Hey Raven, are you going to watch the upcoming new Disney movie "Wish"?

I've seen mixed reviews, but i'm lowkey excited since we get to see a new Disney villain, especially since Disney got really lame villains after all the old classic movies!

Have you seen the trailer for the movie? What are your thoughts so far?

I saw Wish with a friend recently! I'll give my thoughts on the trailers here (in case you don't want spoilers for the film itself) and put my full thoughts beneath the cut (if you're okay with spoilers).

Looks-wise, I think Disney was definitely trying to go for something more stylistic and painting-esque for this?? And while I commend the effort, it definitely doesn't look as interesting as Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish. The humor also definitely isn't for me, it feels very "quirky" and "so relatable" (Asha reminds me of Mirabel in that sense), and other times too juvenile (like the goat butt joke). I do like the idea of the villain passing as a good guy in-universe and actually being vain and selfish, especially since the marketing is making it clear who the bad guy is rather than making it a "twist" villain scenario. Not sure if I like Magnifico himself though??? All the ads with him in it feel like Disney is trying too hard to make people thirst for him. From just the trailers, Magnifico does seem interesting and like more of a return to the traditional "villain" rather than the protagonist having to deal with an existential dread or concept.

Right off the bat, my first impression is the narrative is SO ham-fisted. Within the first 5 minutes alone we're establishing so much information and in such a clunky, unnatural way. Like... Asha says hi to her friends but then they robotically have a dialogue where they overtly call each other "friends" just so it's clear to the audience (when in reality no one talks like that). It's telling instead of showing, and this happens sooo many times early in the film.

Could not for the life of me remember the friends or their names. There were just too many of them when 1 or 2 would have been just fine to move the plot along and to help Asha. (Yes, I know they're a reference to the 7 Dwarves but it's STILL not necessary to have so many just for a reference.)

Bruh, the makeup in this movie is on point. Every time there was a close up of a character, I was staring at their eye makeup (especially Asha and the queen's).

Asha as a protagonist was... fine? She feels very close to Mirabel and at times Rapunzel in her character. I didn't dislike her by any means, but she didn't reinvent what it means to be a Disney protag. Her motivations also come off as… really “out of nowhere”. We’re told she “cares too much”, but she initially only wants to save the wishes of her mom and grandpa; she randomly decides she has to free ALL wishes midmovie and that was jarring. There could have been a smoother transition. Instead, it was abrupt and Asha didn’t change in any meaningful way. Even her “I want” song was vague (what exactly is “to have something more for us than this”?) and didn’t connect well with her character.

I do really like her design though! Her freckles, earrings, and how her hair moves are my favorite details.

Valentino was not as annoying as I thought he would be. Still didn't care for his sass and brand of humor, but at least he helped out a few times.

I called it, the film is trying so hard to make Magnifico "hot" 🤡 I don't get it but okay, Mouse. I see your effort.

Loved his fit!! Very cool cloak and diamond/star motifs everywhere! His lab and study was also fun to look at.

I quite liked the moments when the queen talked to her husband and tried to smooth things over with him. “I can fix him energy”— Their relationship seemed very genuine at the start of the movie.

NOT THE WISH NEPOTISM...

If they were going for “sympathetic” with Magnifico, it didn’t work. He gave this backstory about how he was traumatized before + left as the only survivor of a great tragedy and so now he wants to use his magic to prevent that from happening to anyone else. Thing is, we only ever know about this via his word and staring at a half-burnt tapestry. We never see the event on screen, nor what was left of the tapestry. I was expecting a twist where it’s revealed that he lied all this time about his backstory and rewrote history so he could more easily manipulate the people of the kingdom he founded and live out the fantasy of being worshipped as a “good guy”. That was such a missed opportunity!!

Something else I was thinking of (this was during “This is the Thanks I get” was??? Maybe Magnifico started off genuinely good but became worn down over time as people’s wishes grew more selfish and they became ungrateful for what they had?? Then he could have become bitter and disillusioned by the behavior of his people.

Another idea is maybe Magnifico was “villainous” only in Asha’s eyes, since they don’t agree on how to best handle granting wishes. This would be more of a clash of ideologies rather than the traditional Obvious Evil vs Obvious Good that Disney is so known for, but hey, it could be a neat evolution of their storytelling from classic fairy tale roots.

This is to say that there were so many more interesting directions they could have gone with Magnifico’s motives, character, and portrayal 😭 but the second half of the movie never commits to any of these, they just blame his complete insanity and turn to the dark side on Forbidden Magic which is such a cop-out.

