A/N: Please remember that this is my opinion, so please be nice. Also I promise that I AM working on Stray Kids as D&D Characters its just taking me a while. Enjoy!

Seonghwa: Baron Von Trapp, The Sound of Music

Hear me out - He's poised, organized, clean, and well-put together at all times. However, he secretly does have quite the interesting, fun-loving side. He prefers organization, but is also full of love and creativity that isn't always apparent to everyone. He is strong in his ideals and values, with a soft side for those he loves.

Hongjoong: Orpheus, Hadestown

He is focused and creative, but often times gets too immersed in his work. He gets so immersed to the point where he will forget to care for himself and those around him. However, that doesn't mean he does not love them - in fact, he cares incredibly deeply for those he loves. He will do anything to make sure that they are okay and that they get back on track, even though there may be doubt setting in.

Yunho: Jack Kelly, Newsies

He's a little flirtatious, a little goofy, and also willing to do anything to protect those around him and keep them safe. He really is a leader in his own right even if not many always see it. He really loves pushing people’s buttons if given any space and opportunity, but he also loves pushing for change and making things better for those around him.

Yeosang: Seymour, Little Shop of Horrors

Bless him, he's so quiet and sweet. He really cares deeply for those around him even often at his own expense. He can often be too nice for his own good sometimes but it is so hard to not love him. Yeosang, I feel, makes sure the people around him feel the love at all times, even if his methods are unconventional.

San: Christian, Moulin Rouge

San really loves so deeply with all of his heart. He feels like a hopeless romantic that will love who he does until even after they have gone away, and even more after that. He is a loyal and dedicated lover and friend to those he holds dear. He would also sing instead of talk at all times if given the chance, and would feel heartbreak on an intense level that not many can comprehend.

Mingi: Roger, Rent

He feels so many emotions all the time and uses music as an outlet when words otherwise. He wants to leave a legacy to the world but feels overwhelmed with the pressure to make it perfect. He loves too much and it kind of scares him sometimes. He also tends to doubt his success despite having the people around him giving him support. He is also a certified Rock Star/Emo King™️

Wooyoung: Fiyero, Wicked

We all know he's a little sassy, flirty, and a bit of a shit-stirrer sometimes. But, when he sets his mind to what he cares about, he will do anything and everything possible to achieve his goals. When he loves someone, he loves them with his whole heart and will happily sacrifice himself for them at any cost - a love that is truly hard to ignore and hard to come by.

Jongho: J.D., Heathers

Again, hear me out - He regularly has a lot of things going on in his head, so much that he often can't say. He often takes things into his own hands, which can be a bit intense even to him. He comes off composed and deep, but internally may be a chaotic mess sometimes. He is also spooked by affection from others, and it takes him a while to show his true colors (for Jongho irl, his true colors are beautiful, unlike J.D. who is...not that - that's a difference).

Sending this ask because I wanted to tell you I’ve started Mr. Osomatsu!

And I’m fucking loving it. Holy shit, I don’t know really what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t this (in the best way possible.) I’ve watched the first three episodes and I just had a big goofy smile on my face the whole time!!

Every time Karamatsu speaks I get jumpscared hearing Bruno’s voice 😭 it makes me so happy!! 😭 oh my god the things he says kill me. Do you know how much edit potential Karamatsu’s lines have??? I could just rip his audio and slap a picture of Bruno on it 😭

I’m watching the subs right now, but do you know where I can find the dubs? I’ve seen clips and I NEED to watch them. I’m having a hard time finding them...

Loved it (And the more you watch of the show the more you see Karamatsu could actually work as a JoJo character lol)

My issue with Korra isn’t that the characters were uninteresting tbh - it’s that they were the exact opposite of that. There was so much room for exploration. Avatar was such a good show (with flaws) because developed it’s characters fantastically (up until Aang’s S3 arc, which could have been handled a lot better imo) - they took the troupes it would’ve been easy to resort to - naggy mom friend, happy go lucky kid, badass girl, edgy guy - and showed the complexities behind them. Aang hides the loss of literally his entire life behind his cheerfulness, and it’s shown how he snaps, gets angry and runs away. Toph’s entire persona is carefully crafted to defy the helpless role she’s been cast in her whole life - she’s not just badass, but badass purposefully. Zuko has a desperation born of years of abuse behind his angst. Katara has survivor’s guilt and trauma, forced parentification, and rage behind her hot temper and mothering, and is allowed to explore those. Sokka is goofy, but he’s intelligent, cunning, and it’s shown how his goofy façade hides his insecurities over his own skills and masculinity.

Korra never gave it’s characters room to breathe. We never got the chance to see who they were past the love triangles, too-fast plots that were dropped after one season, and robots for some reason. Mako was introduced as the edgy love interest, and despite how interesting his backstory is and all the potential behind it (especially with his parallels to Katara - he has so many!!), that’s who he stayed. Bolin, same as the goofy comic relief. Asami, she just... has no real personality. She’s... strong willed. Sometimes she’s angry, I guess. There’s never anything even to hold onto with her - her feelings over her mother’s death are never really explored, nor are her relationships with really anyone sans her romantic bonds with Korra and Mako. Her scenes with her father in S4 showed hints to some potential, but it wasn’t enough to make me invested in a character I had spent three seasons up till now looking at as a blank slate - the Token Badass Nonbender, and that’s that. Jinora’s one of the more interesting characters on the show, but there was a lot more room to explore her insecurities surrounding if she can live up to her grandfather’s legacy, her spirit abilities, and Kai and their relationship especially.

Really, it’s just... Mako’s parents were killed in front of him when he was eight, and then he was forced to basically raise Bolin without a home. Bolin had no stability in his life for most of it, and his only real trusted figure was his two years older brother. Korra is an avatar who was never given a chance to develop any identity outside of that, seeing the world, one carved from the ashes of imperialism and genocide, for the first time. Asami has a father who manipulates her and works with terrorists, but unlike Ozai with Zuko and Azula, genuinely loves her. Even within just these four there are such interesting ways you could go. But Korra was really the only one allowed to develop at all, and even then, for some reason she has to be brutally tortured to... ‘humble’ her? Like, I did like that arc, but there’s also some... things going on there.

Maybe there could have been an episode like the Southern Raiders but for Mako, where he and idk Asami? anyone really, hunt down the firebender who killed his parents, and he’s forced to confront the source of his trauma that started it all. Maybe we could have a storyline about the Triple Threats, Mako and Bolin’s time with them, how bad their circumstances were and some of the things they were forced to do. Maybe something like The Beach but for Asami, letting her crack and break about her complex feelings towards her father. We could have seen more of Mako being an older brother to Kai, Kai’s development from selfish and flightly to kinder and more grounded with Jinora. Maybe we could have been shown more of Kai’s backstory - his parents? Idk.

