As prev said RT is shutting down because as multiple people in the company has said they haven't been profitable in years and they have had many controversies involving workplace abuse.

But at the same time WB also sucks. Two things can be true at once.

This is a friendly reminder that RWBY Beyond is extended universe and not part of the main series and so the writers' choice to put important things - like Yang and Ruby addressing what happened in V9 - is quite a bold move. Like, I'm still expecting everything that happened in V9 to NOT get glossed over in V10, because I don't want to have to do homework and get subscriptions and watch YouTube videos in order for the main show to be even sort of close to good.

And before anyone comes in talking about 'they have no time anymore' and 'they need to use V10 to tie off all these important threads' etcetera, they made their own bed. Like maybe RWBY Beyond wouldn’t have to include conversations that should be in the main show if the writers hadn't wasted their time on things like Jaune angst 2.0 or Little/Somewhat or getting their stuff back from a raccoon or unnecessary exposition on where the gods came from. The writers have NEVER been good at managing their time, and it results in things like them trying to do damage control in the silly extended content shorts because they forgot to write Yang to be a caring sister in the main show.

And then fans turn around and are like 'I can't believe that people are complaining that Yang comes across as a bad sister in the main show, didn't they see how she cringed when Ruby was in danger in the second Batman crossover side movie? Didn't they see the follow-up short to Sun and Neptune's mustache adventures?"

Say it with me; the main show ought to be able to stand on its own as a good piece of media without expecting fans to do homework.

@densharr that’s my bad I mixed up who said what lolz but in the short three minute video discussing it they talk about how their had been discussions already with companies about finding volume 10 before the shutdown was announced that’s what I was referring to.

Seeing the “news” about RW/BY “finding a new home” raises so many questions because they revealed that their have been talks of other companies giving funding for volume 10 to be made which raises for me a lot of questions as to why any company would fund another companies IP. Are they hoping for exclusive streaming for volume 10? Why would it be worth it if Arryn keeps saying RW/BY has never even been profitable? Why would any company buy off an IP and keep the same people who made it unprofitable? Why buy an IP with only one season left without planning a reboot to justify it? This all just makes no sense to me.

What’s funny is I know for the volume 8 Ozcars James WAS listed as a main character due to the sheer number of lines he had while Blake was listed as a Side Character due to how FEW lines she had and idk what that says exactly but it sure says something.

It's funny (read obnoxiously frustrating) that RW/BY stans accuse me of wanting a "white man" to be the lead character because I criticize the writing of James, only for those same fans to turn around and start frothing at the mouth when we criticize Jaune getting a focus episode in Beyond insisiting he is a "main" character as well and deserves development and how he doesn't take away screen time from the mains. The hypocrisy is just insane and frustrating and I cannot fathom how they refuse to see just how hypocritical they are being.

It sucks that it’s so hard to find spaces to have a nice middle ground on this stuff. People worship this show and attack anyone who dares to point out anything even slightly wrong with it. No show is perfect and RWBY shockingly is no exception to that even if James’s volume 8 arc didn’t happen.

Their is a lot about the show I enjoy, I write fanfiction for the show but fans thing I only hate watched it and only want to attack the poor uwu sad writers who did nothing wrong instead of wanting to have a conversation about disability representation in media and why RWBY’s is harmful.

The fact that I got called "unreasonable" for thinking that Ironwood was handled poorly and that V8 ruined his character is just...what the fuck is wrong with this fandom? I swear, half of it doesn't understand media literacy anymore.

I did notice that they didn't say no when I said that the writers calling Ironwood losing his other arm as a symbol of him losing his humanity was disgusting, though.

But goddamn, is it so bad that I want to have discussions about RWBY that aren't kissing the writers' asses? I don't even know where I can go to have nuanced discussions about the show anymore. Reddit is a cesspool, and I'm too afraid to check out any Discord servers. I thought the RG server was a place I could express my thoughts, but I was wrong.

The thing is, I like RWBY. I may not like a lot of the writing decisions, but I don't despise it. If anything, I'm disappointed. RWBY is average at best, but it genuinely could have been something amazing. I just want to find a place that doesn't worship the ground the writers walk in, but also acknowledges that there are some good things in the show too. Is that too much to ask?

It also raises the awkward question of did Salem get Beacons relic? Does she somehow not have it still? I have so many questions.

I'm still pissed that Vale was off-screen'd by Salem.

Of all locations, I was really hoping Vale would be their full circle for a finale. But it just got destroyed. Salem flew over to the first city everybody knew first and slam-dunked it into oblivion, now she's either on her way to Vacuo or she's going to dick around until the heroes return.

I don't understand how Salem didn't bulldoze kingdoms in the first place. This makes it seem as if Team RWBY were holding her back, which isn't true... Salem is just lazy and sits around until the heroes slip up or kill each other, then she steps in and collects what she needs. Well, not sure if that's lazy or working smarter.

Also that Grimm roar was so bad it sounded like a toilet flushing.

Well that’s honestly a relief to see. I tried checking earlier but discovered I was blocked so I couldn’t really check. Hopefully he got paid fairly for said freelance work.

So apparently Neath Oum responded on twitter to pestering about how Chicken Dentures' collapse affects him. Good news: not in any 'I was directly depending on this shit company' sense-his actual employment is totally unconnected. Less good but unsurprising news: his Ren-voicing was unpaid.
