This is aperture au: an AU made up by Will (@boo-cool-robot, who did most of the plot and writing) and me (visuals) where Magneto takes a teen Scott in before Xavier, and Scott’s subsequent radicalization causes him to undergo a schism with x-men leader/lover jean after he eventually joins the team. Because if you really love characters, you just want them to have an ideological divorce!

The au is named after the code-name scott is given by magneto, which he returns to after the events of this comic (Aperture–like an opening for light to pass through, a focus in a lens.)

Page 1

Panel 1: Scott and Jean explore a grim, industrial, apparently abandoned basement lab. Jean inspects a peeled back vent cover. Scott bends down to open a filing cabinet drawer. Jean: "This is too clean to have been opened by a crowbar. Almost looks like how I would have used my TK a few years ago."

2: Scott leans back, back of his fist to his mouth in shock. He says: "Marvel Girl, you need to see this. Use my eyes. Please."

3: Jean turns, using her telepathy to look at the file Scott has found. Her telepathic eyes see what he sees. There is a Polaroid of young Scott and Alex. Alex smiles at the camera, while Scott holds his brother and glances away. Alex's file describes him as 'Yearly tag and release'.

The other page in the file has a letterhead reading “Home for Foundlings” and a logo depicting an abstract parent and child, forming a red diamond shape. Cut-off text reads, “Summers, Scott/Seong-Mi/S-...Impaired expressive speech and sound sensitivity worsened after 3 days of social ostracism from peers…electroconvulsion. Energy generation potential unaffected. Continued social impairment, likely auti…”

Scott has already turned toward a door, frowning.

4: Jean puts a comforting hand on Scott’s shoulder while he turns away from her. Scott (Telepathically): "I used to remember having a brother. He told me I was just confused, that I’d imagined him." Jean (Telepathically): "Who told you that?" Scott reaches to open the door. Scott (Out loud): "I don’t know, it was all…"

5: Scott, quietly: "Sinister."

They have stepped through into the next room, where Mister Sinister’s silhouette looms in the foreground, breaking the barriers between the three columns. Jean puts her arm out in front of Scott to shield him. Scott has shrunk in on himself.

Page 2:

Panel 1: Scott has his arms crossed. Jean, glowing with telepathy, puts a hand next to Mister Sinister’s head where he lies between scott and jean. Jean: "He can’t hear us. He’s in some kind of psionic trance. His body is here, but his mind is on the Astral Plane."

2: Scott: "So he’s vulnerable." Jean is startled: " What?" Scott: "We could end him here. Before he gets to-- anyone else. Before he gets to Alex again."

3: Jean’s telepathy flares, she is confused, but stubborn. Jean: "We’re X-Men, we can’t just kill someone defenseless. We won’t get anything out of him if he’s dead." Scott faces her, angry and disbelieving. Scott: "You really think if you [Telepathically: implicate, integrate] ask him, he’ll say anything that those files out there don’t?"

A figure approaches through the open doorway, obscured by Jean and Scott’s world bubbles.

4: Jean’s telepathy flare is the strongest yet. She is hurt, beseeching. she says: "The Professor taught us to give people chances. He gave you a chance when you joined the team." Scott is quietly angry. Scott: "Maybe if he were smarter, he wouldn’t have. You wouldn’t–..." Jean: "Are you saying you shouldn’t be here with me?"

The figure gets closer, raising a board to her shoulder.

5: The figure is revealed to be madelyne pryor, wearing the marvel girl dress, as she swings a board at Sinister’s head. She hits him with a “KRAK”. Telepathy flares out from Sinister’s form and from the panel as he’s hit. Jean and Scott watch her, Jean’s mouth open in shock, her telepathic eyes watching from Scott's eyes as well, while Scott looks untethered.

Page 3: Mads is in the middle column.

Panel 1: Jean and Scott reach their hands out towards Mads. Mads has her hands up in front of her. They are all frozen in place. Scott [Telepathically]: "Who is she?"

Mads [TP]: "I can hear them."

Jean [TP]: "She looks like me." Mads [TP]: "I was supposed to be her."

