This is insane. This is actually insane. If anyone had told me this could be a thing in September I would have called them a tinhat.
I've been tracking down I/P conflict recs lists and downloading as many books and articles in them as I can find. Tracked down both Leila Khaled's autobiography and her biography by Sarah Irving on LibGen as well. All of them have been uploaded to my gdrive. You can find it in the Poetry and Literature subfolder in the Palestine section. Go nuts.
Btw there's a site called "Accountability Archive" (@archivegenocide on twitter) promoting itself in the wake of all this; it's pretty sus and seems to be one of those SJ "activist" groups that exploit Global South trauma and exclude their voices. Do background checks on all your allies, folks, and look at whether they're boosting impacted communities or talking over them.

So, is the clock what official determines whether or not a God Tier player's death is just or heroic, or is it simply something that shows the outcome, much like a regular clock simply tells time, and does not hold any actually bearing on time?
The story provides no conclusive answer to this, and I personally cannot provide the scoop either. Not that I am withholding it to be coy, but to take my word for it one way or another would be missing the point. The destruction of the clock is another element among many for you to weigh when considering these events. First, there's the consideration of whether her death was just, heroic, or neither. The clock appeared to be leaning toward "just", when it was interrupted by the crowbar. Maybe it would have landed there. Or if given the chance, maybe it would have swung back and settled somewhere else. We don't have a definitive ruling. All we know for sure is she's dead. So we can conclude that either: 1) The clock itself has no bearing on her life directly, much as clocks merely measure time without influencing it. Which would mean if given the chance it definitely would have landed on either just or heroic, but not in the middle. The proof is her death. or 2) The result of the clock does have direct bearing on her life, and by knocking the clock over so that it stuck on "just", Slick inadvertently killed her for good, regardless of where it may have landed. But to be fair, if he knew it was going to kill her, he might be hitting it harder. You could consider it delayed revenge for his exile, which Vriska and Snowman coordinated. It's safe to assume Slick would have found her death to be quite just, and may have been weighing in on the matter through circumstantial serendipity. If 2) is true, there is another wrinkle to consider. Recall that the crowbar he is using (from the intermission) has the property of being able to nullify the effect of whatever "enchanted" object it destroys. If the clock's power is to decide whether she resurrects, then by destroying it, he eliminates that power. Since there's no longer a force enabling her to resurrect, she remains dead. This is another way to look at it, but again, only if the clock itself has that power over her life. If not, then the destruction of the clock becomes more a violent gesture of punctuation to accompany this "divine ruling", like nails being driven into a coffin. Or, like a tolling bell. It's jarring, sudden, and carries finality. If you are convinced her actions are what decided her death, and not the destruction of the clock, then you are left to consider what outcome is most suitable, without having an absolute ruling on it. The clock did appear to lean "just" an instant before, and there are plenty of ways to argue in favor of a just death. There are many mitigating factors as well to supply a counter argument. It would not be that interesting if it were absolutely unambiguous, where everyone could all easily agree that her death was just. Or if everyone agreed there was no justice in it at all. There are enough factors in play where you have reason to think about it a bit, and such that it leaves plenty to discuss. You may consider the evidence and draw a conclusion. You may even feel very strongly about your conclusion! But for either the story, or me, to provide a categorically "right answer", immediately following the establishment of all the things that made it interesting to consider, shortchanges all that, I believe. For the clock to settle unceremoniously on "just" I feel would come across as a nonconstructive, compact ethical lecture, quickly nullifying all there was to evaluate and talk about. Was this comeuppance for all her past killing? For killing friends like Aradia and Tavros? Was there mitigation in her upbringing? In her remorse, and desire to change? Was it justice for insisting on playing a role in the creation of Jack so that she could beat him, to serve her ego? What of the ignored warning from Terezi? Flying off in spite of it, endangering them all, again in service of ego? What of the doomed timeline she creates by doing this? Is there justice alone in killing her to prevent not only the death of all her friends, but an offshoot reality that can only fail? Is human morality in play here? Troll morality?? Or is it a higher agency, like that permeating Skaia? In a framework of Skaian morality, is there justice in sacrificing one life to help ensure the creation of an entire universe? This paragraph has been a thumbnail sketch of all the discussion which has already taken place across the internet, minus all the notes ranging from fan fervor to outright dementia. Of all the arguments to make, it's difficult to come up with a solid rationale for a heroic result. Most people debating it would choose between "just" or "not just", i.e. die or live. Note that this means those who believe her death was not just are in fact arguing that the destruction of the clock is actually what killed her!!! There is nothing in the story which rules this out. Regardless, the result is the same. She's dead. Out of the story for good? Who knows. For now it's the culmination of a wide arc importing elements from classic tragedy. Blind seers, wanton hubris, unheeded warnings, regret and death. But with some MSPA twists. Systematized mortality conditions, doomed timeline offshoots, way too much dramatic irony, and Nic Cage. She was always a polarizing character. Shouldn't be too surprising she's more polarizing than ever in death. It's almost as if that polarity was given concrete expression through the rules dictating whether she lived or died. HM. :::;)

It’s true that Emily complained about house chores. But she did find baking an enjoyable task. 🍞 She would’ve learned from her mother and their maid. She was constantly found in the kitchen. Before getting a maid, she helped bake and cook. When help arrived, she still liked being in the kitchen. She’d write poetry there and have chats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Long before her reclusive time at home... Emily would be even seen joining public events. She’d compete at the “Amherst Cattle Show” in 1856. Her round loaf of “Indian and Rye” won second prize. Then again her sister was one of the judges!  😅

Emily boasts her father prefers her bread the most. That he wouldn’t want other breads but Emily’s. In her thirties she likely baked more and more. Was the time she started being rarely seen by people. She was known to bake for the children. From her window she would lower the basket below. Filled it with mostly, her gingerbread creations.

