@loudnclearspot said sender kisses receiver to comfort them. reverse. (to jack)
JACK ABSOLUTELY HATES SEEING SPOT UPSET. MAYBE BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T GET UPSET OFTEN OR maybe because he just wants to see her happy. Whatever it is, he’s never liked seeing her upset. And today is no exception. He doesn’t know why she’s upset but he knows better than to ask. It’s not his business. He wants to do something, though, so he glances around to ensure they’re alone and leans down to kiss her.
“You okay?” he asks when they separate. He hopes she is.

HISTORY:
Jack Kelly was born to Francis and Martha Sullivan on November 12, 1882. He wasn’t expected, nor was he really wanted. But the parents tried to make the best of having a son. They named him after Francis, figuring it was the best name they could give him. They raised him as best they could, but it wasn’t until Francis II was three that things started to look up.
When Francis II was three, his younger brother was born. His name was Thomas Francis Sullivan and he was the light of everyone’s life. He was the perfect baby and the perfect child. Somehow, Francis II wasn’t jealous. He was just happy to have a brother. But tragedy struck when Thomas was four; he was crushed under the wheels of a runaway carriage and killed.
The Sullivans never recovered from the loss. Francis I turned to drink and drugs and wound up in a state penitentiary for life. Martha didn’t fare much better. She left her son one day and never came home. Francis II renamed himself as Jack Kelly and found a home with the Manhattan newsboys. He eventually became their leader and was known around New York as someone you could go to if you were in trouble. Cowboy can help you out, people always said, and so Jack always made sure he did.

so that’s what they call a family ; verse - pre canon. francis lives with his parents and younger brother. it’s not a good life, but it’s not a bad one. most of the attention is on thomas, so francis is free to do what he likes. he usually explores the city and is out until dark. when thomas dies, everything gets worse. his dad gets arrested and his mom leaves. so francis leaves, too. he finds a home with the manhattan newsies and stays there.
they jacked up the price ; verse - canon. the newsboy strike of 1899. jack and his friends are outraged at the price raise and decide to do something about it. they organize a city-wide strike for all young workers in new york, not just the newsies. they have some trouble with the police and the warden, but that’s to be expected. in the end, pulitzer puts the price back where it was and life goes on as normal.
i still got some livin’ to do ; verse - post canon. the strike is over and the price of papers has been returned to normal. life is good and jack spends his days selling and teaching the new kids everything there is to know about being a newsie.
he rode out on the back of roosevelt’s carriage ; verse - pre canon, jack’s time in the refuge. he’s arrested for stealing food and blankets for some of the younger newsies and his sentence is supposed to be six months. he breaks out after two and spends the rest of his life ensuring that no one else is sent there.
think of that train as she rolls into old santa fe ; verse - post canon au verse. jack chooses to go to santa fe when the strike ends. he doesn’t see the point in staying in manhattan and so he takes the first train down to new mexico. he finds work on a farm and still sells papers on the weekends. he misses manhattan, but he’s content. he’s where he’s always wanted to be, after all.
that’s the power of the press ; verse - modern. jack is more of a handyman than a newsie. he picks up odd jobs here and there around the city, but he sells newspapers more than anything else. he loves the boys he sells with and considers them family.

Faye Fangirls About My Chemical Romance, Part 1 (Danger Days
Danger Days: True Lives Of the Fabulous Killjoys – Sorta pop punk ig, some more rocky songs
Excluding the ‘songs’ where its just talking
Okay so basically  this is their most recent album, 2014, and it follows the Killjoys as they fight against BL.IND (Better Living Industries) who seek to ELIMINATE all  individuality. (Spoiler: They die saving The Girl in the music video for SING)
Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)
Upbeat!!! Dancing!!! Fast!!! You jump around screaming about doing crime and partying and sex!!! I love it!!! (you should listen to it after Look Alive Sunshine, which is the intro to the album and its just Dr D speaking, and at the start of Na Na Na, it goes ‘THE FUTURE IS BULLETPROOF! THE AFTERMATH IS SECONDARY!! TIME TO DO IT NOW AND DO IT LOUD! KILLJOYS, MAKE SOME NOISE!!!’)
Bulletproof Heart
Uh so this is sorta less fast and stuff but its SO cool and idk how to describe it but its sorta jaunty? First song I listened to by the band!!! (Fav part is ‘and tho, I know, how much you hate this. Are you gonna be the one to save us? From. The black. And hope-less feelin. Will you meet ‘em when the end comes reelin? Hold, your heart, into this darkness. Will it ever be the light to shine you out? Or fail. And leave you stranded? I aint gonna be the one left standin. You aint gonna be the one left standin, and we aint gonna be the ones left standin!!!’)
