from Shin, I feel like Shin didn't feel ready to cut off her braid.
Tumblr media
Shin was so surprised by Baylan's actions, I think whatever happened, Shin was still ready to walk whatever path Baylan wanted to take.
(Although maybe Baylan thought his path might lead to his death, he did this as kindness. Except... he didn't explain it to her).
I did think Baylan hand waved away Shin's comments about power or being part of a community, but it turns out he did take note. He just didn't say anything or clarify his position.
Baylan stayed long enough to ensure Shin had time to do what she needed, but his purpose prevented him from going to Shin's rescue. And, I think Baylan not appearing to bail her out finally sunk into Shin that Baylan has let her go, not knowing he stayed behind long enough to delay Ahsoka.
And Ahsoka deliberately did not use her lightsaber against Shin because, IMO, Ahsoka didn't want to kill a Padawan.
The Padawan only follows their Master, and Ahsoka was once a Padawan, too, who followed their Master anywhere.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka tells Shin to surrender her weapon and then offers her hand for help.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the look on Shin's face, the longing but also she does seem genuinely afraid of Ahsoka, and I want to know what the hell Baylan's been tailing Shin about Ahsoka because no matter how much she wanted to be part of this, Shin bails.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka stops Sabine from chasing after Shin, whatever happens, Shin is on her own now.
Shin might look for Baylan, or she might head back to Thrawn. I'm curious what will happen.
As one Master and Apprentice relation parts, another is reunited:
Tumblr media
Ahsoka's smile and then Sabine's smile, the way her face melts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the last one, she looks like she's holding back from crying, but she's a Mandalorian and a Wren, so Sabine doesn't let tears fall, but those feelings of care and love and happiness are all there.
(I don't know why some people read her expression as smirking when she's not even close to smirking here).
Ahsoka understands that whatever questions she has for Sabine, it isn't the time to ask them because she is also joyful that Sabine is alive.
Tumblr media
And that Ezra was found, too.
I love how Sabine can't stop looking at the two people she cares about in the Galaxy. Her family.
Tumblr media
(Please, none of them die or get significantly hurt in the finale. I'm okay with losing a limb, standard Star Wars to lose a limb!).
Also, I noticed on rewatched, it stood out to me that Ahsoka's ship has four chairs in the cockpit:
Tumblr media
The crew is complete!

Rebels Rewatch: "The Call"
In which we gain whale friends. :)
RIGHT, SO, FIRST OF ALL, ANYONE WHO CALLED THIS EPISODE USELESS FILLER OWES ME TWENTY BUCKS.
Even when I didn't know the purrgil specifically would be returning I knew this was an important episode for Ezra's character development and for growing his unique Force affinity for animal connection.
Technically falls under the Friendship Fetch Quest episode type, albeit on a bit more of an abstract level.
I love the touch of the fog on the inside window of the Ghost that Hera has to rub off. Everyone's breath fogs, and they even look a bit paler and more harried, eyes more lined, really emphasizing how cold it is.
Tumblr media
Ezra's face when he first hears the purrgil song, aww.
It's really interesting that only Ezra can hear the purrgil, even though Kanan also has the Force. Could of course just be his stronger affinity for animals--he's more naturally attuned to them--but he's also more sympathetic to the purrgil throughout the episode, the only one actually listening to them, so maybe that's why he's the only one that can hear. Nice little foreshadowing either way.
Love that even though Kanan can't hear the purrgil, he trusts Ezra enough to believe him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right, I'm suspecting I'm going to be using up a lot of my limited photos with caps of Ezra's face this episode.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: Sabine's double-take as she glances forward out the viewport and sees the purrgil.
Purrgil are presented as really interesting creatures, they're not actively malicious at all (unless you really piss them off lol) but they're big and tough-hided and can severely damage a spaceship just by brushing past them. They have natural migration routes that sometimes unfortunately run afoul of hyperspace lanes and ships traveling through them. They're connected to the Force. They live in space. They can achieve hyperspace, naturally.
They're like any herding group of big animals really, whales, elephants, moose, they need to be given a wide, respectful distance.
Which is why flying with them works. They recognize, "Oh, this is part of the herd now. Hello friend!"
Possibly the calls Ezra was hearing earlier was the purrgils' method of saying, "Hey, coming through, get out of the way!" because he says they calm when the Ghost starts flying with them.
Kanan praising Ezra for his good instincts. <3
Oh you know I'm gonna talk about the leitmotifs in this one, I gotta.
So! There are two main themes associated with the purrgil. One of them I'm going to call the "Hyperspace" theme, which is pretty self-explanatory, it's the track that plays when we learn that the purrgil can jump to hyperspace. This cue here that's playing I think might be part of the larger "Triumph of Nature" theme, it definitely sounds like it's in the same key and tempo. I'm calling it that because of the overall underlying archtheme of nature's wrath against the oppressive industrial world that features in this episode specifically and in Rebels and Star Wars overall. It's a very classic motif in extrapersonal conflict fantasy stories, the need to respect and live in harmony with nature, appearing in dozens of classic influential stories from Lord of the Rings to Princess Mononoke. (Both of which were inspirations for Rebels, funnily enough.)
Both cues are later going to come back in the finale.
All right, done with that tangent for now, back to Ezra making whale friends.
Lol he rolls his eyes at Kanan and Hera's argument.
Love how he immediately tries to connect with the purrgil.
The modified TIEs represent the Mining Guild's intimate ties with the Empire. The Empire supplies them TIE fighters to secure and protect their facilities and in exchange gets full exclusive access to the fuel they produce. Once again, Rebels says state corporatization of private industry = bad.
They're so low on fuel the front cannons stop working, Ezra's panic here is adorable.
LOL Hera's face when Kanan gets all smug about not shooting the purrgil. AND I LOVE THAT WHEN SHE CUTS HIM OFF ON THE COMMS HE COMES DOWN FROM THE TURRET TO PERSONALLY FINISH HIS GLOATING.
Tumblr media
They're so married.
Love this little music box chime in the music here.
Kanan so completely on Ezra's side this episode it's so sweet.
Therapist!Ezra strikes again, getting Hera to explain why she's not fond of purrgil. Characters around Ezra just seem to have a habit of telling him their darkest secrets lol.
I remember a lot of people kvetched about the physics in this episode, apparently not realizing that this planetoid we're approaching is the source of the gravity. (It's certainly large enough.) And there is atmosphere it's just not breathable for humans, hence the helmets.
The lack of fuel is mostly a plot device for this episode but it works, limiting the movement the Ghost is capable of, necessitating personal infiltration, which puts Ezra more in contact with the purrgil in order to realize why they need the Clouzon. Also another plot element done way better in Rebels than in Last Jed--*shot*
Okay okay, less sequel salt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shut up, let me have this.
Ezra completely not actually paying attention to the plan lol.
"You said you just wanted to look at it!" "I did look at it... and it looked bad." <3 Sabine cannot resist painting a blank surface lol.
Gosh this sequence is just so... there's so much lightness and wonder and it just evokes a feeling of flight.
Ezra reaching out to touch the purrgil like the embodiment of every tropeiffic "A Boy/Girl and their [X]".
This is not Ezra's day is it? Lol.
Underrated Papa Wolf Kanan moment: The sheer quickdraw frantic speed at which he put his saber together and shoves Ezra aside to block the blaster shot.
Seriously, I timed it it's less than a second from initial alarmed shout to full saber ignition and blaster deflection.
Kanan's absolute trust in Ezra awwwwwwww.
Hanging a giant lampshade on the tendency for their plans to go sideways lol.
This is a unique cue, feels vaguely like a 90s animal rescue movie score. Which fits.
The running gag of Ezra just completely losing his head to be all, "Whale friends! :D" is hilarious.
Purrgil get colorful after they "refuel", interesting note.
Aaand down he go.
Love this handheld (computer held?) shot tracking Hera to the displays on the wall.
Kanan's spinny flip. <3
And the worry in his voice when Ezra doesn't answer. <3
Tumblr media
:(((((
Ezra fortuitously landed on the back of a purrgil so he's not going to be falling to his death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is, though, in serious danger of suffocation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bbbbyyyyyy. :((((((
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again embodying the spirit of every heartwarming animal friend movie ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is so cool. Love it when things get Force Weird.
Tumblr media
This scene is also really well acted, Taylor does a great job of conveying the relief when he can breathe again.
"I can't believe we're gonna lose to this guy!" Lol.