Korra, of course, would still need to be the focus. Maybe something like Nightmares and Daydreams but darker, like, towards the end of every season to explore how the pressure and trauma from being the avatar is negatively affecting her. Idk.

Just... let the characters develop. Breathe. Be people and not just caricatures or placeholders, yk? This goes for Jinora, Ikki and Meelo, Kai, the Krew, the adults, everyone - Korra had four seasons. Maybe not time for everyone, but at least for more than they gave. At least time for the main four.

okay so I've been holding off talking about Rent-A-Girlfriend too much on the dash because I want my girlfriend to read it as spoiler free as possible. But I feel personally attacked by the translation sometimes.

So. Japanese Time with Nint. Rent-A-Girlfriend's Japanese name is 彼女、お借りします (or, "Kanojo, Okarishimasu"). They translate this to Rent-A-Girlfriend for reasons. I don't know what they are, but they're reasons. As you've probably surmised, this series involves girlfriends, and the aforementioned renting of said girls (its a whole thing).

In the series,. in the Japanese, they call this profession レンタル彼女 (or, Rental Girlfriend). Because in Japanese, those words mean "Rental" and "girlfriend". Like, its a simple TL. Don't need to be a rocket surgeon to figure it out. And given the plot of this series, it comes up quite a bit. Sometimes in serious scenes too. Like, oh, I dunno, this one:

So, probably a good idea to keep it safe and just translate the phrase plainly and let the text speak for itself, right?

Not according to Kevin Gifford, the official translator for the Rent-A-Girlfriend series. Kevin, in his esteemed big-brained wisdom has decreed that all references to rental girlfriends, shall in fact be title drops. Chizuru isn't simply a rental girlfriend, she is a "Rent-A-Girlfriend." Which, can be charitably be called a decision.

Sometimes this isn't so bad. I mean this is a romcom after all. But like I said, this is every reference. So even all the serious thinky feely moments get infected with Title-Drop syndrome. Which is annoying because the original author Reiji doesn't do this once in the entire series. Literally, he never mentions the phrase 彼女、お借りします once in the series named 彼女、お借りします. Because 90% of title drops are cringe.

No, Reiji drops it in the fun, silly, goofy spin off manga. The one with the moe character being discount Komi-san.

Now, given that this is both a direct title drop from the text (彼女、お借りします), and a usage of the term that keeps getting translated as a fucking title drop (レンタル彼女) you would assume that we're going to get a title drop from the translation. And given the additional context that its by a 10 year old or something (I forget but he's on the young side) who is also a youtuber, you'd figure it would be a pretty goofy title drop to boot.

And...

It's nothing. Not only is the title drop erased, "Rental Girlfriend" is translated fucking normally. The one time it would have been a good decision to title drop, and we get nothing. It's almost as if this was personally targeted at me to bring me pain and suffering.

Komi-San Can’t Communicate - Friend-Making Simulator (Review)

Summary I guess: Hitohito Tadano is a high schooler who’s trying his best to blend in. This gets thrown out the window when he is seated next to Shoko Komi, the most popular girl in the class. Everyone is enamoured with her beauty, and are pissed at Tadano for getting to sit next to her. Shoko Komi has extreme social anxiety and a communication disorder. For the most part, she can’t speak at all. Despite this, she is the school’s “god”, as they put it in later episodes. After school one day, Komi has a chalkboard conversation with Tadano. He soon discovers her goal is to make 100 friends. He decides to help her, and becomes her first ever friend.

Ratings/Review:

Story: 10/10 - I love media that I can relate to, and this anime is very relatable to me. When I was younger, I had very very bad general anxiety. I think the topic of anxiety is handled really well, especially for an anime. It’s not put as some joke like a lot of shows I’ve seen have. The story is also just really sweet and entertaining to watch.

Characters: 8/10 - Komi and Tadano CARRY this show. Everyone else is pretty ok, most of the side characters made me uncomfortable (Yamai and Agari), I do like Nakanaka, though. Komi’s whole thing is relatable to me. How Komi and Tadano kinda word off each other is also really cute. I love how the group interacts with each other.

Art: 9/10 - The art style is very pretty. I do think some of the characters looked goofy sometimes, like Tadano and Yadano. The animation is pretty good, especially the opening, it’s so pretty.

Sound: 8/10 - I liked the music, it’s not my favorite but it’s good. The voice acting was also pretty solid.

Overall: 9/10 - Komi-San Can’t Communicate is very cute and uplifting, if you like feel-good romantic subtext anime watch this. Would recommend.

AlolaTale AU: Major Characters

Since I haven’t done much for this AU in a long time, here’s a brief summery of all of the major characters (Excluding the cast from USUM since they have not been changed much, I’m also not going to list the full final teams for the characters listed here since I’m still working on them)

Another thing to note: The Dark World in this AU is a part of Ultra Space and functions a whole lot differently than its original Deltarune counterpart. Dark Fountains and the reason Darkners turn to stone in the influence of them will be explained in another post.

Selene: The main protagonist for Alolatale. Selene is a young lighter human whom originally hails from the Kanto Region and was orphaned at a really young age (heavily implied to have been because of a boat accident due to a bad storm) before being found and adopted by the Dreemurrs following the death of their two children.

Currently living on Route 1 of Melemele Island with Toriel, Selene is about to begin her very own Island Challenge with her brand new partner Pokemon, a Popplio named Pearl.

Ralsei: A strange young Darkner Boss Monster whom hails from another world and acts as Selene’s main companion throughout her journey through the Alola Region.

He appears to have lost most of his memory and is unaware on how he ended up in the Light World/Alola. He also has a Cosmog of his very own, similar to that of Nebby. However, he seems to appear to have a connection to the now ruined Kingdom of Darkness, which fell following an attack by the Blinding One, plunging the once United lands into an Era of Chaos.

Zero: A mysterious shiny Type: Null that Selene encounters and catches not long after saving Lilly with the help of Professor Kukui.

Not much is known about their past other than the fact that it escaped from the Aether Foundation with the aid of someone else. They are rather timid and slow to trust, however seem to have taken a liking to Selene. Yet compared to the other three known subjects, Zero appears to have some hidden potiental that may even be greater then the others.

Toriel: Former queen of Monsterkind and current mother to Selene, having stepped down along with her husband following the Barrier being broken thanks to the help of a powerful Pokémon trainer and Jirachi to “live a more peaceful life” in the Alola Region. The two had a son and adopted a human child and lived happily for many years before the tragic deaths of their two children at the hands of a “Black Prismatic creature”. She and Asgore are currently divorced. Toriel currently works as a teacher at the Trainer’s School and is well known throughout the island for her famous Butterscotch-cinnamon Pies.