SING
Aaaaaaaaa this ones so cool, took a bit to grow on me, its mostly slow and repetitive but the BRIDGE ‘Cleaned up corporations PROGRESS! Dyin in the PROCESS! Children that can TALK ABOUT IT livin on the WEB-WAYS, people movin SIDEWAYS, sell it til your LAST DAYS, buy yourself the motivation GENERATION NOTHIN! Nothing but a DEAD SCENE! Product of a WHITE DREAM! I am not the SINGER THAT YOU WANTED BUT A DANCER! I REFUSE TO ANSWER! TALK ABOUT THE PAST SIR! WROTE IT FOR THE ONES WHO WANNA GET AWAY! ……. Keep runnin.’
Planetary (GO!)
Okay so like omg. I love this one. Everythings amazin. Starts off slightly slow, and then starts movin faster around the verses? AND THE VIBES!!! Ive got a few favs and ill save them here (I love the way theyre said too-) ‘Ladies and gentleman, truth is now acceptable! Fame! Is now injectable, PROCESS THE PROGRESS, This core is critical, faith is un-a-vail-a-ble, Lives, become incredible-‘ and also ‘Youre unbelievable, ah, so unbelievable, ah, you ruin everything, oh, you better GO HOME! Im unbelievable yeah, im undefeatable yeah, LETS RUIN EVERYTHIN, BLAST IT TO THE BACK ROW- they sell presentable, young! And so ingestible! Sterile and collectable! SAFE, and I cant STAND THAT! This is a letter, by word, is the beretta, the sound, of my vendetta against, the ones that PLANNED IT!’ So uhhhhhhhhh yeah lol
The Only Hope For Me Is You
Likeeeeeeeee holy SHIT this one just sorta- idkkkk- ‘Where? Where were you when, all of the embers fell? I still remember them… covered in ash. Covered in glass. Covered in all my friends, I still… think of the bombs they built- IF THERES A PLACEEE THAT I COULD BE, THEN ID BE ANOTHERR MEMORY, CAN I BE THE ONLY HOPE FOR YOU? BECAUSE YOURE THE ONLY HOPE FOR ME! AND IF WE CAN FIND WHERE  WE BELONG, WE’ll Have To make It on our own!! Face all the painnn and takeee it on, because the only hope for me, is you alone…’ its one of the slower ones tho
Party Poison
This one starts in Japanese for some reason??? Its hard to explain… another fast and dancy type one ig, but sorta raw-er?  Its sooooooo weird- not one of my favs but its semi popular
Save Yourself, I’ll Hold Them Back
Okay so idk how to describe this really- sorta gives Only Hope type thing but faster and sorta rockier? Idk. My fav parts tho!!! ‘Get offfff the ledge, and drop the knife… Not a victim of a victims life! Because… this aint a room fullla suicides- WE’RE BELIEVERSS I BELIEVE TONIGHT-‘ OH AND ONE OF THE MORE POPULAR LINES PEOPLE KNOW ‘Ill tell you well how the story ends, where the good guys die and the bad guys win… (WHO CARES?)- THIS AINT ABOUT ALL THE FRIENDS YOU MADE, BUT THE GRAFFITII THEY WRITE ON YOUR GRAVE-‘ then the last two ‘Im the only friend that makes you cry! Youre a heart attack in black hair dye! So just save yourself, and Ill hold them back tonight….’ And ‘We can live forever if you’ve got the time- YOU MOTHERFUCKER (OHHHWHOAAAA) Youre the broken glass in the mornin light! Be a burnin’ star if it takes all night!’
S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W
OHOHOH APPARENTLY THIS ONE IS TO SOOTHE THE KIDS WHEN THE NUCLEAR BOMBS HIT AND GET THEM INTO THE SHELTER!!! (yes there are nuclear bombs, its post apocalyptic lmao) I love the bridge- ‘Love, love, love wont stop this bomb, bomb, love wont stop this bomb, bomb, love wont stop this… bomb……. Run, run, bunny, run. Run, run, bunny ruuuuuuuuuuun’ One of the slowest in the album also
Summertime
Okay so this is prolly my fav? Idk how to describe it tbh….. I know what it describes for me buuuut you don’t wanna hear me be weird about people……. Ill just tell you my fav parts (that I relate to!!!) ‘Terrified of what I’d be, as a kid from what Ive seen… Every single day when people try and put the pieces back together, just to smash them down… turn my headphones up real loud…. I don’t think I need them now…. Cos you stop the noise!!!’
DESTROYA
………………fucked up robot song where you scream and moan. What else is there to say? (the porn bots In the story worship a ‘god’ called Destroya who will supposedly come save them)
The Kids From Yesterday
I love this one too. Sorta slow ig. Nostalgic maybe? ‘Well now, this could be the last of all the rides we take…. So hold on tight and don’t look back……… we don’t care about the message or the rules they make…. Ill find you when the sun goes black…..’