Tumblr media
REMEMBER THE OTHER LEITMOTIF I SAID THE PURRGIL HAD? THAT REAPPEARS IN THE FINALE LIKE A HEROIC HERALD OF EUCATASTROPHE? YEAH IT'S THIS ONE RIGHT HERE.
"TRIUMPH OF NATURE" BABY.
And the nasty foreman gets his karmic comeuppance.
Oh he got ate. He definitely 100% got ate.
Ezra gets his own cool spinny flip.
And there's the "Hyperspace" theme, closing us out triumphantly.
Even beyond all the implications and connections this episode has for the finale (and hoo boy are there many), this episode is just such a fun classic kind of adventure. It continues the spacefaring as sea voyages metaphor, has a little bit of a environmental message without being obnoxious, has gorgeous animation, is so SO important for Ezra's character and his unique personal Force abilities and it's just... delightful.
Imma just sit here, smug in the knowledge that I loved this episode before it became Plot Important.
Jokes on you it was always Plot Important.

Favorite Star Wars headcanons? Feelings on Anidala? Favorite Star Wars meta — yours or someone else’s?
Headcanons... I don't have any really fun ones that I can think of off the top of my head, but I do headcanon ships (i'm a shipper first and foremost)
Din Djarin and Bo-Katan get married and their children rule Mandalore for centuries with Grogu as an advisor.
Korkie Kyrze is Obi-Wan's son (this is practically canon if we read between the lines of Dave Filoni)
Ezra and Sabine get together after they find him and reunite. And this one might come true very soon (i'm looking at you Ahsoka show, don't blow this for us)
Anidala?? You mean my tragic beloved?? I love them. Not because I think they have a healthy relationship at the end, but because of the tragedy. I love them so much and they hurt my heart because their downfall is inevitable and just- *crying* i love them. That's all I have to say.
Oh, man, there's just so many... how can I choose? Every time I read a new meta I'm like "this is the best thing I've ever read", so none of them stand out specifically at the moment.

Ahsoka s1ep7
That guy be like: false Jedi? Witches?? Space whales??? In my star wars?¿?¿? Unheard of.
Respectfully, please stop wasting precious time from these last two eps on this new republic nonsense 😭
Omg please let it be an audio recording of Leia saying "fuck off" in pg way
Do you think Carrie Fisher would've been on this show as a cameo if she could? Would've loved to see her say fuck off (in a pg way)
You can tell Ahsoka hasn't put these recordings on in forever...the little bow?
She be healing 🥺
I also like the tone Ahsoka used in "he was a great master" cause you get the sense that she mourns for him.
Idk I think that's a neat way of her moving forward regarding her feelings on Anakin/Vader (though I still wish they acknowledged it more in ep 5 but I'm still chewing on my thoughts on that whole episode)
Ahsoka really out there pretending she doesn't give a shit if they're in the wrong galaxy lmaooo such a troll, I love her
NO ARE THEY SHOOTING THE WHALES?!?!
NO STOP NOOOOOO
IF I SEE A WHALE DIE I WILL CRY I LOVE WHALES SO MUCH
The relief I felt when they all jumped thank god
Poor Morgan, she's so aware of the nonsense the good guys get away with when defeating their foes but she comes off so paranoid in universe. Doomed by knowledge of star wars' silly narrative quirks 😔
"Put her on a path of her own choosing so that no matter what direction she takes, we'll always be one step ahead of her"
That makes no sense
Just cause Thrawn says it and it's briliantly acted does not mean that was sound logic 💀
Huyang is me, I too find it bs that they sensed Ahsoka coming for their asses via space whale
Love how Ahsoka and Thrawn are out here playing 3D chess while Sabine and Ezra are just vibing in these big pods lmao
"The emperor died" "that's what people say"
Ahaha don't remind me of that, I will start biting
Omg Sabine being so offended and Ezra being so confused has me in stictches haha
Same bro, wish they showed us how exactly that happened
Fellars, when she says "it's complicated" she means "I saw my master get murdered before my very eyes and disregarded the last thing she said to me all in a desperate move to find you"
WTF WAS THAT SHOT TO THE SCARY WITCH RIGHT AFTER AHSOKA IS LIKE "I SEE HER" 💀💀
Sabine upon seeing Shin and Baylan: "NYO" 😡
Baylan, tf do you mean Shin's path leads her in a different direction?!?! All I've gathered from the 5 lines of dialogue she was allowed is that she wants to be on top, secure.
She did not seem too keen on joining the witches and sees the Empire as a means to an end. What's stopping her from just outright joining the new republic if you leave her on her own?! Seemingly the only thing stopping her was her connection to you and your teachings, ya dingus.
I like this show, but this makes no sense for the characters they've set up, why wouldn't he take her with him so they can both wield the ancient superweapon?? 🙃
Wait. The raiders in this whole different galaxy shoot normal ass blasterfire?¿?¿?
Come on, that's so boring
(They do look cool if not like normal star wars bounty hunter types)
Huyang is such a little shit, honestly his banter with Ahsoka has been one of the highlights of this show for me. Especially now that Ahsoka seems to have regained some of her original snark spark
DEAD ASS
Ahsoka dropping out of that ship RIGHT where Baylan is, IS THE FUNNIEST SHIT 😭
He really be like "huh, was sure I killed you 🤔"
"The Force is my ally, it's all I need" very Jedi of him, Kanan would be so proud
That shot of the hermit alien headbutting a raider with a pot is my fav thing ever
Yooooooo, seeing the saber actually lose some of its form when being pushed back with the force was sick
That piano 👌
Did Huyang just know Ahsoka was in trouble and instinctively thought "guess I'll shoot flares at her" 💀
Ahsoka is riding a space wolf, Filoni can finally rest
Sabine getting flipped was such a funny shot
Fight choreo go weeeeeeeee
Ok this guy really embodies Ezra well, this is EXACTLY how he would bs his way outta this pickle lmao
Props to Shin, if I saw Ahsoka barreling in like that smirking like a real psycho I'd have noped the fucke outta there instantly
Did Ahsoka just kick a hand that was swinging a lightsaber at her?!?!?
Truely deranged behaviour, pop off queen 😌
Why did Thrawn have a whole ass ppt prepared 😂
Ah yes, time, the thing I feel like this whole show did not know how to spend correctly
I can feel this season ending on a cliffhanger, I don't even know if a second season was announced beforehand but ain't no way all of this is concluding satisfyingly in one more ep
Ahsoka seeing Shin looking like a wet stray cat and going pspspsps is so her
Not Ahsoka being 110% aware she must be immortal or smth and using that knowledge for trolling 😂💀
That was such a good hug omg
And the laugh?!? I dont think she's laughed since rebels 🥺😭

Thoughts on "The Convert"
Spoilers below the cut
Well, that was...different. I'll admit, it was probably the first time I was actually a bit disappointed by an episode of The Mandalorian. It wasn't that Dr. Pershing's story was badly written (though it could have been pared down), but I just didn't care to spend so much time setting up the next plot element when we were right in the middle of resolving the first one. I would have been okay with him getting his own bottle episode, rather than sandwiching it in between Din and Bo's moments. It was very jarring as a viewer, but I suppose that was the intent of the writers in the first place. Din and Cara had both commented that they didn't have much faith in the New Republic and now we see why. There is still a massive disconnect between the citizens of the core worlds and the Outer Rim, and it doesn't really matter who's in power, there always will be.
Concerning Pershing's plotline - I would be interested to know what he was working on specifically with Grogu and how it ties into Palatine's comeback. Between this episode and The Bad Batch, there is a LOT of focus on the Empire's cloning experiments, but I feel like we just keep scratching the surface without ever getting any real answers. But I'll be patient. This chapter seemed to be focusing on the fact that the Rebels defeated the Empire and established the New Republic, and it took all of 5-10 years for it become nearly as corrupt as the Empire. Okay, that's an exaggeration. The people on Coruscant looked happy and free (which is different from the mood in the capital planet in Andor). But there's a lot to be desired with this new government. No wonder Leia didn't last long as a Senator again, she'd have no patience for the BS. I liked how they casually mentioned in this episode how they had so many resources tied up in mothballing their fleet. And now you know how The First Order rose up less than 30 years later (if you didn't read the books).
I believe the "convert" is actually Pershing, not Bo-Katan. He genuinely wanted to help the people of the New Republic. It could also be referring to Elia Kane, but she wasn't really a convert, she was just making it look like she was so she could feed information back to Gideon or the Emperor, or whoever she is actually working for, because it clearly isn't the New Republic. I wonder if we'll ever see Pershing again after he got mind flayed (Count Rugen: NOT TO 50!). And yes, sweetie, it *was* a trap, baited with Star Wars Biscoff cookies. I can't believe that worked. Honestly, after he hijacked 40 minutes of this episode, they better be setting up a continuation of this story.
