X-men 97 Love

I have been a big X-men fan for a long time and so excited that the new show is back on! Good job, Marvel! You have tapped into this well of X-men love out there and are doing a great job! I don't know who will read this but I am going to spell out some things I love about the new show.

First of all, the animation is great. It honors and matches up with the 90s cartoon so that there is the continuity and nostalgia factor, but it isn't bad or cheesy. I personally love the 90s and am here for some hard core 90s nostalgia that the show creators and makers understand.

Secondly, I am a huge Rogue fan and to make my girl a main player and the heart of its romantic storyline is amazing. I read Rogue fanfics and etc. and I think she is such a strong and complex character so I love this for her. She truly is a Queen and one could say the beating heart of the X-men. Jean is the head of the X-men and an important, strong character, but Rogue is who makes the X-men feel like a family. The writers allude to this when Magneto is trying to convince her that she will be a good queen- she's empathetic. She's a strong mutant not just for her flying and super strength powers, but because her powers allow her to truly feel what others feel. Jean and other telepaths may read your mind, but Rogue's power goes deeper into memories and feelings.

Thirdly, I love the writing in this show. The writing is deep and complex, but the storylines are clear and simple enough for a child to follow. To start the show with a title like "To me, my X-men" and being said by Scott and Magneto in two different ways is genius. And to have lines like "It is human nature to crave connection, as it is also mutant nature." and "There is no love without sin. Love is best measured in what we forgive!" Brilliant!

I am super impressed by what I have seen so far and can't wait for the rest!
