Outcasts (One Survivor pt. 1)
Pairing: Din Djarin x Cobb Vanth
Setting: Survivor AU / Modern AU
Summary: Grogu begged his father to spend 39 days stranded on an island with 15 strangers, and who was Din to deny his son such a simple request? What he didn’t anticipate was meeting Cobb Vanth while on the island and developing the largest crush he had ever had on a person. But in the game of Survivor, you can anticipate nothing.
Disclaimer!!! : While you don’t need to have seen Survivor in order to understand this fic, it is based off of 07x07-08 of Survivor. (Also a bit from an episode from Season 6, though I cannot recall the episode.) So if you have not seen those seasons, read at your own risk.
--------------------------------------------------
When Din had signed up for 39 days stranded on an island with 15 complete strangers, he was mostly doing it as a joke. His son was fascinated by the show, insisted that they watch it every week. Din thought he just liked the drama of it. It was Peli who brought up one day that Din should go on it.
“Papa, pleeeeease,” Grogu had begged. And Din would do anything to please his son. So, he agreed to give it a shot.
It was honestly fun, he had to admit. Seeing Jeff Probst in person was honestly one of the coolest moments of his life. And then he saw him.
Silver hair, just a little bit taller than him, gorgeous eyes. But the thing that caught Din’s attention most was his red scarf. Never mind that it was 110* on the island, but man could this guy pull off that scarf.
Din felt it was destiny when he watched the man slide a red buff around his wrist, matching his scarf almost perfectly. However, his heart broke as he pulled a blue one over his head and settled it around his neck.
It slowly started to become an issue. Din would slack in challenges because the guy, Cobb he had learned after a day or two - though most of his tribe called him Cowboy, would show up shirtless. It was distracting to say the least. All of his tribemates were getting increasingly frustrated with him but Din couldn’t care less. His tribe was winning most of the challenges, so what was the big deal if he was like a deer caught in the headlights every time he had to go up against Cobb?
Sometimes Jeff would even call them out. During one challenge where they had to play a matching game, Din kept going to Cobb to ask him for items and Cobb kept going to Din.
“Din,” Cobb called with a smirk and he chuckled as his tribe groaned for the fourth time at him. When he got a hum in response, his smirk turned into a charming smile. “Do you maybe - possibly - have a seashell?”
Jeff laughed and shifted, crossing his arms. “Cobb, why don’t you just ask him what you really want to ask him?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Jeff,” Cobb tried hard not to laugh, “Din?”
“Can you see into my box, Cowboy? How do you keep doing this?” Din laughed and walked the shell over to Cobb. He tried not to notice how Cobb’s calloused hand lingered on Din’s for a second longer than necessary - the way their hands had been lingering on each other’s the entire challenge.
------------------------------------------
After what felt like far too short a time, Din’s heart shattered.
“Noyapara, getting a look at the new Marseydotes tribe,” Jeff said as the other tribe came onto the beach.
“Oh my god,” Fennec sighed and Din whipped around, his eyes wide.
“Cobb voted off at the last tribal council,” Jeff finished as Din tried not to show too much emotion for a guy he hardly really knew.
Fennec, the only member of Din’s tribe he had told about his little crush - really, she confronted him and he had no choice - took a step closer to him as Jeff continued speaking. “So close to the merge too,” she mumbled.
That’s what Fennec kept telling him. “Just wait until the merge and you’ll be able to get to know him!” and “There’s no way they won’t keep him until the merge at least!” Din sighed sadly. The merge was any day now. They were so close and his tribe just had to vote him off.
“Alright,” Jeff spoke clearly, bringing Din out of his thoughts. “By now, you have collectively voted off six members from this game. And now, that’s gonna come back to haunt you.” The final ten players turned around and looked at each other. “Come on in, guys!”
The six players who had been previously voted off came out on to the beach and Din and Fennec shared a bright smile as Cobb jogged out as the last person. It was impossible not to catch the wink Cobb gave him as he made his way past Din.
“Here’s how it’s gonna work,” Jeff started as Cobb took his spot on the third mat. “There are now three tribes - Marseydotes, Noyapara, and the Outcasts - the six people you have voted out over the last couple of weeks now have a chance to rejoin the game. Today’s challenge is for immunity. Whichever team loses to the Outcast tribe has to go to tribal council. That means, if both tribes lose, two tribal councils. Then, the Outcasts will have their own tribal council to vote in members to fill the slot of the people you just voted off.”
Din looked over to see Cobb and some of the other Outcasts smiling at each other proudly and Din couldn’t help the smile of his own. At this point, he was hardly listening to Jeff.
“Additionally, anybody voted back in from the Outcast tribe will be immune for the first tribal council following their return to provide them time to reintegrate back into the game.”
After explaining what they had to do for the challenge, all the Survivors took their places. Din watched, tied to the wooden gate, as one member from each tribe rushed to begin untying their teammates. Of course, Cobb was one of them. Fennec was flying through the knots for her and Din’s tribe but Din could see that Cobb was far ahead. He wasn’t surprised at all.
Once he was untied, Fennec yelled at him to start helping with finding the key but he hardly heard her. “Djarin!” she scolded harshly, forcing Din’s attention to her. “Stop staring and help us!”
It wasn’t much use at that point. Cobb’s team had already gotten the key and was unlocking the gate. “Outcasts win immunity!” Jeff yelled and there was cheering from the tribe. He opened the other tribes’ gates and addressed them, “Two tribal councils. Two people will be voted out tonight, and two members will rejoin your tribes. You have the rest of the day to decide who’s going home. Head back to camp.”
----------------------------------------------
Din breathed a sigh of relief as Jeff read the final vote and it was neither him nor Fennec. Both knew that pairs can go far in this game if they play their cards right and Din and Fennec were determined to add their names to the list of pairs that prove that statement. Fennec bumped his shoulder as they carried their torches back to camp.
“Hey,” she whispered, “maybe Cobb will get voted back in and end up on our tribe.”
Din chuckled and shook his head, shifting to rest his torch against his shoulder as he walked. “Don’t you dare get my hopes up.”
-------------------------------------------
Cobb took his seat next to the other Outcasts. At first, he couldn’t believe he had been voted off and he was furious. He was easily one of the strongest guys out there, definitely the strongest in his tribe. But he knew his tribe was preparing for the merge. Boba had teased him endlessly at camp about his crush on the other tribe. Cobb and Din had hardly spoken, just quick comments to each other during challenges, but he knew there was a connection there- physical if nothing else. It was understandable that his tribe assumed in the case of a merge, he might flip his alliance to be with Din. Cobb knew that wasn’t the case, but his tribe didn’t. And now, after almost his whole tribe voted him off, that was definitely going to happen if he had the chance. Sweet revenge.
“Here’s how this is going to work,” Jeff started once everyone was settled. “You’ll all have the chance to plead your case as to why you should be voted back into the game. Then you’ll vote. Two names, on two different parchments. Two people with the highest number of votes get put back into the game.” Once everyone nodded their understanding Jeff smiled and gave his own nod. “Cobb, let’s start with you.”
Cobb sighed happily and turned to address his tribe of fellow outcasts. “All I can really say is that I know I kick their asses. If you want an Outcast to win the game, I think I’m your best shot. Once the merge hits, I know exactly who I’m going to align with. I beat any of them at any physical challenge and I’m quicker in puzzles than half of them. I think I have one of the best chances out of us to make it to the end of this game if I get back in.”
Everyone nodded and Cobb’s head began to spin. All he could think was, “did they all just agree with me?”
He listened to the other Outcasts plead their cases and then it was time to vote. Cobb casted his votes and dropped them in the urn. His heart was beating impossibly fast as Jeff said the words that are typically so dreaded and now held so much hope, “I’ll go tally the votes.”
Cobb shared a look of hopeful anxiety with his fellow Outcasts as Jeff came back with the urn tucked under his arm. Jeff cleared his throat and smiled and all the Outcasts couldn’t help but chuckle nervously. “Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The two people with the highest number of votes will return to the game.” Cobb attempted not to cringe at the change from the usual dialogue. “I’ll read the votes.”
Cobb held his breath as he name came up first. Then again. The somebody else’s. Then his again. Then again. “Sixth vote- Cobb. That’s five, our first Outcast revived in the game.” Cobb felt someone pat his shoulder and another tell him congratulations but he could hardly process it. *He was back in the game!*
“Alright,” Jeff continued once the second person, Bo Katan, was chosen and everyone had congratulated her as well. “Bo Katan, Cobb, the tribe has spoken. Come on up here, and relight your torches.”