Which leads me to...the 20 minutes of this episode featuring people I actually care about.
First question: *who* sent those TIE interceptors? Is Moff Gideon pulling strings from prison? Or is this someone else? Bo said that was a lot of ships for an Imperial warlord and I'm inclined to agree. Gideon didn't seem to have anywhere near that kind of firepower. My guess is this is Thrawn. Why would Thrawn bomb Bo's castle on Kalevala, you ask? I assume that Sabine and Ashoka are putting pressure on him, and he's trying to draw them out by targeting someone with strong ties to both of them. Ahsoka has been all over the galaxy hunting for Thrawn, but Bo knew exactly where to send Din to go find her. Which means they are still in contact. Sabine gave her the Darksaber and endorsed her as Mand'alor, pledging allegiance to her. Assuming she's still with Ahsoka looking for Ezra, she also has maintained ties. Thrawn won't like being hunted, he'll want to meet them on his terms when he's ready. If those were his ships, I'd say he's ready.
I recently re-watched the Rebels episodes with Bo-Katan just to refresh myself on the tone and dialogue of those scenes. In summary, After Sabine found the Darksaber in Maul's lair and trainied herself to use it, she entrusted it to her mother to help mend their broken family, who in turn gave it to Gar Saxon as a bribe to keep her family safe. Gar claimed the Darksaber as his own, and interestingly enough, had no issues wielding it immediately. But Ezra gave Sabine his lightsaber and she defeated Saxon, earning the Darksaber by creed, which her mother and others from Clan Wren witnessed. In 4.1 and 4.2, we see Sabine wielding the saber to save her father from the Empire, and Bo-Katan gives aide at Ursa Wren's request. Sabine immediately offers the Darksaber to Bo-Katan, but she refuses, saying she had her chance to lead and failed, referring to immediately after the Siege of Mandalore when the Republic made her regent. When the Empire. took over, she refused to bend the knee and was betrayed by the Saxon clan. "I am not my sister," she told Sabine, the pain of that loss brought the surface by the weapon that murdered her. Obviously, Bo's feelings for her sister had changed drastically. Later, when Sabine is torturing Tiber Saxon, Bo stops her and says "this is not our way". After that battle, Sabine once more asks Bo-Katan to take the Darksaber, and though she is reluctant, she accepts it with the support of clans Kryze, Rook, Eldar, Vizsla, and Wren and the Protectors. Contrary to the Armorer's very skewed narrative, Bo did not take the Darksaber because she believed it was her family's right to rule. She took it, because the most powerful clans on Mandalore were begging her to lead them against the Empire. They had already gathered to follow her before she even accepted the Darksaber. It was a symbol, nothing more. It was her actions and her steadfast devotion to her people that earned their loyalty, not the heirloom of House Vizsla.
History recap concluded, my next question is this: Did the Children of the Watch refuse to join Bo-Katan and the other clans in their fight against Empire because she didn't win the Darksaber in ritual combat with Sabine...or simply because they had another reason not to like her? The Darksaber was passed down through the Vizsla family line for years. Pre Vizsla didn't kill Tor Vizsla for it. It doesn't have to be won to change owners. That particular tradition only applied if the current Mand'alor was wielding it. When we see Bo and Din approaching the covert, Paz comes out to meet them. He's immediately surly toward Din (big surprise) and he doesn't believe him when he says he bathed in the waters. When Bo-Katan says she witnessed it, he replies with "Who are you, Nite Owl?" Are we really to believe he knows who the Nite Owls are but he can't recognize their leader? He knew damn well who she was. If Paz is closely related to Pre (and I believe he is, given the writer's choice to have Favreau voice him), might he be harboring lingering feelings of jealousy or resentment of Pre's former right hand woman? The Armorer certainly knew her on sight. We know she had no love for Bo when last she spoke to Din. And yet, she welcomed her with open arms.
Hence, question three: What does The Way actually mean to the Covert? Heretofore, I had assumed that the Mandalorians from Din's tribe were deeply religious and held a deep-seated faith in their doctrines. But even when Bo flat out tells them she does not follow The Way (not to be confused with the Mandalorian creed, which Bo-Katan has sworn herself to), The Armorer only cares about two things: which are actually one thing...the helmet.
Did you baptize yourself in the Living Waters to redeem yourself for not wearing the helmet? Yes? Okay. Have you removed your helmet since? No? Okay, you're in.
That's it. It doesn't matter if Bo-Katan actually follows The Way or has any faith in whatever else it teaches...the one (1) factor that determines if you are in or out is whether you cover your face at all times. Does anyone else find that incredibly odd? The Armorer never even asked Din why or for whom he removed his helmet when he admitted that he had done so. The circumstances and the who are apparently irrelevant. If you follow The Way, you can't even remove your helmet before your own clanmate, your own family. Ever.
I really hope that in the next episode, Bo-Katan starts asking these important questions. When it was known that Din removed his helmet, he was ostracized and shunned. No one touched him. No one acknowledged him. The Armorer didn't even thank him for saving them all from that giant croc - she just told him he wasn't welcome. But as soon as he was ritually cleansed of that most dire of infractions, everyone reaffirming him and welcoming him with physical touch and kind gestures. The contrasting behavior gave me whiplash. But seeing them touch Din and Bo's shoulders and being so welcoming is so psychologically powerful, it almost had me second guessing my reservations about the Covert. But then I had to remind myself, wait...real family doesn't shun their own loved ones for giving into the very basic human need to see and be seen by someone you love. The mandate to always keep their face covered is pure psychological abuse. It reminded me of that recent episode of The Bad Batch, "The Retrieval", when the corrupt mine owner had all those kids convinced he was being good to them, when really he was manipulating them with food and praise.
Question four: Did Bo-Katan just join a cult? This one we can answer, and it's most definitely not. It may not matter to the Armorer what Bo believes, but it matters to us. She is not a follower of the way, but so long as keeping her helmet on provides her with food, shelter, and some much needed companionship, she will cooperate...at least until it gets to be too much for her. I suspect she'll find ways around the rules before too long. But what of the Mythosaur? Does she now believe the legend? Right now, Bo-Katan isn't even sure she actually saw the Mythosaur. Katee's interview confirmed as much, addressing the concerns of fans that she was hiding it for nefarious purposes. Honestly, I thought it was obvious that she was uncertain - that's why she asked Din twice. She is second-guessing what she saw, and who wouldn't? I mentioned this in another post, but imagine if you were snorkeling at night and dove down in murky waters and thought you saw a plesiosaur...a creature thought to be extinct for millennia. Would you be telling everyone right away or would you second guess yourself? She was in a very dark place mentally, she had just visited her ruined home planet for the first time in years, she was remembering her dead father, and she had just read the plaque talking about how legend told that the mines were once the lair of the Mythosaur...she probably figured that all these things together might have triggered a hallucination. She doesn't know what to believe. And this sets her up for some amazing character development over the rest of the season.
There was a lot to unpack in this episode, and I am so very excited for whatever comes next.

my friend, my dear,, pls,,, rebels ask game numbers 1-30 👁👁 (and course feel free to break into chunks or anything I just NEED TO KNOW- I'm genuinely so interested in your thoughts)
This is my absolute favourite way of receiving an ask ♥️♥️♥️ Thank you for that!!!
I already answered 1 and 28 right here, 16 and 27 right here and 29 right here
This is gonna be a lot so let's get started
2. Which episode did you not like at first but grew on you after one or more rewatches?
I don't think I disliked any episode
3. How do you feel about the Ahsoka show being live-action Rebels season 5?
I have a complicated relationship with live-actions and I'd personally prefer they just make animated Rebels season 5 xd and I'm kinda scared they're gonna destroy the Rebels characters in that or totally disregard the show because some fans didn't watch it so they feel they can (and that they totally ignore important characters like Zeb and Kallus), I'm also too much behind all newer Star Wars shows so I don't really feel much about Ahsoka show yet, at least not til I catch up on the rest
4. Who is your favourite one-off character on the show?
Hm Zare Leonis I think, I liked the kiddo and kinda expected more of him later but he never reappeared
5. If you could change one (non-death-related) plot point in the show, what would you change?
Off a hard one, non-death-related? I guess I'd want to see more of Kallus in season 4 and more of the clones in general
6. What are your two favourite ships from the show (canon or not)?
KALLUZEB AND KANERA
7. Who is one character you feel isn't appreciated enough by the fandom?
I stay in my safe corner of Kallus stans, but I'd say he is overlooked sometimes. He and Chopper, who is like, one of the most hilarious character in the entirety of Star Wars
8. If you couldn've added an episode/story arc to the show, what would it be?
Kallus' backstory for sure, bonus points if it's an angsty one
9. Obligatory "who's your favourite member of the crew?" question
Hard tie between all of them, thank you (read: all)
10. Aside from season 4 episode 10, which episode made you cry the most?
When in the end of Heroes of Mandalore: Part 1 Sabine's weapon gets used on her people and she thinks it killed her family, I WAS HEARTBROKEN
11. What is one joke/moment from the show that always makes you laugh?
"We stole a TIE fighter"
"You WHAT?!"