Scott [TP]: "She killed him. That could have been Jean." Jean [TP]: "Scott thinks it should have been me."

2: Mads flees past Scott, who is still frozen. Jean turns as Mads runs, half reaching out toward her. Mads [TP]: "I can’t be her. I can’t be here." The thoughts become disjointed, unattached from the people who are thinking them, hanging in the air of the room.

3: Scott runs after Mads. The unattached thoughts begin to fill the space between him and Jean: "I can’t be her, That could have been me, I can’t be here". Jean watches Scott, frozen in place, and starts to cry. Telepathic energy comes off her in waves. Scott [TP]: "That could have been Jean."

"I can't be here" repeats until it goes through the bottom of the panel and into the next panel.

4: Jean is still frozen, crying. Her hands are pressed to her head as she is crowded by the telepathic thought bubbles surrounding her. She gets stuck on bubbles repeating over and over:

"I can’t be here, I can’t be here, I can’t be here."

Page 4:

Panel 1: Jean is still surrounded by thought bubbles. She reaches into the middle pane and tears a black rip through it, telepathically and with her hands. Her head and hands flare with telepathy. The edges of the rip burn like fire. She is still crying, angry.

2: Thought bubbles disappear. Jean’s head is snapped back by the force of telepathic feedback. The black rip spreads wider, telepathic flame at edges, continuous with the previous panel.Scott, chasing Mads outside the lab, trips forward. Both Jean and Scott are losing control of their bodies, falling.

3: Jean and Scott both fall to the ground, unconscious, as the rip in the page spreads wider.

Love your romy talking about how Rogue and Gambit aren’t officially together and Rogues anxiety’s etc

but I noticed you mention Gambitys self esteem issues and though I agree with you I’m curious what brought you to that conclusion. What makes it seem like Gambit has them cause I think the cartoons and comics or even fandom don’t go out of their way to point it out often

Gambit has been shown to have an incredibly low sense of self for himself for his past actions & how he struggles with it, ultimately believing that he's not good enough especially for Rogue since he sees her as a true good soul who always strikes for what's right. He knows his past isn't a smooth road & he's done things he regrets, some he may not as much as the others. All of that combined with what happened with Belladonna, with his upbringing as the son of the thieves guild leader, growing up on the street being labeled a white devil, makes him believe he's not worth redemption.

All of that said, he wants to believe he can be and is good. Rogue as of right now in the show isn't aware of everything Gambit has done or been through so seeing how she believes that Magneto should be given the chance at redemption with everything he's done, it bothers him and cuts him deep. The scene in episode 3 where he saw Rogue with Magneto showcases his insecurities that he isn't worthy enough for redemption, that Rogue won't give him the same compassion she's given to Magneto and ultimately he's exactly how he thinks of himself.

I'll add a few panels i think highlight his self deprecation below as examples for you! I really love the complexities Gambit has towards himself and how that represents him as a character because he's so much more than what many people choose to show him as.

Some recs for adult animation I enjoy:

People always seem to think I only watch kids' shows, so here's a list of animated television shows I adore, that were all made with adults in mind:

King of the Hill - Genuinely didn't think I'd like it, but I actually really love it? I expected something that was basically just The Simpsons or Family Guy, but got a surprising amount of emotional depth from the main cast. Bobby Hill is my son boy.

Futurama - I am legally obligated to list Futurama. I have watched the entire series so many fucking times. I'm going to watch the reboot and we all know it.

Disenchantment - It's more than just "Futurama medieval fantasy" but tonally, they are pretty similar. I enjoy it immensely. Bean is a #bicon, and that's fucking canon <3

Samurai Jack - The original show aired as a kids' show, but the revival apparently put it into the adult category. I haven't gotten that far yet, but holy shit, it's so good so far. Even the "kids' show" part is pretty mature, imho.

Bob's Burgers - I fucking love Bob's Burgers. I need to catch up on the more recent seasons. A sitcom that DOESN'T have parents who clearly hate each other? Whaaaat?

Harley Quinn - I'm not caught up, and there are aspects I have critiques of, but overall, it's been fun as fuck. I LOVE this interpretation of Ivy so fucking much.

