On Defective Irkens
“It is theorized that Tak may also be an Irken defect because-“
“Say guys do you think Skoodge is defective? He did a thing he wasn’t told to do once do you suppose-“
“Service Drone Bob's contempt for the Tallest is extremely abnormal, even for most defective Irkens…”
“Hints of the comms officer being a defective are seen when-“
Ohhh mauling the fan wiki writers grr biting biting thrashing and then turning around to the rest of you before I’m done, you bet, for I have sat and listened for over 12 years of leaps and speculations of this sort and now I’m now one of the ones who gets to have what the cool kids these days call a hot take on the matter.
By the end of this I’M going to bring up and expose who I actually think may be the only other defective Irken(s) in the show besides Zim, whom I’m aghast I haven’t seen anyone suggest before.
But before anything else, I want to front one preassumption center and loud.
Tumblr media
It took me a long time to guess at why very few people can ever seem to get on the same page of what it actually means to call an Irken defective. Implicitly, the bulk of what we are given is that something can be wrong with a member of this species, and Zim is our prime and singular clear example of that. So there’s a ton of trying to find patterns between Zim’s behavior and that of other Irken characters. Weirdly (to me), a lot of people have, in their efforts, chalked the status up to a sense of rebelliousness or insubordination- a defectiveness in the manner of D&D illithids, stomping out disloyal break-aways from the collective hive mind with punitive wrath. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool concept, and it’s definitely closer to my opinion at least than the comparisons to real life mental disorders or disabilities. Not knocking the comfort or the enthusiasm, obviously.
From my view of the canon, I hope it’s at least apparent to other fans that “defective” isn’t some empirical measurement or status to Irkens. Look at the way they determine the defects from normal society. IRL, if I have a faulty device on my hands, there’s some way out there to tell me in a clear cut fashion if there’s a problem and what exactly it is. If it’s code, it can be scanned and debugged. If it’s mechanical, something can be seen, fixed physically. Most organic health problems are only different in the complexity of the matter, but the entire purpose of medical research is to come close as we can to bridging that gap. In Irk’s people, that line is rapidly becoming one long smear of wet chalk. I’m going on like this because if defective paks were akin to hardware actually being damaged, as Purple had put it, it doesn’t make as much sense that they are neither “fixed” nor given real, concrete diagnostics. The only way we know of that the aliens are tested in a since on this merit is by existence evaluations. And existence evaluations are anything but empirical, impartial events. They’re worlds more political and cultural than clinical.
Tumblr media
Digest the terms we keep seeing all around the concept: Innocent, justice, trial/evaluation, Judgementia, these are terms of judicial courts and moral weight and sentencing. In effective practice,
Irk labels defects by what one does, not by what one is.
Yet, defection is presented as if that’s not the case, and there are reasons for that. Reasons that reinforce the current power structures and promote what its leadership has decided is healthy for the broader society. When Zim was merely re-encoded from invader status to food service work, it was a more secluded evaluation, presumably done on Irk. His only seen witnesses then were the Tallests and the single control brain dishing the judgement. His existence evaluation, on the other hand, rings more similarly to the IRL historical practice of literal “show trials”. Show trials were something that existed way less for the actual crimes of the accused and so much more for their audience, which, show trials are always for an audience. Three main points about them off the Wikipedia cuff:
• Typically, the defendant of such has already been determined to be guilty (oftentimes of completely fabricated transgressions), and the trial serves mostly to make a massive public spectacle and warning of the accused.
• They tend to focus on retributive punishment over correction. The disproportional brutality and lack of mercy is often the point.
• Their goals are propagandistic in nature, and there’s many notable examples to be found in the history of Nazi Germany, the USSR, and in witch trials across the world (because it was never just Salem).
A formality? Well, that much they couldn’t have more brazenly admitted to. Retribution? There’s hardly a more absolute punitive sentence I could craft up over obliteration PLUS Damnatio Memoariae. And as for the degree of spectacle, I will let you make your own observation here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Believe it or not, the part where my comparisons along this line end with Existence Evaluations is that their standard for taking place isn’t actually this cartoonishly oppressive one that some fans try to make it out to be. In “The Trial”, Zim was not having his data read for some binary is/is not determination… he was having his experiences and actions interpreted by how much damage he has done against the Armada. He said it himself, that hotseat is reserved for criminals. Likely outright traitors and maniacs. Those who have given cause to alert the brains to a genuine existential threat to their civilization and who have repeatedly failed every opportunity given to redeem themselves.
Defective doesn’t just mean “different” to Irk. We’ve hardly seen an exploration of what the median Irken example even is, because the more we see of any one of these characters, the more they show us their eccentric uniqueness and will. Yes, Irkens are authoritarian; yes they’re over-militarized; yes, they’re a supremacist breed aligned under one ruling military… but listen, they are not literally The Borg, or illithids.
The biggest victims of this government itself are those races it colonizes. Average civilians on the other hand, they get to largely enjoy all the vices and pains and indulgences of hyper-space-capitalism. The height-ocracy may limit their opportunities, but even the lowest drones among them are supposedly hired into their positions in return for wages. Irkens are pretty selfish, but in a rugged individualism sense. It’s a dystopia of atomization instead of collectivization. If everyone had agreed that “defective” had anything to do with arrogance, free will, or an ability to feel one’s sense of self worth, no one would ever be pointing to Skoodge as a possible example. That guy’s the poster boy for what it means to be a “tool” in the derogatory sense. I’m not forgetting that he technically never even left his job. He was fired and more or less forced into hiding, and he’s still not even that perturbed over the whole thing.
Moreover, it also takes some extreme acts of harm to justify such a trial. Real harm- not rebellious attitude or even disrespect to authority. The control brains and the tallests alone get to define that threshold, and neither Tak’s/Zim’s insubordination nor Bob’s audacity concerned them enough for a ticket to Judgementia. In fact, they really don’t seem that bothered at all by deserters and those that abandon their encoded function. Tak is likely to be merely the responsibility of her janitorial squadron, the same way that enforcing Zim’s banishment was the responsibility of his Frylord. Because Irk actually does have standards of justice and layers of bureaucracy to work within when it comes to dealing with true malice. Small fry problems are for the lower rungs of the ladder to handle, until they become a higher priority by necessity. Incompetency alone isn’t a crime, either. The go-to punishment for failure in one function is demotion to a lower position. These are the only Irkens formally not allowed to change jobs, making what they do a kind of communal service or forced labor sentencing. Remember how Tak’s motivation for leaving Dirt wasn’t solely dissatisfaction with the grunt labor? Remember how she kept justifying her actions by the logic of fairness and setting things right? Not to mention how she fully made the Tallest aware of what she was up to and how her plan was well crafted enough to probably work out exactly like she wanted. Tak is utterly as loyal to the empire and competent as any invader. She was genuinely just dealt a shitty hand, and her response to it is at least understandable.
