I dunno, I think that post-Scum villain MXTX wants to write a poor mistreated Cinderella protagonist, but somehow keeps ending up with these wealthy, gifted, loved and admired guys that need a lesson in humility to earn their comforting big-dick boyfriend xD (Hard work, who? Don't know her, I was born better/wealthier!)

Like, the boyfriend is universally a dick to the protagonist's family members/friends who in any other story would be terrible abusive faithless monsters - but somehow MXTX cannot write them as anything else than decent, upright, complicated and dedicated people who only leave the protagonist's side when faced with insurmountable odds, and yet still try to support them.

Dunno, it's like we're trapped in the genre and can't get out :0

@chaosfantasmic at long last, the fic you asked for is here! (the one about aro/ace Warriors and the Chain supporting him.) And today of all days too XD. I hope you enjoy

Warriors should have seen it coming.

It’s only a logical thread of events, after all, for the others to see him with Artemis, observe their closeness, their surprisingly easy way with each other, their trust in a world that seeks to crush anything resembling such an emotion…and to assume that they are together.

Romantically.

It is the way things work in this world. Most people believe romantic love is the strongest of all loves, the deepest, the most potent, the one that matters more than anything else. They think that to feel it is to heal wounds and make oneself whole.

Yet…they forget that there are other forms of love. They ignore the fact that there are other ways to make oneself whole.

But Warriors has no desire to get worked up about it. Perhaps, the vast majority of people do feel such an emotion toward another. Perhaps, some must feel it to truly connect. Who is he to deny them that?

That doesn’t mean, however, that he needs it. He doesn’t, to be truthful. What he feels toward Artemis is stronger than that, different than that.

He has never yearned to love in the way others speak of. He has never wanted to be touched in the same ways, to walk the same path to the same destination, to be linked to one person in the way his parents were or Time and Malon are.

Years ago, when he was young and naive, that had bothered him. To be set apart is to be lost amongst the crowd…

Or to be noticed for all of the wrong reasons.

(That, at least, had prepared him for being a hero.)

And though this…difference had been relatively easy to hide, that hadn’t simplified things all that much. It had always managed to slip out anyway, to make itself known.

But he had kept it buried to the best of his ability. Still, he keeps it buried. Still, he has those broken parts tucked neatly away, safely hidden behind a pristine facade and winning grin.

And that is not so bad. It’s simply what one does, isn’t it? Only those you trust completely are allowed full entrance to your heart.

He can count those people on the fingers of one hand. And only one of them stands amongst the group of heroes he sits with now.

Time has not said a word about it since they reunited. And that is something Warriors takes comfort in. The Hero of Time possesses secrets in droves. He knows how to keep them. He knows how to earn someone’s trust and hold it close, lock it away so that none can shatter it.

Even the rambunctious boy he parted with only recently had held that quality. Warriors is thankful for it.

It cannot, however, save him from the prying questions of the others. It cannot shield him when, one rainy night, as the group huddles beneath a cave in Wild’s Hyrule, Wind leans in and teasingly asks if Warriors is in love with his Zelda.

It’s not as though the boy singled him out specifically. The conversation had been about the heroes and their relationships with the Zelda’s present in their times. But Warriors feels his throat grow tight anyway.

“Come on,” Wild pipes up, a dry chuckle on his lips as his eyes form a quick upward arc. “Of course, they’re in love. Have you seen those two together?”

“Can’t separate ‘em, the two loverbirds,” Twilight teases. His elbow bumps against Warriors’.

Wild laughs. Sky smiles, warmly, and Wind beams. Warriors’ heart clenches.

It would be so easy to play along. Just as he always does. So, so simple to pretend again. Put on the cloak of “normalcy”. But…

Across the fire, Time catches his eye. Though he keeps his face carefully expressionless, Warriors can see the reassurance shining there. He swallows, ducks his head. A chuckle breaks free – an attempt at bringing some levity to the situation.

But…they are his brothers. They already know more about him – hell they’ve already broken down more of his walls – than a good portion of people he has known throughout his life.

They have, he realizes with sudden shock, even come close to making it into the circle of his most trusted.

“I’m – ”

His voice must sound less easy than he thinks it does because Wind’s eyebrows dip. Time’s lips lift just slightly. He plows on.

“What I feel toward Zelda isn’t…it isn’t what you all are thinking it is.”

The words come out in a rush, like a waterfall busting through a collapsing dam. In the wake of it, all eyes are on him.

“What’d you mean?” Wind asks. “You don’t love her?”

Warriors swallows. “Of course, I love her,” he says, cheeks heating as he echoes Wild. “Just not…not like that.”

“Oh, so you’re friends, then,” Hyrule says, the sentence part question, part statement.

“No.” It’s Legend now. He has been uncharacteristically quiet for most of the conversation, but his voice is steady, calm. His violet eyes are sharp, boring into Warriors’ soul. “You’re more than that, aren’t you? More than friends, more than lovers. Somewhere in between. Soulmates without the romance.”

Warriors can only stare at him for a moment. “Yes,” he replies, dumbly. “Exactly.”

Legend smirks. “Takes one to know one, pretty boy. I’ve suspected from the start.”

Another chuckle escapes, this one slightly less choked. Warriors feels a smile start to form across his face.

Of all the ways he expected this to go, finding someone like him is not one of them. But it is wonderful, absolutely wonderful. A breath of fresh air after a lifetime of staleness.

He hadn’t realized how deeply he had yearned for it.

“So…” Wild looks between the veteran and the captain, head cocked like a curious dog. “You’re both not in love with your Zeldas. Romantically. Right?”

“I’m not in love with anyone romantically,” Warriors says, slowly, tasting the words and the sweet relief they leave behind. “I don’t feel that kind of attraction.”