Besides sending letters, poems and flowers. She also loved sending baked goods and recipes. Below is one of her letters to Sue Gilbert. 💕

So. I ended up making a lot of notes when reading Act 1. Let’s not beat around the bush, a lot of my thoughts are not focused on Act 1. This kinda ballooned to HS in general. Reading through it kept reminding me of other things, things that would appear later, things that would be dropped. Influences from other works, the foreshadowing, the retcons, the Retcon Powers retcons, things I somewhat knew that were planned then changes and I just. Kept going on and on in my notes and had to get myself to just write one line comments to expand on. And this is only Act 1. 250ish pages. And look, even me talking about my note taking is going on and on.
Okay, obviously I’m going to add a cut. If anyone remembers my Jem Reviews from a few years ago (or my LiS essays) you know I’m a bit of a windbag and will go on forever about a thing. But, one last comment before the cut.
I decided to use the Unofficial Homestuck Collection’s Replay Reading mode instead of Archival reading mode. Archival Mode would be like how you’d read it on Viz’s site, whereas Replay mode replicates what it would have been like to read it live. For me, that’s important. The comic has a different feel reading it live. I suppose in retrospect it's minor, I’m not limiting myself to a schedule based on upload time so I will miss out on waiting for an upload and being surprised about the number of pages like back in the day. Plus the pauses. Huss had said the comic was always meant for archival reading but seeing how things in past pages get changed because of future actions not yet decided at the time of their instead of seeing them just laying around is. I dunno. More appealing to me? No being spoiled about password pages or random arms or oil. It changes the experience, it changes the comic.
Also expect more long meandering sentences that have trouble getting to the point below the cut. Spoilers for most of Homestuck. Also i didnt really review this or edit this after the fact. Double also i cant guarantee the accuracy of my memory of some things.
I struggled a bit trying to decide how I wanted to organize the reread posts. Make sections? Highlight specific things? General impressions?
**I decided to go through my notes chronologically and expand on things that need it. For the most part, these are my notes as I read the pages. Maybe I’ll move stuff around to logical places i dunno
As I started the comic I remembered that Huss once said they pretty much have the entire comic in their head at all times. That's a lot. I guess that's what helped them with the callbacks and references to things. I wonder how much was influenced by the forum. My influence was small, being mostly in the Vriska Quarantine threads, with a little activity in general chat and IDE (which was never an acronym. It was a misspelling.). But it does make me wonder how Huss was able to tie so much together. Did a HS bible eventually get made? Was it given to the people making the post canon content? WAs Huss lying about not having extensive notes or their own notebook about the comic? Does it matter in the grand scheme of things?
I miss the forums. I want an annotated homestuck pointing at things that were influenced by it. Heck maybe it is in this archive and i just haven't gotten to it yet. That would be cool.
So we begin the comic on April 13th. A completely arbitrary date with no meaning. It just happens to be the date Huss started the comic after the Beta proved untenable. Could have been May. Could have been April 11. It's just a number.
More importantly, we start the comic off with naming our hero with a reference to TSO, Zoosmells.  Because it is early in the comic, we are still having commands come from the readers. Based on just the newsposts up until the end of Act 1, user commands are still broadly accepted and implemented. So with user commands we get Zoosmell, we get John Egbert, we get memeic things like retrieve arms, and we also move a cake for John? Did that ever get addressed? I’m pretty sure we, the MSPA readers, are shown and referenced multiple times, but was it outright stated we were the floating cursor hand?
This is also where we get our first introduction page and the first hint about the amount of text that will be in this work. Homestuck can switch between wordy, verbose captions that evoke different emotions and thoughts and can all be a simple acknowledgement that John wants to shit on a desk.
But more than just showing us a lot of words, it gives us a quick rundown of our character. We get a vague enough sense of them to know how they'd initially react to things and their initial interests. For a comic you expect to be not as long, you want to get all the info out there as soon as possible. As a game parody, you want the player to know enough to get into the role. I think it’s also a self assessment of sorts? By the character? But yeah, quick way to know the character, well down and all we need at the moment.
After this bit and some memeic commands we get introduced to the other major player in Act 1, the SYLLADEX er, Sylladex. All Caps was a thing in early gaming. The sylladex and CAPTCHALOGUEing and Fetch Modus stuff is a shotgun blast of reference to how all these different games have all these different ways to grab/use items and somewhat on how commands are inputted. The fact that it's complicated is the point. The abstraction of picking up items, especially items much too heavy to carry, is played with a lot here. John is told to use or put down an item and is confused. It is fun and silly. Plus, it shows how big of a nerd (affectionate) huss is about programming and programming languages.
Hey why do john use nails for poster?
So in John’s room we get some things that, at the time, are not important. They are cute little things that don’t mean anything right now. They are not planned to mean anything. They are not given any importance outside of HaHa. The comic has a lot of these and Hussie’s writing style, keeping everything in their head all at once, and wooden square hole into steel triskaidecagon peg attitude makes them the most important things in the comics.
For real, several times I wrote in my notes ““This is a throwaway line. It isn’t important. It comes back later and affects the plot in a major way. It’s impact minimal and probably didn’t have to come back
Nothing is more important than this throwaway line”.
It keeps hapenin bro.
When the comic was updating and I was reading it live, I came up with a term I used to describe these things. Chekov’s Macguffin. Now wait, I hear you mutter, that doesn't make sense. It doesn’t. Anyways Checkov’s Macguffin. You have these retconned foreshadows that in retrospect are important but don’t add or remove anything to the comic by their inclusion or removal. Huss had said they had a few things in mind when starting the comic but like, so much is added on a whim or due to fandom influence. Things that in the moment you go “oooooh, he killed everyone because Huss was poking fun at people wanting to see hero mode” but reading archivaly you go “wait odd i guess I see where this comes from?” and then even later you go “oh here is the reasoning explained.” I’m rambling here because it's hard to describe. As far as i know, not much of this comic was plotted out beforehand. Everything was shoved into place in ways that make sense sorta but eh? I dunno? Chekov’s Macguffin. It makes no sense. It makes all the sense. Every unimportant thing is critical and the most important thing.
