Summary: In anticipation of my first dress purchase in 7(+) years, here's a fic about Ramona giving my s/i the exact same dress I ordered. :0)

A warm summer breeze wafted through the open windows of Ramona’s duplex as she sorted through her expansive wardrobe. One of her current boyfriends, Cola, had come over to help with the task as well, and now returned to her room from getting a Mello Yello from her fridge.

“How’s it coming along, ‘Mona?” They asked, sipping on their soda.

“I don’t think we’re even halfway through,” she sighed as she compared two similar pairs of shorts.

“Hey, at least we’ve got the categories sorted out, right?” Cola tapped the sticky notes labelling each pile: donate, garbage, upcycle, keep, never worn… it set its drink aside and dived into the closet, brushing his hand over all the different textures of Ramona’s garments. “Man, you always have the cutest shit…”

Ramona smiled. “I know. You compliment me all the time.”

“Yeah, because you’re my girlfriend, and that’s my job. To bask in your inherent beauty and good taste.” They turned around to glimpse the sure blush on her round cheeks, then turned again as a dress caught their eye. They plucked it off of the hanger rod and brought it out into the light. “Does this one still fit you?”

It was a short, white number with lacy details and off-the-shoulder puff sleeves. A small, cross-shaped detail situated under the bust glittered in the afternoon sun rays.

“I honestly forgot I had it,” Ramona set down the shorts on their respective piles and took the dress from her partner, holding it up to her body and looking at her reflection in her full-length mirror. She turned slightly, eyeing how the fabric lay against her curves. “It might. I’m not sure if I still want it, though.”

She handed it back to Cola, who seemed mesmerised by the garment. “I haven’t worn a dress in ages. I stopped because, you know, I didn’t feel like much of a man, wearing them and being shaped the way I am…”

“You can try it on if you want.” She then pointed to Cola’s soda can. “Can I have a sip?”

“Yeah, sure,” Cola smiled and handed it to her, their eyes sparkling. “A-and… you mean it?”

“Of course.”

“Well… alright! Best do it now and not like how it looks than not do it and regret it later.” Cola laid the dress on Ramona’s bed, removing the hanger, and set to stripping away its Weezer tank top and jean shorts, leaving itself in a black sports bra and white boxers.

“Here, I’ll help you. Arms up, and take off your glasses,” Ramona instructed, setting aside the can and reaching for the dress. Blushing, Cola did as it was told. Bunching up the thin fabric, Ramona laid it at Cola’s feet. He stepped into it and allowed her to pull the dress up his body, adjusting it as needed so that it looked right on him. He slipped his arms into the cuffs and anxiously pressed his palms down on the skirt of the dress, completely red in the face. Ramona smirked and handed him his glasses.

“W-well?” Cola asked quietly, too anxious to look in the mirror.

“See for yourself,” Ramona hummed, gently turning him toward his reflection. Slowly looking up, it gasped, covering its mouth.

“Holy shit…”

“You are adorable, Cola.” She leaned over and pecked his cheek, making him bury his face in his hands in embarrassment.

“You’re sure I can keep this?” He asked softly after lifting his face and inhaling sharply.

“Yes, Cola, you can keep it, I’m not going to wear it. We can go on a date, you wear this and I’ll wear my blue dress.”

Cola giggled, twisting his short hair around his finger. “Oh, gee, that’d be…” He giggled again and cleared his throat. “Sounds like a plan. Why don’t we do it tonight, take a break from this clean out and get some dinner with Scott?”

Ramona nodded and kissed him again, on the lips this time. “I love you, Cola.”

“Love you, too, Rammy.”