Never fails.
12. Which design of Sabine's hair and armour is your favourite?
Hair: white and violet, I adore it
Armour: season 3
13. Chopper vs Palpatine- who's making it out alive?
Ideally? Chopper. Realistically? Chopper.
14. What is your favourite moment of the crew being a family?
When Zeb admits to betting Chopper in Sabacc and Hera lectures him like a mom and then scolds Kanan like an angry wife (in Polish she literally says "what kind of example are you setting?")
15. What is your favourite Kanera moment?
Everytime Hera calls him "Love" ♥️ (in Polish- "Sun"☀️)
17. What is your opinion on the World Between Worlds?
I don't know honestly, but it's interesting
18. Where do you think Ezra has been all this time?
Out in the Unknown Regions with Thrawn, camping and bonding
19. What is one of your favourite Kanan moments?
When he acts like a drunk, embarrassing dad

~
Din's hand is in mine as we fly back to Chandrila and I'm heavy with contemplation at what comes next. We have Moff Gideon to deal with, but I need to find someone who can help me in keeping him safe, who knows more than I do, and Yoda was hardly a help.
I need to find Ahsoka, in truth I don't know how Bo-Katan has managed to keep tabs on her but she has enough to know where she is. All those years through the rebellion we never met, it was as if she'd all but disappeared and has now emerged again. I'd known others, having briefly met Kanan and Ezra when Leia and I undertook a mission on Lothal and through Hera and Sabine I'd learned of their connection with her but in the chaos of war I'd never been able to find her, almost as if she never wanted to be found.
It frustrates me in those early years before the Death Star I couldn't have done more on the front lines like she did, but for the sake of Mandalore I had to operate with the same discretion as Leia had, and when it came to working with the few remaining Jedi I knew of... I couldn't give the Empire any further reasons to suspect me of being one either.
"You alright?" Din asks, noticing my quietness.
"Just thinking," I tell him. "We have Moff Gideon to deal with and I want the child to be safe and I need to know how we can train him to give him the best chance possible." In the back of my mind I debate leaving him with Luke when our journey inevitably takes us back into the moff's path, Luke has become a great Jedi but neither of us are prepared to train an individual like Grogu alone, or even Ben yet for that matter. Which is why I need someone who knew Anakin Skywalker, someone who knew an individual as powerful as they have the potential to be. "We'll get the kid and go to Ahsoka first."
He nods, trusting me. "Alright."
He heard me when I told Yoda in no uncertain words that I would marry him, he hasn't acknowledged them but I've felt something change in him since, as if he's suddenly at ease.
"It will buy us enough time for me to check with my contacts," I tell him. "Find out where Moff Gideon is and the type of strength he's got. From what we saw on Tatooine this isn't something we can handle alone which means we need to get the advantage over him in knowing what we're facing and having plans in place."
"Yes general," he says and squeezes my hand, easing me now as he tilts his helmet towards me. "Whatever the plan is, I'm behind you."
"I know," I say with a smile but say the words that have been playing on my mind. "I have officially ceded Mandalore and myself from the New Republic, of course since it was destroyed it was never officially made part of it but by association it's survivors were, the same as Alderaan. Now that politically and diplomatically all Mandalorians are under my authority not the Republics it gives us some diplomatic immunity to do whatever we need to do to kill Gideon without breaking the Galactic Concordance."
He nods along and asks "If you don't have access to the Republic's military we'll have to look to other Mandalorians for help."
Those words certainly do not comfort me and I tell him "Let's just make sure Grogu is safe and then we'll deal with Gideon." He nods again and I continue. "That also means as long as you don't break the Republic's laws I can protect you."
"So if I killed someone-"
"The Republic can still arrest you," I tell him, knowing that would be pushing it. "It means I can handle your ship being a million years old and illegal but not breaking into Republic prisons."
"That was one time," he says but pauses before adding. "I think."
"Mmm," I say and ask "Any other crimes I should know about just in case?"
"None the Republic know about," he answers but goes silent before adding "I used to be a different person. I did bad things, I ran with some bad people, I wish I could say I didn't do some of those things willingly but I did, I- " he hesitates "Alzoc III, that was when it all changed."
"Alzoc III," I repeat, having some idea of the things that happened on that planet during the war but don't let anything cross my face. "What side were you hired to fight on?"
"The wrong one," he answers and I give a stiff nod, having expected it. "I left a member of the crew behind, he got locked up and the crew hired me again some months ago to get him out. His sister was crazy and..." he trails off and shakes his head in a way I recognise far too well. "I was a different man and made some regrettable decisions-"
He doesn't need to elaborate for me to get it and so I ask "Which was the regrettable decision, fucking her or how you left her?"
"Both," he sighs while I could almost laugh, glad I'm not the only one with romantic regrets and from the pure revulsion I feel from him I know there is no need for any jealousy. "They betrayed me on the mission to rescue him so I left them there for the Republic to deal with."
"Look at that, you are the good guy," I say, able to sense his guilt and tease to lighten his own tension. "And it's good to know I'm not the only one with a messed up ex lover."
"Oh you aren't," he assures me but he's anxious as he tells me "And you aren't the only one with a past-"
"And we'll face both of ours together," I promise him and squeeze his hand. "Your past doesn't scare me Din."
"And neither does yours," he quickly says. "But you're a good person, you're a hero, I've never been a hero."
"I love you Din Djarin," I tell him, knowing he is a hero. "I knew when I met you what you are, but I also knew that very same moment that you're a good man, a good man who's done bad things but regardless of his past chooses to be good to save others. That ner cyare, is a hero."
I feel him draw a breath at those words and he takes my face in his hands "And I love you because you make me believe it." It's as I lean in to press a kiss to his helmet his voice breaks. "I love you so much."
I'm wearing a lovestruck smile as I touch my forehead to his "And to think, if you hadn't shown up on Tatooine..." he tugs me by the waist from my chair into his lap as we enter the atmosphere of Chandrila and I remind him "We can also get arrested for having sex in my cockpit in view of the horrified inhabitants of the city."
He chuckles "It would be worth it."
And that is certainly one unexpected benefit to this new relationship of ours, the incredible mind altering sex that's already left my body sore in the sweetest way and I hold him tight in my arms, that being the one thing better than the sex. Being able to hold him and be held by a man who truly loves me, one I trust completely.
The city comes into view and I climb off his lap to fly us to my apartment, thankfully fitted with its own helepad and when we enter we find Luke training Grogu, or rather trying and failing to get the child to focus during meditation. A lost cause.
The child's eyes immediately spring open and he waddles over to us.
"We're home," I smile at the Child. "We're home Grogu."
His eyes widen at the sound of his name and he makes a surprised exclamation and much to my own surprise he leaps from the floor into my arms and I catch him, exclaiming "Look who's learned to jump!" He makes a happy sound and I smile over at Din, for just a moment wonder what it could be like to hold another child in my arms. One I grew in my own stomach to be a sibling for Grogu.
But first it is past time we saw Ahsoka, one of the last survivors of the Jedi and then we'll have a war to fight I suspect, and I need to be in fighting shape when we have Moff Gideon to kill.
For a moment I remember back to all the lengths my parents took to hide me from the Empire, training me to fight while still letting me be a child, and I know I'll be reliving that history with Grogu.
"Cyare," I say, passing Grogu to Din while Luke watches with a close lipped smile. "Take him while I talk jedi business."
He nods and happily takes Grogu away, chiming his name in awe and Luke asks me "So, you learned his name?"
"We learned his name," I tell him and then the more scandalous news. "He is Yoda's kid."
"What!" he exclaims. "How?"
