so first of all. i DO watch a lot of shitty bl its a past time i greatly enjoy BUT this will be a list of shows i recommend because theyre GOOD fjdjsjkfksjdkf also idk how much bl youve watched if any!! so if youve seen all of these i can and WILL rec more im just putting the ones i would recommend MOST rn

1. Bad Buddy (available on youtube)

WAGHHH this show changed me as a person… rivals to friends to lovers, romeo and juliet, secretly dating… its just sooooo good. its about pat and pran, who have lived next to each other their entire lives BUT their parents Hate each other. occurs mostly in college where they live across from each other now (sighs.. fated lovers…) AND their friend groups hate each other too. rivals 2x… however theyre forced to work together because the university is threatening punishment if the two groups dont stop fighting.

this show seriously is just SOOO good and i relate to pran on a personal level. both like… autistically and loving pat-ingly (ohm pawat.. whew hes Such a man)

2. Where Your Eyes Linger (available on viki? or dramacool if you want to pirate it lol)

OK a lot of people rate this kind of mid in kbls BUTTT its forever my favorite idc. its about a chaebol and his bodyguard who was essentially adopted by the family for the Sole purpose of being his bodyguard. set in high school and features just the most wonderful yearning and also for some reason they only have one bed in the apartment they share. goes into power structures and stuff a bit which i thought was cool :) basically the bodyguard has been in love with the chaebol his whole life but never acted on it because 1. thats not his place and 2. taejoo is Straight. he yearns quietly until Uh Oh… someone starts taking kang gook (the bodyguard)’s attention away from taejoo and he gets jealous.

3. I Told Sunset About You (available on viki. i watched it on dramacool)

AUOGGH.. this show will tear you into pieces. its just such a BEAUTIFUL and cinematic experience i love it so much… notable things to mention: features cheating and an obscene amount of crying. i love this show but i cannot do crying scenes. it was a struggle fjsjdjfjdjdjf anyways this show is about two childhood friends who are now rivals. theyre trying to get into college and taking classes outside of school to prepare, where they meet each other for the first time in quite a few years. teh is insanely jealous of oh aew for being popular amongst other things and it causes a lot of. tension. teh has a girl hes been flirting with for years and oh aew has a guy he likes but they both feel an INTENSE pull to each other. one that isnt easy on their relationships or theirselves.

OH!!! also this show features a ton of thai-chinese culture and is set in phuket as opposed to almost every other thai show being set in bangkok.

also i dont recommend the sequel. i havent watched it but it has some. problematic tropes that leave a bad taste in my mouth. also just destroys the characters! idk thats just my opinion though im sure SOMEONE likes that show..

4. Until We Meet Again (available on youtube)

ok. first of all. this show is about the red string of fate and reincarnated lovers. im warning you now that it literally starts with a double suicide scene and its. its a lot. HOWEVER. i do really like this show!! its sweet and does justice to both its trope and the couple who commit suicide. basically pharm, a stick of a guy who experiences panic attacks and nightmares that he cant explain, enters college and meets dean, the captain of the swim team. they both definitely know something is up and have feelings for each other but they have to navigate flashbacks and discovering what happened to their past selves (in and korn). ALSO has a side couple whos show is currently airing!!!! im not putting between us on here since its still airing but i do recommend it :)

5. Gaya Sa Pelikula (available on youtube)

when i say this show changed me as a person.... god i genuinely have sooooooooooooo many emotions about this show. it follows karl, an architecture student. he moves into his apartment and.. some guy runs in and puts a hand over his mouth and tells him to be quiet. No he is not getting robbed but he doesn't know that. QUEUE fake dating and cohabitation to appease vlad (the guy who ran in)'s sister. genuinely has some of the best most incredible characters ever made and features incredible depictions of internalized homophobia and struggling to live your own life rather than the one someone else made for you. god just thinking about this show is makingme emotional i miss karl and vlad :(

i think this show was supposed to have a season two but something happened with the cast/production crew (im pretty sure it was SA but im not sure) and so theres no sequel. it has a cliffhanger/bittersweet ending but genuinely i think that shouldnt impact whether or not someone watches because its sad YES but its just actually such a good ending and i would have hated if they ended it another way. one of the realest and most human shows ive watched. the BEST depiction of the gay experience ive ever seen. genuinely please watch this show just for that it made me cry and laugh and sob and giggle with how nuanced and thoughtful it is about gayness

