That was extremely fun to watch!! The lag and my own wi-fi made it a bit irritating at times, esp since I had to split my focus, but it was pretty good nonetheless.

It’s really sad that the Championship itself lagged so much, I have a feeling it left both a lot of viewers and players feeling frustrated as well. 

However, the new mini game was lots of fun and I have a feeling we’ll be seeing it a lot in the future. I really hope we will.

The team was really good, they managed to coordinate very well, but like many groups who’ve just started working together for the first time, there were times where they could’ve slowed down a bit and reconsidered their plans. Still, the important bit was that they all had a great time together.

Overall, I really hope Grian and Pearl will participate again, even if not on the same teams. I also hope that there will be more Hermitcraft members joining in, even if only for one Championship. I had tons of fun writing this as well, but I think I’ll switch back to occasional posts about amusing things that happen during the games, as it really took a lot of my attention from the mcc itself.

Hope whoever kept up with me or reads this later enjoyed/enjoys this. I’m off to bed now, I’m sleepy and I’ll prob wake up, read through this, and find 10 million little mistakes that I’ll die over. Future me, I deeply apologize, but, uhhhh, no regrets!!

ahh! okay so on jan 1st, 2017, i was bored in my room and i just had a thought “yo i’m gonna do something strange...i’m gonna get into kpop.” it honestly came out of nowhere and to this day i don’t remember what drove me to think that. anyway, stepping into a whole new world is difficult bc like, where do you start y’know? so i was like ‘i think yters have reacted to kpop on that react channel (i always ignored those) so let’s watch those’ and i saw got7′s just right for the first time and went “THIS. THIS IS IT!” i became obsessed with got7 for a good three weeks until...i just stopped aksjas. i lowkey forgot about kpop but then i remembered i also liked bts’ song dope/fire and 4minute’s song hate/crazy so i kept listening to those (yes i listened to the same 5-6 kpop songs for the whole month of march) until i decided, no if im going to get into kpop, i gotta go all in and devote myself to a group. so on the iconic weekend of april 11-13, i decided to get into bts and spring break was coming up (omg thank god) and i spent the WHOLE WEEK watching bts videos, learning everything there was to know about bts (cue the cringing at “jimin you got no jams” and “excuse me”) and there were getting bigger as i became a fan so that kind immersed me further in the fandom? and yeah that’s it...

1 - season: winter. because I’ve always lived in the tropics winter is just fascinating and beautiful. Frost patterns??? Also because for literary reasons, winter is the time for hmm how did they put it, transformation? and plot/emotional tension

2 - classic film: err. What counts as one. And I’m really not a movie-watcher I’ve never even watched Home Alone. Can I just go for an animated Disney princess movie lmao Snow White should be the oldest I’ve watched

I would love to buy his entire collection. Same with Agatha Christie, and I’m currently reading her Autobiography lol, maybe it’ll be added to the Absolute Favourites list.

30 - book shorter than 300 pages: The Word for World is Forest by Ursula K Le Guin! It just broke something in me because it covers a topic that I’m personally invested in so I don’t remember any other book having arrested me like that before. Can honestly say this is a book that doesn’t waste a word.

What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid? - I would probably tell people, tbh because I’d probably be writing about it. With my remaining days, I’d probably spend so much time with my family and I’d be praying and in my bible a lot. I feel like I would be scared, but I also know where I’m going when I die and who I’m going to see so there would be a peace about it.

5. You can have one of the following two things. Which do you choose? Why? Love or trust? - In my opinion, they’re the same thing. With love comes trust, and with trust comes love. To answer the question, I choose love first because I feel like I was created for love and love is so important even if it’s not platonic or romantic. It can be as simple as loving yourself or helping strangers and being kind to them. I think love is very freeing so of course I’d choose that first. There’s so much joy and freedom in love, you’d be crazy not to choose it. I feel like love opens you in a million different ways and you just become your fully radiant self.

6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not? - Um, I saved the dogs like because I’m not HEARTLESS?! my boss can suck it and i can find a different job. also pick your battles. i’d rather save an animals life than go to work knowing i let a puppy drown bc i wanted to save my own ass. there’s other jobs out there. 

7. Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most? - Interesting question because the person you trust the most is probably the person you love the most. I think both would hurt, but I’d go with love because I feel love can recover from hurts and it’s easy to forgive when you love someone. When it’s broken trust, it cuts and scars deeper and it takes a long time to repair that.

