Ruggie, Trey: More and More
TWST once again picks the most INCRIMINATING villain shots to display in the picture frames 😭 I am BEGGING the museum curator to do better/j
A Tale as Old as Time.
Tumblr media
A lion cub, a warthog, and a meerkat.
It was an odd trio, a group of animals that, under normal circumstances, would never be together. Certainly not like this—not grinning, snuggling up with each other. Carnivore, herbivore, omnivore. Sharing the lives they had, joined in heart and in song.
No worries for the rest of their days.
Ruggie snickered behind one hand. Man, ain't that the dream?
"They've got nice smiles."
The hyena's ears perked. His eyes shifted to a Heartslabyul student gazing upon the same painting. Tall, built well, in glasses.
"Come again?"
"Their teeth," Trey clarified, pointing. "You see? They have different shapes based on their diet. Warthogs mainly eat vegetables, so they have strong, flat molars for crushing plants. But lions are carnivores, so their teeth are sharper for slicing through meat. And meerkats--"
"Okay, I get it already! Now quit it, you sound almost as creepy as Rook." Ruggie groaned. "Can't believe you take one look at this and your first thought is what's in their mouths."
"You don't?" The joke fell flat, and Trey let it go "How about you? What's your first thought when you look at this? If I'm remembering correctly, this painting is based on a story from your country. Does it have significance to you?"
"Eh, it’s some story about a warthog and a meerkat coming together to raise a lost cub they found."
"Really." Trey's eyebrows raised. "How did they manage to feed a baby lion? They probably need a lot of protein, and I don't think a warthog and a meerkat could hunt enough for it."
"Nah, they figured something out." He pinched his thumb and index finger together, peering through the small gap between them and right at the vice dorm leader. "Bugs."
"Bugs?!" Trey startled.
"Yup, there's plenty of 'm and they're packed full of protein for a growing young prince.”
“Prince?”
“Did I not mention it before? Turns out that the lion cub was a missing prince, and they had no idea. When the prince was all grown up, he returned to claim his kingdom with the warthog and the meerkat. The animals were able to get over their differences and live together in harmony. It all started with bugs—that’s pretty resourceful, isn’t it?”
"I didn’t think there would be a twist that wild from a story that started with eating bugs. We sometimes eat flowers in the Queendom, but usually as a garnish or for a snack, not for a whole meal. Is it a cultural difference...?"
Ruggie shrugged. "Sometimes you don't have much of a choice in what you eat. If life hands you lemons when you're starving, are you going to turn it down? 'Course not."
I can't afford that kind of luxury.
"Well, when you put it like that..." Trey gave a light laugh. "You're going to make me hungry too."
"I'd kill for a big roast pork right about now. Fat, sweet, and juicy, the meat so tender if falls off the bone once ya sink your teeth into it..." Ruggie drooled at the thought. "Yeah, if you just shoved an apple into the warthog's mouth, glaze it with honey, and slow cook it over a fire, I bet it'd be real tasty."
"It sounds like you’ve always got food on your mind.” Trey folded his arms, lips tugging back into a lopsided smirk. “Kinda gruesome when you talk about the prep work like that though.”
“We wouldn’t have any food if we didn’t hunt and gather. ‘S how the circle of life works.”
His gaze slanted toward the painting of the happy trio. A unification, food shared from the same platter—it sparked some desperate hope in him.
A world where kings and hyenas can be friends… Heh, maybe I’m asking for too much.
But he was greedy like that. Seeking more and more, his hunger never fully satisfied.
Ruggie shook his head, letting dirty blonde locks fall across his face. “Maybe it’s news to you, but beastmen don’t exactly see eye to eye with other beastmen. That’s why it’s practically a miracle that those three get along. It’s a tale they tell us in the Sunset Savanna to remind us of what we could be, united under one true kingdom. It’s just that: a story.”
“It’s a nice story,” Trey said simply. “And it would be even nicer if it came true.”
It would.
“It’ll be a looong time before that happens. It’s about as real as my dreams of a roast pork dinner.”
Ruggie sighed as he drew his arms up, hands resting behind his head. He reclined back in that lazy, devil-may-care pose.
Trey watched him, his mustard yellow eyes shifting slightly. “… Are you baiting me to offer to make you some?”
“What?” The hyena feigned shock. “Me, trying to get my hands on free grub? Nooooo, I’d never!”
Trey stared at him indignantly. “You’re not being very subtle there…”
Ruggie showed his teeth. “Was I supposed to be?”
“Maybe you’d have better luck getting a formal invite from Riddle first. I don’t usually prepare whole hams for a single guest either—it’s usually a group meal, so you’d have to share.”
“Tch. Whatever, can’t blame a hyena for testing out a shortcut, can you?”
“Ahahah… I’m slightly concerned that you’d even attempt to have an entire pig to yourself. Your appetite must be legendary.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
More and more—he wanted it all. Gluttony, a sin to the common man. To him, a desire for something greater than this.
He saw it now, a kingdom built upon the jagged cliffs. His kind and other scorned creatures. creeping out from the darkness and into the moonlight. They all looked to the one that stood far above them, the one that would lead them to that shining future.
Someday, it will come.
Ruggie spun, his back presented to the painting. A spotlight upon the trio, and the shadows closing in on his own face.
Even so, his smile was as big and as bright as ever.
“Nishishishishi! Don’t worry so much, Trey-kun~ Just be happy—hakuna matata!”

Art Forgery
Self-Aware! Dazai Osamu x GN! Reader
Tumblr media
Description: Second week living with BSD Cast. Dazai has a present for you. A very interesting present.
Kind of a sequel to Television
Warning: OOC. Crack-ish. Mentioning of BSD author, artist, seiyūs and voice actors. Shortish. English is my second language.
_____
You were frozen with fear, staring at Dazai's present.
"So, do you like it?" Dazai tilted his head, smiling.
You didn't answer. You still hopped, that it was a hallucination. You close your eyes and shake your head, hoping to chase away this supposed 'hallucination'.
You opened your eyes again. It was still here.
"[Y/N]? Guiding Light? My cute Iris Flower? Are you okay?" Dazai sounded worried. You gulped, and asked.
"I... I... Dazai, did you draw it yourself?" You pointed at the painting he gave you. The same painting, that was a silent witness of Hirotsu's and Dazai's talk after The Guild was defeated.
Dazai looked away, scratching the back of his neck.
"No, but I am pretty sure, I can paint the similar one. I remembered, how you called this painting beautiful, so, before going to this world, I took it from the Art Museum." Dazai looked at you again, his eyes soften. "Present for you. It will look good in the new house, am I right?"
Dazai Osamu, took a painting, that, in this world, were painted by his real-life counterpart. He took it from the museum, that is based on the real-life Yokohama museum. And gave it to you. To put on a wall in a new house.
You take a better look at the painting. It looked real... Real in not being a photo, or replica. It was a real painting, with some brush strokes being visible.
You let out a whimper. You don't recall any resent news about Dazai Osamu's painting being stolen from Yokohama Art Museum.
Does it mean, that now there are two same real paintings by Dazai Osamu in this world?
And one of them will be on your wall.
A bizarre scenario flooded your mind.
You are forced to hold a Family Reunion in your new house.
Your less trustworthy relatives noticed the painting.
They saw, that it's real painting.
They stole it, while you weren't looking.
They try to sell it.
A few days later, police arrest them for art forgery.
Your relatives call you as the original owner of the painting.
You are arrested.
The expertise shows, that both paintings were made at the same time.
Real-life Dazai's family members are called. They said, that they have no idea, that a second painting existed. Moreover, they are sure, that it never existed.
Someone noticed the similarities between BSD Cast and anime characters.
Kafka and Harukawa are called. They discovered, that their characters are real and were living with you.
They insist on BSD Cast staying with them.
You are accused of copyright infringement
Studio 'Bones', Kadokawa Shoten and Yen Press joined the accusations.
Seiyūs and all dub actors joined the accusations.
You are alone and miserable, without friends or family...
"[Y/N], are you okay? You were looking at the painting for five minutes already... Can you, please, blink? Or did I break you?"
Dazai grabbed your shoulder and start shaking you.
You gasped, finally returning from the world of imagination. You looked around, making sure, that you are still in your apartment.
"I... I am fine. Dazai, this painting, we have one in this world. It was made by our world Dazai Osamu... And I am afraid, that it will cause trouble..."
You share your scenario with Dazai. Dazai looked like he would burst with laughter. When you finish talking, Dazai grin and gave you a side hug. He ruffled your hair.
"You are so adorable, when you are worried about silly things so much!" Dazai rubbed his cheek against the top of your head. "Do you really think, that something like that will happen?"
You opened your mouth, but quickly realized, that Dazai was right. It was an impossible scenario.
You closed your mouth and lay your head down on Dazai's shoulder.
"I was silly." mumbled you.
"Mhm" Dazai nodded.
"It is impossible." spoke you.
"Yup" Dazai's grin was sly.
"Still, without good reasons, my relatives won't be allowed in the house." You sighed.
"As you wished, My adorable Iris Flower." Dazai tickle your cheek.
"Thanks for the painting, it is nice." smiled you, putting your hand on Dazai's shoulder and squeezing it.
"No problems" Dazai kissed the top of your head.
It will be another small memory you made with your new friends. One, that you will recall with the smile on your face.
As long as there weren't The Louvre or The Hermitage in BSD World. You don't think, you will handle it, if Arthur and Verlaine bring you "Mona Lisa" as a birthday present, or Goncharov, Fyodor, Nikolai and Pushkin bring you "Madonna Litta" as a New Year gift.