“Um, what about the other kind of attraction?” Hyrule asks, somewhat nervously. Four snickers.

Warriors laughs as Legend rolls his eyes. “No, not that one either.”

“Weird,” Wind breathes, grinning. “But a good weird! A cool weird!”

“Yeah,” Wild agrees. “It’s interesting.” He smiles. “I met a couple in my Hyrule who had something like your more-than-friendship thing going on. But I never really gave it much thought. And I definitely didn’t expect for two of you guys to feel the same way as they did.”

A chorus of voices rumble echo throughout the group in wonder and support. Heads nod in encouragement and understanding.

Twilight sets a hand on Warriors’ shoulder. His expression is kind. “I’m glad you told us, captain. And I apologize if our teasing offended ya.”

“Not at all.”

Warriors smiles at them all and they smile back. No disappointment colors those faces, no condescension or contempt. Only love. Not quite like what he feels for Zelda, but just as strong. Yes, just as strong.

Time catches his eye again and gives a slow nod of approval. Warriors’ smile grows.

He sits back, breathing a sigh of relief, ruffling his fingers playfully through Wind’s hair as the boy snuggles into his scarf. And he listens as the conversation turns gracefully toward other things – weapons and battle stories and strategies – thankful for this moment and the comfort it has brought him. Thankful for those who understand, and those who are willing to listen and accept even when they don’t.

Thankful, most of all, to feel so very loved.

Day 5 (Valentines day!! >_<)

Today was VALENTINES DAYT!!! >>_<< Sonic accepted the letter because Knuckles dared him to. He always does this, it’s kinda funny tho XD

I NEED TO TELL YOU ALL WHAT HAPPENED!!

First, we went on this suspiciously marketable rollercoaster. (🤨) Then, we went to a haunted house, where Sonic HAD TO punch a poor guy in a costume because he thought “Eggman was attacking!!”. And he says that IM the embarrassing one.(ꐦ¬_¬)

After that, Sonic got hungry so we got a chilli dog and I just talked about my pretty dress. I think he likes it. Maybe because it’s blue though. ( lol )

On the way to our next ride, I tried the amusement hammer and broke the machine trying. How are you going to sue me for hitting it with a hammer THATS LITERALLY ITS WHOLE FUNCTION YOU GREEDY PIGS WORKING AT TWINKLE PARK. Then we went on the ferris wheel, the best thing is it got cold so I sit closer to Sonic!! (⸝⸝⸝- ᴗ -⸝⸝⸝ ) Fortunately, it was a crescent moon, so we didn’t have to see the mechanical side of the moon Eggface so GRACIOUSLY repaired it with. (¬､¬)

Then we went to see the fireworks, and they looked so beautiful!!! They were all beautiful and pink and blue!! Words cannot describe the lengths I will go to keep that moment in my memory.

Thank you for following my dumb little posts about my silly adventures and stuff. I’m grateful for all of it. Every time I see that blue little circle in my notifications I feel so happy and blessed, so i would like to say thanks for the constant and continuous support. ^_^

Oh Yh, the new present I got him was a new pair of gloves as his old ones got easily stained by chilli dogs. I can’t have a dirty filthy boyfriend. What kind of girl would want that!! 0_o

⤐ @dmnksrt - One of my irl best friends, you guys can thank her for so much, because she is my number 1 fan and keeps cheering me on. Without her, I wouldn't have written this much. She's a victim of accidentally being converted into a kpop fan, purely because I was also dragged into the fandom. Even though she stans another group and man (Suga), we still ramble to each other for hours easily. Once she gathers the courage to post her own fanfics, you can be sure I'll be there to support her immediately. Her brain is wonderful, just like her, I wouldn't hesitate to commit arson for her sake. Her tag is 'my Darling', no, we aren't dating, in case any of Nat's anons come here asking that.

⤐ @nerenbe - Well well well, if it isn't my menace herself. This lil gremlin is the sole reason I am in this fandom altogether, since she just kept singing 'Star lost' while we were in the Christmas market. I guess this is what I get for dragging her into so many animes and manhwas, haha. She isn't really active here, but know that she loves to murder me with pics and memes of my bias and wrecker. Truly, she lives up to her nickname.

⤐ @shetherocket - The last of my irl best friends, the poor one who isn't in the kpop fandom and has no idea wtf I am saying to her. It's really funny actually, as she just nods as I speak, no clue about anything. But she likes Felix! Loves his softness and sunshine self, so I sometimes spam her with him lmao. I am never going to be sorry for that :D

⤐ @thightswideforhanin - First ever person to loudly admit Bae wrecked her, and hard. I always enjoy her reblogs, she was one of the first ever active members of my blog.

⤐ @michelle4eve - A shy follower of mine who gathered enough courage to speak to me, and would you look at that, we speak more regularly now :) She's very sweet, which is why I just call her my Sunshine.

⤐ @jinnie-ret - Jinnie-ret, Jinnie-ret, the person who started it all. She was the first skz writer who noticed me and decided to raid my blog, quite literally. She recommended my work on her blog and I got a big influx of people, making me breach the 100 followers threshold. I still can't believe she'd followed me back, when I've been her silent follower for months by that point. While we don't speak a lot, as she is busy, I know she's very welcoming and kind (also my brit mum, because she decided to adopt me lmao).

⤐ @kailee08 - Where do I even start, gods. She got to know me through Jinnie-ret, but decided to also basically adopt my introvert, anxious self on the spot (which is why one of her tags is 'my mum'). I love our little talks, no matter how silly they are. And while she (and everyone else) insists I am cute, I'll forever deny it, like the black cat I am. Without her, I don't know if I would still be here. Ah, I could write so much more, but I'll spare you the details, haha.