"Procreation permitted for survival of species," I say and watch the disturbed look that comes to his face. "I don't want that image either but he is Yoda's."
He feels the utter rage I still harbour and gathers "So you spoke with Yoda?" I give a stiff nod. "What did you say."
"Many things," I sigh. "Grogu was his child and despite all those years on Dagobah Yoda never once searched for him." Luke grimaces. "You can imagine that I let him have it."
"Oh I can imagine," he says and asks "So now you'll seek out Ahsoka?"
All we know of her comes from those who knew her, stories Bo-Katan told me as a teenager after she encountered her again during the early days of the rebellion by chance and the very little my father could bring himself to say when he discovered through Bo that she was still alive. Although through the survivors of Spectre Cell I did learn more, namely Hera and Sabine who I worked closely with during the war and in the aftermath.
I nod again, lost for what steps to take next, with Mandalore, with the Empire, but this one is clear. "We won't be safe until Gideon's dead and gone and Grogu needs all the help he can get."
"Find her," he says and hesitates for a moment before asking me "When you do, tell her I would like to meet her. To know someone who knew my father before he was Vader."
I nod and promise him "I can do that."
"Thank you," he says thickly and I know despite all his preaching about the code this is one attachment he still struggles with, his father.
And yet nowhere near as much as Leia.
"It would do Leia good as well," I say and he's hesitant at the thought of approaching the subject of their father with her. "It's my understanding Ahsoka was the closest thing to a daughter either of our fathers had before we came along, I think all of us could benefit from speaking to her."
He nods and agrees "So do I."
We give each other a smile and hear Din in Grogu's room talking to him.
"We know your name now kid," I hear Din telling him. "Grogu huh? I like that."
Luke sees me listening with adoration filled eyes and tells me "You've picked a good one this time."
"Yes," I agree proudly. "I really have."
"Everyone loves him," he tells me and I realised they must have had a meeting after dinner to ensure me bringing a bounty hunter home isn't a stroke of madness. "He's different that's for sure."
"He is," I say and tell Luke "I love him more than I ever loved Boba, I trust him completely."
"But are you coping with the fact Boba Fett's still out there?" he asks me, wanting to make sure I won't go on another mad hunt for him.
"I am," I tell him, surprised by that fact. "I have Din and Grogu, everything else feels so small in comparison. My past, all of it. All I care about now is keeping them safe."
"And what then?" It takes me a moment to realise what he's referring to. "Mandalore?"
"I got up on that stage in front of those holocameras and declared myself Duchess of Mandalore," I say heavily. "There may not be a Mandalore left but there are Mandalorians. I can't call myself Duchess, I can't call myself what my mother did, if I don't fight just as hard for them."
My fathers legacy is one I easily took up, is one I easily returned to, but my mothers... that is the one that is the hardest to face.
"I know you will," he promises me, having seen me through the purge. "You fought harder than anyone else ever could have, just because you lost Mandalore doesn't mean it can't be reclaimed."
I nod slowly in contemplation and tell him "Thank you."
It's then Din comes out with the kid and asks Luke "Did you teach him to jump like that?"
Luke's almost amused as he answers "I did."
Din looks at the kid as he leaps into my arms, a proud father. "Good job Grogu!"
The kid smiles and Luke and I both share a look, easily forgetting how something so normal to us fills people like Din with such awe.
"You ready to head to Corvus?" I ask him ready to keep moving, ready to finally meet Ahsoka Tano.
~
After a quick detour to Tatooine to pick up the Razor Crest before the Jawa's decide to take it apart we are on our way to Corvus.
I sit back and observe as Din dotes on Grogu, a true father, and for once I'm the one to make us food while he's distracted. Almost glad for some domestic life to drown out all the blazing uncertainty of what comes after this.
"Come on," I say lifting Grogu up after he's eaten and Din comes down below deck with me to put the kid to bed despite wanting to stay up. "No, you need to sleep."
Grogu protests I put him in his spot in the sleeping compartment while Din stands back with his arms crossed over his chest "Huh?"
"What is it?" I ask as he tilts his head inside the compartment.
"I'll have to make some adjustments," he says and looks around the ship. "I can convert one of the storage holds into a space for the kid and widen the sleeping compartment to set up a bigger cot for the both of us."
His thoughtfulness warms me deeply enough I almost become emotional. "I'd like that."
"Do you know who does Solo's renovations on the Falcon?" he asks me and I raise my eyebrows in surprise as he tells me "He said he renovated part of it into a kitchenette for his wife, not that she was too happy with that."
I laugh at that, remembering Han's poorly thought out marriage present for Leia, a kitchenette on board the Falcon. Well intended, but not quite fully thought out considering how Leia took it. "No she was not, but it's sweet the two of you are fast friends."
"I wouldn't say that-"
"Din, sweetheart," I chuckle. "I am happy you get along so well with my family and you and Han do have lots in common."
He's confused. "How so?"
"Well, you're two people who had less than legitimate careers, flying around in antique ships until you happened across two force sensitive princesses and now have force sensitive kids," I tell him, knowing Leia and I have indeed found it quite amusing. "And I'd say it would be Peli on Tatooine although she may have questions since the last time she saw us we were pulling guns on each other and now we're asking her to widen the sleeping compartment."
"Well," he says holding me by the waist. "I want to make this feel like home for you."
I smile up at him and wrap my arms around him as I promise him "You feel like home."
He tugs me in closer, helmet tilting down as he says "Maybe we should have left the kid in the cockpit considering the cots the only place dark enough I can kiss you."
I raise an eyebrow. "There's other ways."
He takes my hand and pulls me back up into the cockpit where it's harder for the kid to escape his bed and walk in on us, we don't want to traumatise the kid more than he already is. When we reach the cockpit he sits down against the wall of it and pulls me into his lap, my fingertips running over the beskar of his chestplate as he brushes the hair back from my face. We've had each other enough times by now there should be no nervousness, but this isn't sex. This is something far more intimate than sex could ever be when he lays himself out so vulnerably, the ultimate expression of his trust in me.
I hear the breath he releases as I kiss the inside of his wrist, lips lingering over his pounding pulse and he breathes "Close your eyes." But it's not his helmet he moves for, it's the fabric belt holding my tunic together and I smile as I realise what he's doing. Gently I feel the fabric come to cover my eyes and he asks "Is this alright?"
"Yes," I smile for him, so he can see it, feel it, and he ties the belt at the back of my head leaving me in darkness, leaving me free of one sense to feel others so much more intensely. "Now can I kiss you?"
I hear the thud of his helmet on the ground and the next moment his lips are on mine. Gentle, unsure, still getting used to the sensation. I take his face in my hands and hear the sharp breath he draws at the touch, feel the stumble beneath my fingers and kiss him slowly, wanting to love him how he's never been loved.
"Are you alright?" I ask him gently and I feel his breath as he huffs a short but uneasy laugh.
"Very."
Sex is easy, sex is about pleasure, but this- this is trust in its purest form, bending his code as far as he'll allow himself all so he can give himself to me in the most intimate way he can.
"Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum," I tell him, I love you, I will know you forever. "Ner karta"
He kisses me before repeating the words back to me "Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum."
And even now I can feel his lips I bring his forehead to mine, finding a peace in him I've never known before.
~
By the time Corvus comes into view I've been in his arms for hours, soaking in the pure bliss of him, but the moment we land it is pure business as we quickly realise something is not right on this planet.
We walk through the dead forest, saturated with darkness, until we reach the walls of a city.
I keep my head down with a veil wrapped around it, knowing my face would be recognised by whatever clearly ex-imperial operation they have here. From the pain I feel inside those city walls it is no wonder Ahsoka is here.
A guard atop the wall greets us "State your business."
"We've been tracking for a few days," Din says, finding it safer to let him talk and to keep silent, inconspicious. "Looking for a layover."
"Nice armour," the man says. "You a hunter then?"
Din nods. "That's right."
"Guild?"
"Last I checked."
The corner of my lip turns up.
"And her?"
"My wife," Din says with a hand on my back and I keep my head down, smiling to myself beneath the veil at just how much I like how those words sound.
It must be good enough for them. "Open the gate."
We walk in trying not to attract attention, but that's hard with Din, the big silver Mandalorian in a place as grim as this. There's armed men with rifles on the rooftops, which says enough about the sort of place we've stepped into.
"Be careful," I warn Din, able to feel a true darkness here, and take the bag with the child in from him to hold him close incase he finds himself needing quick access to his blaster.
