thoughts on the fionna and cake ending
-it was a bit boring. ok not Boring just, not on the same level as all the other eps? especially not on the same level as the previous two (the star+jerry). like it was more of a Cake the Cat ep. it was fine just not world shattering and thats fine ig
-that being said the casper&nova scenes were sooooo boring i couldnt care less. it kinda made me feel like they wanted to show shermy and beth but didnt know how so they just made up whatever??? it wouldve been cool to see more of future Ooo instead of. whatever that was. they couldve made the parallel to simon and betty some other way. or even if they absolutely Needed to show thay weird video game they couldve made it like one scene and shorter lol. tho the detail of it had being astrid that started the story was cute
-i actually liked the resolution to betty and simons relationship. again they couldve shown More of it instead of it just having like, one scene, but i liked how they did it. getting them back together in a fairytail Everything Works Out And Theyre Happy Ever After!!!! wouldve completely taken away from how tragic their entire story is, but making something even worse happen wouldve just made simon feel worse and his character development wouldnt.... exist much lol. having simon come to terms with it, SEND HIM TO THERAPY THANK FUCK and try to move on w his life is exactly what i was hoping for
and i looooove how they portrayed their relationship. ive seen ppl be mad ab it but like didnt yall like that is was codependent and insane and they were obsessed w each other to the point theyd destroy their life for one another? OBVIOUSLY its going to be unhealthy. thats not saying simon is a bad person, or that they didnt love each other. they obviously did. simon loved betty more than anything. but he was selfish. unintentionally, yeah, he didnt realize how dependent/obsessed she was with him and that she just went along with anything he did which i dont feel its his fault, but it still happened, and it still affected her, it made her get deeper into that. its a new spin on their relationship that feels really real and i really like that. yeah turns out that when ppl are so obsessed w someone that they go insane and almost destroy the world twice thats probably indicative thay theres something wrong there who wouldve thought!!!!
adventure time is The "people have flaws" show (bonnie, marcy, finn, jake, etc etc all the characters are shown to be selfish sometimes snd to varying degrees! and theyre all still good people! theyre still just people) so it feels a bit insane to see ppl acting like the show saying "simon too btw" means theyre portraying him as irredemably bad
-i didnt want the fionna world to completely change and go back to bein magic but i was at least hoping the characters world :( like a "modern with magic" situation it wouldve been cool. and the farm/baby/vampworld characters coming in felt a bit random but like eh sure whatever
-IM SO PISSED FIONNA DIDNT LOSE HER ARM
-i dont think the lack of resolution in all the universes we visited was a bad thing? like i dont even feel like its "lack or resolution" i just felt like. thats how the stories were meant to be told. we come into a world that has nothing to do with us and then we leave them behind, yk? its not our world so we just pass by and dont know how it ends. leave it up to imagination. i thought it was cool we dont need to know Everything
-we shouldve seen marcy and simon interacting when he got back. even if it was just like a interaction without dialogue in some sort of epilogue sequence theyre so incredibly important to each others story and the show even made sure to show us that and we get nothing????? the lack of a scene where he talks to her about how hes feeling and how he almost put on the crown again felt so!! FRUSTATING. the scene in ep two where he calls her even felt like it was setting up for a scene like that! im so mad we got nothing. like i understand the adventure time market is flooded with marceline so maybe they didnt want to focus on her much but still theyre too linked for that relationship to get completely ignored in the Last Fucking Episode of the show
-the implication of fern/phoebe made me pause the episode and stare at a wall for a moment. auaugh.
-SO NO MARSHALL SONG?? *THROWS LAPTOP AT A WALL*
-WHY DID THEY DO NOTHING WITH FIONNA AND CAKE GLITCHING STUFF????? WHY EVEN SET THAT UP IF IT GOES NOWHERE UGHH
-im glad they finally made the lich a bit more interesting instead of Ooh spooky guy is evil
-simon getting therapy from minervabot was awesome 10/10
-once again saying im mad they let fionna keep both her arms. BOOOOOOO 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

that one line in lone trail
hello welcome to "she promised she was gonna go tl some fic but then got sidetracked thinking about lonetrail again and is now here" I want to go ahead and do a more comprehensive post talking about the three's relationship in detail with what happened in lone trail but uhh
Tumblr media
I don't have that kind of time to reread it because I forgot which stories contain the parts that I need lol. So without further ado, lets spoil CW-ST-4
The title is "Pushing open future's door" and serves as the epilogue of lonetrail. Unlike most events, lonetrail actually has two post mission stories! CW-ST-3 is unlocked after CW-10 so you know this event is insanely long (iirc this is around the same character count as chapter 8, which is insane. This event is gonna be a monster to read through when it comes to global, I look forward to seeing what translation decisions they make so I have stuff to talk about haha). Also we get to see a hint at a professional relationship between Nastja(no I am not calling her nasti/nasty, I'm fairly certain they were going with a Russian name and Nastja was the closest)
Most of this epilogue is centered around Kirsten, now alone having won in her ideals and preparing to go to sleep. It's a very touching moment where her electronic system goes through her entire ship shutting off each room one by one, until she is left in her room where she is going to hibernate, given a couple minutes before that room will activate she records a log.
Tumblr media
It's relatively simple, probably the most direct we will get from her talking about her philosophy and thoughts on society, wanting people to understand themselves, others, society, and where they are in the universe in order to determine how they should move on.
In the last minute she goes a bit more personal which is really what I care about. She comments on how the plants are still alive to her surprise, and laments being unable to give Muelsyse the data on them. It's a nice touch! She stayed with control, helping her the entire way, and it's clear that Kirsten means a lot to Muelsyse too given how close they were in the past between all three of them.
The very last things she says are directly to Saria.
Tumblr media
In Kirsten's whole life, there were only two times where she felt truly alive. The first time, Saria, was when I took you back home, and on that hill I told you the start of everything. The second time, is now, when I have completed my parent's dreams. The seeds of what happens next, is only the beginning. On a clear night, find an open field and set up a telescope, there will be a star in the sky twinkling for you.
Tumblr media
Then, goodnight, the sirs and madams of Terra.
Tumblr media
goodnight, universe.
yeah just stab me will ya. I don't think there is any really other way to read this other than a goodbye letter to Saria, one that she will tragically never really get to hear (I think?). The long relationship they shared, the last line about the star twinkling for her is just so strong of an indication of just how deep they were intertwined together.
Actually, lets spoil CW-10 end too, just to see how even after Saria left Kirsten knew she could rely on Saria in the ways that it counted:
Tumblr media
Saria... You always wanted me to take a good, clear look at this vast land. I saw it. It is also...very beautiful. You will take care of it and nurture it's people in my stead. I always knew this. Same as before, same as always. As for me... I was not really the type to lead people forward step by step. I was just a pair of eyes. A pair... to look up at the deep space in place of the people of these lands
It's probably the only way she knew how to move forward into the future, especially after she met Friston and had those conversations. Funnily enough after seeing the same kind of behaviour in some of the tech circles I am in... This kind of "I don't think I'm suited for leadership yet here I am" problem is real, and quite prevalent amongst the science types who just want to do their thing unfortunately. It's shocking almost how well this trope was written for Kirsten though I feel like I'm staring at a picture of some people I know of irl who are in the same situation.
Kills me how close Kirsten puts those in her heart yet keeps them pretty far away at the same time tbh