Note
I need the slashers meeting a kid who's parents abandoned them and they become their parental figure. (Maybe ages 5-10)
Much love xxxx
Aw that's cute. I left out Freddy this time because we all know what he does to little children.
Slashers finding an abandoned child and taking them in
Jason Voorhees
He finds you stumbling through the forest all on your own, clutching a teddy bear to your chest, crying and calling out for your mother.
At your age, you have not quite heard of the Crystal Lake killer. You only know that the grown ups kept saying how dangerous this lake is and to never to there. And now your family drove you here, made you get out of the car and just... sped off.
At your age, you are positively *tiny* to Jason. He kneels down in front of you and, remembering what his mother used to to, pulls an old, tattered hankerchief out of his pocket to wipe down your tear- and snot covered face.
"D... do you know where my mommy went, mister?", you ask miserably, but even your little mind knew that she wouldn't be coming back.
Jason can understand your misery all too well. At the same time, he is furious that your family would do this. So it's decided. The feared Crystal Lake killer has a tiny apprentice now.
The Sinclair Brothers
Lester finds you walking along the road towards Ambrose, a stuffed animal in one hand and an almost empty waterbottle in the other. You look terrible, like you have been walking around for days without food. Your clothes are dirty and torn and your hands have bloody scratches on them.
He quickly gets out of his truck and asks where you came from.
You sniffle and tell him that your family promised to take you camping, and they told you to walk ahead and find a good spot, and they would catch up to you. But they never did.
There is of course the concern that your parents may have ended up being victims of his brothers. But there hadn't been any new victims in the past few days.
So he takes you to Ambrose, sure that his brothers wouldn't put their hands on a small child. And they don't.
Bo immediately finds himself reminded of his childhood, being the one left behind, and takes a liking to you. They give you some of their old childhood clothes, and some food. Vincent takes you to the wax museum, to show you all of the cool things he and his mother made. He might even teach you how to paint and do wax figures yourself. And just like that, the Sinclair family gained another member.
Brahms Heelshire
It is a cold and stormy day, when Brahms hears a soft knock at the front door. And there you are, in completely wrong clothes for the weather, wet down to your skin and crying.
He takes you in, thinking that hey, your parents are probably gonna come looking for you soon, right?
Except they never do.
Brahms gives you his childhood clothes, so you don't catch a cold, and tells you about his routine and that he actually always wondered what it would be like to have a little sibling.
The Sawyers
While the Sawyers are less likely to take in a random child than the Hewitts, it is not impossible. Nubbins finds you wandering along the Texas roads in the blistering heat, your little head completely red and your hair sticking to your skin with sweat.
He takes you to Drayton's gas station, and they have a kind of wordless conversation. Nubbins points at you with a grin, while you eye the meat being grilled in the small room, and Drayton eyes your small, malnourished frame, and shakes his head. Then gives you another, thoughtful look.
"You hungry, lil one?", he asks.
"Yes, mister", you reply.
Drayton generously takes a piece of rib and puts it on a paper plate for you. And once you scarfed down the meat, he grins at you.
"And what if I tell you that that was human meat?"
Your young mind doesn't quite understand what he just said, or just assumes he is joking. "Uh... okay? It was yummy though."
"It really is, isn't it. Look, kid, if ya don't know where to go, ya can go with us."
Bubba is absolutely thrilled when Drayton and Nubbins come home with you. He immediately introduces you to his chickens, and wants to make you your very own leather mask. Oh you are gonna have so much fun together! Bubba always wanted to have a younger sibling.

Anyway I've been here for six days now (basically a naturalised citizen) so here is what I have to say about China
Shit is CHEAP. Worryingly cheap. Don't think about it too much.
Their hourly minimum wage is the equiv of about $5AUD but that's reasonably proportionate to how much a meal is. Rent seems a bit more difficult though so I don't know how people manage that (cheap as dirt places go for 4000yuan a month or so)
People are REALLY nice, even security guards and cops and other people you'd assume would kind of give you a hard time. They'll have a laugh with you about stuff.
The country kind of feels like it's encased in a giant metaphorical glass dome - everything functions using their own special apps, special ways of doing things, etc etc. Breaking into it is difficult, but once you're "in", so to speak, it's very easy.
Public spaces including trains and buses are a bit of an "every man for himself" vibe. People will play their phone videos out loud and no one even gives a shit. Once a security guard on shift was just sitting there playing his 抖音 videos out loud with little concern for anything or anyone. It's not mayhem, but it's certainly no polite affair.
Your phone loses battery very quickly and unless you're just going for a walk it's impossible to leave home without it as any purchase is via WeChat, Alipay et al. Many times I had considered going for a phone free outing before realising it just couldn't be done.
China is beautiful and just about every place has something to offer. There are streets that are clearly just a result of a LOT of urban development being done very quickly but in terms of actual sites, it's hard to find a city that doesn't have something incredible in it.
Their coffee is top notch. Seriously approaching Melbourne level. I'm flabbergasted and slightly concerned because frankly Australia is bullied by China on the daily and our coffee is the only thing I knew for certain we had over them. Now I don't know what the fuck we're meant to do
Trains tend to be in English, even if it's not particularly big with foreigners, though I haven't gone to any suuuuper remote locations so I don't know about those. They're very well maintained; they're more or less indistinguishable from those in Japan, Korea etc.
Bikes and motorbikes don't have to follow traffic lights which will make you shit yourself the first couple times they ride right past you as you cross the road.
There is not as much propaganda around as I was expecting. My uni has a big statue of Mao but as it happens that's just cuz he has a history with this particular university. I haven't seen any pictures of Mao anywhere else that's not, like, a dedicated Spot for that sort of thing (think Tiananmen square etc). I saw one pic of Xi in a museum. Most propaganda is just asking people to become soldiers and cops and stuff. I was expecting it to be like Vietnam or something but it's basically non-existent.
No the social credit memes are not true unless everyone else can see mine and is just not telling me
Those world statistics weren't lying that country really can heavily populayed
People love taking photos of themselves but selfies are not too popular, so dedicated individuals will bring whole stands with lights and shit like that, as though they were dedicated cosplayers. Yesterday we saw a middle aged woman doing a sort of VR anime idol stream (I can't remember what they're called but the one where your face is overlayed with an anime avatar) in the middle of the bridge haha
^ and people will take these sorts of photos in front of ANYTHING. Even if it's... Slightly inappropriate by some standards. It's kind of funny.
People are generally quite chill and don't take themselves too seriously
I'll add more if I think of more