She even went to great lengths to identify and specifically target Zim and to use a planet that otherwise had less than no value to the armada’s operations. She is a great foil to Zim, but I can’t see how she’s any bit defective, only full of rage that she was screwed over by the actions of a real disgrace to their species. Genuinely destructive cases like Zim are an incredible rarity. Such a rarity that I can only guess it took this long for him to go to Judgementia because his degree of dysfunction outright baffles the system. It also would appear that it’s an event of such significance that it can only be set into motion by the command of the ruling Tallest. By murdering a couple of them, and then being a clown show for a couple more, he inadvertently bought himself some time.
Tumblr media
And the crazy thing to remember here is that Zim doesn’t even understand that his actions are an existential threat to the Empire- that he IS a whole supervillain to his planet. This is how effective Irken programming and the education plugs are. They’re supposed to do 99% of the work of setting up the population, even the lowest drones, for not turning out like traitors to their kin in the first place. ALL of them grew up on a steady diet of the same drip-fed propaganda and essentialist ideology as their most militant soldiers. So I can see the logic behind the conclusion that the only explanation for criminals in their society must be outright brain damage or corrupted data… and I’m not gonna lie I do openly headcanon that the latter case is exactly what happened to bad egg Zim.
The limits of only having the one example in him notwithstanding, I’m anything but against theorizing about who else could be “worthy” in the Irken sense to also stand before those brains, playing sweaty advocate for the worth of their continued existence and all. I just don’t see it in Bob, or the Comms officer, or any other invader. Tak, there may be some hypothetical ramp to that end, in her future, but as things are right now, I only see a candidate that has become comfortable right in the control brains’ biggest blind spot of all. See, eggs don’t always have to crack in order to go bad. Sometimes, maybe they just spoil. Sometimes, I believe just the right conditions and time can turn them downright rotten.
Dramatic musical flourish, please.
Tumblr media
I forget whoever said the quote “Power doesn’t corrupt, It just exposes who people really are”, but I’m a huge fan of the fact that they did. In my opinion, it’s less about power itself and more about a complete lack of accountability that allows the weakest and most toxic seeds to really fester in a seat of authority. Indeed, we all know that there is something pathetic, and vapid, and cruel floating around The Massive’s bridge. I am saying I’d call Red defective, but I couldn’t be certain enough with myself to say that Purple’s largely the one carrying a lot of fault. His greatest sin is his negligence and enabling his companion. whoever we can say shoulders more of the blame, they have been running this horror show as a joint unit, so they will both bear the guilt. Without a doubt, these two are terrible- popular maybe, but terrible leaders. Like, more responsible for the near ruin of their home world and species than I can even pin on Zim at this point. By almost every measure once you hold them up to Miyuki’s and Spork’s barely few moments of would-be screen time, they’re the worst Tallests for the Empire we’ve ever known. It’s too bad that they have no one over them we know of to flag them for an existence evaluation, because I am assured that the real orchestrators of the Armada would be disgusted to look over their track records since they took power.
I mean, what can I remember just off the top of my head?
- Full awareness of Zim’s blackout-causing history before the beginning of Operation Impending Doom I and not keeping a close eye on him, removing him from his position, or keeping him away from the homeworld’s WoMDs
- Overseeing the shipment of faulty equipment to Invader Tenn (even if the packages had not been switched, the Megadoomer still had a potentially fatal flaw), and then presumably NOT giving her urgent guidance/assistance to avoid being captured by native hostiles
- Showing an egregious amount of immaturity and frivolity when making logistical decisions, such as the flight path of the Armada or how conquered planets are utilized
- Repeated abuses of their standing, trying to extra-judicially get rid of subjects over the pettiest reasons (if they had the formal authority to just vaporize Skoodge, Bob, OR Zim on the spot, they wouldn’t need to come up with convoluted and indirect methods that they only hope kill said targets)
- Upon Zim returning to them from his banishment: not sending him back to Foodcourtia and not refusing to humor his wishes to larp as an invader
- Oh yeah, also granting Zim at least some invader tech and allowing him to leave Conventia in what I assume is a ship he could have only stolen
- Still not dealing with Zim with extreme prejudice in a timely fashion after the events of Backseat Drivers from Beyond the stars, or investigating enough to find out and deal with prisoner 777
- HAVING WAITED THROUGH ALL OF THE ABOVE BEFORE SENDING FOR ZIM’S EXISTENCE EVALUATION
- Spending the bulk of their reign so far dicking around in space and gorging themselves. Seriously, Red showed us one act of proactive competence… and it was in order to fix a mess that they allowed Zim to get them into. Not to mention, the Resisty got away from that scrap after thoroughly humiliating their flagship.
Tumblr media
Red, and by extension, Purple, are the almighty, Tallest threats to the entire Irken project of galactic conquest, as much as Zim would have loved all the credit in the universe. By what they’ve done, and who they are. He might be damaged, but them? There’s some defective moral character if I’ve ever seen.

Now that you have read the ZimVoid arc, what are your toughts on Zib and Za2r (Zib❤Zim2[2im{twoim}])?
I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!! alright, maybe I was definitely going to say this all anyway, but now I have a decent excuse to braindump it all at once instead of trying to write, I don't know, coherent analysis.
Yeah, I'm obsessed with this guy. I'm still only just starting to build a proper 3D model of him in my head, so don't take anything I rave about here too seriously, but my god is Zib something else. Also, really cute. No one told me he'd be cute and I wasn't at all equipped to deal with what I got. I was operating under the assumption he was going to be at least a LITTLE cool, but this is the most pathetic wet meow meow of a character I have ever seen, and that is no small statement.
(Also also, is it just me, or does the way Zib's drawn remind anyone else of rubber hose animation like, moreso than the comics artstyle generally does? I can't quite pin down what's making it feel that way, but I like it. Gives him Vibes™, y'know?)
Anyway. Fusions like Zib are always going to be fun, just for what they imply about their component characters and the game of trying to identify what characteristics come from where. And Zib is especially fun for this because Zim and Dib are such similar people to begin with. It honestly doesn't surprise me that the Zimfluence went initially unnoticed by our Dib, not just because he's more prone to cognitive bias than he likes to believe, but because there are so many overlapping traits between these two guys that Zib wasn't so much altered by the fusion as he was exacerbated. They blend seamlessly to the point it's really hard to pick out where one ends and the other begins, and in a different kind of story, Dib might actually be forced to reflect on what that implies about him and his motivations. As is, he's just going to keep fooling himself, though.
Probably the most obvious dichotomy between them, at least where it applies to Zib, is motive, and that definitely brings up some interesting questions. When he chooses to take over the Earth, is that the Zim side disguised by Dib-passing justifications, or does it say a whole lot more about Dib's actual loyalty to the Earth against his loyalty to opposing Zim than anyone would really like it to? How about the total lack of internal conflict when it comes to decimating the Armada and wrecking the Irken Empire? What does that say about Zim's ultimate loyalties?
