Ok, so let's talk about "misandry."

(Heads up that I use terrible US foreign policy as an example of underlying gender ideology, Death to America of course)

1) if we're working within a social justice, privilege-oppression type framework, there is no systemic oppression of men as men, or trans men as trans men (beyond transphobia). Within these privilege oppression frameworks treating misandry or transandrophobia as a real thing is gonna have disastrous consequences.

2) But we need to be abandoning the identity politics social justice orthodoxy as fast as we can. Occupying a position of privilege within the discourse is dehumanizing and hellish, it has a terrible track record with transmisogyny (not a coincidence), and trying to map gendered power just by looking at identity groups means you miss a ton of what's happening within the groups, and in less straight forward ways.

3) a huge part of the gender binary is between camab ppl as (instrumental) subjects and cafab ppl as (responsive, feeling) objects. And this is fucked all around.

To pick one of the more egregious examples, US military directives make heavy use of the category of "military aged males." People outside this category are (theoretically) assumed to be non combatants while "military aged males" in ~warzones~ are basically valid targets by default. https://tinyurl.com/4skt53tx

We could explain this as a symptom of misogyny. That women should also be recognized as being capable of enacting violence and treated equally. This is the most straight forward application of orthodox gender theory and likely the worst.

Or we could say that there's something about the intersection of being Arab/Muslim/young/read as male that leads to a unique oppression.

But it's not like it's just this intersection. If we look at prison populations, or who gets hit by police violence, or weaponized accusations of Sexual Assault the logic is actually fairly consistent here, if a little messy to talk about.

Ppl seen as men are seen as capable of wielding power and this leads to benefits if they're seen as basically good. If they're seen as crazy, dangerous, evil, hostile, or at risk of being any of these, being seen as capable of violence makes shit way worse. Lots of intersections push you further towards being viewed as a threat.

(A pretty good bite sized model of transmisogyny is that it misgenders us as men + we get negative respect since we rejected masculinity + it frames us as crazy/dangerous).

Ppl seen as women are going to be seen as less competent, in need of guidance, control and protection by default. But it comes with certain (conditional) protections. Violence against women certainly happens, but the fact that it's a special protected category says a lot. (There's a lot to say about how much these protections are worth, who they really apply to and when they disappear and what happens then, but it's very clear that they exist and that they mean something).

4) so am I arguing for the existence of misandry? Absolutely not*. Gender is just a fucked up system of division and control all around. Privilege frameworks suggest that women are going to experience the same shit as men they share identities with + misogyny + possible extra intersectional oppression. And while this approach is sometimes helpful, I think a better default framework is that gender is just a way to create more social categories for a more complicated system of control with common threads like the subject-object binary that can play to different ways in different contexts.

The whole thing needs to be dismantled and we need to see ppl across gender categories as whole human beings with a meaningful interiority, the capacity for violence, etc. And if we recognize that gender is a complicated system of control, it follows naturally that our gender discourse shouldn't all ask men to sit down / shut up / listen.

5) the issue with transandrophobia BS is that it really wants to exceptionalize the trans masc experience. "It's fucked up that I'm being seen as suspect and capable of violence like terrible cis men, I'm obviously one of the good ones." And as they fight for the best of both worlds ("I should be respected like a man but still seen as incapable of chauvinism") it pushed naturally for trans fems to get the worst of both worlds.

6) returning to feminist "man-hating" there's a lot i oppose for being essentialist or doubling down on subject-object binary. Beyond that, a lot of it is just mean. And like, ppl can be jaded and mean sometimes. But a lot of social justice feminist dogma was ppl developing a bristly defensiveness from constant harassment and trolling. Ppl defending this as an understandable response, and then that shifting into codifying and valorizing it. And I just think it's a miserable way to live and it's miserable to be on the receiving end of it.

I think some grace and understanding for ppl being jaded and bristly is rly helpful but I'm done with valorizing it.

7) all of this said, basic feminist takes about men having lots of pressure and motivations to be chauvinist still apply. And they certainly apply to trans men. But there's a difference between having social expectations that you be a chauvinist and bowing to that pressure. And lots of men are chill and nice! Yes even cishet men!

It's easy to want to draw a hard line where you're "one of the good ones" and are categorically separated from the possibility of being sexist (ontologically incapable of violence, even?) and that goes really poorly.

(most of my beef with transandrophobia is that it's doing this + exceptionalizing trans masc experience in a way that fucks over trans fems).

But I'm not gonna ask ppl to constantly self flagellate or be hyper vigilant to make sure they don't slip up. Sin frameworks are miserable and it's not like being interpersonally shitty in a way that lines up with oppressive systems actually has consequences that much worse than just being an asshole.

So much of the more aggressive side of social justice just feels like ways to treat enemies, not your friends or ppl you want to be in community with.

I'm glad we've been moving on from it.

*editing a footnote since this has already come up a couples times / this post seems to be leaving my immediate circles: by saying misandry isn't real I mean: there isn't a systemic oppression of men as men that parallels misogyny. Gendered oppression isn't a "both sides" situation. When "egalitarian" or mra types brought "misandry" into the discourse this is what they were pushing for.

While I object to the idea that all men evenly oppress all women, patriarchy absolutely has men at the top. It's a complex and multi-directional system of power but there is an overall gendered slant to it. My framework here is still a feminist framework.

rereading ur aus and seeing so many ppl share their ocs made me want to join the dance line ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ (this is my first ask non-anon and prolly like my third ever ask so sorry for the word jumble, im nerVOUS).

I think I will name my little blorbo Stitch. The reason for her name is that she sells handmade plushies online (+ works part time at the local art store to make ends meet) and she gets hurt easily that it isn't too surprising for her to get stitches the various falls and cooking injuries. She's neighbors with Love and they get along very well (girlys with more than a few screws loose) and even gifted a green teddy bear to cabbage when she found out abt the changeling. Stitch is fully human, and at first it was for shits and giggles but it quickly became set that she had like, no magic. nothing. empty like a brick. It's to the point where, idk, I hope this works in this world, even the most normal human at least gets goosebumps/bad feeling (brush it off as the weather or just life stress) when faes are around, but she just don't feel shit. She doesn't have nor retains any magic, so faes can still get hooks in her, but like too strong of a tug and it would *physically* come straight off. Hence her random injuries, and the depth of the injury will depend on the weight of the tether. Tapping doesnt work on her either but it does make her throw up and physically ill.

Still figuring out how this would've happened, but so far my fav idea is that a fae scared her so bad as a child that something went wrong. I know this is mixing cultures, but my mum once told me (and i cannOT for my life find online material supporting this belief) that in the chinese culture one of the ways they explain why children see shit is because they retain the most connections to the Heaven Realm as newly reincarnated subjects (and the connection fades with age and blah blah). So maybe Stitch was seeing the faes so vividly that shit wrecked her to the point a screw goes loose (mentally, emotionally, magically (??) and physically (her hair grows gray now)).

The mental image that started this all is just Stitch walking in the streets looking like a fucking porcupine with all the tethers attached to her and maybe Konig passing by feeling confused that this human?? showed absolutely?? no sign of discomfort (which i assume should be unusually in his presence)??? Ghost once tried (for the first and last time) touching one of the hooks when she was chatting with Love and watches in slight horror (and surprised) as she starts bleeding from a cut on her arm as the hook disappears. Stitch just slaps duct tape (the only thing she had with her) over the wound to stop the blood with a big ol' grin and "It happens :)". 1fae1 def heard abt this incident and maybe even Price is befuddled

Yeah people like Stitch exist in the fae au and I have not gotten a chance to talk about them because most of the darlings have fairly run of the mill human shit going on. BUT The humans that have just zero magic, and don't retain magic to any degree are called "Sinks". Y'know because the magic just sort of sinks into them and is lost forever. The fae are a little iffy around Sinks because yeah their hooks don't catch them right, and I think even for Witch it's like walking past a hole in reality.

Konig would be very confused, Sinks aren't super common and he would probably follow poor Stitch for a while just trying to figure out what was going on. At least Ghost has to play nice because Love likes Stitch. Love would like Stitch a LOT. Mostly because she's like a golden retriever, but also because she would be so excited to have someone to craft with! ok so, tbh my versions of the crps (esp the gals) r a jumbled mess of headcannons just floating around in my head. so forgive me if this is unreadable- (I plan on making details ref sheets in the future!!)

I've always loved the character of sally williams but I find her story uncomfortable and even a little triggering. (I experienced violent SA at a younge age) bc of this I basically changed everything abt her character. so here goes- buckle up!

sally's origins:

to cut to the chase- sally williams was a 10yr murder victim of a cold case from the 70's or 80's. her body was found in the woods long after the initial murder, leaving it nearly unidentifiable. it was believed to be a crime of passion, due to the brutal nature of the attack. there were stab wounds, minor broken bones, blunt force trauma, and most curiously, a large, deep wound to her sternum.

bc of the decayed state of her body no DNA evidence of her attacker was recovered and, bc of the times, not much was looked for as DNA testing wasn't as advanced yet.

her case will remain cold- bc well, her attacker wasn't some creepy or horrendous serial killer, it was a creature~

sally's soul was left to wonder the forest dazed and confused abt what had happened to her. urban legends of a younge girl calling out from the woods surfaced in the following years, no doubt being linked to her case.

instead of a run-of-the-mill apparition, sally is more of a "thing"

I like to play around w the traditional depictions of common monsters and myths, so ghosts r no exception.

she isn't a glowing, transparent mist that takes the form of a small girl. instead she looks just how she did that night, suspended somewhere between life and death.

the more care her soul receives the more her appearance improves. her physical state is able to be altered, (ie. bodily changes like wieght or injury. as well as cosmetic changes like clothing and hair styles.)