So here is a quick shot of things in Act 1 I remember coming back.
Little Monsters poster: Foreshadows Trolls look. At this point the trolls aren’t literal trolls so this is more about John being a huge dork. Also maybe secret dream world. Oh and apple juice.
CON-AIR: Man i dunno how to even start with this. Bunny in this Act for sure. Deep Impact - forshadowing or just a dumb refference that got exanded into stardom? (hint i think huss later says its planned foreshadowing) Failure to Launch poster: Pokes fun at the beta being cannned for the comic as we know it. Also about a dude Stuck at Home (sorta.) (oh and i guess all the shipping shit that came later i dunno) Face-Off: referencing having two selves / someone with your face who isn’t you (maybe the guardian swap? I think huss said that was planned from the start too) throwable bit - apple juice: it’s here because of the little monster. Also, need for some Dave stuff. throwaway line - book that could kill a cat if you dropped it: It does. voice controlling you line: a fun game mechanic point fun at and also a future plot point. Betty Crocker: Mentioned only because of maker of cake mix. Graduates into high importance.
Sacred Urn: probably meant as a cheeky PS callback that could be used later by the players? Peanut Allergy: i'm like 97% sure this was only ever a cheeky joke but Pesterchum handles: They are DNA code thing except John. I don’t remember if this was intentional or just happened. I wanna lean on No. In-universe mspa midnight crew: a Shout Out to the donations. I don’t remember when but a MSPA Forum Adventure had the Midnight Crew and got a shout out in the intermission (i think thats when it was). It was removed later, I think when it hit the books or the Viz site? I hope the Unofficial Archive has all that info there are no throwaway bits. everything is important. everything can be thrown away. nothing has permanence or importance.
Another side of this would be foreshadowing meant more as rugpull. Like the TYPHEUS browser being mentioned specifically, priming the user to look for Rose’s browser without having to be told. We put importance on this because the comic does, I believe moreso in Act 2. But, it ultimately isn’t. In what would be considered a normal game Sburb yeah, this would be something neat to indicate what the heroes would deal with. While there is something to it, it won't be the way we think.
Hey you know what also fits this theme? Cosmic Number. The comic started on 4:13. John logs on at 4:13. The countdown starts at 4:13. The open wifi is 413. It keeps hapening bro. While there was the 413 references before the countdown, for me the timer is where it became a Cosmic Number within the comic. After this we are meant to look for more of the reference and think about what it could mean. We would also get 612, 1025, and 11 11 11. There are many times when events coincidentally correspond with those numbers. The length of an act, the length of a pause, 4 kids age 13, 12 trolls age 6, a event happening on a day and Huss saying “didnt plan it, still cool tho”. It keeps happening, bro.
Let's go back to pretending I’m covering things chronologically and not as things happen to come to mind, ya?
John’s computer shows us their ghost obsession with the homemade slimer background, and we also realize John has a fake slimer ghost shirt. We also see hints about some programming languages the kids use. ^cake ( carrot cake) and ~ath (til death). ~ath will come back but I don’t think ^cake would. Most importantly, the ChatPesterLogs.
The bulk of the writing for the majority of the comic is done through these logs. Direct person to person communication is not done through abstract like in the previous adventures, it is text. Instant Messaging txt. Throughout the Pesterlogs we learn about our other players and their preferred typing colors. You get a decent feel for each of them, except maybe Jade. Dave will go off and start rambling about a subject, trying to be cool and funny and likes things only ironically. Rose is kinda spooky and proper and also kinda rambles about things, but uses more and longer words than Dave. The other things we learn in the Pesterlogs in Act 1 is a little bit of family stuff, where Rose seems to have a little resentment about Dad and John not seeming to appearacite genuine family love, whereas John seems to feel a bit smothered. Bro we don’t know as much about.
Oh yeah, I know, I remember that some people talked about how they or friends only read the captions and never opened the logs or watched the flashs. That must be so confusing, but they said it's still readable. I dunno about all that tho.
Sometimes the colors can clash and make it hard to read. I remember peeps talking about that as well.
Speaking of the other kids, let's take a moment to talk about the Bunny. How do I live without you, I want to know. This one of the things Huss did have an idea in mind before starting, it was intentional that the bunny would travel between all of the kids and make its way back to John. This tells us that at the very left least, Weird Time Shit had been a consideration from the very start. Was the non-standard game always a thing? I suppose so, since Guardian Swap was always planned as well. It’s hard to say with Huss.
After the rest of the home shenanigans, prankster strifes, and data managements, we finally get Sburb Client and Server installed. Suburban Jungle plays as a lot of things get loaded in by the game. Most importantly, we have a new controller and new cursor. This also marks the change from mostly Adventure Game parody to add Building Sim to the mix. We get some fun stuff with Rose expanding the house, playing with the toilet, and the great moment of “tell me you can see me. Tell me what is wrong with this picture”. Along with that we get a bunch of highly specific items that’ll be used later for fun stuff. I enjoy the jokes and gags Huss puts in here. I know Act 1 drags for some people but much like JJBA, I think it’s worth going through all the parts.
Let’s finish this off by saying I genuinely enjoy Huss’s writing and Huss’s turn of phrase. There is something delightful in how they arrange phrases. It creates a lot of evocative imagery and makes things feel bigger than they are. It’s pleasant.
I think future retrospect posts may be more summary and recap than this one. I had a lot more HS thoughts in my head than I thought I would. I can’t say this won’t end up being a lie but I feel like that until maybe act 4, things will be more about the contents of the act than jumping off points for rambles.

Wedding
Language: English
Arthur paced slightly as servants bought in the bathing water, Merlin would return soon and Arthur truly hoped that it would go better today.
He wants to be with Merlin fully if he would have him, that means he needs to get used to the touched without wanting to faint.