The trailers gave away the twist that Magnifico was the villain. It wasn’t revealed until like the second song into the movie. Would’ve worked better as an on-the-spot reveal rather than part of the marketing, in my opinion.

When they showed the wishes, the TWST fan in my was shouting, "OMG IT'S WISH UPON A STAR, THE LIMITED TIME STORY EVENT FROM THE HIT DISNEY MOBILE GACHA GAME TWISTED WONDERLAND!!!"

As Wish is Disney's anniversary film for 100 years, there were tooons of easter eggs scattered throughout. (I had fun looking for them!) Some were visual (I saw Aurora's dress, Snow White’s well, Peter's Pan's costume, Ursula's green smokey hands, Asha's robes resembling those of the Fairy Godmother, etc.) or extended imagery/scenes (Asha recreates Mulan's dinner and “Reflection" scenes), others were more overt lines of dialogue (Magnifico says the "Mirror, Mirror" lines along with others, a deer named “Bambi”, Valentino mentions an animal metropolis in reference to Zootopia, etc.).

In theory, the wish magic sounds cool but has so much that isn't explained??? And yeah, it's magic so it technically doesn't have to be. However, there are things not explained even when it is important to the plot. For example, Magnifico crushes some wishes and seems to absorb their power for himself (including the wish of Asha's MOM, so you'd think this would be important)? The consequence of this is that the wish's owners... become sad??? Okay, what are the long-term effects??? Why isn’t this fully explored?? But then later in the film we see the same people whose wishes were crushed... regenerate their wish??? So what, he has to keep reaping them??? And why are the wishes only taken at 18 years old? What if a wish changes? Ironically, the townspeople of Rosas have a scene where they question the technicalities of this wish magic. Magnifico essentially tells them to shut up, and it kinda felt like Disney was telling us to not question their lore www

It was weird that they never fully explored the ramifications of going without your wish. You’d think they’d show us people without ambition or hope (which would incentivize Asha to return their wishes), but everyone seems blissfully happy without their wishes?? The only exception is Asha’s friend that betrays her (cannot for the life of me remember his name), and that’s namely because his asshole friends keep ragging on him for it.

I thought the movie was going to go in a “you can make your own wish come true!!” direction but NOPE, turns out it’s just magic. Felt like Disney unintentionally wrote a whole movie about "wishes not coming true unless some big powerful entity allows it to come true” (Asha literally becomes the fairy godmother of Rosas at the end, making her ultimately no different than Magnifico)… ie a metaphor for how Disney owns so many properties it practically owns our childhoods www

"The power of friendship saves the day" ending 🤣 It was very Paper Mario ending-esque...

I was right about the humor. Too "quirky" and/or juvenile for me.

Animation was alright? Nothing awful about it, it just didn't feel as detailed or as experimental as other films with a similar style.

Songs were mid, which checks out with the recent Disney music excluding We Don't Talk About Bruno--

Some of the lyrics however were awful. “I let you live here for free and I don’t even charge you rent” is redundant. “So I throw caution to every warning sign” means you’ll show more caution than usual, not that you’ll forego caution. The correct expression is “throw caution to the wind”. Etc, etc, etc.

There was a cute after credits scene where they reveal that Asha's 100 year old grandpa (same age as Disney omg) wrote the "When You Wish Upon a Star" theme, which was sweet since his wish was "wanting to make a mark".

THE BEST PART OF THE MOVIE WAS STAR!! It was very cute (partly because it couldn't talk and just jingled and giggled, I was dreading another annoying mascot animal voice) and reminds me of my own pet… The way Star infused everything with glitter and formed unique shapes with the red twine was so fun 😭 I'M A STAR STAN, IT WAS ADORABLE AND KINDA BRATTY AND I'M LIVING FOR IT

Decent ideas, "meh" execution. Enchanted and Shrek did it better in terms of self-aware, fairy tale defying stories. It felt as though the movie was trying to deliver a profound message but got lost in the sauce of making as making Disney references possible and didn't fully commit to actually saying something meaningful. As a result, the film feels somewhat… hollow.

That one friend betraying Asha was the biggest surprise in the film but I still saw it coming 😂 I do get where he’s coming from though (being worried that his wish won’t ever come true) but it also felt like his conflict wasn’t resolved??? It might have gone better if the movie actually fully tried to push the “you can make your own wish come true” message (to reinvigorate the traitor to make his dreams a reality on his own) but they don’t 💦

Wish didn’t end up being “the wishing star’s origin story” because not once did anyone question where Star came from or why it was different from other stars (or what the significance of Magnifico blotting out the other stars was).