Vampire Money
Dance!!! Sex!! Upbeat!!! Fast!!! ‘Three two one, we came to FUCK-‘ and my other fav line ‘and get your finger on the trigger tap the barrel of the gun! Hair back, motherfucker, jet black, SO COOL-‘

I was gonna ask about the Tech Thriller one, but Bella beat me to it, so please tell me more about the Quaratine fic (signed by me, who had covid around a month ago)
My idea was to write a story inspired by the below news article. I wrote 800 words on April 18 2020 and haven't come back to it since. This is one that probably won't ever get written (never say never, though). I think I just wasn't in the headspace to write about pandemic life; it was too depressing.
I'm sorry to hear you had covid and hope you are feeling better! I am still one of the rare few who has never had it.
🌟Ask me about my WIP folder🌟
Here's the 800 words I wrote below the cut, if you anyone is curious:
Chapter 1: If you want to sing out, sing out
“We’re going to be the only ones out there, Rachel!” Kurt protested. “If you want to look like an idiot far be it from me to stop you but I’d like to survive this pandemic with my dignity intact.
“If we’re the only ones out there, then there won’t be anyone to look like an idiot in front of, genius!” she countered.
Kurt let out an exasperated sigh. “Fine!”
Rachel immediately brightened up, took Kurt by the hand, and yanked him over to the back door of their tiny New York City apartment. They burst out onto the fire escape, suddenly thrust back into the world. Kurt inhaled the fresh air and soaked in the sense of space that had been in short supply lately.
“Okay, here, look. I pulled up the lyrics, just in case.”
Kurt gave her a scornful look. “Don’t insult me.”
“Do you see anyone?” she asked nervously.
Kurt looked around for signs of life. They could only see a handful of other apartments from their vantage point; the odds didn’t look good.
“Well, it’s 7 o’clock. I guess we start?” Kurt was unsure. Should they wait longer to see if anyone else decided to join or should they just begin.
The lone pair fumbled their way through the first verse, forgetting where the song actually started, but once they got their footing Kurt forgot about looking a fool and just let the song fill him up.
She says, we've got to hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot for love
We'll give it a shot
Woah, we're half way there
Woah, livin' on a prayer
Take my hand, we'll make it I swear
Woah, livin' on a prayer
Then Kurt heard it! Another voice! They weren’t alone after all. The figure must have noticed them too because he began to wave frantically. Kurt couldn’t help waving back just as energetically. There was such joy in the simple act of seeing another person, of bridging the distance between them through song.
On the line “take my hand,” the figure reached his arm towards them over the balcony railing. Rachel giggled and Kurt felt himself drawn as if by some invisible force to reach back.
In the distance, Kurt could hear other unseen voices join their song. He might be apart but he wasn’t alone.
After the last notes of Bon Jovi had faded, Rachel and Kurt looked out over the quiet street below them for a few more minutes, soaking in the final rays of sunshine before returning to their enclosure.
Rachel folded her arms across her chest, looking smug. “Admit it. You had fun.”
“I just wasn’t sure if it was really going to be a thing, you know? But yeah, it felt like a moment.”
Rachel’s expression softened and she joined Kurt on their living room couch.
“Did I tell you that Aaron finally got his diagnosis confirmed? I mean his understudy has taken the role for the past three weeks, but still this makes it official.”
“Wow, yeah, that’s intense. He’s doing okay, though, right?”
“Yeah, the director updated everyone after the 8pm show yesterday. He’s recuperating at home. I think his wife is looking after him.”
They had all but assumed that Aaron had the virus at this point, considering his symptoms, but it still shook Kurt to have it confirmed. Someone he knew, even tangentially, was part of this thing now. At first, Rachel had insisted that her director was overreacting by putting the entire cast and crew in quarantine for two weeks but now… well, Kurt was supremely grateful that Rachel had been as protected as possible from exposure.
Kurt suddenly glanced over at his roommate, as if to double check she wasn’t in respiratory distress and he was just noticing.
Correctly interpreting his expression, Rachel reached out to give his hand a squeeze. “I’m fine, Kurt. If I was going to get sick it would have happened already. Besides, you know I keep my immune system operating at peak performance.”
Kurt snorted.
*bzzz*
“One sec, Rach.” He pulled his phone out from his back pocket, eyes growing wide at the cryptic text message from Santana. “Turn on the news.”
He fumbled with the remote for a moment, before getting their antique television turned on and locating the local news.
