Thoughts on Inez's all-pink ponytail? I don't dislike it but it now looks very obviously fake
It’s not quite all-pink, just very little brown showing.
Tumblr media
Like you said, there used to be more natural color at the top of the ponies. Starting with the 23-24 UK Tour cast the natural color got shortened with the ombre starting higher up the pony. Inez Budd's is a reflection of that higher ombre. On top of that, her hair is darker so it blends more with the crown and makes the natural hair color even less visible than on Lou Henry/Izi Maxwell.

the epilogue patch was content Larian had cut because they didn't want the ending to "drag on" but they ended up restoring it since players felt like the endings were too rushed and wanted more time with the characters. they are a small company compared to the AAA devs out there making $80 skeleton games with $500 in DLC you need to pay for to get the full game. Larian is not that by a long shot.
ignoring the fact that larian reps talked about upper city (epilogue content) just *weeks* before release making their announcements about cutting it being a looooong since planned move a blatant lie, ignoring the fact that the game has been riddled with bugs and other broken content to an unreasonable and sometimes absurd extent (not just the epilogue cut content), ignoring the fact that their announcements are just uwu we're sowwy abt the bugs messages and saying how it was all planned all along, ignoring the fact that larian is not really as small a studio as you say, it has approx same amount of employees as bethesda studios and more than bioware had at their peak with dai success, and larian also forces their workers into crunch so they're not saints
none of it changes fact that the game was released notoriously unfinished. and whether they are or are not small is not an excuse. larian released an unfinished game, and it's so normalized in the industry now that here you are springing to their defense

cooper howard was a big movie star, he starred in many movies.
so i hc that lucy had a crush on different roles of his.
the roles she had crushed mainly were the ones where he played the kind of a person she wanted to be - an idealistic hero. so she projected on them a lot as well.
but she also had a crush on a villain he had once played. that crush wasn't exactly consciously realized, but it was much more intense than her other crushes.
and then she watched one movie where cooper had a minor role as a "cross-dresser". she couldn't explain all the things she felt while watching cooper wearing the dress, makeup and the wig bc the existence of queerness/queer attraction wasn't talked about in vault.

・You were enemies, you were supposed to be enemies.
・But fate (always) has other plans.
・Your first interaction wasn't the normal law vs outlaw situation
・It was like James couldn't breathe; your eyes, there was something so ... invigorating about them. They drew him in. Words became difficult.
・But when you pulled a weapon, he snapped back into his normal self.
・With his sword pressed against your neck, your smirked and in a flash, twirled and slipped out a hidden dagger. With the sharp knife pressed against his throat, you both subconciously agreed never to hurt one another. Even if you were sworn enemies.
"What's your name?" James said sternly. The height difference made it harder to keep your dagger pressed to his skin.
"Oh, wig, wouldn't you like to know?" And then you lightly bit his ear and disappeared.
・A shiver went down his spine.
・And he hoped no one saw the interaction, because now he was smiling.
・When you were apart, time felt like it was going by too quickly. James was yearning for you, his heart thudding whenever he thought about you.
・After running into each other three separate times, being away from you was too much to bear.
・When you were together, time stopped.
・Eyes looking into eyes. Hands caressing the smallest part of bare skin. Both of you were breathless.
・But you had to keep this from your crew. From the rest of the pirate community.
・If they knew you were together with someone from the law, no one would trust you.
・Your nickname for him is 'wig,' since he always wears that awful powdered white wig. You've told him how terrible it is, but he sees it as another badge for his status.
・Being together means you become more open-minded. You see things from each other's point of views.
・You love the way he becomes so flustered when you whisper in his ear. He always thanks the good god in heaven that he's wearing sleeves because goosebumps erupt as well.
・When he whispered, "I love you," for the first time, you couldn't breathe. This wasn't supposed to go so far. But it did. It has.
・You sat up as thoughts flooded your head.
・Could you ever get married? Would either of you even want to quit your life for the other?
・You looked back at James, who was sprawled in the sheets. His ugly wig discarded, no uniform to be found.
・All you wanted to do was stay in his arms. But your crew could only stay drunk for so long. And you had to get back to them.
・One thing you did know, was that his love would last.
・But your life wasn't ready to change just yet; so you both got dressed, kissed each other goodbye and ... walked away.
・As he had slipped a piece of parchment in your clothes. It read, "forever."

14 [Tourney]
17 [Marriage to Laenor]
23 [Marriage to Daemon]
32 - 33 [Civil War]

Tumblr media
Character: Elizabeth Murray [Younger]
Actress: Cara Jenkins
Movie: Belle [2013]
[She was 8/9 during filming so good for Rhaenyra when her mother dies and she is declared heir to when her father marries Alicent. She is pretty with pale skin, blonde hair and small lips. She wears mid 18th century clothes ish.]
Tumblr media
Character: Katherine Woodville
Actress: Elsa Houben
Show: The White Queen [2013]
[Unknown age, looks to be around 8 - 10 years old so good for when Rhaenyra is declared heir till her first half brother is born. She is pretty with fair skin, blonde hair and a small mouth. She unfortunately is only shown in one scene clearly. She wears a 15th century ish dress.]
Tumblr media
Character: Violetta Giurgiu
Actress: Anamaria Vartolomei
Movie: My Little Princess [2011]
[She was 11 during the filming of this movie so good for a year before he sweet half sister was born. She is pretty with blonde hair, pale skin and small lips. She wears modern clothes that are still good for close ups.]
Tumblr media
Character: White Queen [Younger]
Actress: Amelia Crouch
Movie: Alice Through the Looking Glass [2016]
[She was between the ages of 10 - 12 during the filming of this movie. So, good for when her half brother and sister were born. She has light blonde hair, has small lips and is pretty. She wears fantasy clothes.]
Tumblr media
Character: Lucrecia Borgia
Actress: María Valverde
Movie: Los Borgia [2006]
[She was 18 - 19 during this movie so the right age for Rhaenyra when she’s married to Laenor. She’s pretty and has small lips and blonde hair that is a bit too golden. She unfortunately has brown eyes and is not “thick of waist”. She wears 15th century Italian ish clothes.]
Tumblr media
Actress: Catherine Howard
Actress: Tamzin Merchant
Show: The Tudors [2007] [Season 3 & 4]
[She was 22 - 23 during this show so good for her during the start of her marriage to Daemon although she does have a love interest that more suits Harwin and is playing a character of an age with Rhaenyra when she was with Harwin. She’s pretty. She has lighter blonde but golden hair and small lips. Unfortunately she is quite skinny and not thick of waist. She wears Tudor ish clothes.]