-although things like age, body temperature, and height will always stay how they were when she died.

as for any ablities she might have, here is a small list:

- visions (past, present, and future)

- breaking things with her mind ~wo0o0oo~

- and a sort of soul connection w ppl she cares abt (ex. if EJ gets donked she'll be like "ow" or some shit)

personality and relationships <3

sally is a rather rambunctious and rebellious child, making her a uh- "acquired taste" look- either u love her or u hate her.

she can turn nearly any neat room into tornado ally. as u can imagine, she's extremely hard to keep undercontrol so most pastas don't even try lmao. either completely avoiding her in the first place or outright fueling the fire.

her main man is EJ, he's quiet and patient which is a perfect foil to her outrageous character. they enjoy exploring the outdoors, learning, and yes- even playing w dolls. on some rare occasions sally will be convincing enough to get EJ to play house w her <3 often assuming the mother and daughter roles respectively. hehe

nina is another one of sallys friends btw <3 dress up all around! and lots of makeovers.

unlike most depictions of they're relationship, sally and the slenderman do n0T get along. it sees her as a distraction and often tries to get her out of the manor.

(I do not cannon slenderman running or enhabitting the manor, instead I see it as a puppet master of sorts. i can go into this furth if u would like lol)

despite the threat of slenderman, the pastas collectively disobey him in order to keep sally around. they take pitty on her situation, and at the end of the day just want to provide her with a (somewhat) stable environment to put her soul at ease.

i love the idea of a boy who just turned 18 getting knocked up and being shamed for it, but he loves being a baby factory so much that he immediately does it again

many pity him for being such a young father, but pity is the last thing he wants - he actively pursued this, he wanted to become pregnant more than anything in the world and he wanted to do it as soon as he could - and now that he's expanded and rounded out into his undeniably fecund form, he doesn't want it any other way.

he never had plans to go to college or anything of the sort - he had known the lifestyle he wanted for a very long time, and now it was coming to fruition. with school out of the way, he can do what he yearned to do his whole life - laze around and do nothing but gestate and grow.

what the town didn't yet know was that the teen dad had no plans of stopping at just one pregnancy. when he found himself knocked up again shortly after waddling across the stage for his diploma and birthing his first child, everyone in town assumed it was just him being his dumb, slutty self, forgetting protection yet again and getting knocked up as a result. unbeknownst to them, though, it was all on purpose - the boy wanted to spend as little time as possible between pregnancies, and he actively sought to be knocked up again.

it's not until five years later at his high school reunion that his classmates realize that he's a boy on a mission - those five short years change him drastically, and at the reunion he's waddling around laboriously, belly huge round and heavy with the fruits of his seventh pregnancy as his numerous progeny follow him around like a little group of ducklings. at age 23, his family is larger than most of his classmates' families will be in their lifetimes, and it seems he couldn't be happier.

That’s fair anon and it’s good of you to ask this as a genuine question to find out rather than just get frustrated and assume it’s all hypocrisy. You wouldn’t be the first, so thanks for asking instead.

Here comes a read more because I’ve done my best to explain it, and if you wanted a shorter version you shouldn’t have asked me

Tl;dr: Because one is a joke based on a known fiction presented to an audience in on the joke, and the other either isn’t a joke and thus an invasion of privacy, or steps too close to the line for people to feel comfortable engaging in

It all comes down to engaging in the joke vs genuine, harmful speculation. Putting a rainbow flag on a post of a guy hanging out with his girlfriend, who I genuinely do like, is what I HOPE is a clear joke.

What makes it a joke is that I do not believe with any conviction that George and Lewis are actually fucking. I would LOVE it, but they aren’t.

The core tenant of acceptable rpf is being able to separate fiction from the real life that feeds it. We are playing make believe with characters who happen to be based on real people. That’s why most of us will tell you to keep this stuff entirely on tumblr/ao3, so there is a barrier of separation between drivers and fic, and why I do my best to clearly differentiate between when I’m talking about serious topics, and when I’m engaging in very dumb ship talk.

I will also point at the name of my blog, my tag line and my blog title all make it clear I’m not a serious place, I’m here talk about an rpf ship, and occasionally give my fan opinion of motorsport. People shouldn’t be coming to me for unbiased news. I have never been unbiased in my life.

In my posts here I’m leaning into the bit of the entirely fictional ship I enjoy. Of course George isn’t indicating he’s gay by driving a purple Mercedes in LA. That’s a joke I’d hope all of my followers are in on. It’s also a play on how celebrity couples are debated and how real queer people are treated by the world at large.

For example when I came out, both times, the reaction I got most from friends and family was “we already guessed you were”— now while they may think that’s a good way to respond… no they didn’t. They made assumptions based on stereotypes about queer people and applied it to me at an age where I didn’t even know what I was or liked. We’ve all seen the tweets from genuine idiots going “I don’t trust men ordering dessert, that’s for women” or “I think men who wear scarves are a bit gay”, but those are just an extremely concentrated form of stereotypes we’ve seen for decades. If a man enjoys crochet or a woman loves woodworking, you bet your ass Instagram comments will be saying they’re clearly gay.

We also see it all the time around celebrities— people harmfully assuming based on a hair style, a pet, or an attitude that a driver is gay and that they’ve “figured it out”, or even just because you saw two people hanging out a few times they MUST be together. Look at the Lewis and Shakira incident— they never once confirmed a relationship but some people will treat that as absolute fact. We have all seen both Lewis and George separately receiving hate under the assumption they are gay men by homophobic fans- Lewis for his piercings and fashion, and George for having long eye lashes and a slightly effeminate build. Shit, Nelson Piquet, ex f1 champion, has made on broadcast homophobic comments about Lewis that the Brazilian government fined him over. That is how common this idea is to most people.

The only way to know someone is lgbtq+ is if they tell you they are, and the only way to know what relationships they’re in, is if they tell you. It doesn’t matter how much you want to know or what evidence you’ve found, that’s a privacy everyone should be allowed, even celebrities. You do not know until they confirm it. I don’t care if someone came up to me and said they’ve seen George blow a guy, unless he says he’s queer, I don’t know shit.

But it’s still incredibly common, and most queer people experience this, and have opted to reclaim the joke. I will point at George sitting funny and cuffing his jeans and go “see! He’s just like us, the bisexuals”, because that’s a way queer people will joke you identify bi people. And when you read that back, it’s very clearly a joke. You can’t discover someone’s sexuality based on their sitting style. I do the same thing as an autistic person, because we are ALSO heavily scrutinised based on other ideas of what autism is. You don’t know how many fuckin people decide it’s appropriate to tell me “but you don’t seem autistic to me” because I don’t fit their standards. If someone tells me my eye contact means I’m not autistic, I can say George lining up his trains as a kid is a point for autism.

It’s also a joke derived from a genuine lack of representation. Humans like to see themselves represented. There’s no publically gay people on the grid, or autistic folk, so it’s pretty fair for us to decide that fuck it, until there is, I’m grabbing the guy who acts like I do and pretending he’s my rep. That’s how gay slash as a concept really began, honestly. If you don’t give people ample access to something, they’ll make their own, and sometimes even if they have it, they’ll do it anyway because it’s creatively enjoyable.

People get “pissy” (be careful using that word, it’s a lot more patronising than I think you intended it to be) about GENUINE speculation, because its not the acceptable joke we’ve all agreed to. Now you can argue about where the line for the joke should be, or if there should be one at all, but most of us have settled in a similar spot and talk with people who agree with that line. If that makes you uncomfortable, it is okay to leave or block someone. I have been blocked by more than a few het George fans. That is their right.

I think personally that pinning a sexuality to drivers is always going to be seen as genuine speculation unless it’s within the context of a fic where you set the boundaries, or a joke. Personally, if I wrote an entire list out and genuinely put thought into the sexuality of drivers on the grid, that is speculation, and there’s no way around that because I’d be making those assumptions based on stereotypes. Any of the drivers could be queer, none of them could be. We do not and likely will never know because we don’t live in a society where there are 0 ramifications for sharing your sexuality.

All the drivers could be bi but are in straight passing relationships and are happy that way for all we know. We literally have no way to tell unless they chose to share, which is unlikely given that 10/24 of this years races occur in countries where gay marriage is not recognised, and it is explicitly illegal to practice homosexuality in several of those. Even in the remaining countries, Florida, Texas and England have all introduced increasingly hostile anti LGBT legislation — F1 as a sport may try to say otherwise, but you cannot say that it is a queer friendly sport while also travelling to places where if a government decided to act on their laws, many fans could be put in serious danger.

Would you want to come out in that? Especially turning over something so personal and often painful to a public mob who will debate it?

While we all engage in our games here, it can be taken out of this space very quickly, and if someone made a post speculating on driver sexuality, it could spread, get ripped and posted on twitter, and grow into something far uglier very fast. Would you want to see a joke driver sexuality post spread like that? We all saw how the Fernando and Taylor swift joke went so far, so fast, until the fuckin aston admin had Fernando on a tiktok with Taylor swift audio. I’m not gonna make a post I already think is based on a flawed idea, about drivers I don’t care about, with that at risk.

You could argue again that our jokes could spread like that, but in the same way every post can be considered in bad faith when twisted the wrong way, it’s the gamble we make posting here. Trust me— I’m the guy who had his art posted in an Instagram hate collage by max fans— nothing is safe from the wrong eyes here.

I have also seen first hand the awful examples of people actually making those lists to coddle their faves. I have seen the posts where people genuinely think max is bisexual and autistic. They are infuriating.

Because I hate that, I frequently remind myself sometimes to be clearer when I’m being a rpf fan boy making a joke, and when I’m critiquing my drivers genuinely.