8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say? - I’d probably be as considerate as I can, but I would just tell them that I don’t feel the same way. If we’re talking about my actual best friend, she is bisexual and I’m straight so there would be no way that I had feelings for her so I would tell her I appreciate her trusting me enough to tell me and being bold enough to tell me but that I don’t see a relationship between us. 

9. Think of the last person who you know that died. You have the chance to give them 1 hour of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours. Do you do it? Why or Why not? - Yes, because I feel like I’d give anything, even a moment, to have one more conversation with him. Even if it was just to look at him for one more second.

10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend? - No, because I feel like I don’t reach out enough. I’m very introverted so I’m fine just being alone and I find I’m more comfortable that way. I love my friends, but I’m just not very proactive as a friend. I feel that way at least.

11. Does love = sex? - No, love is more than that.

12.Your boss tells your coworker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee. You have been there much longer. Your coworker has a family to support and no other means of income. Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company? Why or Why not? - It would really depend on how I felt. If I really felt like that was something I needed to do, I would. But I can’t honestly say that I would leave because I just don’t know. That’s a really tough question.

13.When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say? Who was it? What did you have to tell the person? - A few months ago when I ended a friendship. I wouldn’t say it was super difficult to say, but I felt bad for having to end the friendship. I just had to explain that I didn’t feel like we had a connection anymore and I felt like we were only friends because we were familiar and not because there was anything truly meaningful in the friendship. I feel bad sometimes that I ended the friendship but I felt like we were going in two separate directions and when I expressed concerns about her relationship she never listened and I just kept feeling like she wasn’t who I thought she was and it bothered me to the point I just didn’t feel like the friendship was beneficial anymore.

14. What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite sex, you love them or that you do not love them back? - I feel like it’s harder to tell someone you love them because the stakes are higher. There’s rejection, heartbreak and humiliation that you’re risking or ruining a friendship/relationship. When you tell someone you don’t love them back, it’s hard to say because you probably don’t want to hurt them but you’re the one who gets to walk away unscathed. They’re the ones stuck with the aftermath of disappointment, rejection, embarrassment, and hurt.

15. What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up? Why would it be hard to lose? - My writing, because it’s my love and passion and dream. It would be like losing part of who I am and there are so many times i’ve considered putting it down and walking away but I never can.

16. Excluding romantic love, when was the last time you told someone you loved them. Who were they to you? - I usually say it randomly. I don’t know the last time I said it, but I do tend to say it a lot. Generally in texts or on the phone. I think the last person I told was probably my mom.

17. If there was one moment and one time in the last month what would you change and why? - This isn’t deep, but I would stop myself from saying to my mom: “Jen and I are going to the shoe company” bc now she prob knows what her present is.

18.Imagine it is a dark night, you are alone, it is raining outside, you hear someone walking around outside your window. WHO do you wish was there with you? - My mom!!

19. Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? Why or Why not? - Yes, because I’m not cruel? I would try anyway. I sort of learned CPR in grade 10 but I don’t remember much. So I would do my best but I would call 911 probably.

21.You are holding onto your grandmother’s hand and the hand of a newborn that you do not know as they hang over the edge of a cliff. You have to let one go to save the other. Who do you let fall to their death? What was your rationale for making the decision? - This is a messed up question.

22. Are you old fashioned? - I don’t know. A little bit, but not really. I feel a little more progressive.

23. When was the last time you were nice to someone and did NOT expect anything in return for it? - Every day. If you’re only nice to people to get something back, you’re not a nice person.

24.Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a broken heart, or never loved at all? Why? - I guess the first one. I spend so much of my life wanting to avoid the guarantee of any kind of brokenness, but my mom has always said that if she knew my dad was going to die young and their time was limited she would still do it all over again because he was worth it. I feel like life without love isn’t a life, so I would take the broken heart just to experience love on a grand scale. I also feel like you’re broken for some time but good can come out of it, so it’s not always a tragedy.

25.If you could do anything or wish anything, what would it be? - A full life. Full in the sense of love and satisfaction and dreams achieved. Like a big life.

Fantasy. I’m just so tired of the misogyny, racism and homophobia. So fuckinh tired.

3. Which of your OCs is the kinkiest?

oh boi. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I don’t know????????? My stories don’t have a lot of romance or smut in them?(Not against either in other’s stories I’m just not good at storylines involving romance?)

4. What is the one thing you most want a fan to say someday?

idk I’m pleased by the smallest things. Just an I love your stories is more than enough for me. But what I truly want is the insanely detailed meta that fandoms produce like wow never planned that but thats neat kind of meta you know?

5. Which OC do you think readers will like the most?

Kai i think? ik everyone will hate aux cause she is a confident female character. But I’ve seen people fall in love with kai so easily lmao.