The Writing's On The Wall - Epilogue
Summary: She's a demon, he's a hunter. Their fates intertwined after a chance encounter. Can Nesta and Cassian overcome all odds to be together? Ancient Chinese wuxia AU setting/Inspired by the Legend of the White Snake. A/N: I did a slight re-write of the ending scene for Chapter 5. Do give it a read before starting the epilogue.
Read: AO3 | Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5
Tumblr media
Chapter 6: 有缘千年再相会 (with fate, we meet again after a thousand years)
Modern Day
The sun hung high in the sky, beating down sweltering heat on the bustling city of Hangzhou. The glittering skyscrapers contrasted against the serenity of the West Lake and sprawling forest.
Cassian ducked into the well air-conditioned Visitor's Centre to escape the heat, sighing in relief as the cool air blasted in his face.
"Welcome to the West Lake!" A perky young woman, obviously a part-timer going by her cheeriness, greeted him and stretched out an arm to him, "Brochure?"
He waved her off, "Oh, I'm just looking around." He paused as he looked at the displays which were littered all over the centre, flashing her an easy going smile, "Any recommendations? I'm new to the city."
The lady gave him a broad smile, excited at the prospect to share, "The West Lake is well known for its architecture and natural wonders. Of course, our most iconic pagoda has to be the Leifeng pagoda, an absolutely stunning vision during dusk" she gestured at a poster of the mentioned landmark, "but if you have a little more time for a short hike, the nine streams of the misty forest is definitely a gorgeous scenery you cannot miss."
She prattled on, moving on to the other attractions the lake had to offer, unaware that she had lost Cassian's attention. The image of the glowing tower drew him in like a moth to a flame and commandeered his focus. He took in the bronze octagonal edges of the tower, zooming in on the entrance of the pagoda. Almost immediately, a deep sense of yearning and sorrow spiralled through him and he lurched over, feeling like he had the air knocked out of him.
Feeling the weighted gaze of concern of the Visitor’s Centre employee on him, he quickly feigned a coughing fit and laughingly dismissed her concerns, “Think my saliva went down the wrong pathway.” He rubbed his chest slightly, “Do you think you could point me in the direction of the Leifeng pagoda?”
She beamed at him and sent him away with more brochures.
The pagoda is most famously associated with the tragic love story of the White Snake and her mortal lover. It is said that the White Snake and the Green Snake, demons named Bai Suzhen and Xiao Qing took the forms of beautiful ladies and were visiting West Lake one day. Bai Suzhen fell in love with a human scholar, Xu Xian, and they were soon married. However, an evil monk Fa Hai with deep prejudices against the supernatural beings sought to separate them. In the ensuing battle, Bai Suzhen flooded Jinshan temple, where Fa Hai lived, and was eternally imprisoned under the Leifeng Pagoda.
Hot tears pricked at Cassian’s eyes as he read the legend from the murals that decorated the exhibition in the pagoda, the ache in his chest deepening. He ran his hands up and down his face, inhaling deeply as he did so. He thought coming to the building itself would drive away the yearning within him but it only amplified it.
Shaking his head, he quickly left the building. He scowled at the oppressive heat, eyes squinting in the bright sunlight that reflected off the light concrete pavements. Voices assaulted his mind as the light shone into his eyes, blinding him for a moment.
Bury me here, Gwyn. So that I remain by her side forever.
I’m sorry, Nesta. I swear that I will find you in another life and we will finally have that time.
Cassian blinked furiously. What the fuck was that?
The ground beneath him shook violently, wiping any other thoughts cleanly from his mind.
An earthquake? Seriously?
Cassian glanced around furtively, mentally calculating how long it would take for him to leg it to the open area where he would be safe from falling structures. behind him, screams of panic and terror emitted from the pagoda exhibition as objects crashed to the ground
His leg muscles twitched in indecision.
"Ah fuck it!"
He was greeted by visitors crouched under the sturdy built-in counters. Cassian spun around and immediately spotted a small girl whose legs were trapped under a collapsed bookshelf, her tiny face scrunched up in pain and fear as fat tears leaked from her eyes. Her father was clutching tightly to his other young terrified toddler daughter as he struggled to free his injured child.
Cassian rushed towards him, lifting the heavy shelf a few inches off the ground and urged the family, "Go, go, go!"
The father pulled his daughter out and thanked him profusely, not noticing a large framed painting that was about to descend on him. Without hesitating, Cassian pushed the family out of the way. A sharp impact on his head was his last conscious thought as his arms buckled and sent him spiraling down.
***
His vision was filled with nothing but clouds. Then a woman of ethereal beauty with copper hair and bright teal eyes swam into view and he felt soft silk robes brush against him. He stared blankly at the cluster of freckles that pooled together on her button nose as she smiled warmly, “Hello, old friend, you finally did it. It’s about damn time too.”
What? What did I do? Cassian meant to ask but the words seemingly escaped him.
“The Heavens have decided to give both of you a fresh start. No memories to tie you down and a matching human lifespan. Make the full use of it, Cassian.” She bent over to kiss his cheek, “I’ll be here to greet the both of you on the other side.”
***
“Mister, mister. Wake up!” A young childish voice rattled in his ear as small hands shook his arm. “Wake up, please!”
Cassian snapped awake but found himself trapped by a flat weight which pinned him to the floor. He focused his brain on the immediate memories before he was knocked out and he had that strange dream. Leifeng Pagoda, earthquake, the young family. Right. At least the tremors had stopped.
He groaned as he pushed himself vertical and felt the weight slide off his back.
“Are you okay?” The father asked with palpable relief on his face as his daughters clung to either side, looking up at him with wide eyes.
Cassian was confident of the blooming bruises in his back but held back a grimace, offering a weak smile in return, “I’m okay. I’m just glad the tremors stopped.”
The Gods, Cassian thought at the moment as the earth beneath him shook once more, must have a strange sense of humour.
The quake turned increasingly strong and cracked the ground. The fissure slowly but surely stretched towards the ends of the pagoda. The blood rushed in his ears as Cassian roared, “EVERYBODY OUT!”
He swept the girl in his arms as he ushered the visitors out of the building. He himself narrowly escaped a certain death when the pagoda collapsed a short distance away from them and raised a mountain of dirt and dust around them.
Cassian felt his arms work mechanically to gently return the girl to her father as his mouth went dry. Because there she was in the settling cloud of dust.
The most beautiful woman Cassian had ever met in his life.
She was dressed in a simple white maxi dress and sneakers. Her hair was tied back into a loose braid. Her head snapped towards him as if she could also feel the thread that tied the both of them together. Blue grey eyes pierced into hazel as they both walked towards the other, unable to deny the pull in their chests.
Cassian raised a trembling hand when they stood inches apart and tucked a stray strand away, “Hi, I’m Cassian.”
She broke out into a smile, her eyes suspiciously bright, “Nesta.”
Their voices melted together as they said in unison, “Nice to meet you.”
A/N: Thank you so much for reading this! Writing this story is so personal to me as I love wuxia so much. I hope you have enjoyed reading the story as much as I have writing it. I have added the paragraph summarising the actual Legend of White Snake in there but if you're interested to know more, there are a number of media adaptations of the legend. Google also made a really cool microsite on it! If you noticed, the actual characters in the legend are Bai Suzhen (White Snake), Xu Xian (mortal human) and Xiao Qing (Green Snake). While the actual fic counterparts are Nesta, Cassian and Gwyn (although she's not a snake demon), I have referenced them in my fic as Suzie, Xian and Ivy as sort of names and facts that got lost in time. Just a fun easter egg in there. Once again, thank you so much for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts of the story. Or just feel free to say hi!:)