Masterlist
‎‎
Baji: Of course this baby boy is going to love the natural history museum with every bit of his heart ever since you invited him to go the first time. Has never stepped into a museum before, always though they were old people spaces and boring, like the library. But the moment he sees the taxidermy animals and even better, the spirit collection, his eyes light up. What's there not to like? Loves to look at evolution through the ages, especially the cats section and all their extinct ancestors, but doesn't understand much of the text or the science behind it. No worries though, Baji does make the effort to read up about his favorite exhibits. Though he would get embarrassed at being caught there (he's a big bad delinquent after all), would still accept any of your requests to accompany you to the museum. But don't except this baby boy to be interested in any other exhibit there - he will follow you around patiently for a maximum of an hour, until he has had enough and will physically put you over his shoulder and carry you back to the natural history exhibits.
Kazutora: Always had a thing for delinquent goods, so no doubt his favorite section of the museum would be military history, especially the collections of memorabilia they had on show. You were probably attuned with his interests, and had surprised him one day by simply dragging him along without telling Kazutora where you two were going. This baby boy was giddy that you two were on a 'date' of course, but even more so when he realized that you had made the effort to take him to go and see what you think he would be interested in, and you were spot on. Would spend hours with his jaw dropped looking at military history through time (his utmost favorite would probably be roman history), to which he would excitedly grab you to look at another piece that he found extremely interesting. Would absolutely refuse to look at anything but military history exhibits, would cry and beg and plead and just refuse to move. Would even buy a small souvenir to remember the occasion.
Mikey: Dinosaurs. Just- dinosaurs. Starry-eyed the moment he sees his first dinosaur skeleton, much more like a kid then the delinquent gang leader everyone feared when he steps foot in the museum. You had asked Mikey to accompany you to the museum on a school trip, promising him a handmade taiyaki if he accompanies you because some of the exhibitions scared you. This baby boy had been so reluctant at first, but then he laid eyes on the dinosaur and he was just. So. Impressed by how big they were. Just stands them in awe, asking you again and again to tell him more about the dinosaurs. And then of course he drags you off to look at more dinosaur fossils, the bigger the better. Somehow very confident that he could fight one and win, and likes the biggest of all the dinosaurs, which Mikey thought was a carnivore - the Argentinosaurusa, which was a herbivore, but you don't have the heart to tell him otherwise. Insists on buying a keychain of a dino fossil to carry around. You do manage to convince a sulking Mikey to follow you to the other "less interesting exhibits" though, but you'll have to piggyback him around.
Draken: Absolutely would be Engineering and Science. This boy had definitely been to the museum before, and has been back several times to look at and study the engineering and science sections in particular. Does a lot of self-study to learn more about engineering, and would be great friends with many of the museum stuff who help him with his learning, teaching him about the various machines. When you invite him to go along, Draken would be more than happy to. If you have an interest in engineering, it would certainly make this boy very happy to tell you more about each exhibit and the science and math behind it, but otherwise would be content with wandering around the museum, listening to you talk about anything and everything. Would even prod you about your favourite exhibits and learn about them so that he can discuss more with you. Has no problem looking at other exhibits, anything that you want, as long as he got to spend time with you.
Mitsuya: No doubt, the art museum would long already be a mainstay of Mitsuya's downtime visits - he loves to spend time looking at both classics and modern pieces, taking inspiration for his fashion. Would be delighted if you choose to visit his favourite museum and exhibits, hooking his arm in yours and telling you everything that he likes about the art piece, be it a painting, statue or figure. Would be even happier if you knew enough to could discuss the finer details with him, but wouldn't be at all angry if you didn't. Mitsuya would just be happy to have someone to share his passion with, as opposed to the rest of the Toman boys who have no care for art. But Mitsuya would be happy to go to any museum and exhibit with you, taking the pamphlets and reading the little blurbs about them, noting which ones he can bring his little sister to see as well. And when you do point out your favourites, Mitsuya would even make you a little souvenir so that you remember your trip to the museum with him.
Pah-chin: Pah would have a love/hate relationship with exhibitions showing gaming/arcade and electronics history. Loves arcades, and would be sad to see all the types of consoles and games that were now out of production and he would never get to play or try out. Interestingly, this boy would also be interested in the any land use exhibition, and would get you to explain to him everything and anything that he doesn't understand. But don't get him wrong, Pah still loves the electronics section the best. Would drag you off to the arcade after for a good gaming session too. Really can't be bothered about much else in the museum, and would keep dragging you back to what he wants to see.
The mess would be when you try to explore a museum with all of the Toman boys present, each of them insisting that you go with them to go and see their favourite exhibit. Hopefully you go manage to calm your boys down and get them to agree to go see a neutral exhibit, if not you might have to spend the rest of the day getting tugged and pulled and outright hoisted off.

I don't know if this 100% falls under whump, or if it's just asexual somnophilia, but I love various types of guards being nonlethally taken down by sneaky figures in black. I'm going to describe two scenarios, one male and one female, and the male one is first because I know some of you are uncomfortable with female whumpees.
A dude's just strolling through the museum, thinking about his midnight lunch break, when there's a sudden sting in the side of his neck and he grabs at it only to come away with a red-fletched metal dart in his hand.*
He makes some kind of confused remark ("The Hell - ?") and grabs for his radio, but it slips out of fingers that suddenly feel fat and uncooperative. An arm slides around his waist as his knees give, and then the blast of euphoria hits his brain and everything feels great. He gapes at a blurry figure above him, heavy-eyed, as he starts to float.
"Everything is all right," a gentle voice tells him. "You can go to sleep."
He doesn't remember why anything would be wrong with that. He doesn't even remember to fight it. He slides off into a warm, happy dream as his entire body goes limp.
Another guard is patrolling some warehouse full of crates whose contents she knows nothing about when something clatters off to her left. She spins toward it, drawing her weapon, only to realize there's a canister spewing white smoke rolling toward her feet. She holds her breath as she turns to try and get out of range, then twitches and gasps at another noise from directly in front of her. It's another canister, and she's just taken a deep breath of something that burns slightly and smells like chemical roses.
She janks right and runs between the tall shelves, but her entire body feels heavy and odd. She realizes she forgot to try and hold her breath again. She can see the roses now, hovering all around like a magic thicket. Something hits her right side, and she realizes it's the shelf. Where'd the weapon go? She must have lost it in the thicket. The smell of roses is so strong and she feels so tired, suddenly. Something bumps into her knee. It's the floor. She fumbles at the shelving, but it's like she's being pulled toward the center of the earth, like gravity is so much stronger than before.
She slides over sideways. A hand catches her so she doesn't bang her head, lowering her to the floor. There's something dark above her, but she can't see it clearly.
"Thanks," she mumbles.
"You're welcome, dear. Shh, now." A hand strokes her hair. It feels lovely, lights up her whole head and spine like a rainbow with soft, sleepy tingling. She stretches her legs and shivers involuntarily, overpowered by the feeling, and as it fades, she fades with it. She's never slept as well as she will on that concrete floor tonight.
*There are no human trank darts irl. There's no consistent way to administer a correct dosage, and basically no substances knock a person all the way out for long without paralyzing breathing. With animals this is less of a concern because they don't have to be unconscious, just too groggy to resist being tagged, medicated, loaded into a truck, etc. And real trank darts are a very specific design that looks like an awkwardly long syringe to accommodate the rocker membrane that does the injection on contact. But I am willing to suspend disbelief on the fake metal movie dart with the little red feathers, because I like it. I'm willing to just make up fantasy meds.