6. Were your OCs born naturally, with pharmaceutical assistance, or via c section?

I’m not sure if you are asking in canon or if this is some kind of metaphor?

But in canon, kai was natural. 

Fun side note tho: I have a whole world (it’s in the ideas folder for now. I haven’t written anything for it I think.) in which the difference between c-sections and natural births are really important and kind of form the basics of world building and the magic an individual can have.

7. What is the single emotion that is the absolute hardest for you to write? (loneliness, loss, hopelessness, joy, etc)

uhhh hopelessness is the hardest cause it hits me hard. But actually writing it is easy cause I feel it so much?

8. If your OC were a cookie, what sort of cookie would they be?

Kai would be oatmeal chocolate chip cookie

9. How important do you think it is to describe a character’s appearance?

I tend to go  under than over with physical descriptions. But that changes with the POV. Kai files away important info especially strength and societal position and hidden weapons because of his past. But Sacrus on the other hand is attracted to the shiniest part of a person(as in the most attractive like a brilliant smile or pretty hair or twinkling eyes) because his artist brain is already figuring out how to put it on paper.

10. And, spitballing off that, which OC do you think is the prettiest?

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm they are all pretty in their own ways but the thing is none of them are conventionally(read euro centric) beautiful.

kai would go for blood obviously, he wouldn’t really pick something salty unless he is in pain because salt is a vampire painkiller in my verse, he would totally go for cakes tho(sweet tooth idiot) preferably something blood flavored.

Your absolute most evil OC is startled by a toaster popping. What happens next?

the evilest of my ocs is an otherwordly eldritch horror that sucks life magic and color out of the world so uhh it would probably destroy the toaster?

Your sweetest OC goes up to the McDonald’s counter to get their order only to discover that after twenty minutes of waiting, the order is wrong, and this is the third time this has happened today. What happens next?

I don’t really have sweet ocs tbh but the closest is sel who would just accept his fate and drink the wrong drink. He would probably tip them too. But if it happens to someone he loves the barista would probs get a strong talking to and the drink returned(he would compensate with a bigger tip tho).

One of your OCs is in a Disney animated movie. What’s the “big” song of that movie? (Pocahontas’ was “colors of the wind,” Aladdin was “a whole new world,” Hercules was “zero to hero” etc.

help probably? unless i get terrified. For someone who loves isolation I sure am a wuss.

But not having wifi might hurt cause sometimes i get fixated on one little detail and it would help to just get it out of my system(like naming a character or some fact) by just looking it up.

And then he finds out how hot Otabek looks with a snake around his neck. (My review: So I’m def super behind on Kas’s Twitter au, but she did this thing with snakes and I needed more. This is my fault. <3 u kas. I loved it)

What drew you to this character? | firstly, when i decided to write another application, i thought it was about time to go through characters linked to one of the mobs. though i love neutral characters with all my heart, there is a different demeanor to a character who is tied to any of the three mobs within verona. and thus, i was torn between three different characters in each of of the three mobs; and obviously, brielle tugged a little harder than most. which is indicative of who she is, really. brielle has this beautiful strength to her that is difficult to ignore. she is someone who is undoubtedly forging her own path, no matter how many times life grabs her at the ankles to cause her collapse. she is someone who is nipping at the bit for a chance to be remembered, and yet refuses to forget why she is doing so. she burns so brightly in her passion and determination, steadying her own flames or fueling them when necessary. she is linked to the spades, to others within the city, yet she will always belong to herself, and she doesn’t hesitate in throwing a wry smile and reminding people of that fact. she is someone that, in the end, i would love to explore if i earn the chance!

What is a future plot idea you have in mind for the character?

( plan i ) each and every one of the spades are on different levels compared to her. it was bound to occur, with her a sleeper agent and them unifying miles and miles away. she isn’t exactly a loner among them per se, but she doesn’t seek them for companionship first and foremost. she was important as she worked for the spades undercover, and yet, now that they are in verona, she cannot help but feel frustrated at the loss of power she once held. a part of her is glad there are more spades to cover the the vast size of the city; another is seething at the lost opportunities. the desire to succeed and rise through the ranks is something she hopes happens sooner rather than later, as irrational as that is. how will she build further relationships with those she is meant to work with? there is alva, the gentle soul with a killer’s eye; calina with her foreboding presence and calculating gaze; faron, with a charm she remembers and a demeanor that she never expected. will her independence, her own damn pride, keep her from developing the vital relationships needed in the mobs of verona? or will they be the first domino to her downfall within the group?