Tumblr media
Character: Queen Jadwiga of Poland
Actress: Dagmara Bryzek
Show: The Crown of the Kings [2018]
[She’s 22 - 25 during this show so a good age for Rhaenyra during her marriage to Daemon. Her hair is brown and obviously not correct for Rhaenyra but with some editing I do think this fancast could be really good. She has pale skin, a rounder face and small ish lips. She isn’t plus sized but she is “thick of waist” compared to the other actresses. She wears 14th century polish clothes.]
Tumblr media
Character(s): Lucrecia Borgia & Constance Chatterly
Actress: Holliday Grainger
Show: The Borgias [2011]
Movie: Lady Chatterley’s Lover [2015]
[She was 22 - 25 during the show and was 26 - 27 in the movie so good for during her marriage to Daemon. She is blonde although a bit more golden than I imagined her hair and has relatively smaller lips. She has a rounder face in the movie but is unfortunately skinny in both. She wears 15th century Italian clothes in the show and in the movie she wears late 1920’s clothing.]
Tumblr media
Character: Catherine the Great
Actress: Yuliya Snigir
Show: Catherine the Great [2015]
[Suggested by: ???]
[She was 31/32 during this movie to the right age for her at the start of the war. She wears a silver wig, has a round ish face and small lips but unfortunately isn’t really “thick of waist”. She wears 18th century clothes.]

you and joseph have to film a steamy scene together, making you think about him like crazy… just not innocently.
joseph quinn, black!fem reader, grinding
word count: 1.6k
author’s note: first time writing a joseph oneshot! i really liked this one tho and i hope y’all do too <3
you were just a little frantic. infact, scratch that. you were majorly frantic, okay? and you honestly shouldn't be. so why were you?
you were an actress! and joseph was your co-star, who played your love interest. you just needed to brace yourself and get it over with.
you breathed out, admiring your outfit. atleast you looked good. pastel yellow was the colour scheme — a push up bra with underwear a little more suggestive than the bra itself. the robe had very big fluffy cuffs that made it that extra bit playful. your makeup was done simple like you were going to bed but, those eyelash extensions weren't budging. the wig you had laid was long, black and wavy. again, simple.
the show loved by many, star, had just been given a reboot. and your character was new as was joseph's. he played harley; the younger brother of a certain xander mcpherson, the hustler/heartthrob. while you played kenadee howard, a budding artist trying to make it big just like the girls in the cast.
and ofcourse, your two characters begin to have something together. leading to the scene you two were just about to film: your first ever sex scene.
now while sex scenes didn't actually involve any sex, you were still unbelievably nervous. i mean, so far you had only ever filmed kisses and things. stuff you'd never had to act so necessarily vulnerable for.
now all of a sudden, you're half-naked. waiting to get called on set to make out with a man you're good friends with. who just so happens to be insanely attractive. God.
three taps were heard at your door. “knock knock.”
the homely british accent peaked past the wooden barrier getting you to smile. you tied up the robe, before letting him know he was safe to enter.
he came in hesitantly. he kept a respectful distance, which you thought was so sweet of him. however, you caught the way he eyed you in a way that you had never really seen from him before.
the silence was too loud for you not to break it. you chuckled, “too much?”
this got him to snap out of his trance, shaking his head a little bit as his eyes widened from the realisation of what he had been doing.
“oh- no. not at all. you look great. i- i was just wanting to see if you're okay,” he started as he scratched his head. you both eyed eachother for a moment in the mirror, the awkwardness running through the room like a current.
you turned your head to look at him, teasingly answering back, “will you be?”
he chuckled at your remark. his eyes darted to the floor and you noticed you had made him bashful. “well, you're in that. so i don't know if i will be.”
“so things are gonna start out slow. okay? then i need a very passionate, almost rough, kind of physicality between you two. think y'all can do that for me?” the director asked you both.
stood side by side but not even daring to make eye contact with eachother. most likely because you were scared. but again, you didn't need to be! you're an actress — a job that required you to step out of your comfort zone.
so why on earth were you so goddamn nervous?
feeling a hand press against the small of your back, you turned to see joseph. “just let me know if you feel uncomfortable at any point, and i'll stop. okay?”
his breath fanning against your face as your faces were only inches apart didn't help this whole nervousness thing. he flashed you a small smile which you reciprocated quickly. rather than just stare into his eyes — which were also nervous like yours — and make things more awkward.
“you're the best, jo',” you thanked him along with pressing a kiss against his slightly reddened cheek.
soon enough, the set is fully situated and your robe was removed and placed on the end of the bed in the apartment used for filming. you get in the bed and shut your eyes, waiting for action to be called.
when it was, you got into character. you were no longer y/n, you were kenadee. and kenadee had an unexpected visitor at the door.
the constant banging of your front door had your eyes open up, disturbed from your sleep. you groggily sat up, reaching for your robe to put on once you had stood up.
the banging still continued as you walked to the door. “alright, alright. i heard you. goddamn...” you muttered under your breath as you tied the robe.
when you opened the door, your face turned to one of shock. then, confusion. joseph, who was playing harley, was at the door. in a black shirt, black jeans and black leather boots. with a single silver chain hanging loosely around his neck and few silver rings adorned his fingers.
“harley? what- i- why—” the only thing you could do was stutter at him. he appeared distressed, tired, afflicted.
he leaned closer to you, hand resting against the doorframe. “is it cool if... if i come in?” he asked, his character really shining through with the new american accent that he put on.
you sighed, shutting your eyes and moved out the way so he can step in the room. even the way he walked in was hasty, like he was antsy about getting something done. acquiring something he was in search for.
“you got a good reason as to why you showed up here in the middle of the night?” you asked. but you weren’t met with an answer. at first.
joseph’s- harley’s eyes were trailing on your- kenadee’s body. they raked over your figure; how the robe accidentally rode up due to the thickness of your thighs. you didn’t want to believe the way he stared was real, but then he did it numerous times. with those brown eyes turning into burning red embers of lust.
“harley. i’m askin’ you sum. you can’t be bothered to hit me up all week and now you come runnin’ up in here—”
your speech was cut off by the abrupt but impactful way joseph placed his lips onto yours. cupping your face in his hands, feeling the coolness of his rings graze your cheeks.
he kissed you hard. hungrily. cutting off his own air by trying to breathe in as much of yours as he could muster. after a couple kisses, you broke off the kiss but still stayed held by him.
“you can kick me out in the morning if you still decide you hate me. but kenny, i can’t-” he breathed out harshly, eyes dancing frantically over your face as he shook his head. “i need you.”
confused, bewildered, you stared at him puzzled. kenadee, your character, had been needing to hear that from harley, joseph’s character, for the longest. you see, harley was brute. didn’t care much for feelings but sure as hell cared for feeling on something, the feeling of being in something. so for your character to hear this from him, finally, was a big step.
