ZERO DAY/CALDRE HCS
•Andre fell for Cal pretty quickly. It was a mix of Cals ‘pretty blonde boy’ looks, Andre being a loner with no real friends beforehand, and Cal just getting him in a way no one ever really has before.
•Andre introduced Cal to more heavy music. Andre likes industrial metal while Cal had only really liked grunge before. Cal also shows Andre some grunge songs. They’ll make playlists for each other every now and then.
•Cals really good at making bracelets (real ones or just those kid friendship type bracelets). He’s made countless ones for Andre. (Andre mostly wears the first one Cal ever gave him)
Andre has tried making them too but once he even gets slightly frustrated, he gives up and just tosses it into Cals lap to finish for him.
•Kinda related to prev point, Cal likes doing DIY clothes/jewelry stuff in general. It gives him something to focus on other than wanting to die all the time 💀 One of his favorite things he’s made is a bracelet made out of the tabs off of Monster Energy cans. (Andre is honestly jealous he doesn’t have one.)
•Andre had a skateboarding phase. He kinda gave up on it halfway thru the ZD plans but he did try to teach Cal how to skateboard. (No it wasn’t a excuse to touch him while trying help him steady himself on the board.. okay fr it wasn’t. Cal just wanted to try it out since he saw Andre owned a few skateboards)
Cal is a bit of a giggler so he couldn’t take Andre too seriously when he was trying to give him actually helpful advice on how to skateboard.
•If Andre was in a particularly good mood while driving, he’d sing along loudly to whatever was playing on the radio. Cal would just shake his head with a smile.
•Cal tossed around the idea of working at hot topic for a while but for some reason or another, never applied. Andres secretly disappointed bc he would have liked if Cal had a employees discount.
•When Cals really bored & just feeling ‘off’, he’ll cut different shapes and stuff on himself. He’s done stuff like hearts & a butterfly. He’ll also do words or letters like ZD, A (for Andre :P), and because he’s a Manson fan.. I think he did Marilyn Mansons MM logo at least once. What a emo /j
•Both of them like thriller & horror movies but when it comes to TV shows they are a bit different. Andre likes stuff like Ghost Hunters & shows where they try to find Bigfoot (bc hes a very imaginative guy 💀) while Cal likes game shows where he can yell out answers & go on about how the contestants are stupid with Andre. He’s also kinda interested in cooking shows which Andre hates since they’re ‘too boring’.
•Neither of them are huge readers really but if they find a book or magazine that’s interesting, they’ll let the other borrow it.
•Andre steals knives & blades out of Cals room when he’s not looking but Cal never says anything. They both know Cal will just find a way to cut somehow but Andre still does it anyways (and since Andre will ultimately do whatever Cal wants at the end of the day, If cal asks for one of his knives back enough, Andre will give it back)
•Andre is sooooo the type to punch walls. He won’t do it at home really since he doesn’t want his parents worrying about him so it leads him to like.. punching brick walls outside which is much worse for his knuckles lol. But of course Cals there to bandage it up later.
•Cal is diagnosed with a few different things but won’t really bring it up unless it really needs to be. Andre knows all of his diagnoses tho and Cal will joke that Andre has the same things (depression, autism, adhd, etc) Andre will joke that he’s perfectly fine.
•Andre kept a good amount of his toy action figures from his childhood. They are in a box in his closet.
•Cals a bit of creep because sometimes at sleepovers, he just stares at Andre sleeping. He does it without even anything going on in his mind. He’s just enamored by him. Andre has caught him doing it a few times and just groans and rolls over or tosses a pillow at Cals face

Miraculous Pinterest Pen-Pals
My favorite online interaction that I've ever had was when I was in highschool (2017-ish) I started getting really regular DMs from a person I didn't know on pinterest. They had a pfp that was Ladybug from Miraculous Ladybug and would send me posts from pinterest about the show while they excitedly talked about how cute the fanart they would send was- they did this completely in spanish.
Important context...I don't speak spanish. I took a couple school required spanish courses in middle and high school but I wasn't incredibly adept at it.
I popped their message into google translate and their excitement over a piece of fanart of the Miraculous Jewelry Box was so joyous that (despite being incredibly confused) I wanted to respond. I looked at their account and didn't recognize the name, their bio said they were 13 and I was 15 turning 16 so I didn't think I actually knew them irl but I felt bad leaving them hanging so I pulled out my old Spanish class notebooks and using my (luckily well recorded) grammar and sentence structure note guides as well as a digital Spanish dictionary (I didn't trust google translate to NOT make me sound like a fool- the Disney songs that were put through google translate many times were very popular back then, especially the song "Let It Go" so I was incredibly skeptical of Google Translate at the time.) I wrote back a response. It took me about half an hour to write a two sentence reply that essentially boiled down to "Yes I think the drawing is pretty too! I like how the artist really showed the Kwami's personalities!"
Until 2019 the two of us continued to send fan art back and forth, always adding our thoughts in Spanish. Their screen name was just a bunch of emojis and I never ended up learning their name or finding a way to contact them off of Pinterest- we had been chatting back and forth for so long I got embarrassed at the idea of admitting that I actually knew next to nothing about them and admitting that I didn't actually speak Spanish irl- for some reason it felt a little like lying that I never told them I was an English speaker and I cared enough about their opinion of me that I didn't want to disappoint them.
In 2019 though they stopped sending posts, all activity on their Pinterest stopped and a few weeks after they went silent their whole account got taken down.
I panicked, thinking something bad might've happened but the fact was that I knew nothing about them except for what you could see on their Pinterest boards. They liked miraculous ladybug, their favorite colors were blue and orange, they were likely a girl because they referred to themselves as la hija menor de mi madre once when talking about their relationship with their siblings and their fights over who got to use the TV. They liked lolita fashion and dogs and those DIY Decoden phone case/card decoration things, but other than that I knew nothing about them.
I think about them pretty often, especially when I see Miraculous Ladybug content- honestly the memories they gave me might be the only real reason I'm still active in Miraculous Fandom despite not having watched past the Chat Blanc episode.
While I miss them, or at least regret that out interactions got cut off so harshly, being their Pinterest Pal, being their friend made me really hopeful about creating connections with others- especially people with overlapping interests. Being their friend really let me know that being loud about your likes was important because it could lead to the most unlikely of bridges.