Okay, okay... I had another au idea... It's a bit like the 🌺Lotus Eater AU, but... this would be its cousin au, kinda? Their themes match a bit, so do a few elements, but they're both stand-alone AUs?
I call this one... 🌸This Could Be Paradise🌙 (AU)...
A basic plot/premise for it would go something like this:
Reader wakes up on a strange (what they assume is an) island, but it's rather... big. It has fresh water almost in every water environment, it has plentiful fruits and vegetables and even prey animals, such as fish and chickens and cows... It's... quiet, though.
Then, one day, someone shows up.
(I'm going to say... Gambit... becausewe need a bit of comfort and so does he, after @][>)÷= @][>)÷=) (and he's a fun character, who's like a big brother/fun uncle)
And for once since they've been there, Reader feels hopeful and not wary, because this is someone they know, someone who is usually easy to talk to, and will likely have a plan to get off wherever they are.... Except he doesn't. He's acting... weird. According to him, he knows only his name and a few faces; otherwise, he doesn't remember anything besides waking up in a dark cavern on the island...
Reader is understandably freaked out.
Okay, the man with the plan doesn't remember much, if anything. So that leaves Reader as the idea person. Okay. They'll try to work with that.
Good news: The island isn't hostile and has plenty to eat and drink. There's no violent or crazy people so far. And if there IS a problem, they aren't currently running from it, so that's a plus. Does that make the situation good? ... No, not really. But it does make it better than 85% of most other insane situations they've been in. Bad news: They're (possibly?) alone on an unknown island. They haven't seen anyone else. And the only one of them who knows enough to remember they're in a weird, if not bad, situation, is Reader. Not the worst situation they've been in, again. But not ideal, either. So their plan?
They get to explore every inch of the island they're on, until something pops up that can help them.
It works.... albeit after three days of trying to explain Remy's life to him, with him mostly not believing Reader, or thinking they're very creative, but not remembering things correctly. They find a large, grandiose, very very odd... house? mansion? mall? city?... whatever it is. It's very big, it's spacious, and it's clean, from what they can tell. There are buildings within this one large one? Yet it doesn't make sense. (How can any of these places be here?) There are a few museums, galleries, aquariums, cafes... large rooms full of blankets and pillows and beddings... even things likes pools and gardens and balconies and whatever else one can imagine. Reader and Gambit, after going deeper inside the vast place, do find someone... It's one of their friends/teammates/mentors... (Reader is so glad that Gambit recognizes that mutant, because maybe now someone will think they aren't crazy)... Yeah. So, they do think Reader is the odd one out. According to them, they've been there the entire time, and they don't remember ever not being there...
Reader is rightfully scared now.
The two of them are invited to join the others, and while Gambit accepts, happy to see more of the people he remembers, Reader hesitates. They eventually accept, but keep their distance. Each step they take, every turn and new hall and new room, only makes them feel more on edge... They eventually meet with the others. For the most part, things seem okay on a surface level. But deeper? Most of them either don't remember anything before waking up in the buildings or cavern, or they simply change the subject... So Reader, while the others are distracted, slips away, going to find the root of the problem...
And somehow, they don't find anything.
The island is mostly empty, save for the animals and some diffent environments, but otherwise? There aren't any other buildings beside the... whatever the big one was. There aren't any other people there that Reader can tell. And they seem to be the only one who remembers... anything. No one seemed hurt. No one was unhappy. But... what the fr*ck is going on?
They find their answer when they eat a few odd flowers/fruits...
Their taste is sweet, saccharine... Their colors are appealing, inviting... Their scent is calming, heavy... But when Reader takes a bite...
It's like they can't remember a few things. And when they take another, smaller bite... those memories only blur further...
Suffice to say, they toss the flower/fruit as far from them as they can, and go to tell the others.
They do get to the building, navigating the complicated corridors and halls, and eventually find one of the adults. Reader explains everything, and the adult agrees with them, at the least saying it makes sense... only to then ask what's wrong with it. Leaving Reader confused and growing more nervous by each minute. The adult points out that they realize they are not from there, that they've known the entire time, but... do they really want to go back to where they used to be? What they remember, the few things not completely blurred out or wiped from their mind, depicts nightmares, hatred, fear, violence... So they ask Reader if that's what they remember too, and if so, are they really wanting to go back to that? To trade what is ultimately a safe haven, a paradise for all of them, for what sounds like H*ll?
Reader is quiet for a moment... and then they leave.
They're alone. None of their friends/family/teammates believe them, or they if they do, they're purposefully keeping quiet about the truth. Except... They get an idea. What if maybe the flowers/fruits act as a mind control/brainwashing thing as well? It's sweet as sugar, it smells like lavender and honey and chamomile, it's nice to look at... so what if it's purpose isn't just to make everyone's mind be wiped, but it was made or specialized to make them want to stay that way as well? ... It's gutsy, is what it is. And to find out, Reader is going to have to be very careful... There's one person who has been around them, and despite thinking they're odd, they'll likely go along with what Reader has planned: Remy...
Reader is careful, approaching him. They ask if he's willing to help them figure something out, to see if they're crazy or not... And they feel guilty when his eyes soften and he's trying to say they're not; yet Reader asks if he can let them explain... With a nod as their answer, they do: He and the others eat a sweet flower/fruit, and drink whatever juices or nectar come from it, right? Well... what would happen if they stopped eating it? Just for a while? Reader sighs in relief when Gambit agrees, then asks if they can keep it a secret until their test/game is over... which he agrees to, if only to cheer them up and calm them down...
Spending a week watching everyone and making sure their plan isn't found out is difficult. It's trying, especially when Reader is trying not to draw attention to themself or what they and Remy are doing... It's even harder when no matter what the conversation is about, Reader feels like they can't really say much because they know too much, and they'll be written off or considered more insane... Yet finally, (praise the heavens finally) five days have passed, and they can check on Remy... and they feel guilty, seeing how he seems nervous and fidgety for once. Because apparently they were right. It only takes a few pokes and prods at his memory for everything to come back, and Reader is soon trying to comfort him, because now he knows, too, and he isn't sure how to get them out. Somehow, after talking over what Reader's found, they devise a plan...
They need to leave. As soon as possible. If they can get someone else to follow them, then if they're too busy searching, then the two of them can try to drag them with them so they can make a rescue plan. Their one problem? Who to pick...
Whomever they choose, Reader is apologizing the entire way to them, all while Remy keeps trying to keep the peace between the three of them and keep them from running off. They have at most a week or two before they're caught, if they're lucky. Slowly, while they stay hidden and keep moving, the person they caught slowly feels the effects slipping away... And they slowly try to get Reader to confirm what is or isn't true, asking what their plan is...
And then during one night, it all goes south...
Remy wakes up to find their third member is missing, so he goes to find them, or at the least goes to see if they are on their side or not... Before he can find them, he's caught by a few of the adult platonic yans, who explain that they can't let them leave... Something saccharine and honey is forced into his mouth, and when's he's forced to swallow, his mind starts to blur around the edges... He tries to fight it, tries to fight them, but each movement sends him stumbling, to the point he's being held up... The last thing he hears before he blacks out is a soft apology, then everything fades to nothing...
Reader wakes up, possibly sensing the danger, and realizes they're alone. They carefully call out for Remy, then the other friend/teammate... And are met with cold, crushing silence. In a heartbeat they're up, staggering through the dark and hunting for any clues they can find... They stumble upon where Remy was caught, and a bit off is another area, showing signs of a struggle... and Reader realizes they truly are on their own now...
Reader goes to rescue them, able to enter and explore the behemoth building without any problem or kerfuffle... But everything in the building is so... quiet... Dark... A secret threat waiting to pounce... Reader manages to find a hall that smells of antiseptic and that thick, heavy scent of honey and nectar, and goes down it. They stumble into a lab area, soon finding Remy incapacitated, and Reader takes a step forward...
Only to hear a shift behind them, barely dodging just in time.
They weren't alone in the room. They'd been followed the whole time.
A few of the adults are there, and in the dim light of the shadows, Reader can almost swear their eyes glow a soft, faint pink. They say they need to stay still, and let themself be taken care of... That they've been feeling unwell, and that it's not necessary for them to hold on to the past, to the pain...
Reader runs, darting away from the hands that go to grab them. They're able to keep distance between themself and the others, carefully not to touch anything or slip... Yet when they notice one is missing...
Something heavy slams into them, holding them still, and the next thing they know something pricks them... A gentle feeling fills them, soft and sleepy and quiet, yet no matter how Reader tries to break free, they're soon limp, limbs heavy and head foggy, as they're carried to a medical table. Something... someone... says something, but it's faded before Reader registers what it is... Something wraps around their wrists, then their ankles... an object is placed against their face, forcing something sweet and thick into their senses... and slowly, everything fades...
(Reader wakes up awhile later, and are told they and Remy are going to be forced to forget what happened, their past, everything before waking up on the island... That it's for their own good, for everyone's good, and that they're only going to hurt themselves trying to escape. And for what? To go back to a world that hates them? That reviles them? A world that almost killed them? No... They'll be safer, healthier, happier, where they are. All they have to do is let themselves be taken care of, to let them get the medicine, that honeyed, nectary sweetness, back into their system, and everything will be okay... Just take calm, deep breaths, and let them handle everything, okay? They've got them... they're safe... Just take a deep breath... and relax...)
(Reader has a plan to escape, but... that is for part two...😉) (If you have questions about this AU, or the 📒Mutant High🧪 AU or 🖤Dark AU, feel free to ask them! I'm just not doing requests at the moment😊)