I can’t stop other people blurring or forgetting the line between joke and reality, but I can refuse to do it myself. I am only responsible for myself, and for making sure my jokes are clear enough most people will get them.

So that’s why yeah, I’ll make limp wrist joke about George, becuase I’ve been the target of them, but I’m not going to speculate on sexuality. I hope that helps.

disco elysium is a pretty great game if you're a mentally ill gay communist from a post-ussr country, so long as you do not participate much in fan spaces. holy shit the amount of bad takes and ppl assuming their analysis is the most Correct and just generally being... . personally it did also sow some seeds for catharsis, but if i hadnt played the game before it blew up i probably wouldnt play it now. anyway do you have any "slower" game recommendations? ideally something that could be run on older computers?

the myst series!!! 100%! its one of my favorites! in case you're not familiar beyond "oh, theyre that steampunk-ish series of 90s-00s games where you solve puzzles and get things to work", let me ramble about them a bit. II (Riven) and III (Exile) are the best ones, but i am Known as the weirdo with an obsession with Uru (the complete chronicles version includes both expansions so it is the one youll want), which takes place long after the main series' events and was supposed to be a multi-player but that didnt work out (and the studio was driven to bankruptcy) and the resulting single-player game feels so lonely and serene--in a good way, in my opinion. the games are ridiculously pretty, like, visually they aged extremely well. im extremely fond of this particulr way of combining of live actors with pre-rendered environments and other animations. Myst V and Uru are a bit of a different story, as in you move around freely and (most of) the environments are rendered in real time, but man, this particular (relatively) low-poly beauty of them, theyre so aesthetically sophisticated to me. gameplay-wise, theyre based on exploration, and require you to pay close attention to your surroundings and solve puzzles, such as getting various mechanisms to work, and often times they create something akin to an escape room experience, and sometimes following clues and trails left by other characters. and while obviously The way to play them is to try and figure things out yourself, and it does get challenging, even if it gives you enough trouble that you end up consulting a guide, or already know the solutions (i know many of them by heart at this point), its still a lovely experience. looking at the environments and objects and architecture, taking in the ambiance, learning the lore behind things. most of the characters you interact with (especially the one you interact with the most, atrus) are also Extremely Flawed People and it is reflected both in their actions and in the ages they write (if you don't know what that means, youll see), in their ideas of "prison" and "idyllic paradise" and the implications thereof and so on. it is engaging stuff.

also peter gabriel was involved in the series at some point (songs and voice acting) and for 7 year old me who already loved myst And was a fan of and had a sort of parasocial relationship with peter gabriel it was a mind-blowing crossover

whats the day to day in miitopia verse for ur folks

Depends on the person! readmore bc im goin through most everyone lmao. For some info tho, my main verse takes place roughly 2 years after the events of the game

For the 'main' postgame team of Mim, Calia, Dela, and Kets, if they don't have some kinda quest stuff going on (the occasional face and/or monster incident still happens, funni postgame plot antics i came up with so that i could do more silli stuff w writing the lads still) they tend to hang around the Travel Hub and just sorta do whatever--

Mim tends to team stuff or the horse (named Creamsicle) and also just likes to socialize at various lil cafes and such, and if Calia isn't keeping to herself she likes to follow Mim around. Calia, being near-blind due to... reasons, as well as just being a very likes-her-own-space sort, tends to prefer to just stay in familiar locations and do whatever activities it is a cleric does

Dela's also fairly social, but aside from that she tends to spend time semi-training Kets in how to be better at sneaky spy and info-gathering stuff-- she's the thief and he's the intel, more or less. They also do their own more private 'quests' on occasion for ppl who may need information or certain objects taken from another-- assuming the person isn't doing anything too bad and they pay decently, or if it's a special case that they feel they need no pay for.

The rest of the main 10 are not always available, and tend to stick to their home locations-- they do occasionally join up for various quests and all and still all maintain a lot of contact with eachother, but the others have their own lives to live too and can't just always dedicate to being part of the active party.

Quarty and Rasi, on top of being an active couple and doing Couple Things, tend to also like to help eachother with their careers on occasion! Although he isn't much the performer type, Rasi helps Quarty with practice and rehearsal performances and testing new songs out, and Quarty helps Rasi with certain knight-in-training tasks, though he isn't very good for combat practice help since bladed weapons were never really his thing.

They're not always together though, and while Rasi often has to deal with knight things, Quarty is also helping in teaching Dinzy in Popstar music type stuff! Dinzy otherwise does normal school-aged kid stuff, but she loves going to Quarty to learn his ticks and help out.

Val and Nal-- the twin brothers of Neksdor-- actually run a business together! A sort of weird combination restaurant and tech help place, though part of the gimmick is that if someone isn't really in a position to pay they'll "accidentally" charge less or even "forget" to charge, since in the end their ultimate goals is simply to help the people of their communities who need it. Every since being part of the main team, they've more than had the funds to be able to sustain this sort of thing.

Aside from their work, they also deal with Micha-- an android from Nimbus who was rescues and now stays with them, mostly on account of Nal knowing how to manage all that techy stuff. It's sort of like raising a kid if that kid was a very learning-how-to-be-a-person robot with dangerous weaponry on hand. She's friendly, just... needs a bit of direction.

Zinni and Sprout, the weird sibling-like duo of the Fey Realm, don't really have any specific tasks they tend to-- they just sorta play the part of secondary protectors to the place, in the even that they're either better suited for something or the Fab Fairies aren't available. The two also have a lot of learning how to be in an actual community to do, seeing as Sprout is a wild child from the forest, and Zinni is a cult escapee

There's also Hazari, who is Kets' half-sister, and she's... got issues. Mostly relating to some not very kind views held by some parts of the Fey folk, and also havin the complex of being all mature and cool and smart at the ripe old age of like... 14-16 or so. Zinni and Sprout at least try to rein her in a little, seeing as she does need to be able to get along with the others on account of being one of the 4 new recruits to the team. She's also concerning obsessed with getting the approval of the Great Sage, much to Marin's dismay.

Visula, a semi-Vampire (as there is two flavors of vampire) from Peculia, mostly spends her time away from home for... reasons, and usually is in the traveler's hub somewhere doing her own things, and occasionally pestering Mim and Calia, the later being due to them being childhood friends before Calia had moved to Greenhorne! Honestly out of everyone Visula probably has the most normal day to day, just hang out and vibe and talk to friends.

Most of the Origins team is uh... dead people. Ghosts. Save for Vivo, due to him being a True Vampire and thus an ageless entity. He prefers to be active at night (The sun isn't all that dangerous, but True Vampires are at least mildly bothered by it and him having albinism doesn't help) but for the most part they all just stay at his place, hidden away and playing games and chatting and all that-- he hasn't gone out much since the events that went down roughly 200 years ago (though to be fair, he spent most of that asleep)

Marin and Nori live in a cabin in Powdered Peaks, near the edge closest to the Travel Hub, seeing as that's Marin's home before everything as well. Although they do both travel between the various other places often, in part due to that simply being what Marin does, and in part to help with Nori's atonement and rehabilitation, they spend a decent amount of time at home too. Marin does a lot of personal studies on magic and nature-related stuff, as well as a lot of magic training to keep her skills and spells sharp, and Nori just... kinda does whatever. She hasn't figured out her place or herself out enough to stick to one thing quite yet.

Much to their activities when traveling, aside from... well, traveling and camping and such, also involved helping people out as they go in typically small ways, though larger situations to also arise at times. Though, Marin does tend to avoid the more populated places, on account of not really being much of a people person, despite her reputation and how she acts,and wanting to not get caught up in too much weirdness that results from basically being the land's equivalent of a celebrity.

And... Trence. He used to live alone, but in more recent times Hasal, a living ghost not unlike how Nori now is, ended up showing up and opting to stay with him in Lumos. There's not much to do unless you count dealing with all he monsters and the very much vengeful ghosts there, but while Hasal does who-knows-what like the mysterious lil freak he is, Trence likes to tinker around with robotics and tech and program and stuff in his freetime, and has also taught himself how to fight enough to manage his job and situation, even eventually making himself a custom scythe that has a flippable blade! He's a bit of a workaholic too, though, and... doesn't treat himself the best, but Hasal has been trying to help with that.

who is shea and why is do ppl hate when colby is around her.. are they like a thing or something?

i feel like i get this type of ask every couple months haha

i don't mind it, just find it a bit funny.

shea is a friend of colby's that's he had in his life since 2015/16. he's done a couple collabs with her on his personal channel way back in 2017, and then one in 2020 (i think).

they have been shipped in the fandom since day one, which is why a lot of ppl either assume or believe they have dated or are dating. this also depends on how new the fan is or not.

as for why ppl don't like her, it's a bit complicated.

i'll try to explain this is the quickest and simplest of ways.

basically since ~2018, she has constantly been very coy about their relationship, even tho colby has outright said they haven't dated or aren't dating. way back when, during a livestream that i saw, she was asked multiple times if her and him were dating and she would just say "guys, you know i can't tell you" or shit like that. instead of, you know, outright sayin him and her weren't dating which would be the truth.

is in group chats with fans telling them info about her and colby, but mostly colby

liked (and still does) edits that shit on the girls colby is friends with/is shipped with also

this caused her to get into some hot water bc she liked hate edits that shitted on amber scholl, then got called out for it, didn't apologize at first until it finally came to a head, only to then send an apology to her gcs who then posted her apology. but when fans called her out for THAT, that's when she finally publicly apologized, saying that "women need to support other women" and that she likes everything and that she didn't notice it was a hate edit and that she'll be more careful about it in the future (which she wasn't, she just didn't get called out for it)

told a gc of fans that colby and andrea russett back in 2019 weren't dating (bc ppl were shipping them two at the time) bc andrea was in a relationship with someone else, someone that andrea herself never even came forward with to her own fans until the relationship had ended. the only reason shea did this was bc it ruined the idea that shea kept telling fans: that her and colby were together.