Fazbear Frights Ranking
Now that I've read all the Fazbear Frights stories (I'm super late, I know), I decided to briefly record my thoughts on them. (under the read more)
I don't care about ridiculous premises, because if you don't engage with them, you're not gonna like the story no matter what. I don't care about lore connections, and I especially don't care about epilogue connections. I also don't notice most pacing issues if I am interested in the characters. I don't care about gruesomeness as long as I find it engaging, and I love tragic stories.
When I made the tierlist (at the bottom), I consulted the wiki for the epilogue summaries, but I can't be bothered to do that for the ranking, so just assume if it's higher it's because of Jake, and if it's lower it's because of Eleanor.
36. "The Breaking Wheel" I didn't like any of the characters, and the pacing was too slow for me to be invested. Also what's with all these advanced science classes? Did I just miss out on a common public school thing in my private school?
35. "Prankster" Jeremiah sounds like a Nice Guy, and the ending was confusing. It's also hard to take things seriously when the protagonist thinks it's a prank (I still don't know if it is).
34. "Kids at Play" What is up with the signs following Joel around? That ending came out of nowhere. At least his internal conflict is kinda interesting.
33. "In the Flesh" Matt is so hateable it's entertaining, but the plot is too dull, and the ending is just gross and pointless.
32. "What We Found" This story started off really well, and I was really interested in Hudson, but all the hallucinations made the story difficult to follow. I couldn't tell if Springtrap actually did anything or not. The second half was just so disappointing.
31. "Sergio's Lucky Day" It was kinda neat to see how Sergio became increasingly reliant on Lucky Boy, even to his own detriment well before the ending, but I just didn't like it. I can't explain why.
30. "1:35 AM" I just felt sad for Delilah, but it was also frustrating how she wouldn't even explain to Harper exactly what was wrong. The ending was also underwhelming and made my claustrophobic ass uncomfortable in a bad way.
29. "Count the Ways" I don't understand why this one is so beloved. If not for the portions showing Millie's life before she climbed in Freddy, it would be much lower. I was just distracted the whole time wondering how big Funtime Freddy, who I have always perceived as one of the smaller Freddy models, would have to be to fit a 14 year old in his stomach with enough room for her to move at all. He was also incredibly irritating to listen to.
28. "The New Kid" I was so mad at Devon for involving poor, innocent Mick in his horrible shenanigans. The springlock scene was just so terrible, and the ending was so confusing? Apparently the corpse might be Andrew, but I find problems with this, especially since I don't know for sure if Jake was Eleanor or not. If he was, that's stupid, especially since Jake didn't act malicious at any point, only Devon did.
27. "Together Forever" I always mix up this title with "Alone Together." Most of this story is just stereotypical mean girl stuff, until the gore at the end. Everyone says Fazbear Frights are super gorey, but I didn't really notice most of it. This story though. This one actually made me sick (literally not figuratively), but the last paragraph is really good.
26. "Hide-and-Seek" I could not visualize the game. If it's as big as it sounds, why is it in a pizzeria? As someone with a lot of siblings, I could relate to the competitiveness between Toby and Connor, and the ending was a pretty good message against relapsing into harmful behaviors (at least that how I interpreted it). The majority of the story was too slow for me to be invested when I didn't care much about Toby though.
25. "To Be Beautiful" Putting aside my loathing for Eleanor, this story isn't that bad. It did have a bit of gore at the end, but it wasn't nearly as bad as "Together Forever." Sarah's struggle with self-image and popularity is relatable to a young teen audience. I was moved when she made up with Abby.
24. "Felix the Shark" The first half of the story is really good, but then it drags its feet. It's not interesting to read about a protagonist putting clues together when we don't know what half the clues are. The ending was really good though.
23. "Dance with Me" Kasey's attempt to start over being thwarted by her falling back into bad habits was really realistic. I was routing for her to redeem herself. I was a bit confused by the ending though. Was the girl dancing because of Ballora, or was she dancing because she wanted to? Are we meant to know?
22. "Room for One More" I felt bad for Stanley, but I don't understand the logistics of Minireena vore. How were they spread throughout his body? That's not how ingesting things works.
21. "Gumdrop Angel" Angel's family problems were very relatable. I don't have a step-dad, but I could understand her resentment toward Ophelia for the difference in treatment. Dominic crying for Angel was a really humanizing moment.
20. "Pizza Kit" I can't really explain why I like this one so much. Maybe it's because this story was always misrepresented to me in summaries/other rankings I've seen. Payton and Marley's dynamic is exactly like my dynamic with my childhood friend, so I found Payton extremely relatable. Her death due to her own guilt was pretty poetic.
19. "Sea Bonnies" Mott didn't do a single bad thing, and he did everything he should have. It makes me so mad that he got completely overtaken by the titular creatures for literally no reason, but I like Mott and his dynamic with Rory so much that I can't put it lower.
18. "Lonely Freddy" This dynamic is kinda reminiscent of Angel and Ophelia's, but Alec and Hazel have moments of getting along, which only makes the ending more tragic. I felt so bad for Alec when he realized how badly he had messed up with Hazel.
17. "The Puppet Carver" I like how the portions of Sage's book reflect on what's happening to Jack. I don't know if Jack actually died, but it's compelling to me either way.
16. "Fetch" All the technical, scientific talk went completely over my head, but the concept was good enough, and Fetch was an entertaining enough antagonist that I can forgive it.
15. "The Man in Room 1280" I hate the lore implications for this, even as a denier of Stitchline games, because the personal hell explanation makes way more sense than a nightmare. Regardless, I really liked Arthur, and I especially liked his dynamic with Mia. It was also fun to read about the nurses trying to kill an unkillable patient.
14. "He Told Me Everything" While Chris was kinda terrible, I found him entertaining. The last bit when he realizes the Faz-Goo is going to replace him was so good.
13. "Jump for Tickets" This one gets so misrepresented. "Why didn't Colton just steal the console?" "Why didn't he just get a job?" Did you even read the story? Both questions are answered. Anyway, if not for the ending with Aidan and Colton, this would be lower, but that little bit made my heart ache, so here it is.
12. "Out of Stock" No way! A protagonist who did something bad, got his friends involved, and mouthed off to his mom, but made up for his mistakes by being brave, saving his friends, and apologizing to his mom? In my Fazbear Frights? The happy ending was well-earned.
11. "Find Player Two!" This one was just really solid, and much needed after the first two. The realization that Mary Jo's death was Aimee's fault, but not in the way she thought, only for the same thing to happen to her, was just so poetic.
10. "Step Closer" You may have noticed that I like the exploration of sibling dynamics. I like how we get a bit of the family's reaction to Pete's fate. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I've never heard of an arm transplant. Unless that's just something that's somehow possible in the FNAF world.
9. "Blackbird" This is a lot like "Dance with Me," but I think it's better executed. Not much to say here; it's just really solid. Happy for Christine though.
8. "The Scoop" A very meta story, but I quite liked it. I can see why it was scrapped though. Relatable protagonist and a bittersweet ending.
7. "Friendly Face" "Another story where the protagonist is haunted by their guilt?" Well yes, but this one is different. This time, the "threat" is real, and the last paragraph was one of the best. I actually almost cried when Jack and Faraday died since there's so much buildup, which was helped by how realistically Edward's grief was portrayed.
6. "The Cliffs" Yeah I like tragedy, but I also love a happy ending. Robert and Tyler's dynamic was just so sweet. Justice for Tag-Along Freddy though. He was just doing his job!
5. "Bunny Call" Bob was a great protagonist. Despite being annoyed by his family, he emphasizes how much he still loves them, and he's willing to put his life on the line to protect them when he realized his mistake.
4. "The Real Jake" Jake, Margie, and Evan deserved to be a happy family together dammit. This injustice will not stand. I cried.
3. "Into the Pit" This was such a good start to the series. Someone you love being replaced by some unknown thing with only you knowing the difference is a terrifying concept. Oswald's family dynamic is also really well done.
2. "You're the Band" Timmy is so me. I guess I could basically stick my comments about "Into the Pit" here, just replacing "start" with "end" and "Oswald's" with "Sylvia's." I just like it more here I guess. Also hi, Mike.
1. "Coming Home" I called that Susie was already long dead from the start, but that just meant I didn't need to reread to get a full impression, since I was already considering both sides. I wish we got more stories about the other victims, because as it stands, only the girls have any substance to them. Gabriel, Jeremy, and Fritz are just names, and that makes me sad. Anyway, this story made me cry.