“…has been and will continue to be the health and well-being of Broadway theatregoers and the thousands of people who work in the theatre industry every…”
Rachel gasped and pointed to the ticker tape rolling across the bottom of the screen.
Broadway Goes Dark
Rachel’s hand was clammy in his, clutching at him, breathing irregularly. “No, no, no. This isn’t happening. This can’t be happening Kurt!”

'Cause I've been a fuck up my whole damn life
There ain't too many things I've eva' done right
And maybe one day, I'll settle down an' get a wife
But until then, I'm just livin' my life
But I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
I'm fucked up
Real deal, thoroughbred, used to have a life of crime
Graduated, now they pay yo' boy just to write a rhyme
My best isn't enough, so I tend not to give a fuck
Only got one life to live an' I reckon I live it up, man
I'm a dog, probably need to keep me on a leash
An' listen y'all inside us all lies a little beast
With a world full of all these fuckin' different kind of people
I guess it's sad to say that there's some necessary evils
This girl is in my ear, an' she's begging me just to leave
All the sudden my ability to think is leaving me
An' I know I'm fucked up, an' Lord, I know I ain't livin' right
But, tell the truth y'all, I may never get it right
'Cause I've been a fuck up my whole damn life
There ain't too many things I've ev'a done right
An' maybe one day, I'll settle down an' get a wife
But, until then, I'm just livin' my life
But I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
I'm fucked up
Phony homies callin' me, man, I swear they like to talk
Treat 'em like my taxes now, all I do is write 'em off
Finally got it goin', man, I finally got a budget
But, wouldn'a got it if my attitude was not, "Fuck it"
So, I'm drunk all out in public, stumblin' over steps
It's ten in the mornin', an' I ain't been to sleep, yet
An' I'm still drinking, I got a meeting right around noon
Walkin' in with Shoey, an I'm high as a balloon
Whoo, I can't believe that I get paid to write songs
I've been never wrong write but I've been right wrong
Take me out in public, I'll embarrass your ass
I'm a real deal, piece of american trash
'Cause I've been a fuck up my whole damn life
There ain't too many things I've eva' done right
And maybe one day, I'll settle down an' get a wife
But until then, I'm just livin' my life
But I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
Yes, I'm just a fuck up
I'm fucked up
Dark rooms and long nights, them really long nights
We've been doing wrong things lately, but it's alright
Grew up 'round sinners, that just really wanna win
So everytime I get a chance, fuck, I'm going in!
There's no need to pretend, fuck it, let's go again!
Refuse to leave a conversation, with an open end
Ain't ever been a bully, I bullied bullies in back
My mind's got a brain that isn't fully intact
Forgive me how I talk, I might come off aggressive
But just speak direct, when you speak in my direction
I don't wanna talk circles, or pretend to be friends
I'm any day away from jumpin' off the deep end
An' meanwhile, my career, they say it's blowin' up
Everytime I drop a track, now them people goin' nuts
Meanwhile it's like a can of worms, an' it just opened up
Finally got rid of all the fucks, that tried to hold me up!
I got a publicist now, man, I've been lovin' it
But, I don't think she really knows who she' been fuckin' with!
'Cause, when I get fuckin' rich, I bet I go fuck up shit!
Get on interviews, an' I bet I say the dumbest shit
Bet, the record label hates everyone I'm runnin' with
I'ma blow off a bunch of money for the fuck of it?
Hey, look, I needed this!
Sometimes, I just need to vent!
This is therapeutic music!
Every verse, I bleed on it
'Cause I've been a fuck up my whole damn life
There ain't too many things I've eva' done right
And maybe one day, I'll settle down an' get a wife
But until then, I'm just livin' my life
But I'm just a fuck up
(Fucked up, fuck-up)

@loudnclearspot said sender kisses receiver in a theatre. reverse (to jack)
EVER SINCE HE AND SPOT HAVE STARTED THEIR—WHATEVER THIS IS—JACK HAS STARTED TO MAKE A list of all the good places they can go and have a moment to themselves. Medda’s theater is one such place. At night it’s typically populated with newsies but during the day it’s just the customers and the actors. So they’re safe. He still checks, just to make sure, before he turns and presses a quick kiss to Spot’s mouth. He wants it to be less chaste than it is but they don’t have time for that. They’re still selling, after all. “See ya tonight?” His voice is hopeful and he can’t stop the tiny smile that blooms on his face.

jealousy jealousy — kim junkyu
words: 1.7k words
warning: grammartical errors, idk what i write does it make sense? reader being insecure!
pairing: junkyu+fem reader
notes: i want to publish my jihoon's ff but i haven't finish it yet since my school is starting soon😭 anyway this ff inspired by olvia rodrigo's song, jealousy jealousy (remember you're beautiful just like the way you are!!!🤍)
Tumblr media
you couldn't help but grinned as you step into the famous YG building. it feels like a dream come true. you used to be a trainee in a small company for 5 months before decided to left, you realized that you didn't have the talent to be an idol, you're just average on everything, that's all. you gasped when you saw a huge screen in front of the escalator playing blackpink's mv on the screen. YG is that rich exactly like the news said.