He gives a silent nod and I walk beside him as he discreetly tries to question the townspeople with little avail until a man finally tells us. "Please, do not speak to them, or to any of us."
I raise a hand to quiet Din but it's too late as two armed guards stand behind us.
"The Magistrate wants to see you."
Din looks to me and I give a nod to keep walking, and as we're taken to the magistrate we pass people strapped to shock poles. Something tells me Din and I won't be leaving this settlement without a fight.
We're taken inside to the magistrate, a peaceful looking woman draped in robes with grey streaking her hair, but the energy I feel from her is anything but peaceful. My head tilts slightly as I find familiarity in her face, unable to put a name to it but knowing very well she is Imperial.
It's a strange thing, looking at a person you know will die very soon, likely by your own hand, but it is a feeling I have become quite accustomed to.
She instructs us to come forward and so we do.
"You're a Mandalorian?"
"Yes."
"And who are you?" she asks me and I feel a sharp protectiveness from Din.
I keep my head down, playing the obediently quiet woman. "His wife."
"That was not what I asked," she says and asks me one more time. "Who are you?"
"Tala, a native of Tatooine," I tell her, not elaborating and she doesn't ask further but still keeps an eye on me and I on her, indeed finding her face familiar. Although I am unable to place it, everything about her and this town indeed confirms to me this is an Imperial operation run by another officer scraping the bottom of the barrel for some control over another unfortunate population.
"I have a proposition that may interest you, Mandalorian."
"My price is high," Din replies, wanting to get straight to finding Ahsoka as much as I do, wondering if coming to this town was a mistake.
"This target is priceless," she says, piquing our interest. "A Jedi plagues me."
Perhaps not a mistake after all.
"That's a difficult task," Din says.
"But one my husband will do for the right price," I intervene, wanting to know where Ahsoka is.
"The Jedi are the ancient enemy of Mandalore," she says and I can feel Din's eyes on me. "But you would know this."
An Imperial who knows more of the Jedi than most.
"Like I said, my price is high."
And so she brings forward a spear, one I immediately realise is pure Beskar.
"What do you make of this?"
Din steps forward to examine it, coming to the same conclusion as I do.
"Kill the Jedi, and it is yours," she promises, reeking of the Empire and I know I'll enjoy killing her.
"Where do I find this Jedi?" Din asks upon returning it to her.
~
We walk back through the town, silent as we are escorted out while I'm formulating plans for liberating the town and killing the Imperials. But first we must find Ahsoka.
But just as we pass through the walls the man escorting us says to Din "You should leave your woman here. We'll take good care of her."
Again I feel that sharp protectiveness but something far more primal than before as he roughly reaches for my waist so he doesn't reach for a blaster and it takes him a moment to calm himself enough before saying "She comes with me."
But the men exchange a glance before trying their luck "Are you-"
I immediately take Din's hand before he can reach a weapon and he leaves no room for argument as he repeats "She comes with me." The men certainly do not try to argue, it's not until we are out of ear shot he finally speaks "When can I kill them?"
"Soon," I promise him. "You get to kill them and I get to kill the magistrate."
He nods and asks me "Imperials?"
"Yes," I answer. "We aren't leaving until the town is liberated."
"Wasn't planning on it," he assures me as we venture deeper into the wasteland of a forest and I remove my veil and put it into the bag holding Grogu before passing him back to Din as I feel a presence. "What is it?"
And it's only a moment later when a blur jumps down upon us and my saber meets hers. The sight of another Jedi is enough to throw her off her attack and I look into the shocked eyes of Ahsoka Tano.
"Ahsoka, my name is Kyra," I tell her, but she still does not trust me. "Kyra Kenobi."
She lowers her sabers, eyeing me in disbelief. "Kenobi?" There's a sadness in her eye as she says "You're Obi-Wan's daughter." She withdraws her sabers and takes me in with a sadness before remarking "You take after him." She looks past me to Grogu and sighs in realisation. "Bo-Katan told you where I was, didn't she?"
Bo-Katan was the one who found Ahsoka during the rebellion, who told my father of her survival before Bail ever dared tell him that Ahsoka worked for the rebellion. I know my father looked for her but he was never able to find her before he was killed. There was always a sadness in his eye at the mention of her, he told me she was the padawan of Anakin Skywalker and the rest I pieced together after the war.
"My father looked for you before the war," I tell her and she blinks at me in surprise, and almost pain. "I don't know how Bo-Katan found you but I know who you are and I need your help. This child needs your help."
"You know who I was," she corrects and steps past me towards Din, looking at Grogu in his arms and back to me. "I heard about all you did during the war from mutual friends of ours, how you fought for Mandalore as a Mandalorian, I'd assumed you'd given up the Jedi way."
"My father did, and so did I for a long time," I confess to her. "But this child has come into my care and he needs me because the Empire- or what's left of them- they won't give up looking for him." She's hesitant and I continue "I know you fought the Inquisitors and Empire before the war broke out, and I know you and my father meant something to each other before the Empire took over so I am asking you to please help me. If not for him, or even for Bo-Katan, then because it is your duty to help this child."
"Your father was a second master to me," she tells me and quietly says "At the end we fought because of a decision the council had made, but he was better than the rest of them, and I am sorry for how he died. Bo-Katan, she told me he was killed by Vader."
"I saw it," I tell her, the wound after all these years still wide open. "I loved him more than anything and he died saving us, Anakin's children and I. He spent my entire life trying to right his wrongs, to take care of Anakin's children and myself." Her eyes sadden before they widen. "His children are good Ahsoka, they are everything he could have been."
"Children?" she asks and I still. "There is more than one?"
"Luke and Leia," I tell her and watch something in her eyes change at Leia's name. "Princess Leia Organa."
"Bail's daughter," she sighs in realisation. "I should have known." But it's then a horror dawns on her "Alderaan-"
"Vader tortured her and then made her watch," I say and she shuts her eyes in pain. "Her own father tortured her and destroyed everything she ever knew and loved. Luke may have forgiven him, but not Leia."
"Anakin," I hear her whisper, shaking her head and she laments. "I should have come searching for them, but I- I knew it would only put them in danger. It wasn't until I heard that Luke Skywalker blew up the death star I realised the truth. I was at their mothers funeral ... she still looked pregnant but it seems that was on purpose." Sadly she looks at me and says "Your mother was there as well, I felt she was pregnant but I could never have imagined Obi-Wan was the father. He always obeyed the code, but it seems even he wasn't perfect."
"He didn't know until after I was born my mother was pregnant," I say quietly. "He'd gone into hiding after Order 66. He took Luke to Anakin's step family on Tatooine and Leia... well Bail Organa adopted her. I'd known her and loved her as a sister since we were ten years old, we became family after our parents died, and yet I never knew the truth until the end of the war."
"Well," she says, finding a light in this. "I know your fathers and nothing would have made them happier to know that you're family."
"Leia has a son, named Ben after my father." I see something in her eyes, a remorse, guilt almost, that she was not there for it and look at Grogu in Din's arms. "Ahsoka we really need your help, and so do Luke and Leia. The Empire will stop at nothing to get their hands on my padawan, my foundling, and I just know they'll come for Ben as well."
She nods slowly and tells me "I'll see what I can do."
~
Din and I sit watching her as she gets into Grogu's head, convening with him in a way I haven't been able to. I'm watching with an understanding of what is happening, but Din is just confused.
He leans over to me and whispers "What is she doing?"
I hush him. "Be patient."
Finally she brings him back over to us, both of us noticing how Grogu seems to be speaking with her and realise how much may still be lacking in my own training.
"Do you understand him?" I ask her, able to connect with him on some level but it's been so long since I've been as deeply connected with the force as she is.
"In a way," she replies. "Grogu and I can feel each other's thoughts."
"We went to the temple on Coruscant, searching through the database for him and found he was Yoda's," I say and she seems scandalised, a little disturbed as well, but then surprised.
"You met Yoda, I thought he died during Order 66?"
"Luke and I went searching for him on my fathers advice," I tell her and smile at the memory. "As soon as he heard the names Kenobi and Skywalker he started swatting us off like insects with a stick."
The thought of that makes her laugh. "He would. Your father, Anakin and I, we were quite the disaster lineage. Anakin was my master but in a way he was more like a big brother, your father was the responsible one but even he wasn't immune to causing a little chaos."
"That does sound like him," I smile fondly. "He raised me first as his daughter, and second as a Jedi, mostly for my own protection. So when I learned Yoda just abandoned Grogu well- as it would seem Yoda's force ghost is still quite alive and it wasn't pretty for him."