I'm gonna answer very clearly to this, anon, both for you and anyone else thinking the same thing. I will not answer a second time, so take the time to read it, or don't, but if I get another message like this one, I'll delete it. So I suggest you do take the time to read it, and to understand it.

Point #1:

I do talk about things even when they're problematic, even when it comes to characters I love. But our definition of what's problematic is probably not the same, since for Greens stans I'm automatically someone who is problematic herself. I've never whitewashed my favorites characters or ships, and since you're talking about HOTD: I never said that because there's a right side, said side didn't do anything wrong. I even said Rhaenyra was a tyrant, because it's the truth and everyone who has read Fire & Blood knows what she's done during her reign. Just because she's one of my favorite ASOIAF characters doesn't mean I think she was a really nice person and a good queen. I guess that's why it bothers me when I see comparisons to Daenerys, even though they have parallels, because unlike Rhaenyra, Dany is a hero, not a tyrant.

Point #2:

Not all people who are team Blacks think Aemond deserved to lose an eye. Some people did say it, yes. Just like some people said that Luke deserved to die, or to have one eye removed too. But that doesn't mean all people who are team Greens think that, either, and I'm not gonna accuse every Alicent stan or everyone who loves Aemond to have been delighted to see Luke die. It's called common sense to realize that not all people, even those who agree on many things, do not share the same opinions and feelings on literally everything.

Point #3: I don't let anyone answer for me. I answered about a scene and doesn't feel the need to repeat myself or to talk about one scene to death. People who disagree with me are welcome to disagree, but there's no point in telling me again and again that I should have a different point of view. If we're not gonna agree, we're not gonna agree. Why should I argue with someone for I don't know how long about the same thing? So we can both end up losing our calm, be rude and insult each other? I'm not interested in doing this.

Point #4:

That being said, everyone has the right to comment my posts, add text and/or tags when reblogging them. I haven't seen someone saying something I don't agree with, but they also have the right to speak for themselves. Back when they were human / pagans (or in Cassandra’s specific case, since I have both a follows res lore more and she was human alt for most other people in the fandom, and the personal one i have/my own canon that’s not necessarily game canon for the most part, and i’ll only write with ppl who say it’s okay cause yknow, most ppl like res for the realism of it all n stuffs. If one can count zombies created by biology and a fungi that turns people into mutants realism. mostly thats all reserved for ppl who knew her when i wrote her as mal but that’s besides the point— hybrid.) there was once some level of loyalty to miranda. once. At the very least, bela was loyal, dani was likely indoctored at a young age (she’s the one we see in the images of miranda infecting the girls). Cassandra’s loyalty was strictly due to being part of bela’s coven, and a deep desire for family/familial bonds after being abandoned and abused. Due to that, her loyalty was to bela, not miranda, but being loyal to bela meant loyalty to miranda to a point. 

There’s still some similarity lying there from between human and rebirth. So i’ll go through it daughter by daughter for all the Qs!

Bela holds the most loyalty to miranda— because of alcina having loyalty to miranda. That loyalty is tricky, for the most part. Everything goes to Alcina first and foremost, and if bela can avoid letting miranda know anything, she will. She doesn’t trust miranda like she trusts her mother, and she’s seen miranda not giving alcina the respect bela believes she deserves. If anything comes up, alcina’s who she lets know, and assumes if alcina wants miranda to know, then it’s probably the right decision even if she doesn’t agree with it. We see it in game too; when they find ethan, they don’t just start playing with him. They know he’s important to something mother’s doing, so they bring him over to her. 

There is a secondary factor though; even though bela will go to alcina first, we can see with her second interaction with ethan. Daniela’s excited to see what alcina does to him. Cassandra will fight him and call alcina over until the final battle with her. Bela does neither. She’s intent on taking care of him then and there. Even when ethan figured out how to weaken her, she believes she’s got the upper hand. That she knows what’s best. That it’s her responsibility to handle it.

There’s a sort of ‘what mother doesn’t know can’t affect her’ situation there. And she’ll lie if she has to. When alcina was telling her not to do anything with ethan yet, she was nearly crying in the moment; maybe assuming she was going to be scolded, maybe for not getting her way. She assumes she knows what situations will anger her and which won’t. That she knows when to do what, and alcina won’t mind. 

Which lends a hint that, despite everything, there may not be as much loyalty to her family as one might think. Unintentionally, but true loyalty by the cult’s standards was doing as wanted without thought. Bela doesn’t really do that. She thinks about it a lot. And a lot of the time it angers her. she’s loyal, just not in the way some would want or expect. 

She mentions disdain over the fact alcina kills all the staff (in the game files/voice lines not necessarily in playable game, but in game nonetheless.) and she clearly considers herself undertreated in comparison to her sisters; most of the reason she hunts ethan at all seems to be to gain alcina’s praise, otherwise she’s so against dirt and mess, it’s almost like she doesn’t like hunting at all. 

A lot of comments of note from the voice lines are also revolving around her general disdain for her siblings. She doesn’t speak much on daniela, but she insults cassandra every chance she gets. Hates cassandra’s mess, hates the situations cass gets into. She doesn’t seem to enjoy how much praise cassandra gets, and likely if there’s that hint of jealousy, she wouldn’t like the fact alcina has all of cass’ hunts on display in the house. (I don’t remember where that got confirmed, but i do remember either the actors or capcom confirmed it.  Pretty sure it was capcom but i watched a lot of nicole’s streams and, of course given what happened with Cass’ VA, I could imagine that just having been something maggie and nicole said too. so.) 

It’s all kind of ironic, too, given cass has nothing but compliments for her sisters– aside from occasionally saying they can be annoying, she compliments them a ton. Cassandra’s also the only one who was going to be given an apology (in game) from alcina. Maybe due to alcina realizing that was her only daughter left.. Except not anymore, but yknow.) i do think that could add to bela’s disdain towards everyone. She’s the eldest, and definitely seems to consider herself doing all the work, taking all the effort and blame, even though alcina raised them all the same. 

Even where the demo’s concerned, cassandra’s called upon, cassandra’s playing the most with the maiden, and cassandra seems to have the most run of the house (understandably from a play perspective, since their swarms cause a huge lag issue, but yea) daniela says she receives the most praise, but there’s no sure way of telling who all is telling the honest truth there. Even in the trailer for the dlc though, cass is who got called, and that’s gotta weigh down on bela when she wants all of alcina’s love and affection centered on her. 

Also of note: cassandra’s the only one who, when she calls for alcina, alcina appears. Gameplay wise i think it’s because the girls are all in locked rooms, which is why with cass when you finally can kill her, she’s by herself and locked in where alcina can’t get, but outside of the fact it was 100% gameplay mechanics, it’s also hard to ignore the fact cassandra was the only one hunting him throughout the house, and who could call alcina to her, as well as her sisters, and alcina would show up. 

Bela tries her hardest to act like alcina most of the time, and while their personalities are similar, bela has her mother’s professional and rich personality: neat, manners, control freak. Trying to be exactly like alcina– minus the pure joy for hunting, ironically– forced bela into the position of forcing herself to a perfect daughter mold. And she hates it. She hates that mindset, she hates feeling undervalued and underloved. And overall, because of her causing herself to enter that mindset, she’s also got some disdain for her mother and sisters as well, and it’s pretty evident when you look towards the fine details. Despite all the respect bela has for mom, she’s also angry, and thinks she may know better in some situations. 

With the other lords, Bela lacks respect for.. Any of them, really. She recognizes Karl is constantly working, but thinks he’s dirty and gross and doesn’t like him because of it. That, and he’s a man. 

Similarly with moreau, he’s a fishy little man, and that makes her hate him. Bela doesn’t tend to try and develop any relations with any of the lords, but moreau especially she dislikes.

She probably sees donna as the most respectable of the lords, but still considers her less than her mother. Angie just annoys her, tbh. She’d be extremely cruel to angie, probably even to the point that alcina would scold her for it, despite alcina’s distaste for them too. 

Bela, specifically, only considers them ‘mother’s siblings’. And doesn’t necessarily deem them worthy of the title. Especially since she’s older than a lot of them, and kind of believes she deserved her own ascension to a lord status.

Cassandra’s loyalty to miranda.. Doesn’t exist. She knows Alcina respects her, and her respect for her is more in the sense of ‘this death gave me family in a new life’. Other than that, she doesn’t have much of an opinion of miranda or the cult. She’s not a religious person by nature, and even with the cult status, she doesn’t even know miranda’s prayer. Cassandra has dyspraxia, dyslexia, (dyscalculia but it likely doesn’t matter here since numbers arent really used), she’s autistic and ADHD. mentally, she was never going to be good enough for Miranda to use for Eva. the fact she was already blind in her right eye didn’t help matters, and the transformation left her with the greyed eye becoming silver, as her brown eye had become gold. Most of her scars seemed to have faded a fair bit, thanks to insects making up most of her form now. 

She’s not as good at the ‘business’ side of things like bela is. And cassandra praises bela’s brain from end to end. Her loyalty lies strictly to her sisters and alcina. Alcina praises her, raised her, and even though cassandra does get scolded fairly often (I actually think bela might have been scolded more originally, but cass gets most of it for her behavior. Cass just does more more often so bela sees the praise cass gets more often.) 