"y/n!"
you turn, grinning widely at junkyu, who from the convenience store with some snacks on both of his hands. you waved at him and junkyu laugh in response
"i'm sorry for being late," he said, handing some bread to you
"no it's okay i just got here," you said
you and junkyu are best friends since high school, you're the one who supported junkyu's journey to debut, and junkyu was grateful to have a friend like you, junkyu always convince you to audition at YG but you refused since you now want to focus on your studies. but after junkyu accidentally saw a book full of lyrics song at your desk, he forced you to record one of the songs in his studio and release it on soundcloud so junkyu could promote the song to his fans.
of course, you reject the offer saying you can't sing and you don't want any attention in the university. a medical science student releases a song on a soundcloud, out of the blue, and treasure junkyu promoted her music?? no way!
however junkyu being junkyu, he didn't give up and keep encouraging you to record one of your songs, you didn't need to prepare anything just bring the lyrics and yourself, and the rest, he will work on it. after weeks tried to convince the you, you finally agreed with one term; which is junkyu need to buy you food. a lot of food.
"okay so here it's my studio, um it isn't something to brag about since half of the members have their studio," he said, opening the door of his studio showing his messy studio with a big portrait of treasure on the wall.
"you should clean your studio if you want to impress a girl kyu" you joked, getting a whine from junkyu mumbling that he would never see the world again if he brings a 'girlfriend' over.
junkyu pressed something on his keyboard and bass sound came out, making you flinch, the instrument that junkyu creates is mellow and kinda strident? as soon as you heard the instrument you know which lyrics from your lyrics book would go along and make a perfect song
"i have a perfect song for this" you excited, taking out your black notebook and turn to a back page—clearly the lyrics are fresh from the oven.
"okay i'm gonna play it and you sing the lyrics okay?"
you nodded and sing a little bit of the lyrics
"i kinda wanna throw
my phone across the room
'cause all i see are girls
too good to be true"
"woah! it's perfect" junkyu gasped, amazed at how the instrument he made suits perfectly with your lyrics. you smile, you didn't suprised much since you know how much passion junkyu has in music.
"okay now you eat first, i'm gonna rearrange the lyrics to suit with the melody," he said and get a nod from you. you eat the bread that junkyu bought for you, you also eyeing the studio, it's kinda cold in here cause the space not too big and they put a big ass aircond on top of you.
junkyu notice your quiver, he rolled his eye when you only wearing a thin black shirt material, he scoffs before handing you his pink hoodie that he left in the studio yesterday.
"i won't turn off the aircond so you must wear this hoodie, it's been a week since i wash it," he said in a teasing voice, you frown yet you have no choice to wear the pink treasure hoodie or else, you're gonna die in this cold studio.
you sigh in relief when the hoodie warms your cold body, you side-eyeing junkyu who looks so serious rearrange the lyrics, you then click on the instagram icon, you felt blue as you saw haeri post on your feed— haeri is a popular rich girl in your university, you and her once assigned in a group for an assignment and she is very kind and open about her opinions, she also very serious when it comes to study/work and she is pretty, to your eyes she is like a goddess. she is so pretty, kind, and selfless, and you really lying if you didn't jealous of her. she has a perfect life and you still struggling to get a diploma.
you slowly pressed the screen twice, liking a picture of haeri; wearing a beanie and a mask in a cafe without posing too much, getting 2 thousand likes within 1 hour. you wonder how is it to be like a rich popular pretty girl in university? well, damn sure you will get all of the pretty privileges in your life. you sighed as you realized you're comparing yourself again with haeri. you always remind yourself not to compare yourself to anyone since you're beautiful enough but you can't. the funniest thing is you and haeri didn't even know each other, yet you being so jealous of her life. sometimes you just feel small, you want to be like them.
"y/n!" junkyu shakes your body making you slap his hand
"what!?"
"i called you for like thousand times! you didn't hear me?" junkyu said, stroking his hand that got slapped by you
"oh i'm sorry, im zoning out, you're done rearranging?"
junkyu nodded
"you can listen to the instrument and practice your lyric with it," he said
"okay"
an hour passed, you finally get the tempo, beat, and rhythm right, you grin excitedly as junkyu put the headphones on your head and directing the microphone to you
"you ready?" junkyu asked
"yes i am" with that, junkyu clicked on something and you could hear the instrument, you begin to sing the verse of your song choice.
i kinda wanna throw my phone across the room
'cause all i see are girls too good to be true
with paper-white teeth and perfect bodies
wish i didn't care
you stop singing and look at junkyu curiously making junkyu paused the song and look back at you with a confused look
"why?"