I think the people that would enjoy this movie are the people that are already highly invested in Disney and the nostalgia of it.

Honestly your blog and the way you write Jin is such a breath of fresh air, that's why I always come back to ask you stuff because I also learn or remember things from the lore that I forgot over the years lol. I soo agree with your post about Asuka's wasted potential.. man. She's one of my faves and she could be so much more but Harada just can't seem to do her justice. Like you say, she's a Kazama. She's not some random character. She's part of Jin's family, yet we don't see them interact. And the one time we see them together, my mans falls straight down to her chest 💀. Sometimes it kinda seems the Pachinko stuff have much more substance than the actual Canon things we got in game.

I saw a video of the girls (Asuka, Xiao, Miharu, Alisa, and I think Lili) fighting a giant mecha Heihachi lmao. And I was like??? Bruh. This is incredible. I want to see Asuka and Xiao kicking ass together. And then there's Jin on his bike looking at them like, nevermind. lol

YEAHHH. I'll just never understand the reason to write Asuka in such a way, or what's even the point of her character. Like, that never happened to Jun - Jun has always been written quite seriously. And yes, I know Asuka isn't a stoic like Jun is, nor is she a love interest of one of the main characters. But still! She's a Kazama nonetheless, and it's not like her concept is particularly silly or ridiculous. (See Alex or Roger) so, I really don't understand how her character just came to be fan service and comic relief.

AND LOOK - I know on this blog I often joke about Jin being a Mega Virgin and all that. But he's not THAT oblivious. Come on, he's still a 21 year old man. He'd understand why Asuka would be so upset at him for falling into his chest, even if it was an accident and he didn't intend to. He'd still realized what happened - instead of - INSTEAD OF QUESTIONING

It IS kinda funny how the Pachinko games do seem to have more substance. I haven't checked 'em out completely yet. But I mean, we do get Jin saving Asuka in an actual serious scene. Xiaoyu actually interacting with DJ, and I guess/think we see Jin actually fight Azazel? Like put that much effort into the actual games, please, lmao.

It would be actually cool to see Xiao and Asuka team up and interact. In fact, they could've done just that had they actually acknowledged that ASUKA HAS THE ABILITY TO REPEL THE DEVIL GENE. Like instead of introducing ANOTHER CHARACTER who supposedly can, with no connections to the Kazamas (Claudio) they could've had Xiao learn about Jun, then going to Asuka for help as she realized Asuka may have the same power. Upon hearing this, and how it can save the world as they know it, as well as their friend/family - Asuka agrees to come along with Xiao to track down Jin/DJ.

Hey!! I think a while back ago I gushed (through anon again) about how much I love your south park fics, particularly the alien one (gosh it's still delicious) and now I have returned, older and more wise, to say that I've read the antibody fic too and what the absolute heck man ??? I read it all in one go even though I meant for it to be graciously spaced out and UGH how do you DO THIS????? You've really gotten into Kyle's head, so much so that it feels like he's got complete autonomy and he's so real here.

My particular favourite aspects for the fic are Butters and Kenny, because dude, it's them, and honestly I didn't know I needed to see some semblance of a friendship between butters and kyle till you pumped this out. Wendy and, damn, cartman? Or should I say Erica? Is such a concept too! Whenever they come into the scene I get excited hehe. Scott was a bit of a surprise, but I'm curious as to whether he will genuinely grow close to Kyle. Ah gosh, don't get me started on Kyle. Feels like watching a train wreck and on one hand you want to coddle him and go Nooo it's okay honey, other hand, you kinda wanna see how much further he can go, and third hand, it's painful bit in a good way? Might be biased because it's just from his pov but feels like Kyle seriously fared the worst after the 'divorce'. His mind and thoughts are so hectic and how that manifests itself in your writing is so gold. My heart aches every time he talks to Stan but it's so addictive seeing how they bounce off each other.