⤐ @atinyniki - Niki, my precious little pocket pookie who just loves to pester me and also shower me in love, no matter how hard I keep pushing it away (this is the norm for me and my friends). She's absolutely sweet and so strong, I look up to her in that sense. We easily start gushing about ATEEZ or my husky puppies for a good while xD I am so happy she wrote to me, even if she keeps insisting I am cute, falsely.

⤐ @writingforstraykids - Nat, my talented menace! I love her art, oh my god, I cannot wait for her to draw more, even if that is a year later or more. And her soft thoughts? Hell yes! She's the one who usually gets to see my own random thoughts about the boys (hence our collab), because she's my mootie and they get VIP services :) I am forever afraid she's gonna do what my menace does and send me pics of the boys... I would straight up die on the spot.

⤐ @cheesemonky - Leisel! While we don't talk a lot (timezone differences and my depressed, anxious self), she's cute and so supportive. I just know if we would talk more, our chat would be filled with rambles and thoughts about TXT, haha.

⤐ @yangbbokari - Mumu, the chaos child. I know she will delete her blog for a reason, but I still wanted to put her here before that. We didn't get to know each other well yet, but she loves to say random shit and cause mayham xD Very maknae line coded.

⤐ @lilmisssona - Sona, dear Sona, who is so sweet and supportive of me despite barely knowing me, it gives me diabetes. I already love her works, her AUs are very interesting. She also loves my two puppies, and I am only glad to provide her with photos and videos of them.

⤐ @minholing - Jenny, my lil biologist sprout. While she left, I will await her return here. Who knows, maybe by then I'll be able to accept her hugs more easily.

⤐ @kimistorm - We don't really talk, but we occasionally tag each other in some games. Her works are really nice and sweet, I wouldn't be surprised if she is like that too.

⤐ @miuracha - Miu, the legend amongst us. I haven't really gathered the courage to talk to her yet, but I do know she is an absolute sweetheart who only deserves the best. I hope life finally gives her a break, and very soon.

⤐ @silverstarburst - Silver, my star. Our friendship is very fresh, but I just know it will be great, since she tagged me in a Jisung photoset, completely unprompted. That is a sign.

⤐ @galaxycatdrawz - A very active moot of Nat, so I do see him interact with her a lot. We didn't really talk yet, but that might change, especially because of my collab with Nat xD But that all changed when I started memeing Nat, and being the menace he is, he gave me even more meme ideas. Thus, he shall be my official meme partner.

Yes please talk more about That scene; Because there are LAYERS to some of their expressions and Kuai radiating 'please, let me take care of you' energy while Hanzo (at times) looks half-starved for any sort of gentleness (and also possibly Kuai's torso in that shirt XD) is a peak subscorp moment.

Oh thank god

So, for one thing, after Kuai Liang bows and Hanzo is watching him walk away, Hanzo’s facial expression is so complex like, for one thing he looks like he wants to eat Kuai Liang and for another, he looks at him so softly, like he’s realizing that Kuai Liang is not the monster he’s convinced himself that the cryomancer is and he’s at peace and feels safe which is incredible given that the last time they saw each other was in the mkx comics after Hanzo stabbed him and left him to die a slow and painful death.

And then Hanzo’s expression shifts into something more guarded and angry the moment Kuai Liang is able to see him again, like Hanzo is hiding and reminding himself of what they actually are to each other (which I think means that something happened when they were in the netherrealm together, like idk what but their relationship was defo complicated there)

Then, Hanzo tries to start a fight by demanding that Kuai Liang admit the Lin Kuei killed his fam and clan only to be so caught off guard when Kuai Liang actually does, like he was so hostile as he said it (understandably) and he’s just met with genuine remorse and softness that he cannot comprehend

And he’s so guarded as Kuai Liang talks and pours the tea, but he’s also clearly listening the whole time, like he wants to know what’s going on and he wants to understand but he can’t fully let go of the idea that Kuai Liang is his enemy. It’s like he can’t fathom the idea that Kuai Liang wouldn’t want to retaliate against him for the encounter in the comics, like he can only understand the world in the context of violence and vengeance, which Kuai Liang just refuses to engage with now

And Kuai Liang is going Out Of His Way to make this as easy and painless for Hanzo as possible. He knows how much this information is going to hurt and he’s trying to mitigate that and he’s handling Hanzo So Gently, he’s being so deliberately kind

And the thing is, no one would expect that of him. Hanzo did kill Bi-Han unjustly, Kuai Liang can prove that, no one would have blamed the cryomancer for sending Hanzo that information and having that be the end of it, or even just trying to kill Hanzo immediately. He would have been fully within his rights to do so, but he chooses not to bc he Knows what this is like, to be manipulated into killing someone by the cause of your misery (he did grow up in the Lin Kuei after all

If Frost hadn’t intervened, I do wonder what that interaction would have looked like, and I think it would have ended up changing their relationship a fair bit (in that they would have taken a Lot longer to trust each other)

But Frost did, and the moment that she did, Hanzo just clung to that bc it meant Kuai Liang was seeking revenge and that’s something he could understand, something that was comfortable with

And then Kuai Liang freezes Frost to defend Hanzo and you can see in Hanzo’s expression as Kuai Liang keeps talking it’s just pure confusion, he cannot fathom how this has played out but he Wants to, like he’s so tempted by the softness he’s being offered even if he can’t put a name to it, he wants to let himself have it

And then Hanzo learns the truth and he’s Immediately wracked with guilt for what he’s done and he’s probs expecting to be met with some demand for penance but all Kuai Liang gives him is understanding and the promise of support in his pursuit of vengeance (why else offer an alliance in that exact moment that Hanzo decides that Quan Chi must pay?)