Lesbian Weezer

Ok so last night I had a dream that is so fuckin strange and hilarious to me it made me realise that I really need to start documenting my dreams so I can remember them because I know for a fact I have some weird ass dreams that I can never remember for the life of me

Basically what I remember from the dream was I was for some reason at a Weezer concert (I have no idea why I was there I do not listen to Weezer) and for some reason literally the only people at the concert were very giddy lesbian artists who I’d assume were probably on the autism spectrum and probably also on tumblr

I have no clue what to make of this dream or how it even happened but holy shit is it just really funny to me, that dream is now the soul reason I plan to start documenting my dreams in the future because honestly I’m still giggling at how outlandishly out of nowhere the whole thing is lol :3

(Also sorry I haven’t been drawing much recently, art block has been being a really bitch and I’ve had no ideas of what to draw, I’ll try get back into drawing soonish i promise, also if people have requests for things they want me to draw I’d love to hear them :>)

My favorite cringe ass YouTuber

Favorite thing about them: This is going to be explained very poorly but I like how Luke is so blatantly a joke character who still manages to become very sympathetic the moment you learn more about him. He was supposed to be just a snobby annoying guy who brings his camera everywhere for content but his actor accidentally ended up making him too likable (and I’m genuinely glad he did) which really made the ending hit. He’s just some guy but he’s some guy who was trying to live on in his sister’s memory and now he has no one to live on for him. And he’s also a dogshit YouTuber. These two trains of thought exist simultaneously.

Least favorite thing about them: I love Luke but holy shit his camera dies at the worst times. I love looting through your footage as much as the next guy but I was in the middle of something (granted his battery is probably being sapped by Inscryption proximity but still).

Favorite line: I quote “Wow. Great video.” on a near-daily basis so that one’s my actual favorite, but I also love the lines he has when you beat Leshy the first time without the film roll and continue playing act 1. (Only posting this one but he has others like “Ugh, I’m so sick of this boss.” and an excited “Woo!” when you beat Leshy a second time)

(Bonus points to all the times he—fairly—responds to something with “What the fuck.” It makes me laugh if for no other reason than no one else in the game properly swears except for him).

brOTP: Luke and the Scrybes just because “completely normal guy placed amid the Weirdest People Imaginable” is a hilarious trope.

OTP: I honestly don’t ship Luke with anyone. I’ve joked about him accidentally making Inscryption into a dating sim before but that’s entirely a shitpost and (as stated prior) would just end in them all being buddies.

nOTP: Again I really don’t think there’s any ships I would actively say “no” to with Luke. Even if they’re not my thing personally I don’t actively hate any ships I’ve seen (then again I haven’t seen many).

Random headcanon: The elk-book in the background of his desktop setup is a card binder.

On a completely different note, I’d like to think that anyone who comes in long contact with Inscryption experiences (small) physical changes (as well as the obvious psychological damage) to sort of cement its presence as a “cursed object”. Unpopular opinion: Are there any unpopular opinions to be had about Luke?? I guess some people don’t like him and think he ruins immersion. I’m a Luke fan in that case, I’ll stay solid on that.

Song I associate with them: I was going to take the piss and put something by Weezer but my de-facto Luke song is BAD LUCK! by Jhariah. Bonus points though to Making Up Words by Bug Hunter which is also very Luke (albeit more surface-level).

Okay, I think I can write about last night's Anthony Green interaction now.

It was amazing and I am still kind of reeling from it.

So, I went to see Saosin, which has been one of my favorite bands for nearly twenty years (holy shit, I'm old as fuck) by myself. Being in Philly, it was a home show, so Anthony's family was there. On the way in, I saw his kids playing in the gated parking lot. It was incredibly sweet. I got an amazing spot, which turned out to have a view of everything. I could see the stage, the backstage doors, the lobby doors, all of it. Shortly before the opener started, Anthony snuck out to check on the lobby and I told him to break a leg. He gave me a really genuine smile and said thank you.

I figured if that was my only interaction, I would be eternally happy and it would be the coolest night I could ask for.

It got way better!

The show was unbelievable. I cannot even begin to express how good it was. I thought the highlight was going to be hearing some of my favorite songs-- songs that I never thought I would hear live again-- done by musicians who have grown and honed their talent over two decades. Then I thought maybe the best part would be Anthony's genuine and personal anecdotes and love for Philadelphia. I was wrong on both counts.