Bo Katan and Cobb shared an eager smile as they steadily dipped their torches into the fire at the center of the counsel area. Cobb felt a wave of pride as he looked back at the other Outcasts, seeing their excited faces. They had all agreed in their time together that whoever was going back into the game, everyone was going to be proud of them. Sure, everyone wished it was them going in, but the fact that any of them had the chance was more than enough for them all.
“Now time to choose what tribe you’ll be going to.” Jeff held out a bag to the two of them. “Who’s going first?” Cobb nodded at Bo Katan with a smile and she nodded back before turning back to Jeff with a smile, stating she would. “Alright. Since you were from opposite tribes to begin with, if Bo Katan pulls a red buff, you’ll be returning to the opposite tribes. If she pulls a blue one, you’ll be returning to the tribes that voted you out.”
He held the bag out to Bo Katan and Cobb held his breath, attempting to will the universe to have her pull a red buff.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Din and Fennec had stayed up to wait and see who would come to their island. It was getting later and later and eventually, Fennec laid her head on his shoulder.
“When Cobb shows up, don’t throw me off too quickly rushing to him,” she mumbled.
“Why do you keep saying ‘when?’” He questioned back, still fully awake. “What makes you so sure he got voted back in?”
Fennec hummed and smiled. “Because, you two are destined.”
Din rolled his eyes. “You’re ridiculous.” He squinted his eyes a little to see out towards the ocean. He could just barely make out the outline of a boat. “Fennec,” he shifted his shoulder so she’d sit up, “they’re here.”
------------------------------------------------------------
Cobb leaned against a pole on the boat, taking in the feeling of the ocean mist on his face. He ran a hand through his hair before dropping it back into his lap. He let out a small chuckle as he rubbed the fabric of the buff on his wrist between his fingers. It had been such a long and taxing day. He could only hope that he would be able to get some rest once he made it back to camp.
He thanked the man driving the small boat as he hopped over the edge. He sighed as he took in the island before him, slowly making his way through the water towards the beach. He saw a familiar figure walking down the beach to meet him and he smiled brightly and honestly.
“I knew you’d get back in, Cowboy!” he heard them call to him with a laugh.
He walked a little quicker to get up the beach before pulling the other man into a tight hug before pulling back and getting a good look at the other man. “Hey, Boba,” he sighed.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Din’s tribe walked out onto the beach first. Din’s heart raced as he willed himself to turn around to see the other tribe come in.
“Marseydotes and Noyapara, getting a look at each other’s new tribes,” Jeff said as the other tribe entered. “Bo Katan voted into Noyapara and Cobb voted into Marseydotes at the last tribal council.”
Din could hardly contain his smile. Now if both of them could just stick around until the merge.
There was mumbling among the tribes, each talking about who was voted back in for the other tribe. Jeff cleared his throat, drawing the attention back to himself.
“As you have all figured out by now, this game is always changing.” Everyone chuckled and nodded. “It’s about to change again. Everyone drop your buffs,” he tossed a bag to Din who caught it easily, “and put on your new ones- you are merged.”
Some members cheered, some gasped, but everyone had the largest smiles on their faces. Din reached into the bag and began pulling out the fresh purple buffs and handed them to the members of the new tribe. He tried not to care when Cobb took the buff from him the same way he had taken the sea shell just days prior. He also tried not to care that his face was burning, though he attempted to convince himself it was the heat of the sun. His heart jumped as Cobb started to say something but their attention was quickly drawn away from each other and back to Jeff.
Once the matter of which camp was better was sorted, the now merged tribe was sent off for a merge feast and getting to know one another.
---------------------------------------------
When the food was done and everyone was broken off into small groups, Din excused himself from Bo Katan and Fennec to search for firewood. He wasn’t far into the jungle when he heard someone clear their throat behind him. With a jump he turned quickly to see Cobb just a few feet behind him.
“Sorry,” he laughed holding up his hands, “I didn’t want to startle you.”
Din sighed with a smile. “Good to see you back in the game.” He turned his back to Cobb as he picked up a dry branch.
“Yeah, you’re telling me,” Cobb spoke softly, taking a few steps closer to Din. “I had been hoping the whole game to make it to the merge.”
“I think that’s everyone’s goal at the least,” Din tried desperately to sound casual, despite that he could feel Cobb’s eyes on him as he moved to pick up another branch.
Cobb chuckled and finally took the final steps up to Din to pick up a branch of his own, causing them to stand up straight at the same time, their faces just inches apart as they looked at each other. Cobb couldn’t help his smile as he watched Din’s eyes flicker down to his lips before coming back up to meet his gaze.
“I don’t think everyone had the same reasons for wanting to merge as I did,” Cobb whispered, attempting to keep the atmosphere they had created.
Din stuttered for a moment, shifting the branches in his arms nervously. “And- uhm-” he cleared his throat, “what reason would that be?”
“You.”
There was a beat of silence as they stood inches apart. Din’s eyes continued to flicker up and down and Cobb would be lying if he said his weren’t as well. Din’s heart was beating impossibly loud, he was surprised he could hear anything over it, let alone hear Cobb’s breathing. Din took half a step closer and Cobb followed suit. They were impossibly close, both smiling brightly, having waited for this moment since the beginning of the game when-
“Hey, lover-boys! Hurry up with the wood, we need to boil water!” Boba called from around the bend of the path. Before shaking his head and walking away again.
Din and Cobb didn’t pull apart, just started laughing. They could feel each other’s breath and they took a moment to calm down.
“I suppose we should go back,” Din whispered.
“Yes, I suppose we should,” Cobb mumbled back, still allowing his eyes to flicker down and back up.
But neither moved.
Before either of them knew it, Din quickly leaned in and placed a small kiss on Cobb’s lips. It was soft and sweet and Cobb thought he was in Heaven, he almost dropped the branches in his arms. It was over before it really began and Din was walking away with a smile. Cobb held back a frustrated groan because he didn’t get the chance to really kiss back. “Come on, Cowboy. They need to boil water,” Din called over his shoulder.
Cobb stood awestruck for a moment, watching Din walk away. He could still feel Din’s presence on his lips and all he could do was stare and smile.
“You coming?” Din called from up the path with a laugh.
Cobb shook his head clear and grabbed another branch to add to his pile. He cleared his throat as he stood straight again and jogged to catch up to Din.
They were only a couple of steps down the path when Din bumped Cobb’s shoulder with his own. “We should get fire wood together more often,” he spoke with a chuckle which soon turned into a laugh as he saw a light dusting of red spread across Cobb’s cheeks.
Cobb gave his own small laugh. “Maybe next time Boba won’t interrupt us so soon.”
“Let’s hope not,” Din replied as they entered camp and the conversation was quickly dropped.
The next time Fennec made a passing comment about needing more wood, Din tried not to laugh at how quickly Cobb volunteered. Meanwhile, Cobb tried to ignore Boba’s laugh at how quickly Din offered to join him. Both sent Boba a glare that screamed ‘don’t bother us this time,’ and thankfully he got the message.

Day Six: Ocean
Fandom: The Librarians
Pairing: Platonic Eve Baird and Ezekiel Jones
Part One of Five Times Eve Baird Said Jump
Read on Ao3
Read on Fanfiction
JONES
Ezekiel thought Jenkins was just joking – if Eve Baird jumps off a cliff, by all means, jump off a cliff – but it turns out he wasn’t. He really wasn’t. Writer’s Month 2020 Day 6: Ocean. Inspired by a tumblr post I cannot find again.
“It’s just not fair Jenkins!”
Ezekiel paced around the Annex, fingers flying over his phone. He was double checking and updating the firewalls on his personal systems – a trick he’d taken up years ago to help him calm down when frustrated. “I’m not a child, she can’t ground me!”
Jenkins hummed from his desk, using a pair of tweezers to turn the pages of some old manuscript. “The way you are acting suggests otherwise.”
“It’s not like anyone got hurt,” Ezekiel continued, ignoring Jenkin’s completely incorrect statement. “Yeah, okay, we may have given Cass a heart attack, and knocked over a couple of the Greek artefacts – but it’s not like the Roman ones are in there anymore, so nothing was going to blow up – and, okay, I accidently flooded the hallway of doors, but how was I to know that the blue door led to the Endangered Undersea Creatures Room? I thought that it meant, you know, stuffed models or something, not an entire freaking ocean – but that was partly the Library’s fault too, they should have better signs – and I closed the door! Almost made me lose to Stone too!”