I have genuinely spent countless hours with nothing but All That Glitters on the brain since like mid December. As it comes to a close I just wanted to thank you for your writing. I’ve gotten so much happiness from it. (And also sadness but in a good, escapism-y way). I don’t think i’ve ever been so attached to a fic before. So sad to see this story end but grateful to have been blessed with ever encountering it in the first place. ❤️❤️
🎽👟🥇🐕
Thank you for this lovely message, Nonnie. I'm going to use it as an excuse to ramble way too long instead of writing the epilogue.
When I wrote even if it's a lie, I played around with a lot of tragic backstories for Achilles, though mostly non-seriously. I didn't really plan on including it--his relationship with Pat was basically comic relief. I wasn't even going to have it in eiial other than allusions to his fame and his clear fall from whatever fame that was, but a couple people asked, so I decided to have him give the abridged version to Zag.
Someone said they would read it if I ever elaborated on that story, and I remember thinking, lol I'm never writing that. Partly because at the time I assumed that painting Achilles in such a negative light just wouldn't go over well. But I also didn't really have an angle for how I wanted to tell that story, so it didn't interest me.
I don't totally remember how/when I came up with the plot for Gold, but I know @johaerys-writes was the one who really encouraged me to write it and I think @juliafied helped me with it a lot. I believe I posted the first chapter the day before I went out of town on what would be the first of many trips this autumn/winter. It's one of very few fics I wrote on google docs, mostly on my ipad because I don't own a laptop.
I think I was only a chapter or two into Gold when I started writing what is still titled in my docs as "Post-Gold." This fic ended up being such an interesting challenge because I had written what happens before and what happens after, and now I had over 20 years to cover to explain it all.
Here's what I knew at the start.
1. Patroclus got thrown out of his house the minute he got home from Seoul.
2. Achilles sets his own life on fire and Patroclus takes the blame for it, resulting in Achilles moving to Tartarus in shame and not returning until 2022 with Zagreus.
3. Because I'd already written it in eiial, the first time Patroclus sees Achilles in years, the first thing he does is make out with him. (I regretted this one a lot, but hopefully I made it work 🤣)
4. A 39yo got a silver medal in the javelin at the 2020 Olympics. As a result, one of the first lines I wrote was "Take me to Paris, Achilles." That entire scene changed, but I kept the line.
So then it was a game of filling in what actually happened (so much math to figure out the years and their ages lmao), and figuring out how to show the journey of two men growing up, growing apart, and then putting their lives back together. All the years were written out of order, which is why the different sections start the way they do-- originally it was just a system to help me keep track of what year it was and make sure I covered each one.
And with all of that, I thought this fic was going to be shorter than Gold. I figured each year would just be a snapshot--maybe 500-800 words to get a sense of it. Short and sweet.
I'm an idiot, of course. Just the reconciliation that took all of three sentences in eiial required over 15k words for this fic, and it could have been longer.
It was so fun to imagine all these eras of their life. I went from writing about guys who were much younger than me to men who were older than me. The way the world has changed between the year 2000 and the year 2022 is kind of astounding. Someone asked me why the boys couldn't just text each other in Gold and it's because it hadn't really been invented yet. We barely had wifi. They would have had an answering machine at their first apartment they shared with a goofy message recorded together.
To make a long, unnecessary essay short, this fic went from something I had no enthusiasm for and was certain I wouldn't write, to something I'm really proud of. I'm going to miss it.
I was talking recently with someone about this fic from Achilles' perspective-- over the 22 years, which moments would he pick as important in their lives for better or worse, and how many of them would match up with Pat's. I have no intention of writing that story, but it certainly would be a way to sit in this universe a little longer.

God, I’m thinking about Shirou, and how the endings to the routes all connect one way or another to each other.
The Neutral HF ending is like the Fate ending, the True HF ending relates to the UBW ending.
Like, the Fate ending, with Shirou keeping Saber in his memories and cherising the two weeks he spent with her, it just makes me think of Sakura never moving on with Shirou and living a nice live nevertheless.
And the Epilogue where he finds Saber in Avalon, it’s like the true HF ending, where he manages to find a happy ending with Sakura.
There’s an ending where one of them keeps a person who will not return in their thoughts for the rest of their life. And an ending where they end up with that person despite the odds.
The UBW ending is amazing because of how he sticks by what he believes in, even if he knows it will end badly, and that connects back to the Fate route with Saber, how she knew what would come of drawing Excalibur from the stone.
And it connects to HF, because that route shows that he can abandon his ideal, so it adds so much more to the fact that he sticks by it in UBW. It’s not inevitable that he’ll stick by them, he chose to stick by them. He looked at his ideals, and decided they are worth it.
This is why I don’t think I can discount any of the routes. They’re all great in their own ways. Yeah, HF led to a lot more death and was more tragic, but it still ending in Shirou being able to live as a human. Yeah, UBW keeps him as a machine, but he knows this path and is choosing it regardless. Yeah, Fate has the person he’s stood by the entire route leave forever, but he can keep her in his heart regardless, and there is a chance, however small, for them to be together at the end.
I’d seen people say they love every version of Shirou Emiya. And I feel like I can finally admit that I do. I mean, I’ve always loved Shirou, especially since playing the VN, but now I truly appreciate them all.
Fate Shirou, UBW Shirou, HF Shirou, Archer, even Muramasa from FGO. Name a Shirou, I will love him.