The best part of the show was, unquestionably, when Anthony's son, James, came out and played Weezer's Sweater Song on drums and the entire audience went completely wild. Every person in the room was scream-singing those lyrics like their lives depended on it. James killed it on the drums. He had it down. He is twelve and he had a whole venue chanting his name. It was awesome!

It is impossible to describe just how emotionally invested everyone in the audience was through the whole show. I can't think of another show I have been to that had so much love through the whole thing.

I got teary over the way that Anthony softly said "you made it" to the crowd surfers who had a rough time getting to the front.

Okay. So. After the show:

I decided to stick around. I figured that I didn't have anywhere to be, and there were three other very committed fans who were also determined to meet the band, so it was worth it to brave being out to all hours on the street. Why not? (Okay, lots of reasons why not, but whatever).

We waited for a little more than two hours.

After a while, a crew member came over and said that the band had told him to give us their picks. It meant so much. I figured that was our cue and called an uber. ...

And then Anthony came out.

Now, to be fair, he came out because he needed to find a bathroom and the venue was closed. I think this just makes the fact that he stopped to talk with us even nicer.

I got the chance to thank him for being so incredibly kind to me about sixteen years ago when we first met. He gave me some advice about finding a creative community now that I have moved to Philly. I gave him a tip about dealing with allergies from one vocalist to another. We talked about how much it rocks to play music with your family. We complained to each other about an event that is happening later this month that we are both attending, and talked about how neither of us really want to go, but we're going to anyway.

It was a really nice conversation. He went above and beyond.

I was too happy to try to look cool, so here's me smiling a great, big, incredibly dopey smile while he looks like the fucking rock star that he is.

The CSH pipeline (aka my downfall)(aka my favorite band ever)

Last year around June, I listened to Car Seat Headrest for the first time, I think starting with Sober to Death. I had seen mention of the band before in memes about it being "incel" "male manipulator" music, but it was associated with a lot of bands I already had an interest in. My first instinct when seeing that something is being shit on is to go and consume the media so I can judge for myself whether it's actually that bad or if the fanbase is just being characterized by a couple shitty fans and if it's being meme-ified like Weezer. This has lead me down some questionable paths but I ultimately like this way of consuming media because I do end up finding new stuff I enjoy without being restricted to what's popular. I started listening to Mitski because I saw a tumblr post about how people don't like her work. Idk. Anyways I loved Sober to Death and started listening to their other top songs to get a feel for it. I think I mainly just listened to Twin Fantasy and Teens of Denial at first, then ToS and MBIKMB after a while. I wasn't hardcore into it and I knew barely anything about the band except I had picked up somewhere that Will was a furry (I have zero idea when I learned this but at the time I thought it was the most hilarious thing I've ever heard). I was just focused on my other interests much more (you know how it is). Fun fact, my ex included "It's Only Sex" on our relationship playlist when we dated in March, which

1- is an absolutely insane red flag 2- proves I knew about the band earlier than I remember Flash forward to February. I must have seen CSH mentioned a lot more on tiktok or pinterest or something, because I suddenly had a lot of interest in it. Sometimes I get waves of "oh god i'm a fake fan for not knowing everything about this subject" and that spurs some manic search to CONSUME ALL. I started listening to every album available on spotify, learned about Will's pre-CSH projects, and was instantly hooked.

This guy had written songs that spoke to me in a way only several other artists had in the past. On top of that, he had lived less than an hour away from me for the majority of my life (until he relocated to Seattle in 2014), AND most of his music was written at the age I am now. There was something so personal to me about it. Obviously, it was a popular-ish band so it wasn't really underground or anything, but it wasn't known by everyone so I still had the opportunity to introduce it to my friends for the first time. That being said, I still got teased a bit for listening to "sad gay furry music" :/ Touché.