Asgore Dreemurr: Former King and adoptive father to Selene. He and Toriel are currently divorced following the death of their two children and a disagreement the two had over how the situation should be handled.

He currently works as a rather well respected gardener throughout the Alola region for his work with plants and even some unique ones he has bred himself. Asgore’s most famous flower is known as the “Ebott Buttercup”, a special variety of buttercup that can grow within low light environments such as caves.

He currently lives on a boathouse and is good friends with the owner of the Poke Pelago, Mohn. Selene does not get to see him often but the two are on really good terms.

-Sans and Papyrus: Two skeleton brothers and Pokémon trainers who both have Marrowaks. Considered by Selene to be her “honorary uncles” and well known for their goofy antics they often get up to.

Papyrus is seeking to become a trial captain like Undyne while Sans is just… Sans… lazy and loves puns as usual. Sans is also good friends with Toriel. The two are frequently encountered throughout Selene’s journey, acting like their usual selves.

The two are also shown to be on good terms with Guzma and Team Skull.

Undyne: Current Trial Captain of Brooklet Hill and mentor to trial-captain-in-training, as she calls her, Lana. Hot headed and always eager to battle, she’s well known for her “rather tough” challenges and is well loved by a lot of monsters for her bravery.

Despite her usual hotheadedness and passion and while she may come off as a little strict to those she is training, she deeply cares for those she is close to (Such as Papyrus and Lana). She loves anime like a certain other dork…

Alphys: A monster scientist working at the Aether Foundation and the one responsible for “building” Mettaton. A big dork who loves anime but also hides a troubled past involving the Chimera Expirements (the replacement for the soul experiments in this AU, the amalgamates remain the same save for two new ones.). She’s the one responsible for helping Lillie escape and aids Selene multiple times throughout the story when dealing with the Aether Foundation. She also has a crush on Trial Captain Undyne.

Noelle Holiday: A shy reindeer monster and good friend of Selene. After believing her father to have “fallen down”, she ran away from home to become a Pokémon trainer. Noelle is encountered and battled throughout the story as Selene helps her come to terms with the “loss” of her father, Rudy Holiday (Until the end of the main story, when the now amalgamated Rudy/Silent Night gets to finally reunite with his family)

She has an older sister, Dess, whom is currently out on her own Pokémon Journey in another region (Dess is alive/not missing in this AU, however will not appear physically but is mentioned to be heading home by Noelle to see their father again.)

Mettaton: A robot “built” by Alphys and a local celebrity. He currently runs a hotel on Akala Island that is in direct competition with the Tide Song Hotel.

Flowey: A talking flower encountered throughout the game. Unlike his canon counterpart from Undertale, Flowey does not play a major role in this story until the Rainbow Rocket Epilogue and also is capable of feeling emotions to some degree.

He has some sort of connection to Zero as the Pokémon seems to remember him. Flowey also is shown to have knowledge of the Chimera Experiments and seems to hold some sort of connection to the Dreemurrs .

Asriel Dreemurr: The deceased biological son of Asgore and Toriel and step-brother to both Chara and Selene. He and Chara started their own Island Challenge at the same time and traveled together with their two starter Pokémon, which were Eevees. Asriel’s evolved into a Sylveon while Chara’s became an Espeon.

The two were very close until one day when Chara was attacked by a strange creature. In a panic and bid to get help, Asriel ran home but was ambushed in Melemele Meadow where he was fatally injured. He died in his father’s arms and his dust was scattered on a memorial placed in that very meadow as a tribute.

The flower he was given to his father as a good luck token was also planted there before it was removed to be sent to the Aether Foundation. It eventually returned by some unknown means and locals claim that sometimes it disappears.

All of his Pokémon, along with Chara’s, were sent to live in the Aether Paradise by their grieving parents. However, Asriel’s Sylveon escaped one night and has been said to be roaming the Alola region looking for it’s trainer.

Asriel plays a larger role during the Rainbow Rocket incident.

Chara: The first adopted human or the Dreemurr family. Most of their past is unknown other then the fact that they used to live at an orphanage before they ran away and were taken in by the Dreemurrs.

Asriel and them were very close, even in their final moments. Chara is currently buried in Hau’oli Cemetery where a statue can be found that resembles the one found in Melemele Meadow. Both of these statues have a music box in them, yet this one is described as being much more worn with the music box only playing a few still functioning notes. Guzma will appear here and talk about the statue and the incident.

The Great Papyrus is the most popular Undertale character among the fans surveyed here. 19.6% of responders chose him as their favorite. That’s a total of 519 fans! (Wowie!!)

Not all Papyrus fans are unified on his characterization, however. The most obvious divide was between fans who call him a “cinnamon roll” or “precious baby,” and those who find these takes infantilizing. A lot of people like the friendliness and optimism of this character, while others recognize this but highlight his maturity too. Fans who worry about his infantilization seem most concerned with how he can be portrayed as naive or dumb by the fandom. Honestly Papyrus just feels like joy. Funny, incredibly kind, with a few mysteries/weird quirks about him that are fun to ponder over. I especially love how he often acts proud and self aggrandizing without putting others down, and in fact sometimes uses that to lift his friends up alongside him. You don't see this take on proud characters often.

Papyrus is strong. Strong in body, but also morally strong. He knows what is right, what it means to be merciful and kind, even in the face of danger or death. Some think him naive. And yet, even facing death and seeing the dust of those he knew, he did not falter or turn from his ideals of mercy and change for the better.

Papyrus is very under appreciated, and overlooked, and it's very frustrating to me—he's a complex character but people treat him like he's a baby!!! I like him because he's kind of goofy with how he talks and he's just very charming and kind.

He's weirder than Sans, and it wasn't acknowledged for years because he acts oblivious and dumb, even when he's clearly not. Quite frankly, I find it iconic. Also, his entire personality helps a lot.

I heavily relate to Papyrus as a character and consider him my favorite fictional character of all time. He is a very well-written and thought out character with several quirks and layers in his personality. It is headcanoned by some (myself included) that Papyrus may possibly be on the Autism Spectrum due to his nature, his interactions with others, and overall how he displays himself to the world we see.