Small side note though, Kyle was so fixated on Stan bringing up ice men it made me laugh. And Stan being so smug about Kyle calling the idea of him being him up hot is hilarious, make me wonder if Stan goes into, for lack of better phrasing and apologies for possible crudeness, gay panic at the sight of Kyle just like how Kyle does at him. Well Kyle hasn't changed much appearance wise but nevertheless .... <<

Also Stan mentioned something about how he expressed his feelings three times and kyle rejected it? Or am I remembering wrong? Is this a reference to something in canon or is this some sort of hint :'00 I need to reread these 8 chapters and scrutinise everything better

I too, Anon, have come back to you older and wiser, and by doing so I can return to you with an eloquent response, instead of the torrent of childish emojis and button mashing that my heart so desperately wants. Because you fucking angel - how dare you come into my house and say these things to me raw no rubber. And because of that, I'll try and respond your theories as "wait and see" free as I can.

I'm so flattered that you like the way Kyle is being written, and I'm pretty pleased with his character in the story myself. Because yes, I very much intend him to be a sandy butthole of an antihero protagonist, and I want him to hurt as much as possible in this plot. I'm just spit roasting this guy until he's sizzled and cooked and at his lowest. Because what does the boy have to lose anymore? No friends, a bad reputation, a truckload of unwanted therapy and no way out of the situation. Or so he believes.

Kenny and Butters? My absolute favourites in this story, apart from everyone else because I love every character and the role they play - even poor Dr Debby - I mean Teena, Downer. They’re at peace with each other and living a world behind the scenes that Kyle refuses to accept as anything but being buttbuddies that kicked him to the curb so they could go and fuck each other without a third-wheel.

And Butters and Kyle, yes! I love love love their relationship and exploring it, even it’s not much done in fandom, considering in the show they almost have a younger/ older brother relationship. I jump onto that dynamic in the story, where Kyle tries to look out for Butters even if he doesn’t like showing it (as any older sibling does), but Butters was trying to break free and be rebellious in life and he was carrying a wet blanket around who hated the mere idea of change so much that he still wears his disgusting carrot orange jacket and thinks it fits. Hmm, kind of reminds me of Post-Covid Kyle...

Now to the part I hate to say, but Stan is my biggest secret in the story and I’m not spilling anything big, until the time comes. But yeah I think it’s at least obvious that he thinks about that “hot” comment Kyle made in his dying last words. Of course it is - just imagine if Post-Covid Kyle called Stan hot and then passed out and just fucking died. Stan would be obsessing over that shit for a looong time.

sure. depends tho on how opposite they are to each other and if it's going to work out. i mean the opposite of yourself may be super interesting at first, but there is things that do have to align in order for the relationship to grow. or at least both parties have to be open enough to accept and change with the other. like at least in ideals, politics etc. has to have a common ground.

eh i think thats pretty much up to the person themselves. like why does someone have to suffer in order to understand the human condition? what is there to suffer about? we exist and we are the most human every second of our existence, in any state of mind be it suffering or feeling happy. personally i think the best way to understand the human condition is when you look at a person petting an animal or hugging someone they love. i think we became intelligent because we started caring for and bonding with each other. i mean why else do we have pets??? suffering sounds romantic and it sounds smart/realistic to attribute it to human condition. (suffering still being somewhat too romanticized today ngl) though the human condition can be experienced and understood by just existing in whatever condition.

yes. especially today were all very very much so obsessed with escapism even more so due to the fact that all media is always and at any time ready to be consumed. we have become so attached to so many forms of escapism that we forget to face ourselves and would rather continue doing whatever else. i dont think escapism is bad though because everyone needs it once in a while. be it through daydreaming or books or hobbies or whatever. i sometimes also look for an escape. the way we live today makes it very, very hard to confront reality as reality has become a very TIRING mixture of bad news, constant barrage of information at all times, constant pressure from work and so on and so on. and due to being constantly exhausted by something around us, we 'need' these breaks more and more often. bruh idk im rambling rn

89. if you lost all your memories would you still have the same personality?

no. because i am my memories, my experience, the people in my life. i may have the genetic personality traits, which came from my ancestors, that may be a part of me anyway, but never again will i be the same again. the new memories and experiences id make, may be completely different from the lost ones and thus id be a new person. maybe the memories and experiences and people all develop the same way but they would still be new to me and i may react to them in a new way and become a new person anyway. in short: you are who you are because of your memories and experience that have been formed by your surroundings and the many people that have come and gone in your life.

Just stumbled upon a video of someone voice acting the guiding light lines and my very simple brain is squealing over it. I'm not really into voice acting but there's something special about how Lights' VA sounds with the endlessly encouraging Light’s dialogue is.