( plan ii ) there is a priest bound to God, and a being who regards themself as one. two different figures who have struck a match and lit a wall of flames onto her path. there is a pull to one, perhaps because of the gratitude she harbors toward him saving her when he didn’t have to ( though she wonders, if he had known she was a spade, what he would have done ).  and perhaps it’s a touch of curiosity and understanding that has her returning to him again and again. then there is an avoidance of the other, exactly because of the unexplained offense she has caused. and perhaps a shred of doubt that whatever she’s done — whatever they believe she will do — will cause her unraveling. how will either of them affect her in her life? will she become close to hea and distant with hugo in a strange twist? or will hea strike her down as they have done countless others, denying her a chance of another talk with hugo? these two, while not her closest relationships, have direct cause and effect on her life. will either wall of flames calm, or will she one day burn?

( plan iii ) what will happen if her prides causes her to take a step too far? what if her need for her independence rattles cages meant to be left alone? she was once neutral in a territory that doesn’t easily forgive, if it ever does. she has removed one mask, and the city of verona gasped at the reveal; they will not forget the slight she has caused. how will she clash with other members of different mobs? how will those neutral characters choose to interact with her now that she is clearly not one of them? all of this and more begs for exploration.

In Depth

“What is this for again?” The question is drenched with an incredulous tone, her raised brow more a warning than curiosity as she peers over her shoulder. The girl following her, with a steno pad and pen tucked behind her ear, is harmless. This Brielle sensed since the girl peeked her head into the stables, her voice echoing against the walls asking if Signora King was in the vicinity. Still, as the girl offered her hand for a shake, Brielle couldn’t help but notice the stitching at the cuff of her sleeve and the sheen to well-worn boots. That flare of caution rose at the signs of wealth. She had learned her lesson over and over and over as to how she needed to treat such people — and how she wanted to treat them.

“School project. For journalism,” the girl replies, hand still wavering between snatching the pen behind her ear or keeping it in place until — whenever. Brielle barely manages to keep her eyes from rolling, opting to look ahead instead and slide into one of the stable units. The horse resting is not Chasing Tales, but she treats them all as if they were own. Has to, if they majority would ever feel they were treated right.

As she reached for the brush, her gaze flicked back to the girl. She finally decided to grab for her pen, eagerness dripping from her very being. “You’re going to have to manage with me continuing my work. I don’t exactly have time to stop and humor a school interview today.”

“Would you stop and humor me if I were a legitimate journalist?”

“Not at all.” Brielle shoots a small smile, and turns back to the horse before it can nudge her for attention. “You may begin.”

What is your favorite place in Verona?

She muses over this question as she brushes. Now that she was a permanent resident, despite only being in the city for a few months, there were more places she could list as being ones she enjoyed. The cafe, for one. The soup kitchen another. However, whether she would be allowed in such places was a different story at the present. Besides, relaxation or interacting with others in the same position as her family, while good things, brilliant things in their own regard — were they her favorite places? Should they be?

                               ( yet whenever should popped as a form of question,                                              in retrospect, she already knew the answer. )

“There’s a moment,” she finally begins, her eyes meeting that of the horse’s, “when the race has already began, and maybe I’m doing what I planned to do, perhaps I’m falling behind. There’s a moment when I lean forward, knees pressing to Chasing Tales side, where he and I — we merge as one. Which is what should happen as a jockey and horse, you know. But that sense it’s happening, it’s so freeing, like the world is in your hands and millions of miles below you at the same moment. That — that is my favorite place to be.”

What does your typical day look like?

“I believe no days are typical.” Not anymore, at least. If she were home, the rigorous, menial tasks she was ordered to do would be a typical day. And she partook in every task with the sense something better would set itself before her feet, wrapped in a way that allowed her to know it was a genuine present. And that had finally come, after twenty-one years.

Whether Faron’s smile was the same gift now as it was then —- well, that was a question with a difficult answer.

“While I am here at the stables more often than not, routine work only deems me here in the morning to take care of the horses and to train. If there is a race, I’m here not matter the time of day. In general, though, I walk where my feet lead me. If there are errands needed to be done, someone who knows me needs my assistance and I’m able to do it, then I’ll do those things. Every day brings something new somehow, you know? And that’s what typical I suppose; the variety, the unexpected.“

What are your thoughts on the war between the Capulets and the Montagues?

“You trying to paint a bigger target on my back?” Brielle asks, coming to the door I plant her face in the other girl’s. While her voice didn’t raise, her piercing stare causes the girl to avert her own after a few moments.