6. cherry magic (ITS AVAILABLE ON CRUNCHYROLL??? i watched it on dramacool. lmao)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH the movie sequel just came out and i haven't seen it yet but im soooo excited for it. cherry magic is one of the most endearing shows but it doesn't sacrifice character development or plot for cuteness. the premise is that when you turn 30, and youre still a virgin, you turn into a mind reader. which is a big premise to sell i KNOW. but they NAIL IT. adachi (the mindreader) is introverted, insecure, and uncomfortable in his skin, but his new powers force him to come to terms with himself and exist as a person. he avoids touch as much as possible as everyones thoughts can be A Lot BUT he brushes against the office hottie/mvp and finds out that he (kurosawa) has a crush on HIM. adachi doesnt understand but tries to figure out why this incredible guy could love a shy and awkward person like him. features an aroace side character and a side couple i ignored (save for the cat. udon lovers unite) its just such a sweet but powerful show and i love the characters so much :((((

7. hes coming to me (available on youtube)

OHM PAWATS BACK IM SORRY HES JUST MY FAV AND ALSO THE BEST ACTOR EVER. anyways this show has SUCH a soft place in my heart i truly think its such a special show. its about a ghost who is never visited at his grave and therefore cant pass on and a guy who can see ghosts. Thun has seen ghosts for most of his life but he hasn't really talked to any. Mes has been dead for awhile and longs to have someone SEE him and TALK to him. when thun is a kid, he sees mes and leaves him some offerings. but he doesn't return for a very long time. thuns now a college kid and when he returns to the graveyard, he finally talks to mes and they click. from there, they work together to figure out how mes died to try and help his spirit move on, but develop feelings along the way. has the most HEARTBREAKING coming out scene ever. ohm pawat seriously deserves so many awards. ALSO has a lot of thai-chinese culture!!

kit's fics year in review (2023)

it turns out i wrote a LOT this year (last year now, i guess) according to my ao3 stats, and i saw one of those recap games for another fandom floating around my dash so im absolutely gonna pilfer some of those questions for my own little review + add a few!!

how many fics did you write in 2023? it was definitely the year of the silly short fic for me -- i published a total of 6 new oneshots on ao3 along with 5 fics only on my kofi! i also added at least one chapter to 9 other fics that were already posted. and i started and completed 1 long stand alone fic this year (if you love me let it remain unnamed, clocking in at 37k)

what are you most proud of fic-writing wise in 2023? i finished foolproof, foolhardy! it took more than a year to write, from first published to last updated, but i think the lion's share of the work happened during 2023; it's sort of rare for a fic of mine to get that long (72k), so it was fun to write through all the developments. truly a cracky premise that grew legs and ran away from me, but i'm really proud of how it turned out. the last 4 chapters contain some of my best writing in my opinion and the whole story is a love letter to padawan obi-wan, who will always be my beloved lol

what is the fic you had the most fun writing? this is a tough question because i'm torn between two fics; sun, sun, sun here it comes is probably my favorite oneshot that i've ever written. it sorta incorporates everything that makes a silly little au in my mind, from miscommunication to banter to bonus babies. but then there's i pray the same, but my gods have changed, aka the democratic fic- now that's such a fun fic to write, and i'm going to get more into it this year again. it's the one where tumblr votes on what should happen next, which i absolutely enjoy - especially when people send me propaganda about which option should win....thought the amount of ties that have happened is mind-boggling lol

what is a fic you didn't expect to write? hahaha well this is easily 'a more perfect union' which has been sooo fun to write so far but also definitely has had a very short gestation period from nascent tumblr au post to 25k on ao3 lol and still one more chapter to go!!!