Hanzo and Kuai Liang are alike in that they are unused to gentleness and softness but Hanzo did know it once and Kuai Liang can’t remember ever experiencing it. And yet, Kuai Liang is relentless in offering it to Hanzo who can’t figure out how to accept it

I wish we got to see more of their early alliance days bc there’s so much potential there

I have 86 fics! I write all kinds of things! Case fics, angst, fluff, smut, and all that jazz. I like to think that I have a diverse range of stuff on AO3, which I find I'm really proud of :3

613,383....Yes, I write too much.

❣️What fandoms do you write for?

Most of my fics are Ace Attorney, but I have other fandoms like Stardew Valley! I also write in fandoms that are gifts for friends.

Definitely Things Left Unsaid, that fic is SUPER angsty with a really sad ending. It's non canon Major Character Death, so of course it's angsty lol.

❣️What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I'm...not sure? A lot of my fics end in happy endings. But if I had to pick the happy ending that made me the most emotional, I'd have to choose Blossoming in the Rain.

❣️Do you get hate on your fic?

Surprisingly, no. I've only gotten support for my fics. Which I am VERY much thankful for. To all of my followers, readers, and supporters...thank you SO much for making my fandom experience so lovely <3

❣️Do you write smut?

Definitely lol. I used to be terrified of writing smut...and then I met a certain someone *cough cough* @mikaharuka *cough cough* and now I've written a lot of smut. This is all YOUR FAULT BESTIE.

❣️Do you write crossovers?

Nope lol. I like to keep my fandoms separate.

❣️Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I...don't think so? But if someone has stolen my fics, please be sure to tell me! I'm not exactly keen on the idea of my fics being plagiarized or stolen.

❣️Have you ever had a fic translated?

Again, I have no idea. I don't think it has since nobody has approached me before, so to my knowledge it's a no.

❣️Have you ever co-written a fic?

Yes!!! I've co written SO many things with my bestiest of besties @tsunderesalty and I love every fic I've co written with him. He's just the greatest and he's an amazing writer. Check him out!

❣️What's your all-time favorite ship?

Hmm! For Ace Attorney, it's a tough choice between Klapollo and Franmaya. For Stardew, my top ship is my farmer and Sebastian (Sebakonnie)

My flufftober series. I started it in 2022...and it's currently 2024. I just kinda lost steam for that fic. I am very proud of all the fics I've written for it, though. Maybe I should revisit it...

Ahem, knowing how my dearest besties would respond to that...I guess my flexibility with writing styles? I talked about this with my friends before, but I have multiple writing styles, five to be specific. I can switch between them pretty easily, and I like to think they're all distinct from each other but still being undeniably me. God, I really don't wanna sound like I'm bragging XD.

❣️What are your writing weaknesses?

NOT KNOWING WHEN TO SHUT THE FUCK UP. I literally cannot shut up for the life of me. It is a curse. My fics would be SO much shorter if I just shut up lol.

❣️Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Oh!!! Actually, so about this! For reference, I'm Filipino, born and raised in the Philippines. I can speak Filipino and Tagalog pretty well, and I can understand Bisaya (Cebuano is its official name, but everyone in the Philippines calls it Bisaya) well, but I can speak it only a little bit. Anyway, I've always wanted to incorporate Filipino and Bisaya into my fics but didn't know how...and then I thought of Filipino Phoenix! Happy to say that I'm planning on writing that soon :3

So yeah, happy to include languages other than English! Especially my native language. Otherwise, for languages I don't know. I use Deepl, it's a very useful tool!

I'm all for using different languages in my fics, and when I get something wrong, I'm quick to correct it!

It's just sad that there aren't many people who know their endeavors after Kalafina. Even a part of Madoka Magica fandom guessed Wakana is just missing since she didn't (and couldn't) join Kajiura's recent tour, unlike Hikaru.

You are absolutely right. Most fans have no idea what's going on these days. I am continuously surprised by how utterly uninvolved so many of them are, even the ones who claim to be longtime dedicated fans. Every time I get a question about Wakana's situation I cannot help but wonder if that person has been living under a rock for the past five years...But yeah, I guess not everyone is as invested as little old me XD

And yes, it is a shame that only few fans are interested in their solo work. To some extent it's understandable of course. We like what we like and their solo stuff is considerably different to what we are used to from Yuki Kajiura and Kalafina but nonetheless, I feel an inherent desire to support them. I will openly admit that I am not as passionate about most of their solo releases but I still enjoy enough of it to keep me invested, at least for the time being. Sometimes I will have these phases where I think that I am slowly falling out of love with them but my most recent live experiences have once again shown me that I am still 100% smitten with my girls. Their performances continue to blow me away. They have my heart💗

Well, Ezio would definitely have a hard time doing anything else because he’s just become a biblical-accurate angel in one of the most religious parts of the world during his time. Like, if this was set during AC2, Ezio would probably run to Monteriggioni to escape all the worshipping and falling into the ground to pray and stuff, unintentionally turning Monteriggioni into a religious location.

A… holy land.

If this is the middle of AC2, Rodrigo Borgia wouldn’t be pope yet so his power will be limited and it’s really, really going to be easy for all of this to go out of hand and, honestly, Mario Auditore doesn’t strike me as the religious type but he’d definitely try to spin this entire thing to their advantage while worrying on how to get his nephew back to human form in closed doors.