narnia headcanons
Tumblr media
topic: celebrating christmas with the pevensies.
lucy and you take charge of decking out cair paravel for christmas, using whatever materials you can find in narnia. lucy's all about that diy life, so she insists on making everything herself.
she's all about those homemade decorations, while susan is more of a store-bought kinda girl. but lucy knows exactly how to guilt trip susan into letting her do her own thing, and susan eventually caves.
lucy goes all out, making garlands out of holly and ivy, and she's a pro at painting wooden snowflakes. she turns your place into a winter wonderland with her crafty skills.
peter and edmund take on the responsibility of greeting and managing the guests, but their approaches couldn't be more different. peter is all serious and professional about it.
on the other hand, edmund can't resist the temptation of the cookie tray intended for the guests. he slyly devours the cookies, thinking he's being sneaky.
when peter catches him in the act and asks about the missing cookies, edmund playfully argues that their role was pretty dull, so he was just adding a bit of excitement by munching on the treats.
susan takes the lead in preparing the epic christmas feast, and she means business. she's like a gordan ramsay in the kitchen, all professional and intense.
she's a cooking genius, and her dishes always come out on top. but let me tell you, she's not one to mess around. if a single sprinkle dares to be out of place on a cupcake, she'll lose her cool in an instant.
with susan in charge, the christmas feast becomes a culinary masterpiece. every dish is flawlessly cooked and beautifully presented, thanks to her attention to detail and high standards. you better believe it's going to be a feast to remember!
so, after all the guests make their exit, it's gift time! and guess what? peter and the others come up with the coolest idea—a treasure hunt just for you!
they leave these cute little notes all over the place, showing their appreciation and guiding you to your present.
finally, you find your gift, wrapped in your absolute favourite colour paper. lucy's attention to detail totally pays off, making it extra special.
you rip open the wrapping with excitement, and the siblings are bursting with anticipation. and what do you find? a handmade wooden jewelry box, decked out with intricate carvings of golden leaves on the lid. talk about fancy!
as you open the box, there it is—a beautiful necklace that susan personally chose just for you. it's the perfect match for your style, and you can't help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
oh, and let's not forget the handwritten card from edmund. yeah, he's not big on showing affection, so that card means something. it's like a little treasure of its own, reminding you of the special bond you all share.

Top 5 Hobbies for a Kawaii Lifestyle
Originally posted to www.onlyfunthings.org on January 11, 2019
Tumblr media
Ciao lovelies! Today here’s 5 “Kawaii Lifestyle” Hobbies!
Now before I begin, I want to say that these hobbies are NOT the only hobbies that can be included in a “Kawaii Lifestyle”! You could do anything for hobbies and still lead a kawaii life. These are just some hobbies that may be considered “Kawaii” traditionally/stereotypically.
So now, let’s get into this super cute hobby list!
#1- Toy Collecting! Many Kawaii Lifestylers that I know of, myself included, collect toys! Some collect vintage toys, some collect modern and some collect both! Toy collecting can be very fun for many reasons. For one, if you have a more childish nature/if you’re an age regressor, you can play with the toys! For two, your toy collection can make great kawaii décor! Toys come in all shapes and colors and sizes, so you can carefully select what you want to display! Some Kawaii toys to collect that I recommend: Num-Noms!
As well as: Calico Critters (also known as Sylvanian Families), Shopkins Lil Secrets (Which are a lot like old school Polly Pockets), Squishies, Molang figures, Monster High Minis….ect!
And going right along with toy collecting is…
#2- Toy Photography / Doll Photography! Another super fun and “kawaii” hobby is toy photography! Toys and dolls can be easier photo subjects (sometimes) than humans in my opinion because you can pose them exactly how you imagine, and you can take many shots while they hold the same pose! There are many highly poseable kawaii dolls like Monster High, Ever After High, Made-To-Move Barbie, and even BJD!
#3- Crafting/DIY! A big part of Kawaii subculture which isn’t really talked about enough in my opinion is the amount of crafty kawaii lifestylers! I’ve seen so many crafty kawaii lifestylers who make their own clothes, jewelry, accessories, décor… but yet I don’t see much discussion about it, and it can be hard to find good craft tutorials online for that specific niche! But crafty-ness is a big part of kawaii culture! I’ve even recently discovered a good place to get some kawaii stickers and beads for cute resin and jewelry projects, Blippo.com ! Blippo has many very kawaii items for pretty cheaply, just the other night I ordered a BUNCH of stuff for under $12 and free shipping, as well as a free mystery welcome gift! (my full review of Blippo is coming soonish, my orders are still in post). Another great place to find kawaii craft supplies is Aliexpress using search terms like “Kawaii Cabochon” and others like that. Just remember that Aliexpress is similar to Amazon/Ebay and you should always check the reviews before buying anything! (Note- this post was not sponsored by either of these sites, this is just my own opinion).
#4- Baking! Baking can be so much fun, and you don’t even need to make things from scratch to have a good time! Want to know a secret? Some of the best cakes I’ve ever made were with a modified box mix! One of my best tips is: “To make a boxed cake mix really amazing, follow the directions on the box EXCEPT: add 1 more egg than what it calls for, instead of using oil use melted butter (and double the amount), instead of water use milk!” This tip I found on Pinterest, and I’ve used it several times to make some of the best cakes and cupcakes I’ve ever made! ….So I bet you’re wondering how this hobby is particularly “kawaii”? Well, the decorating of course! Decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies and more is one of the best parts of baking! You can make the baked good as kawaii as you want!
#5- Journaling! I know I mentioned this briefly in Wednesday’s post, but let’s talk quickly about how to make this kawaii. Again, you can use sites like Blippo.com to find cute stickers, washi tape, pens and pencils! You can also doodle in your journal and draw cute things like flowers, animals, and chibis! You can also press flowers in a journal for extra cute-ness.
What do you think of our suggestions? What do you consider to be “kawaii” hobbies? Let us know in the comments!
Remember to Stay Awesome and Love Yourself!

a couple folks who watched me mess around with crafts and amateur mask making thought I should document the process, idk if anyone would be interested in all that here, but it was a process alright.
I wanted to try to do it as cheap as possible while trying to aim for the best quality I could, most of what I bought for it was just a styrofoam head to build off as a base, some cheap plasticine that feels nasty and greasy and smells unpleasant but it's reusable at least, some plaster, PVA glue and some little tubs of glaze and gesso.
I decided I was going to try using that diy recycled craft paper I've seen people make so that was a whole tangent. I never liked that newspaper strips as paper mache just kind of peel and make things nasty, which isn't what I wanted. I figured not having a grain in the same way, being softer and more pliable would be the advantage of diy paper.
I made a deckle and mould by dismantling a shallow rectangular jewelry box I picked up off the side of the road with a hammer - pretty, uhm, roughly, I only meant to take the bottom out of the box and the top out of the lid so I'd have two matching frames, but kind of smashed it to bits, I found a bunch of bulldog clips to hold it back together. The rig works, but it's chaotic at best, hahaha
I absolutely wasn't going to use the blender for making paper pulp, I found a beat up old stick mixer that broken down entirely not long after I'd started using it. I mainly made my pulp by squashing it up with my hands after letting it soak for 12 hours, which took at least a couple of hours to do myself. I tried also mashing it up like how the ancient Greeks made wine: by putting it in a tub and stomping, but I can't say that was particularly effective and mostly it made an ungodly mess.
So, I built my mask's face off the styrofoam head and cast it in plaster, which worked well except that the nose broke. Combination of not using enough to reinforce that area and the fact that I used a strip of cardboard to support the plasticine I built up for the nose, and it absorbed the dampness of the wet plaster and kind of... exacerbated the problem I think by making it structurally less stable.