If alcina tells cass to pray to miranda, she’ll do her best to try because mother wants her to. That’s it. Much of alcina’s rage towards miranda’s lack of care over bela’s death? Raise that even further for cassandra, because cassandra knew she wouldn’t care. Miranda rarely visits, only calls to lay orders or complain, all the lords seem to hold meetings purely to boost miranda up. It’s all behavior that, in my main canon (that’s again only used w ppl who are chill w the fae thing hmu) she dealt with that before– she was locked away in a prison beneath his kingdom for years because of someone like that. Those memories are blocked out, but she can’t stand the behavior, and thinks alcina would do better than miranda ever could at being the ‘black god’s hand’. 

Loyalty to her sisters, too, is there. Despite bela’s obvious distaste towards her, cassandra does just about everything bela asks her to. Even with dani– if she’s already doing something for bela or alcina, cass won’t have time to do things with her, but if dani wanted cass to play with her, cass wouldn’t deny it. Chances are she’d love for dani to join her on hunts. Keep that safe distance, but still get to play together in a way. Even if cass thinks dani can be childish, she still wants her sisters to be happy.

And she definitely mostly hunts with alcina. Alcina’s who taught her to be as sadistic as she is. She loves alcina to and fro, and would do anything momma asked her to. Even if she doesn’t understand alcina’s loyalties, she loves alcina so much that it doesn’t matter. As long as alcina remembers to care about her sisters more than their grandma. 

Sad as it might seem, she honestly would let her sisters get away with anything so long as she felt like family with them. As selfish and sadistic as she is, she canonically shows loving her sisters more than anything else, and is broken to no end with their deaths.

As for the other lords–

She feels bad for moreau. Chances are she’s insulted him and shit on him too, because she can and she speaks before she thinks. But she also feels bad for how alone he is. Again, she doesn’t remember her past life, she doesn’t know why she feels for him. Though chances are she’s brought some of the random food items her mother’s brought back from business trips at moreau’s door. Even though she doesn’t necessarily know how to have an actual relationship with him, she still wants him to feel like someone cares about him. Even if he’s under the false impression that it’s miranda. He’s the brother mom doesn’t like or talk about, but more acceptable than the other brother. 

Donna she has a sort of understanding of, but she also doesn’t talk to her at all. Or hang around her. The dolls tend to make her uncomfortable, especially because she can’t exactly see them as well as her sisters could with their actually two functioning eyes. Her depth perception and general balance are both off, due to her blind eye and dyspraxia, so being around those things wouldn’t be the best for her all in all.  Mom’s sister, but again, mom doesn’t like to talk about her much. Even if she’s been invited for tea before and no showed more than once. 

I have a personal headcanon that the pipe bombs around the dimitrescu residence are from the girls (aka, dani and cass, bc bela refused) hanging out with Karl. Alcina and Bela went off on some trip and Dani and Cass, bored as hell, decided to drop in on uncle Karl and bug him. And what else is he gonna teach a few girls that like chaos and destroying everything? 

Aka, it’s kind of ironic that ethan essentially used Heisenberg’s creations to kill the niece that doesn’t like him, and it was sort of dani and cass faults too for leaving them around. 

I also have a headcanon that cass, while not knowing wtf he uses them for, assumes karl uses male bodies to create the lycans. Possibly ‘other things’ since she considers necromancy perfectly normal and fine and something she does regularly, and probably wouldn’t register.. Ahem.. any gross things being gross. If u catch my drift. Sorry uncle karl, ur niece thinks ur weird. Tho in her mind its not weird. Ig. 

So the one area by the dimi residence that karl accesses, she just leaves some bodies there for him sometimes. Or drops them off by the bridge to his factory. She doesn’t want to go in there. Factories mean machines, machines mean lights, and lights make her dizzy. 

I’ve also had the joke headcanon before that if alcina actually did do the opera nights maggie talked about in nicole’s streams, and karl was actually forced to sit out in the hall like maggie and neil said he would, cass would hang out with him since she wouldn’t be that interested in taking part in opera night. Especially an event that miranda forces the other lords to go to to shut alcina up, doesn’t go to herself, and the only one allowed to talk the entire night is alcina. Cass doesn’t have the attention span to sit still that long lol. When alcina scolds her she clocks out mentally after a few minutes, so.

Probably even if she got to know him a little bit more, even as of right now tbh, she likes karl the most. Especially if she learned that rebuilds the bodies and turns them into little working machines, since when she brings people back from the dead its to make guards for the castle. Plus, it’d mean he’s not using them for something else. Mostly cause then she could drop off the scarecrows she made from men that have been pecked too much, since they wouldn’t need to be soft and fleshy. 

is worthy of note, she only really brings him men. the few times women were dropped off, someone probably daniela found the bodies and just tossed a few she didn’t want reanimated in there, lol

Plus, if he did want to talk her into his war against grandma miranda, she’d be for it tbh. She doesn’t like miranda and thinks she’s too mean to mom. Thus eating her would be funtimes. talking her into fighting someone she’s seen treat mom with disrespect isn’t hard, even though she likes the uncle that disrespects mom the most lmAO 

Dani’s loyalty is only, only to alcina. A little bit to her sisters, but she does feel left out a lot. She considers bela the smartest, and cassandra the best killer. Her emotions run high and fast, and she jumps between stability and slashing a maid’s face for not doing something quickly enough in a moment. She’s purely chaotic, and miranda’s structure and beliefs don’t resonate with dani at all. 

She doesn’t seem to follow along with what alcina wants most of the time, either, but she loves her mother and is loyal to her to a fault. If it messes with her good time, though, she won’t do it. Much as she loves mother and is loyal to her, she doesn’t believe loyalty means doing everything said on a whim. Things on a whim would be fun, not work. 

With her relatives, dani has the most of a relationship with all of them. She loves bothering unkie heisy (yes I stole that from neil and its gr8), they behave sorta similarly and it’s hilarious. i could go on and on about it, but this is already p long, but i do think she’s the most likely he’d let hang around since they’re so similar. she probably also annoys him too, though; a lot of people hate others that are similar to them, so, up in the air really. 

She likes moreau, sorta, but he’s also still smells fishy and she doesn’t like that very much. Plus his romance films are really boring to her.

Donna shares her care for plants; dani’s canonically got a lot of quotes related to gardening, and seems to be responsible for most of the houseplants. With how her mind is, she probably isn’t bothered as much by donna’s hallucinogenic plants, and can bring donna thinks to help care for them. Maybe even taught her some things, cause again, she’s much much older than donna, and would have a lot more experience. Plus, it gives her an excuse to endlessly go on and on about something she enjoys. It’s v v cute and we love that for her. Auntie donna and auntie donna’s weird doll, basically.

i do think that ultimately the whole "don't assume someone is straight" IS a positive thing to internalize but i also do think that the sentiment has somehow transformed into ppl applying certain provisional gay culture qualities upon strangers who might just be hot/creative/funny in unconventional or fresh ways (in kind of a similar way to ppl pointing out how someone is physically attractive if they are perceived as unproblematic ("look how you can age if you stay in your lane" kind of thing), which is a whole issue on its own but i digress) or even if they somehow are adjacent to the culture itself by either being close friends with or dating queer ppl or even creating queer-friendly content.

and i DON'T think that assuming someone is gay or bi is the exact same thing as assuming someone is straight (even though the whole private life thing is like. still very important yk??? it still feels invasive) due to the generally heteronormative world we live in but ALSO i think it's weird to build a certain queer mythos around a person regardless of their own personal identity and experience ESPECIALLY in the age where we are so concerned with observing each other in the digital panopticon. like yeah sure public figures are forced to come to terms with some level of their personal life being open to the public consumption, but popular culture and the way the audiences interact with the celebrities have changed Dramatically in the last few years for better or for worse. the mere idea of celebrity is now so much more casual and approachable and accessible to the masses (both due to the predetermined and the natural developments in social media as public forums) and it's insidious how gradual it feels to become fully succumbed in it.

all that is to say... obviously i can't stop you from considering someone bisexual until proven wrong - i'm not going to posture here and say that i don't have these kinds of thoughts about some people - but it's also important to be careful about the way we kind of tulpa ourselves into building an entire personality for someone most of us would ultimately never know in a private, personal manner (and even then!!!! but this goes without saying.) this kind of thing often turns ugly not just for the person (though they might not be too affected due to the still remaining distance which is honestly a great thing to have, as i've mentioned) but also just for the general tone of conversations ppl have every day online. ppl - yes, even the famous ones - are allowed to not have to contend with the private matters in their public identity, whether it's something that's partially created by their marketing team OR their following. annoyingly, even the idea of someone being a really good ally is being built into some kind of deific martyrdom. i just want ppl to relax and become less concerned with other ppl's personal sense of self.