Granted, I am at this point pretty certain Zib didn't just put on the PAK and call it a day, I think he took precautionary measures to ensure that the Dib half remained the 'dominant' personality, given that in 10 Minutes to Doom we see him completely subsumed by Zim's coding, so this isn't a perfect equal split. But it is still a split—Zib clearly did not have the foresight to account for everything, if he even wanted to—and the fact he prepared himself for this is itself interesting, because it means the decision was premeditated, not done on a whim during some momentary mental break. This might even be why he's half-Irken; instead of the PAK altering his biology, maybe Zib altered his biology so it could survive the long-term integration of the PAK. And isn't it just insane to imagine any version of Dib willingly body-horroring himself like that, stripping away his own humanity? When he accused our Dib of being just another ignorant human, could that maybe be a sign that he didn't want to have anything in common with those people anymore?
None of this is what really gets me about Zib, though. This is.
Tumblr media
Admittedly, I'm sort of predisposed here, because I have this whole Thing about Dib's unfaltering belief he can somehow prove himself to humanity, despite all evidence to the contrary, being in essence identical to Zim's delusion that he's already adored by all... that's it's whole own post, tbh, but my point is Dib's ostracization wouldn't be solved by exposing Zim, and it's fun to see that explicitly confirmed.
But it's also more specific than that. Because what Zib was forced to realize here is that he destroyed the only person capable of actually caring about him. And that's why the Zimvoid is the Zimvoid, isn't it? Zib could've used those portals to escape anywhere or lure in anything, but instead he does this. Part of that's the obsessive need to succeed where he'd previously failed and decimate the Armada (+ repeatedly 'defeat' Zim because he's still too emotionally stunted to understand that's not actually what he needs), and I think all of that is important, but there's also something to be said about how deeply driven Dib is by the desire for external validation, and here he went and fused himself with the one person in the universe who might be even more love-hungry than he is. Zib's not afraid of being alone simply because he dislikes isolation—I mean, even within the Zimvoid, he still physically and ESPECIALLY emotionally isolates himself from the other Zims. Being the only person left in his reality means there's no one to admire his greatness, and given who he's a combination of, of course that's his worst nightmare. And ridiculous as it may be, he understands that Zim is the only person who's ever given him that kind of attention. So why not make a whole planet of them? Why not trick them into idolizing him? I mean, who else could even matter besides Zim?
Also? This one's sort of auxiliary to the last point, but there is something deeply, deeply sexy and thematically chewy in Dib wanting/needing Zim so badly that he quite literally became him, and that not being enough. I mean, what is the Zimvoid but a huge collector's display? And it's exactly this that makes him the architect of his own ultimate tragedy. I have a thing for characters who damn themselves not through any single choice, but by passing up a million little opportunities to save themselves, totally confident in their decisions right up til the moment it actually is too late. He could've used those portals to escape to another timeline. He could've designed the Zimvoid as anything other than a ticking timebomb of lies, conflict, and an ever inflating population of lunatics. He could've given up on his destructive plans and just enjoyed the huge fucked up harem he built for himself. He could've quit while he was ahead.
And the really funny thing is, even after the collapse of the Zimvoid, his total isolation is still a consequence of his own actions. I mean, the Zim from his own timeline literally cannot be taken away from him through any method short of murder. He's still right there. But by winning, by possessing his Zim to the point of consumption, Zib defeated the entire purpose of having Zim in the first place. They'll never be separated, and that's exactly the reason why he'll always be alone.
As for ZA2R... hm. I'm not sure if I have much to say about them just yet, but suffice to say I am Deeply Compelled. I'm always weak for that (false) god x worshipper dynamic. It's about someone as lonely and broken and closed off as Zib finding out the hard way that they're still capable of genuine love, no matter how bad they are at it, and there's something very special in every Zim's desire to be someone's favorite being so specifically exploited. I mean, the dynamic of highest subordinate is essentially identical to the one Zim likes to imagine he has with the Tallest, only actually real. Dishonest and exploitative, to be sure, but still real. And hey, important question, but what about #2's personal Dib and the fact Zib is always going to be implicitly competing against the person actually cosmically destined for his partner, because he fucked his own cosmic destiny up so badly? Or the inevitable spectacle of Dib's semi-latent yandere tendencies being brought to bear against himself?
Also! Shameless Homestuck chatter, but I take so much joy in pale ZADR dynamics (black diamond romance my beloved), and the fun thing about ZA2R is that their default pacifier/pacified dynamic swaps. In, uh, normal person terms, they've managed to contrive themselves a situation in which Zim is actually the comparatively sane/stable one, keyword comparatively, and being worked to death about it. There's nothing I love more than a justified role reversal, y'know?
THAT'S ALL I'VE GOT FOR NOW but like I've been thinking about these guys nonstop for 24 hours already, I WILL be losing my mind about them again. I don't know when, I don't know how, but it's gonna happen.

Ok on to zim in my rebel au
Zim unlike the original series is actually competent
In fact because of his usefulness and skillfulness as a smeet tallest miyuki takes interest in him and does something no tallest has ever done. She makes him her apprentice
He was given the title of an elite while still being a smeet. He was also trained as a full on irken soldier and was very successful in his training. However he’s still considered too short to be anything other that a service drone. This however doesn’t stop him he worked incredibly hard to pave his way to a valuable asset to the empire. And tallest miyuki wanting to further this little experiment has him recoded as a invader. Which is just so he’ll have easier access to things, basically a title only in name.
She cultivates him in her personal student which raises his status in irken society. She has him specifically trained by the best and top irken soldiers. She forces him as a smeet to go with different invaders and watch and learn from them. She even drops him in a desolate wasteland to survive on his own for a couple of years.
Finally she task him with taking over a planet, Specifically the planet jackers homeworld.
So zim is task with over taking this planet and he of course does so with minimal effort. Now tallest miyuki throughly impressed but still testing zim’s abilities puts him into the irken labs to test his intelligence and abilities in science
Of course this is where things go downhill
He much like the in canon he makes the Infinite Energy Absorbing Blob. However this time he makes a container that it cannot escape from unless he or tallest miyuki or the control brains unlocks it
This of course causes disaster when it is ultimately unleashed and kills tallest miyuki. Zim is framed because of this “accident” and is demoted to a service drone. and is used as a cautionary tale for other short or defective irken to never step out of their stations.
Now zim hates this but he’ll pay his due diligence to the empire and atone for his mistakes. Of course he’s always been a little skeptical about the accident that caused him his demotion. But not much time to think about it when he’s serving the new tallest.
Of course purple and red are chosen as the next tallest and of course zim is specifically recoded as their service drone so the control brains can keep an eye on him.
And while purple and red have never really liked zim and to be honest zim doesn’t feel all that inclined to them either even after they became the tallest.