The casting tutorial suggested vaseline to grease the inside of the mold but I wasn't sure we had any so I substituted with a chunk of soap I cut off a bar and made into a paste. I think that worked fine.
my first cast wasn't great, I pulled the mask out too quickly and the texture of all the paper that was stuck to the inside and then quickly stuck back to the mask lost a lot of the details. I also tried building up some of the damaged parts with this one - definitely better to cast well the first time than try to fix a botched mask, it lost even more integrity because of how the wet paper being added and extra weight made it lose shape. The whole bridge of the nose kind of collapsed in on itself.
The second cast I did with pure paper pulp since I had lots of it left, and it crumbled apart when I pulled it out, but even the chunks of it I had were much more promising - they felt smooth and got more of the details of the wrinkles in the plaster mould.
Third one is the one in the post linked above, a layer of pulp followed by diy paper strips... idk what it is, you'd expect it to be sort of similar since one is just dried out paper pulp, but something about the process of letting it form a kind of membrane on the surface of the deckle before drying it gives it a more cohesive quality. I used plenty of paste in this run too.
The nose unfortunately still had to be rebuilt at the tip but I was cautious not to get any of the other bits of the mask wet. I think 48 hours is probably like, Bare Minimum for drying time, especially for more porous materials - I'm currently drying a fifth one, the fourth was cast with pulp I made from bark just for the hell of it, and it was still pretty damp even after sitting it in front of the gas heater on and off for 2 days. I mean hell, I have the mould now, might as well use it.
I also tried to recast the nose so we'll see if that works, it wasn't too much of an ordeal to stick some plasticine in there and try to reshape it.
The first cast also ended up being my decorating test run, I wanted to see if just glazing over sharpie instead of painting would work - it's alright, but there's probably better techniques. The thing about drawing anything elaborate directly onto the mask is that it's hard to get pen into the wrinkles, you're better drawing on paper separately and decoupaging it on I reckon.
Oh, did you know sharpie marker bleeds through gesso and acrylic paint? I've tried to paint over stuff and it always kind of amazes me how penetrative alcoholic pen marks are when the paint dries, even when applied really thick.
I managed to draw on the gold lines with metallic sharpie in my first run but it didn't work the second time - I think drawing over paint might have damaged the marker? - so I sort of improvised with the metallic string. My mum likes collecting ribbons and strings and coloured paper for gifts so I nicked a bunch of those things. The pansy bead on the forehead came from a button shop and the tiny one on the bridge of the nose actually came from my great grandmother's collection of beads that I inherited :')
Ah, and the staining - before I went over with a medium gloss glaze I tried to get that, what is it, distressed? varnished? that kind of darker brown that makes the masks look aged and gets into the crevices, emphasizing the wrinkles very nicely. I tried tea and coffee as a kind of stain, the coffee worked a lot better - there's still some grains stuck around the mask's cheek, haha. I also used the coffee to stain the skewers I'm thinking of using for quills (they aren't completely stuck on yet.
The thread is partially pushed through the mask to keep it in place and make sure it doesn't just peel off, I used pins to pin it to the mask and pva glue to keep it in position, removing the pins after it dried. I stitched the ribbon onto the back before I glued it down and sealed it all over with gesso. I'm not 100% on how sturdy it is but I'm hoping it holds.
... I think that's where I'm at with it so far, I might decorate the "quills" more with beads or something. idk yet.

Some creative gift ideas for all the uncreative people out there who are sick of giving basic ass gifts (budget friendly)
- Go to the store. Find your way to the candle aisle. Now what you’re gonna do is smell candles until you find one that has a smell that reminds you of the person you’re gifting for. Buy it. When you get home, get out your computer and get on canva. Make a custom label with the person’s name on it, the fragrance notes, and a short, sweet description of that person and why those smells remind you of them. Then print it out and make it into a sticker (you can easily make a sticker with large clear tape over the print, just look up DIY stickers). Take off the original label and put the hand made sticker on instead. If you want, you could even make a candle out of wax melts, a mason jar, and some wicks if you feel like it.
- If you are good with crafts, USE THOSE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.
-If you can knit or crochet, make a blanket, scarf, a pair of mittens, or a stuffed animal.
- Take a picture frame. Get a printed picture of you and the person. Press flowers (if you’re lazy, you can literally press flowers in the microwave in less than two minutes. Look it up.). Arrange the flowers and picture in the frame how you want (be sure to wear gloves and clean the glass first! You dont want there to be eternal fingerprints on the glass!) and grab the tacky glue. Gently apply a small dab of tacky glue to each flower and glue it firmly in place. Do the same with the picture. Close up the frame, wrap, and you are GOLDEN.
- Go to the store. Grab a travel cup or mug (or go to the person’s favorite coffee shop and buy a travel mug there). Go to the candy aisle. Grab a bag of their favorite candy, along with two king sized candy bars, and any other little knickknacks you think they might like. Put it all in the cup and put on the lid.
- Grab a box. Figure out the person’s favorite color. Go to Dollar Tree, Five Below, Walmart, Target, wherever you want. Just find things in that person’s favorite color. Socks, gloves, candy, drinks, accessories, gift cards, candles, soaps, anything. Grab some easter basket filler paper (idk what it’s actually called) in that color (or if it doesn’t come in that color, do black or white. Those will do.) and some construction paper in that color. Now, add the filler paper, then the knickknacks, then glue or tape the construction paper to the inside of the cardboard lid. Write a note if you want. Wrap it up and you are good to go.
-Make jewelry. Trust me. All you need is a chain, a clasp, some charms/beads, and a pair of pliers. The rest is kind of self explanatory but if you don’t understand this explanation for some reason feel free to ask.
- Put together a small thrifted surprise box for the person (wash the clothes first though and make sure they’re okay with that sort of thing!)
- Make something out of clay. Jewelry, room decor, etc.
- Go find one of those letter cutout boxes with the letter of their first initial. Find fake flowers in their favorite color (you can probably find this at dollar tree), then go find a bunch of small knickknacks like jewelry, candy, soaps, etc. Grab floral foam. Fill the letter box with floral foam (if you want, spray paint the box first) Stab the flowers into the floral foam. Grab kabob sticks, cut to desired length. Tape the knickknacks to the kabob sticks and stab them into the floral foam like you did the flowers.
- Go to a thrift store. First go to the basket section. Find a picnic basket. Then go find some teacups, a small charcuterie board, pretty plates, and maybe some pretty silverware (or if you think it would be weird to do silverware from a thrift store, grab it from walmart or target or smth) If you’re an adult, go ahead and find a wine glass or two. After that, you want to go to Walmart. Find a picnic blanket, or a picnic table cloth. If you get the picnic table cloth and have ametuer sewing skills, grab two. Then grab some of the person’s favorite snacks and drinks. Go home and put it all together in the basket. If you chose to grab two table cloths so you can sew, measure the interior of the picnic basket and (assuming it’s square) cut out the dimensions on one of the table cloths and sew them together into a “box” (pattern facing the inside of the box, fuzzy part outside) and put the “box” inside the picnic basket. Now it has a cute, protective interior inside, and the other tablecloth can be used as a picnic blanket. Once its all arranged, you have made a cute picnic set for the person!