what fic surprised you when you were writing it? oh hands down this is 'hand me down dreams got me high in the rafters', aka the pool boy au from tumblr. the adaptation of it from tumblr au to a fic on ao3 has a crazy tone shift where the obi-wan in that fic is much, much darker than the one in the tumblr au - i really ended up leaning into the unequal power dynamics of a boss/employee relationship and exploring how unhealthy it could be while keeping it consensual -- but only because anakin would allow obi-wan to do whatever he wanted to him

what's a fic you wanted to write but didn't? my poor neglected hunger games au!! i really want to get the first chapter of that posted because i am so excited about this fic and writing it as a new big, long project -- i'm excited about the dark anakin, the differently dark obi-wan, the hunger games set in the gffa, etc etc etc

what is something you learned this year that you'll take into 2024? set is the only acceptable name for anakin to use undercover <3 we will be taking the set cinematic universe into 2024 <3

what's a project you're excited to carry into the new year? um all of my wips lol but especially time & tide and the couples counseling au - i have about half of the next chapter of t&t written, and before i got sidetracked by a more perfect union, i was on track to get that posted by christmas....obviously that did not happen lol but i'm expecting to get back to working on a few more chapter updates at the beginning of this year!

the problem with doctor who is that i think very early on the writers began to take way too many liberties with quality and consistency because they could hide behind a) popularity of the show, b) star power + popularity of the actors, and c) nostalgia. and i think that really came through with the most recent specials because on the one hand yes it was fan service and im the fan and i do feel served, but on the other hand there's a level of quality you expect from these people especially for a 60th anniversary special that just wasn't there. and before you think "oh that's just the doctor who charm its always a bit badly written", that's my point exactly thats the excuse they hide behind, because people say that but they also always come back (im one of these people. that always comes back) when actually theres proof that the show CAN be really good. Not just silly and campy and nostalgic but actually good and interesting and intelligent.

and my issue with the specials is that they introduce all these new ideas like bigeneration or solving the metacrisis but in what feels like such a rushed and underhanded way, in favour of nostalgia-inducing lines and callbacks to older lore and cameos. and thats not to say that the specials were devoid of any meaning or emotion, and the nostalgia worked for me and overall my reaction to all 3 episodes was positive. but these themes and plot points that get revisited and quote unquote "resolved" are not given the gravitas that they SHOULD have been given, or hypothetically WOULD have been given by a writer who actually cares and can be bothered enough to get into the details and the grit. bigeneration was a total curveball that simply MUST be explored in depth in fifteen's series cos otherwise what was the point? and the metacrisis solution was very clearly shoehorned in and also a little bit cringe and not in the classic doctor who acceptable cringe way. all 3 episodes felt like they'd dug this great wide hole called "plot" and this hole is grand and impressive and draws people into it with the promise of being filled with something interesting.. and then u get to the hole and its just filled with a scattering of pebbles and a few nice shiny rocks. the good bits were the shiny rocks. i could list every good thing about the specials but it would just be a list of aspects or individual moments or lines. when in combination the whole thing is underwhelming and underdeveloped. and to be honest it felt like russell t davies got sidetracked writing fanfiction for his favourite blorbo and forgot to focus on writing the Actual TV Show he's Actually writing.

all that being said: Ncuti Gatwa stole the show and i am really excited and the specials were good enough that i have hopes for his series and i DID have fun and i believe i will CONTINUE to have fun. but i have to say that overall I was disappointed. these episodes definitely planted the seeds for some wonderful storytelling. but. it was the 60th anniversary, the return of DT and Catherine Tate, and the transition into the next series that is on so many levels radical and exciting. it should have been more than just seeds. it should have been the whole tree. also Martha should have been there. thank you for listening

not to get personal (on whats sort of become a personal blog? how dare i) but im thinking about how crazy my life has been since i started this blog.