Anyways, I then learned about 1 Trait Danger. Oh boy. I had heard the "Timmis" sound going around on tiktok without realizing it. God Andrew Katz is amazing too. It was silly, it was stupid, it had a new plotline to follow for each album, there was a discord server, there were costumes, there was Will Toledo, there was SO MUCH TO LEARN. So naturally I joined the Patreon so now I get some sick behind the scenes video game development content.

Deeper into the rabbithole comes Cate Wurtz's comics, which are mentioned in several CSH songs, and generally help to contextualize Will's work. Holy Shit I love Crow Cillers. I only started reading it yesterday. I have yet to fully understand what's going on because there is such a mash up of themes. It's entirely possible I made a mistake and managed to skip some crucial lore, but I'll figure it out eventually. Ynce Iche is badass. Other things that this hyperfixation has caused me to get into:

Radiohead and Weezer. more stereotypical incel music but I D K

Costume design? I'm in the process of building a trait mask, and I will make another post about this because I need help!!

animation, possibly. I'm hoping to animate parts, if not all, of 1 Trait Bangers. I have no prior experience with animating so this will be.... fun...

video production. I am ALSO in the process of creating a series of tiktok style videos to all of twin fantasy. if each one is about a minute, I should have... 71 videos. 1 down, 70 to go! This is cool because I got to visit the spot in Harper's Ferry mentioned in BL-I-D.

CSH livestreams. I looove the acoustic sound. Do miss the other band members though. Lots of his covers have lead me to find new music as well.

Will Toledo's tumblr. I scrolled all the way to the bottom of it and i'm attempting to compile a playlist of every song he mentions on there.

Will Toledo's spotify monthly playlists. That funky guy is listening to soooo much welsh folk. This raises questions about what the possible new album will sound like, but I'm down for anything!

Andrew Katz's instagram reels. I love these funky little videos it's like a vine revival with all of our favorite band members.

Will Toledo's high school bands/comics. The Mr. Yay Okay facebook page is so blessed I love seeing shitty home video recordings of them playing with a Ouija board.

Pop culture references. I have been convinced to buy several books simply bc they were mentioned in a song or his tumblr. also I started NGE and I will eventually get to Twin Peaks.

It's going to be a busy couple of months in my house though, as I prepare for college. If I end up switching hyperfixations before I complete anything, I must apologize. AHHHH thank you!!! i’m so proud of it you have no idea. and i’m glad u agree with the weezer in there bc as i was making it i was like holy SHIT he’d absolutely blast bevery hills when it comes on the radio in whatever shitty car he bought while living in california. he’d eat that shit UP!! when i was picking out the songs i was thinking a lot about what sort of alternative music would be playing on radio stations or at coffee shops, because i think that’s the main way sam would find music as a nerdy college kid in the early 2000s. and one thing abt weezer is that they’ll make some radio-friendly alternative rock music that bangs like nothing else!! i also love that some of the songs are the same as ur samdean playlist bc there is definitely some songs sam listens to because they remind him of dean 😅 he heard i will follow you into the dark by death cab for cutie and had to go sit down for a minute

Day 5 of writing music in the middle of nowhere

Today was a pretty slow day. I didn’t play Animal Crossing today, and I went to a theme park not far from where I am staying. I don’t really like rides, so I don’t really know why I went there. I didn’t go on any rides. I did, however, use it as inspiration for one of my new songs. I actually made a list of my personal favorite albums. *only 1 album per artist

buddy holly by weezer came out in 1994 which would have been richie’s senior year of high school/freshman year of college and that song gives me major teenage richie vibes. it’s been a while since i read the book but i vaguely remember richie comparing himself to buddy holly ???? anyways i think he’d listen to that song and the chorus would come and he’d be like “holy shit that’s what i always say”

(also the line: “i don’t care what they say about us anyway, i don’t care about that”, is ABSOLUTELY him talking to eddie when they start dating and eddie is nervous about what people will think of them. richie “i don’t care what they say about us, i love you and thats all that matters”)