"doesn't singer usually stop singing for producers fix their mistakes?" you asked making junkyu giggle
"yes that's true but you didn't have any mistake, you're doing good, i will pause the music if i have something to fix" he explained, getting an 'oh' from you. you continue singing the song.
i know their beauty's not my lack
but it feels like that weight is on my back
and i can't let it go
com-comparison is killin' me slowly
i think i think too much
'bout kids who don't know me
i'm so sick of myself
i'd rather be, rather be
anyone, anyone else
my jealousy, jealousy started followin' me
started followin' me
as you singing the song that you wrote, junkyu couldn't help but wonder who is the person, you dedicated to? or how you inspired to write this song? this song is obviously about your insecurities about some girl, and you don't even know her! junkyu pout when you felt like this, he knew how insecurities could kill you, back then when he was a trainee he felt insecure with all of the trainees that beat him to debut, he felt he doesn't belong in here but with you and his members on his side, he gained confidence and prove to the world that he is himself and nothing can change that.
all your friends are so cool, you go out every night
in your daddy's nice car, yeah, you're livin' the life
got a pretty face, a pretty boyfriend, too
i wanna be you so bad and i don't even know you
all i see is what u should be
happier, prettier, jealousy, jealousy
all i see is what i should be
i'm losin' it, all i get's jealousy, jealousy
you remove the headphone as soon as the instrument stop playing, you handing the headphone without noticing junkyu's face, chaeyul grabbed the water bottle and drink, her throat felt dry after singing a whole song which you have never done in your life, making you wonder how did singer voice so stable when singing live?
"kyu—oh my god why are you looking at me like that?" you take one step back as you saw junkyu looking at you with frowns on his face, you bit her lips was your singing that terrible?
"sit down here" he ordered, you quickly took a seat beside him without saying anything
junkyu grab your hand and rubs it softly while looking at you with his brown eyes.
"what you see is all fake y/n. she living her best life is what you see what you want, but you didn't see her pain, how hard she must through a day in her life, we didn't know if she struggles behind, you also know you can't compare yourself to others right? you're beautiful" he said
"but, i don't know kyu. i couldn't help but felt all jealous of her, i feel like a total loser" you said
“no y/n, you're not a loser! hear me out, you do great, you beautiful and an amazing person, so why do you need to be insecure to a person you never know? everyone is beautiful on their own, you're an original version of yourself and no one else could be you. you are special and unique, you wouldn't know if someone is jealous of your life, a successful medical student who has a great voice. you need to love yourself more, let yourself shine in your spotlight. trust me popular life wouldn't great as you think" he said
you smile at his words
"thank you kyu, honestly, you're right.i didn't appreciate myself enough this past week, hearing you said that making me feel great about myself, i am me, there's nothing anyone could change about me"
junkyu smile and pat your head
"that's my girl"

New songs analysis??
Yup! I'm rusty and I don't want this to get too long (but of course it will), so consider this a start, and informal collection of thoughts.
Some context that I'm working with: I'm not trying to know EVERYTHING about Notting Hill Carnival, but I did a quick google search about it. It began to take shape in the 1960s as a celebration of culture in the face of racial tension. It, from what I gather, brought people together in difficult times.
Fast forward to today, in the midst of a pandemic where outdoor concerts and festivals are struggling. That connection that you strengthen with a friend or form with a complete stranger is easily found, or if it is, it's formed at a distance, from across a screen or sheet of plexiglass. Fittingly, there's an uncertain, somewhat somber tone to the EP. Lyrics acknowledge the celebration ("play your song, we'll get along," "I am pretty, pretty, put you in a good mood") and the hesitancy and disorientation that comes from having your entire world disturbed by a significant event, and the unclear future that comes with it ("I been searchin', lookin' for a permanent reason // Out of sync with the seasons, not sure what I believe in," "I love carnival beers // It don't feel the same").
The tone of our world and by extension, this EP is fitting for the first music Gorillaz has released post-TLC. Because we all have that questions. What is there relationship like now? Specifically, what is the relationship between 2D and Murdoc? I presume it isn't too different. There's the hope, the optimism that they can reach a better understanding of one another, that there can be reconciliation and recovery, but it's weighed down by uncertainty, emotional exhaustion and distance.
It's going to be hard to analyze the lyrics without knowing who wrote them (watch Noodle or Russel wrote them lmao), but some quick thoughts, song-by-song:
Meanwhile: This is the one I've seen the most about thanks to the lyrics, "Do you really think I'd leave you?," and "Do you really think I'd forget you?"