“I believe Colonel Baird’s annoyance stems from the fact that you were using temperamental flying carpets to race around the Library,” The caretaker said dryly, “And that, at the end of your race, you were flung over the banister and into the card catalogue.”
Ezekiel waved a hand. “I was fine. Baird worries too much! No one even got hurt!”
Raising a judgemental eyebrow, Jenkins said, “I believe the card catalogue would disagree with you. Aren’t you meant to be cleaning that up?”
“C’mon Jenkins. It’s not like it was all my fault! Stone was flying around too – why isn’t he helping clean up?”
Jenkins pierced him with a stern look. “Mr Stone did not damage the Library. And I do believe the words ‘he dared me’ passed your lips earlier.”
With a groan, Ezekiel plopped to the ground beside the pile of cards. The Library had magically fixed the cabinets, but for some reason the card catalogue had to be resorted and replaced by hand (he was sure Baird had put the Library up to it). “Don’t you start Jenkins! Baird’s already given me the whole ‘if Stone jumped off a cliff, would you’ spiel.” That had been embarrassing. The last time he’d heard that, it was from his mother, asking him ‘if your friend handed back someone’s wallet without emptying it first, would you?’ “I think my ears are still burning…”
“I do believe the entire Library heard her, Mr Jones.” Jenkins said with a barely there smirk.
“And it’s not like Baird’s never done stupid things before!”
“I trust Colonel Baird’s judgement over yours, Mr Jones. While her plans and ideas can err on the side of… self-destruction for other’s sakes, she does have the experience and knowledge to come out the other side mostly intact. You, however, do not.”
Ezekiel huffed. “So, what? Are you saying that if I see Baird jumping off a cliff, I should just swan dive?”
Jenkins gave a sigh that seemed to encompass centuries worth of patience with utter stupidity. “If Colonel Baird was to jump off a cliff, she would have done her due diligence regarding the height of the cliff, the depth of the water, and the angle of entry. So yes, if you see Eve jump off a cliff, by all means, jump off a cliff.”
Flopping onto his back with a sigh, narrowly missing a teetering pile of cards, Ezekiel groaned, “You jump off a cliff.”
“Gladly,” Jenkins said offhandedly. “As long as Colonel Baird does it first.”
(When Jones continued to just lie there, grumbling, Jenkins decided to go and grab his enlarging glass from his lab. If, as he left, the tail of his coat barely brushed a card, resulting in a landslide of paper right on top of a certain Librarian’s face, well… there had been many accidents in the Library today.)
Later that day, Ezekiel cursed Jenkins for jinxing him.
“Are you fucking serious?!” He screamed at his Guardian, who was easily keeping pace with his less-than-elegant sprint for his life.
“Less shouting, more running!” She shouted (the hypocrite) before ducking under the rudimentary arrow that flew from behind.
Ezekiel chanced a glance back – nope, they were still being chased. While the Jarawa people had largely become regular visitors to settlements, entertained tourists and had adapted in many ways to modern life, some off the smaller tribes still shunned all outside contact. Personally, Ezekiel didn’t know why he was the one pulled along for this case. If you’re trying to convince paranoid tribesmen, no, you shouldn’t try praying to this artefact for a vengeful god to come and wipe out the foreigners because you might get wiped out with them, perhaps someone who could speak the language would be useful.
But no. Stone was already dealing with something on the other side of the country with Flynn and Cass was at some conference that Eve hadn’t wanted to pull her away from. So, Jones was the one who had to sneak into a temple and steal a pretty ugly looking statue off the alter while Eve distracted everyone else. Even priests (maybe holy men?) would come running if someone let the cows out.
Unfortunately, the cows also managed to knock down the barn – and their entrance to the Back Door. So Ezekiel and Eve were now running.
Just another day in the life of a Librarian.
Which brought him back to now.
“No, Colonel, more shouting! I’m not jumping off a freaking cliff!”
Baird had the balls to smirk at him, even as she pulled him out of the way of another arrow. “Glad to see you’re learning, Jones, but maybe right now isn’t the best time!”
They had been following the coastline for a little while now, hoping to come to another settlement, or possibly even find a boat to commandeer, but apparently neither of them had been paying attention to the fact that the earth was going up. There was a distinct lack of ground some distance away, and Ezekiel dug in his heels. There was some forest further along and down – maybe they could hide in there.
“What happened to not jumping off a cliff if your friends do?”
There was a terrifyingly strong grip on his upper arm. Another hand grabbed his opposite shoulder. Suddenly Ezekiel was no longer freaking steering. That cliff was getting awfully close.
“Fine,” Baird said lightly, “No jumping off a cliff unless I’m there to make you. Now jump!”
Just before their feet left the ground, he heard Baird laugh. “This is just like Hawaii!”
“What the hell happened in –”
The impact drove all air from Ezekiel’s lungs. He flailed for a moment, the ugly statue pulling him down, before a strong arm was wrapped around his chest and he was pulled up, bursting through the water to take in sweet, fresh air.
Until a wave crashed over his head.
Spluttering, panting, coughing – Ezekiel didn’t know how the hell he just survived jumping into the freaking ocean from a freaking cliff. When his feet came in contact with sand, he swore that he was never visiting the beach again.
A warm hand came down on his back once, twice, before gentling into a soothing rub. “Still with me Jones?”
He glared up through his sopping wet fringe. “Yeah, no thanks to you! I know Jenkin’s mentioned it, but I didn’t think it would actually happen!”
“What did Jenkins say?” Baird asked, squeezing the water out of her hair before flicking it back. He winced at the heavy thud.
“Just that if I ever saw you jump off a cliff, I should follow. Because apparently you’re the most responsible out of all of us.”
Her mouth twisted, just a little. “Let’s just leave it at we all get into strange situations, and sometimes they require strange actions to resolve them.”
“Yeah. Let’s go with that.” Ezekiel flopped onto his back, ignoring the sand that itched under his clothes. “How did you even know this was here?”
Baird sat beside him and dropped her jacket over his face. “I did look at maps and stuff before we came Jones.”
They sat in easy silence for a little bit. Baird certainly didn’t seem in too much of a hurry to move.
“So,” Ezekiel began, “What happened in Hawaii?”
Baird just laughed and stood up, brushing sand off her legs. “Remind me to take you and Stone BASE jumping. Considering what you guys were doing with those flying carpets, you might just enjoy it.”

CR Quarantine meta thoughts
So I thought I’d give a quick approximation of where I am with Critical Role and where I think C2 will go and where the characters still have to go before the campaign comes to a close.
In order name-wise
1. Beauregard
As of right now she seems to be in not the best place. Her major goal along with Caleb’s for the last 40 chapters was to bring an end to the war. Now that there’s an uneasy peace, she’s partially conflicted on what to do next and how the people behind this war should face justice and whether the costs of that could outweigh the risks. She also wants to tell jester about how she feels and her apprehension to this seems to be based on her self worth. This came up again as a result of visiting her father and she seems to think that she could lose everything and go back to being an outsider without a place again. There’s also her old girlfriend who was arrested that the party might run into. Not to avoid mentioning, Yasha and her having some feeling toward each other before E69 and how her returning may complicate her feelings with Jester. A lot of moving pieces. How she deals with her feelings and her family is something I’m definitely interested in.
2. Caduceus
Caduceus is currently finding his purpose in helping others find theirs and seems to be committed until some arbitrarily defined point where everyone seems fine off on their own. I do think part of him will realize that he’s not beholden to these people and that he doesn’t owe them anything and they like him for who he is. I think he knows this subconsciously but he’s a very duty driven man and it’ll be interesting to see how this changes when he realizes the M9 have developed over time and might not need him but still continue to want him. There’s also still the grove and whether what he has done is enough to save it. This remains to be seen and might be handled more towards the endgame depending on how powerful the source of the corruption is.
3. Caleb
Caleb seems to have progressed a lot on overcoming his desire to change fate. He straight up mentions “ you can’t change the past” in talking about personal compliance in causing harm but I don’t think he’s completely over the ideas of going back in time and erasing his sin from happening. He’s certainly much more comfortable with where he is now and has found himself a family again. His main goal right now still seems to be finding away to bring the Cerebrus Assembly (or more accurately the bad seeds in the assembly) to justice without jeopardizing the unsteady peace they’ve won. This seems to be leading into Mighty Nein Navy Seals Vigilantism but might involve a ton of investigative journalism as well. I have no doubt that his plot hook and that of his former organization will continue to play a big role in the story going forward. The extent he can change the organization and possibly even turn his childhood friends away from the path of trent is another interesting side plot. The same goes for his buddy Essek and how he decides to react to Caleb wanting him to make amends for the mistake he’s made.
