i hate it too but I genuinely feel like Juliette asked to be written off, like, she had some issues with some storyline stuff season 1 (supposedly) and now she's always talking about making movies

i've honestly gone back and forth on this a million times recently. currently i'm in the "it was maybe mutual to an extent" camp. i'm going to wildly speculate (with some kernels of proof) that she was upset with s1, tried to work with the writers before s2 (she had that tweet about nat being manipulative in s2 and seemed excited), talks broke down, and they decided to kill her off.

in the end who fucking knows. if juliette did want to leave (and honestly, i'm so happy for her, the end of this season has been a MESS), they still didn't need to write nat's death the way they did. nat did not need to die unless that was the narrative they wanted to give us.

as for the movies, i do think (regardless of s2 speculation) she was very upset with how s1 went, so i get why she would be wary of tv after that. but i do also think, if it wasn't her choice, that she would still be focusing on movies and music (because what good would it do her to ruminate on a show she was forced to leave?), you know?