I am. Quaking over Crowley and Hanna cause AUGH they're so adorable. Getting up into antics! What do you think some of their adventures would be? Chaos at the nursery garden stores? Lurking in woods to find creatures? Sorry I just really wanna know.
Tumblr media
"Can we get a 'wahoo'?"
First off thank you for the perfect reason to post this sketch!
I cannot even begin to imagine the terrors they rain on the general public tbh. Between Crowley still feeling jilted and Hanna feeling free for the first time, the limit is really their imaginations (of which they both posses quite a fair bit).
In fairness since this little au I'm simmering takes place pretty soon after the end of s2, they probably don't do a lot of REALLY outlandish stuff for a while. They'll stay local, probably spend time with Nina and Maggie and probably end up meeting the Them at some point. Crowley would also probably want to try and keep inconspicuous (hah) with heaven and hell looming over their heads and now with a squishy thing to protect. I LOVE the garden center chaos idea btw, shoutout anon, and Crowley's little pseudo Eden is definitely going to rapidly expand into a vibrant and terrified indoor oasis (skylights included). Shops in general are going to have to watch their backs (Crowley has a reason to go into many of them quite frequently now, and without his celestial counterpart to keep him from goofing off too much). Hanna is a big fan of the classic "run down the aisles of a toy store and rapidly push every single button you find" method of spreading foment.
Since Hanna hasn't had an opportunity to see/experience most of the world, I imagine they spend a LOT of time popping through museums/zoos/aquariums/etc. Crowley pointing out things he caused, things an... old friend caused, things that actually happened way differently but got recorded wrong. Hanna dragging her dad around and both of them getting WAY too into reading the information plaques for all the animals. Then seeing which animals freak tf out if her dad flashes his eyes. (The giftshops get terrorized if there arent enough fungus-themed objects, although there is always miraculously at least one). They probably break into a lot/if not most of the exhibits after hours to take selfies for Crowley's rapidly growing photo album. Hanna sits at the shark touch tank and loudly proclaims how smooth they are. And since im a sucker for I-Want-To-Share-The-Stars Crowley, they probably pop over to an observatory or break into idk, where they keep the telescope on the Canary Islands or something. And he'll tell her what he remembers about the Creation and what it feels like to hold a new star in your hand. Hanna will curl up against Crowley's chest and get lost in his voice and the distant glitter of a world her dad designed. They probably also commit crimes. Not major crimes, mind you, although that's due more to Crowley's occasional sense of "as a parent i probably shouldn't let you" than any unwillingness on Hanna's part. But she'll definitely help him move signs or infiltrate office buildings and other assorted sabotages. She 100% gets her own little version of the Fuck Shit Up Jacket, and whether he likes it or not the Bentley has decided Hanna gets to pick the getaway music.
It doesn't really count as demonic but Crowley DOES keep a bag of spare change and googly eyes for Hanna to glue to things at will while they're out.
But tbh i imagine the most trouble she gets into is if she's left alone with Muriel. Evidently Hanna has her father's talent for tempting angels into misbehaving or at least into not noticing that they are, in fact, misbehaving in the human sense. Crowley usually feels almost bad for the baby angel but, needs must. and sometimes he needs a babysitter. The rule is SUPPOSED to be that if Hanna is with Muriel, they DO. NOT. LEAVE. the bookshop (they always leave the bookshop).
At one point she meets a boy named Kian at a pub called the New Inn. Crowley very desperately wants her to not want to spend time with Kian for reasons he refuses to explain 💕
At any rate if anyone ever wants to write or draw anything with Hanna they're more than welcome to and also I'll probably cry a lot so Cheers! Thank you for the ask (apologies for my signature long-winded answer)!

Saw this tag game on another post and thought I'd do it (idk if I've done it before, maybe something similar, but my answers will be different anyway)
1. Were you named after anyone?
Nope My chosen name (Allister) however, is from a youtuber who has a very cool name and I stole it (Alasdair Beckett-King, very funny videos and he has great hair too). I adapted it a bit so people in Spain would at least have an idea of how to pronounce it at first glance (hopefully) It has nothing to do with any Crowley (which I did not realize was a thing until recently), tho for a bit I named myself AJ like Good Omens Crowley, but I don't like how it sounds in Spanish...
2. When was the last time you cried?
Last month probably
3. Do you have kids?
No. And I don't want any. I don't dislike them, but it's not for me
4. What sports do you play/have you played?
Judo, karate and football (the indoors kind). All as a kid/teen. Now my brother and I walk every week day and go up and down stairs (when we remember...) One day I want to try to go to a gym to get some muscle, but not too much, just a bit of definition. Also, I'd enjoy doing rock climbing, but not competitive climbing or anything like that
5. Do you use sarcasm?
Sometimes
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Irl: the way they move their face and hands when they speak, which then I subconsciously use to recognize people, bc I'm a bit face blind Online: the way they choose to express themselves
7. What's your eye color?
Gray/light blue on the outside and artichoke green/lime on the inside
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
I like both, but I'd rather watch a happy ending. For scary things I prefer to watch Markiplier's scary games videos
9. Any talents?
I'm VERY good at jigsaw puzzles
10. Where were you born?
East of Spain, by some of the best Mediterranean coasts 😁. I enjoy it here, but one day I'd like to live in the UK, at least for a bit, I think I'd like it there
11. What are your hobbies?
Listening to music, singing, making art (crafting, building, drawing, painting, writing, ...), watching media (shows, panel shows, youtube, twitch), video games (rhythm/dancing, platformer, puzzle... Also minecraft, powerwash sim, potion craft...), going for walks, exercise, learning languages (especially English) If I had any good ones close, I'd go to theatres and museums too. And, if I had money, I'd travel. I'm also slowly learning about taking care of plants
12. Do you have any pets?
Not yet. I'd love to have dogs, cats, frogs, snakes... or anything really. I love animals. But I think cats and frogs would be the best fit for me, considering my personality and current lifestyle I've always wanted a dog, but I've only had a turtle and a hamster
13. How tall are you?
1.63m or 5’3”
14. Favorite subject in school?
Biology and technology
15. Dream job?
Anything that pays me enough to be independent and let me do all my hobbies Although, if I ever have the patience, base skill, and required mental fortitude, I'd go for general robotics and/or prop making (for film and/or theatre)
No pressure tags in no particular order (I tried to tag as many people as I could, but apparently there's a tag limit 😅):

