There are many parallels between Slytherins and Gryffindors you know. I hate to admit such things, but we share many qualities that make us be perceived as the two most - dramatic houses.

Ambition and strict adherence to ones belief, risk taking in the name of the cause, notions of loyalty - on the surface they look similar. Of course Slytherins and Gryffindors tend to have different definitions of risks, of allies, of what is superior. Slytherins tend to be more pragmatic, leas boastful. Our criterion for loyalty is different, our causes tend to look a bit different as well, favoring traditions, stability, and order.

But yes - I can see how on the surface, such traits are shared among groups. It is why we hate each other so, I believe. We see ourselves and clash, and yet we also we take offense to one another's differences.