Metalocalypse - My dad's a metal musician, so this was on in my house all the time when I was a teenager. I haven't watched it in *years* but I still reference the early seasons in conversation constantly. The Duncan Hills will wake you, motherfuckers.

Big Mouth/Human Resources - They are better than you think they are, and the "ugly style" reminds me of classic Klasky-Csupo. Compare it to Rugrats and tell me it doesn't have similar caricature styles. Story-wise, it nails the exact blend of panicked awkwardness I felt as a disaster tween, it has SO MANY queer characters. They dramatically improved on their more problematic aspects after getting called on it in seasons 1 and 2. And Human Resources made me sob like a little baby in the episode with Kieth from Grief.

BoJack Horseman - Starts off as a goofy gross-out humor sitcom but very quickly becomes a serious drama. Incredibly heavy and dark, but holy shit the catharsis. Delves into a lot of musings about morality, celebrity culture and Hollywood, generational trauma, and the perpetuation of cycles.

Tuca & Bertie - Goofy slice-of-life about characters navigating their 30s. Lots of musings about family, trauma, sexual abuse, queer dating in your 30s, friendship, and trying to survive it all. I relate so fucking much to the main cast.

Magical Girl Friendship Squad - It's a magical girl cartoon about milennials. Their magical girl weapons are birth control pills and a bong. It's fucking amazing. I'm really sad nobody else seems to have heard of it. :(

Little Demon - Sitcom about the Devil's daughter. Unsure if it's going to get a season 2, since it's about to get taken completely off of Hulu. Still worth watching if you can, because it's so fucking good. Centers on a teenage girl navigating Being A Teenage Girl while also dealing with her dad being the Devil and her mom being a traumatized mess who's figuring her own shit out.

Q-Force - The advertising did this show so fucking dirty. It was genuinely fucking funny, and it was clearly made with love. This isn't straight people making fun of us, this is queer people making queer comedy. Watch it.

Arcane - Arcane's politics are all over the place and I am in my "Silco Was Right" corner, which is right next to the "Magneto Was Right" clubhouse. But goddamn, the animation is gorgeous and the story is intense.

The Legend of Vox Machina - I haven't watched Critical Role, so I can say with confidence that this show is fucking amazing even if you have zero interest in the original gameplay streams. Fantasy animation for grownups, where they can show blood and titties, my beloved. <3

Hello! 👋 Could you list some of the best comic books that explore the Rogue/ Magneto relationship?

Hey there!!! 👩‍🚀 Oh gosh! With pleasure! I might be a bit rusty because I haven’t gone through older Marvel comic books in a while and also because I am not up to date with the recent years of X-Men comics BUT there are still a couple of issues that are very dear to me when it comes to Rogue & Magneto, so happy to share:

It all started in the year 1981:

1. Uncanny X-Men #269 ; Uncanny X-Men #274 & Uncanny X-Men #275 (1981, Written by Chris Claremont) [The story is pretty self-contained to these 3 issues and it all starts with Rogue realising that her Ms. Marvel powers are gone and Carol Danvers somehow has her own body now. (a very simplified context of what was going on in that era with the X-Men) I absolutely love Rogue in these issues. She has sass and personality, and she still carries a lot of her energy from the 80s.]

2. X -Men Volume 2 (Issues #1 - #3) - (1991, Chris Claremont) [They meet again after the events in the Savage Land, now on opposite sides.]

3. Magneto Rex: Issues #1- #3 - (1999, Joe Pruett) [This miniseries… is a bit weird and needs some context. It’s at a time where Marvel really wanted to have Magneto return to his evil ways and be a villain for the X-Men (regardless if it made sense or not). Not one of my favourites and generally can live without but it’s a ‘next stop’ in their interactions, so adding it to the list.]

4. Then we have X-Men Legacy! ( 2008, Mike Carey) [This one is a chonker, and to make things worse it is connected with other series running at the same time. It has pieces of Rogue and Magneto through the entire run but all in all, the story sees them reunite under the same team in Utopia (starting with Legacy #231). The full run of Legacy can be difficult to follow up on but if you have the time, it’s really worth it. It’s also the first story in YEARS where Rogue is allowed to shine and do her own thing. If you need a more detailed list of what issues are really worth reading, in what order and what is happening in between them let me know and will be happy to write down a breakdown!]