"I don't doubt that," she tells me, understanding me in a way that's uncomfortable. "You have your mother's passion for justice, and your aunt's anger, but your father's strife of being left with a padawan who is unique and hunted in so many ways. He was left to raise a child with exceptional strength in the force, and it seems that legacy carries onto you now. Can he still wield the force?"
"Yes," I answer, looking at him. "When we try to get him to do it on command he's just like a child who wants to play, but the moment he or us are in danger his command of the force is unlike anything I've ever seen. It seems to come out most when he is afraid."
She nods. "That would make sense. He has had to survive for a long time, and hiding his abilities would have been a great part of that as you would know."
Din finally speaks. "I was tasked to bring him to a Jedi, and I found Kyra. Since then we've been running from Moff Gideon, trying to find someone who knows more about how to help him than we do. He needs your help."
Ahsoka's face is heavy as she contemplates this, before finally deciding. "Let him sleep, I'll test him in the morning."
~
Come morning I stand with Ahsoka, Din sits nearby listening, not having gotten much sleep. Stressing about Grogu being assessed despite reassuring him he'll be fine.
"So, you trained Anakin's children?" Ahsoka inquires.
"I trained Luke after my father was killed, I was just nineteen. Half the time I had no idea what I was doing, let alone if I was doing it right but somehow I didn't mess up as badly as I thought I would," I tell her and somehow I know as she looks upon me she sees my father and I wonder if he once said similar words about Anakain. "After the war I trained Leia, she was a better student than Luke much to his surprise. I suppose that while Luke was gentle she had a real fire in her, she had from the day I met her but she elected to go into politics."
"Just like her mother," she remembers, we have learned who Padmé Amidala was but know little of her. "They'd be so proud of them both." I smile to myself as she takes Grogu. "Let's see what knowledge is lurking inside that little mind."
Din's been letting me handle everything without having much to say, but I can feel that he's nervous as he comes to stand by my side.
"It's fine cyare," I promise him, squeezing his hand as Ahsoka walks away with Grogu and sets him down. "There's no need to worry."
We watch as Ahsoka floats a rock to Grogu and he happily catches it. "Now return the stone to me Grogu."
"He doesn't understand," Din says, still fretting.
"He does," Ahsoka and I both say and I tell Grogu. "It's okay, you can give her the stone, it's safe. Just like what you were doing with Uncle Luke."
He still whines a little and drops the stone, Din sighs like a dad watching his child being assessed at school and I give him a look to stop freaking out since it's only putting pressure on the kid.
Ahsoka tells Din "He's hidden his abilities to survive over the years as Kyra has, it will take some time for him to feel safe using them." She looks back at Grogu. "Let's try something else, come over here."
Din nods for Grogu to go but he doesn't move. "He's stubborn."
"Not him," Ahsoka says to Din. "You. I want to see if he'll listen to you."
I nod to Din to do what she says and he agrees but not without comment. "That would be a first."
"I like firsts," Ahsoka remarks. "Good or bad they're always memorable."
I watch in amusement as Din tries to get Grogu to take the stone and gets frustrated when he doesn't, throwing the stone aside. "See, I told you he was stubborn."
"Give him the ball," I tell Din, looking at his pocket. "You know how much he loves that ball."
Din sighs and pulls it out, holding it between his fingers. "Alright kid, one more time, take the ball. Come on, you can have it."
I'm smiling as Grogu uses the force to take the ball and Din erupts in celebration. "Good job! Good job kid!" Din walks over to Grogu, bending down in front of him. "That's right, I knew you could do it. Very good."
"He's formed a strong attachment to you," Ahsoka notes, although the emotions with that are hard to read. "To both of you. He sees you as his parents."
"We are," I say proudly. "I was raised by a Jedi and a Mandalorian. I don't see any reason why he can't be as well."
"Remember Kyra, you are the exception, not the rule," she warns and my body stiffens, having not been reprimanded for such a thing since Yoda. "I know better than anyone what attachment can do to a Jedi."
My voice is harsh. "Not anyone. I would know having been the victim of it too many times," I tell her and she feels it, the sharp pain those memories of loss and torture bring but I stand my ground. "But that is only when you let that attachment turn to fear, possession, anger. My parents loved me dearly, and I loved them. Yes losing them drove me half mad but not to the darkness, my father raised me better than that."
"He raised Anakin better than that as well," Ahsoka reminds me and I become defensive. "But look what love did to him. You have fought many battles but you are still young, do not think yourself and the child immune to it."
"Yes, love can be a cruel thing," I say knowing it well. "The closest I ever danced with the dark side was because of love and I left him for dead." I can't look at Din but Ahsoka can feel it, the anger of my mothers side buried within me. "But that was many years ago, I know where I stand with the force, the darkness does not tempt me and we will raise Grogu how my father and mother raised me."
"Then I wish you well," she decides, knowing this is a battle she cannot win. "But I cannot help you if this is the path you wish to take."
"What?" Din exclaims. "Why not?"
Ahsoka looks at me. "She knows why."
And so I speak up and remind him. "It is common Jedi belief that attachment is forbidden, any sort of love, familial, platonic or otherwise." There's a bite in my voice as I remember what Bo-Katan told me, the reason I came to Ahsoka. "But considering you turned your back on the Jedi Order I thought you would know better than that."
"And this is what I mean," she says approaching me. "There is anger in you, and fear in Grogu. And that fear can lead to-"
"Lead to what?" I ask her, that anger certainly surfacing. "He's a child, what can he do? There are no Sith for him to join, there's no Palpatine, just bad men who want to harvest his midichlorians for some sick experiment!" Din starts to step between us but I swat him away. "I came here because I thought you would know that the code isn't always right."
She crosses her arms over her chest "I do know that."
"I thought you would help us while leaving me to raise him and train him because I've trained both children of Anakin Skywalker, the two people who had every reason to turn to the darkside, and they turned out great!" My next words are crueller than I intend. "You didn't, you never even came looking for any of us once so don't lecture me on the darkside when I am trying to protect Grogu and Leia's son from it and you are just sitting here hiding like all the rest!"
She just nods, not wanting to fight with me and turns her back on us, walking away. "This was a mistake, you should leave and I should get back to the village."
I'm willing to let her but it's Din who calls out "The magistrate sent me to kill you." She stills and looks back at us. "I didn't agree to anything, and I'll help you with your problem if you just help us protect Grogu."
I avert my gaze, leaving this mess to Din and she agrees while I take Grogu and walk away, hearing Din giving her the briefing on the situation but I keep going until I can no longer hear them and hold Grogu in my arms.
"I won't fail you," I promise him. "Not like all the others did. My father, he taught me better than that."
I look at him, unable to believe this child could ever become what Vader did and kiss his little head as I hold him close, standing there like that until Din finds me.
"Are you ready to kill the magistrate?"
I give a single nod and ask "What's the plan?"
~
And so I play the bait, running in supposed fear to the city, putting on my best act.
"The Jedi! The Jedi's here!"
They let me in, sobbing with fake tears.
"Where is the Jedi!"
"Out there!" I gasp out and beg "Please let me see the magistrate, my husband- he's dead!"
They guide me through the town, bringing me straight to the magistrate while Ahsoka and Din wait to attack inside the city walls.
"Magistrate, the Mandalorian's wife."
They bring me in and leave me with her, just a few guards with us and I know this will be easy.
"Did she kill your husband?" she asks, feigning empathy.
"She told me something," I begin, my veil covering my face. "That you worked with the Empire to destroy and pillage worlds."
She stiffens. "Did she now?"
"My own world, was destroyed and pillaged by the Empire for its beskar." I pull back my veil and show my face to her. "Funny that you have the spoils of Mandalore's destruction right there in your hand, and a Jedi standing right in front of you."
She holds the spear tight, knowing who I am. "Kyra Kryze."
I ignite my saber and ask her "Tell me, do you still work with Moff Gideon?" She doesn't answer and I just laugh. "Oh it is funny, because while he's been trying to hunt us down here we are, and it only seems fair I leave him a little message."
Now she seems amused. "You're going to kill me?" It's then we hear the shooting start in the city and her eyes widen in realisation. "The Jedi and the Mandalorian-"
"The Jedi are the ancient enemy of Mandalore but it seems I'm both," I tell her, knowing she isn't walking out of here alive as the guards raise their blasters. "Fire away."
The blasters ring out only for me to deflect them right back at the guards, each of them falling to the ground. And that's when the duel begins.