They of course berate him and abuse him so after one push too many he snaps. And goes on a complete rampage, ranting and yelling at them and after his anger subsided and he realizes he just yelled. At his tallest. So He runs.
Of course being on the massive means there’s not a lot of places to hide so he goes in the vents. He’s there for days scrounging around for snacks and stuff when he runs into someone. It’s skoodge?!?
Long story short he’s introduced to the irken rebellion. It’s a collection of all the defective and short Irkens. These Irkens have been living in the massive’s vents and have been undetected for years now by rewriting their pak’s code so the controll brains don’t notice them.
The code was taken from a defective irken who’s coding made it so the control brains had no control over their pak and thus no control over them. Seeing as this irken was a huge liability for them the irken was set to be deactivated however that irken escaped and hid on the massive undetected for years. Helping other defectives escape and recoding their paks. Slowly building up an army. This irken is named “The First”.
They have assembled a group of highly skilled Irkens and dubbed them “The counsel.” So Skoodge explains all of this and the rebellions plan to overthrow the control Brains. Zim of course is not on board with this at all but he stays in the rebellion for a bit to gather information and to wait until the tallest have calmed down after his out burst. During this time zim is not imitated yet. Keep that in mind it’s important. Finally he’s brought to the counsel to be initiated and he’s still not on board with this until the counsel tells him how the control brain have been pulling the strings and manipulating all of irken kind.
Show him proof that they might’ve played a hand in tallest miyuki’s death.

Analyzing how Zim (probably) fights:
Exactly what the title says. I’m analyzing how Zim would theoretically fight someone in the absolutely optimal conditions. Zim gets to use any weapon that he would normally have on his person and he’s not fighting a worthy opponent like Dib or another Zim from the Zimvoid as Zim goes easy on those people (however, he could theoretically fight like this against Tak, because despite her being a worthy opponent, she’s close enough to Zim in skill that he doesn’t go easy on her).
I didn’t think I’d ever say this, but Nickelodeon All Star Brawl shows a really good example of how Zim fights.
Here’s his full moveset in that game.
Tumblr media
PAK:
As you probably noticed, Zim uses his PAK legs in a lot of his moves, along with using them to support his body during the entire match. He also uses his PAK legs a lot in his fights in the show, mostly using them to gain more maneuverability and do things like dodge and launch himself in various directions.
And that makes sense considering that he’s an Irken that’s been trained to use these things (including in combat) practically since birth and is a former soldier. If you have access to metallic spider legs that give you extreme maneuverability in combat, you use them in combat.
So Zim would (and does) use his PAK legs a lot in combat, just like any other Irken, using them for maneuverability and faster movement along with raw attacking power by jabbing, slashing and using his PAK lasers, not to mention the other weapons and tools in there that he could use like the deflector shield and grappling hook.
Shock Spears:
Next, I want to talk about Shock Spears. The electric spears that Irkens use. Thanks to Nickelodeon All Star Brawl, we know that Zim doesn’t just know how to use a Shock Spear, he has his own unique one. (Which isn’t that surprising when you take into account the evidence that all Shock Spears are slightly unique and may be created by the wielder. (This also brings up the possibility that Sizz-Lorr’s giant spatula is actually a Shock Spear that Sizz-Lorr made himself, but that’s a different post)).
This is what Zim’s Shock Spear looks like (image courtesy of me after I dug through NASB’s code to find it). The left image is Zim’s Shock Spear and the right image is generally what the other spears we see in the show look like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Zim obviously knows how to use a Shock Spear in combat, however one might be used (I say it’s a mix between using a spear and a halberd), even though we never see him using one in the show. I imagine that in an optimal scenario where he has access to his Shock Spear and isn’t fighting someone he’d normally go easy on, he’d be a lot more willing to use it.
Now onto a thing that starts on its own, but eventually comes back to Zim’s Shock Spear:
Knife Throwing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I’m sorry but all I have for this is Dio because he’s the first person that comes to mind when I think of knife throwing)
Zim CANONICALLY has borderline Olympic skills with throwing knives with an accuracy of 99.7%. We learn this during the Zimvoid arc of the comics.
Tumblr media
Technically Zim has extreme accuracy with “Vibrating Irken Death Blades”, but it’s implied that these are just high tech Irken throwing knives.
I want to just point out that with an accuracy of 99.7%, Zim could throw one thousand knives and only miss three.
With that in mind, there’s no way in hell that Zim doesn’t carry at least a dozen throwing knives in his PAK at all times. Say what you want about Zim, he’s shown that he’s more than smart enough to recognize strengths like that and capitalize on them.
I’m willing to bet that the only reason we didn’t get Zim throwing knives in NASB is because they didn’t want Zim throwing actual knives in a children’s fighting game. If the people who made NASB knew about and cared enough to give Zim a Shock Spear, let alone a unique one, at least one person on the team definitely knew about his knife throwing accuracy.
And there’s a good chance that Zim’s extreme accuracy doesn’t just apply to knives. His aim probably isn’t nearly as good with other objects as it with knives, but I’m willing to bet that if Zim can throw something, he’s got at least a 98% in accuracy with it. This applies to everything from small rocks to baseballs to grenades. If Zim can see you, you are in throwing distance of Zim.
How does this connect back to Zim’s Shock Spear you may ask? Because Zim’s Shock Spear has a very unique design and I have a headcanon as to why.
The end of Zim’s Shock Spear is covered by four blue parts that aren’t found on any other Shock Spear.
Tumblr media
What they do is unknown, but I have an idea.
A headcanon of mine is that Shock Spears are retractable, being able to go from the size of the wielder to about the size of an unlit lightsaber that can be strapped an Irken’s belt or easily stored in a PAK. (This isn’t originally why I made the headcanon, but it could explain where Zim pulls out and stores his Shock Spear in NASB).
Tumblr media
So a headcanon that sort of branches off of that is: “what if the blades of Zim’s Shock Spear were detachable as well?”. On Zim’s command, the blades of his Shock Spear can detach from the main spear and reconfigure themselves into daggers, giving Zim two Shock Knives and one retractable metal pole.
This is where the blue things on Zim’s spear come into play. Without the blades getting in the way, the blue things can be electrified and used to hit the opponent, turning the otherwise useless metal pole into a Shock Mace.
Zim seems to be more skilled with knives than a Shock Spear, so it would make sense for him to be able to take his Shock Spear and turn it into two knives that he can dual wield. The remaining pole still being useable as a mace means that even if he loses the knives (which is sort of to be expected considering that his whole deal with knives involves throwing them), he still has a weapon he can use.
Hell, he may even be able to use Irken technology in the Shock Mace and Shock Knives to recall the knives back to the mace (and therefore Zim, who’s currently holding it) after they’ve been detached and thrown. Even if the Mace is in its completely retracted form, the knives will fly back to the location of the mace and Zim can grab them again.
Also I can picture a scene where Zim and Dib are about to fight something together and Zim takes out his Shock Spear, detaches the blades, and tosses the now-Shock Mace to Dib while he dual wields Shock Knives.