5. Memorable mentions in the main series: There are quite a few tiny bits about them in the comic books but here’s a list of issues that give more context to how they interact and how they feel about each other:

a. Marvel Fanfare #33 - (1982, Chris Claremont. I love Rogue in this one and it’s such a nice example of what a good and powerful duo they can make. Something that is later explored in Legacy as well. b. Legacy #223 (during Rogue’s journey to control her powers) we have a glimpse of how she remembers and sees Magneto’s presence in her life. c. Magneto #10 (2014, Cullen Bunn) - Similarly, a glimpse into Magneto’s mind on how he remembers Rogue and the impact their connection in the Savage Land had on him. d. Mr & Mrs X #6 (2019) - there is a page between Rogue and Magneto where, in all that mess, at least Magneto’s honest feelings for her and his care for her happiness shine through.

And last but not least, Age of Apocalypse. [This is a completely separate timeline that the comic books liked to visit from time to time. In this universe Rogue and Magneto are pretty much in love and married but… it’s a very tragic universe. Original series started in 1995; then it got revisited in 2005 and again in 2015… I think? The series… is far from perfect, there are so many things that can be described as unhinged (dialogue included) but, there is so much love for these two characters and I absolutely recommend it if you are ok with investing some time into reading it, and most of all if you are ready for a real heart break (again and again).]

🚨Spoilers for episode 5 of X-men’97🚨

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT HUUUHHUUHH I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE A GAMBIT EPISODE BECAUSE OF THE TITLE BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING what too much that’s for sure. Jean? Logan? Scott? Erik? Cable?!Rogue?!? GAMBIT?!?! I’m tweaking so bad I can’t. Well first off I loved the episode but I’m also going a little insane. IS HE DEAD?!? He can’t be dead, that just can’t happen, wake up Gambit. Is sacrifice was awesome but after all the Rogue and Gambit stuff that happened this episode? Wellll they did say that they were just going to be friends because MAGNETO WANTS TO GET MARRIED but erm it was still clear that after the dance with her and Magneto that she does NOT have feelings for him and is rather just torn because she has feelings for Gambit but can only touch Erik. AUGAHAHS AND THAT SPEECH SHE GAVE?!? Well it wasn’t really a speech but the conversation between her and Gambit, that was crazy. Nightcrawler being my man and helping us Rogue and Gambit shippers out but it’s sad we didn’t get much of her and Nightcrawler. Okay okayyyy so at least we’re not getting Rogue and Magneto because of the end of the dance “some things are deeper than skin” AUSFHAHEYGAHAGGAHAYGSHAJ Erik, hate to be like this, but it lowkey feels like he’s manipulating Rogue due to the fact that she can only touch him and he’s using that to get her to himself. Alsoooo I guess he’s just given up on his dead wife lol and I never thought he loved her I just kinda thought he was using the sexy 20 somethin yo because she hawt and all but I guess we’re jumping straight to the L word lol. AUSFHAHSGA Remy please don’t be goneeee, you can’t be, you can’t just do that, I mean we already got Xavier (well kinda) at least he has his spirit with em and is in space with his space soulmate or whatever. Erm oh yeah Erik might also be dead butttt…. That’s not really what I’m worried about. LOGAN AND JEAN WHAT ATE YOU DOING, I look away from my happy little married couple for 3 minutes and they’re off doing this, then the minute I look back to Rogue and Gambit HES DEAD. They goin craaazy right now and I don’t know how to handle it. I’m shaking, screaming, tweaking and all of the above. Okay let’s get the list of things we can celebrate about

-Rogue definitely doesn’t have feelings for Magneto (nice nice haha)

-Rogue has feelings for Gambit but is just very conflicted because she can’t touch him (TOO BAD HES DEAD)

-And lastly this is the Marvel universe and death is never the end soooo (but even if he is dead that’s a pretty sick way to go)

too close to the sun, by joshriku: 3, 683 words, charles pov, canon compliant to Jean Grey #1 (2023) (i think it's better to read the issue first, but it's not really necessary)

Jean Grey erases Magneto's mind - or so she thinks. When Charles finds his body, he brings it back to the mansion, and begins the arduous task of putting Erik's mind together. Of course, when it comes to Erik and persevering, it's always a lot more effective than he expects.