He had already eaten a small bowl of gruel and at least it didn’t felt like he was going to puke it up. He scratched slightly at his arms.  He was still nervous, he never had seen Merlin without clothing on or just in small clothes.
Arthur almost jumped when the door closed behind him, showing that the last servant was out. He took a deep breath, he was safe here. Merlin won’t hurt him, he had shown it time and again.
When Merlin arrived was the water at the right temperature, it would stay warm with the fire going next to it.
Merlin easily walked over to Arthur, just looking him deep in the eyes. “How would you like to do this darling?” Merlin pressed a kiss onto Arthur’s head. It was a busy day for both, with the wedding around the corner.
“Can we try with just our small clothes on please?” Arthur was red in the face again.
“Of course.” Merlin gave him a small smile, he would do anything to help Arthur. He gently squeezes Arthur’s shoulder.
“Remember if you want to stop, just say it.” Merlin gave Arthur a stern look when they had talked the previous night Arthur had to admit that he would have forced himself past his comfort zone.
With a nod from Arthur, both turned around taking off their clothes. Merlin was the first one to get into the bath, just waiting for Arthur.
Merlin could see a slight trembling in Arthur’s hands, but there was a look of determination coming from him, that kept Merlin quiet.
Arthur forced himself to breath, he is safe. The water was warm against his skin and the extra heat coming from Merlin made him blush. This was nicer than he would have expected. Merlin touched was soft and kept to his arms for the moment.
After a few minutes, Merlin gently pulled Arthur closer to him. He allowed Arthur the time to get used to the contact when he felt him relax against him, he placed a kiss on Arthur’s head.
Arthur felt save and loved. Merlin kept to places that wouldn’t trigger Arthur, even though at one point or another the boundaries would have to be pushed again.
Merlin kept his hand on Arthur’s back, as Arthur was curled into his shoulder. “May I kiss you?” Merlin’s voice was soft.
For a moment it was silent before Arthur nodded. “Yes.” He remembered that Merlin wanted him to be verbal on answers. There were no hesitations in his voice.
His eyes were bright and for a moment Merlin couldn’t help but think that he had found an angel as an omega.
Merlin moved forward slightly, his face centimetres away from Arthur’s. Giving him the change to move away if he would want it.
Arthur closed the space between them. Merlin’s lips were slightly chapped but warm and soft against his.
There was no used of tongue, or teeth clacking together. The kiss was chasted but long and filled with a longing Arthur wished he had the answer too.
The days passed in such a whirlwind that Arthur didn’t have the time to worry about the upcoming marriage.
In the evenings they would bath together slowly processing from just small clothes to completely nude. The kisses between them would get more, and for the most part, Arthur could ignore the fact that his father is coming.
The day of the wedding was a big affair, even if it was just the kingdom celebration. Arthur had quickly learned that Merlin was loved by the whole kingdom. That almost ever one that was close to the castle knows Merlin personally.
He could admit to himself that he was slightly scared, he was scared of what would come, but for the moment he just wants to enjoy the time they would have together.
Arthur was deep in thought as the seamstress made a small adjustment to the clothes he would wear in the afternoon.
Merlin stood in his room, just as deep in thought, something was screaming at him. Soon something was going to happen, and it involved Arthur. He took a breath, with a conscious thought he made his way to the knights quarters.
When he stood in front of Gwain, he knew he would make the right choice.
“Gwain, I have a bad feeling that something is going to happen soon. I want you and Borne guarding Arthur in shifts please.” Something was pleading in Merlin’s voice, that made Gwain bow. No teasing or jokes.
He could feel how worried Merlin was.
“Of course Sire. I will go and talk to Borne now. One of us will be with Arthur full time.” Gwaine gave Merlin a worried look before he hurried off.
Merlin pressed the bridge of his nose, he hoped that the feeling would go away soon. It was his wedding day after all. He wants to make sure Arthur has the day he deserves.
Merlin was silent as he made his way back to his chambers to get dressed. There was finally some sense of calm in his heart.
When the wedding started Merlin couldn’t keep his eyes off Arthur, the shimmering rose pink he was dressed in, complemented his eyes.
The druid was an old man, giving ceremonies at many weddings, he knew what ritual they wanted. He chanted quietly as he tied the twine around there hands. For a moment it was just the two of them.
With a loud voice, the man asked Arthur:
“Do you promise to submit to your alpha? Do you promise to love and cherish the bond between you two? “
Arthur’s voice was slightly shaky as he said yes.
The man then turned to Merlin. Arthur didn’t know that Merlin had added something to the promise.
“Do you promise to protect, cherish and love your omega with your whole soul? Do you promise to try and make sure that no harm would ever befall him?”
Merlin’s voice was firm as he answered. “Yes.”
“Now take a sip of this wine.” The druid handed the chalet to Arthur.
The wine was warm and overly sweet on Arthur’s tongue, he managed to drink it without making a face before he handed it to Merlin.
Merlin didn’t even taste the wine, his eyes were trained on Arthur.
“Omega Arthur, you may now bite your mate.”
Arthur leaned forward as the druid chanted. He bitted down as hard as he could over Merlin’s scent gland, for a moment Arthur was sure that he would die, as the blood flowed his mouth, almost making him spit it out.
Merlin’s hand was warm against his back, and it grounded Arthur slightly as he gave a soft whimper.
“Alpha Merlin, you may bite your mate.” The druids' voice went louder.
Merlin’s teeth grazed Arthur’s scent gland he could feel him tensing up slightly. With a soft huss, Arthur relaxed again.
The bite made Arthur groan, his hand tightened around Merlin’s shirt.
“Merls.” There was a slight panic in Arthur’s voice as he suddenly felt dizzy, he could feel a cramp and then slick starting.
Merlin easily picked Arthur up. “Shh.” Merlin’s voice was low. The twinge disappeared into their skin.