4. Fjord
Fjord is a super interesting character especially when comparing him before and after the Pirate Arc. A lot of people, for clear reasons, separate Fjord’s attitude based on when he lost his accent but to me his change in personality came a bit earlier than that. His role as a character for the Mighty Nein early on was as one of the faces, the badass Texan smooth guy who was able to get what he wanted generally easy and was afraid of flexing his martial might. This kind of escalated a bit, one of the moments which really stuck with me was when he cut off Algar’s hand after he already had him beaten. It’s mentioned by Fjord later on that he found himself using more power / violence as a short cut to get where he wanted and that he feels he started to cheat himself by doing so. Once they ended their pirate adventure, Fjord seemed like he took more of a backseat with his role as a leader in the group and I think part of that was due to him questioning if he really deserved to be a leader. This also tied in with him questioning whether following Ukotoa was the right choice and his realization he couldn’t game the system and earn powers with nothing expected in return. This culminated in him renouncing Satan...I mean Uka’Toa and following the Wildmother as a paladin. Since he has done so he’s starting to act more reasonably and less impulsive when there’s a possibility of conflict. He’s humbled himself and I think he feels it’s more freeing than what he was before he changed as a person. The one thing that has accompanied this though is a string of combat misfortunes (due to dumb luck) which is a neat perpendicular to his personal growth. He feels more free and more himself but he may feel weaker than he did when he was putting on a mask. I don’t think this will lead to him having second thoughts as a Paladin but I think it’s building up to him eventually assuming a larger role asa leader once he truly realizes that he can be both himself AND great. Caduceus has mentioned this before about ‘one day someone will ask for a miracle and you’ll be there to help’ and I cannot wait for the moment where Fjord is able to get a HDYWTDT and be generally badass in his New Voice and prove to himself that he had nothing to worry about.
5. Jester
Jester is my favorite version of a cheerful but awkward person, earlier on she kind of had me worrying about how much trouble she’d get them into but I over time realized that she has control over what she does and when she’s chaotic randomly vs when she has a purpose behind it. Case in point, the Cupcake Scene which was excellent and super risky but really paid off. Right now she’s dealing once again with how she feels as a disciple of the Traveler and the revelation he’s not a god revealed to her right before Travellercon. Now she’s kind of wondering what to do with several other devotees and what even will happen with him in the future regarding his divinity. I’m very interested in how this event will shape out and if there’s any 3rd party intervention into the story that will occur at this place during the time. It just seems like a narrative point where Matt could reveal something huge. But then again everyone expected fireworks at the meeting at Sea and cooler heads prevailed so maybe everything will work out swimmingly. Anyways I can’t wait to see what her next journey is after Travellercon, it will probably involve her dad and mother and may involve Darktow and is sure to not be predictable. There’s also her romance options but there’s a myriad of ways that could go and everyone else on tumblr has mentioned it so I’ll leave my peace there.
6. Veth
Veth essentially got exactly what she wanted and there’s no grand reason for her to stick around besides her enjoying the company of these people and possibly something similar like Caduceus’ “To the end of the road” type thing. She loves her family obviously the most of all, which was most pointedly seen when she insulted Caleb and blamed him for what happened to her husband after being super supportive of him for the first 49 episodes. I think she still has a lot of growth to do as a character and there might be an avenue with her prejudices. Someone else on here has mentioned it before but basically, Veth is kind of a suburban wine mom who believes a bunch of stereotypes and has a “us vs them” type of mentality. That’s one possibly route for her to go if she decides to stick around for awhile. It is possible a huge event is around the corner that throws Wildemount into disarray and requires her to stay for awhile but we’re currently in a limbo where her leaving after travelercon would make sense.
7. Yasha
Yasha is right now in a bit of a floating period. She really wants to make up for her role in Obann’s schemes even though it’s not her fault. She had a heart to heart with Caleb where he basically told her the pain never really goes away but it can be eased by the company by the company you keep. So her redemption can be pretty open-ended. I really want to see her wings again and please let them be white and feathery, I would love it. There’s also the possibility of her wife being alive / them running into her old tribe, with the boss behind it still being alive and there being some sort of conflict like how Grog had his issues with the Herd of Storms. Ashley is a full time member for the first time so hopefully there’s a lot to do with her on the cards and we get to see more juicy fireside interactions with the Nein.

Weekly Reading: 7/01 - 7/07
July 1st - July 7th
Tumblr media
To The Collective
We’re still riding a wave of retrogrades this week, and we’re still in a mode of slow down and breathe. Just as I mentioned last week, we really need to look at this slow moving energy front as a blessing, one last calm before the storm, one last chance to get our shit together.
Last week there was more of a focus on actually getting yourself to stop paddling against the current and really start flowing with what is now coming your way. This week, we’re still there, but most of us are in the realm of having a much better idea of what it is we actually need to be doing, what we actually need to be focusing on, therefore our attention can now be on fine tuning our environment, both externally and internally.
Obviously, the basic advice for most of the transits occurring this week is the usual don’t be reckless, don’t start brand new projects (plan for them if you can), don’t act or speak before you’ve really thought it through, make sure that what you do and what you say this week is necessary and productive to the current ascension process we are in now.
For the week, and for the collective, I simply asked for a stack from my oracle deck and the cards above are what came out. Funnily enough, the way I laid them out actually made them line up and make sense top to bottom and they provide specific points for all of us to keep in mind as we navigate through the first week of July.
-notes on the individual sets under the cut-
The Tribe and Co-create
Find your people.
This has been a theme for a lot of the signs for a while as well. Finding your soul tribe, connecting energetically or spiritually, entering a space that is vibrationally on par with you. This can involve literally being with other people physically, stepping into new social groups with similar views and similar ways of being, but for the most part, this feels more out of body.
There’s a lot of communication here to, a lot of developing those “out of body” connections by stabilizing the conscious connection — basically, we all need to start speaking our minds and expressing ourselves to the fullest. Of course, this does not mean we need to let our bitch flag fly and just start going off on people, this is more about speaking so that we can have the opportunity to listen.
Obviously, with the co-create there, a lot of “brainstorming” can come from this, a lot of ideas for business ventures, travel plans, or even just delving into conversations of spirituality and philosophy — thing things that make the soul bonds stronger, the things that genuinely raise the collective vibration of your “tribe.”
All That Glitters  and Loyal Heart
This follows right along with the first set.
Just as the theme was a few weeks ago, relationships still need to be assessed with a critical eye right now. We still need to all pay attention to how the people we surround ourselves with make us feel, what do they contribute to us, what do we give to them? Is this a fair relationship of give and take? Why are these people and these relationships important to you? When, how, and why did these relationships form? Are they still beneficial to you now?
It can be quite a shitty process to have to analyze your own connection with people around you. You might discover that people you truly love are actually sucking the life out of you and they are someone you need to step away from. You might find that you yourself are the overbearing person in a relationship and for the sake of relinquishing control of the person, and therefore relinquishing control over other situations in your life, you need to let them go. It’s a difficult but necessary process in all facets of life, in all phases, for all ages.
Ask yourself who takes up most of your attention, who literally leaves you feeling drained after they walk away, who really has a negative impact on you? Sometimes these things aren’t even noticeable to us at first glance and we really need to dig deep and take the time to look around at the space where our own energy mixes in with others.
Of course, for anyone worried, this does not mean you need to spend this week literally chopping people out of your life and writing them off like they never existed. This is more about knowing your boundaries, knowing your own limits, knowing and honoring where and when your energy, your time, and your attention can be spent. This doesn’t have to be an earth shattering process.
By The Book and Clean It Up
This set here I feel is more for the people who already have their plans together, have everything picture perfect in their head and are just waiting for the opportunity to take the plunge.
What I saw was people stealing blueprints from other people, literally going “by the book” that was written up by someone else. It wasn’t anything bad or malicious, it was more like Person A did something successfully and Person B, in spite of the fact that what they are doing and their goals, in general, are nothing alike, decided they wanted to take the schematic from them to try and achieve the same level of success with a completely different venture.
Doesn’t seem like such a big deal, no different than taking some advice from someone with a bit more experience, however, one person’s plans may not be suitable for another's personal capabilities. For instance, on a personal level, I wanted to do full weekly readings for all 12 signs every single week because that’s what everyone else was doing and they were all doing pretty well with it, but honestly, I’m just not capable of doing that right now. I am someone who likes to do a lot of things in a small amount of time, so having to spend such a long time on doing individual readings for all 12 signs can be a bit much on me, so I had to adapt to something that I could handle.
