The kids love to tease Steve and call him an old man.
Well they call him lots of things. Mom, Goober, Steeeeeeeve, Party Pooper, Uptight, even Mother on occasions where Steve is being particularly annoying to them.
But old man is new.
It starts when they find him asleep on the new couch in the Byers's home. Steve doesn't even remember falling asleep, he just remembers waking up and having seven sets of eyes peering down at him and scaring the bejeezus out of him. The Party poked fun like normal, but moved on quickly to the next thing to snark about.
Then it kept happening.
Over and over. In Eddie's trailer when they play DnD and he's waiting to drive them home. During movie nights in the Wheeler's basement. Even at his job when they come over after school finishes. But, no matter how hard they push, Steve won't tell them why he's so tired all of a sudden.
He's just sure they would never let him live it down if he admitted that the reason he kept falling asleep was because he only felt safe enough to relax if all of his kid were close. He really can only sleep these days if knows that he would hear if they were in trouble and needed him.
there’s nothing like the terribly specific hurt of growing up always trying to protect your little sibling from your parents, always shielding them and watching them like a hawk and teaching them not to be too loud or too argumentative or too in the way, only to watch your parents get better for them. not perfect, no, but better.
because it means that they always had the capability to be good. they always had the ability to be mature and kind and raise their children with love and easy affection and laughter instead of raised fists and sharp nails and terrible words. they were always capable of change. they just didn’t want to do it for you.
and you don’t want to be jealous because that’s your little baby sister, who you love, who you grew up protecting, who matters more to you than anyone on the planet, but you are. you’re jealous and it’s eating you up inside and you’re so sick with guilt but you can’t help it; you wanted the mom who loves you even when you mess up instead of slapping you across the face. you wanted the dad that makes weekend afternoons fun instead of getting drunk and weepy about his life to you like you’re a therapist. you wanted the parents you could trust to love you no matter what.
why does she get those parents and not you? why didn’t you deserve that mom and dad? why weren’t you enough for them to want to change? what did you do wrong?
I think it's important to note that I do believe Orym wasn't totally thinking straight when he nodded to Laudna. Because if he'd have been thinking straight, he'd have gotten in front of her and then very efficiently killed Bor'dor himself, and he'd have still been correct for it. Hope this helps. 😌
idk if it's just me but... paul looks so broad and tall ??? i am just melting 🫠 i knew he was tall but idk, this is doing things to me 😮💨
(also his hair looks so cute & messy, i love it 🤭)

When Steve and Eddie start dating Eddie gets insanely jealous. Not of people who are looking at Steve or girls that flirt with him. Everyone flirts with Steve, and his amazing boyfriend never gives them so much as a second glance. No Eddie is jealous in an incredibly specific, incredibly silly way
He is jealous of Wayne and Steve.
Or rather he’s envious of the easy way they bond. It feels so stupid, he should be happy that they get along, but it’s the way that Steve seems to just fill all these gaps that Eddie and Wayne might have. He’s into sports, he likes to drink beer, and Steve doesn’t endless chatter to Wayne about things he doesn’t really care about. They can sit together in silent companionship, where Eddie can’t stand the quiet for more than thirty seconds.
He tries to make sure they’ll never know, because the rational part of him is happy that they get along. He’s happy that Steve has another person he can lean on, and he’s happy Wayne has another kid to love, and they all feel like a family. He just isn’t used to sharing Wayne, and he will get over that. Hopefully before either of them notice how hurt Eddie gets when he sees them laughing at some joke he will never find funny.
about 15 minutes until the return of Liam (and therefore Orym) after one of the most traumatic episodes in BH history. this man has been cooking for 3 weeks,,,
anyway anyone else getting that anticipation anxiety that freezes you between wanting to shut down your pc for the night and refreshing twitch every 5 seconds?
I just wanna say, I am so sorry Liam O’Brian. Rolled so poorly all night, doesn’t know what happened to Caleb and he was restrained the entire time, he got to see Vax again and he was so excited for Vax only to watch him die again in a much more painful way.