i emailed, organized an event around, met, and had dinner with 3 of my industry heroes. one is an art director at cartoon network. i had interviews with 4 more of the most amazing creative workers ive ever spoken with. in my last week of college i both met and signed with my agent. didnt sleep for 4 days while trying to set up my final exhibition and dug a fork into my leg when i realized everything was happening. my senior thesis got picked up to be a graphic novel.

i was invited to an early screening of nimona. that nd stevenson was at. if id mentioned it to my agent he probably would have invited me to the screening HE was at. WITH nd stevenson. because hes HIS agent. because i share an agent with the guy who made comics about burning yourself alive in college like theres nothing coming afterwards. and 10 years later he looked at me and said ‘that one. thats my next one.’

i met nd stevenson after the screening and managed not to say a single smooth word, which was probably for the best. he signed my book. i asked about our school. he changed the topic. i had panic shakes the entire trip home.

i got hired to teach art summer camp. got sidetracked from my comic pitch. got back onto my comic pitch. went to SPX and assisted a friend with tabling. met ANOTHER industry hero. who also works with my agent. told her who i was working with and she lit up, we talked about her current project, she almost started crying because i remembered it and she didnt think anyone did. now we’re emailing.

emailing ANOTHER comics friend. got lunch and they helped me get back on track with my pitch. theyre helping me find a comics internship. i’m working on the pitch again and im FORCING my deadline to be the end of november. before the year is over i’ll have pitched my first graphic novel at age 24. i already know one publisher is interested.

i got an invitation from my old professor to come speak to her class. waiting to hear back from that. i never thought theyd want me again but there the email was, plain as day, “ive been thinking about you and i want you back.”

i know what im doing. nobody can say i dont know what im doing. im afraid all of the time and my hands keep shaking and i never sleep. i think im on fire.

The things we don't say (have I given enough) is a royal fic, with giant royal sbi, and human thief's bench trio. Tommy was adopted by the royals and he grew up there, but always felt like he was useless and worthless, being human in a castle of giants. So he runs away, without saying anything, only going to come back once he has their weight in gold. The way he gets the treasure is... Not exactly honourable, and it's how he meets Tubbo and Ranboo, also thiefs, and willing to help Tommy. They become friends quickly. Now, I'm not saying any more because I don't want to spoil anything (and cause you know what happens already), so let's move on to the next one.

Yes, I can see that you've guessed what Just try not to crash is, and yes I am forced to give you more info. Just try not to crash is a jornos submission fic for @i-am-beckyu, which miiight be Wilbur giving Tommy a remote control car, + shenanigans. This fic was supposed to contain pure fluff, and it still might, but I'm on g/t angst brainrot, so you can never be too sure >:] (They ended up naming the car Carl because of Techno, since they asked for a name)

Rescue me from my despair is with faerie Tommy and human Wilbur, with Techno and Phil appearing later... it's a oneshot about Wilbur and Tommy being (technically) brothers, but Wilbur is scared to tell Techno and Philza about Tommy, since faeries tend to lead people towards unspeakable dangers. The rhyme in the beginning goes so:

Don't listen when the fae calls,

Doesn't matter how much they coo,

You're safe if you ignore them,

But when you follow them, the dangers true.

Sooooo yeah, that might not be the best beings to befriend. So Wilbur gets hurt in the forest before Techno and Philza come to visit him, (they visit weekly, and Wilbur hides Tommy everytime) and Tommy has to convince the humans that no, he is NOT trying to murder them, he is trying to save Wilbur. (I do like this idea :])

Anyway, the borrower has the humans doll, borrower size of course, and see it as a lucky charm, taking it with them everywhere. It seems to work too! They can do a ton of risky things, super dangerous too, and get harmed without getting hurt! Super lucky, right? Well... the human is very concerned about their soulmate. They know that the soulmate will take the others pain when holding the doll, so they are very careful as to not hurt them. Apparently the soulmate does not know that, for they have gotten harmed multiple times. What on earth could they be doing!? And to top it all off, the house they just moved into seems to have mice. Just great. Now they need to go buy traps from the store...