This is the same for a lot of people. They have their plans, but a lot of their plans are based on things that they might not be fully capable of handling when the time comes. They’re not even fully aware that they are incapable of that particular plan of action until their actually trying to pull it off, which can lead to hinderance, and let downs, and could bring the whole thing tumbling down.
This set here, if it resonates at all, is asking you to really settle in and look over those ideas and make sure that your plan of action is something that is your own,  is something that you can handle on your own. If not, clean it up. Rework things, make sure your resources match up to what it is you need to get for yourself, make sure your time is used wisely with work and relaxation being looked after equally.
Really, when it comes down to it, make sure that what you’re doing is what you want to be doing in its entirety. The whole thing, the whole plan, the whole goal, the whole dream has to be yours in order for you to be invested enough that your mind, soul, and energy line up enough that you actually manifest the results you want to see.
Fork in The Road and No Place Like Home
I mean, this one is pretty obvious, and I think this just goes for anyone at all who happens to stumble across this.
If for any reason at all you feel lost this week, feel overwhelmed, feel out of sync or disconnected, it is okay to just tap out for a bit. You’re not setting yourself back or wasting time with anything by taking a break when you need it. Whether it’s through meditation, or just watching a good show or some youtube videos, entering a space of contentment when you need to will put you back on track.
Again, we’re dealing with a lot of retrogrades right now and we will be for a while, so rest up when you can. Take care of yourself. When things get rough on the path that you are on, you can come back to the start and just relax for a minute, focus on where you came from and how far you’ve come, and when you’re ready, stand up and keep moving.
-A Note on Weekly Readings going forward -
As I mentioned above, I have a lot on my plate (maybe not a lot, but a lot for me) right now and doing 12 readings every week is a bit much, so I came up with a new plan of action for the weekly readings. Rather than individual readings for all 12 signs every single week what I’m going to do is post a “To The Collective” reading like this one here for the weeks where there is no full or new moon. On the weeks where there is a full or new moon, I will post the individual 12 sign readings.
It’s a simple change, but I think this would actually help me manage my time much better with personal readings and celebrity reading requests and all that fun stuff.
Also, I will be working on an FAQ soon as well and will be posting that here soon, so keep an eye out for that.
Happy July!

Day 3: Bath, The Home of the Roman Bath
Last night’s sleep was very comfortable, especially given the ongoing need to adjust to the time here and the constant realization that not sleeping on the plane would leave us with residual sleep deprivation that would follow along with us for awhile. It was really hard to get out of the warm bed this morning but free breakfast was calling and we couldn’t miss our chance at free breakfast!
And the breakfast was super worth it! Instead of sitting down at a table and being provided some slices of bread and jam, some yogurt, and some fruit like you usually get at run-of-the-mill lodgings around the world, we were given a simple menu of breakfast options to choose from. Whoa, we get to pick!? And pick we did! Cynthia ordered a Full English Breakfast and I had an Eggs Benedict with Ham. Both were delicious and a great surprise for breakfast. After lounging around the comfy breakfast area for a bit while sipping our tea and coffee, we eventually got up to pack and check out of the inn.
We drove into Bath and luckily found a parking garage that was located conveniently close to midtown and didn’t charge a ransom. After figuring out how to pay for parking, we proceeded to walk into town. At first glance, Bath was a typical European city with some walkable downtown pedestrian-only streets and alleys with tourist attractions and abbeys to see and restaurants and shops to explore. But given the season, Bath was all Christmas-ed up in preparation for the upcoming Christmas holidays! Storefronts were decorated with Christmas decorations. Christmas music was playing everywhere. And people were setting up Christmas market stalls for the upcoming Bath Christmas festival and market, a big deal in the area around the holiday season.
Our first stop in Bath was the Ancient Roman Baths, the namesake for the city. It ended up being a long stop given how much more there was to see and learn at this attraction than just the Roman baths preserved from long ago. There was so much history behind the baths, the city, and the people who once lived here and those who settled here from the Roman Empire afterward. And the entrance fee covered an audio-guided tour, which made it easy to stay and learn as much as possible about the baths. We probably spent around two hours at the Ancient Roman Baths learning all about old Britain back in the day, the Ancient Romans, and these historic baths before finally leaving to check out the rest of the city.
Like previous places we had visited, we strolled through town and stopped by stores and shops here and there to check them out. We stopped at Bath Abbey before spending some time in Mr. B’s Emporium Bookshop, a fun and rather large bookshop with tons of books, before leaving to find a place for afternoon tea. We peeked at one or two tea shops before deciding that we’d hold off on tea until later in the afternoon to make the most of the opportunity to see Bath before the late afternoon darkness arrived. So we continued to tour Bath, stopping by the Pulteney Bridge and Laura Place Fountain and then roaming around random streets until the daylight dimmed.
By dusk, we were ready for afternoon tea. But the afternoon tearooms weren’t ready for us. A lot of them were already closed or close to closing time. We walked through town once or twice trying to find open tea shops to stop at before finally settling on a place called Sweet Little Things. By the time we actually got there and sat down, the kitchen was closed for the day and all that was available were whatever pastries or cakes they had at the front counter. So we ordered the orange and lavender cake with some hot chocolate to enjoy within the warmth of the restaurant.
It was nice to sit down and relax for a bit after a full day of walking the town. But eventually we left to explore just a tad bit more before deciding on a place for dinner. Given that we just had some cake, we weren’t starving but thought it was a good idea to get some dinner before the long drive to our AirBnB near London Heathrow. Ultimately, after throwing some ideas out there, we decided on getting Nando’s for dinner! Yup, THE Nando’s! A Portugese chicken restaurant that holds a special place in my heart ever since I first had it back in 2010 in Brisbane and a place that is surprisingly hard to come by in the U.S.
Thinking that we were hungrier than we actually were, we ended up ordering a full chicken combo meal with four sides. It was delicious but by the end of it all, we had so much food left over to take home with us. WHY DID WE ORDER A FULL CHICKEN!? Should’ve known better! But it was delicious and an easy meal without putting much thought and effort into looking for a new and unique place on TripAdvisor to try for dinner.
With our bellies full of delicious food, we walked around the dead quiet streets of downtown Bath one last time to digest half the chicken we ate before getting our car and starting our return trip back to the London area, where we were staying for the night before a really early flight out to Edinburgh in the wee hours of the morning.
5 Things I Learned Today:
1. You can hear birds chirping in England at 2AM in the morning. WTF.... Whyyyyyy???
2. Bath, also known back in the day as Aquae Sulis, is known for its Ancient Roman baths, discovered in the late 19th century. At that time, the Roman baths and a temple were discovered in the area. The actual bath was likely already constructed by 69 AD based on historical evidence but the springs were used earlier by local tribes, like the Dobunni and the Durotriges, likely long before the Romans came to Britain in 43 AD.
3. Beware: tea houses close early. I guess that makes some sense since you should eat dinner at some point in the day and if you have afternoon tea TOO late, you probably won’t make it to dinner.
4. In order to use prepaid Vodafone (or other) SIM cards in the UK with a foreign phone that isn’t used to using prepaid SIMs, you have to change some of the addresses (like the APN and WAP) to pp.vodafone.co.uk (for Vodafone SIMs, at least). Make sure you do this for multiple addresses (as seen above) in your phone settings so that if you need to create a personal hotspot, you can as well. Didn’t learn this until stopping by a Vodafone store to troubleshoot the personal hotspot issue we were having.
5. A lot of sinks in England are somewhat old school and run hot and cold water through separate faucets. WHY???? How do I get warm water without a cup to mix it in?? Why must it be so difficult??

Top 10 Anime With Great Female Lead
There are many anime which has strong female leads ! Here are 10 such anime with strong female lead !
10 ) Kaze No Stigma
Kazuma Yagami is a user of “Fuujutsu,” the ability to control the wind. He returns to his old home, the noble Kannagi household, after being banished four years ago for his inability to control fire and his subsequent defeat in a duel at the hands of his younger cousin, Ayano Kannagi.
Returning after such a brutal exile already gives rise to many conflicts, but to make matters worse, several Kannagi family members have recently been murdered with Fuujutsu. This leads the Kannagi family, including the hot-headed Ayano, to suspect Kazuma as the culprit. Now, Kazuma must not only clear his name, but also aid the family he shares a mutual hatred with, in order to discover the true identity of the killer.