“i need you.”
without a second wasted, you kissed him back. tongues grazing your lips and eventually, prodding at eachother as you slipped off the robe and let it drop to a pool on the floor.
you made sure to catch the little ‘oh my god’ he let out under his breath when he caught sight of your body. and you could’ve sworn that was in his natural accent. not his american one he catered to for the show.
it was brushed off because he was now leading you to the bed, kicking his boots off as he lied you down. things got rougher at that point, his hand wrapped around your neck as he tongued your mouth, your hands gripping and tearing at his shirt wanting it to come off.
all the while his clothed bulge rutted against you. now you didn’t know if he was told to do this or not, but he wasn’t being told to stop. and you weren’t complaining. you found yourself getting wetter and wetter.
it only intensified as he offed his shirt; his naked torso exposed to you. the thumping you felt inbetween your legs quickened at the sight of his body, the chain still clung to his chest just attracted you even more to him for some reason.
he kissed you once. hard. then his lips attached themselves to your neck, sucking on your flesh intensely. you hummed at the elating feeling while his hand intertwined with yours — a mixture of endearment and also wanting to pin you down.
he came back up to kiss you on the lips once more, but not before swiping his thumb down your bottom lip. his way of teasing you. gazing into eachother’s eyes was a dangerous thing you were doing to yourself. as you knew it was making you feel and think in a manner that would most likely result in you hurting yourself.
not that it didn’t feel insanely good.
“and cut! guys that was beautiful. the chemistry. just- ugh! i love y’all. okay we’re gonna take five. guys, again, phenomenal job.”
even though the director had yelled out cut, you didn’t want to move. seemingly, neither did he. since his hands was still holding yours and holding your face, thumb sat slightly under your lip.
“you okay?” you inquired, still panting from the intoxicating scene the two of you had just filmed. his wholesome smile he always gave you had differentiated, shifted. it was lopsided, the crinkles from it only showing on one side of his face.
he was smirking.
“are you?”

What movies would you recommend for good examples of period costumes?
Ok since I could talk for literally hours about this I’m going to stick to periods that are show adjacent or relevant otherwise I’ll be here all day.
18th century (Lestat’s time):
Barry Lyndon (1975) - takes place in the 1760s throughout Europe so a little before Lestat’s time but honestly fashion changed very slowly back then so it’s pretty much the vibe we’re gonna see in s3 I believe. I think this is essential to understanding the period’s masculinity as it features mostly men and is also not about romance. You also get to see class differences in men’s dress as the character starts off in a very different social position from where he ends up. I also think Sam in his Lestat get up from set leaks looks sooo much like Ryan O’Neal in this movie I think it will be a major inspiration.
Dangerous Liaisons (1988) - this is pretty much smack dab in the middle of Lestat’s human life (pre-revolutionary) and it’s one of the few romantic dramas that actually allows its leading men to look period accurate cause somehow Hollywood decided calves and stockings were too gay for their leading men who usually show up to dinner parties in riding gear which would NEVER happen. Anyways I also think the character of Valmont is probably another big Lestat influence.
I also think movies like Amadeus (1984) and The Favourite (2018) are helpful in establishing to viewers that men did look ridiculous back then with big ass wigs and face caked full of makeup and it was not considered gay or unmanly!!
Gilded Age / Edwardian and beyond (Louis’s time):
The Age of Innocence (1993) - takes place in the 1870s so again a bit before Louis but I think now it’s important to establish that fashion trends are moving a bit faster as you’ll see a few decades later the big ass bustle look is no longer on trend but this is just a beautiful film to look at if you want a good intro to film costuming.
The trio of Merchant-Ivory’s EM Forster adaptations: A Room with a View, Maurice and Howard’s End are nice examples of early 20th century wear and again you finally get to see more class differences in dress. Also great references for men’s wear.
Daughters of the Dust (1991) - this takes place in Georgia around 1902 so getting quite close to the start of the show and it has absolutely gorgeous design like it’s the women’s silhouette so spot on. Good reference for the costumes on black women in the show. Also I think this is one case where the flowy down do’s hair in a period film isn’t anachronistic cause of the specific story they’re telling otherwise I’m usually like why are you an adult woman walking around outside with your hair down.
Passing (2021) - takes place in 1920s New York and features really lovely b&w cinematography and costuming wise it’s a really beautiful representation of upper middle class black families of the time and also has very interesting contrasts with the white upper class. Amazing book too, I highly recommend both.
For periods beyond 1930 I actually recommend just watching films from that era cause they give a more accurate representation of what was fashionable then not filtered through today’s beauty standards. For example the thin penciled eyebrow is almost never seen in modern period films cause no actress wants to shave off their eyebrows 💀 and their hair is almost always too long cause they don’t wanna chop off their hair.
Here are some good fashion recs of 30s-40s:
Trouble in Paradise (1932), It Happened One Night (1934), The Awful Truth (1937), Imitation of Life (1934), Notorious (1946), Mildred Pierce (1945), Gilda (1946), Orphee (1949), and a bunch others you can ask me for recs based on more specific criteria and I’d be happy to provide!
Also a film that’s a bit past the show’s timeline is Paris Blues (1961) starring Sidney Poitier and Paul Newman that’s also about American expats in Paris and it’s very good, everyone watch it.

Harriet Caplan-Dean's Hairstyles: UK Tour
Hey y'all! Have had a few asks recently about Harriet Caplan-Dean's different wigs and hairstyles. I realized I never actually made a full post about that, so here it is.
Tumblr media
She only had two wigs: an Aragon bob and a Howard pony. - The Aragon was used for Aragon. - Her own hair was used for Boleyn, Seymour, and Cleves - The Howard pony was used for both Howard and Parr. This was normal for most non-Black UK Parr covers for a while (post about that here).
Her Parr style was changed a few times mid-run:
Tumblr media
Debut and early shows had a bun in the back before going into the Howard pony. By around July 2022 it had switched to a lower ponytail with a poof and single braid on top, using just her hair. From then through the end of the run it stayed mostly the same, although they played around with the exact style of the braid and poof.

hi kay tell me about jerrykramer if you want? it's been too long since i watched seinfeld
oh boy... where to start...
maybe it's best to come in hot with a tinhat theory? imo, jerrykramer was never written as a romantic ship or intended to end up as one. if anything, i can see the writers (and jerry...) more go the route of your classic 80s buddy comedy that has maybe some tropey romantic undertones to it if you care to look (like, say "midnight run").
BUT i think that michael (richards) and jerry (seinfeld. lol.) had such an amazing chemistry that it also kind of wrote itself and a lot of the "acting" choices on jerry's part (who has also stated again and again that he is not an actor and can only react genuinely to the people opposite to him - which is also why he cast the show the way it was cast - because he felt comfortable around those people and knew he didn't have to stretch himself beyond his abilities) were just actor bleed (the fkn heart eyes, man...). with michael, you can see it especially in later seasons when he's allowed himself to relax a little.