Random Headcanon's for the Scream Character's

Billy really was a normal sweet kid and a good boyfriend before his mom left. Everyone paints him as always being crazy and his mom just triggered him but I honestly don't think that's true. Sidney and her parents would not have been okay with her dating a bad boy from Sophomore year onward. Sure it happens and maybe she saw past it but If Sidney would have seen how Billy acted with Randy in the videostore; instant break up imo. He could not have hid that side of himself for two years straight. Remember, they were dating a whole year prior to Maureen cheating. My theory is he may or may not have had a 'side' to him or other undiagnosed disorder in his gene pool (Mrs Loomis snapping too.) but Billy's psychotic breakdown was mostly situational + groomed by Roman and there were other things in his life that probably were boiling over and Debbie leaving him completely broke him. So, he was in an extremely vulnerable state when Roman came around and molded him. THAT is why Sidney trusted him so much in Scream before the phone incident and even somewhat after. Because Billy was a good boyfriend before her mom's murder and she would have never suspected it. Now how her or no one else could see him tumbling into madness or at least deep depression before Roman sank his talons in is beyond me. Maybe she did and he shrugged her off? Either way, the situation made him shut down all empathy towards other people and changed him. His empathy is towards his mom, possibly his dad since Hank never died and that is it. He has symptoms of a psychopath and even though that is usually genetic I 100% think a psychotic breakdown could do it as well.(Don't come for me bitch I'm not trained in any of this just using what I know from research 🧍‍♀️) If his mom never left and Roman didn't come along; Billy would have never been a killer

Contrary to Billy's situational psychological crazyness. Stu was always going to kill. I don't even think it's is he a sociopath vs a psychopath argument as much as he is just disconnected from reality. (Though he would most likely be a Sociopath if he was bc of his lack of boundaries as well impulsive behavior. Thinking killing was a game.) Stu possibly suffered abuse as a child. He was terrified of his parents more than the law. Either A. They abused him and permanently terrified him. Or B. He really has a stunted mentality and thinks of killing as a game and fears his parents more than the law bc the consequences are just not clicking LIKE A KID. He's like a giant little kid with no sense of how things work. He still could have been abused and that is what stunted his growth mentally. However, his violent tendacies were always there. Never preplanned just urgent anger or sadistic glee he couldn't control. Billy just suggested the killings and he was instantly down. Like, hell yeah cool. Most ppl no matter what mental illness they have or how severe are not that easy to convince. Whose to say he hadn't killed before or was planning to? My theory is he is so disconnected from reality that killing really is a giant fun game to him and he would have eventually murdered someone even without Billy.

Idk why this isn't more thought of throughout the fandom. Billy and Stu did not rape Maureen bc the evidence would have pointed to someone other than the guy they were framing. Cotton Weary had sex with Maureen, left, Billy and Stu taunted her on the phone and lured her away, they killed her, police suspected rape bc A. they didn't know about the affairs. B. Cotton's semen or her discharge or bruising being there. They naturally assumed it was rape but in actuality no one raped her. Cotton's dna from their affair incriminated him even more. Not saying that Billy and Stu would think of rape as morally wrong enough not to do in their book BUT it would have been stupid on their part and made it obvious there were other suspects besides Cotton.

Stu isn't a lapdog. Stu literally revealed on the phone he was going to throw Billy under the bus. He hesitated giving him the knife. Stu is like a kid. He most likely suffered trauma that regressed his mental age. He's eager to please, desperate for attention and most likely fawns over people he feels close to in an obsessive way. He could have even been in love with Billy and vice versa which is why he was so eager to please him. However, he was not nearly as stupid or a lapdog as much as the fandom makes him out to be. I think Randy saying it in the videostore sealed the deal for people even though he was only acting like that bc he was helping Billy too and covering their tracks. Billy was the one with the plan. Stu just tagged along out of the urge to kill. But he 100% had his own plan to kill and bail if needed. My mind is made up on that.

There was a third killer in Scream and it wasn't a teen or Roman. You're telling me two 17-18 yr old guys could come up with every detail? Roman only told Billy the basics. How did they get tactical police shoes? How did they get to the houses so fast and leave just as quickly? How did they both take down and restrain Steve or Neil by themselves enough to tie them up? Sure, Stu was deranged and tall but these two lanky teens were able to take on a football player with muscles and a grown man? Possible but stil meh to me. Their plan was too thorough for two teen boys to come up with on their own. Both crazy. One completely unhinged and disconnected from reality and the other so blinded by revenge he was stupid at times. (Fucking stabbing yourselves before killing Neil and Sidney. Not even thinking to AT LEAST tie Sidney up as well...Really? Jill was smarter in 4 in that respect tbh.) I truly think their was an adult involved in Scream helping them or guiding them. I would say Roman if it wasn't for him going back to Hollywood. But Billy and Stu had help DURING the killings 100%.

Randy is not this mecha survival final boy like the fandom thinks. The kid watched one too many horror movies and based them on real life. Scream itself is making fun of slasher movies and Randy was supposed to be the narrator setting most of the dumb rules up into play. Everyone is like "omg that's so out of character how he died in 2" no its not. If the rules work then him losing his virginity did him in. He was drinking, he was pissed off and not thinking. Plus Mrs. Loomis attacked in broad daylight, something no one thought of. (And the whole debate how a middle aged woman could pull him in. LOOK. Randy is a fucking small guy and she grabbed him backwards, using momentum to haul him back into the van. PLUS she was enraged at what he said about Billy. Adrenaline is a hell of a super drug as far as testing the bodies limits. I have seen tiny girls become the hulk when they are pissed I'm jus sayin) Point is, Randy was just a teen boy that loved horror movies. He was not some survival guide especially since it showed him even on the couch not aware of Ghostface behind him. He was a giant satire showing how even he didn't always follow the rules of slasher movies and how dumb the rules are.

Tatum loved Sidney and had more chemistry with her than Billy. I am not saying they weren't just BFF's and I don't want to ruin female friendship with constantly thinking "omg they are gay together" any time two women are close. BUT it is strange that it was only those two as friends especially since Sidney didn't fit into Tatum's popular social circle. It's like Tatum went out of her way to be friends with Sidney. Maybe they were childhood friends and that's why? But I think it's entirely possible that just like it's speculated that Stu and Billy were secretly in love; Tatum possibly was at least bi and in love with Sidney.

Do you have any advice for ppl who’ve been in a reading slump since... 5 ever ? i love reading somehow it’s just harder to get into it these days :(

Omg for sure!! Here is a scrambled little list, I hope at least some of it helps:

📖 read in any format (ebook, physical book, audiobook) bc they’re all valid and make reading more accessible for people which is I think part of why ppl get hoity toity abt it. Ignore them. Also, I assume that if you wanna read, at least a large chunk of why is because you wanna have fun and consume stories yes? 😳 you can do that w/ any form of book, and any other reasons you might have to want to read, like expanding vocab or broadening ur horizons or learning to analyze books should be secondary. Focus on making it a fun and near-effortless/painless thing again and then u can graduate to those (I think that’ll come naturally tbh as long as you read semi-consistently) Fun comes First and I say that as a terrible English major 😗

📖 And with that in mind, read whatever you want, even if it’s simple or cringe or a reread or whatever because after completing the first few impulsive reads that you find engaging enough to finish completely, you can worry about reading what you think you “should” or what would benefit you specifically if that makes sense. Like I’m completely pro reading new things and not limiting urself to 1 genre but there’s no harm in taking your time moving onto things that don’t immediately pique ur interest. Get into the groove of things first, the criticism of ppl who are well past the target age market for YA but still exclusively consume it doesn’t apply to people who are trying to rediscover their love of reading imo.

📖 keep books nearby all the time! (All!!! The time!!!!) You might not actually read them 45/50 times that you bring them with you to places/keep them near you wherever u spend time at your house, but those 5 times will be bliss and you’ll thank yourself! Do it! Especially if ur open to ebooks and can read them on ur phone!

📖 put your phone somewhere far away on mute and force yourself to read for a specific chunk of pages or time. Very old person-ish advice but like. They’re onto smth when they tell us to do stuff like that, but they’re also way too smug and holier-than-thou about it so no need to tell any of them that! 🤫 but seriously be honest w/ urself if u have a compulsive notification checking problem and challenge yourself to overcome it long enough to meet a very small teensy tiny goal 🥅

📖 I juggle a lot of books at once and I’m constantly planning ahead in my brain when I do it, without consciously meaning to (library deadlines for digitized books are so strict 💔) And often I don’t end up following these plans perfectly, because following them perfectly isn’t the point, especially since life happens all the time and isn’t often very receptive when we wish we could forget everything and read for several straight hours. Reading shouldn’t be a burden, but the vague guidelines help. I think stuff like “tomorrow I’ll finish this poetry collection before bed” or “I’m gonna study and then read 2 chapters of this novel I’m rlly digging as a treat before continuing,” “I’m gonna listen to 4 chapters of this audiobook while I take a walk or do chores” etc etc. and usually I end up reading at least a little! And the best thing is when I read more than intended because the book is just that fun. I don’t write these plans down, but if it helps you to do so I urge you to anon :0 !! Just remember ur writing them on paper/a screen and not in stone, so you can always be flexible and change things around and you’re not by any means a failure for doing so. To be flexible w/ urself is most likely to ensure long term progress imo!

📖 speaking of juggling it’s absolutely fine to cycle through a ton of books and sometimes abandon them for months and come back when the whim strikes! If your memory is good enough and you prefer having a bunch of variety at all times, jump from book to book with reckless abandon! It legit doesn’t matter. Also don’t ever hesitate to drop a book if you’re not vibing it’s not worth it. Time is precious life is precious you’re doing this for fun, yes? Drop the book if you can’t bring yourself to care theres sooooo many more where it came from! Be merciless and picky!! It will pay off I promise, and to be that way is not antithetical to challenging yourself or stepping outside of your comfort zone unless you make it that way.

📖 buddy read/have an impromptu book club w/ someone. It doesn’t have to be official, and I’ve done this multiple times with people and sometimes we just don’t finish the book/meet our set goals and that’s a-okay! It’s still worth it to have someone to talk abt the book w/ and you guys can always pick up where you left off or try another book. Literally no stakes at all as long as everyone involved is chill and understanding <3

📖 set a reading goal you think you can manage by the end of the year! You might surprise yourself 😳 and if you don’t oh well! You’ll still have read at least a page in pursuit of said goal 🔎

📖 read short stories! The internet is full of them, and short story collections by multiple and singular authors are everywhere 📚

📖 do some searching and make a list of books that you’re extremely excited to read or really wanna revisit. And then pick your next reads from there! If you want recs for books or short stories you can always shoot me another ask or look at my goodreads (or goodreads in general)

Fruits Basket Manga Review, ch (92-93)

That was painful & so well-written! This analysis will focus on kyokyo mainly & faintly on her effect on kyo. Although, her story affects tohru’s life immensely, I won’t analyze tohru’s part & will wait until it’s a tohru’s chapter to use the knowledge of kyoko’s past to better read tohru’s mind & understand her decisions! Can’t wait! after all, that’s why I’ve read the manga to begin with!