9 ) Vampire Knight
Cross Academy is an elite boarding school with two separate, isolated classes: the Day Class and the Night Class. On the surface, Yuuki Cross and Zero Kiryuu are prefects of the academy, and attempt to keep order between the students as classes rotate in the evenings. As the Night Class is full of utterly gorgeous elites, this can sometimes prove to be a bit difficult. It is completely necessary, however, as those “elites” are actually vampires. Yuuki and Zero act as guardians, protecting the secrets of the Night Class and the safety of their ignorant morning counterparts.
As the adopted daughter of the academy’s chairman, Yuuki takes her job with a serious and energetic attitude. It also allows her to interact with her secret crush and savior, the president of the Night students’ dorm, Kaname Kuran. Zero, on the other hand, has a deep-rooted hatred against vampires, and at times, does not hesitate to kill.
Can vampires and humans co-exist, even in the strict setup of the Cross Academy? Only time will tell.
8 ) Kill La kill
After the murder of her father, Ryuuko Matoi has been wandering the land in search of his killer. Following her only lead—the missing half of his invention, the Scissor Blade—she arrives at the prestigious Honnouji Academy, a high school unlike any other. The academy is ruled by the imposing and cold-hearted student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin alongside her powerful underlings, the Elite Four. In the school’s brutally competitive hierarchy, Satsuki bestows upon those at the top special clothes called “Goku Uniforms,” which grant the wearer unique superhuman abilities.
Thoroughly beaten in a fight against one of the students in uniform, Ryuuko retreats to her razed home where she stumbles across Senketsu, a rare and sentient “Kamui,” or God Clothes. After coming into contact with Ryuuko’s blood, Senketsu awakens, latching onto her and providing her with immense power. Now, armed with Senketsu and the Scissor Blade, Ryuuko makes a stand against the Elite Four, hoping to reach Satsuki and uncover the culprit behind her father’s murder once and for all.
7 ) Otogizoushi
The year is 972 A.D. in Kyoto, the capital of ancient Japan. Kyoto is becoming a corrupt and run-down city; selfish samurai and onmyoji, who care only about gaining political power are everywhere. To make matters worse the city is suffering from famine and widespread disease. Unable to ignore the condition of the city any longer, the Imperial Court decides to send Minamoto no Raiko, a famous samurai well-known for his archery skills, to recover a legendary gem said to hold mysterious power to save the world. However Raiko also falls ill to disease. Instead his youngest sister, Hikaru, decides secretely to make the journey in his place. Hikaru meets many people, and has many adventures while on her trip for the legendary gem.
6 ) Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran
In the Edo or Tokugawa period (1600–1868), Ran, a female wandering samurai whose skill with the katana is only matched by her taste for sake (rice wine), is joined by a chinese martial artist who calls herself Lady Meow of the Iron Cat Fist. Tsukikage Ran has individual episodes that are just short stories of their adventures.
5 ) Akatsuki No Yona
Princess Yona lives a life of luxury and ease, completely sheltered from the problems of the seemingly peaceful Kingdom of Kouka; however, the sudden murder of the king and betrayal of her beloved cousin Su-won places Yona’s life in mortal peril. Forced to escape only with Son Hak, who is both her childhood friend and bodyguard, the naïve princess soon discovers that Kouka is not the idyllic place she envisioned it to be. Poverty, strife, and corruption run rampant, making reclaiming the throne nothing more than a wishful fantasy given the kingdom’s current state.
Based on the popular manga of the same name by Mizuho Kusanagi, Akatsuki no Yona follows Princess Yona on a coming-of-age adventure as she faces the harsh realities of her kingdom. With only a mysterious legend to guide her, Yona must discover a way to restore Kouka to its former glory while being pursued relentlessly by the forces of the new King of Kouka.
4 ) Chihayafuru
Chihaya Ayase, a strong-willed and tomboyish girl, grows up under the shadow of her older sister. With no dreams of her own, she is contented with her share in life till she meets Arata Wataya. The quiet transfer student in her elementary class introduces her to competitive karuta, a physically and mentally demanding card game inspired by the classic Japanese anthology of Hundred Poets. Captivated by Arata’s passion for the game and inspired by the possibility of becoming the best in Japan, Chihaya quickly falls in love with the world of karuta. Along with the prodigy Arata and her haughty but hard-working friend Taichi Mashima, she joins the local Shiranami Society. The trio spends their idyllic childhood days playing together, until circumstances split them up.
Now in high school, Chihaya has grown into a karuta freak. She aims to establish the Municipal Mizusawa High Competitive Karuta Club, setting her sights on the national championship at Omi Jingu. Reunited with the now indifferent Taichi, Chihaya’s dream of establishing a karuta team is only one step away from becoming true: she must bring together members with a passion for the game that matches her own.
3 )  The Twelve Kingdoms
Nakajima Youko is your average somewhat timid high school student. One day, a strange man named Keiki appears before her, swearing allegiance. Before she could properly register what was happening, demon-like creatures attack Youko and her friends, after which they are pulled into a different world. A world unlike what she has ever known. Separated from Keiki, Youko and her friends must do whatever they can if they wish to survive in this new world.
2 ) Princess Mononoke
When an Emishi village is attacked by a fierce demon boar, the young prince Ashitaka puts his life at stake to defend his tribe. With its dying breath, the beast curses the prince’s arm, granting him demonic powers while gradually siphoning his life away. Instructed by the village elders to travel westward for a cure, Ashitaka arrives at Tatara, the Iron Town, where he finds himself embroiled in a fierce conflict: Lady Eboshi of Tatara, promoting constant deforestation, stands against Princess San and the sacred spirits of the forest, who are furious at the destruction brought by the humans. As the opposing forces of nature and mankind begin to clash in a desperate struggle for survival, Ashitaka attempts to seek harmony between the two, all the while battling the latent demon inside of him. Princess Mononoke is a tale depicting the connection of technology and nature, while showing the path to harmony that could be achieved by mutual acceptance.
1 ) Orange
Naho Takamiya’s first day of her sophomore year of high school is off to an uneasy start. After waking up late, she receives a strange letter addressed to her. However, the letter is from herself—10 years in the future! At first, Naho is skeptical of the note; yet, after witnessing several events described to take place, she realizes the letter really is from her 26-year-old self.
The note details that Naho’s future life is filled with regrets, and she hopes that her younger self can correct the mistakes that were made in the past. The letter also warns her to keep a close eye on the new transfer student, Kakeru Naruse. Naho must be especially careful in making decisions involving him, as Kakeru is not around in the future. With the letter as her guide, Naho now has the power to protect Kakeru before she comes to regret it once more.
Make sure to watch all of these ! I am going to make a part 2 for this list 🙂   Stay tuned !

You want to tell them about what we've been doing recently? I thought last session was pretty good.
You’re just saying that because your sub-plot kicked into gear last game and you got to enjoy the narrative spotlight for a while.  :3c
That said, some other folk have been asking about the tabletop game, so why not?
Each Friday with my local group of friends (@ihavenoideahowthisworks here included in that number) I’ve been running a Pathfinder game, as I’ve had the DM bug recently.  I tend to roll heavy with “Rule of Cool” and “Rule of Funny”, so I err on the side of fun rather than sticking strictly to the hard numbers in the books.  Lots of house rules, lots of alcohol, good times all around.
The current party, all freshly 10th level as of last session, consists of:
Shaemus Sigmindson, a Chaotic-Good Half-Elf Rogue and the party’s friendly neighborhood backstabber.  Due to him hastily putting on what turned out to be a Cursed Ring and a few other magical hijinks, he’s now really good at climbing any and all surfaces at a rate of 60′ per round.  So he pretty much never touches the floor if he can help it and Xenomorph-scurries all around dungeons to literally get the drop on enemies.
Abby Noh Rahmael, a Chaotic Neutral Tiefling Magus.  Despite being highly fiendish in many literal ways, she’s the bubbly, wide-eyed heart of the team.  She has a particular knack for getting along with monsters, which leaves her heartbroken when the party inevitably kills them.  She’s recently adopted a young Cloaker and is raising it as a Monstrous Animal Companion.
Valka, a Neutral Evil Human Kineticist.  He’s a people person… with a drinking problem.  Valka is a former pirate/mafia smuggler who’s since become landbound for reasons unknown, and boy howdy does he make the land work for him.  He’s the party’s personal canon capable of putting out massive volumes of damage via Earth and Fire elemental attacks, Korra-style.  The hard part is getting him to cooperate, not fly into vengeful murderous rages over the tiniest of slights, or do really anything without first being paid.