And, of course, most importantly, it WORKED. jerry's #1 priority has always been to make it funny. in his own words: he lives in a world of funny (and he has also said he doesn't see race or gender which still drives me insane to think about. funnysexual).
But there were also very conscious writing choices for jerry and kramer which has me believing that the writers (and jerry. who was "micro managing every aspect of the show") knew exactly how you could look at their relationship if you wanted to. plus, the show has always been very queer friendly (hell, there is a whole episode dedicated to gay okay. and jerry has been very vocally pro queer - especially on comedians in cars getting coffee *cough* - most noticeably in the episode with howard stern where he literally said: "i like gay." after HS asked him "why is everything gay with you?").
This is just my reading and probably also projecting but none of the characters read particularly straight to me. kramer is so special, he most of all is so above labels and societal norms - that's his whole thing (in Seinfeld!Jerry's words: he is a pod).
And as the show progresses and the characters, the writers and the audience all become more comfortable and accustomed with/to each other, jerry and kramer become increasingly domestic.
I have made a whole post about the tropes applied to them (I even think I forgot a couple) but the ones I love the most are: jerry being wife-coded in the episode "The Bizarro Jerry" // jerry being girlfriend coded in "The Apology" // meetcute trope also in "The Apology" // jerry being such a germaphobe but somehow always being okay with whatever unsanitary thing kramer is up to at any given moment // bed sharing in "The Wig Master" // a literal kiss (that wasn't played off as a joke) in "The Kiss Hello" // jerry taking kramer as his date to award shows & once on a holiday to tuscany despite being a notorious and chronic dater // the others noticing/commenting on their relationship-y behaviour (george's reaction to the kiss & his reaction to finding them in the shower together. elaine and jerry talking about settling down and saying "it's just gonna be you and kramer" "just me and kramer, huh?" & elaine commenting on their relationship trouble whenever one of them is sulking) // their co-dependency (it's being commented on in tiny moments throughout the show how much kramer needs jerry's friendship/love and kramer comments a few times how empty jerry's life would be without him)...
oh, i guess all of them are important to me haha. and they all come so easy to them. but here's the post i wrote a year ago on that. feel free to browse through my jerrykramer tag (or jerrymichael *cough*) or this blog to ogle at them.
I will leave you with this homosexual promo pic outtake, thanks for coming to my TED talk <3

CONFESSIONS OF A FETISH BARBER
BY RUGTOPPER
Sam picked up the telephone after it rang the second time.
“Adonis Hair Replacement Salon, Sam speaking.”
“Sam? This is Troy. How are you?”
“Troy! I’m fine. Good to hear from you. Why are you calling? Your regular appointment is still three weeks away.”
“I have finally decided to take your advice and change pieces. Is there room on your schedule to see me at 2:00 this afternoon? I’ll be through at the station by then.”
“Sure, Troy. I have an appointment at 1:00, but he is my last for the day. My afternoon is yours. I’ll see you at 2:00.”
Sam hung up the phone in the waiting room and went back into the styling room. He picked up a broom and finished cleaning the hair clippings on the floor. Sam had a very traditional barbershop right down to the black and white linoleum tiles on the floor. In the center of the room taking its pride of place was an enormous chrome barber’s chair with fire-engine red leather on the seat and back. This was the chair that Sam’s dad had used for nearly fifty years. This was the chair where Sam had his first haircut. But Sam didn’t have time to dwell on that. He had to finish cleaning up, have a small lunch, take care of his 1:00 appointment, and prepare for Troy. Troy Duncan. What a great guy. Everyone loved Troy. Everyone thought they knew Troy. He had been a fixture at the local TV station for nearly twenty years. Now he strictly did the morning and noon-time broadcasts, but was still a well-known local celebrity. “I wonder what made him decide to switch from a toupee to a full wig,” thought Sam. Troy Duncan had worn a toupee for nearly twenty-seven years. In fact, Sam’s dad had actually done the first fitting on Troy when he was only twenty-two years old. “That was just before Dad retired to Florida,” Sam said out loud to no one in particular. After Sam finished sweeping, he checked his own hair in the mirror before he went back out to the waiting room. Every silvery hair was in place. Of course it was; it never moved. It was made and styled that way. Still, before he left the room, he did give his hair a quick mist with wig hairspray. He knew Howard, his 1:00 appointment would notice. Howard noticed things like that. Howard was a relatively new type of client for Sam. In the last ten years, Sam had had an increase in clients who wore toupees or wigs. Among those were several who were a somewhat unusual because they really wanted to wear a toupee or a wig. In other words, they had no physical lack of hair precipitating the need to cover it up. Howard was one of those men.
As Sam was finishing his lunch at the reception desk, Howard walked in to the salon. He was early.
“Hi, Sam,” Howard said as he closed the office door behind him.
“I know I’m early. I'll sit over here while you finish your lunch.”
“Thanks, Howard. That would be great. I’ll be done in just a bit.”
Howard walked over to the sofa, tugged up his pants legs, and sat down. When he did this, he crossed his right leg over his left knee flashing a short jet-black sock, and the clip of his garter. Howard loved to do this. Sam chose to ignore it. Howard Gunson. Howard was only thirty-one, but he did everything he could to look like a man over sixty. Howard had on his usual barbershop attire. He was wearing hideous pale yellow beltless slacks, a thin-knit white short-sleeved dress shirt, and white patent leather loafers with a gold bar. This would have been marginally okay except that Howard was wearing an athletic undershirt which was clearly visible through the top shirt. Other undergarments were noticeable as well. When he sat down, Sam observed the knee-length boxer shorts with the tiny multi-colored diamonds underneath the beltless slacks. Also, the short dark socks held aloft by garters were clearly, but unnaturally outlined through the pants. Sam had given up trying to figure out why Howard wanted to look like this.
“Okay, Howard, I’m ready if you are.”
Howard came into the styling room.
“Howard, before we get started, don’t you think you’d better undress so we don’t have an accident like the last time?”
“Sure, Sam.”
Howard went to bathroom and undressed. When he returned, he was wearing only his undergarments. His tiny dick was already trying to poke itself out of the oversized boxer shorts that were hiding it. Howard walked across the room and got into the chair. As Sam put the cape around Howard’s neck, he looked at Howard’s hair. It either had to be the worst looking thing Sam had ever done for a client, or the best job Sam had ever done in making something nice look cheap. Howard’s toupee was coal black with a sheen.  It covered most of his head. There was a left-sided part, but it was only simulated. You couldn’t see the scalp at all. Sam called this type of part a “pillowed part” or a “carpet part.” Basically, it looked like where two pieces of carpet came together, like on a staircase. The base of the toupee was mostly mesh with just a strip around the circumference for tape. The front of the rug almost embarrassed Sam. There was no  lace-front hairline or anything fancy. This was old-school front under venting. Even at 100 yards, you knew this thing wasn’t real. Howard was sheepishly proud of this.
