Hello and happy first day of May!  I can hardly believe it’s already May.  Summer will be here before you know it! 🎉☀  Last month I decided to take a break from planned TBRs, because for the past few months, they haven’t been going well, lol.  Well, I read even less last month, so I’ve decided to give them another try.  I’m really hopeful that May will be a great reading month. 🙂
So, let’s get started!
First, I’m super excited to read Own Your Everyday by Jordan Lee Dooley!  I’ve been following her on Instagram for quite a while now, and I just love her.  I was super excited to have received an ARC of her first book and be a part of her launch team!  This book comes out May 14th, and I hope to have this one read by then as well.
Click here to find out more about the book and pre-order!

Next up, I want to read Christy and Todd: The College Years and Becoming Us by Robin Jones Gunn!  I love the Christy Miller series, so I’m super excited to read about Christy’s college experience as well as check in on her later in life in Becoming Us.  Becoming Us comes out May 7th, and I’d hopefully like to have both of these books read by then, but we’ll see!
Click here to find out more about Becoming Us and to pre-order!

This month I also hope to get to Ringer by Lauren Oliver, Where the Fire Falls by Karen Barnett, Imposters by Scott Westerfeld, and The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon.  I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about all of these books and they have all been on my TBR since basically they were first released!
And lastly, I’m also planning to read I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella as the May pick for the Book Lovers Book Club!
As you can see, for me, this is pretty ambitious.  I’ve got a good feeling about this month, though, so hopefully I can read all or at least most of these!
What’s on your May TBR?
Thanks for reading!

I first discovered six time Juno Award winner Serena Ryder a couple of years ago when I heard a live concert broadcast on CBC radio. I liked it. She had a different sound than a lot of newer artists. When she was booked to play Kingston a short time after, I bought tickets to attend. I have been a Serena Ryder fan since that night. I was amazed by her powerful voice and her five-octave range. She did not disappoint on Friday night at Ottawa Jazz Festival. It was another stellar performance by the Millbrook, Ontario native.

Serena got the show started with her smash hit “Stompa”, from the album, Harmony. The crowd was singing along with her throughout the evening and even dancing to her newest single  “I’ve Got Your Number”. During the middle part of the concert, the band took a break while Serena entertained with some acoustic songs, interacting with the crowd all the while. When a fan called out one of their favorites, Serena didn’t hesitate to change guitars and oblige the fan.

During the evening, we heard some of the new songs from Utopia, such as “Got Your Number” and “Electric Love”, as well as many of the songs we have come to know Serena for such as “Heavy Love”, “Baby Come Back”, “Oh What I Wouldn’t Do”, “Mary Go Round” and “Weak In The Knees”.

If you have yet to experience Serena Ryder live, do yourself a big favour and go when you get the chance. Her energy, showmanship, unique voice and songwriting ability, combined with a great band, make her one of the best artists to experience live. She is a favourite of mine to be sure.

Your emails are like one big cry.’Kiss, kiss, hug, hug, please like me,please like me!’ – Sam Roxton
Okay, the books are laying on the rack for very long time until I started to pick up one book titled Remember me? by Sophie Kinsella.Since then, I ‘m hooked. It hilarious  and touching at the same time.I don’t read too much overload romantic book and this  book is none of those.
Then I found another book by the same author,’I’ve Got Your Number. ‘
Damn,I was reading this non stop until I finished at 1am and I got meeting at 7am.This is good book, light romantic, comedy. It made me laugh. Plus personally,I think I learned something especially in self-development. =D
But I feel weird on the email in phone because we can just access email through different phone or computer instead of depending on that phone.
Because my English not so good,I am not really understand at this part, page 290.
“But there is no fiancée, feminine. ”
It make me google fiancee, fiancée but could not find the answer.Anyone can explain it to me?

Summer Reading in August + Goodreads Link Up!
What I read for the month of August is coming at ya a little early this month because… we’re doing a Goodreads Link Up! I’m not sure if you’re as obsessed with stalkingseeing what other people are reading as I am, but Goodreads is SO awesome for it. It’s also why my To Be Read list is seriously humongous. We’re talking 1k+ books at least. But what I’m getting at here is go copy and paste your…

An Evening with Tom Wopat at The Curtis Theatre in Brea
An Evening with Tom Wopat at The Curtis Theatre in Brea
The Tony Award nominee and star of the hit TV show of the ’80s “The Dukes of Hazzard” Tom Wopat crooned the audience last April 19 at The Curtis Theatrein Brea. After 30 years, Wopat still looked great and his voice still sounded smooth and rich. He started with the song “I’ve Got Your Number” which is the title of his latest CD, followed by “The Good Life.”  Wopat effortlessly rendered his…

Sophie Kinsella: I've got your number!
I never usually do this kind of post. Mostly because the kind of books that I’ve had to read over the past three years have been ones that have made me reach for the noose when I’d run out of razors. Okay slight exaggeration but you try reading 500 pages…