-Kyoko’s Atonement:  (the weight of words):

 Kyoko breaks down after she learns she’s expecting. Why? cuz she hurt her mom. The notion that “yeah my parents caused me emotional trauma & so I’mma hurt them as well” is toxic & burdening as it starts a cycle of pain. Kyoko was right. She had no idea how her mom felt seeing her rebel, or follow violence or hear her harsh words. I’m not cleansing the mom from guilt nor responsibility. I’m just saying since the mom’s pov is blocked from us, assuming shes similar to the dad is wrong. kyoko’s fear of being punished with a child similar to herself is genuine, realistic & refreshing to see expressed in anime! usually character like kyoko are cool & brave, but here she’s humanly weak & doubtful. LOVE IT!

Moreover, in furuba words weigh on ppl & have consequences. We see this with kyo. His dad destroyed him verbally with words “ not my fault, it’s yours” that kyo echoes back to yuki! meaning the consequences of the dad’s words cause harm to his wife, kyo & even yuki!. Kyo was tormented with his own words for long time & clung to them even more in order not to resort to suicide! “ not my fault, it’s the rat’s” . Words can crush you down so bad if you hear them from loved ones, & worse if you utter them back to other loved ones! here kyoko learned that just the mere thought of her future child echoing her words back to her would torment her to death! Excellent writing!

-Katsuya invented Furuba’s vision (Accepting weakness & moving on):

The teachings of kyoko & tohru were really katsuya’s after all. I’m fne with that. These teachings are the core of Furuba’s vision. He tells kyoko to accept that she’s weak, afraid & doubtful. it’s okay. But gives her tools to move on. Your kid isn’t you. They’re an individual person. As parents all we can do is give love/hugs (sth kyoko’s parents didnt do), listen to them (sth yuki’s parents didnt do) & if they do sth wrong will explain it & teach them well (sth kyo’s parents didn’t do, his wrong deed was being born a cat spirit & he was hated for it with no explanation, mom gave lots of “fake” love & escaped by death, dad became a raging monster). Accepting weakness & moving on is what the cursed sohmnas needed to do to heal & what tohru taught them. Off course, tohru herself struggled to follow her own teachings & that’s amazingly realistic!

-Kyoko’s guilt (punishment brings ease):

Kyoko wanted to be punished so harsh for her husband’s death. The gossip got to her. She failed him as a life’s companion. Taking care of our loved ones is a duty we carry with much love & care. Them slipping away is perceived as us failing by none than ourselves. The thing is, death comes with no warning at times. It was his time to leave. Accepting it or not, wont bring him back, but accepting it will help kyoko deal with pain while not accepting will cause more pain for her & tohru.

One of the most painful things abt grief is that it’s personal. Life continues around you. Only you feel it.  “didn’t the world end when katsuya died”. No kyoko. Only you died emotionally. Only him died physically. Kyo once said “ mom why didn’t you kill me instead”. A different reaction to grief, guilt & pain, but same conclusion: neither katsuya nor kyo’s mom are coming back no matter how much pain kyo or kyoko felt.

Kyoko found ease in emotional death, neglecting & refusing life, punishing herself for staying after him.

kyo found ease in rage & blaming others as he his father did, later he’ll escape to emotional & physical slow death “ cat cage/confinement”.

tohru... found ease in pretending "I’m okay” & her mom is alive.. but not physically.. emotionally, so she’ll ignore the truth & live only for her.

Didn’t I say grief is harsh, weird & very very personal. It’s hard to explain, deal with & heal. The mere words of consolation hurt cuz the grieving ones dont want to accept loved one are really gone. Her dad’s harsh words cemented the “emotional death” that kyoko felt. I’m not needed. neither katsuya. nor parents in general. depression. misery. sadness. emptiness.

-The tv show helped to trigger kyoko’s desire to “meet” katsuya. She has already reached the conclusion that she isnt needed. So, the tv show with their words of the deceased wanting you to be happy. triggered her into misinterpreting the words as to mean her death NOT fuel her to live in his memory as intended.

- “Loosing your way first before finding your answer” is okay & so human!:

Ironically..Tohru... was the person Kyoko was punishing NOT herself: By being emotionally dead, kyoko neglected her daughter. Her world shouldnt be just one person. There are others. Katsuya himself gave her a person to love. Tohru. Kyoko chose death & unintentionally set tohru into a world of loneliness 10 times harsher thsn what kyoko faced. Off course kyo’s story is more developed & complicated as he dealt with bigger issues than just tohru & his answer wasn't just loving tohru alone but also loving himself & choosing to live for them both: himself & tohru.

-Kyo’s guilt is a concussion thought eating him alive:

Part of why kyo’s story was one of the most human & complex is due him loosing his way first, failing, repeating mistakes “ I always though that hurting ppl was the only thing I was good at, after all, isnt that why mom died?” Kyo’s nightmare being a conscious effect of hearing tohru’s talk abt “ videos & memories of loved ones” is 1000 times stronger & more human than a cliche effect of seeing a “ hat” & to revive a a blocked memory... What the hell!! truly disgusting how the emotional weigh is reduced for stupid cliche drama !!!!!! ..

Anyway, kyo actively & consciously wanted punishment .He was sure that kyoko blamed him” I wont forgive you” can only mean what it literally means. The purpose of the nightmare is to cause kyo to seek “ emotional death” like kyoko & to loose his path more. It is meant to prepare kyo to refuse tohru even more. Therefore, the pay off at the climax will be better & stronger.

Reading kyo’s inner thoughts will never not be refreshing!!! Also, the slow burn is cooked on low , hot fire , so the pay off will be the most delicious there is!

Side Notes:

I’ve stated my feelings regarding the age gap between kyoko & katsuya in last chapter’s preview post. I’m done with it & won’t let it interfere with my analysis of kyoko nor tohru.

The idea of just being together as a fun hanging out activity without being bothered much of where reminds ms so much of kyo & tohru!! we see them being happy together in the anime in kazuma’s house, shigure’s rooftop, cooking pancake in the kitchen! I really like this domestic feel of romance! it contradicts the notion of expensive restaurant with the girl wearing a breathtaking dress to woo the guy for it to be utterly romantic as we see in movies, & other stories.

I cried watching tohru between her parents, how they acted & how loved she was! T_T. it reminded me of my niece How her dad’s death affected her! She was the apple of his eyes.. T_T.

Tohru is indeed a rice ball! her dad gave her a masculine name while tohru is so feminine! his reasoning is “finding salty taste in sweet things make the taste better & stronger, kinda giving it a hidden flavour”, the rice ball has a pickle inside it & it’s what makes the taste so savory & delicious!

Grandpa’s “ chance meetings could lead to variety of outcomes, good or bad” YES! kyo/tohru/yuki meeting each other by chance. Fiction make it look weird, but trust me, real life has those by dozens!

“ i wonder how lost you’ll be, how much time you’ll need to get your answer”. He will screw up so bad, kyoko! it will be so good! one of the best screw up’s I’ve seen! so painful for him & tohru & amazingly written!

Kyo’s nightmare being connected to him remembering/dreaming of kyoko’s story is bigger effect than opening the ep with it & having the cause be sth that happened last ep, a week ago... the effect is NOT the same.

Momiji is so cute!!! did his curse break here or not yet? he seemed as tall as tohru.

Writing tohru worried abt kyo after seeing him pale is the tohru I know!! Not that stupid girl who watches the guy she loves have a panic attach in se3, ep6, then goes in ep 7...” dahhhh.. Jeez.. I duno why kyo is sleeping until now.. better laugh & make cute rice cakes” giggle giggle...That scene got me so furious even when I first saw it!! THIS IS NOT TOHRU! tohru cried for a stupid story that haru told abt puppets!! she’ll forget the person she challenges herself for is sick?! ugh!

I love seeing yuki & kyo chill & cool around each other.

Kyoko being fully dependent on katsuya can be a factor in her grief, but I’ve seen cases where both partners are independent but still be completely broken after the others’ death. Grief isn’t logical at all & is extremely personal.

Sooooo whatya think of the new episodeee?

Oh it’s definitely my favorite episode of the series so far, i was having such a good time at every turn. I’m glad i went out of my way to avoid spoilers, cause i was glad to actually be surprised by some elements on first watch.

I think this had by far the best opening for an episode so far, we finally get back to the villians, we meet the coven heads, we get insight on belos’s plans-

and then belos gets constipated, which starts getting into the more character driven lore, which is the best part. You instantly can tell GG and Kiki have some bit of tension between them to be Belo’s favorite, though granted i wonder if hunter is the only one to know belos is cursed and actually just always insists to help belos with his fits to prevent others from seeing them.

Including kiki.

It’s honestly unclear how aware anyone is that belos is cursed, like him eating pailsmans is apparently not something he hides, but like....i feel him being cursed is something that people would know universally if it got out...so i’m left wondering if anyone knows besides hunter.

Regardless, belos turns into a goop monster with an angry side, and i guess his mask doesn’t transform with him compared to the rest of his body so he breaks it again because i guess he goes though masks like crazy.