“Okay Howard, let’s get started.”
Sam put both of his hands on the base of Howard’s neck. Just above the neckline he felt for the plastic strip and loosened the tape. Howard moaned just a bit. Sam knew what was happening and stopped for just a moment to give Howard a chance to catch his breath. He put his hands at the base of Howard’s toupee and slowly peeled the toupee forward. As the toupee was removed, Howard moaned again and shot a tiny wad onto the underside of the cape.
“You know, Howard, if you were married, your wife would be so disappointed. We haven’t even started, and you’re already finished.” Sam laughed as he said this. Howard only gave an evil little smirk.
“Don’t ask me to explain it, Sam, I can’t. Just trim what I have and put me back together. I have to be at the newsstand at the airport by 3:00 this afternoon. I’m working a later shift today. You know how much I love working at the airport. It is the best place for rug spotting.”
This was something else Howard loved to do: look for toupees, and be spotted as well. Sam got the hot-lathered foam and put it on Howard’s stubble. He observed the flawless, but man-made Norwood seven horseshoe pattern on Howard’s head. With several quick strokes, Howard’s faint shadow of hair was gone. Sam trimmed the fringe with a four guard as Howard always requested. After this, Sam picked up Howard’s toupee, and placed it at his forehead. He slowly rounded it back into place. He did his best to comb the synthetic hair over the real, but too-short hair. This look made it even easier for it to be spotted.
“By the way, Howard, I hope that at your next appointment we can finally start on your laser hair removal.  It will make the mpb ring look more natural when you remove your toupee.  Now, up, out of the chair. Get dressed. I have another client coming at 2:00, and I need you to be gone.”
Howard got dressed, paid with a huge tip, and left. Sam swept up and waited for Troy.
Straight up 2:00, in walked Troy Duncan. To the unknowing, one might think he and Howard were alike. They both wore toupees and had the same fetish for undergarments, but that was where it ended. Troy was 48, handsome, fit, well-read, and a genuinely interesting person.
“Get in here, Troy. I did not expect to see you for three weeks much less get a call from you today.” Sam said this as he sat down on the sofa. “Sit down,” Sam said as he patted the sofa. Troy sat down and crossed his left leg over his right knee. Unlike Howard, he did not flash his garter clip even though he was always tempted to do so.
“Now Troy, why have you decided to go with a full wig? I’ve only been trying to get you to wear one for over a year.”
“Well Sam, I remember when you told me that I was losing more hair, that I was slowly but eventually going to move from a six to a seven on the Norwood scale.”
“Yes, and at that point you really need a custom-made piece. Granted, the stock pieces I get for you are good, but they won’t cover the baldness when you get to a seven,” Sam intoned.
“I know,” agreed Troy, “but my reason has less to do with a custom piece and more with the custom price attached to it.”
“You know I’d cut a deal for you. You are one of my most loyal clients . . . and most famous, well, even if no one knows that you are a client.”
“Well, I don't know about people not knowing, but I’m going to make the transition because of work.”
“Work?” Sam asked.
“Yes, work. You remember a while back I sent an audition tape to San Diego for that network job? Well, I finally heard from them yesterday. They went with Justin McKay.”
“Justin McKay? Wasn’t he that kid who interned for you a few years ago?”
“Eight years ago to be exact. Justin McKay interned for me and then the station manager actually hired him to be a researcher before he went to Atlanta. Anyway, when I found out about losing the job in San Diego, I decided just to stay here.”
“What do you mean stay here?”
“The station manager has been wanting me to sign a ten-year contract for over a year. I haven’t because I kept thinking I would move up in the market to a larger network. This was the fourth time I have been passed over. That is one of the things I hate most about news broadcasting: always having to look for the next market job. Anyway, when I signed yesterday, I just decided that now was the time. I have a worn a toupee since I was 22 years old. I just want something that's a lot easier to take care of.  I'm getting older.  It is time to graduate, so to speak, to a full wig.”
“I remember Dad telling me how nervous you where when you came in for that first fitting.”
“I was a wreck, mainly because I didn’t know what I was getting into. I really wasn’t that interested in wearing a toupee at that time.”
“Really, Troy, I didn’t know that. You seem so comfortable wearing one.”
“Your dad, and later on you, really helped me get comfortable wearing a toupee. My advisor was the one who really guided me to get one. He told me that if I wanted to move from behind the radio microphone to being in front of a camera, I needed a full head of hair. I didn’t think I was that bald, but I was lying to myself. By the time I decided to deal with my hair loss, I think I was almost a four on the Norwood scale with a lot of fuzz. Your dad just shaved me clean so I had a smooth surface for my first toupee. I can tell you I walked out of here with my head held high for the first time in nearly two years. When I made that first appearance for the campus news, I felt like a million bucks. I realized that I had been hiding under a silly plaid riding cap. Anyway, after I lost the job in San Diego, I signed the ten-year contract with the station. It is the same pay, but with lots of bonuses. Also, on the bright side, a full wig every two years costs far less than a toupee every six months.”
“I want to hear more about this Justin what’s-his-name. You said he interned with you?”
“Yes, about eight years ago. I guess the people in San Diego wanted someone younger than me. They can have him and his overly-permed hair.”
“Oh, my! Did you say it was Justin McKay?”
“Yes, what about him?”
“Now, I remember him. Troy, that’s not a perm.”
“What! You mean that awful hair is natural?”
“Only part of it,” Sam hinted.
“You mean Justin McKay wears a rug?”
You got it, Troy. He was one of my first fetish clients,” Sam confessed.
“Fetish clients? What on earth is that? What do they do, suck their toes or something disgusting like that?”
“Well, not exactly that. Nearly ten years ago, I started getting phone calls from men who wanted to be fitted for a toupee. It was only a few, but when they would show up for the consultation, I would discover that they had a full head of hair.”
“You mean these guys were not bald? They weren’t losing their hair at all?”
“No. They just wanted to wear a toupee.”
“I can’t imagine someone who had hair wanting to wear a toupee. I understand being bald and wanting to cover it by wearing a toupee, but to make yourself bald on purpose just to put on a toupee is a little too farfetched for me.”
“You would be surprised, Troy, just how many men actually want to do just that. My last client, just before you came today, is one of them. He is 31 and has worn a toupee on purpose since he was 25. Justin is the same way.”
“Tell me more about Justin and this other guy.”
“Let’s move to the studio so I can start on your new wig while we talk.”
“Okay,” Troy said, but neither of them moved from the sofa.
“Less than a month after you told me Justin had been hired as a researcher,” Sam continued, “I got a call from him. He told me that you had recommended me. He told me he wanted to be fitted for a toupee. I asked him how bald he was. He told me that I would need to remove a lot of hair in order to have a proper fit.”
