So there's a short of TBGO where Branch is upset and Poppy asks him what's wrong and he says there's a swing dance coming up and he doesn't have a partner.

And of course Poppy offers to be his partner but Branch is like "I have to lead." And Poppy stares at him and says "But the Queen always leads."

And this little random piece of lore has been running around in my head all morning. Even though I'm putting way too much thought into an offhand piece of dialog.

She doesn't say it in, like, a proud way. Just matter-of-factly. And it makes sense, right? In a society with so much dancing, there has to be a strict hierarchy of who leads.

And normally Poppy is so willing to help any of her friends but apparently this cultural rule in the Trolls world is so firm that she actually organizes swing dance tryouts rather than give in and let Branch lead!?

But then in the end she does agree to share the lead with Branch, and they dance together! I'm eating this up right now. Something something Poppy willing to give up ages of Trolls tradition to help Branch something.

I met Miles Kane.

I met Miles Peter Kane.

He saw about 20 of us waiting outside the stage door in Zürich and seemed rather surprised as he lit his cigarette.

And still he was THE SWEETEST PERSON.

He signed my ticket. He took my letter and promised to read it. He hugged me for a pic.

He was so soft-spoken. SUCH a sweetheart.

I am not computing this. It just happened and he's so goddamn sweet and quiet and kind.

A teenager got him a turtle necklace she was also wearing and he asked her to put it on him right away - he seemed genuinely touched.

And then some muppet asked him about TLSP and Miles got really uncomfy and said "Uuhhhmmm yeah not for a while now. Maybe some day." LET THE MAN EXIST WITHOUT ALEX FFS!

When he was walking towards the taxi I said "Maybe you'll come to *my country* next time - *capital city* would love to have you!" And he got a big smile on his face and turned around and walked back to me and HUGGED ME REALLY TIGHTLY and said he'd love that. And that time I was actually bold enough to hug him back.

I cannot stress enough how sweet he is.

I’m so obsessed with visual calculus as a skill I need to rant about it!!!!

The game description of the skill is “Reconstruct crime scenes. Make laws of physics work for the Law.” And it’s “Cool for: Forensics Scientists, Tactical Fighters, Math-Minded People”

But it’s not just math!! It’s not even a lot of math at all!! Its about seeing the near past and the near future through the physical the rational and the tangible!!! I like shivers and inland empire as much as the next de fan but, there’s just something SO COOL about seeing successful viscalc checks highlight the environment around you in a way that is unique to any other skill. I really wish there were more of those moments in the game

Viscalc can tell you about the crime you committed before you woke up and the crime you are there to investigate and the crime that would be committed in a moment during the tribunal. It is the MOST FOUNDATIONAL layer of abstraction that Harry’s brain puts on reality. It is the only skill that speaks FROM THE TANGIBLE WORLD, but ABOUT HYPOTHETICALS. It is the skill that connects the baseless intuition of inland empire/shivers and the contextless empiricism of encyclopedia/perception. I just. AUGH!