Arthur forced himself to breath, to work through the panic. A natural heat happens every three to four months. It was normally painful and lonely. Now he was just scared of the pain.
He could smell Merlin’s pheromones around him, and it felt like he was drinking from a river after not having water for a few days.
His hands tightened against Merlin’s shoulder. He could hear people screaming with joy in the background.
When he came to his scenes again, where they in Merlin’s chambers. Well, he guesses it was their chambers now.
The clothes he had on felt too tight and hot, the desperation to be against Merlin frightened him. Another huss and he could feel Merlin’s hand running through his hair.
“Merlin…” Arthur trailed off. His face was hot and he could feel the slick spreading between his legs, making him feel ashamed.
“I have you, darling.” Merlin’s voice was soft, he knows that there is no real rhyme with heats and he could feel his own rut coming on.
But at the moment, he just wanted Arthur to calm down slightly. “Breath for me darling, you are safe.” Merlin just kept on running his hand through Arthur’s hair. With felt even smoother than normal.
Arthur pulled Merlin closer to him. Merlin gently kisses his neck, making Arthur moan and twitch slightly. When Merlin suddenly licked over the bonding mark, it felt like a jolt moved through Arthur and he jumped.
Merlin did it for a second time, he could smell the slick getting more. Arthur squirmed slightly under him and he immediately pulled away.
“You alright darling?” Merlin stayed still, waiting for an answer.
Arthur’s breathing was coming slightly faster, and his face and ears were red. “W-want you.” His voice sounded weak in his own ears.
“I’m here, you have my darling. I will take care of you.” Merlin pressed a chaste kiss to Arthur’s lips. When he pulled away, he started to help Arthur undress. Pressing kiss everywhere he could.
Arthur felt unsure about everything, but at the same time, was this so different from what he ever experienced. Merlin made him feel grounded and his scent was intoxicating.
Woods and water, the warmth were what Merlin smelt like. Arthur pressed his face near Merlin’s scent gland just taking in everything.
He squirmed slightly when Merlin’s hand touched his lower back, for a moment he froze up. Merlin pulled back.
“Are you okay?” Merlin was slightly breathless from kissing Arthur’s body.
“Ye-yeah, just fe-felt strange for a moment.” Arthur’s voice came out slightly broken. He reached up to Merlin again, pulling him back down onto him.
Merlin gave him another kiss, then one more on his nose and the other on the tip of his eyebrow. He just held Arthur for a few seconds, kissing his face.
His hand down Arthur’s back, stopping at his tailbone, for a moment, giving him a chance to get used to the feeling.
When he felt Arthur was completely lax, still squirming slightly, Merlin gently pushed his tights a little bit wider. Settling down between his legs.
Merlin kept a firm eye on Arthur’s reaction, even while his mind was screaming at him to claim his omega, that he needs to breed him.
Arthur’s eyes were wide as he watches Merlin, his breathing came out in little puffs. He jumped slightly when there was a finger against his hole.
Merlin didn’t push in, just traced the rim with the pad of his finger. After a while, Arthur started to pressed back onto the digit.
He let out a puff of air when Merlin curled his finger into him. He could feel another rush of slick soaking everything.
Merlin playing him like a fiddle, by the time a third finger was inside him, he could understand why Merlin told him it would be pleasurable. There was a spot inside him that Merlin kept on hitting with his fingers, making him moan.
When Merlin pulled his fingers out, giving him another kiss, he whined at the empty feeling.
Merlin gently took his legs, allowing him to fold them around his waist. He was gentle as he pushed into Arthur, it didn’t feel like he had stretched him at all. So he worked his way with pushing too much.
When he was finally inside Arthur, Merlin had to force himself to think of the nastiest shit he had seen, Arthur was warm and tight around him. He paused for a few moments giving Arthur time to get used to the feeling.
When Arthur finally nodded that he could move, he did just that.
Arthur clung to him, whimpering everyone once in a while, his voice low as he repeatedly said Merlin’s name.
When Merlin felt like he wouldn’t last much longer, he gently jerks Arthur off with the motions of his trusts.
Arthur spilled over his stomach and Merlin’s hand, he could feel Merlin’s knot growing inside him, making him groan and gave a last weak spurt.
Merlin came with a groan. He gave a last kiss to Arthur’s temple. Before he sank down behind Arthur, pulling him against his chest.
He closed his eyes as they cuddled together.
The heat lasted for another three days before they were able to leave the room.

Boston MA -- I'm playing my Hammond model A here, it had oiling dates going back to 1936 + 122, Charlie Petro set it up for me. I played this organ 7 nights a week at the Piccadilly on Washington St. Combat Zone Beantown with Lenny Nelson drums - the Sony recorder I bought at K&H in Watertown MA, it was the best portable recorder at the time - Jon Hammond
*NOTE: Jim Huss confirmed Mitch Gold was the buyer who came to pick it up for Keyboard Exchange International down in Florida - it had full under-key NEON lights and over the pedals - anyone seen my model A around?

MAD VIBRATIONS
(Come join me here; come join me here)
A Humming Ritual for Untrustworthy Narrators
Saturday 20 October 2018   7pm
School Without Center / District, Berlin
In the framework of: Dada is Black, duh!
With an opening and ending meditation, conceived by Negarra A. Kudumu Mad Vibrations: A Humming Ritual for Untrustworthy Narrators side-steps the cruelty of colonial modernity, and focuses on the radical, renegade voices of decolonial struggles who demand different realities for themselves through various forms of self-care and exchanges via diasporic and pan-african networks, connections, echoes and re-sonances.