Hehe, can you imagine what would happen when the human gets hurt from their own trap? I can >:)

Dokja grunted in his sleep.

Kim Dokja clamped his pillow over his head and turned to face the other side.

Yoo Joonghyuk gently turned him over again, "Han Sooyung came back last night."

Now this got his attention. Dokja released the bent pillow and opened an eye to peer at Yoo Joonghyuk's face leaning over to look at him. Cute. But it was too early for this.

"Oi, I know you're awake now you rat bastard", Joonghyuk poked his face.

Dokja let out a louder groan as he stretched his arms. Why were his quilts and pillows the fluffiest and warmest in the morning? It was light out. Glowy. The room was full of soft mellow sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains that were drawn over the large bay windows.

He yawned and sat up, still contracting and relaxing his muscles and flexing his toes, regaining feeling into his body as he faced the bog man who had climbed onto the bed. A good view to wake up to.

Yoo Joonghyuk's hot pink Kiss The Cook Apron was characteristically spotless, adding some flavour to his bland low strung grey sweats. He looked almost unreadable to an ordinary person, but to Kim Dokja he looked less grumpy today. A good morning was in order. The only thing that could make this better was Han Sooyung. Too bad he had to be the one to bring her over.

"You promised you'd pick her," Yoo Joonghyuk reproached, trying and succeeding in looking stern.

"Fine," Kim Dokja croaked. His voice was hoarse and throaty, which was an extremely attractive quality to Yoo Joonghyuk apparently. However, now was not the time to be sidetracked - he needed to start breakfast for his wife and her husband.

i did end up reading Puzzles on ao3 AND IT WAS AMAZING!! I don’t even know how to put it into words - i finished it and i came straight here to tell you

Honestly bloomy the way you write is so engaging and beautiful! haha i am blanking so hard on what the word is but ya got me hooked from the first chapter - and the way you characterise Eren is so perfect!! It’s like.. its a completely different Eren because its not canon obviously but its also not your typical college au BUT ITS EREN DOWN TO HIS CORE.

i LOVED how you don’t just focus on Eren ; there’s so much quality in your writing of the friendships with the rest of the gang too!! Sasha, Mikasa and Armin especially

Typically the love triangle (sort of) trope doesn’t itch my brain right.. but the way you incorporated it was so smoothly done imo. It wasn’t to stir drama as much as it was to showcase how deep Eren and Jean’s friendship is no matter how much they fight (it felt very true to canon) . It also worked to show character development and growth for all of them and GOD i ate those 24 chapters up so fuckin fast.

And Eren (can you tell i love him so much bloomy?) UGH HE IS JUST SO… SBISBSKDNF BLOOMY I WANT HIM SO BAD

He is so disgustingly and effortlessly charming and it works so well with him and FUCK i would also jumble up my words and become a mess in front of him…ohmtgosh I got sidetracked - what i meant to say was — you showcase Eren’s internal struggles and issues with vulnerability so so so so well.

Like i know that you had to twist it to fit the context but i think the homage to canon Eren is done very nicely and THE LITTLE GLIMPSES TO S4 EREN WHERE HE SHUTS HIMSELF OFF TO EVERYONE AND PUSHES HIS THOUGHTS DOWN DEEP AND HIDES BECAUSE HE WANTS TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE HE LOVES AND SAVE THEM FROM GETTING HURT IM - SOBS

Film student anon back here. First of all, I'm loving all the different industries/students of said industries that ranboo's managed to upset, it's really funny to me. I always forget to add this but I'm a bit of a writer too. Sorta, I do fanfic so I never studied it formally but I'm very happy with my works! (But I'll always defer to the actually writers who pop in here cause fanfic is a very different ballgame)

Second of all, a *million* dollars, wtf

Ok so like, obviously a million is a lot, but it's both more and less than you think for media/film projects. And actually since it's an indie project, it's way more