And perhaps it is wrong the anger I channel with each swing, the grief with each manoeuvre, everything a Jedi should never do. But in its strength is my discipline with those emotions, wielding them as I wield the force, never letting it lose control, but using it with discipline and finally with releasing them when the Magistrate falls and I leave her breathing for Ahsoka to get whatever information she may need but she will never rise again.
And so as I emerge and lay eyes on Din and Ahsoka I raise the beskar spear.
Victorious.
~
As dawn rises we stand outside the city walls, listening to the celebration within. Din having reluctantly accepted the Beskar Spear as it will be of more use to him than me.
"I suppose you'll be leaving now," Ahsoka says and can feel the weight on her shoulders.
"We will be," I say, not prepared to leave yet. "We won't be safe however until Moff Gideon is dead."
"Perhaps there is something I can do to help you," she says and tells us. "Take Grogu to the planet Tython, there you will find the ancient ruins of a temple that has a strong connection to the force. Place Grogu on the seeing stop on the top of the mountain and from there you can gain a deeper understanding of him, and how to best raise him with the path he wishes to take."
I nod in respect. "Thank you Ahsoka." I'm about to leave but turn back to her. "Luke and Leia would like to meet you, to learn from someone who knew who their father was before Vader."
She's conflicted, but nods. "I will see what I can do." She steps forward and slowly raises a hand to my face and tells me "You look so much like him." She gives me a sad smile. "You have so much of his heart as well." Out of the corner I see Din taking Grogu to the ship and Ahsoka leans in to tell me. "Your father, he would like him."
I smile to myself. "He would."
Something in her softens as she says "And he would be proud of you, proud of the path you are taking."
I nod, suddenly emotional. "Thank you, Ahsoka."
I look forward towards the Razor Crest, to where Din stands waiting and holding Grogu in his arm, and know he would be.
But before I can leave she stops me "Wait." I look back and feel the pain before I see it as she asks "How did Vader really die?"
I stood there on the platform, the Emperor dead by Vaders hands. Luke knelt before his father, but all I could see when I looked at the man before me was Vader, not Anakin Skywalker.
"Luke, help me take this mask off."
Luke saw none of Vader, only his father.
"But you'll die."
"Nothing can stop that now."
It was then Vader looked at me, the daughter of his brother who he'd broken time and time again, who had taken her parents and home from her, who stood there to see his demise.
"When I see your father," he began, dying. "I'll beg his forgiveness for the things I have done."
It was not my fathers he would have to beg for.
"You'll be begging for mine and your daughters forgiveness until there is nothing but star dust left in galaxy."
And so I left Luke to mourn his father alone, for I had no forgiveness to give.
"He killed the Emperor," I tell her and watch her eyes widen. "But not without all but killing himself trying. Luke and I, we were there." I could tell her all the awful things he had done, to me, to Luke, to Leia, but instead I tell her as my father would have wanted. "He turned to the light before he died."
And yet those words only put her in further pain for she knows all he did and despite it all I don't know if she can truly forgive him either but when she meets Luke and Leia, she'll know he left some good in the galaxy.
But she is still a Jedi and looks upon me as she says "I am sorry for everything he took from you." She then treads carefully "I know the things Bo-Katan said to you after the purge, but she is the only family you have. Believe that when you have need of her, she will come."
I give a stiff nod and tell her "Just please, go to Luke and Leia. You will find him on Ossus. Luke has forgiven his father, but I dare say Anakin will have to beg for Leia's forgiveness until she joins him on the other side but... perhaps you could help her find peace."
She gives me a nod and says "I will try." She debates her next words. "The Magistrate, she worked with Grand Admiral Thrawn, it's why I came here."
I blink at her. "Thrawn disappeared years ago with..."
"Ezra Bridger," she finishes. "You were the same age as him yes?"
I give a stiff nod. "I had only met him along with Kana a handful of times during my work in the early years of the Rebellion but Sabine was my second in charge during the war so I've heard many stories."
"Then we may just call on you," she tells me and extends her hand to me. "May the force be with you Kyra Kenobi."
"And with you," I say and leave her to return to Din and Grogu, knowing now where our next destination is and yet... I feel a pit in my stomach at the thought of what may come.

gonna put my random liveblog reactions for Ahsoka Ep 1 here
okay so the rebels fam are literally some of my favorite star wars characters i've loved and missed them since 2018 and if anything this show will give me them
i am going with zero expectations except a plea, a plea to just not make me hate it lmao idc what happens just let me have fun

former jedi knight? HMMMM
why is it always a secret map
also appreciating the OG "let's open up on big ass ship in space" makes you feel small
ok have i heard this new republic(?) captain actor before he seems familiar
bitch literally anyone could have an old jedi clearance code clearance codes were passed around like
yeah he doesn't trust it either
but i feel like he's actually dickish and we're not supposed to like him so
ah yes rebel soldiers and their stupid-ass egg helmets
wait old white bearded guy you ain't obi wan you AIN'T a jedi
his voice sounds familiar too
i have such face blindness lmao

what am i saying she's anakin and obi wan's spawn she LIKES this shit
oh hey she made something happen
i feel like all of these pillars should have been turned at once
the force likes teamwork and that kinda thing
but it also kinda echoes maul and ezra's little teamwork exercise lifting those walls in the sith temple that one time

ok yes but ezra is a jedi show pretty please for me don't go there with sabine
ok ok that's enough complaining from me lmao
ACTUALLY NO WAIT ONE MORE *inhales*
i would prefer sabine and ezra to stay platonic friends. no hate to shippers but i just personally would like them to be friends/siblings, that's what would make me happiest because i like to imagine sabine as a lesbian and also their dynamic as friends/siblings just makes me happy
but shippers are of course still welcome here and if they do become a couple i won't begrudge you your fun :')
ok ok ok ok ok NOW i'm done lmao

wait wait wait does MORGAN have gold eyes?
ooooooo
oh no wait darkside apprentice has gold eyes again
ugh okay so we ARE getting force sensitive sabine then

COME ON
ahsoka ur being emo so hera is allowed to make a dig at anakin
hera you're trying your best girl lmao
it's always rule of three it seems
kinda gives me that mortis trinity vibe
this reminds me of the time i got one of those 3D puzzles from barnes and noble and i was supposed to take it apart and put it back together and failed utterly
ope she did it!
again if someone even TOUCHES that fucking cat wrong i go full john wick
bitch NO SHOOTING NEAR THE CAT
ope they smashed the map
ahsoka my dude i'm guessing you know where sabine lives why didn't u just go find her lmao
wait does sabine have ezra's green lightsaber i can't tell from the hilt because i'm shit at recognizing hilts
i can't even appreciate the duel because i am admittedly pouting but they are both very pretty at least

and process this sabine thing
like if i cannot find a way to come to fucking terms with it i will not be able to enjoy this series
ik ik that sounds dramatic i'm just
hmm ok five minutes

Ahsoka ep 6
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." - I fucking squeaked. And this, this just further reinforces the fact Dave Filoni KNOWS the importance of Star Wars. I wonder if David Tennant completely geeked out when he delivered those lines.
I love the Great Mothers - CLAUDIA BLACK!! I can recognise her and her voice any time & anywhere. Fuck yeah. But just the visuals of them & Elspeth, Baylan & Shin, Thrawn AND Sabine all standing together!!! OMFG. I geeked out so hard.
Baylan & Shin are so fucking fascinating. They are not Jedi nor are they Sith, they are Force users with training, and I'm so curious what Baylan will find, and what path Shin will choose.
Sabine & her singular focus. I fucking love her. I love that she chose Ezra. And OMFG! A GROWN UP EZRA WITH HIS LONG CURLS & BEARD. HE IS SO HOT. But also like the actor's sound so very similar to the animated version of him. What amazing fucking casting. I cannot wait when Sabine tells Ezra what she did so the two of them can just have it out - shout at each, get mad, clear the fucking air.
I'm also super curious about who the threat in this galaxy is. I'm still sort of set on a new version of Yuuzhan Vong (purely MY own speculation, NO actual evidence) ahahaha. But we shall see. And can I just say Thrawn is fucking awesome, and his army with their modded/fixer-upper armour, ship and the the golden face mask is very very Roman-esque. They are also incredibly disciplined.
Everyone is a person of their word... AND ONLY to their word and not one thing beyond. I'm just so fucking curious! CAN'T wait till next week. Gods, will we see Ezra fight with a lightsaber?!?!?
ETA: The Howler was fricking ADORABLE. LOLs.