Honestly, Ratonhnhaké:ton wouldn’t think of himself as an angel. He would believe that he had been touched by the spirits or something similar so he may protect his village. Redcoats would definitely see him and think that the end times have come. They have been judged and proclaimed as sinners. This would actually be the most dangerous setup because Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn’t necessarily have a good support system in place. Achilles is an old jaded man who can’t easily come to his aid. All of his white allies have their own desires and they wouldn’t mind using Ratonhnhaké:ton to achieve their goals. Then… the siege of Yorktown becomes the battleground of two heavenly beings as Haytham stands in front of Charles Lee… and turns into an angel as well.

Edward:

You know what would be funny… if Edward turned into an angel during the webtoon part. Like, just think of Noa’s “what? WHAT??? WHAT?????” reaction to watching as Edward suddenly becomes an angel and he gets desynced there and then because “holy shit, what???” and everyone in the room are just like “???????”.

In the Gray:

“Reader… Reader… you have to stop this.”

“I can’t… I’m connecting to Desmond Miles’ ancestors and this automatically happens. I cannot stop the connection.”

Update on my anti-Byler bestie

Here's the post if you missed it.

First of all, thank you to everyone who shared their favourite Byler evidence, it made me very happy and it was funny sharing it with my friend.

Now, unfortunately my friend cannot be convinced. I'm autistic and have trouble understanding people's intentions and feelings, so I can't tell if he's being fully serious, half serious, or completely unserious, but to me it seems most like half serious. He's strongly in denial and won't really give me a reason as to why, he just says, "No, not happening."

So there's no getting to him, he believes without a doubt that Byler isn't happening (and said he'll start a riot if it does happen, but Idk if he was serious). And he says he's going to find evidence, but his only proof so far has been, "Nooooo." XD

So I've been dealing with that. It's kind of frustrating because I feel like he's not really listening to anything I'm saying, he just denies everything. And I understand sort of because he actually bet me $50 Byler won't happen in season 5 (I didn't bet anything, he just gets to keep the money if he's right). So he doesn't want to admit defeat to that, which is fair, but it was a stupid bet to make in the first place since he didn't have all the information (the proof for Byler).

Additionally, at lunch today we were talking to a girl who's also in our anxiety support class, and I was talking about Byler stuff (Mike's official playlist songs, the way he looks at Will, their flirty scenes in season 4, Mike using the "we're friends" trope, etc.). She agreed with my friend that Byler isn't a thing and said Mike is so straight.

I can argue with them as much as I want but it gets really frustrating and even kind of annoying that they just don't understand all the evidence. I'm just venting here, so absolutely no hate towards people who don't believe Byler is canon, but as someone who cares so deeply about it, it can make me kind of emotional trying to argue that I'm not delusional.

In the end we agreed to disagree, which is fine and valid and I respect that. But with my friend, it's kind of a big deal, because to me Byler is a big deal. I admit I'm obsessed, Byler has been my biggest special interest since I watched season 4 and found out it was a thing. I can't really help it, I'm just so passionate about it and it gets stuck in my mind. You could say I'm hopelessly devoted to Byler, one of my friends online has even said they think it's unhealthy, but how can something that brings me so much joy be wrong?

Ok this has devolved significantly, but what I'm trying to say in this whole rant/vent thing is that yes, I'm very invested in the relationship between fictional characters, because it's important to me. Representation matters, and even though I'm not a gay man, I still love seeing other groups be represented, especially in a show this popular, with a story this deep. The beauty of Byler's story transcends everything.

So it's frustrating trying to argue for something I care so much about. Byler makes me happy, it motivates me, it inspires me. I'm not going to apologize for loving the things I love and being passionate about my interests. Of course I try to be open minded, respect different opinions, and listen to other points of view. If my friend actually had evidence against Byler, I would listen and respond as constructively and respectfully as I can.

Basically, shipping Byler is valid, and not shipping or even being anti-Byler is valid (unless it's just for homophobic reasons, homophobia is not valid). But I love Byler and it does kind of hurt to have something I care about be adamantly denied and torn apart. And you know, as I'm writing this I'm actually empathizing with Milevens. This doesn't just go for Byler, it goes for all ships (as long as they're not messed up obviously), people should be able to enjoy what they enjoy without others trying to tell them why they're wrong.

There's nothing wrong with analyzing Mileven, talking about why it's unhealthy or not going to be endgame, etc. But that should stay in the proper places, we don't need to constantly remind Milevens that they're ship isn't going to end up together. Just let them be happy, and I'd expect them to do the same for us.

Idk how this turned into talking about Milevens and respecting different ships, but it did somehow. Anyway, back to the point, my friend may be wrong about what will happen in season 5, but his beliefs on it are still valid. I just wish we could talk about it in a way that doesn't make me feel bad about shipping Byler and believing it's endgame. Does that make sense?

This isn't that serious or anything, and take everything I said here as just a random vent/rant, I'm just getting out all my thoughts and feelings, because I need to after all the arguing with people today.

If Byler doesn't happen, I'll be sad, but I know I won't be alone because I have my fellow Bylers, my Byler family and community here. We can all be sad together, and support each other. When I feel bad about something, I like to remember this quote:

That's how I feel about Byler not being endgame.

But on a lighter note, I'm pretty sure Byler will end up together, it just makes sense. So yeah, feel free to share any of your thoughts and feelings about this, I'd love to hear them. :)

I just needed to share some Byler positivity at the end because I'm tired of being surrounded by Byler negativity in my class.

The Dornish War AU

So... @arraxapologist gave me an excuse to ramble and @idontevenknowhowtolife said I can have a chapter update if I write this up.

I may not get around to actually writing this AU, but I have a lot planned. The Polycule of Power would probably feature to some degree or another if I did it properly, but my notes are all on the canon ships (at least for the older gen, Aegon ends that trend real quick).

It would start, as so many good AUs do, with someone trying to kill Viserys. ^^'

At Rhaenyra and Laenor's wedding tourney, the festivities get interrupted by an attempted assassination of the king. So yay! Joffrey lives! ...for now. Bing, bang, boom, rushed nuptials done, we move to the war bit.