I could talk about Papyrus forever, and you have made a grave mistake in allowing me to do so. He is a charming, strong spirited, well intentioned, complex character that is often wildly misinterpreted, and I think originally this is why I was drawn to him. He is presented as one thing and in fact acts as one thing (though not the same way as presented by fandom), and in reality when you look closer than you are meant to he is not, in fact, any of these things. It was intriguing to me. Secondly, and rather contradictorily, another thing that drew me to him is that he is very true to himself, when it comes to idiosyncrasies and moral values. It's true that he does not offer much in the way of personal backstory and feelings, but he offers very much indeed in the way of personality. What a guy! He wears silly crop tops and bright colors, he speaks in a manner specific to him that sometimes doesn't make sense, he cares about something or someone and goes whole hog with it -- he's passionate, damn it! I love him and his weirdo, goofy self with all my heart. He cares about other people to a fault, too. He would sacrifice everything to help someone, and his belief in the potential of both others and himself is indomitable. When faced with the responsibility of a kingdom, his friends gone, his brother lying to him, and himself all alone without a reliable support system, he recognized what he was facing and still bucked up and became determined to get through it. When faced with a murderous, over powerful enemy, someone who had killed many of his friends and fellow monsters, someone who had repeatedly been rude and borderline aggressive and showed no signs of stopping, he saw that they were having difficulty and offered to help and to care for them, and didn't regret his decision or change his opinion on what they needed and their potential for change, even when quite literally killed by them a moment after. Even in death, even directly after a betrayal like that, he never stops believing that they can get better, that anyone can be a good person if they want to be. That's important, I think; that concept of giving people the chances they need to grow and to change. I have a tattoo of that moment on my thigh, it's that important to me. I guess I really like Papyrus because even though he is fictional, watching him out there makes it easy to believe in people, in our inherent goodness and desire to love each other. He makes it easy to see that we can change, that no matter what you've done in the past or who you currently are, no one is inherently a bad person, and no one is incapable of learning how to be a good one. It is just a step by step process that we have to take day by day.

"Sure thing, darlin'," he replied, picking up his bag and following you to a more private area.

"Okay, uh- Here goes: There's something I've been needing to tell you for a while, and-"

"Ah see..." Atsumu sighed, all of that hurt hitting him again like a ton of bricks. This was where you finally did it right? This was where you'd tell him that you and Osamu were together, this was where you'd finally rip his heart out.

"You... do?"

"Yeah." He tried not to sound bitter, but he found it seeping through anyway, a harshness weighing down on his inflection. "You and 'Samu are goin' out, right? Figured that out for m'self a while ago, darlin'. Ya don't gotta tell me."

"Wha-" You stared at him in bewilderment as the pieces click into place, and you realized what he'd been thinking all this time. You couldn't help it, and burst out into laughter, bringing a hand up to cover your mouth.

"What's so funny?" he asked, puffing his chest out slightly and crossing his arms. He'd spent so much effort trying his best not to lose his shit over the idea of you in love with Osamu, the least you could do was not laugh in his face.

"Atsumu, I am not dating your brother. In any way. I've never even thought about it. I asked you to talk because, well..."

"Oh. Oh m' God." And finally he got it.

"I really like you, y'know? And I was wondering if you'd want to go out sometime? Like, on a date? Osamu actually helped me make all the plans." You were far less nervous now, in part because of Atsumu's misunderstanding, but mostly because of the huge, goofy smile that spread across his face.

"So... I'm guessing you're on board?"

"Oh, sweetheart, you've got no idea," he chuckles, pulling you into a tight hug and kissing the top of your head. "Ya scared the hell outta me, y'know."

✰ Osamu's feelings for you snuck up on him.

✰ He'd always been drawn to you, but he didn't think it was any different than anyone else. You were a cool person, and he liked that you saw him for him, and not as part of a matched set.

✰ Valentine's day was tomorrow and Samu had been unfortunate enough to overhear a conversation between you and a friend.

"You're going to bring him chocolates?" Yua whispered to you, her eyes shining.

"Mhm! I think he'll really like them too! I'm gonna go home tonight and work on decorations for the box." You had no idea Osamu was listening, and if you did, you would have probably died on the spot.

"I think he'll say yes," she replied thoughtfully. "Some of the girls have been upset lately; they say that Miya-san really likes you."

Osamu wished in that moment that the earth beneath his feet would open up and swallow him whole. Had he been wrong? Did Atsumu feel the same way that you did? And worse, had a selfish part of him been hoping that you'd be rejected?

His jaw tightened and he turned away, careful not to draw your attention as he slipped off in the other direction.

He considered faking a cold the next day, but that was childish, wasn't it? He dragged himself out of bed and got to school, dreading lunch period, when he knew everything would finally come crashing down around him.

The bell rang for lunch, and he packed his things quickly, not wanting to be there to watch you confess to his brother.

Imagine his surprise when he felt a tug on his sleeve just as he reached the doorway, and turned to see you standing there in front of him.

"'Samu? Could we go somewhere a little more private?" you asked, tensing up slightly the way that you always did when you were nervous.

"Er... Yeah."

What? This wasn't at all what he'd thought would happen, and his head was swimming as he followed you to the library, staring at the brown paper bag that you clutched to your chest.

You ended up behind one of the taller shelves in the back, and Osamu's hands were twitching in his pockets as he stared down at you.

Time was moving agonizingly slowly as you opened the paper bag and withdrew a brightly colored, heart-shaped box.

OSAMU was written across the front in careful lettering, and the world stopped around him.

"Samu, I-"

"I'm in love with you," he breathed out, hands moving from his pockets as he stepped forward to place his hands on the sides of your face, closing the distance between the two of you in one fell swoop.

Before you could answer, his lips were on yours, and your heart was bursting.

He was grinning when he pulled away, eyes gleaming with adoration as he took in your smile.

"I love you too, you big dork. I... was not expecting this to go so smoothly," you admitted, reaching up a hand to brush back a lock of his hair.

Clouded Kokoro thoughts (spoilers)-

This whole case was just so persistently sweet and human. I mean, it was definitely uncomfortably filled with racism (by intentional, purposeful design), but still. I just want every character to be better off and have a good life. There’s newlyweds constable Roly Beate and Pat Beate, all scraggly and covered in patches. He works long hours and just wanted to take her out for their anniversary, and she loves the single rose pitifully wrapped in old newspaper that he presents her, and doesn’t complain about their sparse life.

Then there’s old married couple John and Joan Garrideb, and they’re just full of secrets… secrets that are gradually revealed throughout the case. But the last secret came when John took the stand. Despite having a fight where Joan slapped him and threw stuff and him and literally caught the apartment on fire, he voluntarily got on the stand with her… no small feat as he has a bad knee and is chair-bound! His apartment is two flights of stairs up, and he wasn’t even summoned, but he took the stand anyway so his wife wouldn’t have to be alone.

And standing there, for the first time, I could see him from the back, revealing the back of his robe stained and worn through at the seat, and it broke my heart! And that’s what he does through and through, doing his best to keep up appearances when his life is going to pieces. He wears a ruffled jabot and military medal over his tattered and stained bathrobe. He pretends to have a maid whom he can’t afford. The house is falling down around his ears. And his undergarments showing through his robe is just tragic. I- I just want him to be happy in his old age.