These decolonial vibrations and voices found their waves and ways while experiencing prohibition and criminalization. By using improvised or coded language, dance, music or non-verbal communication, which was often read as inaudible, made from scratch, unreliable, inconsistent, mad and incomprehensible forms of exchanges between enslaved and colonial subjects people managed to move below the radar of the systems of slavery and colonialism. „Certain kinds of madness, deliberately going mad… in order to not loose your mind. These strategies of survival made the truly modern person. They’re a response to predatory western phenomena.” (Toni Morrison)
For this evening, sound and vibration, vibrating as well as listening, within and beyond the scope of what can be heard carefully and deciphered or lost within the quiet, the unruly and improvised forms of resonances will guide us through a patchwork of sonic, decolonial counter realities and their poetics and politics. Mad Vibrations is an invitation to dance, feel, sit, embody, mourn, moan, laugh, vibrate, improvise, shout and be quiet(ly) together.
Dada is black, duh!
opens a collaborative and performative space that will appear under different titles across the months of October and November 2018 at School Without Center / District and Archive Kabinett.
Dada is Black, duh!
is a collaboration between aproduction e.V., Archive Kabinett, School Without Center/District, the Institut for Contemporary Art Research/ZHdK and Arthur Boskamp Foundation initiated by Joerg Franzbecker, Suza Husse and Yvonne Wilhem/knowbotiq.

re: your internet archive post
first, thank you so much for sharing that drive! i have been looking for some of those books for weeks lol
but also, leila khaled's autobiography at least seems to be back up. it and the entire arabic language collection it's a part of are still marked as deemphasized for whatever reason, but at least that's something. maybe this is the result of some mass false flagging push or something of the sort screwing with whatever automatic systems they have?
the majority of actual palesteninan content seems to be untouched, and a quick click through of multiple pro-palestine books showed that none of them to be deemphasized. if they were deliberately trying to censor, it seems they'd start there and also maybe be a bit more subtle about it? i don't know! the whole thing is very strange, but it might not be *as* bad as it seems on first glance. hopefully.
Yes, I saw reply tweets saying the book was back up but only available through login or something? Either way, considering the open and rampant censorship in every corner of Anglo media right now, the possibility that occurred to me, like you said, is that Zionists might be mass flagging Palestinian literature.
It does reveal the danger in digital monopolies though, even ones that are reputable, open access and non-profit. Monopolies have been so normalized in the last 10-15 years that netizens have become conditioned to simply find a single good-enough choice and then abandon any motivation to create an alternative better tailored to us as individuals. It's rather glaring how irreplaceable we've made these platforms. Even with all the Muskrat's best efforts to delegitmize and destroy twitter, every international crisis has us coming back to it in droves because those networks have become simply vital and irreplaceable to giant swathes of the globe. These kind of dependencies really should scare us into creating alternative platforms and archives as well. Not necessarily to compete, but because resources are power, and diversity of resources is the devolution of power, and that's essential to protecting people's rights and freedoms. Concentration of resources is antithetical to communal power.
You're very welcome for the drive! I'm a pathological data hoarder and it's extremely satisfying when I have a reason to do it other than scratching a brain itch. I can't build websites but I can be part of an "I-know-a-guy-who-knows-a-guy" network. 😂

hussie formspring trivia 11/?
Alright, I'll admit it. I'm surprised by how Equius dies, so you did what you set out to do there. But funny as it was, I was also disappointed. Did you always want for him to have such a lame death?
Of course it was lame. Disappointing? I don't think so. More like suitable for everything we knew about the character. Which wasn't all that much. This was a character who was introduced with horse porn on his walls. His entire presence in the story was a gag. I think literally every conversation he had was centered around his obsession with the hierarchy, his perverse enjoyment in being bossed around by those under him, and his desire to be subjug(gl)ated by his only land dwelling superior. He mentioned he didn't think he could raise a hand to the highblood. When it came down to it, he couldn't, not even to save his life. Such was the extent of ridiculous submission fetish. He was devoted to the caste system to a fault, and he died for it. To be disappointed is to crave a more challenging or heroic death. Which I guess is fine. But to crave a scenario in which a more dynamic duel occurs and he rises as some sort of hero would be overestimating the relevance of an utterly marginal character, someone designed to be not much more than a really strange piece of an ensemble cast. What he contributed to that ensemble was, as I said, completely centered around a gag, and I stayed true to the gag to the bitter end. His death was as much a sight gag as his introduction. This effectively concludes his arc as a minor character. (OR DOES IT????) I think of the big picture, and like I say all the time, I consider how it reads straight through as opposed to dripped out tortuously for day to day analysis and second guessing. In the slow motion of present moment, the readers deal in countless WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IFs, but each of those is lacking broader vision. I'm the one keeping track of the big picture here, and if I happen to mention that Equius going out with a bigger bang would have been kind of dumb, like so many other things on people's wish lists, I guess you just gotta trust me!
So I think Equius was way more of an interesting and complex character than you realise. Yes, more than you, the author, realise. I find his death disappointing because I read heaps more into him then you deliberately put there. DEATH OF THE AUTHOR, BITCH
Oh ok I accidentally made him a complex character? WHOOPS!!! Every aspect of him was deliberate. I try to make even marginal characters as interesting as they can be with limited exposure given. But they're still marginal, and he was still fundamentally a gag character in spite of those complexities. I'm just sort of shaking my head here at anyone crestfallen TO THE MAX about Equius's failure to stake a heroic claim on Homestuck's already IMMENSE plot footprint. Like, seriously? With as big a thing as this story is, people are gonna hold a candle light vigil on my lawn for the GREAT SWAN SONG of the dude whose overwhelming gimmick was fetishistic submission? THERE ARE BIGGER FUCKING FISH TO FRY, PEOPLE. Time to get a grip.

Summary: After a particularly hard boom was Merlin out under the covers straight against Arthur. Arthur immediately wrapped his arms around Merlin, holding him until he calmed down slightly.
When Merlin was slightly more calmed Arthur pulled the blanket over them both, taking Merlin’s arm out under him.
Merlin pulled the cover tighter around his head, thunder boomed near the window making him shiver. He bit the inside of his lip.
He hated when the weather got like this. He could hear someone knocking at his door but at the moment he couldn’t bring himself to answer.