Top Ten CR Romance Arcs
Heyyyyy!!! How are you? 🥰
10. Imogen/Laudna
- Nothing in campaign 3 is canon yet, but I think this one is so obvious it’s smacking everyone in the face. Would genuinely be surprised if it doesn’t happen and I know it’s gonna be beautiful but that’s why it’s at the bottom of the list.
9. Ashton/Fearne
- As I just said there is no canon ship in campaign 3 yet but the flirting between Ashton and Fearne is literally killing me they’re both so hot and I really just want big strong barbarian Ashton to carry their soft femme girlfriend around. So I’m hoping to get more and more of this ship and if it does continue to develop I can see it easily be one of if not the fave
8. Percy/Vex
- Probably a little controversial with how far down the list this ship is. Idk why, I adore Percy he’s one of my faves, but I just never loved this ship as much as everyone else. That being sad they’ve some absolutely incredible emotional scenes, like all the stuff during the Briarwood arc and the Feywild, and absolutely killer witty ones. The bathtub one is probably my favorite. Haven’t watched the wedding one shot yet, maybe it’ll change my mind and move them up higher.
7. Kashaw/Zahra
- Ngl I always wanted more of Kashaw and Keyleth, but Zahra is so fucking funny and sassy that I love the way their relationship developed. Kashaw is such a tragic character but he gets a (somewhat) happy ending.
6. Beau/Yasha
- Beauregard is easily one of the best characters in CR, hands down. She has flaws, but they make her interesting. She’s a monk (and they’re just incredible) for the pursuit and protection of the truth. Yasha’s story is tragic but hopeful, and I thought their epilogue was incredibly compelling.
5. Scanlan/Pike
- I thought the progression of their relationship was incredibly sweet. Scanlan always struck me as someone who used sleaziness as a defense, so I like the idea that his relationship with Pike was purely sweetness.
4. Allura/Kima
- I don’t wanna say this relationship came as a shock; it was more like, when it was revealed, I was like, “Duh! Of course I should’ve seen that coming!” Kima is one of my favorite allies of Vox Machina and to see them together years later in the Mighty Nein was so wonderful!
3. Caleb/Essek
- Not exactly canon, yes, but I think close enough there that it works. I’m also obsessed with Caleb and Essek. It’s so incredibly beautiful the way Essek is a perfect foil to Caleb’s journey, and how Caleb basically worked to redeem Essek. I adore all the possibilities of a future for them, one that I think leads to much less strife than their lives had been up to the point that they met.
2. Fjord/Jester
- Jester’s development from an infatuated crush to true, deep, meaningful feelings was such a sweet story, as well as Fjord realizing just how important she is to him. There’s so many possibilities for more stories that I wanna see from the two of them.
1. Vax/Keyleth
- As soon as Vax started developing feelings for Keyleth, I was sold. First of all, my favorite trope in the whole wide world is the guy catching feelings first. Vax is so gentle and so patient with Keyleth while she figures out her feelings for him; and then she becomes protective as HELL over her boyfriend. I like to imagine Keyleth had little references to him all over her life now during Bells Hells, and not that she’s moved on but that she’s found a melancholic happiness.

Continuing my thoughts from the post linked above, maaan, I can't stop thinking about what those lyrics mean as a possible representation of Stanley's thoughts. That he genuinely cherishes every new moment he gets to spend with the narrator and he keeps looping the game looking for new and novel moments to spend with him.
The new playtest ending has to be so tragic for him. The narrator drops his sarcastic and insulting attitude from the original version of that ending and for once he seems to genuinely enjoy playing those games with Stanley. But the narrator then does what he does best and gets hung up on his story and decides to teach Stanley a lesson for getting off track and ultimately leaves him with no choice but to push onward and cause a reset.
Stanley probably wants that domestic AU more than the narrator, but the nature of the parable means they both will never get to that point of understanding. The narrator forgets after most resets and loses any direction his characterization was going in, and there is no ending for Stanley where they get to settle their differences and just chill. The zending is a stasis where the narrator stops talking until he is provoked to speak again, so of course Stanley would not enjoy that ending as a truce between them.
The new content has to be such a gut punch from his perspective too. He finally gets something new and the narrator seems to be carrying his memory between the resets due to his desire to make a sequel, but the new content involves Stanley being forced into an impossible situation where he has to put the narrator through a fate worse than death. And while he probably takes to the bucket as strongly as he does exactly because the narrator gave it to him, the new content ultimately accumulates with the narrator deciding he's done with the game and ‘retires’ him. Stanley finds out that even when the narrator is finally willing to give up on his story and that they might have a chance to start something new, the narrator ultimately doesn't see moving on as taking Stanley with him to his next endeavor. He only thinks of Stanley within the terms of his story for the game. So, when Stanley gets dumped to wander the epilogue desert forever, of course he jumps at the chance to restart the parable anew. If that is the only way he can be with the narrator, so be it. He'll keep the narrator as trapped within the parable as much as Stanley is trapped within the context of the story the narrator wrote for him.