I’m falling a little in love with goofy old Herr Lock??? There’s some weird chemistry in their Great Deduction dance. And he called me partner. And he invited Susato and me to live with him! And oddly, every time I try to write him off as a ridiculous fool, he turns around and proves me wrong. Like when he revealed he hadn’t actually accused Natsume-san, and had only deduced his location. Or when he wrecked Natsume-san after the trial.

Will I end up shipping Herlock Sholmes x Ryuu? Maybe?? Idk??? Not fully over Kazuma yet but I’m feeling something for Sholmes here!

Ok, Ryuunosuke is pretty cute when he’s confident and making deductions. Way cuter than when he’s sweating and twitching in court lol!

One complaint though… why are the cases so easy? They are long but each step is fairly obvious. Especially “pursue” is super obvious… too obvious in my opinion. The visual thought bubble, the audio exclamation, and the ! sign on the circular slider.

But beyond that, what evidence to present also feels too obvious. Too often, we get evidence and then it’s used in the very next step. I remember in the original trilogy, I had to think (and honestly, guess) a lot of the time, and somehow that made it more satisfying.

Bruce really came through for me. I thought he was a sleaze ball last time, but I’ve misjudged. I’m sorry I tried to pin Milverton on him.

Prosecutor van Zieks came through for me too. I loled when he told Joan he “couldn’t recall”, hah! I’m not surprised - this is case 4 out of 5, and prosecutors tend to turn into my allies around then. Will I end up shipping Ryuu x Reaper? Shipping with the prosecutor tends to be a thing that happens in Ace Attorney games, so maybe?

I was all set to love Kazuma forever, but I have to say, Barok van Zieks is incredibly beautiful. I mean, lots of characters are cute or cool or even attractive, but not many are beautiful. Miles Edgeworth is beautiful. Barok van Zieks can give Miles Edgeworth a run for the title.

He tends to fall asleep pretty quickly, passing out within like 20 minutes of y'all finishing. If, though, it was soft and giggly sex, he wouldn't fall asleep at all, he'd just snuggle into you and talk about cute things he saw that day or scroll through social media for cats or some cute shit because he's not really tired, just very warm and very content...dare I say, like a cat in the sun.

Could we ask for your headcanon appearance of each monster? How tall are they? Anything specific out of the typical appearance made by the fandom?

OOOO i have no idea tbh uh. hm.

gonna put this under cut because you said monster not skeleton….. whole rq list is getting da treatment >:3 fair warning i have no been super into the aus for very long so idk what constitutes as fandom wide appearance and what doesnt

sans: i dont think i have any hot takes on what he looks like? hes just regular old sans blue hoodie and basket ball shorts. i do think he smells vaguely of cheese whizz though.

papyrus: i cant stop envisioning him in sweaters and i dont know why. like the really dorky ones. the kind of guy to wear ugly christmas sweaters for months. my hot take is he tends to wear the same couple of outfits semi-frequently for months at a time as a comfort thing. his gloves and scarf are ALWAYS apart of the ensemble. the gloves r also for sensory reasons

red: i am OBSESSED with turtleneck wearing red its changed my life. i think about ur near constantly. he doesnt wear his jacket as much as sans maybe? i can also see him wearing jewelry some. if he had ears hed have one pierced. its generally rings and necklaces though. he and esge have shark teeth too like those kinds of sharp teeth but i know thats generally normal. big boneed and has a belly. bc he deserves one

edge: LEATHER ENTHUSIAST. he wears leather pants i think. he also has a purse to carry doomfanger around in (she is wearing a harness) he wears heeled boots which add to his impressive height (6’5) uhh. smells like spices. vaguely of cinnamon. gloves are less for sensory reasons, more he isnt fond of dirt.

blue: wears a bunch of goofy graphic t’s and also his scarf. has a tooth gap and freckles but thats a pretty common interpretation. he wears sneakers and has various silly ones like light ups and heelies. just for a laugh. my hot take is every sans had a tooth gap growing up and only blue didnt get it fixed. he thinks he looks better with it.

stretch: CARGO SHORTS. the many pockets for the many things he finds and picks up. theyre seemingly never endless. hes lanky looking, always slouching and leaning to one side hes never known good posture in his life. talks with his hands.

lord: wears shoes that give him a height boost. also unironically wears designer shit. his gloves are also for sensory reasons like papyrus. instead of shark like teeth he just has very sharp canines. he smells like coffee underneath and OVERWHELMING amount of cologne.

mutt: ALWAYS wearing his jacket youd be hardpressed to get it off of him (only lord can do it wnd even then its still a chore) his boots are furlined and everything he wears is the same texture. he defaults to sweat pants bc jeans r scratchy but he can manage it ok. hes got claws he tries to keep clipped down bc they scratched his phone screen. has a tendency to glare.

g: turtleneck under leather jacket wearer. he smirks more than he smiles. the tallest sans. he and ace take on a thicker set of bones to match gaster. wears docs probably.

ace: argyle enthusiast. very very tall, kind of gangly with glasses and a very sweet smile. his eyes are VERY kind you know the ones where someone smiles and their eyes crinkle up and youre like my god they r the sweetest.

height wise from tallest to shortest: ace (7'2), g (6'7) edge (6'5), papyrus (6'3), mutt (6'1), stretch (6'0), red (5'5), sans (5'3), lord (5'1), blue (5'0)

gaster: tall, very tall. not really made of bone, it feels kind of boney but its more porcelain like?? holes in his hands and cracks on his face duh. kind of pudgy. like i know hes boney but hes got a dad bod tbh. his smiles kind of on the awkward side even when hes being genuine. he also tends to wear long sleeves.

mercury: eccentric sweater vest kind of guy. wears cordoroy pants and is a few inches shorter than gaster but not much. his missing a tooth in the front of his mouth (he tripped) but it only adds to his character.

epsilon: wears reds and blacks, with deep scars running along his face and also his body. his chest has a nasty one along with a few along his arm and on his back. shoes are snazzy, you can hear them click on the floor and he does it on purpose. intimidating.

height wise from tallest to shortest: epsilon (7'11), gaster (7'6), mercury (7'4)

toriel: not sure what to say here except toriel in my head is soft shapes. not super curvy just kind of round. mrs clause shaped.

asgore: took the tits in the divorce

rose: a little curvier than toriel. she has the appearance of someone who used to be kind of buff but over time lost that. sharper teeth, thoigh theyre somewhat small and unnoticeable unless shes threatening you. she also has claws.

oleander: HUGE AND BUFF. where rose’s fangs are small his are not and got are they obvious. has black hair as compared to swap and uts blond. huge arms. tends to wear tight fitting plain black shirts. always sneering.

clover: also buff, gotta be buff to hold that trident. she wears flannels and jeans more often than not. shes a bit serious, leaning more towards the tired side. has eye bags that she tries to make less noticable. her horns are bit bigger than uf and ut toriel.