“How did he find out I came here? Did he follow me? I know he was always asking me where I got my hair done and then he would correct himself by saying, ‘I mean. . cut.’ That always bothered me. Well, keep going.”
“So the day of the appointment came and Justin arrived on time. He had all this unruly hair. He also had a very expensive toupee in a box. He told me that he wanted to wear a toupee and that he had always wanted to wear a toupee. I told him that I just couldn’t wave a magic wand and make him bald. He got hard as a rock when I said that. I told him it would be unethical to make someone bald on purpose. I told him that he was being silly, that he didn’t need a toupee. He was not moved. He just kept begging. Finally, I told him to leave. I told him that I would think about it. He called me the next day crying. He told me that his therapist had suggested that he get a toupee to face his fears of going bald. I told him he wasn’t going bald. He said that he was. I asked for the name of his therapist. He wouldn’t give it, of course, because there wasn’t one. The day after the phone call, he showed up here in a baseball cap crying. He had shaved the top of his head. He was crying and begging me to fit him with the toupee. So, I did.”
“My God! I knew he was a little off the beam, but nothing like this. So, you fitted him with the toupee?”
“I had to. I couldn’t let him leave looking worse than Larry from the Three Stooges. It was awful. He had basically taken a beard trimmer and mowed down the middle of his head. I told him to get in the chair.”
“How did the fitting go?”
“The fitting was routine once I got his scalp prepared. He had buzzed himself to a Norwood four, but the toupee was sized for a five. After I shaped it to a level five, I was ready to shave the stubble. I got the hot-foamed lather and quickly removed all the stubble. At this point he was totally into the whole process. The boy had a ton of hair. When I turned him toward the mirror with his curly toupee setting there on its stand, he made the strangest sound. He actually shot a load in his pants. I wouldn’t let him get up. I made him sit there in all that goo while I finished. I got the toupee off the stand, put tape on the underside, and attached it to his head. The next bit took forever, and I do mean forever, over two hours. I hate working with curly hair. He kept telling me to keep his fringe longer. It really wasn’t all that long, but I did as he asked. It looked well blended, but I knew that without the toupee he was going to look like a clown. He ended up coming back every four weeks for a trim before he got that job in Atlanta. When he moved, that was the last time I saw him. Well, that is the whole saga of my first fetish client. I am sorry you lost the job to him. You are a great reporter.”
“Thanks, Sam. Can we start on my wig now? You can tell me about that other guy then. What’s his name?”
“Yes, we can start. You had better undress. These wigs are long and loaded with tons of hair. They make them that way. They come fuller than necessary. Anyway, the guy’s name is Howard. I’ll tell you about him when you get back from the bathroom.”
Troy got up and went to the bathroom to undress. He always did this whenever he had a new fitting. It was easier, cleaner, neater, and just more comfortable. As Troy walked across the room to the bathroom, he moved various items from his pants pockets to his suit-coat pockets. He also thought to himself, “How many times have I done this? How many toupees have I gotten since I was 21?” Today was something new for Troy. When he got into the bathroom, he removed his coat and hung it on one of the pegs inside the door. He closed the door and looked at himself in the full-length mirror. He loved how his tight athletic undershirt looked beneath his crisp white dress shirt. He removed his tie and hung it up. Off came the shirt and down came the pants. They slid off easily over his wing tips which he liked to keep on. Seeing himself in his tight undershirt tucked into his knee-length boxer shorts, thick-n-thin socks and garters, he gave himself a queer little smile. He said out loud to himself, “And now off goes the hair, old man.” Troy walked out of the bathroom, sat down in the barber’s chair. Sam put a fresh cape around his neck and slowly lifted the back of Troy’s toupee. Same removed it from front to back. The extent of Troy’s baldness was overwhelming to take in. Sam had been right. Troy was almost a full Norwood six. His peaks and his temples were completely gone.
“Are you sure you want to do this,” Sam asked.
“Yes.”
“Sideburns as well,” Sam asked.
“Sideburns as well.  There is too much gray in them, and I never really liked them anyway. Shave it all. It will be easier in the long run.”
Sam turned on the clippers and removed Troy’s sideburns and all of his fringe. Next, he got the hot-foamed lather and the razor and removed the stubble. Suddenly, there sat Troy Duncan - Channel 14’s lead anchorman totally bald and slowly getting a massive erection.
“Oh, God! I knew this day might come, but I wasn’t really prepared for it. I’m totally and completely bald. I don’t believe it. I am completely bald.”
“Okay, Troy. Get over it. You’ve been bald most all of your adult life. Now, it is just a greater level of baldness. Welcome to my world," Sam said as he laughed.  Troy lied, as well.
Now Troy, I have two styles for you. There are four wigs, two in each style. One is a traditional left-sided part, just like the toupee you’ve been wearing for several years. The other style is slightly fuller with a casual, brushed-back look to it. I really think you should go with that. I think it looks better with your facial features. Also, with this youth-obsessed market, I think it will be more attractive. What do you think?”
“I think I need to go with the hipper, brushed-back look. I’m changing from a toupee to a wig. I might as well get a better looking style as well. I also want to stop talking about my hair so you can tell me about Howard and some of your other clients. Confession is good for the soul. Confess!”
Sam put the wig on Troy’s head and turned him toward the mirror.
“I’m not going to leave it like this of course. It will be over the ears and above the collar - very professional, but casual. Okay, now about Howard. I think you might know who he is. He has a newsstand at the airport. He runs an okay business, but with him, everything is about toupees. He loves spotting guys who wear them. He also loves being spotted. He really gets off if someone notices his rug. He actually gets sweaty palms if someone stares at his hairline while they are talking to him.”
“Really? I think I know who are talking about. Maybe I should chat him up sometime just to mess with him. He’s not dangerous, is he?”
“Howard! No, he’s harmless. If you do decide to chat with him, you might pull back your coat so he can see your undershirt. He has a real underwear fetish as well.”
“Should I flash him a glimpse of garter,” Troy asked as he kicked his gartered leg out from under the giant barber’s cape.
“No, Howard might soil himself right there in the airport,” Sam laughed.
“Okay, who else is there? Keep going.”
Same continued cutting and thinning and styling Troy's new wig as he proceeded to "confess" about more of his clients.
"Well, there is Larry, the used car salesman."
"Don't tell me.  He's overweight and wears a lot of gaudy jewelry?"
"No.  Larry hates jewelry.  Plus he is somewhat trim, even if it isn't totally natural."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I happened to notice that he looked like he had lost weight, so I complimented him.  He informed me that he got tired of dieting and had gotten one of those girdle shirts that flattens everything."
Troy laughed.  "So what about his hair?  Is he one of your fetish clients, too?"
"Yes.  He had always wanted to wear a rug, so he started tweezing his hair out.  However, he quickly discovered how tedious and painful that was.  He had me laser his hair off so he could permanently wear a hairpiece."