actually Augh i'm going to talk about the setter again. the slider. the white castle burger
they are so nice i will cry
canon points to it being the very opposite of this (employee number 432 being referred to with he/him pronouns) BUT. mariella as the settings person rights
the character development there is sorta interesting to me because mariella's fixated on work and being a "normal" person with a "boss" and an "office" and then 432's thing is about wait. wait. wait. none of this is normal actually. why am i here. why is everyone acting so strange and yet so normal at the same time
so 432 searching for pencils for their sharpener with added mariella context? cool cool cool cool!!
mariella and the curator know each other because i say so. the curator's like do you see this shit employee number 432 and mariella's in the corner like why don't you have eyes
i imagine they went through the same thing stanley and the narrator are now
the curator's like our story is done. and mariella is like then we need to find niches in this one so we don't dissolve!! we're not going to move on! we're going to beat our lives into the ground to keep being! and curator's like i hella agree with you. that's why i'm going to make this museum that focuses on the past. and i'm going to make sure these characters don't go through the same thing we did. mariella's like i'm so glad we get along so well. this is the best ending. the curator's like yeah :) the best ending :)
the slider person is so polite and nice and Unsettling and Bad and You Need To Get Out Of There Too and Do You UNderstand Why I'M not Visiting
just. the only way i can help you is by letting you move on and doing the same
the epilogue crushes my heart in certain ways but mostly because- well despite how tragic it is, or maybe because of it, the skip ending is the "best" sort of ending for stanley and the narrator??? or it could be interpreted that way?? by me, who was freaking out over the skip ending the whole time i watched it, so my memory might be tainted by time????????
like we know from the epilogue that that ending CONTINUES. and the world is empty but it is liveable and stanley no longer has the narrator There. when the game resets it SEEMS like the narrator doesn't remember the skip button at all specifically. he remembers other things though. plot holes like these have consistently been necessary for the stanley parable's story. my point is that due to that ending being such a lifetime that shouldn't have been lived, stanley and the narrator are forced to move on Without each other and Without the parable
we see stanley go through a desert presumably from somewhere else- presumably adventuring back to the ruins of the parable. he's going back to it. He's going Back to it. the epilogue is supposed to be an ending and we don't know WHy stanley went back to it but maybe it was a way for him to move on? or maybe it was the only thing he had left??? since the world is so empty????????
the point is that this ending could ahve stayed ambiguous because the narrator wasn't there, but white castle burger IS there!!! and slider is the one who wants this to continue!!!!! and blah blah obvious things happen adventure line gjinka.
my point is. settings person is cool and lovely and they're funny and i love them. i like how they're set up as a breath of fresh air from the existential comedic horror that's the game, and specifically as a contrast to the narrator, but then, no. they're not free from it either, even if we're here. and they're messed up because who wouldn't be???
they're another reason to bond with ultra deluxe, they're something new, but they're not a way out of this. they're just a way further in. no part of the story is a way out of this
fuck. that's a lot of yelling from me
last thing to say the way their dialogue was written really reminded me of how the beginner's guide is narrated. so that was super fun. i thought they were a representation of the game devs at first and was bracing myself for a love letter to the game and to the player
oh god in a twisted way that sort of was what it was!!!!!
okay this is really the end for now

4, 22, 28, and one of your choosing for the writing asks!!
thank you so much!! I'll put the answers under the cut so this doesn't get too long
4. What's the fastest you've reached a romantic couple's first kiss (in words/scenes/chapters)? First "I love you"? Other landmarks?
Answered here, but the short answer is Heartstrings
22. Have you ever written a break-up scene? How did it go? Was it a permanent split?
Not in what I've currently written, no. I've sort of ducked around it - mainly, the characters reach a break in their relationship after being separated by other means, often forcible - and a few of my fics do involve characters talking about their past relationships, but I've never written a traditional breakup scene.
28. Have you ever written a tragic romance? How did it turn out?
Again, not yet. I don't really write a lot of tragic endings when I write fanfiction, since I don't find that as enjoyable. Like I say to my friends, I'll put my characters through endless torture, as long as they get a happy (or at least hopeful) ending when it's all over. But I do have one fic, outlined but currently unwritten, that will involve a tragic romance. One of the characters becomes the villain of his story, so the fic idea is a prequel that would give him his motivations as a villain... which means his loved one has to die. Sorry, Venus.
and one of my choosing... let's go with 48, I thought that one was interesting when I wrote it
48. Are there any relationships you've lost passion for writing? Are there any relationships that started slow but gained momentum over time?
Admittedly, I kinda wrote myself into a corner in the later chapters of Symphony in Silver, and it got pretty difficult to write. HOWEVER, literally yesterday I came up with a way to close it out, and I've got a little of my passion for that story back. Hopefully I can summon the mental energy to write that epilogue and close the story out on a high note, especially since it's been over three months since my last update.
And vice versa... honestly, I never expected Who Waits Forever Anyway? to get as popular as it ended up being, and it helped me gain a lot of momentum for writing that story and the relationships contained within it. Admittedly, we're at a bit of a lull right now, since I've been too busy to write and the next chapter requires a lot of scene-syncing to the original movie (which is time-consuming and not as creatively stimulating, but I have to get through it to move forward), but as a whole the story's gained a lot of traction from where I began.
Thank you so much for asking!!! I really appreciate it <3 <3 <3

YOUR TAGS ON SOO’S FILMOGRAPHY ALFHAKHSAKBit really do be like that 😭😭😭
Like 75% of his stuff hits straight to the water pipes, even the stuff he only has a minor role in
Tumblr media
LITERALYYYYYY its so hard to watch most of his stuff even tho i want to bc hes such a good actor but when theres a new movie of his coming out its almost always a serious drama and im like,,,,,,,,,,do i wanna watch him die again or do i need some happiness rn bcjskqkwjjdjshhhsqjj
probably why i rewatch 100 days my prince so often its my favorite kdrama of his (i love historical dramas so im biased lol) and yeah theres some sad and even tragic moments but its overall a good time and very interesting (plus he and nam jihyun are wonderful in this (and everything they do tbh) and so are the supporting actors
also now im going to use this as an excuse to ramble about my thoughts on the show bc i love it but i have Critiques™ so ill put a read more for spoilers bc ill talk about them a lot
almost all of these issues if not all are all about the writing so there wont be any criticism of the acting which i thought was pretty good overall by kdrama standards (there were only a few times where i thought it was detrimental to my enjoyment but again it was still more to do with my problems with the writing)
so to really get into it, the pacing suffers with the back half of the episodes feeling a bit rushed especially in the last few episodes. i didnt feel like the first half was dragging much except in a few areas but again it didnt detract from my enjoyment. the last id say 5 or 6 episodes really feel like they were speedrunning which made the ending less satisfying
so when i looked at reviews of the show years ago i saw many people criticizing how the main antagonist died bc it felt anticlimatic and i do agree, especially on first watch. while its not as jarring as the first time when ive rewatched it the way he dies still doesnt feel built up as well as it could have been and i think it could have worked if the pacing for the ending wasnt so rushed (plus the numerous twists during the last couple of episodes made it a bit hard to follow where it was heading and some of what WAS set up i think was lost in that but tbh thats par for the course for kdramas lol)
speaking of the ending, i get why it ended the way that it did with the marriage mandate happening again to make everything come full circle, but character wise i dont think it was the way to go. wondeuk has always expressed even before he lost his memory that he hated being royal and never wanted to live that life because of what his father did to get it. and even knowing that he wasnt wondeuk and was probably a noble at the very least he wanted to be with hongshim in the village or wherever they needed to go. hongshim similarly has already gotten used to being a commoner and has lived that way longer than her former life. even in the epilogue she doesnt really live her life as a noble even if her status has been reinstated. i think it wouldve made more sense if he renounced the throne and chose to live with her in the village.
adding to the last point, if they had stayed in the village together and he abdicated, then his half brother would be the crown prince and the queen wouldnt be on her bullshit even at the end of the show!!! dude literally killed the guy who was threatening you and controlling your husband and you still cant stop trying to fuck him over so your son can be king??? i know the evil manipulative queen is a trope in these but shes so illogical it was a bit annoying which is a shame bc i usually love those characters
the show like,,,,,less than halfway through forgets wondeuks half brother is even a character like why was he even there. theres some indication in the beginning of the show that he likes the crown princess but that doesnt really go anywhere (its only brought up in like 2 scenes at the beginning and in the epilogue wheres shes moved to a remote location with the baby and goes to visit for some reason.....dude yall had maybe 3 lines of dialogue between each other. why are you here) and he even tells wondeuk that he hates him but we never really figure out why bc he doesnt really want to be the crown prince that much (not that i can recall rn) so his only role in the story is to help the queen be a red herring but not be a real character of his own
this is more of what i felt upon rewatch but every time i rewatch it i find it more and more annoying but the palace drama where the queen is spreading rumors and then the guys who support the antagonist make fake fliers about how the kingdom wants her deposed for this in order to manipulate the king is just,,,,,extremely uninteresting upon rewatch. like so much is happening that goes on for so long and its dragged out for way longer than it should be AND it takes time away from the village plot with wondeuk and hongshim aka the actual interesting part. so now i mostly just skip those parts even tho when i first watched the show it was fairly interesting tho i felt it dragged on a bit too long so i wont say this is a huge strike against it or anything
while i knew the brother was going to die bc thats how these kinds of stories work i was still upset fjisjshdsjsh he was a great character and while i think it still makes sense why and its still narratively satisfying imo, i think it would still be satisfying if he lived and he and the princess escaped successfully. i think it would work a little bit better actually bc it would make the antagonists decisions make a little more sense in the finale bc not everything is going to his plan and hes losing more control (plus they deserve to be happy :(( they deserve the happy ending wondeuk and hongshim get too) plus it would still tie in with hongshims motivations for rejecting wondeuk initially before the epilogue
thats the last of the criticism but this isnt a praise so ill leave an idea i had for like a what if scenario ig: so i always wondered what would happen if either the antagonist doesnt get to wondeuk in time during the festival or he gets killed by the people the king sent to attack him and hongshims brother gets there to take them them plus her dad with them into hiding. and the awkward tension that would ensue when wondeuk either figures out her brother is the assassin thats been coming after them or just immediately knows when he sees him come to get them but they both dont want to hurt hongshim by telling her what they know about the other but shes distressed that they obviously dont like each other and this is all happening while theyre running around the woods and trying to find a place they can hide out and her dad is just,,,,,,,so confused the entire time but trying to make everyone get along fjwwqkdhuheuedh idk i could add to this later bc i have so many ideas on how it could play out but ill stop there fisksjbdjssjdjssj