Basically, I mostly agree. Those two lines, on their own, make me think of that they could have gone through 2D's head during TLC as he reached his hand out to Murdoc. However, the song seems pretty literal in that it's about being at carnival and not feeling the same way you did at previous carnivals. Still, I'd love to believe 2D wrote this because if you think of "carnival" as a stand-in for Murdoc's name, the song still makes sense. 2D's drinking beers with Murdoc, partying with Murdoc, dancing with Murdoc, and it's the same as it's always been, but it still doesn't feel the same. They're doing everything they used to do, trying to be what they were before SM, but it's not the same. Why? Because....so many reasons.
2Doc rating: 7/10 (10 being the most 2Doc)
Jimmy,Jimmy: On a personal note, I like this song! Let it be known here that greywindys like a new Gorillaz song, finally.
Anyhow, the lyrics remind me of Murdoc during SM1 a lot. The desire to be loved, yet running away from it - "And a burden, why is bein' loved so appealin'?" The loss of identity in response to his perceived loss of control over the band - "I been searchin', lookin' for a permanent reason //Out of sync with the seasons, not sure what I believe in," and "Now you're out of control and the lie you're livin' is a dead-end road."
I don't really have a clear 2Doc interpretation of this, other than the thought that if 2D wrote this, he was pretty observant and he took notes. I'm a sucker for 2D watching Murdoc while he isn't looking, so that's what I'm sticking with for now lol.
2Doc rating: 5/10
Déjà Vu- I like this one too! That's two songs!
This is the last song on the EP and also the most 2Doc of them all. I'll let the lyrics speak for themselves: "I got my time travel on from your distant past where I've always been with you // I got my time travel on from your distant past where I was always lovin' you."
Also, "Life is meant for living, if I do it again I'll do it with you," and "Baby we are perfectly imperfect, but that's what makes it you"
The lyrics also sound VERY 2D here. I chuckled at the seatbelt references and the new word creation ("creserted"). The verses sound like actual 2D dialogue "I like the future, but it's hard to get there," "My brain is creserted, that means I'm lost in the desert." Lmao? He also sounds so comfortable and sure of himself. I don't like neo-2D, but I like this 2D. If he wrote this song like I think he did and using it to not so subtly declare his forgiveness and willingness to try for a friendship or a relationship, then that's even better.
2Doc rating: 8/10
So, that’s my start! Other thoughts are always welcome.

Eastside is in the title of one of her songs, and it also has sneaking out late through a window, as well as this from the second verse:
"Seventeen, and we got a dream to have a family
A house, and everything in between
And then, oh, suddenly, we turned twenty-three
And now we got pressure for taking our life more seriously
We got our dead-end jobs and got bills to pay
Our old friends are now our enemies"
There's the 17-years old that appears many times in Taylor's own lyrics, family in peace, 23 in right where you left me, friends to enemies in the archer.
Finally // Beautiful Stranger has "You got hips like Jagger and two left feet" and we know Taylor says she doesn't really know how to dance plus all the people making fun of her dancing abilities,
"Your voice is velvet through a telephone" and cardigan, cowboy like me, dress all have phone calls, but nothing fits quite like Our Song, which Halsey could also be referencing. Then there's "Think I know a bar where they would leave us alone" while Taylor has all the bars from Reputation onwards. The song also has "we're dancin' in my livin' room" vs Taylor's dancing in her home from Red onward.
"I'd like to tell you that my sky's not blue, it's violent rain" in clementine and "Did I paint your bluest skies the darkest grey?" in coney island; "In my world, I'm seven feet tall, And the boys always call, and the girls do too" to "I hit my peak at seven Feet in the swing over the creek";
"Would you make out with me underneath the shelter of the balcony?" and "are you still the same soul I met under the bleachers?" ;
"when my hair stands on ends, it's saluting you" to "Salute to me, I'm your American queen".
Graveyard's "I would've followed all the way to the graveyard, Oh, 'cause I keep diggin' myself down deeper" to Taylor's opening of Look What You Made Me Do's music video, and that song also has "The warning signs can feel like they're butterflies" vs the Lover era butterflies
3am has the time, as in the title, and also has "I'm stumbling drunk, getting in a car" while Taylor has "We were in the backseat, Drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar" and "drunk under a streetlight" and "I'm drunk in the back of the car". Halsey's 3am has themes of looking for love but ignoring the potential dangers, similar to Cruel Summer. The song also has "I'm reckless, treated like a necklace, Take a different version and I try it on for size" while Taylor has "Now you try on callin' me "Baby" like tryin' on clothes" and the origami necklace in Out of the Woods and "wear you like a necklace" too. You can also see "will you please pick up the fucking phone?" as a reply to Taylor's "the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now" for fun.