Wenden Jardecha, a Neutral Good Human Warpriest.  Acts a whole lot like a Paladin despite not actually being one, primarily due to his method of worship.  He follows the goddess Sarenrae - a deity of forgiveness and righteousness, though she draws a line as to when evil people are beyond redemption.  Wenden prefers to enforce that line with a sword.  He’s also proven himself really good at crowd control by locking down Boss-Level enemies with status effects.
Henc Jardecha, a Neutral Good Human Arcanist.  The younger brother of Wenden.  Henc is a know-it-all spellcaster who likes to hang in the background mostly being unobtrusive, maybe casting a little Prestidigitation here and there for dramatic effect.  Until he suddenly decides to Summon a horde of powerful monsters and start tossing around Lightning Bolts when the whim takes him.  He has all of the Knowledge Skills and then some, and boy howdy does he love to rub those high info rolls in everyone’s face.
The game began with an Episode 0 where the party played pre-generated base characters not their own.  They delved into a Goblin-infested ruin after getting word of a mysterious monster living there that had been terrorizing local farmlands.  They met a Kobold Sorceress outside who joined the group and sort of helped them along, discovered a Goblin Chieftain who was weirdly upset with his role of leadership, and eventually faced off with the monster in question - a young Black Dragon.  Despite nearly dying in the process, the party managed to drive off the Dragon… only for the Sorceress and the Chieftain to reveal themselves to be a pair of Kobold thieves in disguise.  They’d been casing the joint before the party showed up and, after using them to get rid of the Dragon, pilfered a small box from the treasure hoard and made their escape.
Following that, Episode 1 kicks in.  The plot so far is that the group - a team from the Pathfinder Society of Adventurers - has been dispatched to the coastal city of Sandpoint upon hearing reports of Werewolves in the region.  Their investigation has taken them to Fangwood Keep - a module I’ve heavily edited and customized - and brought them into conflict with a horde of Hobgoblins that had taken over the castle.  After teaming up with a small militia of irregulars the Hobgoblins had kicked out of said keep, the party took back the structure and discovered that it was actually built from the ruins of an Elven wizard’s tower.  However, nothing was really clean-cut about the whole ordeal.  The party kept finding strange markings set everywhere, oddly mutated creatures, and even Goblinoids altered into far more powerful states wielding unusual magical weapons.  When they finally cornered and confronted the leader of the Hobgoblin tribe, it was revealed that the tribe had been hired by an unknown benefactor to take the Keep so that he could explore its secrets.  After a bit of quick decision-making and some fisticuffs between the Tiefling and the Hobgoblin Leader in an honor duel, the Hobgoblins actually cut a deal to leave unmolested and escape back to their own territory.
Digging deeper revealed the presence of an odd pocket space where the Elven wizard’s inner sanctum lay, filled with Fae and other odd creatures from the First World who had somehow become trapped there.  Some were hostile, others were friendly, but they all just want to go home.  In delving further in, the party uncovered evidence of the strange man who’d hired the Hobgoblins performing foul experiments.  After making their way to a buried chamber deep within the ruins, they finally came face to face with him… so to speak.  Not only was the stranger disguised entirely in a suit of fiendish living armor, but he was accompanied by two Black Dragons: the same young one that the first party had faced in Episode 0 and its mother, a terrifyingly powerful sorceress Dragon.  While their intentions for being in the Keep remained unclear, it all seemed to be part of the Strange Man’s experiments and research.
In the brief conflict that followed, the Strange Man readily offered a bribe to the party to simply turn around and leave without confrontation.  As the value of the bribe rose steadily to over 100k Gold Pieces, Valka happily accepted the deal (Shaemus was incredibly tempted and left his decision up to a die roll).  The Dragons weren’t happy about the Strange Man using their hoard as collateral though and decided to just kill the party instead.  Wenden ended up taking the worst of it and was briefly slain, though oddly the Strange Man exercised magic that kept him from dying even as his associates continued to fight…
While the party fended off the Mother Dragon to varying degrees of success, Wenden ended up being visited by his goddess Sarenrae and one of her Astral Deva heralds in a near-death-experience vision.  It was there the herald explained that the Strange Man they’d encountered was once a follower of Sarenrae as well.  And that he still is, to this present day, a Paladin.  He’s completely turned his back on his faith and has been doing everything he could think of to get the goddess to cut him loose of her influence, yet for reasons unexplained Sarenrae has refused to let him go.  Thus Wenden is given a divine quest: aid those the Strange Man has harmed, destroy his blasphemous Fiendflesh armor, and put a stop to his experiments.  However, the catch is that they cannot, under any circumstances, kill him - there’s too much risk of dark forces just waiting to snatch his soul and put his dangerous knowledge to use.
So, last we left off, the party had driven off their foes, so to speak.  The Strange Man cut the battle short when it became apparent the group was a genuine threat.  After halting time through some arcane scroll, he marked the group as part of his experiments and equipped them with a strange, magical deck of cards they’ve yet to fully understand.  With the Strange Man and the Dragons escaped for the time being, the party is left in possession of Fangwood Keep and a number of its First World occupants all relying on them to find a way home to their native plane.  As if that wasn’t enough, it also turned out that the Strange Man awakened some of his other test subjects on his way out, unleashing a pack of highly intelligent, magically capable Barghest Lycanthropes onto the land to give the party something to worry about rather than chasing him.

KOREAN ~ Father is Strange Empress: Weekend family dramas, not my thing... Ambassador: Welllll, Lee Joon is the main but it's a weekend family drama and I don't watch those.  Bye bye, possibility. Unni: This sounds......boring-ish...I’ll pass thank you much! ~ You're Too Much Empress: Heh, I like the impersonator angle. But again, nope. What they said. XD Ambassador: another long family weekend drama.  noooope.  Only long weekend dramas I watch are sageukes, because manes of glory are needed to offset the boredom.  And swords. Unni: *giggles at Ambassador’s reasons* But I have to agree, I have better things to be doing. ~ Queen of the Ring Empress: Hm, I might try it with my sister. We're always looking for short kdramas. XD Ambassador: another fantasy short.  Possibly I'll watch it?  Kim Seul Gi is genius at fantasy shorts if Splash Splash Love was anything to go by. Unni: Oh! This looks cute! I’ll probably fill in an afternoon or evening with this somewhere along the line. ~ Radiant Office Empress: I stay away from terminal illness dramas in general...(other than Marriage Contract, which was actually AMAZING). Ambassador: *barely stumbles through synopsis without dislocating jaw with yawns*  Lordy no.  I'd fall asleep. Unni: This...could be interesting. I might just peek at an episode before I decide on way or the other. ~ Whisper Empress: ...Yes....I have to check it out, obviously... Ambassador: YES.  This plot + Lee Bo Young and Lee Sang Yoon as leads with Lee Se Young as a secondary lead.  HECK YES. Unni: *pricks up ears* this sounds interesting. I’ll probably see what they think of it before I go for it...but we’ll see. Empress: *cracking up because Unni clearly knew what I was going to say* ~ Tunnel Empress: What Unni said - if it's like that I will love it.  And FINALLY, Choi Jin-Hyuk...XD {Even though I haven't managed to finish his drama Pride and Prejudice yet. That is a drama where actually knowing Korean would really help with understanding the plot...} Ambassador: I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR MONTHS.  CHOI JIN HYUK IS COMING BACK AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.  ESPECIALLY WITH THIS SYNOPSIS.  AND OCN BEING THE NETWORK. Unni: Hmm...time travel + serial killer= *wondering if this would be like 9 Times Time Travel meets Hello Monster* color me intrigued. ~ The Liar and his Lover Empress: I watched the Japanese movie because DUH Sato Takeru...I went on a Japanese movie binge following Bloody Monday...it wasn't the weirdest thing I watched because of Sato Takeru, but I spent most of the movie puzzling over why they were pairing up an adult musician and a high school girl and why that relationship was bothering no one. IGNORING THAT ASPECT (like the movie did...), I liked it. Bromance, music, and Sato Takeru's face. What's not to like. Come on. I really didn't feel like there was enough story there for a /drama/, but I'm going to have to check it out, if only to compare it to the movie. Ambassador: Lee Hyun Woo lands some pretty interesting roles but this one isn't high on my list.  