They track the attempt back to Dorne, which is a bit salty about the Stepstones even though they were not * directly* involved in the conflict. Various threats are levied. Political drama. Etc!

War declared!

Now, Lyonel Strong is Hand at this point and Otto is off in Oldtown advising his nephew who just became Lord Hightower. That may relate directly to the breakdown in diplomatic relations... 😏

Essentially, Otto is in charge of the Hightower forces at this point. He and his older sons are literally the ones on the front lines in that region. He and Boremund Baratheon, who is still alive at this point, are coordinating all the ground forces. Borros gets to live his best life smashing heads a la his descendent Robert.

Meanwhile, Corlys is using his foothold in the Stepstones to establish a blockade of Dorne. A rather major escalation that pisses the Martells off Whether they were involved in the assassination is very much up in the air, but they're gonna act like they're innocent regardless cause they're not idiots.

Rhaenyra is playing her best Visenya and arguing that they either need to conquer Dorne once and for all, or let the matter go. Alicent is lowkey telling Viserys the same thing, but with more emotion cause she just found out she's pregnant again (Yay Aemond!). She and Rhaenyra are in a very rocky truce situation here. Very stand-offish, but accidentally united.

The accidentally is very important because while Alicent is fretting about her children being in danger, Rhaenyra is leveraging the fact that her father has other heirs now to convince him to send her and Laenor to the front.

"I'm to be their queen. Their protector. If I cannot protect my own family, I don't deserve the crown."

Somewhere, Daemon's spidey sense is going off the moment Laenor hands Rhaenyra a sword. Viserys sees her training with her husband and agrees, giving her final say over all troop movements on the front lines. Rhaenys goes to Storm's End. Daemon to Oldtown. Laenor to Hightower. The idea is that Rhaenyra would go back and forth between the three, checking in with ground forces and coordinating with the Lords of each.

Are any of them actually in those castles? Eh. Sometimes. The dragonriders are supporting the armies, scouting far and wide, burning the border, etc. Rhaenyra probably spends as much time coordinating with Ormund Hightower as she does keeping Otto and Daemon from killing each other.

This is the era in which Otto realizes Rhaenyra could actually be a fantastic queen. With some help... of course. He's still Otto after all. XD

During one of the battles (probably the future location of Summerhall, because I can), Joffrey is killed. Rhaenyra spends the night comforting Laenor. Things happen... and now she's flying back and forth across the frontlines while pregnant.

Alicent goes into labor when she hears about that... cause Aemond is born early in every universe.

The war continues. Rhaenyra burns the fuck out of Yronwood before she ends up giving birth in one of the camps. Syrax's roars are terrifying both sides. Especially because they are joined by another dragon...

😎 Laena and Vhagar were not about to sit out a chance to conquer Dorne okay? She was flying with the Velaryon fleet mostly, very effective deterent Vhagar. With Rhaenyra giving birth, she flies across the Sea of Dorne to lend her support.

Yronwood is having an exceptionally bad few days there. Something, something, Laena and Daemon hit it off while waring and whoring. She drops some hints about her betrothal... Daemon dones his murder hoodie. Sealord's son is out of the picture. Rhaenys and Laenor have a shovel talk with Daemon while Rhaenyra presents Lord Corlys with his first grandson.

Lord Boremund totally cackles about the boy looking more like Jocelyn and Rhaenys than Laenor or Corlys. Otto says something about Jacaerys looking more like his mother.

"The Arryns will surely be overjoyed to see their blood so prominent in the young prince's features."

The Dornish are wiley though. (I love this about them) They're not making this war easy, even with the dragons. After all, the OG Conquerors had dragons too, and they couldn't make the Dornish submit. The commanders fight more without Rhaenyra there to keep them united (*cough* Daemon and Otto *cough*) so she has to leave Jacaerys with Alicent (who is now pregnant again... Rhaenyra is definitely side eyeing her father on that one).

If the Dornish thought Rhaenyra was bad before... she's got a very adorable baby she wants to get back to now. It's full court press. The dragons are relentless. Vhagar is having the time of her life.

Eventually, an offer comes from the Prince of Dorne to have his eldest daughter marry Jacaerys as a means to end the war. Given the girl is the man's heir and Jacaerys is hers... Rhaenyra is not so keen to have the girl lose out on her inheritance. She negotiates for Aegon instead, with the girl being fostered in King's Landing until their wedding.

The night the peace treaty is signed, Lucerys is conceived. He'll end up betrothed to a granddaughter of the Lord of Yronwood before his first birthday, to cement the treaty. (Aegon and Luke are the Daenaerys and Daeron II in this AU... for reasons).

Rhaenyra returns to King's Landing and conspires with Alicent for Jace and Helaena to be betrothed eventually. Daeron still fosters as Oldtown, but he ends up betrothed to a Manderly girl. When Joffrey comes along (the result of a night Laenor blames on Qarl and Rhaenyra blames Harwin for) he goes to the Vale, because Lady Arryn needs an heir... and he is Aemma's grandson...

Something, something Baela and Aemond are utter terrors together. No one is shocked when they run off to Essos together. Except Daemon... Daemon is surprised. Daemon is not happy. Corlys and Otto are laughing at him together over a bottle of Velaryon whiskey in High Tide.

That leads to Rhaena marrying Lyonel.

The Starks have 100% noticed that the Targaryens are marrying into the most influential families and are keeping their heads down cause Cregan is a young lord. His uncle would like to remain his regent. Jace and Cregan will join their houses later though so its fine.