- Find a book you like, reread it, and annotate it for them. Then wrap it up. Typically you want a new book for this.
- Go to a craft store. Buy a baseball cap or a cute hat with nothing on it, or if you want, grab a tote bag or something. Grab fabric paint. Custom paint the item for the person.

‘80′s Goths (aka Trad Goths)
A thing I wrote about '80's Goth style in response to a comment from an obviously younger person commenting on the '80's make up video from the previous aggregate.
Early Goth basically grew out of Punk with a lot of metal and some new wave thrown in.  Goth had no sub-genres yet because those didn't develop until some point in the '90's.  It was all just Goth.  You can see the cross pollination in the music of the period.  Sisters of Mercy is as quintessentially as '80's Goth as it gets, and you can hear how heavy their sound is compared to the also very Goth Smiths at the other end of the sound spectrum.  Goths of my era listened to an eclectic mix of stuff.  It was totally reasonable to be a Goth and also like Metallica (Metal), and classic Punk and poppier new wave influenced things like Depeche Mode.
Glam hadn't really been a thing since we were kids.  Bowie wasn't Glam himself by the time Goth was happening, remember, though some of us DID look back stylistically to his Ziggy Stardust Era which you can see in the corsets and make up choices, but you can also see a lot of new wave in hair and make up mixed in with the original punk and some metal influence.  Clothing was often where punk and metal really mixed.
My first Mohawk was black, but my second in early '89 was a dark purple.  Goths were allowed to have whatever hair.  Not everyone could afford hair dye in the era before the brighter cheaper colours came in.  Again, it's a matter of what you could afford and what you had access to.  I saved up to get mine done professionally, but we were in the era of bleach and Koolaid options as well as people repurposing DIY hair products.  If you had dark hair, you could get bright orange with Sun In for example.  Yes, black was most common and you actually could buy black Clairol or the like, which made it the most popular option, but most popular doesn't mean only option.
You can't really separate the 80's Goth Look from the '80's Goth Music because the two things were so intertwined and so much what early Goth was as a culture.
Something it is super hard to make people who didn't start dressing this way until after commodification really grasp is just how DIY early Goth was.  You couldn't just go to a store and buy Goth clothes and jewelry at first.  By the end of the decade you could buy an ankh necklace because of things like sandman, but most of the jewelry was handmade by the people wearing it or other Goths, selling it, often on blankets while they made more, or it was vintage stuff that had be repurposed, bought from second hand stores or raided from older relatives.  Building a goth wardrobe was exhausting and time consuming and often involved patience.
Finding clothes was an endless round of scavenger hunting and DIY and repurposing.  Most of us were very poor and again, nothing was made for us except a few things other impoverished Goths made at the end of the decade.  Basically, think etsy only without the internet, so consignment stores and craft fairs and little pop up carts next to those people selling their jewelry on blankets and really that's more an early '90's thing.
We would scouer second hand shops.  Luckily places like Good Will were not as picked over then.  We looked through old boxes of elder relative's clothes.  We learned to do it yourself dye things that were a good cut but the wrong color.  We used to make things or repurpose things or patch things together out of multiple pieces and maybe some netting.  We learned to add trims and frills if we were into that.  We bodged things together with safety pins like the punks we grew out of.  We made do.
Yes really, some people had things with glittery fabrics some times or beading or lace or sequins.  It depended entirely on your taste and what you could find or knew how to make.  Some of the nuance is lost in the photos because this was an era of Polaroids and film photography and some stuff aged better than others.
There was no uniform.  No one true style.  No mass production.  Everything was individual.  I can not describe '80's goth in terms of strict criteria because that criteria didn't exist.  It should NOT exist now.  We knew Goth when we saw or heard it.  That was enough.
I think this is why so many of us Elder Goths go ballistic when someone starts trying to police or gate keep Goth.  (Except for literal NAZIs who can fuck right off.  We don't want them, whatever they are calling themselves that decade.  It's the same thing as the Punk community self-policeing over that).  Anything else? It's like Gender: you are Goth if you say you are Goth.  Work out your own version of what that means.
So yes, purple hair in the late '80's is historically accurate.  Yes, you could have things like a glittery or sequined or beaded shirt or sweater or dress for those who wore dresses or skirts.  (Some Goth clothing was gendered; some was super androgynous.  A lot of '80's and '90's goths were some brand of queer, gender-nonconforming, trans, and or what we'd now call non-binary, but back then we mostly called ourselves androgynous.  Some cis men wore skirts because they liked how they looked or found them comfortable.  A lot of them switched to kilts later on, but not always.  In the late '80's-early '90's Goth culture was full of people playing with gender expression for a host of reasons).
There was a mainstream trend for fancy tights and pantyhose with designs or glitter or different colours in them.  Goths could actually find black pantyhose and tights and fishnets at a reasonable price in mainstream stores.  Some of the panty hose had cute little patterns on them, usually at the ankles or up the back, but also all over sometimes.  some were glittery or extra shiny.  It was fine!  It was the same with lace and fishnet and long satin elbow gloves mostly thanks to Madonna.  This is why you see old trad goths wearing these types of accessories.  You could afford them!  You didn't have to hand make them!  The bead and cross and rosary thing was because you could buy those cheap at stores because mainstream people also wore them.   Thanks to people like Cyndi Lauper and Madonna creating a mainstream market for accessories we could use too.
Our subculture hasn't been properly captured in media it's easy to access.  Most of Goths in movie or TV in the '80's and early '90's were stereotypes made or chosen by people who weren't goth either to demonize us as part of a moral panic or as a punchline or a freak show.  The fair representation is in the photographs taken of goths by goths at the time and in the memories of Elder Goths like me.
Trust me, the Karolina Żebrowska makeover looks just fine to me, within the range of what people were wearing then.  She could have walked into a club or a house party and fit right the fuck in.  Looking at her made me a little nostalgic for the scent of clove cigarettes even though I'm allergic.  She did just fine.

a/n: I thought about this so much, it has occupied my brain indefinitely. By this title I mean that they are living in the same apartment and some of them are going to work and some to college and stuff (they're in their early 20s)
the times they've forgotten that one of them is taking a shower and walked right in on them are countless
"hey Gareth, did you happen to see the red blank- OH MY GOD I'M SORRY"
"EDDIE HOW MANY TIMES DID I TELL YOU TO KNOCK"
they have their fun
movie nights are a must
before living together they had constant sleepovers (talked about this with @spookyscarydemonbabe , go check out their posts!) but now, they can have them everyday!!!
though it's not everyday because they also have jobs and stuff to do, they are very frequent
no matter if they're touring with the band or if all have their individual jobs to put them through college or even a stable job (mechanic!Eddie and History Professor!Gareth 👀), they find time to spend together
CAN YOU IMAGINE THE CONSTANT MUSIC IN THAT APARTMENT
all of them playing different metal songs from their individual rooms at full volume
or even when they hear one of the others listening to something they know, they start screaming the song with them through the door
then the other responds by singing even louder
and at that point they just burst right through the door
I'm convinced they share clothes and jewelry/accessories and I will die on that hill
"Grant, I swear to god did you steal my pirate necklace again?" "No, I borrowed your pirate necklace again."