all in all, i was expecting the end of episode 4 to be darker. i really thought amid would come back to life wrong and be evil, but alas. and i wanted ran to be the one that died, not zahhak. it just felt like the more tragic move for the characters. like zahhak has alienated ran in his dogged pursuit of a way to fix their relationship only for him to die? and that moment when zahhak beats ran in a fight and ran looks up and his internal monologue is like “i understand love now” after centuries of traveling the world looking for love and human connection. if he’d died to protect zahhak during the final ritual instead of zahhak just taking the hit and dying, i think the ending would have been more gut wrenching. and the idea that epilogue amid and zahhak would be together grieving for ran instead of ran and amid grieving for zahhak is so tasty, because zahhak and amid only originally bonded because of their shared love for ran. idk man!!

So, it turns out that there are just 15 minutes of extra scenes split into 2 parts (a 7-minute part and an 8-minute part) to hastily tack on a happy ending.
Ying Yuan and Yan Dan somehow cultivate back to life after incubating in the incense burner, though we’re not told how much time it took them to do so. Did it take them a week? A decade? 500 years? Who knows? Or maybe I missed it. Either way, coming back to life didn’t seem that hard.
If it were that easy to just come back to life, then why was episode 59 so tragic? Why did it seem so hopeless? It just negates the sacrifices that they made before. Like what was the point in all of that?
I had to wait 5 days in order to see these bonus scenes, but for someone who’s binge-watching this drama, they’re jumping from a tragic and seemingly permanent sacrifice, straight to seeing Yan Dan and Ying Yuan suddenly come back to life 5 minutes later.
And in terms of these bonus scenes, we’ve already seen glimpses of all of them in the trailers, so there wasn’t even anything new or surprising in these extra 15 minutes. Like sure, we get a couple of cute scenes, but it feels kinda hollow and meaningless? They didn’t even show all of scenes they cut, like one kiss scene where the BTS footage of it is floating around all over bilibili. I thought that we’d see that scene in these bonus clips. It seemed like a really playful kiss scene, while the 2 kiss scenes that we do we see in these 15 minutes felt really stiff. Edit: So after re-watching those BTS scenes, it seems like the deleted kiss was in the dream sequence. The drama really peaked there.
Yan Dan finally becomes a playwright and fulfills her dream, but there’s no emotional impact to this revelation because she never really talks about this dream of hers for the entirety of Part 2. So again, it feels very hollow and tacked on. As though they just did it for the sake of having a happy ending.
I think the only thing I appreciated from this epilogue was that Yu Mo and Chao Lan didn’t end up together and instead Chao Lan finds happiness with someone else.
I was just hoping of seeing more of Yan Dan and Ying Yuan’s domestic life. They’ve gone through hell over these past 59 episodes, so I wanted to see them feeling awe, disbelief, and blessed that they’re finally living their dream life together. But I did like seeing how they’re living their own life, while still being very connected with the YeLan Mountain spirit community. Gou Dan was adorable, but because they’ve condense the epilogue into 15 minutes, we don’t see Yan Dan’s pregnancy process like we did in their dream in episode 11 (but I guess that’s probably why they don’t show it because it would be repetitive). I don’t really get any warm, familial feelings from them even though I wanted to.
Sigh. The bonus scenes were alright, but not satisfying enough. But I am relieved that this is over so that I can move on.