On the other hand... the Lannisters are frothing at the mouth about being left out. Well... Rhaenyra is still salty about *someone* implying Aegon should be heir. So when she finally has a daughter, right before her coronation at that, she ain't looking at Casterly Rock.

Her Visenya obviously deserves to be forever doted upon and surrounded by beauty, so she ends up the next Lady of Highgarden.

I've gotten distracted from the plot here a bit... but whatever. The Dance is avoided. Rhaenyra ends up queen and Aegon is living his best life getting drunk off Dornish wine with his Dornish wife. Sunfyre blends in perfectly with the desert sand when he naps in the summer.

All is well.

Jaehaera is Jacaerys' heir, because I said so.

Gaming Thoughts - October 2023 - Xenoblade Chronicles X

Ever since the announcement of the Wii-U's internet being discontinued, I had found myself going back to this game after so many years. Also, knowing me as a small disclaimer, you may be seeing this game a bit from me as well. XD

I had actually picked up XCX back at Launch and played it quite a bit, but because things got busy and also there was a point that I was stuck in the game, I had put it down for a period of time and said that I would come back to working on it later when things calmed down a bit. Well...now became that later so I may be a little scrambling to get things in it somewhat gone through. At least get some of the online-only content in there at the least before it is no longer accessible. (I know that Pretendo could be an option in the future, but I'm not 100% confident on if they will be able to get XCX up and running through their service since looking at their roadmap it isn't quite a priority yet and also I just have great skepticism on fan projects of this large of a scale ever getting finished as well, so it is more or less a 'I'll believe it when I see it deal')

Though coming back to this game now, I've been enjoying it a LOT more now that I'm finally able to understand certain mechanics. The game does jack-shit to explain how some mechanics with the battle system works (ESPECIALLY Overdrive most of all) and the digital manual is like a pain for me to even go through as well (and why I miss physical manuals in games, dammit) either way, after a bit of research and such I've been finding myself highly enjoying it more and more now at this point. It already was my favourite game as it was even with how difficult it was being before, but now only just cemented it even further.

Just as a note for anyone that may want to try to get into the game, DON'T ever approach it the same way you do with normal JRPGs, if you do and just try to go at it entirely for the main story and only hit the side missions here and there, you will find yourself disappointed since the main story itself doesn't present a lot of development for the other characters as it was with the exception of one. You get more of your development of the characters and even of the world itself through the affinity missions and the side missions most of all. Even most of the sidequests have a lot of their own little storyline to them as well too that helps expand more on the world and everything.

I actually wish this game will get at the very least a port to the modern consoles, though. Or even at least Nintendo's next console since because it was on the Wii-U it hardly got a lot of attention as it was and not a lot of people would have played it, but more of all, I would actually also would love to see there be a sequel as well considering there are so many things that are still unanswered as well that I would love to find some resolution to.

Anyways, when I played this game, I made my primary OC, Conrad, being my custom character as well. So I tried to draw him with at least the equipment that I have currently in-game. Out of the weapon types that there are, because of some of the prior things that I have done with him, I felt that out of the weapon options in the game, the Sniper Rifle was still the best one that did fit him as well and I'm still keeping that as being the main weapon that I'm basing my build around. (You have a LOT of options of how to make your build and a few different weapon options to use. You have to have one ranged and one melee weapon in your setup, but with how the game is designed, you really cannot balance your build between the two and it becomes more of one being your main damage dealer and the other being essentially there for support because of the arts that are available to it.)

Either way, odds are likely I'll be playing this game quite a bit either until I get a lot of things finished up finally or after the end of April, whichever comes first so if I end up needing to cover this game again because of this, I'll try to at least make it more on that month's summary as opposed to the game as a whole. XD

(All in all, I don't think I will ever see this being dethroned as one of my top favourite games anytime soon)

Since you know Japanese and like Danganronpa I was wondering, what is your interpretation of this dialogue from Nagito?

It's very complicated and difficult to translate from what I've heard. It's hard to tell if it's a love confession or something else.

Basically I was wondering...

1: What is your interpretation of the line? Do you think it is intended to be romantic or not?

2: What is the general interpretation of the like in the Japanese fanbase?

3: How would you translate the line?

In the English fanbase people either say it is a romantic love confession or say that he's only talking about hope. I'm really curious to hear another perspective on the tricky line of dialogue, especially since I don't know Japanese myself and cannot read it.

Just in case you're curious here is the English translated version of the line as well. There's a lot of discussion on what he means by it and how it's a mistranslation so it's a very confusing topic overall.

Okay, your question about the last line of Nagito’s free time events! It's a fun question to answer XD

1: Basically, I don't get the impression that this line is a confession of love. It doesn't sound that romantic.

2: Hmmm, I also wonder what other Japanese fans think about this line. It might not be talked about much. I don't see many cases where this line is quoted in komahina fanfics. (I don't know how it is in other languages, but at least in Japanese komahina fanfic, I often see people writing stories that take lines from the original story and expand on them. But I don't see any case where this line is used for such a story).

3: “Please don't forget…” “I love y... your hope that sleeps in you from the bottom of my heart.”

Haha, this translation really sounds like a confession of love 😅

In my opinion, it is a bit strange to discuss this in terms of whether it is a confession of love or not. I think what Nagito is hoping for from Hajime here is trust. This line comes after the fact that Nagito lied, so Hajime is in such a confused state that he does not know where Nagito is really coming from. I think Nagito is asking Hajime to believe that he loves Hajime’s hope. I see it as a declaration that I am not an enemy, or that I do not intend to be an enemy to you.