Gareth finally teaches Eddie how to take care of his curls properly
I'm sure Gareth has a lot of knowledge on hair care and skin care routines (just self-care in general) from all those teen magazines his little sisters read with him
now he's using his knowledge for a greater good
at first when they move in they're short on money, so they start decorating it and making it more metal by crafting things (mostly DIY stuff)
stuff like, they painted an old wooden shelf they thrifted black and drew DND dice on it, or getting
if something breaks Eddie and Gareth are the ones to fix it
if it's something like a lightbulb then it's Gareth. but if the freezer broke, it's Eddie's job (appliances breaking were a frequent thing for him at the trailer so Wayne taught him everything he knew)
Jeff is the first to scream at the sight of a bug
Grant ignores Jeff's screams as Eddie tries to save the bug from being killed by Gareth
in the end the bug is safely put on the balcony for it to fly away, with a pouting Gareth and a nearly-had-a-panic-attack-over-a-bug-and-now-checking-every-corner-of-the-house Jeff
if one of them takes someone home after and they're still there the next morning, they are all very respectful
Jeff and Grant are even making everybody breakfast (Eddie can't cook for shit and Gareth can only bake)
sure it'll be a bit awkward but they're good at small talk, and if their friend liked this person they can't be all that bad can they?
I'll take a moment to say I kind of headcanon all of them as bisexual
maybe Jeff has a preference for women and Eddie for men
now, their normal mornings
if this apartment has 4 different bedrooms I'm guessing it's going to have 2 bathrooms
the whole morning is everybody shouting at everybody to get out of the bathroom because they have to get ready
since Gareth taught Eddie how to take care of his hair, he's taking hours in there
Grant is very close to smashing down the bathroom door every morning
Jeff is the best at cooking so he makes breakfast for everyone, if he's not there then Gareth's making pancakes
Eddie would probably just eat cereal out of the box, so any other thing is luxury (same honestly)
Grant is very picky about his breakfast, he needs some protein in there or he'll be without energy for the rest of the day
on that note, the coffee drinkers are Eddie and Jeff, while Grant and Gareth prefer tea
Gareth says he has enough energy from his ADHD
they all have their own slippers, all funny ones with animals and characters (yk the ones with Homer Simpson's face? yeah, like that)
they also have tons of mugs, which are a frequent gift from Wayne (yes he gives presents to all of them for their birthdays and Christmas, he's very grateful that his kid has such amazing friends)
Modern!Corroded Coffin would share a Netflix account
they SAY they watch horror movies but in reality they're watching all the kids shows, like How To Train A Dragon, My Little Pony and Pokémon
even all the Equestria Girls movies, they know all the songs by heart, especially the ones from Rainbow Rock, 'cause yk, the battle of the bands
Gareth has a crush on Astrid (don't we all)
all of them still get advent calendars (full knowing that it's a marketing scheme) and in the morning they all open theirs together
I can't even imagine them during covid quarantine, secluded in one little apartment for the four of them
they would probably have started killing each other
their couch is probably filled with food crumbs, since they often eat on it
some stains too, from spilled sodas
maybe ripped a bit, but it's theirs so it doesn't matter
Grant reminds Gareth to take his ADHD meds because he has the best memory out of the 4
they probably caught Eddie taking a dic pic for Steve☠️
they have videogame nights
because the four of them are already there, most Hellfire nights are hosted in their apartment, meaning they have to hear Steve (Dustin and the others' ride) complain about the mess all the time
pretty sure Erica's also complaining
none of them have ever bought a calendar so they never know what day it si, they just turn on the TV to know at this point
having said that, they also never find the remote
"EDDIE WHERE DID YOU OUT THE FUCKING REMOTE?" "I PUT IT RIGHT THERE ON THE SOFA." "THEN WHY IS IT IN THE FUCKING SHOWER?"
they have treasure hunts every night, they also make a game out of it
whoever finds it first gets to eat most of the microwave popcorn
I'll probably make a part 2 to this in the future, I have SO MANY IDEAS

RFA with a scenekid MC
707, yoosung kim, jumin han, zen, jaehee kang
Tumblr media
707/SAEYOUNG CHOI:
absolutely loves your style
lets you set up a work area by his desk for your jewelry / DIY projects!
not a huge fan of stepping on loose beads but hey, there's worse things to step on
thinks it's so interesting if you make kandi with can tabs or toys, or just general jewelry with stuff you find in the house. he admires all the creativity that goes into your projects
if you make clothes/masks with beads he is always so proud of you and the results, even if they're not as expected. he voices that very loudly; you're his 606, of course he's proud of your work!
if saeyoung has a lot of agency work, and you have unfinished projects, his favorite thing is both of you working in silence on your own projects, just enjoying the others presence. you being around always helps him focus and if its the same for you, he's more than happy to sit with you while you work
LOVES your music taste, especially if it's more electro
if you make him anything, jewelry or otherwise, he will 100% tear up and wear/use/show it off forever. he adores whatever you give him, regardless of what it is.
YOOSUNG KIM:
100% steals your clothes
kind of copies some of your jackets and hoodies, putting his own patches in similar places so you match (though if you do it for him he will never take it off. he's terrified of your work getting messed up if he does, so it's definitely a hassle cleaning it)
his apartment's not all that big, so you both manage to do your own things or work together on projects in his bedroom. when it's not being used, he'll let you stack bead boxes and supplies on his PC (though they will quickly get ((gently)) discarded to the floor when he decides its LOLOL time)
more a fan of "quieter" scene music, though he can absolutely get behind some hyperpop or nightcore
if you make him anything (and i mean anything) he will cry, on the spot, and keep it forever. if it breaks, or tears, he'll put it on his desk and refuse to touch it until you can fix it (╥﹏╥) poor boy feels awful even if its just string snapping from being worn too much
definitely tries his hand at Kandi making for a few months and ultimately lets it fade out like the majority of his intrests
JUMIN HAN:
not a giant fan of the music but he admires the effort you put into your projects
will beg you and beg you to make Elizabeth accessories, and after that it's
"well, she can't be alone, we should have matching bracelets - and colar, in her case - with Elizabeth. ....we should have matching ones, can we have matching ones (Y/N)?"
he will wear it everywhere and shows it to his dad all excited once you make them
"look at what my lovely (husband/wife/spouse) made us, they're very talented. Elizabeth has one too."
always adores anything you give him, no matter how small; it's still a gift, and he cherishes them
gives you a whole room in the penthouse for your work!