Interview with Yoshihiro Takahashi (Anime magazine #133, 7 / 2023 )
Tumblr media
Translator note: This is fan translation from Finnish to English. Please understand there might be some mistakes as English is not my first language, thank you! Please enjoy ♥ --------------
The companion of righteous dog warriors Interview with Yoshihiro Takahashi
Attention! Contains spoilers from the Ginga series!
Originally published in 1983-1987, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin also known as Silver Fang hardly needs to be introduced because Silver Fang and other Ginga-series have won the hearts of Finnish audience since the 80s, their creator Yoshihiro Takahashi is one of the most loved mangaka in Finland. At the end of last summer, Finnish fans were delighted to hear that Takahashi would visit Helsinki from 15th to 18h of September.
Japanese Yokote Masuda Manga Museum, which organized the visit, held an exhibition that presented the mangaka's original drawings from the series at the Kamppi, Muji store. Located in the city of Yokote, Akita Prefecture, the museum keeps the world's largest collection of Takahashi's original works. The mangaka himself is also from Akita, more specifically from a small village in Higashinaruse. During the exhibition, Takahashi met his fans at the autograph session. There was also reason to celebrate as the mangaka turned 70 during the visit. Silver Fang manga also turns 40 this year.
On Thursday, before the big autograph signing, Anime magazine got a rare opportunity to talk with Takahashi about his life - and of course about dogs. Mangaka joyfully met the representatives of Anime together with the museum director Oishi Takashi and founder of Komachi Consulting, Minako Lakso. Sangatsu Manga's editorial manager Antti Valkama acted as an interpreter.
In his career, Takahashi has created manga series on various topics, but the success of Silver Fang made him a true "dog mangaka". As one of the inspirations of his youth Takahashi mentions Kyuuta Ishikawa (1940-2018), who created dog and wolf mangas in the 60s and 70s. - Although Ishikawa drew the dogs much more realistically than I did. My dogs are a lot more expressive and cartoonish. Later, Takahashi met Ishikawa's assistant, Seiichi Ikeuchi, by chance. The two became friends through a shared hobby of golf, and Ikeuchi also draws especially golf-focused sports manga. Takahashi laughs that like Ishikawa, Ikeuchi tried to make a dog manga back in the day, but didn't succeed as well as he did with the golf manga.
Dogs have played a major role in Takahashi's stories as well as in everyday life. Different breeds and their the personalities have become familiar to him. From his youth, he fondly remembered the family's Akita mix named Kuro. Kuro (translated as Black) was Takahashi's brother-like partner. Akitas are considered challenging and difficult to approach, because they don't express their emotions as clearly as most other breeds. But Takahashi didn't have trouble understanding Kuro. - Once, I think I was 5 years old, a traveling shoe salesman came to our home. When the salesman stood in the hall, Kuro and I watched what he was doing. When the shopkeeper jokingly decided to grab me, Kuro growled at the man. Otherwise it didn't react to anything, but the child had to be protected. Takahashi learned from Kuro that important things to you should be protected. This is transmitted clearly in his works. During Takahashi's adulthood, the family has included, among other things, a Labrador retriever and a wolf-dog hybrid (mentioned to also have german shepherd and husky in their heritage) imported from the United States. In Finland, a hybrid between a dog and a wolf can not have more than 12.5% wolf, but in Japan no dog breed or cross between dog and wolf is directly denied. Because Takahashi's hybrid arrived to Japan when it was two years old and well trained, there were no major difficulties in importation. They say the dog ran away sometimes, but in the end it always came back home.
When it comes to dogs in his works, Takahashi chooses a breed according to the personality of the character. In terms of stories, his favorite breed is the German Shepherd thanks to their sense of justice, but also their stubborn pride and edginess. Based on his long experience, writing male dogs is natural for him, but with productive female characters mangaka has difficulties. Besides Cross from Silver Fang and Lydia from Ginga Densetsu Weed (1999-2009, in Finland only known as Weed), female warriors are rare in the series. Timidly Takahashi says that he tries his best when it comes to female characters, although they are difficult to write. However, he is satisfied with Lydia thanks to character's multidimensionality.
In addition to challenging female characters, Takahashi has had to make difficult choices on character's fate. The death of the loved German Shepherd John was a difficult thing even for the mangaka. Readers especially give feedback when a character dies. Takahashi remembers an incident that happened when he visited Animecon in Kuopio in 2012. A fan who had just read about John's death in the Japanese manga came to the autograph session. According to Takahashi, the part in question was not yet published in Finland. John suffered a long and painful death in WEED. However, characteristically, John did not break mentally. Takahashi says the reader was angry that he killed John. - I then asked them if John's death wasn't just the right way for him. They then admitted that that was exactly how John would have wanted to die. Proud to the end. The violence of the Ginga series has attracted attention in Finland since Silver Fang arrived here in 1989 with four VHS parts. The publisher once tried to tone down Takahashi so that the series wouldn't become too much bloody. Takahashi suspects that the publishing house was probably afraid that they would get complaints of violence. Takahashi laughs that the story must have a good action. In the end, he heard no complaints from the publisher. - Readers perceive violence differently when it happens between animals than if the same would happen between people.
Regarding character deaths, Takahashi reveals that when he wrote Silver Fang, he wanted to kill all three of Kai brothers in one go. They were meant to die in the final battle between Ouu's dog army and the monster bear Akakabuto. But the publisher did not agree to this and in the end only the eldest brother Akatora experienced the bloody death. Despite the violence, Takahashi does not want his works to be, like many adult directed series, too attention catching, but there had to be some sort of moral limit. From this the works have been praised. Takahashi remembers meeting a Japanese older woman who had praised Silver Fang and stated that every student should read it.
Takahashi encapsulates the message of Ginga series to themes of justice and love. By love, he means more of companionship and caring. The themes of companionship and loyalty come up often In Takahashi's works. We asked if the history of Japan and bushidou perhaps inspired him. - In my hometown of Higashinaruse, there were stories about samurai and battles. I might have had them in the family, so I guess I have such ideas in the back of my mind. When thinking about the history of his home region, Takahashi remembers a memory from his childhood of the bear carcass he saw. In the countryside of Akita, it was common to display hunted bears for the whole village. One time the hunters had brought down a particularly large bear that was being kept displayed on the platform of a small truck. The sight of this huge beast remained permanently in the little boy's mind.
The nature of Japan's largest island, North Honshu, reminds Takahashi of Finnish nature. The mangaka thinks that the milieu that looks familiar and both cultural encounters with bears are part of the reason why the Ginga series have so many fans in Finland. Finnish readers' devotion to his works has made a great impression on Takahashi. The most ardent fans have even traveled Akita to see Takahashi's hometown. - I am taken and grateful that the Finnish readers have welcomed my manga so well. Thank you very much for your support.
Anime wishes 70-year-old Takahashi a long life and success. Mette Pesonen

Do you have any creative influences? I'm always so impressed by your work— your prose especially— and I need to know if there's any creators out there I need to file away in the creative influence database in my head so I can write like you
This question took all day of me searching and thinking because I can't really say I know who or what's influenced me right off the top of my head. With notable exceptions that bookend this post. Anyway, here you go!
@.teshamerkel 's PMD Seekers of Soul was my TPiaG before I found TPiaG. It helped me through a part of my life that, looking back, was a lot harder than I thought it was. While it didn't move me to the point of starting to make my own art again, I certainly did consider it. And I consider Seekers of Soul to be a must-read for any PMD fanfic enthusiasts.
Tui T. Southerland's Wings of Fire series is the first thing I can remember thinking of fanfiction for. I never did write any of it, mostly because I never felt motivated enough (and partially because it was was all just oc x canon). But even with my misgivings of the series and how bungled the overall theme of arc 2 was with how they defeated the big bad, book 6 is still one of my favorite books of all time.
All of @.saltnpepperbunny 's work is really good, and definitely had an influence!
PMD Victory Fire holds a very special place in my heart for being excellent story, incredible artwork (that I think was done in MS paint), and being one of the first pmd things I consumed besides the games. Even if its on indefinite hiatus, I still consider it to be a must-read for even people outside of the PMD sphere. I would go into more detail, but I don't want to spoil anything!
I also consider Cucumber Quest to be a must-read. I dont have much to say besides that it's genuinely amazing and that you should read it the first chance you get.
Obligatory Avatar The Last Airbender mention. It's shocking to me how the worst that show got was just a mediocre episode in the first season. (The great divide) I genuinely think the entire series should be put in museums or something because it is an enormous accomplishment in the field of storytelling in general.
Scoob And Shag goes from a silly, foul-mouthed joke comic, to... not a joke comic. I would love to gush about it, but I fear that doing so would spoil it. Check it out. Even if its just for the (frankly absurd) glow up in the artistic style and quality. I normally advise going into things as blind as possible, but I would recommend checking the TV tropes page to know what kinda stuff you're in for once you reach around episode 20~30 and then seeing if it's something you would be interested in. It's very good, but definitely not for everyone.
... I thiiiiink that's it for people and content I can point to and know that they've influenced me off the top of my head. (Aside from one massive exception at the end of this post) The rest of this is just kinda a list of content and creators I really enjoy and highly recommend checking out at some point. Even If I can't really tell just how much of an effect it's had on me.
First, videogames!
Despite how much of my time I spend playing videogames, the only few I can point to are:
Celeste
Undertale
Undertale Yellow
Deltarune
Stardew Valley
and Hades. (I recommend Hades the most)
Despite how much I love the series, I haven't actually played any PMD games. (At least, in any official sense.) I am working towards getting them though!
Next, Youtubers:
• Atastic's animations are fantastic! I don't have much to say beyond that they are really good and fun.
• Bumbles McFumbles is a rare example of a person who is equally entertaining while talking about something he likes, as he is while talking about something he doesn't like. He's got an excellent sense of comedic flow and timing. He's part of the reason why my humor is the way it is.
• Doodley is an animator that makes videos on animation principles and is also just generally entertaining while also educational.
• Eltorro64rus makes all of his absurdist, extremely smooth animations in Gmod. Which is endlessly impressive if you know that Gmod is a game first, and an animation software like, 6th. The humor is very much an acquired taste though.
• FutureCanoe has such a funny, dry sense of comedy that it almost makes you forget that he's a cooking youtuber who somehow makes all of his food look like it was poisoned before, during and after cooking.
• GildedGuy is such a cool animator that he got his stickman OC in fortnite! And all his animations are gorgeous masterpieces, that too.
• Krugston is an animator that is constantly experimenting with his style. He went from a generic storytime animator to, in my opinion, one of the most unique and creative animators on the platform.
• Neytirix is an animated youtuber, but describing her videos really difficult because of just how unique they are. My best shot at it would probably be: "horror storytime animator and artist, with overarching plot between videos"
• Overly Sarcastic Productions has an entire, multi-hour long playlist of videos on different tropes. And within those is writing advice. While there are a couple of things that I remember disagreeing with, (even though I can't remember specifically what. probably just opinions on certain shows' quality) The general advise they give can be a big help. (They also do history lessons, and while I don't care for those as much, there is definitely appeal behind them)
• MajorLink doesn't have a large amount of videos, but he does have a fan animated series of The Legend Of Zelda. One with a total runtime reaching just over two hours at this point, with more on the way!
• ScottTheWoz is up there with Jerma as one of the most experimental, consistently funny, and creative e-celebs on their respective platforms. One of the few YouTubers that you would have to watch his videos in chronological order to understand all of the jokes. But even lacking context behind all of the injokes and references is fine because he writes jokes with the knowledge that someone might be watching it for the first time. 'Great Gaming Mysteries', followed by 'The Trial' would be my favorite youtube video of all time if they weren't separate.
• Wendigoon's videos are equal parts entertaining, and disturbing. They also are consistently over the 1 hour mark, so they also make for pretty good background noise material if you want to hear a guy talk for hours.
• Yahya Danboos has several videos showcasing his process of making an ambitious 3d hack-n-slash as a solo dev. It's pretty informative on the process of making a 3d game.
Next is TV shows!
This one is even shorter than videogames since the amount of time I spend searching for shows to watch, and watching youtube videos on said shows, outweighs the amount of time I spend actually watching the shows.
But I can fully recomend these shows though!
Centaurworld
Amphibia
Gravity Falls
Adventure Time
The Owl House
Next up, Webcomics!
All of the following are in no specific order. If I don't say anything, it's not because it's worse, but because saying "it's really dang good and you should check it out" for every entry can get exhausting.
All of these can be found on ComicFury.
PMD: Taken Place
Pokémon Abridgestery Dungeon
PMD: Milos From Home
PMD: On Borrowed Time
PMD: Terminus
PMD: Another Perspective
PMD: The Human Connection
PMD: Rangers Of Sky
PMD: The Rouge Team
Autumn In Sinnoh
Jet's Black Nuzlocke
Last Light
Soul Food
Endurance: In Our Blood
Laika's Comet
The-Heart-Of-A-Monster
Vagabond Sonic
All of the following I found on Webtoons, some I know arent on just webtoons, but I do know that they're all on there.
Lil' Char and Gang
Suitor Armor
Vampire Husband
City Of Blank
The Greatest Estate Developer (genuinely the funniest webtoon ive ever read)
The Last Dimension
Hand Jumper
Spontaneous World Shifting (my favorite out of all of these in the webtoons section)
Magic School Girl: Spare No Villains
Loving Reaper (my beloved)
TRIPTRACK
Spellward Bound
Marionetta
Zodiac Parade
Of Swamp and Sea
Jupiter Men