“Everyone has an opinion,” the girl mutters, and Brielle immediately replies, “And not every one needs to be shared.”

Sighing, she rests her arms over the stable’s door, letting the horse nudge her shoulder until he lost interest. “Listen, all I’ll say is that it’s time for their dispute to end.” And for someone new to rise. She doesn’t know Faron’s plans, and maybe those like Calina didn’t know either. But the Spades already disrupted the flow of conflict;one day, they would be the ones to put an end to it all.

Licking her lips, she flicked a hand at the girl. “We done here?”

In-Character Para Sample:

Her breaths escape ragged, pooling over the mane that keeps whipping at her face. At some point, the hair needs to be clipped, shortened to an acceptable length that is comfortable for her and the judges. It is a note for later, a menial task compared to the training. What matters more is working hard today, and the next,

and the next.

It’s that needling sensation that has her digging her knees into further against Chasing Tales’ side, urging him to speed down the track. They weren’t attempting to break their personal record – that would be saved for an actual race – but she understood by the patter of his hooves and the glance to the marked rail that they were faltering. Practice couldn’t allow too much leeway in awful times; the road to success couldn’t be longer than it already was.

The upcoming turn was sharper than normal, and she eases the pressure of her left knee, leaning into the turn. In near parallel, Chasing Tales leaned, a harsh breath resounding. It was all she could hear, her breaths and his echoing under the instrumental of pounding hooves. This is how she knows she is alive.

As they round the turn, the thought is sudden, dangerous; she immediately disregards it, though as it nags at the back of her mind, she reaches a compromise with herself.

Chasing Tales’ stride lengthens out of the curve, and she feels the strength of his muscles as he drives himself forward. His mane still tickles her face, a reminder of how dangerous her idea is. Yet there are few she trusts in this world, and she has placed her life in this horse’s heart before.

Another breath. Her heart pounds against her chest. She closes her eyes, imaging the track laying out before her. There is the image of her arms spread wide as Chasing Tales runs forever. And she smiles, so wide and young and alive.

When she opens her eyes, she gently tugs at the reins, finally bringing the two of them to a halt. She leans forward, her hand brushing down the side of her horse’s neck. “What a brilliant run,” she whispers, and her gaze flicks to the movement of his ear, a giggle soon leaving her curled lips. She swings from her perch, landing without a sound. “Let’s get these sweaty things of your back, yeah?” The two of them are damp, a matching pair of hard workers, and her smile blooms stronger.

Yet it soon fades as she grabs the reins and turns. There along the railing, perhaps having watched her last run, is a man with the same smile that graced her presence months ago.

“Brielle King,” he says as if they met just yesterday.  "Faron Vasiliev,“ she replies, as if lifetimes had passed. She walks closer, Chasing Tales a beat behind her. When she draws near, her back straightens, her eyes on his. His smile widens a fraction. "It is time,” he murmurs. “Will you be prepared?"

And perhaps this is him giving the a chance to walk away. To return to the life she once knew, despite how suffocating it was. Or perhaps it was a test wrapped as a genuine gesture, and if she answered incorrectly, he would latch onto her until she was no more. Or perhaps it was nothing at all, given how she already had an answer prepared long ago.

Chasing Tales rests his muzzle on her shoulder. Her hand reaches up, fingers gracing a soft velvet. She is a sight to behold; a knight and her stead, sweat dripping down their faces and a glint of determination in their gazes.

A ragged breath. A flicker of a smile.

"I will always be prepared.”

chasing tales is the horse she runs at verona. she was the jockey of two other horses when she ran competitively before she moved, but chasing tales is by far the fastest and easiest horse she has worked with. while she has never owned any of the horses she rides to victory, her heart soars when she takes care of them. chasing tales is no exception to this, and she spends the most time of any jockey ensuring his comfort and that he is healthy before each race. she has never hesitated in pulling her horses from a race if she deemed them not fit, and there have been a few races since the explosion that chasing tales has been too spooked to race. she cares naught for the bets on her and her horse; his life is more important.

she wears her hair in a ponytail or braided; rarely does she let her hair cascade over her shoulders, as she finds it to be in the way more often than not. yet she doesn’t cut it, for when she looks in the mirror, she sees her mother’s face framed by her long hair. in those moments, she doesn’t convince herself her longing for home will fade.

she’s broken three fingers on her left hand and her fight arm from falls off a horse. they were injuries long ago, when she was a teenager still working too hard and too long, and they have never quite bent the same since. they don’t inhibit her riding or everyday life, so she doesn’t think much of them.
