I Think I’m Going to be Sick
Warnings: knife, stab wound, stabbing, blood, wounds, bleeding out, unconsciousness, unclear character status, caretaker and whumpee
“Th-Think gonna b-b-b-e sick-ck-ck-ck,” Whumpee mumbled as they weakly tried to stem the blood pouring from their gut.
“It’s ok, Whumpee. Just hold on,” Caretaker murmured as they tried not to panic. Whumper had lured them both out to the middle of nowhere, stabbed Whumpee, and stolen Caretaker’s vehicle leaving Caretaker and Whumpee stranded.
“‘lding,” Whumpee whispered as they blinked hard. “H-H-Hurts,” they winced as Caretaker pressed harder on the wound.
“I know. I know. But we have to keep pressure on the wound.” Caretaker had called Teammate One for help. Teammate One was on the way. But they were so far away. “You gotta keep your eyes on me, Whumpee. Help is on the way.”
“C-C-Cold,” Whumpee’s voice was barely audible, their eyes becoming unfocused and glassy.
The hot summer night around them had Caretaker sweating. It was anything but cold. “Just hold on, Whumpee. I need you to stay with me.” Caretaker had made a mistake. And that mistake had cost Whumpee dearly. “Please,” Caretaker murmured, pressing harder on the wound as Whumpee’s eyes began to droop closed. “I need you, Whumpee. You have to stay. Help is on the way.”
Whumpee’s breath went out in a sigh as they lost their battle against unconsciousness. “Whumpee?” Caretaker tapped Whumpee’s cheek.
But Whumpee didn’t reply. Their skin was cold and clammy to the touch, their breaths shallow and irregular. “Come back to me, Whumpee. Please, you’ve got to come back to me.”
Caretaker pressed harder on Whumpee’s wound, desperate to keep any blood in Whumpee. They couldn’t lose Whumpee. Couldn’t let Whumper take Whumpee from them. Couldn’t be the reason why Whumpee was no longer alive. “I need you, Whumpee. You’re all I have. Please, come back,” Caretaker sobbed at the last no longer able to hold in their tears and fear.
Fear that Whumper would come back. Fear that Teammate One would be too late. And most of all, fear that Whumpee would die in their arms before help could arrive.

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

I cannot express enough that if your reaction, as a hobby artist, to not getting that many notes on your art is to say "maybe I should just stop doing art altogether" you need to stop posting art to tumblr
not necessarily forever, not even for long, but just stop putting your art on here and start doing it for you again, remember why you enjoyed doing art in the first place and stop relying on the attention of faceless people on the internet for your enjoyment of your hard work
believe me, I get it, nothing crushes the artistic soul quite like labouring for hours on a piece only for it to get like 10 notes, so you need to find your own source of joy in the act of creation and a lot of the time that means making art and not showing it to anybody

The thing is, when I entered some queer spaces irl, when I wasn't even approaching passing yet, people made fun of trans men's genitals to my face under the guise of "punching up". I was expected to "bare the responsibility of choosing the patriarchy," when keep in mind, I hadn't even cut my hair or bought new clothes yet. I was constantly lectured about the basics of my own transition and treated like a child by people much younger than me. I'd been told I was going to become a completely different person on testosterone, an angry monster, because they knew someone, "it happened to before." People were uncomfortable using he/him pronouns for me and used they/them instead. I was told I would be better as a lesbian, and some wlw tried to persistently sleep with me, telling me they saw me as a woman the whole time.
None of this is good faith feminism, it's not "women venting", it just can't be. It simply can't be.

someone on twitter said that the rain fight coloring is in blue because it's focusing on mike and his projecting while the van scene coloring is in yellow because it's focusing on will and his projecting

I've been stuck on viewing Maggie as Crowley's mirror, and for most of the show I like that interpretation. But once I started thinking of Nina as Crowley's Mirror in the ball scene specifically, I made a connection....
Aziraphale is playing God here. He has a vision- a happy romantic evening where people speak Victorian English, dress nicely, dance, and fall in love -and he wills everyone present to conform to his plan. But Nina doesn't conform. Nina feels like something isn't right. She asks questions.
She asks Aziraphale what's going on, why she doesn't feel sad when she knows she's sad, and Aziraphale doesn't give her a satisfactory answer. He tells her that the important thing is that she's here. She's here to play a role in his great plan. To dance in his ball.
So she expresses her concerns to Maggie. Maggie hadn't seen the issues at first, but she listens to Nina, and Nina gets her to acknowledge the absurdity of the situation just a little bit. Listen to their conversation at the dance again. It sounds SO MUCH like the conversations we've heard Crowley and Aziraphale have a thousand times during their 6000 year dance. Crowley calling out heaven, asking questions, trying to get Aziraphale to consider the absurdity of it all. Aziraphale mostly defending heaven, but listening, and sometimes acquiescing.
And this all falls in line with a point I've made before - In season 2, Crowley's relationship with Aziraphale begins to mirror his relationship with heaven. Aziraphale shows a pattern of not listening to Crowley the whole season, but especially in this scene. Crowley tries to ask him what is going on, and alert him to very real danger, but Aziraphale is dismissive. He is blinded by his desire to see his plan to fruition.
And just so we're clear, this is not an Aziraphale hate post. Rather, I think it might give us some insight into where God is coming from. Because Aziraphale's actions may be dismissive and controlling, but they are motivated by love. Misguided, certainly, but with all the best intentions. I have a feeling, when we finally meet God, it will be a similar story. And maybe both She and Aziraphale will learn that sometimes to love means to let go.

I think sometimes people need a little reminder about this scene and how important it is in showing us how the dynamic between Arthur and Mary worked.
The feelings between them are solely mutual, nobody is taking advantage of the other, and they actually talk about it. They have the maturity to admit how much they wanted things to be different, and they agree that it's all in the past now.
Mary doesn't demand his help or beg on her knees. She asked sincerely because that's still her father, no matter how he treats her. Arthur knows this, he knows how important (what's left of) her family is to her. He put his feelings about her father aside because he wants to help.
Even despite how their lives had changed over the years, they still cared so much about eachother. After losing her husband, her brother going back to college, her mother not being around anymore and her father still being abusive, Mary was fucking lonely.
She was so miserable and if there was anybody left that she could trust, it would absolutely be Arthur.
And it hurts because so much between them was left unsaid, it's just that Arthur took it to the grave.