There's different tiers of film budgets, starting at micro to big, I had a whole class on it (fun fact, pirates of the Carribean 3 was the most expensive movie ever produced it I remember correctly)

But a million dollars for an indie project is insane. And what's more insane is how poorly that million was used. He could've had access to so much good lighting, actually good costumes (full offense to ranboo those costumes were so incohesive), a good camera for those shots in the second stream

The Blair Witch Project, one of the most successful indie films ever, cost a mere 200k to produce (a lot for us but the film world gets very expensive very fast, renting a decent camera can easily set you back a few hundred a day, so multiply that by however many days you shoot and the camera alone can be thousands of dollars). And that was back in the 90's with a fraction of the tech we have now.

Wait sorry, I'm just reading the wiki article for the Blair Witch Project since I had to google the production cost and it gets better. Most of it was actually done by improv and one of the actors was chosen on the basis that he could use a camera. That's actually so cool. Sorry I got sidetracked there

Anyways ya, so that's a lot of money that ranboo had access too, and a lot more when you consider the average cost of most indie projects, and even with all that, he blew it

honestly all of these. i was more nervous because its just how i am, and i was also bit mad once he mentioned he wasnt single (before outbreak). i mean like in a normal sad upset way yknow. and ofc i was nervous entire time to be around him during outbreak when all of us were sticking together >>> and once he realized he likes me during outbreak oh boy he was quite nervous he was even more clumsier than usual and would even get sidetracked often, basically a cute mess :3 but he was also bit mad at himself because it kind of felt bad considering he had just gotten out of relationship

that really depends abt e.d. he usually doesnt give a shit /aff still, but if hes bored he'll come up w something to trick us both into thinking god knows what abt each other, and just watch the chaos unfold (and i also mean that in like silly tricks not anything thatd actually ruin the relationship LOL)

i like that hes easygoing, funny and he just always easily makes me smile,, and he likes that i have alot of common with him so he always has fun when im around,, plus we really understand each other in so many ways. as for other, we switch spooning positions, hes actually very cuddly in private he loves to hold me from behind if im doing something, sometimes i make breakfast and sometimes does he, were also the types to wake up but fall back asleep lazying off in bed for hrs etc. i could go on forever. ok ill also say we play games together any chance we get + if i feel down hed get e.d to do his dum monkey impressions <3

when nicho.las first arrived to sanford he couldnt sleep and he went to a bar to insepct the town a bit, and so i was also there. he usually drinks juice whenever he goes out and he also noticed i had juice instead of alcohol aswell so he asked out of curiousity and its what got us to talk a bit. but once he told me hes a policeofficer i died of shock because hey like, youre making small talk w a cute guy but hes a fricken. god at his job. but she thought he was kind, bit stiff but very cute. nicho.las thought she was approachable, had rather unique tastes but she was also very kind and was just listening to anything he wouldve said

🫣: Who stumbled the most with their feelings around the other? How much did the other person notice?

i think nicho.las was definetly trying to hide it more because he knows how invested he gets in his job. but he also wasnt too good at it, hed get ridicilously shy, hed even stutter and blush but it was quite noticeable. i noticed it but i took it more of like "maybe i made him uncomfortable". as for me its that but 10x worse, he just thought im generally like that (which i was but. worse)

💕: Who confessed first and how? Did it go as planned or did shenanigans ensue?

i apologize if this is super cheesy but. yeag it wasnt really a proper confession because when we found out, the city council had kept me hostage (basically weird shit happens in the town lol) but nicho.las had arrived just in time after he got attacked himself (,: they figured out themselves how we felt of each other. and when of them said "you dont wanna lose someone you care about besides your job" i asked "is that how you really feel?" and he quietly nodded because of shock from seeing me being held by them. then bla bla he saved me we escaped with his friend da.nny, and when we got out of car i hugged him tighly and he did the same. thats pmuch the confirmation there >>>>>