To Breathe Again (Impossibilities Remix), by Unforgotten: Erik's pov from the original movies timeline. The old men are old!!! It's a 3,879 words oneshot and it's beautiful

After Liberty Island, you think you must have burned that bridge at last. After Alkali Lake, you're even more certain. What once seemed so easy is now an impossibility, and the dream that once plagued you no longer comes.

Then Charles dies and you know: Going home was never truly impossible until now.

This is not easily described by a single genre methinks

superposition, by borninsideatornado: The racer car driver au! This one has some angst yes, but it didn't feel right to put it in the angst category bc there's so much more to it! This story is about healing. It's also about racing cars. And it's also a romance ! Charles and Erik have an amazing dynamic, but then so does Erik and Emma, Erik and Pietro (the father and son are father and son'ing!) and the entire team tbh. Really fun to read!

Remaking "Wolverine & the X-Men" (Full version)

(NOTE: This is a repost of my last two posts put into one. I will eventually be deleting the two seperate posts. Ans U aksi recently posted the roster and costumes for my revision. You can find it here.)

You'd be SHOCKED to learn I'm still uncovering old Reddit accounts. Last year, following my rewrite of "X-Men: Evolution," I made a remake of "Wolverine and the X-Men." I actually loved this show growing up, though I realized how it kinda got caught up in that Wolverine-centric era that swept the 21st century, as every filler episode was about him, and other characters were usually only important for a couple episodes at most. That said, the voice-acting and overall premise was compelling! One major change I did was keep the show X-Men-centric rather than involving other properties. Here's my take on it, which is biased, of course. BTW, I couldn't find the detailed plot for the episodes after "Overflow," so after that, my notes are much shorter and basic.

Hindsight (Part 1)--Jubilee, Manifold, and Kid Omega are a part of the roster, while Angel is present with the X-Men before the incident (not an actual member, but still semi-involved), his relationship with Storm being mentioned here. Kid Omega senses something, only to experience the same pain as Jean and Professor X. Beast is actually working on repairing the mansion rather than being concerned about how the destruction was caused for the moment (because in the end, he wasn't even the one who found out how it was caused anyway), with Jubilee running into Logan and helping him rescue the family. It's also revealed she was raising a young mutant named Shogo, who's living in hiding with Chamber, who she's romantically involved with. Several other mutants are recruited, but Logan doesn't force them to be involved with the fight, instead offering the mansion as shelter.

2. Hindsight (Part 2)--Gambit replaces Blob as a member of the Brotherhood (again, I don't hate Blob, I just wanted more Gambit), while Jubilee helps the X-Men face off against the Prowler, and both her and Beast try to convince Angel to join the X-Men, with Jubilee asking about how his relationship with Storm is since she went back to Africa, and he replies that he hasn't heard from her much and it's implied that he feels very alone. Jubilee reminds him that the X-Men will always be there for him. While Jubilee attempts to go with Logan to recruit Cyclops, he insists that he does it alone--which she jokingly mocks him for when it fails. Rather than being just caught up on Jean, Scott is depressed over how he was the unofficial leader of the X-Men and so much has gone wrong. Angel is with the X-Men at the manufacturing plant rather than with his father, hoping to better protect him. Jubilee sees Domino, but can't give chase in time, and after the situation goes south, Warren quickly changes back, temporarily worried that his involvement with the team didn't help as much as they thought, at least not as Angel.