In Killing Boys there's "Told me pick my battles and be picking 'em wise, But I wanna pick 'em all and I don't want to decide" and Taylor's "I tried to pick my battles 'til the battle picked me". It also has "we'll sneak in the back" and Taylor's "Come here, you can meet me in the back".
I'd continue with the use of colors some other time, but just compare the album cover of Manic to Lover. They even have the same number of letters. And if you take the bonus songs on Manic into account, the same number of songs too.
Hope you liked it! <3
this is certainly a lot to process before ive had a red bull

We're on our way now - NG
Released: 29 April 2021
A song worth over-analysing!
First, what our G-bros have said about it:
"It's a song about not getting to say goodbye and the frustration of things left unsaid." - NG
[Yes, indeed. And it's been really annoying looking at articles talk about this song like he lost someone to drugs, and is imagining them "at peace". Please. I think not.]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm also curious about this tweet which came out BEFORE Noel's release... It has not context. Just a standalone tweet. :
Lyrics speculation / song meaning:
The only way this song's lyrics make sense, is if they're metaphorical. Yay!!
And yes, I'm going to speculate that it's about the demise of this relationship with LG, and the death of Oasis. Stop reading if you don't wanna know about it.
I think this song maybe has been in the works for a long time. Verses before Liam started his solo comeback, and chorus after Liam had accomplished a comeback on par with Noel.
Remember what might have been
Had I walked you home
And said, "I'll see you later"
You were livin' the dream
But when the mornin' come
You'd gone to meet your maker [Oasis death/end of dream]
[There is regret/guilt in this verse.
What might have been: They were on the 'home-stretch', with very few gigs left to do. Noel has said that he thinks if he'd have made it through they might've just taken a break, and then Oasis would have resumed as normal afterwards.
So what if he'd have just "walked [Oasis/Liam] home"?
Also, walking someone home is typically a romantic thing.]
Good luck in the after life [post Oasis/relationship death]
I hear the mornin' sun [post oasis death]
Doesn't cast no shadow [ "as he faced the sun he cast no shadow" reference - which Noel said means being invisible. Noel is the one who hears it, so I don't think he's talking about himself.]
You chose to drift away [Fun note: "Drift" could be on the air or water, but because it's Noel and it involves Liam, I'm betting it's yet another water reference.]
We're on our way now [Individual success for both us, how nice]
But look at you now [Liam's comeback]
The truth can be so hard to swallow, hey now
[Well, not totally nice I guess. The truth is perhaps Liam didn't need Noel.
Not sure who is finding this a hard pill to swallow, Liam, Noel, or both? Also I don't think Noel is particularly happy that Liam is back in the game, but he's trying to accept it.]
'Cause you got the love, you got the love lady
[It could mean feeling like Liam is eerily blessed by lady luck, or that Liam's got his lady-love and manager, Debbie - or both. Feel like he's attributing Liam's comeback pretty heavily to Debbie. Or maybe he's happy that Liam has found love and success - and should stop bothering him? Questions questions... ]
I'm worn out [Nice to see some vulnerability. The use of "I'm" I feel implies the lyrics after this line are still Noel talking about himself. Or at least about both of them, even though he says "you".
'Cause with every little trick, they try to drag you down
You don't know why [Noel licking his wounds about Liam being "mean" to him. Maybe some confusion as to why they've both been so horrible to each other.]
Stood on top of the world [Oasis glory days]
And when the cold wind blow [their relationship became frosty/toxic as hell]
You said, "The chill DON'T matter". [Very Mancunian.. It don't matter, eh? He also does this little snarl face while saying it in the video below, which kind of feels like he's channeling Liam. Maybe a coincidence..
It's no secret that Liam wanted to continue Oasis, no matter how toxic their relationship got.]
Havin' the time of your life
But when you take those pills
Does it make it better?
[Not happy about Liam's continued drug use. Interestingly Noel nods like "yes, it does make it better!" at this part in this gig:
youtube
https://youtu.be/6EhNLF9urH4?t=97 ]
Not sure what to think.]
Good luck in the after life
I hear the mornin' sun
Doesn't cast no shadow
You chose to drift away
But look at you now
We're on our way now
The truth can be so hard to swallow, hey now
'Cause you got the love, you got the love, lady,
I'm worn out
'Cause with every little trick, they try to drag you down
You don't know why
We're on our way now
The truth can be so hard to swallow, hey now
'Cause you got the love, you got the love, lady,
I'm worn out
'Cause with every little trick they try to drag you down
You don't know why
'Cause you got the love, you got the love, lady
You got the love, you got the love, lady