Gaius open the door when he saw that Merlin wasn’t out of bed he could only sigh. “Merlin, you are going to be late for work.” Gaius kept his voice gentle. He wasn’t surprised to see that Merlin was hiding in his bed.
“Th-the prat can look after himself.” His voice was muffled under the blanket.
“Come now Merlin, you complained just last night about the fact that Arthur had meetings today, you know he will need you,” Gaius said as he pulled the blanket off Merlin.
Merlin glared at Gaius but the strength of his glare was lost since his face was pale and there were dark circles under his eyes.
“Did you get any sleep last night?” Gaius lowered his voice slightly. He wanted to kick himself for not seeing how terrified Merlin was of thunder.
A glare to the floor told Gaius that the answer would be a no. Merlin could hear the sigh Gaius gave and then his footsteps leaving the room.
He knows that Gaius had a point, that he couldn’t just disappear from his work and Arthur would more than likely not tolerate the excuse that he was scared of thunder.
Gaius came back with a vial, the liquid was vile looking but it would hopefully help Merlin to keep calm through the day.
“Drink.” Gaius was firm when he handed it to Merlin.
Merlin drank it, he forced himself to swallow since everything in him screamed to spit it out.
“Now get ready for work.” Gaius squeezed Merlin’s shoulder. He could only hope that Arthur wouldn’t set Merlin to work somewhere where he would need to go outside.
After forcing himself to take a deep breath Merlin got ready for the day. He could feel the start of a spasm in his shoulders.
He jumped when the next thunder banged through the air. He could feel his heart pounding, his arm was starting to go numb and his mouth was dry.
Merlin rushed through the motions, his shoulders pulled up to his ears.
When Merlin finally made his way to Arthur’s chambers was he cold and scared. The castle was drafty and the storm was getting worse with each minute passing.
Magic made its way through Merlin’s body to help him steady the tray he was carrying. The last thing he needed today was to let the tray fall and have to go back to the kitchen.
Merlin pushed the door open, he was glad to see that Arthur was already awake, he didn’t think he could muster more than a ‘hi’ at the moment and even that seemed impossible.
Another crack made Merlin jumped. Arthur turned around to face his manservant just as the last sound faded away.
Before Merlin had a chance to take a breath, the next one-shot through, even louder than the previous.
Without thought, the tray fell to the floor as he covers his ears.
Arthur was silent for a moment before he carefully stepped over the food. His hands were warm around Merlin’s.
He was worried to see that Merlin was as pale as a ghost. Arthur felt something in him melt. He pulled Merlin against his chest.
Merlin was as tens as a wiring rod. “Merlin, are you alright?” Arthur’s voice was low. He could feel a shiver running down Merlin’s body.
When the thunder started again after a few seconds. Merlin tensed against Arthur.
“You are scared of thunder.” Arthur’s voice was soft. A small nodded against his chest made Arthur sigh softly. If Merlin had looked up at that moment he would have seen a soft look in Arthur’s eyes.
Without really thinking about it – he just picked Merlin up – all he knows is that Merlin is scared and there is something in him that wants to soothe it.
Merlin wrapped his legs easily around Arthur’s waist, his arms around his neck. The sent of forest fulled his nose and for a moment it felt like the fear was being pushed to the back of his mind when another cracked echo around the sky.
A small whimper he tried to repress slipped through. Arthur made a huss sound walking to the bed.
He could remember as a young child hiding under the covers, feeling like nothing would touch him when he is under there.
Arthur bit the inside of his lip. He knows that the meetings would more than likely be cancelled since some of the noblemen wouldn’t be able to get to the castle in this weather.
He easily put Merlin onto the bed before he threw the blankets over him, something inside him wanted to stay with Merlin.
Before he could think further was there a knock on the door. Arthur went to open it to a young servant girl. Her eyes were bright green gleaming with glee. She was dripping wet as if she had run through the rain.
“Yes?” Arthur kept his voice low.
“The King send word that today's meetings are cancelled.” Her voice was filled with happiness.
“Thank you.” Arthur gave her a small nod before he closed the door again, not seeing her giving a small curtsey.
Another clap of thunder brought his attention back to the fact that Merlin was in his bed. He could feel a slight blush forming on his cheeks.
His footsteps were quiet in the room as he walked back to the bed.
“Are you alright?” Arthur kept his voice soft.
The bundle on the bed didn’t respond and the last thing Arthur wanted to do was to pull the blanket back.
After a particularly hard boom was Merlin out under the covers straight against Arthur. Arthur immediately wrapped his arms around Merlin, holding him until he calmed down slightly.
When Merlin was slightly more calmed Arthur pulled the blanket over them both, taking Merlin’s arm out under him.
For a moment Merlin tensed up more before there was a slight warmth to his back from the blanket. He pressed his face closer to Arthur’s chest.
They stayed like that until the weather calmed down.
When Merlin finally managed to pull back from Arthur was his face bright red. “Sorry.” His `voice was low there was a hint of panic there.
“Nothing to be sorry about.” Arthur's voice was lulled with sleepiness.
His hand gently went to Merlin’s faces. His thumb gently traced Merlin’s cheek. He could feel the slight heat from Merlin.
Merlin could feel his face heating up even more. He didn’t expect this morning that Arthur would have noticed.
Merlin didn’t ask any more questions even though it felt like his mind was racing.
Arthur was lost in his thoughts. He didn’t understand where the sudden feelings bought on. He knows that they were there for a while but he had hope that he could suppress it.
He pulled Merlin back onto the bed when it looked like he wanted to get up.
“Can I ask you something?” Arthur’s voice was loud in the quietness of the room.
Merlin gave Arthur an unsure look before he nodded.
“What caused it?” His voice was soft and his one hand ran through Merlin’s hair.
The silence went on for a long moment before Merlin finally answered. “I was outside when a storm suddenly fell over the woods.