3. Hindsight (Part 3)--Angel continues to help the X-Men as Warren, though Beast tells him that he's no more responsible for the incident at the plant than anyone else. When Emma Frost arrives, she persuades the X-Men to let her join by revealing that she found Kid Omega, who eagerly rejoins the institution. She reveals that after the X-Men disbanded, he joined her at Massachusetts Prep. Since Bobby is gay (and out) and Angel is with Storm, they aren't as flirty/awestruck by her--at least not in a thirsty way. Jubilee joins Wolverine in trying to recruit Cyclops again, and when he asks if Magneto has Jean, Jubilee says it's a possibility that he may know where she is. Kid Omega notices that Emma Frost could very well be manipulating Cyclops, but doesn't comment. The rest of the episode plays out the same.

4. Overflow--Plays out essentially the same, but Angel is convinced to come to Africa to help save Storm, causing Storm's power to become much more destructive. Quentin and Emma work together to battle the Shadow King in the astral realm, with Emma noting how Quentin's powers have grown.

5. Thieves' Gambit--Instead of Gambit, it is Daken who is hired to steal Forge's inhibitor collar. (At this point, he's mostly over his angsty feelings against Wolverine, but is still morally ambiguous.) Magneto instructs Quicksilver to have Gambit retrieve the collar before it falls into the wrong hands, and Rogue joins him at his request. A team made of Wolverine, Shadowcat, Iceman, and Storm also give chase, eventually getting the collar back (though not before Daken flirts with Iceman and something is hinted at).

6. X-Calibre--Plays out mostly the same, though perhaps with flashbacks to Nightcrawler's childhood that explain his own feelings of isolation and confusion. Lockheed, Sage, Rictor, and Shatterstar are also aboard the ship and help Nightcrawler fight.

7. Wolverine vs. Hulk--it's COMPLETELY different, with the episode (which I call Operation Recruit) focusing on Nick Fury recruiting Eden Fesi, AKA Manifold. While he hesitates, the X-Men arrive to re-recruit him as well, this particular team being made of Wolverine, Jubilee, Shadowcat, Kid Omega, and Beast. It's implied that they also sought him out because he was a teleporter. Meanwhile, Emma Frost helps Scott work through his memories with Jean, playing into some (but not all) of "Breakdown."

8. Time Bomb--plays out the same, though Psylocke officially joins the Brotherhood, and Gambit tells Rogue that he'll stand by her regardless of what side she picks, revealing his feelings for her.

9. Future X--No notes.

10. Greetings from Genosha--plays out the same, but with a big change: everyone knows who Mystique is. Felt weird the X-Men didn't know her but knew other villains. As such, Mystique and Kurt have a bit more of a compassionate conversation before she knocks him out, and she expresses regret.

11. Past Discretions--major change here, introducing Fantomex in place of Maverick. Professor X would reveal to Logan that he and Jean had met Fantomex when he was fleeing from authorities years ago, but due to not being able to read his mind, they assumed he was an enemy and ignored his help, a decision both of them regretted. Eventually Fantomex was captured once more by Weapon Plus and brainwashed into a soldier. Wolverine manages to break his hold on Fantomex and find out a little more about his own past. While Fantomex becomes an ally to the X-Men, he doesn't fully join them, as Wolverine tells him to play a low profile and Fantomex wants to become a master theif, albeit promising to leave the X-Men out of it.

12. eXcessive Force--Plays out the same way, no notes.

13. Battle Lines--Plays out the same, though Gambit joins the X-Men with Rogue.

14. Stolen Lives--Mystique and Daken alert Wolverine that Fantomex is in danger once more, and he brings Emma Frost, Rogue, Manifold, and Iceman for backup (actually they follow him, but semantics!). Daken and Wolverine work through middling issues while Iceman and Daken begin an official relationship, albeit shaky given their differing allegiances (similar to Shadowcat and Avalanche in XME but a bit more mature/sobered). Meanwhile, Storm and Angel take the time to help Shadowcat, Kid Omega, and Beast hone their reflexes in the Danger Room, with Forge even getting a bit of training.

15. Hunting Grounds--plays out very similar, except we actually see Wolverine get kidnapped, with Longshot making an appearance to help them against Wolverine.

16. Badlands--essentially plays out the same, but it's implied (not too heavily since it's a "kid's show") that Nocturne was born shortly before the destruction of Genosha, with her having been with Polaris at the time. It shifts the timeline a bit, but oh well. In the end, Nocturne also joins Xavier's team. Other than that, it plays out the same.