he sets it up while you're off with Jaehee or another RFA member, making sure to add posters from your favorite games/shows/movies/ext. he blows so much money on the set-up and is so pleased with himself when he gets your reaction
always makes an effort to resupply anything you're running low on, asked or not.
if you diy any clothes for him he will wear them out, reputation be damned
tries getting you to sell (or at least promote, c'mon y/n) your work at the RFA Parties with V's pictures
has never seen an episode of Invader Zim in his life, probably never will unless you ask, but he thinks gir is cute.
this just in jumin han is a Gir enjoyer
JAEHEE KANG:
like seven, enjoys the more electro side of your music tastes
",,,,if i can ask, can you make me something related to this play zen was in--" his biggest fan even through your work lmao
if you diy her any clothes, those are now her favorite home/sleep clothes
same with jewelry, though she'll find a way to incorporate those into her work outfits so she can subtly show them off
just like the others, admires all of your work every single time. kandi single? "that's so nice, (Y/N)! I love the colors" kandi cuff? "that's very impressive! i like the patterns :)" necklace with a toy connected? pearler? your spin on toy jewelry from a game you had as a kid? doesn't matter, she looks at all of your projects as a whole play of their own. she loves hearing the inspiration behind each peace
her favorite peaces are the ones where your spiel of inspiration is something really simple, like "haha i thought this would look funky, so i made it!" like- that little bit of thought made *this*? she's amazed.
if you make pearlers or things of that nature, and give some to her, she *will* put that on her lanyard. she will find a way.
ZEN/HYUN RYU:
god please make him something, little as it may be, he will never take it off
he has more sense than Yoo if it's clothes, though. just "be careful, (y/n), i know you know how to do it but be careful i really like that one—"
gets all flustered the first few times you give him something you made. some part of his brain cant wrap itself around the fact not only is he with such a wonderful creative person but you're using that creativity on him, he's honored
if you send him anything revolving around "rawr, i love you in dinosaur!! x3" he will seriously start saying Rawr. he wants to tell you he loves you in any way he can, wether that be in korean, english, or dinosaur, he's doing it
he'll humor all of your music, from the most whitenoise sounding hyperpop to stuff like Hollywood Undead. more a fan of nightcore/daycore though
if you make/give him any bracelets he absolutely wears them when he's acting, modeling, performing, exct if he can. he loves showing off your work :)

Hey! For Trystan x Nora:
What foods will they not touch?
Do they wear jewelry?
Do they prefer luxury or practicality?
What are their guilty pleasures?
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sending me this, Elsa!! This was so so fun to answer <3 much love!
> send me some character asks
What foods will they not touch?
Nora is not too keen on anything that is boxed - all the "homemade DIY" kits, the frozen wontons. She had a traditional upbringing where her parents implored upon the satisfaction of a good, homecooked meal and sometimes, it's the process that teaches you dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ever since then, she's sort of grown up to dislike anything that is boxed, pre-made or packaged and are those one-minute dinner things. She still splurges on instant pasta though. That you can never take away from her.
Trystan absolutely loathes New York bread - at least the ones in restaurants. From a culture that has perfected the art of breadmaking, he likes to think of himself as a purist-adjacent. In his eight years of being there, Trystan has probably consumed the bread a few number of times and has sincerely disliked all of that. He's one of those people who bakes them himself, distraught that there aren't a lot of variety nor decent ingredients. However, he is partial to the bagels. He tells everyone he hates them but loves them secretly.
Do they wear jewelry?
Nora doesn't wear a lot since they become a work hazard when she's on active duty. The most she wears is a locket that belonged to her Mom and a pair of earrings.
Trystan is the polar opposite. He enjoys collecting rings, because they make him look very Godfather-esque (even though he's never seen the Godfather) and wearing them too. He wears an earring as well - the slip-on ones that aren't much of a hassle. Cufflinks, not exactly jewelry, but something he appreciates. Bracelets. He's a kid in a candy store when he passes by all those pop-up jewelry shops. They needn't be all diamond-encrusted or anything. He appreciates virtually anything.
Do they prefer luxury or practicality?
Now, under normal circumstances, Nora would make an argument about how not everything is "black and white" but she could definitely use some luxury in her life. To her, luxury isn't anything fancy, rather the ability for her to sit at home and not have to constantly worry about a million different things. Have an opportunity to help her anxiety attacks without drowning them in caffeine and making it worse. It is time. She loves spending good time for herself or with her loved ones and that is luxury to her. She definitely works towards it, anyway. At the end of the day, the money and satisfaction she earns from clients, puts her to sleep.
It is still a work in progress for her, because she's not used to being so kind on herself. Usually a day-off comes with so many doubts and ends up turning into a mental breakdown day.
Trystan is practical under many circumstances. Though he might be the poster child for all the luxury in the world, he still likes to have a reasonable voice helping him out. Sometimes its him. Sometimes it's Nora telling him he doesn't need to wage a war on a local bakery for getting bread wrong. To him, practicality isn't pragmatism. It is about doing the right thing at the right time and having the right tools to deal with it. If one of them falters, he learns how to improvise on it and attempt to build a solution. Be it trying to escape a tall apartment building because they accidentally tailed after the wrong lead or trying to pick a dinner to make.
Trystan's constantly learning how to adapt. New York is definitely different from Drakkos, in the way how the cities and the cultures shape how people work. He's gotten very good at it too.
What are their guilty pleasures?
It's simple for Nora. A soda or ginger ale or a Bud Light, the Real Housewives playing on TV. Or listening to the sappiest, most romantic songs ever on the car radio. Sometimes she even puts in an audiobook, before Luke learned she'd listened to almost five hours of the Twilight books.
To Trystan, it's writing poetry. It's trash sometimes, but he loves it. He also enjoys reading recipe blogs because they come with pages and pages of backstory, which is delightful in its own way. Along with that, he secretly enjoys the tabloids. He hates them for what they've done to him and his family, but a nice story about how someone else is having a dumpster fire of a lifestory is somewhat cathartic and downright addicting.

DIY Hidden Jewelry Box
Tumblr media
Project by Kate Pruitt:
grace mentioned to me that jewelry storage is a hot topic for a lot of readers, so i set to work brainstorming some possibilities! i realized that there are basically two camps: people who like their jewelry on display (neatly of course), and people who like to hide it away (also neatly). so i am going to do two diys for jewelry storage that can satisfy both camps. the first is an attempt at hidden storage, which in this case is a mega top-secret, ninja-spy, behind-the-painting deal. i’ve always loved the idea of secret hiding places in fat old books, under rugs, and behind old paintings. this is pretty easy to rig up, especially if you have an old painting with a nice wood frame, but really any picture with a relatively wide wood frame will do fine. if you feel like you have too much jewelry to fit, this can also be a great way to store keys and mail by the entryway. or you could pair it with a nice leather bound book with a secret cutout container. have fun! – kate
Tumblr media
materials:
1. picture with wood frame (aim for a frame that is at least 1″ wide) 2. 3/4″ or 1″ square dowel (you may need two depending on how large you frame is, you basically need enough to make an identically sized frame) 3. 1″ x 2″ x 6′ plank of wood (same as the dowel, you need enough to make a frame almost identical in dimensions to your framed painting. you can also buy a 3″ thick piece instead, if you want your jewelry box to be a bit deeper) 4. hammer and small nails 5. drill and screws 6. piece of thin wood (this needs to be roughly the same dimensions as your frame, minus an inch on both the height and width) 7. roll of cork 8. scrap fabric (the same dimensions as the piece of wood 9. glue (hot glue or elmers) 10. small hinges and latch set (these are available at hardware stores and most craft stores) 11. paint (i painted mine to match the wall it was going to hang on) 12. paintbrush 13. thumb tacks 14. cup hooks 15. saw
instructions:
1. measure the dimensions of the back of your frame. subtract an inch from each dimension – these will be the dimensions of your jewelry box and the extra frame you make for the back of the painting. the box will be inset from the sides of the original frame by half and inch on all four sides.