"You mean you destroyed his hair?  I didn't know you were licensed to do laser hair removal, Sam."
"I've been licensed to practice that for years.  Anyway, Larry had found this blond synthetic hairpiece online that he really liked.  His bio hair is almost white, and doesn't match the hairpiece at all.  Still Larry loves it and the attention he gets.  Anyway, I have had quite a few clients over the years who have had me do laser hair removal.  One of my clients is a security guard at one of the casinos here in Vegas."
"You mean some guy had all his hair lasered off?"
"Yes.  He said he was tired of shaving it all the time.  He's huge and muscular.  The look works for him.
"Okay, Troy.  I need to rinse this wig, remove it, and begin on the other one."
Sam rotated the barber's chair and lowered it.  He gingerly rinsed all the loose hair from Troy's new wig.  He raised the chair and gently applied a towel to Troy's head.  He took a blow dryer and began styling Troy's new wig.  He knew Troy wanted a hipper version of his old style, but he knew Troy's conservative tastes.  He styled it off the forehead, with an easy, brushed back look.  He turned the chair toward the mirror.
"So, what do you think, Troy?"
"It's perfect, Sam.  Just like what we have discussed a few times over the past year.  There is just enough up-sweep which I like, but not a retro pompadour.  Now, any more stories?  The confessional is still open."
Sam removed Troy's wig and placed it on a stand in front of the mirror next to the other, uncut model.  Suddenly Troy felt vulnerable, as he always did without his hair.  He shouldn't, but he did.  He had been bald for half his life, hiding it under a rug.  He liked to think he was fooling most of the people all of the time, but deep down, he knew most people strongly suspected that he wore a hairpiece.  Yes, this new wig was nice, but it was even more obvious than his toupee.  He knew he would get tons of junk emails commenting on his new look.  He didn't have any fringe in which to blend it, and now no sideburns.  Sam had done a great job thinning out the wig, but the temples were obviously taped to his now totally hairless scalp.  His fringe before had been thin and wispy.  He knew this fuller wig would look a lot better.  Sam put tape on the second wig and put it on Troy's totally bald head.  He liked the tight grip of the tape on his scalp.  Since that first day he had put on his new toupee in his dorm room, he had always enjoyed how it felt sitting on his bald head.
"Well, Troy," Sam said as he began cutting on Troy's spare wig.
"Well what, Sam?  Are you going to continue with the confessions?"
"Let me make a quick phone call, and then I'll give you an exclusive confession that will snap your garters."
Sam quickly returned a few minutes later with a smile on his face.
"So, what makes this next confession so much better than the others you have shared?"
"Well, this one is about me, Troy."
"You?  I thought you were naturally bald.  When I first came here all those years ago, you were already wearing a toupee.  If I remember correctly you're only four years older than me.  Isn't that right?"
"Yes, Troy.  I just turned 52.  And, yes, I was wearing a toupee when we first met, but it was partly due to my desire to be like my dad."
"I don't understand, Sam."
"You knew my dad along with two other barbers in town kept all the male stars and celebrities looking their best when they would perform at the casinos.  Whenever one of the barbers would order a new wig for a certain tipsy member of the Rat Pack, he would also order one for my dad.  My dad really liked that full style.  All the Hollywood stars had their own barbers or used Max Factor.  Here in the desert, if a man was going bald, he either went without hair or went with second best.  Anyway, I'm getting away from my story.  When I started working here, sweeping up after school as a teenager, I noticed that a lot of my dad's customers were uncomfortable with me around because I had a full head of hair.  One day after work I asked my dad if I embarrassed him because I didn't wear a hairpiece like he did.  That really upset him because he said that I could never embarrass him.  That's when I told him that I really wanted to wear a toupee like he did.  He said that I was being silly.  He said there was no way he would let me wear one when I didn't need to wear one.  I asked him if he would let me wear one if I did need one.  He said he would.  So, I took the clippers and gave myself a tiny bald spot.  He couldn't believe I did it.  He made me wait until the next day to fit me with a little slider that he had in a drawer."
"A slider?  What's that?"
"Oh, that is a little piece for the crown area.  It can be worn with clips or glue."
"So, you're telling me that you had a toupee fetish just like some of your clients?"
"Yes, Troy, I am.  I started wearing a rug when I was still in high school.  By the time I graduated and went to beauty school, I was a full Norwood five."
"What did your friends at school think?"
"Those that knew, thought that my dad made me wear one for his business.  I couldn't let people think my dad was that cruel.  I told them that I was losing my hair and didn't want to be bald.  Remember Troy, this is Los Vegas.  Everyone cares about how they look.  Half the girls in my graduating class wore extra padding in their bras!"
As Sam was finishing his confession to Troy, the chime on the front door rang.
"I thought I was your last client, Sam.  I can't let anyone see me.  The public may suspect that I wear a hairpiece, but I don't want them to have a face-to-face confirmation."
"He's not coming in here, Troy.  Let me rinse and style this wig while I explain.  Now, he is a long-time client, but he's not here for an appointment.  You see, I have a second confession to make.  You probably don't remember Sean Dugan.  He was a professional bodybuilder and model, but after a car accident, he was working part-time as a security guard at your station when you were having all those issues with Justin.  He found out that Justin was the one who kept sabotaging your network chances.
Sam turned Troy around in the chair, rinsed all the loose hair from the spare wig, and then began styling it like he had the first one.
"Troy, Sean, was the one who brought Justin here.  He hated how Justin would talk about you behind your back at the station.  Sean hated the snide comments Justin made about your toupee.  Sean put a stop to it by convincing me to teach Justin a lesson with my laser.  He didn't have to work very hard."
Troy got up out of the chair, took off the barber's cape, and walked into the lobby.  He didn't say anything.  He just walked up to Sean, softly put both hands on his face, and kissed him the way he had always dreamed of years ago when he would see him at the station.
After that long, passionate kiss Sean just looked down at Troy Duncan's old-fashioned undergarments and smiled.  Troy just smiled as he glanced up at Sean's light cocoa colored toupee.
Later, the two of them went out to eat, but ended up back at Troy's condo for dessert and more.
(You can fill in the rest!)