Now, the single most important part of how Zim fights:
Zim’s Fighting Style:
I made a whole post about this before, but Zim uses his mind a lot more than his fists when he’s fighting.
What I mean by that is; Zim’s main strategies when fighting usually involve using the environment to his advantage.
For my best example of this you have Zim’s battle against Giganto-Baby in Plague Of Babies, where Zim immediately starts the fight by leaping to the ceiling and dropping a massive piece of machinery on Giganto-Baby, knowing that although he can’t beat Giganto-Baby on his own, the force of the heavy machinery falling on him might do the trick. When that doesn’t work, Zim leads Giganto-Baby through a large amount of cables, trying to get Giganto-Baby tied up in them. And when THAT doesn’t work, Zim goes for the amplifier.
Another trick Zim pulls frequently is briefly getting into his opponents heads, usually without them even noticing that he did it.
My best example here is Zim’s fight against Sergeant Hobo 678. In that fight, Zim is almost thrown out of the ring, but plays dumb and manages to distract the Sergeant with his interrupting “perhaps you have trained me too well” quote, throwing off the Sergeant’s concentration and giving Zim the time he needs to fully drain Sergeant Hobo 678 of his energy.
Another example is found in the pilot episode. In the fight against Dib, Zim grinds the fight to a halt to ask “What planet is this?” and when a now confused and distracted Dib replies with “Earth”, Zim takes advantage of Dib’s now distracted state to say “yep. It’s the right planet.” before leaping behind Dib and shooting him in the back. It IS the pilot episode so it’s not exactly canon, but it is worth bringing it up.
Also adding more proof to both Zim using the environment as a main part of his fighting style and my personal theory that at least one person on the Nickelodeon All Star Brawl dev team wrote their fucking college essay on Invader Zim is the fact that in NASB, Zim is a trapper type character, with a moveset focused on using traps and the environment to win fights.
So that plays a LOT into how both how Zim fights and what he uses in combat.
Speaking of what Zim uses in combat, grenades and bombs. Zim definitely knows how to use them and definitely WOULD use them because grenades and especially remote bombs play right into that environmental/trapper fighting style. Zim likes using the environment to his advantage, and remote activated bombs combined with Zim’s extreme throwing accuracy would let Zim control the environment practically to a tee, with Zim being able to toss explosives to whatever spot he wants and then detonate those explosives right when he needs it.
Zim would also carry multiple different kinds of explosives and explosive-like devices with multiple different purposes. We sort of see this in NASB where Zim has and uses three (at least technically three) different bombs, those bombs being Gir, who walks forwards and explodes when he hits a target and can be commanded to stop or continue moving, a garden gnome that floats in the air and electrifies anything nearby and a regular impact bomb that Zim drops during his recovery move. Point is, Zim can and would carry a few different kinds of bombs and similar devices, both traditional military and self-made.
Remote explosives are obvious and so are regular grenades, but Zim could also carry things like:
Bombs that hover in place in the air instead of falling to the ground
Bombs that lock onto and home in on a target after being thrown
Devices that electrify the area around them like the garden gnome from NASB (it would probably look different than the gnome because I doubt Zim would just carry around and use a garden gnome outside of Nickelodeon All Star Brawl and maybe one scenario where he’s forced to fight using one of his garden gnome base turrets as a weapon)
Explosives that detonate in unique ways, like something that explodes like the X-Bomb from Smash Bros Ultimate.
Tumblr media
All of this variety lets Zim control the environment even better, as now he has multiple options for trapping areas. We know he’s smart enough to recognize these strengths and he’s definitely smart enough to create unique bombs and similar devices, so there’s no reason that Zim wouldn’t use multiple different bombs and explosives in combat.
Guns:
Also fitting in with Zim’s usage of the environment in combat alongside his usage of knives, if Zim were to use a gun, Zim would probably prefer using a small gun that can be pulled out, aimed and used rather quickly, like a pistol. As a trained soldier Zim would know how to use larger guns of all shapes and sizes from machine guns to snipers and would probably use them if the situation called for it and he had access to one, but he’d do best with something that can be pulled out and used quickly without much fuss.
Plus with something like a pistol, Zim could quickly and easily pull it out and aim for something in the environment like he tends to do in combat. He could do something like shoot a chandelier that’s above his opponent so it falls on them. In he used a larger gun like a machine gun or sniper, it would take far longer to pull out and use, losing its effectiveness when used in this way.
TLDR under the cut:
Zim’s fighting style:
Uses the environment and his mind a lot in combat, using traps, manipulating the environment and briefly getting into his opponents heads to distract and confuse them.
Uses his PAK legs a lot, primarily using them for extra maneuverability and dodging attacks, but also fully knowing how to attack with them.
Also has access to various tools, devices and weapons in his PAK that can and will be used.
Main weapon is 100% knives and/or daggers, especially throwing knives as Zim has a 99.7% accuracy rate.
Owns and uses a Shock Spear. (Pure headcanon: That Shock Spear can split into two Shock Knives (which Zim dual wields) and a Shock Mace meant to be used as a backup weapon. The Shock Knives can also be recalled to the location of the mace.)
Would use a lot of different bombs and similar devices (most of which are detonated remotely by a detonator Zim has on him or using his PAK) to better control the environment and gain an upper hand.
Would probably prefer a small gun that’s quick to use like a pistol.
Zim’s ideal combat gear (not including things like the armour he dons during Planet Jackers, Zim’s PAK (because he always has it on) or Gir and Minimoose (as they count as outside help here)):
Shock Spear (Headcanon: can split into two Shock Knives and a Shock Mace)
At least a dozen throwing knives, possibly more
Various bombs and devices that can be thrown out and activated when Zim needs them
One detonator for the above bombs and devices, possibly more
A few non-remote detonated explosives like timed or impact grenades
An Irken pistol

Darth Vader (2020-) #30, Pak/Ross/et al
I've written before about how often vader's armor is sliced in his own comic and how this underscores that nothing belongs to him, that he is considered property of the government. scrutinized from afar by his near-omniscient master, who slips into his mind with the casual disregard of the schoolmaster that filches and idly flips through the diary of a troublesome student, savoring the mortification of reading the maudlin passages to the rest of the class; surrounded by servant-spies who rat him out for sparing the lives of queen amidala's ex-handmaidens, by guards who attack him in one moment and keep him under surveillance while he rests in the next; caught on tape so often and predictably, his moves and strategies can be programmed into droids -- vader can seemingly make no changes to his life support suit without creating an exposed trail.