And now for the grand finale! The person who's my greatest creative influence:
It's @sincerely-sofie
You asked me for my biggest creative influences, but it seems to me, from what I think is implied in that ask you sent, didn't realize that I wouldn't even be here if it weren't for you. I doubt I ever would have gotten started even writing things if it weren't for the things that you make and your constant, uplifting encouragement.
While all of these other things I've outlined in this post did have an impact, and those ones at the start had more of an impact as i might not have thought of before, they all are barely quantifiable compared to just how much of an impact your own stuff has had on my creative expression. It's your stuff that got me to begin creatively expressing after all!
You say you like my Prose, but I actually think that it sounds closest to yours than anyone elses, if we assume that my own personality isnt a factor.
It's genuinely impossible to thank you enough for how much of a positive impact you've had on me.
:)

How do you get your art/character interactions to be so expressive and organic? I've loved your art and ocs for years and keep coming back once in a while to skim through your Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls art to get inspired, so I wondered if you did specific art studies to get to where your art is right now?
Thank you for the compliment! I've got three answers (or exercises) for you and you can take them as you like 'em underneath the cut.
They are in order from Most Annoying to Most Pleasing.
The Noble Still Life
My parents threw me into art classes at around 6 years old. I don't mean to imply that that somehow makes me a better artist out of the gate--it truly doesn't--but it does mean that I've been doing still life studies for a sad but significant portion of my life. And as much as I hate drawing stupid fruit arranged with other stupid shit on stupid pieces of fabric, still life studies were really helpful across the board and especially with developing a sense of how shit works. ... Even if I go on to blissfully ignore what I've learned and draw fabric folds however the hell I want and put shadows wherever I damn well please.
The Ye Olde Master Study
As part of secondary school, we were also trotted out to local museums and parks and whatnot and told to just... have at it. So a lot of my sketchbooks from that time are filled with studies of library-lion-this and portrait-of-supposedly-important-man-that. Then, back in class, we were asked to imitate the old masters. Old Masters studies are really fucking fun and some of my favourite commissions have started out with phrases like "Can you recreate this Benjamin Constant painting but with my character as Empress Theodora?" or "How about a different Constant painting of Theodora?" I also do master-ish studies with my own digital paintings, like this one of Samson and this one of Bree. I think it's a fun exercise because it pushes me out of my comfort zone even if the end result doesn't look all that sophisticated or much like the original.
The Desperate Scribbles of the Human Form~
I should put gesture drawings and anatomy studies before master studies because in theory you need to know how to draw bodies before you start trying to paint in imitation of Caravaggio. (Now that I think about it, a deep knowledge of fruit is also essential to Caravaggio... but I digress.) In my art class, gesture drawings were more about flow and movement than it was about your unnerving ability to draw an elbow. Our teachers broke us using the Boiling Frog Technique, which was to say that they lulled us into a false sense of security by allowing us to sketch the person modelling for 10 minutes. Then 5 minutes. Then 3 minutes. Then 2 minutes. Then 1 minute. Then 30 seconds because they were sadists. It is unfortunately an effective way of teaching 1) how bodies move and 2) how to capture the essence of a pose rather than the strict reality of it.
But I really like anatomy studies and I really, really like drawing hands. And more hands. And even more hands. And then some more hands just in case. And then, just to shock and surprise everyone, a torso. A good chunk of my sketchbook is just me drawing faces and hands and eyeballs and hands and faces and sometimes feet when I can't remember how ankles work.
Other Weird Tips That Don't Quite Count As Studies:
If you don't wanna sketch in a museum or go to a park or stare at a stranger's ankles to figure out how ankles work, then go pull up fantasy stock photos on DeviantArt or take a photo of yourself and then get to sketching. That's what I do!
Watch a shitton of animated films. There's a fluidity & theatricality to how characters move in animated films that I love. Sometimes it seems like every inch of the character is expressing the emotion they're feeling. I find it personally inspirational even if I feel like gnawing off my own hand every time I attempt to draw my own frame-by-frame animation.
Study film. I studied film very, very briefly and a wee snippet of that was studying storyboards (as in: in library, with book) and doing some storyboard art projects (as in: at desk, with sketchbook). I treat every comic I do as if I was storyboarding the animated scene from the disjointed animated film in my brain and then polish it up to make it more readable/enjoyable.
Hope that helps!

*SLAMS MY HANDS ONTO THE TABLE* hoo boy I have way too many hcs about mer language So disclaimer first, none of this has any basis in canon, it's just what I like to think about mer physiology. Moving on from that, I hc the mer language to not require breath, so their vocal cords are shaped rather differently from humans. Since mer have some sort of gills, based on the tweels and Azul's design (and if they don't and I'm remembering wrong that's honestly kinda stupid), they don't need air to breath. If they don't need air to breath, then how do they talk? My hc is that mer vocal cords are activated some other way (anatomy isn't my strong suit so I haven't decided the exact way). So mer do have their own language, but it's hella difficult for landdwellers to learn - so it's usually not taught on land. As for mer learning common language, that would be for emergencies - not many mer who aren't in service ventures or go to learn on land learn it well, but it's kinda like how Spanish is learned in the US - not learned well, but can be kinda understood. Anyways I have too many thoughts on mer biology and such, but ty for reading