“I went to get flowers for mom, but I wasn’t back inside the house when the storm hit.” Merlin was silent for a moment.
“I should have listened to mom, but yeah. I was stuck in the woods while the storm for who knows how long. It was such a bad storm and then lighting struck a tree near where I was hiding.
“It caught fire. I thought that I would never see mom again that die.” Merlin trailed off. His eyes were slightly glassy.
Arthur pulled Merlin back into a hug just holding him, wishing he could case the memories away.

hussie formspring trivia 8/?
Were the trolls an element you had planned out from the beginning, or did you only come up with them later on in the story? They seem so integral at this point, despite their late introduction.
they were absolutely not even remotely planned from the beginning or anywhere close for that matter. wait let me copy something i wrote from somewhere else that might be informative. it's about the DNA letters, the pesterchum name abbreviations, and how that led to the trolls. The DNA connection began well before I ever even thought of the trolls. I named EB, TT, TG, in that order. I noticed an unfolding pattern with the latter two, and then named GG to solidify this pattern. I assumed EB was just a special case for whatever reason, much like he is in other ways. For instance, the other three all have close birthdays in December, while his is in April. I figured very early on that he would have an alt account to complete the pattern, but hadn't developed the plot device to explain the alt until the trolls surfaced. The DNA connection with GT, TT, TG, GG I also noticed early on, and in fact largely precipitated the existence of the trolls, and was the sole reason for there being 12 of them. (12 remaining DNA letter combos, and some people theorized there would be 12 based on this before it was clear how many there were.) Additionally, the fact that there were 12 was what prompted the zodiac connection. It may also be interesting to note that for GT, TG, TT, and GG, the like-letters are girls, and differing letters are boys, which correspond to chromosomes XY (male), and XX (female). Trolls do not follow this pattern because, first, there are only AA and CC left which would mean only 2 girls in the group ( :C ) and second, they aren't human, so their chromosomes probably work differently. For now, all we know is the girls begin with G, but the logic probably needs to be more elaborate than this if there are any more girls in the group. There is further rationale for John's defection from the pattern, from GT to EB, which possibly will never be explained in the story. What caused him to defect was the trolls, a group ostensibly lead by CG, whose name obviously implies cancerous disruption within a genetic system, or a DNA code. His cancerous influence causes a defect in the full string of genetic characters, from GT TT TG GG | CG GC GA AG AC CA TA AT TC CT AA CC to EB TT TG GG | CG GC GA AG AC CA TA AT TC CT AA CC. This is the nature of cancer, to corrupt genetic data. There may be additional relevance to the fact that John defected to ectoBiologist, the name of a pseudo-science sounding similar to carcinoGeneticist. In fact, I believe this will prove to be relevant later on.

hussie tumblr trivia 9/?
What exactly determines whether a person is a Derse or Prospit dreamer? Or is it just random?
I wouldn’t say random, but it’s certainly vague. I guess it’s a little like sorting hat logic in Harry Potter (which I have a really halfassed understanding of because I haven’t read it), but even more vague, and more binary. You get some sense there is rhyme and reason to it when you look at the personality types of the two groups. John, Jade, Jake, Jane vs Rose, Dave, Dirk, Roxy. And the troll groups were divided by their teams, red vs blue. Blue team (Derse) was generally stocked with more scheming members. Red team (Prospit) had some more straightforward heroic types, at least as far as trolls go. But then there can be oddball designations that don’t seem to make sense by such simplistic parameters, like Vriska being on Prospit. If she and Nepeta were swapped the criteria might seem more clear cut. See again, sorting hat logic. Like I think Harry was supposed to be in Slytherin because he could talk snakes and was kind of moody and shit but he was just SO BRAVE and loved friendship SO MUCH he got put in the other one. But for real, my fanfic where he was a Slytherin all along is so much better. (he is naked in most of it) You could also look to the passive/active nature of the classes in making some retroactive sense of the Derse/Prospit dreamer duality. Passive/active classes are also a pretty vague thing, and don’t resolve so easily into simple dualities like defensive/offensive and such. Those are the guidelines for understanding them, but there is clearly a lot of flexibility within that system. They seem to suggest tendencies rather than absolute capabilities. Like there isn’t a rule that says a passive class could never use an offensive technique. The system is meant to be very flexible, and in the story, classes suggest a little more about a hero’s path and role in the greater quest than what their battle capabilities are. But if we’re saying active/passive literally translates to offensive/defensive for the sake of this topic, then Derse would be very active and Prospit would be very passive. Derse’s job is to attack. Prospit’s is to defend. This seems to carry over to the roles of the dreamers too. Dave and Rose turned out to be very active players. Dave time traveling all over the place, making a fortune on stocks and such. Rose went on her crazy solo mission to break the game and fight Jack. Jade and John had more passive roles through most of that, players who were “acted upon” by other players and circumstances. John was always being led around by trolls this way and that, drifting around wherever the wind took him. Jade was especially passive for a lot of the story, spending a lot of time falling asleep (or being put to sleep) at key moments. It wasn’t until she reached god tier as a Witch (said to be a highly active class) that she became extremely active, making lots of stuff happen, rounding up planets and all that. Rose may have been a similar case, being excessively active as a Derse dreamer, but then flipping over to a passive role upon reaching god tier as a passive class. Being from Derse means you are from a culture of offense and aggression. Being from Prospit means the opposite. You could argue that these are qualities that either rub off on the dreamers, or they are designated as those dreamers in the first place because of those qualities. You could take the view that these are innate tendencies to overcome, as seemed to be the case for Jade and Rose. Or maybe sometimes they are tendencies that are resisted, and need to be understood and embraced. As a Prospit dreamer, did Karkat struggle because he was actually passive in nature, but had a very active self image as a leader and conqueror? Was Vriska an even more extreme case of misplaced active behavior from a Prospit dreamer? These are yet more things to consider when looking at everything contributing to the hero story of an individual in this game.
