I’ve been wanting to restrain going off about Kikaider because it’s not really that bad of a show-it has nothing horribly offensive or gross in it and it does have good qualities even if for that very reason it makes me more disappointed it turned out the way it did for me-and I know I have a few followers who seemingly like it but MAN after finishing all of the anime content and going through the cycle of “this is okay” “this sucks” “this exists” I can’t help to wonder why the anime was produced the way it was.
I don’t understand why they had a budget for 3 separate shows that came out essentially a year apart from each other that are still connected and with each one gets a improvement in animation instead of just pouring the budget into one full length show that probably would’ve looked decent. Like how was there only funds for Kikaider to get a 13 ep tv show but enough they could do two ovas? Was there seriously not enough money or investment to just make it a 20+ ep show when it desperately needed to be longer to fit and rectify all the content in the manga? Or was the first show and 01 just split up because of a new cast despite sharing the same storyline in the manga? And also why produce the crossover with Inazuman-or however tf it’s spelled-despite not making a anime for that?
The production decisions with this show confuses the shit out of me because length is generally the reason why i didn’t see as good even if the first show is at least decent and enjoyable, because even if they were doing this out of passion and respect for the author I feel there could’ve been SOME way around this.

Thinking about Post-TEC Jon and Evil Tim again.
Perhaps a potential motive on Tim’s account for ‘joining forces’ (taking over Fission Chips) beyond simply wanting a company of his own is using their communications infrastructure (particularly the data tucked away on the criminal underworld’ side) to hunt down ever-elusive Britva once and for all. To take what he’s owed in paid pain, and get rid of what’s been a ghostly thorn in his side for far too long.
(And, perhaps, he uses such as persuasion for Butler to join in on the evil enterprise? The Major deserves to be avenged, certainly…)
In kind, of course, he’s more than happy to put his might behind taking Valentine out, too. Jon has a company and resources alike with Phonetix’s own, but no more access (and very little will) to use them after his fall in the public eye. Between he and Valentine, it’s never been a fair fight regardless. But who needs a fair fight when one has a Butler at their command?
All in due time, of course- first, they must go to Russia.

Since you guys enjoyed our collaborative effort, SONGS TO KICK SOMEONE’S ASS TO, I thought I’d share my current playlist in progress, Female Fronted Metal. I’m going back and reliving my little tomboy goth metalhead high school days and re-listening to After Forever, Delain, Epica, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, and Within Temptation (and in some cases, this is new listening; I lost track of Epica and WT after about 2012-ish) and adding my favorite tracks into one playlist. Check it out if you’re into any of these bands. Next on the docket is Delain’s Dark Waters (curious to see how they’re doing without Charlotte) Epica’s The Holographic Principal, Lacuna Coil’s Dark Adrenaline, Nightwish’s Dark Passion Play (which was my all time favorite album for about a decade) and Within Temptation’s Resist.