basil: wears glasses like ut toriel, his muscle has turned to fat so he is very soft. has a warm face, welcoming and inviting. hes the smallest of the asgore but hes still pretty damn big.

dahlia: her fangs are not as big as oleanders but much bigger than roses. seems lost in thought and when shes not shes cold and prying. doesnt sneer, she smiles, though its almost too wide and somewhat unsettling. on the off chance her face softens, she looks younger and sweeter. her real laugh sounds kind of like a bell.

hemlock: black hair like oleander although its kind of greasy. he wears cardigans, always mentioning being cold. hes got fangs as well and his eyes are somewhat down turned kind of making him look perpetually miserable. hes the thinnest of all the goats, looking borderline unhealthy.

height wise from tallest to shortest: oleander (8'4), hemlock (8'0), asgore (7'7), dahlia (7'6), clover (7'5), basil (7'4), rose (7'2), toriel (7'2)

The crossover fic + learning he's a favorite of yours has me curious: do you think it would be possible to tell a satisfactory Shadow vs. Mr. Mxyzptlk story? I think he'd fit surprisingly well in that milieu as a credible threat: he's something of an older, mistier, shadowy world, kin to fairies and elves and imps, pixies and sprites and genies, bound by old laws and dressed like a parody of 20s/30s class, beyond The Shadow's usual powers and yet...THAT. There a thematic in to this throwdown?

I had never actually thought of Mxy in that light, even though it's very much in line with what he is, because Mxy is one of those characters I don't tend to think about much. He's one of those ready-made perfect villains who pretty much guarantees a fun and creative time whenever he pops up uninvented. Like The Ventriloquist for Batman, he is so uniquely a product of how Superman works and what his stories allow for, that I can't say I ever thought of taking him for a spin outside of them. But there's definitely stuff to work with in putting him and The Shadow together.

Come to think of it, if there's a Superman villain I think Walter Gibson would have liked to play around with, it would be Mxyzptlk. Mxy stories are fundamentally about Superman being thrust into a position where his only way out is to solve puzzles and turn the tables using nothing but his wits, and Gibson spent the majority of his career before and after The Shadow as a writer of books on magic and puzzles, both of which show up a lot in The Shadow stories. You see it even in several covers which contained clues for the stories within.

To an extent, you could argue that The Shadow might figure out quicker a way to trick Mxy, because The Shadow's already has to utilize a constant amount of trickery and deceit and puzzle-solving in his daily adventures, it comprises almost the majority of what his stories are about under Gibson. The usual Mxyzptlk narrative is one that's well within The Shadow's domain.

But on the other hand, it's definitely some extremely unusual territory for The Shadow, villain-wise. A villain who eclipses his powers and scope to such an extent is completely unheard of. The one time I can think of where he fought a villain this weird and who he was completely powerless against was when he met Suven The Clown King of Venus (who's definitely a character that could show up in this meeting), and even then Suven was just a weird alien who looked gigantic next to the shrunken Shadow. Even on the few occasions where The Shadow encountered other aliens or eldritch monsters, he was able to find a way to stop the threat for the moment or even kill it, which is definitely not happening here, because Mxy is a whole other level.

Superman has the strength and endurance and superpowers to roll with whatever mayhem Mxy throws his way. If Mxy decides that The Shadow’s looking too pale so he's gonna give him a tan by throwing him in the sun, what the hell is he gonna do to stop him? I imagine that Mxy would likely take a different approach to messing with The Shadow, since he can't tank nukes like Supes and he's not really a good sport about the game.

Fine, whatever, Mxy's a creative sort, he's got a couple of ideas for messing around with Mr Grim-n-Serious over there, show him what an Eldritch Monster looks like past the squid monsters and dragons he may have met.

The idea I'm getting here is, on one hand, Mxy attacking The Shadow with the usual goofiness he brings with him. And on the other, him realizing that messing with The Shadow's dignity isn't as fun as he thought he'd be, so he instead goes full SCP Foundation/Awful Hospital/Ice Cream Man on The Shadow until he's stopped, trapping him in amusing and horrifying eldritch nightmares and situations that he has absolutely no way to escape until he solves the puzzle.

I mean, he's not fighting Superman here, he can kill this guy with a blink, even just stopping his heart with a thought. No fun in that. He's gotta beat the "Master of Darkness" at his own game. He's got a point to prove.

I imagine that much of the story would play out of The Shadow having to piece together what exactly has gone topsy-turvy in his reality, whether it's Commissioner Weston eating spiders for breakfest or the entirety of Manhattan sans him going blind and all lights going out across the country. And when Mxy comes out with that shrill SURPROISE!!!, assuming The Shadow already knows what he needs to do, then he falls for whatever gambit The Shadow's had to cook up to trick him.

At the end, Mxy is an arrogant bully who lords power over those that can't fight back, and The Shadow's a master of beating those by turning their arrogance against them. It's Duck Amuck, except Bugs is a mind-breaking sadist and Daffy has to fight back.

I imagine something akin to a particularly funny scene from a story called Face of Doom, where a gangster traps The Shadow in a room surrounded by armed henchman so he can enlist him into taking down the city's leading criminal, The Face. The Shadow unmasks himself as Cranston to gain his trust, and the two proceed to talk plans. I'll post the sequence below

Calmly, The Shadow was removing his slouch hat. His arms spread, the black cloak began to drop from his shoulders. Clipper's nervousness changed to elation. If ever a criminal fooled himself, Clipper did so at that moment.

Though The Shadow voiced no agreement to Clipper's offer, the crook was confident that it was sealed. The Shadow was taking a step that no other criminal had ever witnessed.

When Clipper's squinty eyes saw the hawkish features of Lamont Cranston, the crook displayed another of his downward grins. There wasn't any question about the prisoner really being The Shadow.

"A ritzy mug, ain't you?" voiced Clipper. "Well, that makes you the real McCoy. One thing we'd all figured, Shadow — we guessed you was a high-hat guy.

"'You don't get out of here until The Face is croaked! Say, though — maybe one of your ritzy friends could put up a good front with The Face."

"There are others, who might serve. I have agents, you know."

A shrewd gleam brought new ugliness to Clipper's eyes. He had heard of The Shadow's agents. It would be smart stuff—using them to get The Face, then disposing of them afterward. Clipper couldn't hide the eagerness that betrayed his new scheme.

"Good stuff," agreed Clipper. "But how am I going to reach those guys and get them to work with me? They only take orders from you, don't they?"

In reply, Clipper saw Cranston pick up the black cloak and hat. He handed the garments to the crook. For the moment, Clipper was puzzled; then he saw Cranston's hand extend the discarded gloves.

"I get it," chuckled Clipper. "You want me to rig up like I was you. Then the guys that work for you will listen to me. How do you handle them—with some password?"

"Usually," replied The Shadow. "Try on the cloak and hat first, Clipper. I must study the appearance that you make."