at heart is the premise that darth vader can be read. it's a meta question as much as a narrative one; comics are read and therefore so too must darth vader, chimera of the cinema, be accessible in two-dimensions. absent the eerie breathing and disembodied voice and shuddering cape and gleaming lights playing havoc, telling stories on the mask, there must be a reader to set his static images into motion, to imagine the unseen and unheard. on the narrative level, vader's story also depends on readers (who scour his two-dimensional blueprints and command codes) and viewers (who analyze recordings taken of him when they aren't observing him directly). they study records and traces to learn how to kill him. though motivations differ, there's consensus about the undertaking. for most of his slicers and analysts, vader is not just an object to be read, he's also contained in what is read. what can be seen is what matters. in the disenchanted world he has helped create, the fact that vader is a wizard -- controlling powers unseen -- scarcely registers.
the paper trail is vast; witnesses are everywhere. vader is always watched, constantly being discussed, never alone (except in his hyperbaric chamber, where we know however from esb that he can be recorded, observed maskless, and interrupted). the emperor personally oversees vader's suit repairs -- a process involving circular saws, no painkillers, and a horizontal operating table -- while flanked by members of the imperial court. (the patient has no doctor; the doctor is his master and gleefully indiscrete.) the court members can access the blueprints and repair logs for vader's armor. one of them builds a kill-switch, passing it through dozens of hands to a bounty hunter. as it happens, a kill switch was part of the original suit design. vader has built preventions against a kill switch before. because his armor is a matter of government record, however, he can never be sure someone won't find a new weakness and build another (with his master's silent blessing). nor is it clear that he can adequately prepare, since his repairs are overseen by his master. whatever the case -- whether it's because he's restored to factory settings or because new weaknesses are installed with each official repair or because he's not been paying attention or some other diabolical reason (it's a metaphor) -- vader is vulnerable. the new kill switch works, if only briefly; trapped in a body that won't obey him, vader taps into the force to free himself, then is forced to put out a remedial patch for his own armor.
but the ease with which others can access what should be confidential medical records and spaces is just one expression of the problem. the suit is exposed by design. anyone who jabs the control panel with a sharp instrument -- who conducts a basic visual scan -- can download its specs and analyze its components. all who do so, moreover, agree -- the parts consist largely of "old tech from the republic days", or more saltily put, "junk":
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #9, Pak/Ienco/et al. - after getting close enough to scan the suit, a droid scavenger on the lookout for top-of-the-line parts concludes that vader's core armor is "junk" and "garbage".
tapped by padmé's ex-handmaidens before his second kill switch experience, then sliced again with a quick jab at his control panel -- even though he's since built protections against the kill switches specifically -- vader's suit is embarrassingly talkative. from the first tap, the handmaidens manage to tease out nearly half of its command codes, simply by cross-checking them with old republic data, which tells you just how few updates have been performed on the suit since its construction but is also a telling metaphor. from the second tap, they obtain the activation code for his flagship's self-destruct mechanisms. vader's suit is not just government property, not just old, not just a symbol for continuities between regimes and imperial hubris and the surveillance state: it's a liability.
to dwell on indignities just a bit longer: even the reader participates in the comic's central sport, violating what little remains of vader's personal space, making him spill secrets. we are given access to vader's most powerful thoughts, the ones that frame his values and express his commitment to the dark side. (fittingly, they appear in red captions coffined into all-black panels of variable size; the size of the black panel depends, seemingly, on how persuasive the thought is, or how much vader is feeling the power of the dark.) these framing thoughts are as harrowingly banal as you might expect of a value system built around the fear and glorification of death, hollow to boot -- what vader says about strength and weakness and power and fear and what he remembers and does are often at terrific odds -- but in reading those private thoughts, in judging them, the reader also becomes complicit in the voyeurism. everyone who thinks they know vader because they can intricately describe each part of the suit that keeps him alive, each studied flourish of his lightsaber, each plodding move of his mechanical legs, each predictable because painfully limited pose, contributes to his objectification, his transformation into dully legible surface. despite and because of the mask, he seems an open book. we know his entire history, we know his stupidest, most intimate thoughts, we even know how he dies; he belongs to us. how can he possibly still surprise us?
the force, some might say, you haven't mentioned his superpowers. calculated as it is to produce shame and humiliation, warm food for a sith, vader's situation can be made legitimate, even desirable with his religion; if he resents being so easily read, so susceptible to unwanted external control, and by his own master's design, then he also possesses overflowing stores of devotional pain and anger. vader's most uncurious readers, those who only stop to consider the machine and dismiss the rest, are also quickly cut down to size -- he sacrifices them, even digests them (incorporating the parts of droids he demolishes into his own suit repairs, for example) with knowing inevitability.
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #9, Pak/Ienco/et al. - after Vader defeats them, members of the Droid Crush pictured here struggle to fathom how, as there is "nothing more special [in his mechanical parts]" than in their own.
the force helps explain why vader would not only tolerate this life, but also infuse it with flattering meaning: he's shown to covet the constant scanning, slicing, downloading, and otherwise hostile scrutiny. if it implies he is slipping, it also points to the threat he still represents. when random imperial officers openly discuss vader's recent brutal punishment by the emperor while he's in earshot and speak wonderingly of his survival, considering the "junk" he used to rebuild himself, you certainly don't get the sense that vader is ashamed to be gossiped about in the same context as "this junk"; on the contrary, he seems to relish the image boost:
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #14, Pak/Ienco/et al - not even the abject conditions of vader's dismantling punishment remain secret, becoming fuel for the rumor mill; so far as the gossip contributes to his fearsome reputation, however, vader tolerates, even glories in it.
if vader will accept any regard that amplifies his powers (all attention being good attention), no matter how mortifying, he's also shown to be jealous of the spotlight. realizing that obi-wan, the emperor, and even the imperial court have transferred their hopes from him to his son, vader's thoughts take a sharply jealous turn: "all your eyes turn from me ... to him ... you think you see my end" (#13). incensed as he is that his enemies and master are focusing on how they can use luke to replace him, however, vader seems to resent luke's friends for taking luke's attention away from him even more.
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #16, Pak/Ienco/et al - as he addresses his son in his mind, Vader goes from picturing Luke amongst his friends to zooming in on Luke alone. This focus in on Luke's face, on his hands -- holding Vader's old lightsaber -- contrasts with his thoughts, where he claims that Luke seems to "want to disappear" in the company of his friends. The red caption for this line about disappearing pushes outside of the black panel, as though the darkness cannot fully contain it -- the red boundaries of the caption expand into the white space bordering the images of Luke, almost touching them. Vader next speaks of how Luke seems to want to "snuff out the Force within", his "fear", and yet all this talk of snuffing out, of going dark, is accompanied by visions of Luke holding a lit saber, coruscating with light, looking ahead with calm determination.