Not enough to draw me in.  If Unni likes it, I might check it out.  It's based on a manga which can mean a better base for adaptations but Cheese in the Trap apparently showed how that can go wrong. Unni: Hmm, love and lies, this sounds UTTERLY PAINFUL...but then again it could have cute fluffy semi-tragic romance and a killer OST...which would be right up my ally....or it could be completely idiotic and I’ll be throwing my poor stuffed animals at the screen and screaming shut up in Chinese. I have a feeling I’ll be hooked on it....this could end badly for one of us. Empress: LOL you guys. ~ Trace of the Hand  (webdrama) Empress: *grinning* If Truly #short I might try this, just because it could be funny. Ambassador: I'm snickering so hard.  I might watch it, just because #webdrama and #short. Unni: HE SOUNDS AWFUL!!!! But isn’t this what we all want to do??????? *glances around* I mean...if we could wouldn’t we...but then we’d be the NSA..... *wonders if NSA agents are in love with people like us* I am digressing. This could be really cute, and I might watch it. CHINESE ~ House Full of Happiness Empress: Ufda. Okay, but mistranslated synopsis are frustrating but possibly hilarious, and this one... "yellow peony dusk love" and "suffered a small sister-in-law threat" --I'm cracking up. That said, it doesn't interest me. XD Ambassador: Well, it sounds like a bunch of family drama and I'm not normally keen on that but I might check this one out for the sister dynamic. Unni: My head hurts from this synopsis, but it could be....interesting but currently I am only interested in Chinese dramas that are of a historic nature. Chinese dramas don’t have the cute Taiwanese accent, juuuuuust sayin.... ~The Name of the People Empress: I feel like such a show being aired could be of historical note...but we'll see. Ambassador: A Chinese House of Cards, with Lu Yi?  GIVE ME.  NOW.  Even if it is more of a Communist POV, just GIMME. Unni: *leaves the Ambassador to her glory and moves on* Empress: The Unni has only just got me started on a Chinese drama I might actually finish...if the Ambassador loves this one, I'll go for it. XD ~ Razor Edge Empress: If it's anything like Gaksital, I am in. XD Ambassador: Sounds like a Chinese pseudo-Gaksital, at least as far as the politics and police sides go.  Absolutely trying this, out of sheer curiosity. Unni: I haven’t dared to try and tread in Gaksital...so I shall not tread here. ~ The Battle at the Dawn Empress: *wince* I love the title...I like historical...this sounds very painful. I'll wait to see what the Ambassador thinks. XD Ambassador: war, Liu Shi Shi, yep, yep, yep, count me in. Unni: This sounds like....a blood bath waiting to happen. I am not signing up to get my heart broken. ~ Dear Archimedes Empress: That...sounds intriguing. And it's only 20 episodes. *adds to list whether or not I'll ever get to it* Ambassador: Sounds a bit like Taiwan's Love Me If You Dare.  Hmmm.  I'll check it out, again because of that ever questing thing called CURIOSITY.  EXO's Sehun is in it, which'll be interesting but makes me think it won't be nearly as serious as Love Me If You Dare. Unni: *looks at Ambassador’s notes and moves Taiwanese Love Me If You Dare onto my list of things to watch*  *hears the Ambassador's information about it and moves it back off the list FAST* Empress: Heh, I want to stick the Taiwanese drama on there too.... ~ Across the Ocean to See You Empress: .......that again....if people were actually doing the idea in a new way, that'd be one thing, but when /that/ is the description... Ambassador: And the Ambassador yawns again!  Rom coms have that effect on me.  Needless to add, no, this isn't going on my list. Unni: I have enough fluff to keep me busy for the moment, and couples at odds isn’t my thing. ~ Feather Flies to the Sky Empress: This sounds interesting, but interesting in a I-want-to-read-a-history-book kind of way, and I'm not sure I want to spend my break time in that way. Ambassador: well, it sounds like it has lots of good research material but since it's not anything I need anytime soon, nope. Unni: Interesting, but I started to yawn, so a pass from me. ~ Head Above Water Empress: If Korean I'd be all over this...as is...I like the title and I'll wait to hear the Ambassador's verdict. XD Ambassador: Yes.  Police espionage thriller is the described genere.  YES. Unni: I leave this to the Ambassador. ~ Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy Empress: WOW...okay, I haven't gotten to Ice Fantasy yet, but maybe if I do, then I can put this on as my next Chinese fantasy. Depending on how it's done. XD Ambassador: FINALLY WE'RE GETTING THIS.  I've been seeing promo stuff for months and it's got me pretty interested.  *scrawls title at the top of TBW list* Unni: Warrior Princess...Spirit in a stone???..Okay, Novoland has caught my interest, but I haven’t jumped into full fantasy yet...who Knows I might give this a try yet. ~ I Love My President Though He's a Psycho Empress: That sounds like a TERRIBLE idea in real life...and usually when it's /that/ bad of an idea it wrecks my ability to enjoy even a fictional story...but wow, yeah, I do like the title, and it could one of those I "accidentally start." :) Ambassador: Definite props to the title for being attention grabbing.  Of all the bizarre plots I've come across recently, this is one of the weirdest.   It could be interesting but I feel like I'd personally get a headache so I'll pass for now.  Who knows though, if the internet buzz is good enough, I might surprise myself by trying it. Unni: I am so scratching my head over this! WHY WOULD YOU FALL FOR SOMEONE WITH A PERSONALITY DISORDER??? WHY!!!! I think I’ll leave this in the no thank you pile...unless my personality changes. ~ Fox Falls In Love Empress: LOL I don't think that's enough to make me watch it... Ambassador: No idea what the details of the plot are supposed to be, but the title and brief synopsis sound amusing.  I might add this to the very tail end of my list. Unni: I see what you did there Ambassador. This sounds cute. Maaaaaaaybe I’ll try a modern Chinese drama because I love foxes and rabbits, I bought fox and rabbit socks last week. Maybe it’s destiny.Empress: I'll be looking forward to seeing what the Unni and/or possibly the Ambassador thinks of it. XD ~ Because of You Empress: There's several similar Korean dramas I'd watch before I tried this one. Ambassador: apparently the Chinese version of Korea's Come! Jang Bo Ri?  Not enough flash and bang for me. Unni: I remember faintly being interested in Come! Jang Bo Ri....and seeing screen shots and going...I don’t know about this. This does sound semi interesting but I’d go for a Korean version long before I land myself in a tangled modern Chinese one. Empress: ^that. Feb dramas that weren't listed at the time February's WWW went up: ~ Above the Clouds Empress: Gah...Somehow this makes me think of Queen In Hyun's Man, and even without time travel, if it's like that I'll love it...but I'll wait to hear what it's like. XD Ambassador: Palace dramas, secrets across time, opening historical graves... oh yes, quite probably I'll watch this sometime.  Plus, Mabel Yuan is a favorite actress of mine. Unni: General & I has condemned me to open up my brain about Chinese dramas....this sounds like it could be interesting. ~ The Journey 2 Empress: Intriiiiiiiiguing....I feel like the dramas this month are SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING than last month's...this is seriously bad for my list...um, maybe? Ambassador: Can I have this power, please?  I feel like I'd be good at making people cry sincerely.  I likely won't watch it right away but definitely some day. Unni: Oh...this is a cool super power *sigh* whyyyyy does it have to be historical!!!! And look awesome and why is there a person with cool white hair on the cover.... Why GENERAL AND I YOU HAVE CONDEMNED ME!!!! MY LIFE WAS SO MUCH SIMPLER BEFORE I MET YOU! TAIWANESE ~ Q Series: House of Toy Bricks Empress: gahhhhhhh...that sounds tragic...and...yes, I have Q Series: Close Your Eyes Before It's Dark on my list, but I'm not adding this one. Ambassador: No, I don't watch horror. Unni: This is just....horrifying. No thank you. ~ The Perfect Match Empress: It's been a while since I watched a T-drama...I'll wait to hear what the Unni thinks. Ambassador: Nothing like a challenge to the ego of a man to rouse him.  Not likely I'll watch this, though it sounds amusing.  Unni, it's right up your alley. Unni: *SQUEAK* A FOODIE, ROM-COM, TAIWANESE DRAMA WITH A NIGHT MARKET!!!! *bounces up and down* YES YES YES YES YES PLEASE PLEASE AND THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! PLEASE BE GOOD!!! Empress: hee. I love how by now drama preferences are pretty clear...XD CANTONESE ~ Provocateur Empress: If this were a kdrama I'd try it. But I don't think my list is short enough to pull me into Cantonese dramas. Ambassador: ummmmm no.  I just don't have time, though it sounds interesting. Unni: Cantonese dramas almost always sound depressing to me, though if I had to speak with as many tones as they do, I might write depressed stories too. Which of these dramas will YOU be watching?