Tumblr media
2. cut the square dowel(s) to make the four sides of the painting frame. nail them together at the corners to create a frame (sometimes i add a dab of hot glue to hold the pieces in place before i nail them together, this makes it easier). place this frame centered on the back of your painting to make sure it is the right size, and that it is inset from all four sides by at least 1/2″.
Tumblr media
3. cut the 2″ plank into identically sized pieces, but do not attach them together yet. this is the frame for your jewelry box. when you rest it on top of the frame you just nailed into the back of the painting frame, it should be completely flush on all four sides. you will see in my version it is not flush on the bottom – okay, i admit it, i was using up old scraps of wood so i just let it be a little off. but it will look a lot better if you make it completely flush. do as i say, not as i do!!
Tumblr media
4. cut the piece of thin wood to be the exact measurements of the frame you just made. now nail all four pieces of 2″ plank to the piece of wood, with the piece of wood flush to one edge of the planks. this will create a tray with 2″ sides. this is your jewelry box!
Tumblr media
5. paint the jewelry box and the frame any color you want. let those pieces dry.
6. cut and glue the cork into the tray lining the base. then cut a piece of the scrap fabric and glue that on top of the cork (if you want, this is optional. you can just leave it cork if you prefer).
7. when everything is dry and the fabric and cork backing have been glued it into the tray, nail or screw the square dowel frame onto the back of the original frame. then lay the jewelry tray on top, and check that everything is sitting evenly and the edges are flush.
8. attach the four small hinges to the left side of the picture, placing the center of the hinge at the line where the dowel frame and the jewelry tray meet. then screw the latch onto the opposite side, placing the flap part on the dowel frame, and the latch part on the jewelry tray.
Tumblr media
9. screw into the wall in the desired position with two screws in the corners of the tray. you want this to be attached directly to the wall, rather than hung like a standard picture because the door will be heavy when it opens and you will be handling it a lot. by screwing it into the wall you make sure the whole thing is sturdy and supported. you can paint the screws to hide them or cover them with little pieces of fabric.
10. open up the door by unlocking the latch, and begin composing your jewelry, using the thumbtacks and cup hooks to hold necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, etc. make sure nothing is so bulky that it prevents the door from closing, and make sure to push the thumbtacks through the cork into the wood a little for extra support.
YOU’RE DONE!!

“ME? SCARED? PSH, THAT WAS A DREAM - I MEAN, YOU ARE A DREAM - I MEAN, IN YOUR DREAMS! UGH, THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!”
INTRODUCING…
NAME: Marinette Dupain-Cheng
GENDER & PREFERRED PRONOUNS: Cis woman {She/Her}
AGE: 26
BIRTHDAY: September 15, 1996
ZODIAC: Virgo Sun, Leo Moon, Pisces Rising
MBTI: ENFJ
SEXUALITY: Bicurious
FACE CLAIM: Natasha Liu Bordizzo
LABEL: The Lucky Charm
ABILITIES: Human / Miraculous ( forgotten )
OCCUPATION: Fashion Designer
HOMETOWN: Paris, France
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Evermore
CHARACTER PLAYLIST: HERE.
UP NEXT: “NONSENSE” BY SABRINA CARPENTER
・゚゚・。 READ BIOGRAPHY HERE. 。・゚゚・
The one thing that sticks out about Marinette is how kind she is. She tends to help those who may not seem as though they deserve it. When someone is going down a dark path, she's always the first one to try to lend a hand in getting them back on track. This overflowing amount of kindness is what draws people to her, and she's actually really great at making friends because of it. It's actually her friends that remind her to be brave; doubling as her power in her live here in Evermore. Though clumsy and often prone to making a fool of herself, Marinette has random bouts of confidence that comes pouring in. Just because she had forgotten about her duties as a superhero, doesn't mean that part of her vanished. It's just bubbling right under the surface, and even with the love she has for her life here in Evermore as a fashion designer - everything just doesn't feel right. Something's missing, and she's well aware and has been trying to piece it together for a while now. That's despite her constant struggle in the romance department - but, let's not talk about that.
EXTRA-EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT HER!
The journal; Marinette has been journaling for as long as she can remember. There’s her deepest and darkest secrets kept in her book. It’s to the point that it’s not a person who knows her best, but her little book she keeps hidden in her jewelry box. This is not to be mistaken for her sketchpad! Two totally different items, though they look eerily similar on the exterior.
The crafts; Due to her creative personality, Marinette loves to hand make presents. From a DIY wreath and rugs, to your everyday bracelet - Marinette never ceases to amaze her loved ones in all that she winds up creating for them. It always happens to fit their personality so well, making her the top person to try to out-do for present-giving.
The baking; Marinette is good at baking, but lacks in cooking. Being raised with parents who own a bakery, it only makes sense that she has the ability to quickly pick up on recipes as well as make her own on a whim. Though the combinations can get whacky, Marinette still tends to hit the nail on the head. But, when asked to cook, she’d rather order takeout than watch the kitchen burn down.
The clothes; Being a fashion designer, it should come to no surprise that the young woman makes her own clothes. She often also makes staples in her friends’ closets as well. If it’s not something she completely came up with on her own, then it’s totally thrifted and she added a couple Marinette signature flairs to it.
The boys… and girls? Possibly?; Though Marinette has only really shown an interest in boys, she does find girls attractive. This is a part of herself she has yet to explore. Mostly because when she has a crush on someone, she tends to be all-in and writes everyone else off as a possibility. This ties in with her fierce loyalty, and even though she is such a hopeless romantic who cries over Hallmark movies, she always seems to get tongue-tied around those she deems attractive
PERSONALITY:
+ Benevolent, Adroit, and Romantic
- Clumsy, Fervent, and Nervous

3 Small Ways to Make Your Room Super Cute/Kawaii!
Tumblr media
Ciao lovelies! Long time no see, and for that I’m quite sorry. Things in my personal life have been getting super busy and I’ve been getting super stressed, which takes away some of my creativity and ability to write good things for OFT. But I’m hoping today’s post can help me get back on the path, so to speak. Today’s post is super fun- small ways you can make your room super cute/kawaii!