Into The Horizon - The Titles - The Conclusion
BEYOND THE HORIZON
Stories For A New Day
So, apparently my brain wasn’t done dreaming after all that shit. It needed to make me suffer more.
To combat it, I started writing NON-Dream fics in the same universe.
The following stories are a blend of dream and freeform stories within the universe that serve as either prequels, epilogues, or asides. Oh! Fun thing, there was an ENTIRE story here that was exclusively Zowens as it happened in the Alternate Universe after Shane was abducted. So in case any of you wanted a single story that was exclusively them, stay tuned. It’s the first one of the lot.
Story 1 - L'histoire de toujours (The History of Forever)
This one isn’t specifically divided into chapters as much as it is divided into sections. Listed below are the opening lines of each section.
The first time Kevin saw Generico, he hated him.
The first time Kevin met Sami, his chest tightened.
The first time Kevin and Sami had coffee, it was after the October show.
The first time Kevin saw Sami wrestle, he couldn’t believe it.
The first time he wrestled Generico, there was electricity in the air.
The first time Kevin beat Sami for the title was two months later.
The first time Kevin wrestled Sami out of the country was a match in Philadelphia for CZW.
The first time Kevin got a gift from Sami was around Christmas time in Hollywood.
The first time Kevin realized he was in love with Sami was in 2006.
Story 2 – Dreams and Nightmares
WE RETURN TO SHANE AND TINA!
This one has shifting POV again, but the parts aren’t long enough to qualify as chapters, so the opening lines are just the section headers.
Tina was fighting for the championship.
Tina woke up in a cold sweat
Shane was watching the action from the stands for a change.
Shane woke up screaming
Tina didn’t get to have her conversation
Shane always knew his wife was a survivor.
Tina was sick of the nightmares
Onto Story 3! ...
Story 3 – Phoning A Forgotten Home
Still on Tina, this time without Shane’s POV!
Same format as the last two, stay with me here.
Tina was surprised when the phone rang
Tina was expecting
Tina was so happy for her friends
Tina knew the clock was ticking
Tina had figured their luck would run out
Tina had been dreading this moment for years
Tina’s comm unit was failing
Tina was in mourning all over again
Note, story 4 is this exact same section of stuff, but from Billie’s POV!
Story 4 – Conversations With Dead People
Billie’s POV
Billie had finally reunited with her sisters
Billie was trying her best
Billie never thought she’d be a housewife
Billie was still watching wrestling
Billie was certain the world was ending
Billie was somehow surviving despite the chaos
This story concludes Billie and Nikki’s part in the saga.
Story 5 – The Gift of The Faeyth
Story 5 is a short, tragic story I dreamed about alternate-lifetime versions of Sami and Kevin called Celine and Kaelynn. It’s pretty bad, no really. The dream didn’t have enough depth to be turned into a full story and when I tried, it came out like shit.
It is what it is. I’ll probably post a blurb.
Moving on.
Story 6 – A Song of Light and Darkness
IMPORTANT NOTE This story is straight up DARK FIC. No really, it’s got some seriously FUCKED UP elements in it so it’s being put behind a cut and if I ever do write a blurb on this it will be heavily trigger warning-ed.
I mean it, it’s BAD. I hate myself that I dreamed this shit and I wanted to throw up when I woke up, but it’s part of the story so I’m presenting it with the explanation of this being the product of my despicable unconscious mind that likes to have me murder people in my sleep (in case you hadn’t noticed)
Anyway, this story involves the Songminder. Just a heads up
Zir final message
The day Zhe arrived
Zir joy
The day Zhe met Shane
Zir sadness
The day Zhe created Cathal (Note: This section is the fucked up one and yeah, I hate it)
Zir apology
The day Tina finds the recording
Shane’s gratitude
Bleh. Enough of THAT
Anyway, that’s the end of all of these.
The final two parts of “Beyond The Horizon” are too short to have section breakdowns but for the record, I’m absolutely going to post Story 7 IN FULL once I post the blurbs about part 3 because it is pure Zowens fluff and I have wanted to post it for ages now in the hopes that I would get to its section in the story but FUGG IT, it’s getting posted anyway!
And, not that it matters, but Story 8 is the conclusion of the entire saga and is fully written (and short) so I might post it on here. Who knows.
Anyway, if you’ve paid attention through all of this, thanks. You’re a real soldier.
Kind of like Tina.

WAVES , erik johnson (chapter fourteen)
note, this is part of the waves series which is part of the heartbreak season series. here's the masterlist if you're interested. kat and erik's relationship is heavily based on jo and alex's relationship from grey's antomy. just if anyone's curious. another note, last chapter before the epilogue! kinda sad and a little scary. i promise kat and erik will get their happy ending. the epilogue will probably be out in 2 weeks. pair, erik johnson x oc (kat foley) summary, the epic love story of kat foley and erik johnson. warnings, talk of kids word count, 815 words (really short. i know. but the epilogue will be longer, i hope)
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
After Adam died, Kat felt lighter. She felt happier. It was like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders and she felt like she could breathe again.
Kat saw Alison off at the airport, waving to her and making Alison promise to keep in touch. Although something tragic had happened, they could relate to each other in more ways than one, and they could help each other heal.
Kat and Aurora were sitting in their seats which were pretty close to the glass so they could see everything, "How is this your first game?"
"Don't know. Just never been to one." Aurora shrugged.
Both of them looked back onto the ice at the sound of tapping. Erik stood on the other side, flashing them a smile. He blew Kat a kiss, one which she returned, then tossed a puck over the glass, nodding over to the kid sitting a few seats away from them.
She nodded, then walked over to the little boy. She gave the puck to the little boy, who took the puck with the biggest smile Kat had ever seen in her life.
"Thank you." His mother smiled.
"You're so welcome." Kat smiled, before making her way back over to her seat.

Kat and Aurora were sitting in Kat's apartment, laying upside down on the couch as old reruns of Law and Order played on TV.
"So, you know what you're gonna do?" Aurora asked, looking over at Kat.
"I do." Kat nodded, "But I'm gonna need some help."
"I'm down." Aurora nodded. They flipped right side up, then stood up, grabbed their jackets, and slipped on their shoes.

Erik got home after practice and saw Kat sitting at his kitchen table, "What's going on? Did I miss something special?" He asked, looking from his watch to the calendar tacked on the wall.
"No, no, you're all good." She laughed, "I never fit in anywhere. I kept trying and wanting to belong somewhere, but it never worked out so I was always moving. Or maybe I was running from my circumstances, running from my past, running from myself and running from anyone who even dared to love me."
"Just wait a second..." Erik put a finger up as he ran down the hall into his bedroom.
"Wait, Erik..." Kat followed after him, "Erik, I'm not done yet!"
He dug through drawer after drawer, trying to find something, "Where the freak is my ring?!"
"Erik, I'm wearing it!" Kat shouted, showing him her ring-clad finger.
He looked up at her in shock, looking from her to the ring, then back over to the ring as he sat down on the bed in shock, "I always thought that there was something wrong with me, and I always wanted to run until I met you." She chuckled tearfully, "The day you walked into my bar almost 2 years ago, everything seemed to fall into place."
"You and me, we just fit, in some weird way, we fit together perfectly. And I don't ever want to leave you, Erik. I want a giant big successful career, but I don't want that without you. I don’t want to go anywhere without you.”
"You are my home and my heart." She took a breath, "Erik Johnson, will you marry me?"
Instead of answering, Erik surged forward and pressed his lips to hers. Kat pulled away first after a few seconds, "Wait, so that's a..."
"It's a yes." He filled in, "It's a hell yes." He beamed happily, leaning down and kissing her again.

A few weeks had passed, since had Erik accepted Kat's marriage proposal. Kat watched from her spot on the Landeskog's couch as Erik made faces at Linnea.
“So, you guys thinking about kids?” Susanna teased, wiggling a brow and bumping her hip against Kat’s.
“No, not yet.” Kat laughed, but something did melt inside of her chest when she watched Erik make Linnea giggle.
Later that night, Erik got into the driver’s side while Kat put her seatbelt on, “So, did you have a good time?”
“Yeah, I did.” Kat smiled.
“What’re you thinking about?” Erik asked.
“I want to have kids with you.” She blurted, “Not right now obviously, but in the future. I love how you are with Linnea, and it really makes me want to have kids with you.” He sat in his seat, digesting all the information.
“And if it's okay with you,” She continued, “I would really like to take your last name.” He looked over at her, “Because I've never had the last name of anyone who's loved me.”
The smile on his face grew wider with each word Kat spoke, “Really?”
“Yeah, if it’s okay with you. I mean, I’ll hyphenate, but I’ll be Katerina Emily Foley-Johnson.”
“I love it.” He grabbed her hand and squeezed it before bringing it up to his lips and kissing it.