Hunter turns away in this scene from his outburst and even though he’s masked here i can already tell he’s most likely pained in these scenes. Like he’s probably seen this happen so many times, and i can’t imagine it gets any easier for him, it’s probably awful to watch belos suffer like this for him (Regardless of the abuse)

And to be honest, it seems pretty painful for him, i think this ep seems to at least confirm whatever this thing is that takes over belos’s body.....belos never actually wanted it in the first place. 

Yeah so after Hunter tells belos there’s not enough trees to medicate him anymore, we’re hit with the “UNCLE”. Which, when i first watched it i needed a second to even process the fact they confirmed their relation.

and i was like “CLOSE ENOUGH”, not his kid but uncle still works just fine for me, i’m just happy my assumption they were related actually came to ahead.

And i rewatched this episode a few times, and on second watch i realized more what happened in this scene. Hunter was talking about his interest in wild magic, and making more pailsman to help belos, and some method that could heal him and as soon as belos looked at him he instantly shut down.

He was clearly rambling about wild magic cures for belos because of his interest in it, and then suddenly remembered his uncle hates wild magic and felt super awkward.

It seems highly likely his interest in wild magic came from trying to cure belos and spending a lot of time reading up on the stuff. 

And then we get hit with the whole “Our family is dead because of wild magic” line, which.....i’m curious to know what happened there. But it does at least explain why belos feels how he does, if wild magic both killed his family beside hunter AND cursed him in the first place. We’re just gonna need more info on what exactly happened.

Also while Belos is def abusive and does not treat hunter how he should, this scene actually does read off to me like belos does care about hunter to some degree. If belos is cursed and his curse works in similar ways to how Eda’s curse works, then it’s worth reminding ppl that eda mentions early this season how stress can amplify the curse even more.

And sure enough, belos goes goopy on hunter’s shoulder all of a sudden when he grasps him. Which could be considered a sign of stress and that the idea of hunter dying or being in danger actually does stress him.

You could very much also assume this is just due to his curse not being fully handled and just getting worse, or that belos only cares about hunter for selfish reasons....but i’m not taking anything off the table here.

Belos can still be a shitty uncle, and still care about hunter, these aren’t mutually exclusive traits. But we need more episodes for now on this.

But anyways he asks hunter if he can rely on him, kiki is pissed......and we move on.

So i’m glad luz’s impulsiveness is addressed a ton in this episode, they actually bring up a lot of good points. That luz has no plan, that the time she’s spending here might render moot if she goes back to earth, ect ect.

Hunter even calls her out a lot later for not thinking things through, it’s a whole deal in this episode. I’m glad it was brought up cause it’s actually worth asking a lot of these things.

the set up here works, they actually made a good reason for why a pailsman didn’t bond with her. Speaking of which the adoption thing is cute and i love it, it’s a great idea. The designs are all very cute and fun.

Bump face reveal was a lot for me to process, but i find the idea of his pailsman being a pet that can help with his disabilities a good idea.

Also like, i did find it odd that they got staffs so early because we’ve never seen kids their ages with them before, but i guess it’s a new tradition? Does everyone at hexside now have one?

Honesty not sure why batqueen left the nest there overnight, i meant i guess she assumed they were safe with that shield but in context i dunno why she didn’t take them home after the school day was over.

but whatever, luz stays there overnight hoping  a pailsman will bond with her and GG just kidnapps them cause of pure luck on his part a bunch of pailsman were in a vulnerable spot tonight.

So GG continues to be charming, by whistling the theme song and then being blasted off his ship hilariously, before cockily teleporting himself right back on it seconds later. Like he and luz have great banter, he’s so extra like this it’s so funny, and god he’s so FAST with that staff it’s scary but so awesome.

Yeah so then hand dragon crashes them and i was so excited cause it meant face reveal. Poor dude looked so in pain and then we find out kiki tried to effing murder him because of course she did. But like, i think killing your boss’s nephew is the WORST way to get a promotion tbh.

(Also i got confused for a bit cause his mask has always been drawn as a mask, but now it’s a helmet in this scene for whatever reason but-)

Anyways, face reveal, Like honestly ppl weren’t too far off with their guesses, really the only thing people didn’t get was the tooth gap (That was fair tho, we couldn’t have guessed that). But it did make him even cuter.

like the banter is funny, he licks her hand, she slaps him, he looks SO pissed at her for this mess.

and i guess that outfit is his under armor apparently.

He’s lucky she didn’t run away immediately and followed him, but maybe he assumed she would since she had no where else to go.

Also his expressions in this ep are glorious, these had to be fun to draw.

Also we find out that the coven team members have never seen his face i guess? They just assume he’s a silly kid and are awful to him, so i guess he’s not only the youngest member of the coven but he never really shows his face much.

(”Call your parents”, ha ha.....whose gonna tell them who his uncle is?)

He is however, REALLY good at parkour and he’s fast even without his staff, so he’s well trained alright.

And then they reveal he’s not magical and i was SO happy cause i was so sure something was up when he wasn’t doing magic like the other witches despite his pointy ears. So they outright confirmed what i thought.

Hunter is pretty smart tho, like he can tell luz wouldn’t hurt him and wouldn’t flee so he knows he has the high ground here. Like he might be being a bit of a dick, but to be fair luz has been nothing but a dick to him throughout the whole episode (Everyone in this episode has been a dick to him tbh)

They team up and i get excited cause i love this kinda stuff and it gets more wholesome because hunter is super interested in her magic, he thinks it’s cool and you can tell how much he actually loves wild magic but then again...shuts himself down because of belos making him fear the stuff.

An then because luz asks, he tells her his backstory.

honestly with how this world treats people who aren’t magically powerful, living and growing up in a world that would find you useless sounds....awful. Hunter must be an anomaly around here, human blood or not.

Luz coming here to learn is different then growing up in a world and being the only one with no abilities and no future without them. Belos provides him with magic and a future, it’s no wonder he stays with him despite everything.

the whole “Found me” thing is weird, cause belos implies they’re blood related and hunter makes it sound like belos semi-adopted him. Which....if he did i dunno why “Uncle” and not “Adopted dad”, but ok....guess that’s for later.

Apparently hunter is important for something tho with the “Titan has big plans for me” thing, not sure what, but-

But yeah as soon as Hunter talked about wanting to make his own future and Rascal tried to land on him i knew EXACTLY where this was going, it was so cuteeeeee. The lil birb wanted to be with hunter, that’s so wholesome.

And he’s so terrified because of belos and what wild magic did to him, the poor bab.

But yeah, luz then trusts him with his staff back, because again....impulsive. But hunter does actually ask if she’s sure, so he might as well be asking if she trusts him.

The plan goes ahead, and hunter nearly betrays her.

though granted, hunter never promised her he’d stop and let her take them away, the truce was supposed to last till kiki was stopped and they were gonna fight out who got the pailsman. But it does bother luz cause she was hopeful he was better then this.

But just like he did before, she calls him out and he doesn’t betray her, because he’s ALSO too nice to do it, just like he said she was. He says his name (Which also took a moment to process), and then beats the crap out of kiki while letting luz get away and protecting her like a badass.

He might not have magic, but he’s good at fighting

like he can easily teleport to luz and take the pailsman, but he doesn’t, he lets them get away and luz knows this. Even though she also knows hunter has to go back to the emperor too and they have to separate.

It’s only slightly bitter terms, because in the end he came through for her and she knows it.

honestly, the worst part is i can’t even be mad at hunter for it, i’m sure he was terrified to fail belos. Both because he loves him and doesn’t want him to suffer....but also because of well...being punished. Really says something when his near betrayal doesn’t even make me mad at him, and i can understand why he nearly did it.

He let her go, knowing he’d be in SERIOUS trouble and that it would hurt someone he actually loves, so....ouch.

so yeah at this point i knew rascal wanted him so it was only of matter of what happened next.

Which was, luz getting the wood, which i like more anyway. Eda and King doing this offscreen and coming home like this is actually very funny, and honestly i appreciate the message of it being ok to wait.....means a lot to me.

yeah so belos is like...being an ass, like the kid tried his hardest, you don’t need to hit him with the “Is this the thanks i get?”. He’s a kid and he’s trying to cure you you dick, give him a break he doesn’t remotely have to help you like this.

Also apparently belos has not even told hunter HOW this happened, like...dude. Hunter is trying to be entirely reasonable here and belos spikes at him, which does imply some physical abuse though the only reason hunter doesn’t get a new scar is because he moves.

but how he reacts implies this has happened before, he is bracing for impact and he flinches. It’s pretty sad tbh, especially since hunter loves him and belos’s respect means something to him.

Belos is such an idiot, like c’mon dude, hunter is trying to help you and you don’t listen to him you dick. Kid shouldn’t have to say sorry for anything he did nothing wrong, he was just trying to help.

Anyways, he gloats at kiki (So at the very least she knows what he looks like under the mask), which he deserves a chance to do anyway. So i guess he didn’t rat her out for trying to kill him, personally my guess why is blackmail.....he was gonna hold it over her head to keep her from doing it again and threaten to tell belos.

But kiki quickly tells he LET the pailsman get away since he was the one to fight her (Curse his cute loose hair strand). So i guess now they have dirt on each other, so that’s fun.

His room is adorable, though the med kit by the bed is concerning.

Rascal comes for him and it;s so cute....though you can tell hunter nearly hurts him on instinct because of force of habit, but it’s so cute how he cares and how the birb loves him and is his new staff.

it was well hinted to as well, it’s so subtle, but the bird being cheery, curious, and his constant habit of escaping boundaries was perfect for hunter. He represents what hunter wants to be and why they got matched is done so well, all without explaining anything.

Hunter indirectly stated his deepest wish, to make his own choices, and rascal resonated with that. 

can’t wait to see where this goes.