ADDENDUM: Real life octopuses and moray eels don’t have gills in the shape or form we traditionally think of them on like… fish. I took a recent look at the Magical Archives and it seems that Jade and Azul’s pages talk about the markings on their sides (and some on their backs not seen in the usual frontal view) are fish-like gills. Weirdly enough, gills of this nature aren’t seen at all on more “human” merpeople. I talk a little more about that and the differences between them and the more human-like mermen guards stationed at the Atlantica museum here.
*puts on life science nerd glasses* 🤓 I’ve actually formally studied speech formation and A&P, so I can talk a bit about how normal (aka irl human) compares to some of the headcanons you shared! Of course, we don’t 100% know how merpeople anatomy and physiology is different and similar to humans (or how much fantasy races really borrow from real life), but I thought it would just be interesting to share the knowledge!
Firstly, breath is a requirement for speech because it is the movement of air across the vocal cords that results in the vibrations which become speech. Now, it’s not clear how or why merpeople are able to breathe underwater or why they don’t necessarily need to breathe air to survive; the respiratory system that typically brings air into the body must not be the same as a human’s, as that would likely result in water getting into the lungs and drowning them or crushing them from pressure. It’s entirely possible that merpeople have a hybrid respiratory system between that of a human and marine animals, so merfolk could have adapted such that the movement of water across their vocal cords produces a similar result as air does for humans. This, in addition to potentially having different shaped vocal cords, could mean a potential merlanguage has sounds that are very difficult or even impossible for non-merpeople to replicate.
Of course, that also begs the question 💦 would merpeople be able to even properly speak in their language if they were on land??? Because they wouldn’t be in the same kind of environment (and thus don’t have the same conditions as they do when they usually speak the language); this would impact how certain sounds are produced by the speech systems and then perceived by the ear.
I think merlanguage vs human languages isn’t exactly the same as Spanish vs English?? 🤔 Yes, some students may be in circumstances where their schools require them to learn a language other than the native tongue as part of their curriculum, but that’s because it can have practical applications even if they don’t become totally fluent or pursue higher level language difficulties. For example, especially in America, Spanish-speaking communities are a considerable part of the population and continues to grow, so Spanish is a popular second language. Mandarin Chinese is also on the rise globally, as China is becoming a powerhouse (so knowing how to communicate in Mandarin is smart for global enterprises). Many schools internationally also teach English as a universal second language because English is so prominently used.
In comparison, merpeople are so far geographically removed from humans and are given lore which states the majority of merpeople don’t really go to the surface world. It makes me wonder what the benefit of teaching human languages would be?? It’s not the same situation as the real world because it’s not a system where speakers of different languages would interact with each other super frequently (due to the split between land and sea). I understand maybe learning a second language for emergencies if there’s a good chance you’ll engage with populations speaking that language (like Spanish in the Americas), but it isn’t the case for merpeople because the chances of them interacting with a human doesn’t seem to be very high in places like the Coral Sea. It makes more sense to me that (if there is a native merlanguage or dialects) maybe merpeople would pick up some basic phrases of human languages (like “hello”, “thank you”, etc.) in their free time/by chance. There is no incentive to try learning another language even at a basic or conversational level unless maybe this was a path a merperson planned on pursuing further or professionally.
Again, can’t believe rubbing my two brain cells together to talk about how the fuck anime fish boys breathe and talk and are even theoretically possible—

So I randomly felt like quickly sharing my thoughts on all three Cars movies and both Planes movies. Quick disclaimer, no matter how I feel about certain things it's totally cool if you feel different and I respect that.
Cars:
I love Cars. This was my childhood movie that I watched over and over and over again since I was a young child. I love the characters, the plot, and I think the animation holds up really well. I also am glad to see it with adult eyes cause there's a lot of nuance and stuff that I of course didn't get as a child. Recently on a whim I needed to unwind from stress and I put on Cars (just like my parents used to do for me as a kid, lol), and it genuinely did make me feel better and woke up a part of me that had laid dormant for years. Cars is a film that almost makes me wanna take a long drive on Route 66...until I remember I'm not any good at road tripping, lol.
Cars 2:
I have a distinct memory in my mind of being a child in the theater watching Cars 2, turning to my dad and saying 'can we go now?'. I didn't watch it all the way through until recently and I can thoroughly say that I don't despise it, but I'm also not its biggest fan. It's actually something of a guilty pleasure for me now. Sometimes I'll just put it on in the background while I do things. It also makes me contemplate the inner workings of this world more than the writers themselves probably thought about, like how the heck do different makes and models come about, what is the impact of climate change on a world of vehicles, but that's probably its own post. But yeah, I accept it for what it is and even enjoy some parts of it.
Cars 3:
So confession, it took me over 6 years to work up the courage to watch this one. I don't know why I was so worried, but I finally did it. And I loved it. I really think they ended on a good note. I'll admit the first part was probably the weakest in my eyes, but I really enjoyed the tribute to Doc Hudson and I actually teared up and I was happy to learn more about his past. I liked the torch passing narrative as well. I think my biggest complaint is that I wish we could've seen more of Lightning and his friends. (I may be biased because somehow Cal Weathers worked his way into my heart).
Planes:
Planes took longer to stick in my brain than Cars did. I remember going to see it actually, the local air and space museum did a showing of it and I went to watch it with my family. My parents didn't like it much but I remember being happy with it. Upon rewatching, there's things I like, but there's a part of me wishing it was something more. I can't fully explain it. Also I find Dusty's attitude off-putting to me personally (particularly his feeling of being entitled to being trained by Skipper and essentially demanding that Skipper tell him about his clearly traumatic past strikes me as kinda callous). But I still enjoy putting it on in the background and enjoy thinking about the world itself, much like Cars 2. Also fun fact, Skipper is one of my favorite kinds of planes.
Planes Fire & Rescue:
I'm sorry but I have much less patience for this film, but like I said above, I respect those who do. I will say, I appreciate them highlighting some of the realities of firefighting (like how the general public doesn't hear about a lot of fires that are dealt with). But other than that, I don't have much positive to say about it. The characters for the most part feel underdeveloped and I can't say I'm particularly endeared to a majority of them (Blade is the exception for me, tbh). And Dipper in particular needs to chill the hell out, her behavior is pretty inappropriate and creepy while being played off as jokes. Beyond that, my aforementioned issues with Dusty remain in this movie. Honestly, he doesn't strike me as capable of doing this job and he actively creates a situation that nearly gets Blade killed. I could spend awhile talking about it, but I'd honestly rather not. To end on a positive note, I think the married RV couple are adorable and I like them.
So that's all my thoughts. I enjoy both franchises and tend to overthink the hell out of them (if I overthink something it's usually cause I enjoy it). Hopefully I didn't piss too many people in the fandom off, lol.

My TS4 packs wishlist for 2024
(in no particular order)
Supermarket Stuff Pack, with an active career as a cashier and compatibility with Get to Work
Get to School Game Pack, with finally an education system for kids, a daycare career like in TS3, and more different activities for kids.
Dating Game Pack, something with a more in-depth relationship system/attraction.
Dine Out Refresh, long overdue but a patch to fix it for good and adding all the new reciepes/drinks to the menu, and some up-to-date items.
French Destination Game Pack, I would love something inspired by France. Not because it's my country, but also because its so versatile here and there's so much to explore.
Nigerian/Ivory Coast or Kenyan Destination Game Pack. I think Africa deserves to be represented in the game also. Please, do it, and do it well!
Retirement Home Stuff Pack, please, more things for elders!
New Life Stage : Tweens. Teens look so much like adults that its annoying.. Or, at least, do a patch to make them smaller by default. There's mods for it and they work fine so, I don't see the reason why Teens look like Adults. Back in 2024, they were so much alike that it was so weird and it led to unethical situations... Anyway.
Painting Room Kits/Museum Refresh. I love painting and drawing so please, more items around this hobby would be so good. Drawing on tables for Kids... without mod!
Hoobies Game Pack. I loved this pack in TS2, it was so entertaining that its a big miss we do not have something similar after 10 years with TS4. More instruments, new dancing style...
More animals and refreshing the Veterinarian career to include horses! It was a big miss during the launch of Horse Ranch that we didn't have the possibility to expand our Vet Clinic to horses for those who own Cats & Dogs. Also, I would love to have monkeys and parrots. For those who used to have pets in TS2, do you remember having pets making a career? I used to have like a lot of pets and never worked because they bring all the cash, lmao.
New activities for infants/Patch for Infants. (I do not need to add details as everyone has the same opinion).
Pool Stuff Pack, with slides and more activities.
Park Kit. Well... We need more things to make parks realistic without the help of modders. Please, release something to add more to this lot venue.
So, what do you think of my wishlist? I cant wait to hear from you!