vader is self-aware enough to privately acknowledge that he personally will "never know peace again" (#6) and that, should his son replace him at the emperor's side, "you [luke] will end up more lost than you can ever imagine" (#16). caught between possessiveness over what little he does have (what remains of the emperor's attention, the empire's attention), anger over what he does not have (obi-wan's attention, luke's attention), and fear that luke will end up just as lost as he is, vader considers crossing a line and killing luke himself. should luke refuse his offer to combine forces and destroy the emperor, vader seems to conclude, it would be better that he kill luke himself than for luke to end up as caged, as snuffed out, as he is. when given the chance to pursue luke, who again refuses to acknowledge his offer and flees, vader doesn't hesitate -- he shoots to kill. whether he'd actually go so far as to kill luke is irrelevant: his intent is alarming enough. attention snapping back to vader, the emperor orders him to let luke go and murder some hutts instead. we see, then, what vader gains from drawing attention, from letting himself by read -- by appearing ready to kill luke, vader has provoked the emperor into saving him. the emperor "has shown his hand", provided vader with a way to "measure his [fear]"; he too has become readable.
vader is constantly being read, then, but it's not all embarrassment and rejection and exchanges of power. luke may not accept vader's offer, but the ex-handmaiden sabé does, specifically because she can read vader better than anyone left alive, save his master. observing his conspicuous obsession with padmé and recognizing his vague way of equating good government with order, sabé figures out it's anakin in the suit, then appeals to what she knows anakin cared about (padmé, order, his mother) to try and maneuver vader to kill the emperor (whom she paints as an enemy, a representative of chaos). vader doesn't precisely comply, but he does arrange a meeting with the emperor that gets him permission to keep sabé at his side -- a major win for him given that his master nearly killed him for leaving her alive before. with sabé, vader gets to live out the fantasy that padmé "believed in order" and would have joined him. (in a galaxy of warring factions, vader defines "order" as having "someone to make them agree ... or deal with them all" -- essentially, this meme. chaos, on the other hand, probably encompasses this meme and resembles a sandstorm, the rough metaphor used by crimson dawn agents (vader's main target of ire in the comic) to describe their swarm approach to power: "a million stronger than one".) sabé claims to join vader because she wants "order" too. to say he's ecstatic is an interpretation, so let's just quote him saying that "sabé understands".
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #30, Pak/Ross/et al - confronted by Dormé and her fellow ex-handmaidens, Vader extends them the same offer he made to both Luke and Sabé: to join him in the name of order and unite or deal with the warring factions in the galaxy.
after being read and misread for so much of the comic, this isn't a small thing for him to say (even if his intentions in this scene are to manipulate) -- there's a difference between constantly being seen and feeling seen. that holds even if vader is not being totally honest (with himself and others) about the reason, even if vader is substituting the truth with a fantasy, and regardless of how good vader himself happens to be at making others feel seen (as he puts it himself, he doesn't care what other people think, just that they suit his own desires). sabé is reading vader correctly when she presents the emperor to him as a representative of things he doesn't want. while vader publicly invokes "order" to justify hunting down political dissidents like crimson dawn, in the relative privacy of his thoughts and hyperbaric chamber, he too contrasts his vision of order with the "chaos" he feels the emperor has brought. beyond the black-and-white of his political frame, vader also invokes "order" like a magical cure word, like a banishing spell against the internal disarray of his own thoughts in the wake of being punished by his own master and losing luke.
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #18, Pak/Kirk/et al - as Vader insists that order means uniting under one banner to force agreement, his thoughts dwell on his own failure to unite and agree with his own son. Repeating the word "order" like a banishment spell, alone in his hyperbaric chamber, he masks his face with his hand as though briefly giving in to despair.
sabé seems to understand this self-defensive shade of "order" as well. vader privately admits to himself that she's "faced the wall". we see this wall in one of vader's mental breakdown sequences, symbolically represented by the black toothed shell of the very hyperbaric chamber in which vader has allowed himself both the treasonous thought that his master sows "chaos" and the unusually emotional gesture of covering his face with his hand (while remembering luke's rejection and dismemberment at vader's own hand). in sabé's case, the wall has come down to keep vader from her and from padmé, who still insists there is good in him; but vader is fully aware the wall is fragile, and that sabé isn't daunted. addressing sabé in his mind, a crack running down from where she touches the barrier between them, vader acknowledges what she's really understood about him: "you think you're turning me back to the light" (#24). however, unwilling to admit that she's right -- though we know that she turns out to be, because luke "was right about me" -- he claims that what she's really done is the opposite. as the emperor explains it to sabé, she's merely reminded vader of what is was like to feel weak, grief, and fear by challenging his sense of power; as vader puts it to himself, "never challenge my power" (#28), or "none should forget, ever again, that I am a sith" (#29). the emperor and his former naboo mentee sabé each pick up on something real, if conflicting, about vader's internal disorder; if vader happens to prefer the emperor's read, even as he privately descries his master's "chaos", it's not because sabé has read him wrong.
padmé's remaining handmaidens add a new spin to this dynamic -- they've shown up to save sabé from vader's corrupting influence, and claim they don't care about vader at all, and yet to access her they've had to insert themselves as readers into vader's plot. like other slicers in the comic, the handmaidens have gone for vader's armor; unlike other slicers, they don't want (or know better than) to puppet the armor itself. slicing into vader's control panel, gathering the codes to destroy his flagship, they create a set up where no one has to die: vader can simply give sabé up to save his flagship, to save face. what they handmaidens have failed to take into account is that vader has been faceplanting his entire life.
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #30, Pak/Ross/et al - Having accessed the codes to destroy the Executor by slicing Vader's suit, the handmaidens try to pressure him into giving up Sabé. Vader's response gives them a glimpse into the abyss.
far from reacting negatively to the security breach caused by his own armor, vader eats up the threat to his flagship with hungry approval. he has already made them an offer to join him and sabé, framing it as the only way to honor padmé's legacy; if dormé and the other padmé doubles would "kill thousands for her [sabé]", then they're "ready". on one level, vader is calling a bluff here -- dormé and the others are unlikely to suddenly condone the deaths of thousands. vader may struggle to tell the handmaidens apart visually, even from padmé, but he has a sixth sense for ruthlessness. sabé has already passed the test of two sith lords: not only has she gotten vader to kill her own enemies, she has also goaded the emperor into making destructively self-defensive choices. attacked by the emperor's guards on his orders, sabé outmaneuvers both the guards and palpatine, getting the guards to shoot at him instead of her. the emperor is provoked into killing them, letting slip that he too has supernatural abilities.