only murders in the building s3e9 spoilers below the cut! thoughts & theories
so. all my thoughts from last week proved eerily correct (poisoned cookies, donna as murderer, paper being review, etc), which makes me think that i’m very, very wrong in some important way lol.
considering donna said that one line from the review word-for-word stop sitzprobe, it seems like she did read the review. however, now i’m guessing one of 3 things: 1. she read it and disliked it but didn’t do much about it, 2. she read it and disliked it and destroyed it in KT’s office shredder that night but didn’t kill ben, or 3. she read it, disliked it, destroyed it, and poisoned ben, but didn’t push him down the elevator shaft. ie, she’s the perpetrator of the first murder, but not the second.
so why don’t i just immediately assume that the third is true? because of oliver’s dip-cake. charles says that the only dip he has in the fridge is norwegian red herring. yk, like the trope of a red herring… a clue that is an intentional misdirect in a story. i think that the dip flavour is not at all a random choice. and since the only major clue we get in that scene is the review, then that review is probably a red herring (trope, not dip).
another thought about donna: last episode, we saw her throwing up in the bathrooms (which she blames on stress) and adjusting her hair. someone on one of my posts told me that she appeared to be wearing a wig (/edit/ thank you to @kimbearablykute for that comment!). obviously, wearing a wig could be because of a massive number of things, from having alopecia, to being a married orthodox jewish woman, to simply liking wigs. however, for the purposes of this theory, im gonna assume that it’s another symptom alongside the vomiting… and hair loss + vomiting makes me think chemotherapy. the reason she was "in and out of the party all night" as our podcasters say, could be because she was throwing up or otherwise feeling tired and ill all night.
i honestly don’t know yet what her possible chemo (and therefore, cancer) will have to do with everything else. just a musing at this point. maybe it will be a driving reason as to why she would commit murder for her son’s sake? cause she’s already dying so she can sacrifice herself, plus she has little time left to get him his success? or perhaps it will be the reason she’s innocent? maybe being sick from chemo is why she was frequently absent from the party, and surveillance footage can prove she was just going to the bathrooms to throw up? maybe it will prove that she wouldn’t have the strength to fight ben and push him down the elevator? although, with the element of surprise on your side, i don’t think it would be too hard to push someone down the elevator shaft.
perhaps she is the poisoner, and the review is just a red herring because that’s not her real motive. her real motive… is… um… okay im stuck.
tobert was conveniently right outside ben’s dressing room, just after the cookie had been delivered. if donna didn’t do that part, then it’s possible that he did. he’s also still on the possible suspects list for the second murder, and that list is getting increasingly narrower. he now has a motive for the second murder at least - being fired by ben on opening night. he got fired too late to have poisoned the cookies of course, so i think he might be in the clear for the first one.
i’ll be annoyed if it’s someone obscure, like bobo. or some already very established background character, like howard or uma or sazz pitazz. that would make it feel like the writers have just pulled it out their asses. like "deus ex machina" meets "the butler did it". is there a word for that?
anyway, moving on.
i think it’s very possible that cliff had something to do with the first or second (or both) murder attempts. same motive as donna, really: upset that the play wasn’t going to plan, not wanting to let it ruin his reputation before it had even begun, and therefore killing the lead (shitty) actor to prevent the play from ever being seen. donna might give herself in for him, much like meryl streep has confessed for dickie’s sake. i feel that cliff could definitely have been the second murderer, either wanting to protect his mother if she committed the first attempt on ben’s life, or simply fighting/assaulting him near the elevators and possibly accidentally pushing him over the ledge. something like that. or maybe for the same reasons we suspect donna, or maybe because he realised how much better off he was when ben was believed to be dead.
lowkey what if cinda actually did do this one? i mean, she’s always put forth as a possible suspect and is always the wrong choice, so it’s unlikely. but maybe she really wants to get back to podcasting, so she killed a famous guy. idk.
who else can i even suspect… maxine (the reviewer)? well she’s only been around a little bit, and if the review is a red herring, then that seems to count her out. the guy who lives in the attic at the theatre? seems like he was introduced too late and too briefly.
the doctor feeding ben drugs? actually i guess that’s possible, and he may even be the attic guy since they dress the same… i think the killer had to have been behind some of the sandbag and light shenanigans in Ghost Light (s3e6), and attic guy would have had access. doctor would have motive if he was trying to prevent ben from exposing the fact that he’s just giving out drugs.
speaking of people with access to the sandbags and lights: the paper shredder was in KT’s office… is she too obscure to have been the murderer? we don’t see much of her though. but she has been noted to have some anger issues in this latest ep, her office was suspiciously locked on opening night, and actually she could have the same motive of donna or cliff, to keep the shitty show from premiering.
just to keep track, i think that joy, kimber, ty, loretta, dickie and jonathan have been clearly discounted as suspects.
uh so yeah i’m super tired and that’s all my thoughts for tonight! thanks folks! i might update this when i get up, but it’s 2am and i have stuff to do tomorrow so i need some sleep now lol.

do you think aryn not having bangs for howard is for standardization? i’d love to see that hairstyle on her!
I think its half standarization half her bangs being in a style that can be pulled back. So far we have five cases of Howards having a front styling that is not just pulled back. And while I think all can be explained with their haircuts, there are other factors into place: hair type, thickness, amount, direction of growth, etc.
Tumblr media
Becca Wickes has straight bangs that are cut really wide, so while the front might be long enough to pull back the sides probably don't reach the ponytail. Also I think this was a case of the creative team deciding they liked the bangs look because she wore the ponytail to the front anyway (more about that in a bit).
Tumblr media
김려원 (Kim Ryeo-won) has long layered bangs to the sides close to what you would call curtain bangs in western styles. While her bangs would reach the ponytail the layering would make it tricky to lay completely flat and last for an entire show so instead her hair is styled to the sides with some of the shorter strands styled in the middle.
Tumblr media
허솔지 (Heo Sol-ji) has a simmilar cut but longer. I think it could be possible for her to get the usual style but maybe to give both distinct styles or maybe to be more in line with SK hair trends she also has her bangs styled to the sides with a few strands hanging in front of her ears.
Tumblr media
Lou Henry has very short, thick and curly hair. I think at first the hair team either didnt manage to safely pull it all back or didn't like the look so she wore a base wig with styled bangs in the front as a base for the first few weeks of her run. She started wearing her own hair pulled back since (might be that her hair got long enough for it). The ponytail is set slightly towards the front instead of the back of the head probably to compensate for the lenght of her hair.
Tumblr media
Caitlyn De Kuyper has short bangs to the sides, While it seems her bangs can reach the ponytail (also set slightly towards the front) they dont look fully flat. In all her photos with her hair pulled back she uses either pins, clips or elastic bands to keep her bangs in place. The way her hair lies makes me think in her case she has thick hair that refuses to be in any direction but its natural growth. So for howard her bangs are pulled back from the side in two separate parts on each side not the front and probably held in place with pins. This will look pulled back flat from the audience but up close you can see its not.
Tumblr media
Now onto Aryn. She does have straight bangs as Becca, but her's are longer, start further back and are not as wide. Also her hair gets longer towards the side and seems to not be as thick as some of the others. All that makes it possible to fully pull back to a ponytail. I think there are probably pins holding it into place on the sides hidden by the horsehair on the crown too. And if you look closely at her photo in costume the very top of her hair is starting to get a little messy (this is post show) saying that her bangs are trying to escape the ponytail and go back to their normal position.
