Maybe. (I will never leave the DSMP fans, and this entire account will be a DSMP loving one) but still...

'The Amazing Digital Circus' looking kinda interesting! :)

I hope its more on the normal side of fandoms, (lol that coming from a dsmp fan, who do i think i am?!) sure there will alwase be the : "I can fix them" "Hear me out" "I know they need to be put in a mental hospital but..." "why they kinda..." fans, but I hope the entire fanbase isnt just simping over one character and taking it to a weird level.

I would love it to be more of a: "guys i think i solved this part of the lore" "I HAVE A THEORY THAT MAKES SENSE!" "This characters design so so cute though" "*character* is so silly! I love them" "underrated character check!" "okay i need you to hear me out on this theory..." Fanbase, you know?

Anyway, i will look more into it. ((Dont worry anyone that follows me for dsmp content, it will stay! Im doing my best to keep it alive (not only on this site :D ) )

the dream smp was most certainly not made to become this huge piece of media that it is today. however i find it really cool how nuanced it is.

i went to check out the mha tag the other day cause i wanted to see what people said about the leak for the newest chapter. and wow lemme tell you there is no nuance or conversation. people were practically blaming the main character for having realistic outbursts of aggression because of his trauma when normally hes a very caring protagonist type.

now our fandom definitely has issues with discussions like this, but for the most part people can agree that like with tommy, this is normal and okay and it happens when people are subjected to trauma. it can be ugly but its natural. people really do love to switch up on their defense of a character when they no longer act submissive and downtrodden due to their trauma.

anyway other fandoms ive seen really dont have the analysis of characters, dynamics, and relationships the way we do and trust me, ive been in many fandoms. no nuanced debates or thoughts about people's characters, not the way we have it and thats why im so fixated on dsmp. the dream smp is just straight up an incredible story made up of so many different, actively developing stories. the way that the media is delivered is also really cool in a meta way, as in how everything is reacted to live or viewers can literally be included in a characters monologue to themselves.

plus twitch never used to be how it is now. twitch used to have way less poc and lgbtq+ people on the platform. i think its really cool how the introduction of all these young people from the dsmp changed it. the dsmp fans are called "minecrafters" or "crafters" in a sort of derogatory but also light hearted way by the rest of twitch. i dunno, the creation of this media and its fandom is genuinely very interesting to me. its Literally nothing like any other fandom i can think of; of course theres similarities but its genuinely so unique.

there are many issues with the community of course but also one of the most welcoming and lgbtq+ friendly fandoms. with support not just from other people in the fandom but from the creators themselves which is very weird to me /pos. ive made lots of friends in this community and i just wanna say yeah enjoy yourself :] this is a really cool fandom and i promise if youre new youll have a lotta fun. just dont be weird, dont spam unless its bttv, make art if you wanna (im sure itll look amazing) and literally just enjoy the experience.

this is the type of thing that youll look back on and just enjoy the memories. due to the nature of twitch, vods get deleted after two months so literally just have fun and be in the moment. also if that makes you anxious dont worry most of them are uploaded to youtube by fans or the creators themselves. so yeah!! this was an analysis and almost introduction to the fandom klsdjlak :] be kind to each other

not to be parasocial but holy fuck do some of the dsmp members. worry me sometimes. like dreams habit of pushing himself and getting into drama over and over even as he's admitted that he went cold turkey on medication, tommy admitting that the stress of being a young streamer and having twitter always be on his ass is why he goes to therapy, wilbur and tommy talking about tubbo randomly bursting into tears and shouting at them when they tried to check up on him, ranboo saying that he isnt doing good mentally because he keeps going through a cycle of looking for criticism of him and his content (and it doesnt help that its been ramping up recently), and probably other problems i dont know of from various streamers i dont always watch and just

yeah many of them are privileged and some have a fuck ton of money or whatever but theyre also all people who, if this stuff doesnt work out, theyll likely plummet. and as they get more popular, it gets more and more acceptable to hate on them and even just openly say shitty things about them, constantly express disappointment with what they do even when they arent doing anything wrong (the constant assertion that ranboo's lore is boring and hasnt picked up, the consistent crit of technoblade's tone, assertion that there needs to be more lore overshadowing the people who *do* lore, even just little comments about how dumb any of them are)

and in the end its all.. worrying. how many untagged comments do they see? how many times do they manage to catch that one asshole in chat that tells them they're not good enough? any number of them could be dealing with terrible shit irl, or have something going on that we dont know about. and even if they didn't, it's. fucked up how normal it is to see someone just straight up be mean as hell or passive aggressive or whatever just because they think they won't be seen. philza's the only one over 30. being in their mid-twenties is an outlier. so many of these ccs are 16-25 and that's,, young. that's really really young to be in constant spotlight, in the news, hated by the masses, often for mistakes or things they didn't understand the harshness of (and of course, there's many times where they do understand and don't care, but that's rare)

i really do hope they're all okay. or at least that they're going to be okay. as much as i mess around i really would be okay if they took long ass breaks like wilbur and tommy or if they even just slow down in general like ranboo's planning to do. because god do i hope they'll be able to take that time to just, take care of themselves. it's got to be fuckin hard having thousands of eyes on you, hell, million of eyes on you. a lot hate you. even your fans think it's okay to just be fucking gross and pissy to/about you just because there's a chance you won't see them. it's already been seen how it effected the music industry, actors and actresses, professionals in all kinds of media. and these people are just. streamers who play minecraft for a living. fucking sucks man, i really hope they'll all be okay, that they're supporting each other and talking it out, it sucks to be in the spotlight