Which means time to start yelling about the fandom's favorite death screen messager

I'm crossed between Lights knows all about the entities and Lights is learning about them alongside the player.

Like, with Halt. Lights will say that the player have to run away then if the player dies again. They would clarify that Halt would teleport multiple times. Same thing with Ambush. Lights would tell the player what they've learned from Rush and if the player dies a second time, Lights would clarify that Ambush goes back to check on players.

Lights is learning with the player and since they're able to just, watch everything. They pick up things the players wouldn't immediately.

It would also explain why they don’t know much about Glitch (other than it being non canon), Glitch only appears on screen for 2 seconds, which isn’t enough time for Lights to deduce anything other than the lagging behind friends

Yet Lights brings an omniscient feeling with their lines. Like they're letting the player learn and gives advice based on when the player needs it. I also think that there had been many players before the current player comes along.

But now that I'm looking at the death message Lights can leave, it seems to be the case Lights is also learning with us. Hmm, curious.

Also! When I was looking at Lights messages, at the very bottom is the anticheat message which basically goes.

"just letting you know that ambush killed you infinite times so all your revives are gone sorry, bruh" Which I think is a very funny line and that Lights is being petty to a cheater player.

On one hand, Lights is so supportive and patient with the players and would never lose their patience with normal players

but also Lights breaking the 4th wall just to be salty to a cheating player is hilarious. No class in their dialogue dkdkdjf

I imagine Lights to naturally speak clear, no slang except when they’re angry at a cheater or is panic yelling out advice like telling the player to get the hell out of the closet/turn the hell around before Halt gets your bum.

Oh yeah there’s people who make death messages for when you die to the guiding light/others. They're fun when the messages actually look like they came from the game itself, I'm not inclined to think that Lights would straight up call the player a idiot :/

I always love it when the players dies to the Guiding Light and the death message is like.

"You died to the Guiding Lights. Huh? How did that happen? Strange… Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.”

It’s cute in a way. Even Lights doesn’t know what just happened.

There also the death message where it’s clear that Light is meant to be evil and purposely killed the player which is, a concept.

Lights being on the side of the entities would be fun as a au with permadeath. The only good thing in the hotel turns out to be tricking you with falsehoods about their true nature and only pretended to be helpful so that you can get to the deepest parts of the hotel before ultimately betraying the player.

But it’s ehhhhhhhhhh if it’s in the context of the actual game I wouldn’t particularly enjoy the; plot twist! Lights was evil the entire time.

Wouldn’t make sense since Lights is aware that the player can come back after each death. Why reveal to someone literally immortal that you're evil? –

also, if Lights writting looks exactly like how it's seen in the text boxes when hide/halt appear.

anywayyyy this is all REALLY interesting! honestly to me lights is a being who is kind of at odds with the entities, not being in favor of their brutality, but morally gray in a sense because if a player is cheating it would make them easier to survive, right? wouldnt that be what lights would want if they were completely on the player's side? nope lol.

the thought of them learning alongside the player is also rlly interesting tho! one thing that always confused me is that if light seems to know all about the entities, and even scolds you for cheating, then how dont they know who glitch is? like i get that glitch isnt canon but like if lights can break the 4th wall, wouldnt they know? unless the anti-cheat message isnt canon either ........ or maybe it is and the whoel "i cant figure out who you died to" is a lie!

if glitch's only existence is to keep the game running smoothly, then killing the player is not something on its list. it takes no side in this war between player and entity and only wants to make sure things remain playable. having a player be too far behind probably messes up triggers and things like that, and of course having a room not load makes them unable to move forward and the game is unplayable. if glitch wants to keep the game playable, why would it purposefully kill a player and possibly cause the group to start all over or have them be stuck watching as a spectator? i think we talked about this before abt glitch actually wanting to help the players and the harm being accidental, so it makes sense for lights to be like "um... what you just saw? Did not happen. just stick close together." like theyre almost covering for glitch in a way by not naming it and making it seem like an enemy to watch out for, because it canonically isn't. because having a non-canon entity be named and percieved as a threat messes up the game as well. that's the opposite of what glitch wants and light is willing to lie to help the flow of the game.

ALSOOO remember your headcanon about ambush having an encounter with glitch and thats how it got that glitchy look? welll maybe it gained a little bit of a higher knowledge as well..... its still at odds with light most of the time but they understand one another (and glitch) a little better now, which is why ambush is the one to kill a cheating player. lights might not like the brutality of the killings but they want to keep things fair, and that's where they, ambush, and glitch all share common ground. they all want to help the flow of the game but in their own ways. outside of needing to reach that common goal they dont really interract.