When I say small ways, I mean things that don’t require painting the walls or tearing up carpet or rebuilding furniture- just little things here and there that can be done to make a room cute!
DISCLAIMER: This post contains an affiliate link (Redbubble). Please keep this in mind.
Declutter. How can anyone see your cute décor if there’s clutter everywhere? This is something I really need to work on.
a. Having trouble on where to begin decluttering? A good system that I use for cleaning in general is in steps.
     i.      Step One: Throw away Trash.
ii.      Step Two: Put clothes into hamper or away.
iii.      Step Three: Pick up all loose items and place into where they belong.
b. Another tip for decluttering is to go through your clothes once a year and try on everything. Donate what does not fit, clothing you don’t wear anymore, or clothing you don’t like anymore.
c. Decluttering can really open up a space and can help you when it comes to having your nice items on display.
2) Wall Décor! If you don’t have a lot of shelf or tabletop space, Wall Décor can really help make a room super cute.
a. Where to look to buy wall décor? Check out Artists at conventions for Art Prints or even check out artists on Redbubble (This link will take you to our shop, but you can use the search bar to find any artist/fandom stuff you want).
      i. Fun Trick for Redbubble! The product shown for any item might not be the only product available for that design. Click down below where it will say “Available on ___+ products….” This will take you to a page where you can see all the available products you can get the design on, including prints, etc.
b.       Another place to buy wall décor if your style is more eclectic is Thrift Stores! They have tons of wall décor available and some of it is really cute. Plus you can find frames for Art prints there.
c.       Don’t want to buy Wall Décor but would rather DIY? No problem! Check out these tutorials for cute wall art:
                                                               i.      3 Step by Step Kawaii Paintings
ii.      DIY Shadow Box by Emuse
3)      Display Kawaii/Cute Accessories as Décor!
a.       Some fun ways to do this include:
                                                               i.      Using a three tier tray (like THIS one!) to display rings, hair clips, bows, etc.
ii.      Filling up jars with cute strings of pearls, beaded necklaces, etc.
iii.      Getting a wall mounted jewelry hanger like THIS one to store your accessories.
iv.      Using command hooks to hang cute purses on the back of your door.
                                                             v.      Be creative! Using your cute accessories as décor is super easy and fun.
What do you think of these three ways to make your room cuter? Will you be using these tips? Sorry that there’s no video included with this post, I’m still working on implementing that feature to OFT.
Please leave a comment with your top tip(s) for a cute room!

15 Adorable Polymer Clay Ideas
Polymer clay is the most versatile crafting media, with endless applications and uses. From handmade jewelry to wall art, polymer clay is an easy-to-use available option. While it may take a bit of practice to sculpt using clay adroitly, the skill-building is meditative and enjoyable. No matter how you decide to start working with clay, be sure you have a craft knife or a clay cutter available, aluminum foil to make forms and molds, and that you preheat your oven before baking your clay projects to eradicate cracking. Check out the ideas below to find the best starter project for your entry into the polymer clay world.

Fruit Trinket Boxes
While these elegant trinket boxes use a wooden bangle bracelet to get things started, the accents of clay really set them apart from some simple crafts. In case you are nervous about free-handing each of the fruit textures, then use a washi tape to stencil off your clay design before applying for the painted pattern work.
Modern Earrings
Add a homemade flair touch to any outfit with a pair of geometric earrings. A duo of pastel and neutral colors keeps these clay designs relatively subtle and, therefore, exactly wearable. Complete with a polymer-safe coat to add a layer, or leave them matte for a smooth effect.
Geometric Wall Hanging
For a mid-century modern-inspired decor, create a geometric wall hanging set. Peach and brass work perfectly together, but don’t hesitate to measure with silver hardware and pastel blue as well. Either way, add string tassels to complete each piece with style.
Rainbow Magnets
Brighten up your day with a set of handmade rainbow magnets for your refrigerator. Just be sure to hot glue every magnet to the baked polymer clay well before popping it on the fridge to measure their longevity.
Ice Cream Cone Wall Planters
To give your walls a little touch of life, choose sculpting planters from polymer clay and start filling them with succulents. The cone shapes of ice cream are not only whimsical but also simple to make. You need to roll a circle of polymer clay, score it with a tool of dull clay and then secure it around an aluminum foil cone before baking it into shape. It is perfect for filling these clay potters with faux plants, so they don’t stand up perfectly to daily watering.
Cactus Ring Holder
A stylish jewelry storage solution can be risky to work into your room’s decor, so opt instead for a whimsical, do-it-by-yourself display. This cactus-shaped ring holder can be created in any color, and also it holds a few of your prettiest pieces, so make some to give to your friends as well.
Standing Bud Vase
Fresh flowers can add elegant beauty to your home, and a single bud vase can stretch your bouquet to many types of spaces. Simply take your cue from “A Beautiful Mess,” and then start creating a neutral Stan vase and fill it with a single tulip.
Emoji Heart Best Friends Necklaces
Capitalize on the fame of emoji’s with this tech-inspired jewelry design. While these necklaces are simple to create, they come together with the help of a sharp craft knife and a little heart-shaped cookie cutter. Once the polymer clay is set, don’t forget to give a gift of one half of the heart pendant to your BFF.
Stamped Clay Succulent Pots
While you could use clay stamping tools to make a set of subtly-patterned planters, a piece of etched glass or strategically-edged cardboard will work well. Create three or four of these planters in the same color to display together- they look perfect in clusters.
Stamped Clay Garden Markers
You have to turn your scraps of polymer clay into stitch-shaped labels for a straightforward solution to keep your garden vegetables. In order to help these DIYed markers stay comprehensible, paint each one carefully with a weather-proof clear coat when it’s stamped and baked.
Tabletop Tic-Tac-Toe
The best way to add a pop of color to your coffee table, this handmade set is also a practical piece for entertaining. Set it out before guests reach to encourage tic-tac-toe matches or admiration of your handiwork.
Monogrammed Bookmark
Some things in life are superior, curling up with a perfect book, but adding a handmade bookmark to your story session might up the ante. Also, you can source leather-effect clay from a craft store, but adding a pebble texture to regular polymer works just as well.
Beaded Necklace
Get your feet wet with polymer clay with a simple jewelry craft. Try your hand at a pair of different bead sizes and shapes, and aim for flexibility to ensure a professional-looking clay project. Also, this is a great starter project for the kid because there are no requirements for painstaking sculpting or sharp tools.
Marble Coasters
A gold leaf edge helps these faux marble coasters pop, so you don’t need to skip that metallic finishing touch. This readable tutorial guides you through making the swirling, faux-marble clay outcome, which is simple to achieve, so don’t hesitate to get started on the project.
Clay-Covered Pens
If your office materials or supplies seem a bit tired lately, give some plain pens a renovation with a handful of plumber clay. Try rolling some complementary colors for a more finish, and be sure to erase the ink before baking each of the pens to set. A pair of these and a notepad would also create an amazing teacher’s gift.