This may be my extended interpretation, but I actually sense an apologetic nuance in this line. Nagito himself is well aware that his arguments and thoughts are not well communicated to those around him, including Hajime. He's happy that Hajime talks to him patiently, but he doesn't know how to keep the connection with him, so he tries to say lines that will win Hajime's sympathy. In fact, Hajime almost feels sorry for Nagito, but Nagito knows that this is not the fundamental solution, so he reveals that he is making it up. Hajime gets even more confused when Nagito asks him if he's starting to feel like killing him, but I have the feeling that Nagito is making an excuse that he doesn't just want to confuse Hajime.

Nagito uses the expression "I love your hope”, but it sounds more like a declaration that he believes that Hajime's hope can lead to a good future. Or it can be taken as support for Hajime's hope.

As for the translation in the English version... I think it is good in that it does not mislead people into thinking that Nagito is not confessing his love for Hajime. But I might be a little doubtful if the expression "I'm truly in love with the hope” is a good one.

I think the original line is more like a fan telling a celebrity or someone they admire that they love them. It's like replacing the "I love your art!" comment on Tumblr with "I love your hope!" 😄 But when you say "I'm in love with", it doesn't sound like you're throwing words at the other person, so I think it might be taken to mean something else.

This is just my personal opinion, but I hope it helps! 🌟

Ryu that office worker Lilia art got me feeling like I'm at work cause as someone who works in an office herself with coworkers who are decades older than her (I'm in my 20s) I cannot express how extremely common the scaring prank is between my coworkers, at least once a week I'm hearing someone yell "BOO!" and hearing in response either a scream or complete silence followed by laughter.

Based off of real events, you got me thinking about Lilia leaving some kind of noise machine underneath other's desks playing fart sounds when the office reaches rare moments of quiet in the day. That fart machine will circulate around the office for a few days.

Lilia ABSOLUTELY leaves all kinds of noise machines and whoopee cushions around, you can also never shake hands with him because he has that ring that shocks you, all kinds of classic pranks he’ll absolutely do. And as time goes, they’ll get more and more elaborate.

And if Lilia gets closer to Idia in any way shape of form, it’s over for everyone, because if they join forces… With Idia’s genius mind and skills, he could enhance that noise machine in a way that’ll make the whole office shudder…

Psychotic unhinged creature is such a good way to describe this particular version of Lilia, and I feel like this song could fit perfectly into his personal mixtape! Along with a bunch of death metal songs, so the sound is going to be quite contrasting lol

Do you have any designs for Ace's brother? I've always thought of his brother as Jack Hearts from Disney recruiters if you don't, but I've slapped so much angst onto those boys it's hard to imagine they wouldn't want to "support" each other whenever Ace comes home for the holidays.

Well… it’s kind of awkward, because our view of Ace’s brother is closer to Eddy’s brother from Ed Edd n Eddy lol Ace used to think that his older brother is cool and maybe even idolised him a little when he was a kid, but then got disillusioned and annoyed as he grew older. They bicker a lot because they’re siblings + both of them are kind of mean and quick to throw each other under the bus. His brother isn’t necessarily malicious (although scenarios in which he is a complete jerk could be super fun too), but they often have heated arguments + there is this sense of “I’m older, therefore I win” between them.

Sooo… while this design isn’t something that we’re 100% sure about (if I ever draw him again, he might look COMPLETELY different, so keep that in mind lol), but the overall vibe is kind of like this. A jerk that kind of looks like a slightly older Ace.

That being said, Ace’s brother being supportive of Ace and overcoming complicated stuff is a sweet idea, Anon! I really wonder what their actual relationships are like…

I’m so disappointed none of you asked for my opinion of Ruby or James for that ask game so I’m gonna do it anyways in one post because I have feelings XD.

Okay this probably wouldn’t necessarily work for that character opinion ask game but it’s been on my mind for a bit.

The thematic potential parallels for both James and Ruby where so painfully wasted I feel deceived for nothing coming of it. If you’re wondering what I mean I’m referring to back in volume 3, when RW//BY and friends where all scared, confused, and panicked during the fall of Beacon and looked to James for guidance on what to do and how in volume 2 James reassured Ruby she did the right thing in going after Cinder.

Imagine a switch so to speak of James breaking under the stress of it all and trauma making him freeze and it’s RW//BY who maintains a clear and calm head and gives him hope and reassurance and gives him the strength to keep fighting. It would be a chance to show how much RW//BY has grown and matured through their experiences and would show how RW//BY are destined to be the ones to unite the world.

The setup was right their. We’d seen Ruby herself offer some support near the end of volume 7 and helping reassure James. We got a glimpse of this potential and all it could have been within the show itself. Just imagine as everyone is working to get Amity finished and protect Mantel, Ruby looks up at Atlas and sees how bad the Grimm invasion is vs Mantel and says that she they can’t give up on him and she flies off to Atlas with the others calling out to her asking her not to but she doesn’t listen because she refuses to lose anyone again. Not after Beacon.

And Ruby finds James in the command center trying to coordinate everything and he’s barely holding it together and James is angry when he sees her demands to know why she’s here, that he could and should have her arrested right now but she says that he’s a friend and she couldn’t just leave things as they where. Ruby tells him she understands why he’s scared and why he wanted to escape and that she’s scared to but she couldn’t lose anyone like at Beacon.

Obviously it doesn’t have to go quiet like that but just….something we could even have things not go so south in the office scene. Maybe a moment where James break’s completely and says he doesn’t know what to do, that Salem just keeps getting stronger and stronger and he never has enough and RW//BY assures him that he’s not doing this alone, that they can help but they also cannot leave anyone behind, that they have to try and help save everyone.

They had so many options and it could have been so good but instead CRWBY went the ableist “let’s make the disabled guy the mega villain who is super duper evil and must be stopped and is irredeemable”. Why does every good writing opportunity get fumbled so hard?