It seemed like a give-away of The Shadow's game. Any one could stage this Shadow stuff. All he had to do was masquerade in black, spring a shivery laugh, and shoot quick with his guns. If Cranston could pull it, Clipper could.

The Shadow spends a couple of paragraphs calmly walking Clipper through the steps necessary to pull off a convincing Shadow performance, almost like he's directing him. And then this happens:

The back of Clipper's neck was exposed. Though The Shadow's voice was still the leisurely tone of Cranston, his left hand had lost its laziness. Behind Clipper's back, that fist whipped an automatic from a shoulder holster. Clipper didn't scent the move until the muzzle of the .45 iced his neck.

"It won't work, Shadow," rasped Clipper. "You know it as well as I do! One pop from that gat of yours, the mob will pile in and croak you! There's a wicket in that door; they'll use it!"

The Shadow had shifted low behind Clipper's back. The crook could no longer observe the reflection of Cranston's face. He could still feel the pressure of the gun muzzle on his flesh. "Climb off my neck, Shadow," warned Clipper. "It ain't getting you nowhere!"

It was getting The Shadow further than Clipper guessed. The gun muzzle was actually gone from Clipper's neck. His impression that it rested there was merely an after effect, from former pressure.

Crouched low, The Shadow had now reached the door. Before Clipper guessed what was up, The Shadow twisted the door knob. Wrenching the door inward, he pulled himself behind it.

At the same moment, The Shadow snapped a quick command, in a rasp that resembled Clipper's own harsh tone:

"The Shadow's yours, gang! Croak him!"

It ends for Clipper about as well as you'd expect.

One of the things I like most about Mxy is that you can't take shortcuts with him. It's not like how it is with Riddler stories, where you can half-ass the riddles because you know Batman's gonna win once he touches Riddler and the story's gonna end in a punch-up, Mxyzptlk is completely invincible unless you solve the puzzle he presents, and you'd think of course that, surely, he can't fall for it this time.

He's a wise guy, see, he's seen all of Superman's tricks by now, and what's that dumb old Shadow gonna do that he can't see a mile away? This is almost too easy.

It's so easy, in fact, that The Shadow even agrees, he's lost it completely, and the way he could possibly beat Mxyzptlk is by calling one of his agents to save him, and he's prepared a list of some of his smartest, cleverest agents for this moment. But, no, he wouldn't dare put them in such danger against this invincible, immortal genius, someone has to take this list from him and run, but ZOINKS, Mxy's taken the list. So he's gonna start seeing who is it that the Shadda thinks is smart enough to take him.

Clyde BurKe? Like some dimestore journalist's gonna have a shot, just cause he solves crossword puzzles. Lamont Cranston, yeah, more like, LAMEONT CRANSTON. Harry VincenT, who, the dumb kid who tried jumping off a bridge once? Come on, you gotta give me a hand here, Shadda! Let's see, Pietro, what, some cook? Ya kidding? Moe ShrevnitZ...actually, Shrevy's allright, scratch that one. ShrevY, hey, come on, that's cheating, ya just put Shrevnitz's name again, ya dum-dum. Mr Xanadu, hmm, catchy name but probably not a real guy. And Margo Lane. Yeah, smart dame that one, she could probably figger something out. And ya keep writing everyone's name's weird - WAIT

I KNOW WHAT YER TRYING TO DO HERE.

I KNOW YOU GOT SOME CLEVER SCHEME HERE, I'D SEEN THIS BEFORE, IT'S AN OLD TRICK.

This might be a lengthy post, but I feel like getting into why Iyami’s characterization was so good last episode! It’s really not apparent if you take it at face value because Iyami is a complex dude like that, but we’ve seen a lot of something we don’t see very often: we’ve seen Iyami being altruistic. In his own Iyami way, of course.

Like, at the beginning, when he first realizes the city is full of aliens passing for regular people, we don’t see what happens right after that. We see Iyami panic, so he must have been checking out as many people as he can with the sunglasses on to see if they were aliens or not. And at one point, he realizes all six of the Matsuno brothers have been replaced by aliens.

Now, that’s no secret to anyone: Iyami isn’t a very good person. He’s a man who almost always acts on his own best interest and doesn’t care much about what happens to other people as long as nothing bad happens to him. He said it himself: he didn’t really want to fight the aliens. It was just going through unnecessary trouble to him. He didn’t have anything to gain by involving someone else into this situation. And yet! He reached out to Matsuzō to let him know his sons weren’t truly his sons. That’s no grand gesture in of itself. You could argue he was just scared and didn’t want to face the invasion alone, and that could very well be the case. But I still say it was out of some concern for the sextuplets. And I have two reasons to say this:

The first one is that Iyami isn’t particularly close to Matsuzō. Well, Iyami isn’t very close to anyone but Chibita, but of all the side characters, I’d say he trusts the Matsuno parents the least. Historically, they have rarely been on the same side. He rarely sees eye to eye with them and I can see him trusting pretty much all of the other side characters over the parents. If he was just scared, he could have reached out to one of the others. But his first reaction after seeing the sextuplets had been replaced was to try and tell one of their parents. They could have handwaved this by saying all of the others had been replaced, but that wasn’t the case. The second reason though, is what leads me to believe we’ve seen a rare display of Iyami acting out of concern for the sextuplets, and that’s how incredibly stubborn he was in making Matsuzō put on the sunglasses and see things by himself!

There’s no way around it: Iyami is selfish and preoccupied with himself first and foremost. You’d expect that, as soon as Matsuzō brushed him off (by insulting him, to boot!) he’d give up on the idea of telling him. He doesn’t really care, right? But instead, he got into a physical brawl with Matsuzō, and it wasn’t a fight he had the upper hand on! He got thrown around like a ragdoll a LOT, way more often than he got to hit Matsuzō. If he hadn’t decided to bite him, he’d have lost that fight very easily. But that’s how intent he was on letting him know!

The second thing that stood out to me was the whole exchange about Matsuzō being tired of providing for his family:

At first, I took it at face value: Iyami doesn’t have a job. He has no family, so he only has to provide for himself. He doesn’t understand you can’t just walk away from it all. It’s just him being selfish as usual. But after this conversation ended and Matsuzō pleaded with Iyami to help him find his sons, I suddenly interpreted it in a whole different way: This is Iyami’s way to tell Matsuzō to quit complaining because he’s lucky to have what he has.

Of course, this is my personal interpretation but I can’t unsee it now: Matsuzō comments it must be easy being like Iyami, living only for himself and not caring about anything and says he’s tired of giving all he has for his family. This strikes a nerve with Iyami. “You’re tired of putting effort in caring about your family?” He says. “Then leave your job. Leave them. Don’t you want to be just like me?”