1. What is your favorite trope to rp?

Hmm I don’t know I need to think about that, maybe fish out of water sort of stuff? It is so many ocs I made with the concept they’re somewhere they don’t belong or new to. I love aliens and fantasy characters having to deal with modern Earth society.

Also found families when comes to relationships, I love dynamics like “well I’m adopting this child” especially when it comes to these “fish out of water” characters. Like explain to Mika what the heck school is or Null that it isn’t normal to eat five plates in one sitting.

2. Name 3 things you admire about OCs.

Anyone that ever roleplayed with me in the past knows that OCs are my life, I love making and interacting with original characters so much. 

Being proud of what you wrote and who you made, man I love people that are so proud of their OC and can talk hours about them. Tell me everything.

They came from out your noggin space from nothing, from a concept, or designed to be existing in a property you love. That’s awesome alone, someone just sat down and said “you know what would be cool this”.

OCs deserve so much more respect than they get, it is so many in the past I seen that turn their noses to interacting with a OC. Which I am like bruh why? That canon character you love in whatever anime, show, cartoon, book whatever was someone’s OCs once upon time.  Remember that everyone.

First thing LUCY I love Lucy (haha get cause it was a show...okay I’m out). She was like a break out character for me in a way, in past blogs when I first introduced she was pretty much a joke character. But I started to take her seriously overtime. She feels like someone I know or is even related to because of her mannerisms, Also, the fashion. A lot of y’all haven’t seen me draw but I like to and she is my fashionista.

Mika is baby and that’s all the reason I need to love him lol. He actually was my OG muse when I first started using Tumblr as a rp medium. Seriously, this little tyke was my OG and he changed over so many years. But he always been the sweetest little snookums ever and I want to pinch his cheeks so bad!

Despite Elliot in my past blog kinda taking a backseat a lot of times, despite the original blog he was from he was meant to be the center focus. I still really like him and love the fact that he is like one step away from being a supervillain to me. Cause I love having a “evil” character that is developing and isn’t exactly there yet.

hiiii!! I’m back for the end of July :) it feels like this month has dragged on forever, but not in a bad way. My days have felt longer, but I feel like I’ve been able to experience so much more in 24 hours. I got a job working in downtown Toronto, so it’s been fun travelling there every day. I also just love the girls <3 they seem so sweet. So far, Chaewon has been my love at first sight bias, but as I get to know the girls, Sakura and miss HUH YUNJIN my gay icon are creeping up on Chaewon.

I had to read this for my science fiction course. This is such a beautiful soft sci-fi story. I really didn’t expect to relate to this so much, but I could FEEL the family’s grief and sorrow. My family has been going through an especially dysfunctional past few years. Part of me is scared that our Ikky’s actions will result in a similar ending for Lanagan’s Ikky.  

To my Ikky, I’m sorry it’s so hard for me to forgive you. I truly hope you can find it in you to come to terms with all you’ve done and how you can mend the relationships you’ve broken.

Mizuki and his father’s relationship is so freaking good. Although, I disagree with the value that “becoming unaccepting of the unaccepting” is a bad thing. Welcoming everybody requires us to be unwelcoming of the unwelcoming/unaccepting, though I guess trying to change hearts/minds is also commendable.

fuck, when did this story go from just funny with slight heartbreak to being so fucking heartbreaking. This scene in the past with Mizuki talking about how his relationship with Ryusuke will also end with suspecting each other of cheating because it’s hard to tell between friendship and love in same-sex relationships is killing me. 

Somehow this conversation felt so real and raw: Ryusuke saying Mizuki’s still hung up on his ex bc of the earring -> Mizuki saying the earring signifies how they first met -> Mizuki being certain they’ll break up and how -> Let’s have a fucking wedding then -> We can’t legally, dummy -> Let’s exchange vows then

It’s just 50 minutes long but it really freaking touched me. I loved the blend of humour, the familial support and turmoil, the lovely yet rocky relationship between Ryusuke and Mizuki. Everything that could go wrong went wrong but it all came back together in the end T.T

I wanted the wedding to succeed so badly, I’m so envious of how brave Ryusuke ended up being by actually coming out (despite choosing the most unhinged way to do so), how in the end his father came around, how everybody congratulated them.

This was freaking fun and it freaking hurt. Maybe I’ll rewatch someday.