17. Code of Conduct--Everyone can hate me all they want, but since this doesn't do anything for Wolverine's character and serves as a juxtaposition with the mutants vs humans subject matter, I just decided to change it. Instead, I call it Waiting in the Wings and instead focuses on Jean's recovery in the hospital and Angel's feelings about joining the X-Men, with his father threatening to cut off the funds he's been giving mutants if they do so, with Storm and Jubilee telling him that they understand his responsibilities, though Angel quietly decides to join the X-Men.

18. Backlash--plays out the same.

19. Guardian Angel--Mostly the same, but more emphasis on Storm, as she's Angel's girlfriend. It's also revealed he had planned to create X-Corps, leading to the fight with his father. (Note: If I make a second season, Archangel, Polaris, Sunfire, and Colossus are the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.)

20. Breakdown-–since Emma went over some of Cyclops’ memories in “Operation Recruit,” Cyclops is starting to get closure, possibly gaining feelings for Emma. However, as she continues to probe his mind, they realize Jean’s been inhabited by the Phoenix around the middle of the episode. Kid Omega is around during this and sees that Emma had some involvement in the destruction of the mansion, and she renders him unconscious, kidnapping him and escaping the mansion which leaves everyone to believe they’ve both been kidnapped. Meanwhile, Jean’s powers are slowly becoming more and more powerful, and her memories of the X-Men (particularly Cyclops) slowly returning.

21. Rover-–While most of the episode plays the same, Professor X flashbacks to the Phoenix personality sealed inside of Jean’s mind, as well as revealing members of the Hellfire Club. They chastise Emma for bringing Quinton with her, though they help her in keeping him unconscious. She states it’s better he’s under their supervision rather than aid the X-Men, hoping to alter his mind to erase his suspicions of her and restore his admiration for her. Unbeknownst to Emma, they reveal that due to Quinton’s untapped potential, if things “go south,” Kid Omega will be their next candidate to possess the phoenix.

22. Aces & Eights-–Sees Daken going to take Magneto’s helmet, though with reservations given the events of “Stolen Lives.” Using his pheromone control, he manipulates Polaris into helping him, though frequently flashbacks to Bobby. Other than that, it’s the same–though since Gambit isn’t involved, maybe call the episode “Metal vs. Metal”? I do like the idea of a B-story with Manifold, Iceman, Jubilee, Shadowcat, and Nightcrawler trying to have a normal day, albeit contemplating what the future holds and what that means for them, with Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, and Iceman lamenting relationships that may never get the chance to grow. (Shadowcat has a crush on Colossus, but being in Russia, they haven’t gotten to talk much).

23. Shades of Grey-–Wolverine, Cyclops, and Storm track down Jean following the psychic wave she emitted (that thankfully didn’t reach them). Emma leaves to kidnap her, though is intercepted by Angel. They battle each other while Storm manages to momentarily cause Warren to pause. Emma, realizing no one suspects her of betrayal, goes with the X-Men to bring Jean back to the mansion, letting the HC know. Wolverine is suspicious of Emma, and while the two are distracted, Angel causes the car to crash and kidnaps Cyclops and Jean. Similar to the OG version, the X-Men defeat Sinister’s crones and Emma captures Jean in the end, though she feels guilt after seeing how relieved Cyclops was that Emma had returned.

24. Foresight (Part 1)-–plays out similarly, though Emma feigns being kidnapped along with Jean. Quinton wakes up, and despite having some of his power being unlocked by Selene and the Stepford Cuckoos, subdues them before the phoenix force within Jean renders him unconscious. Other than that, it plays out the same.

25. Foresight (Part 2)–-no notes, except that Kid Omega helps to battle the HC alongside Emma and Cyclops.

26. Foresight (Part 3)-–Plays out the same, though there’s a battle where Quinton absorbs some of the phoenix force and battles the Stepford Cuckoos before the power overwhelms all six of them. Along with this, Daken formally leaves Kelly’s employment. If I ever do a season 2, I may retcon Emma’s death.

I'll probably flesh these out more later!