You can say Iyami is free. He doesn’t have a job or people who depend on him. But he doesn’t see himself as lucky. He leads a pretty miserable existence. Begging and stealing and scamming people to have something to eat. He probably wouldn’t admit it, but maybe... a small part of him wanted what Matsuzō has. Stability. People who would be by his side no matter what. So he calls Matsuzō out. Yeah, his family can be a handful. But thanks to them, he’s not alone. He’s got people to come home to every day. Why the hell would he want to be like Iyami? That’s just foolish. That’s what he’s saying, in his own unpleasant way. Matsuzō picks up on that, and the very next thing he asks for is help to find his children. He loves his family, as much as they’re not perfect.

This episode, along with the “sheeh!” skit in which Iyami teaches the AI robots how to sheeh paint a very different picture of Iyami than the goofy, unpleasant, larger than life crook he’s usually shown as, especially in -san exclusive material. He’s all those things, yes, but he’s also... kinda lonely. He’s abrasive as all hell, and probably too emotionally constipated to express it anyway, but, maybe in place of the fame he once had and lost, he craves something. He wants the attention of the people around him, or, at the very least... he wants them close. The world isn’t as fun without them around, anyway.

hongjoong ━ making playlists for each other

it’s no secret that hongjoong loves music and there is no doubt in my mind that hongjoong would show affection through music. whether it is covering his partner’s favourite song, quietly sitting with them and just listening to some music together while basking in each other’s presence or even writing whole songs for his partner, a lot of his love and appreciation would be expressed through music.

the first playlist he made for you was meant to be a distraction. a playlist filled with love songs for you to listen to when he’s gone or too busy to see you. now it has become somewhat of a tradition for you two to make playlists for each other. he’s been especially stressed? you make him a playlist with soft, relaxing songs he can listen to. you’re sad because you miss him? he makes you a playlist with a plethora of love songs, showing you how much he loves you without having to say it.

seonghwa ━ taking baths together

he’s stressed a lot and sometimes the best way to unwind and let your muscles relax is taking a bubble bath. and taking a bubble bath with his love? count him in. he’d probably go out of his way to buy bath bombs andscented candles to make the experience as wholesome and relaxing as possible.

it all started out when you offered to prepare a bath for him after he came home sweaty, exhausted and in pain. of course he agreed, having his partner pamper him being a way too good opportunity to pass up. he serenaded you enough to get you into the bath with him and he’s convinced that he’s never felt closer to you. the bath wasn’t only relaxing his muscles, it relaxed his mind and healed his heart from all the stress and pain he was going through at that moment. ever since that day the two of you take baths together regularly, every time one of you felt off you resorted to taking a bath together, enjoying each other’s company in the colourful scented water.

yunho ━ cooking together

this man would love to do things that make him feel sophisticated. what is more sophisticated than cooking with your partner?? not only does he get to feel like a husband, he also gets to try out new dishes with his partner or have them cook their childhood favourites for him. it gives him a certain feeling of security and makes a rush of adoration run through his veins.

seeing you cut up some of the vegetables while he’s still busy washing the others in the sink makes his heart swell and head spin. is this what it would be like if you were married? his mind is running a mile an hour, pictures of you two together in the kitchen, arguing over the right measurements while a gorgeous ring is adorning your finger. his lips form a goofy smile at the thought of getting to marry you one day, hoping that cooking together would become a tradition after getting married as well.

yeosang ━ reading together

he’d really enjoy reading with his partner. it makes him feel sophisticated, in a way? like yeah, i’m sitting here with my baby next to me, reading and discussing the plot and criticising the character’s decisions.

he’d most likely let you choose the book, wanting to see what genre and plot line you would pick. no matter how long you’ve been together, he would always be able to learn something about you by simply observing your tastes in music, literature, movies or even food. even if it would be a genre he wouldn’t be too particularly interested in, he’d be up for it and might even come to the conclusion that your literary taste was way more similar than he thought and that the two of you definitely should make this a weekly occurrence.

san ━ watching shows together

it doesn’t matter whether it’s a current show or a show from two decades ago: san and his partner will be watching the designated show together and together only. one of them watches an episode without the other? get your wallet out because now you’re paying for a three course dinner. he likes going out for dates, but stay-in dates like these were precious to him.

he loves to be a bit extra every time the two of you have a stay-in date. too much take out for two people to eat, a number of drinks and snacks that is definitely unnecessary and, of course, a pillow fort. sometimes he’ll chuck in some fairy lights but all he wants to do right now is have you sit cuddled up next to him, munching on your chinese take out while complaining about yet another idiotic decision made by the main character.

mingi ━ wearing couple outfits

mingi would absolutely love (!!) wearing couple outfits. if his partner wasn’t up for whole couple outfits he’d definitely try to persuade them into wearing matching items. maybe matching socks? beanies? shoes? anything that enables him to look at his partner and himself and feel a rush of pride come over him because hell yeah!! those socks are the exact same ones i’m wearing!! do y’all see that?? best couple!! no one can compare!!

it has become somewhat of a tradition for mingi to turn up at your doorstep with a shopping bag in his hands and a lovestruck smile on his face. your collection of couple items ranged from jewellery to shoes, from hats to jackets, from hoodies to gloves - mingi loves to show your relationship off in a subtle, classy way. if someone asks if you two planned on wearing eerily similar jackets he would be all cocky and be like yeah, i bought them. what about it?? and if you ever decide to buy something for you two to match? may god help you because you won’t get out of his arms for the next three days.

while a relationship with woo would be rather playful and flirty, he’d still be extremely good at reading his partner. had a bad day? he knows before you even enter the house. feeling sad out of nowhere? he sees it in the way your shoulders suddenly deflate. something good happened? he can tell by the tone of your voice.

whenever he feels that you’ve been having a hard time, he whips out his little post-it note pad and starts writing a few dozen motivational messages down. once he’s done he makes sure to put them in places where you will definitely see them. your mirror, wardrobe, shoe rack, next to your bag, on the door, on your car, on your phone, on your brush - everywhere. you keep finding them throughout the day, making the frown on your face disappear message by message.

jongho ━ taking courses together

jongho would be up for almost anything as long as it involves his partner. they want to learn how to dive? he’s already booking an appointment. trying to learn how to sew socks? he’s getting bandaids ready for all the times one of you will get hurt by the needles. they want to try skydiving? he’s scared but would probably consider it. the best thing about this is that he not only gets to spend time with his partner but he also gets to experience new things. it’s a win-win for him.

was he interested in pottery? no, not one bit. but he still agreed to taking a pottery course for beginners, simply because it seemed like a fun experience. the two of you tried you best and at the end of the day you went home with deformed bowls and mugs and clay splatters all over your clothes. was the course worth the money? probably not, but he wouldn’t exchange the experience for the world.