Tumblr media
Darth Vader (2020-) #28, Pak/Ienco/et al - while it's the Emperor's lightning that wraps around his guards, the puppet lines might well be coming from Sabé from behind the throne.
with dormé, who infiltrates the executor pretending to be sabé, vader sets up a telling trial: dormé as sabé is given a chance to confront two stormtroopers who have been openly discussing her "classified" mission in "public". putting a gun in her reach, then provoking the troopers into attacking her by asking if they're just going to wait for her to kill them, vader forces dormé to pick up the gun and shoot in self-defense. dormé proves she isn't sabé, vader claims, because she ends up leaving the troopers alive.
impressive as the threat of blowing up the executor may sound, in other words, dormé's response to the test indicates that the likelihood of followthrough from these handmaidens is low. and yet, vader isn't dismissing the threat -- he's encouraging it, using the very order palpatine gave anakin to kill count dooku ("do it") to frame the stakes. he doesn't want a bloodless exchange; he wants destructively self-defensive bloodshed. calling on the same enabling permission structure that led him to listen to one sith lord and murder another, vader calmly reveals that the only self-destruction mechanisms he cares about are for the handmaidens' moral qualms. (unfazed as he appears, one can imagine there's more going on beyond the mask; he's not just replaying his own induction into the ranks of the sith, he's gotten padmé doubles to threaten him with a version of his own "it's worth killing thousands to save padmé" reasoning.) dormé looks back at him in uncomprehending horror; though no lives end up being lost, vader has won the round. learning that sabé has been taken hostage by the grandson of a former separatist leader, the handmaidens ultimately see no choice but to join him in rescuing her. as he struts out ahead of them back on the executor, it's easy to imagine how this result underscores his notion of himself as a representative of unifying "order".
aided by his anonymous mask, vader emerges from the standoff as the victor simply because he could not be read (his motivations seem too insane for the handmaidens to comprehend at this point), even as he reveals to the reader a desire to turn the handmaidens into versions of padmé (or maybe at this point just sabé -- in any case, he claims they should join him to complete padmé's legacy) who can understand him (by making anakin's choice to sacrifice thousands for one: "do it"). as sabé is right in so much of her understanding of vader, vader is not wrong to understand sabé as someone who has already made that choice (beyond how she's dealt with the emperor and vader, she effectively sent a hundred naboo fighters to their deaths by trying to kill vader for padmé). what vader doesn't yet know, however, is that sabé has only been captured because she tried to prevent one person from taking actions that might seal hundreds of deaths ("you cannot do this", she says, in contrast to vader's "do it"). moved by regrets, sabé can read herself well enough to try and use the powers vader has given her to save others from making the same mistakes. and that's where this boils down. vader wants his mistakes repeated (with exceptions -- luke is better off dead than palpatine's slave, he seems to think), sabé wants them prevented. vader wants the world to read like a justification of his mistake, sabé wants him to acknowledge other readings and free himself and others in the world. we know where this is going; until then, anakin remains his own worst reader.

Are there no more four-armed irkens? Whatever happened to them?
Has there ever been a Irken who cheats the system and got away with it?
Who was the first to be a tallest after Soxx,Hitz and Kii became the control brains?
It must have been a real heartache for Purple to have to carry Red’s body to a incinerator. If he had it his way, what would he do with Red’s pak Instead of having it return to the collective like everyone else?
How was Red and Purple’s reunion in the afterlife?
Did Gir not want to be a robot anymore or was this Zim’s idea for an upgrade?
A four armed foot soldier from Irk's early first era (the hilt of his sword or dagger if you're human size, is facing the wrong way. I just noticed this and will live with the shame, because I am too lazy to redraw him ><)
Tumblr media
Four armed Irkens never technically went extinct. They were common among drones in early eras because they gave drones an advantage in certain environments.
Having 4 arms became a rarity by the time the final world War began. Many hives with 4 armed drones as the norm became victims of war or genocide. Data on DNA tge of Irkens with "lost" first era traits such as elytra and wings (what modern PAKs are based on), setae hair, skimmer legs (what metal PAK legs are based on), ect, ect are saved and stored in the control brain's core collective, but rarely manifest in modern irkens because the genetic code that's passed on to new batches of smeets are heavily filtered/ regulated. Green, four limbs, ruby eyes are the standard.
It's a head canon of mine that Zim carries the 4 arm trait in his DNA even if he only has the standard 2 legs/ 2 arms. If he were to sire or carry a swarm of his own, some of his smeets may be born with 4 arms.
I believe I answered the last two questions in a different ask. If I'm mistaken, please let me know.

Zim "You consider THIS an upgrade?"
Smeet Gir *singing "The Song that Never Ends" on repeat*
[Gir became a smeet because Dib accidentally tampered with a unfinished smeetery being built on the massive and Gir's programming was downloaded into a smeet's PAK.
One misadventure lead to another, Smeet Gir made the best batch of Donuts Red and Purple ever tasted. He was declared a prodigy and was enlisted in the culinary ops where Gir began his kitchen training under the reluctant and resentful frylady, Soo-Garr...
That is the shortest version of that story.

Invader Zim Theory: The Reason Why Zib Looks More Irken, Might Have To Do With Dib & Gaz’s Mom...Being a Irken.
we know that when Zib, when he was Dib from a Alternate Timeline, had placed Zim’s Pak on his head, and it could be possible in the reboot cartoon universe, sometime after the whole Florpus incident, Dib got his hands on Zim’s Pak and placed it on himself...
it is possible that the whole Florpus thing, could take place in a Alternate Timeline, and in the Other Reboot Timeline, where everything and everyone looks how they appear in the movie...
Zim never used the Florpus, but with another plan to please his Tallest.
but in both Timelines, Dib and Gaz could turn out to be Splice Clones of their Dad and Unknown Mom, the Pak doesn’t hold any form of Irken DNA.
so it is not possible for a human to just all of a sudden look like a Irken, or like something between a Human-Irken Hybrid, my fan theory is that Zib already had Irken DNA in their genetic code and his Zim’s Pak recognized it and made the genetic code of the Irken DNA a bit more dominant.
so we know that the Pak holds like another type of soul of a Irken, like their Digital-Soul, while their other Soul is in their organic or bio-synthetic bodies.
it could be possible that like both Mass Effect and Fallout 4, that have Synthetics and in one of the endings of Mass Effect, you can mix everyone into being a type of hybrids that becoming Bio-Synthetics, like a mix of Organic and Non-Organic...
it could be possible that the Irken Race are a mix of Organic and Synthetic.
the reason why they have the Paks in the first place, and why they can’t live for very long without the Pak being on their backs, is because of their Bio-Synthetic nature, the reason why Dib and Gaz could live without a Pak, might have to do with their Human Genetics, and only being a small percent of Synthetic, but they would still be Bio-Synthetics and Splice Clones of their Father and Mother.
I think Membrane, could of had help making Dib and Gaz, who were possibly born in his Lab...I think a Irken Tallest landed on Earth, but possibly not by choice, and fell in love with it’s beauty (much like Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz, but I still like to view that Pink, being just a creation of the Original Pink who purposely abandoned Spinel.) and some point during their time on Earth, they met and fell in love with Professor Membrane.
they end up creating Dib first, by splicing their DNA together in a lab, and Dib was perhaps way too young to remember his Mom or that she was a Irken, the reason why he remembers being on a space ship when he was a baby, might because the ship had belong to his Mom, who was in fact a Alien that wasn’t from Earth.
Gaz could of been created when Dib was only 2 years old, and the reason why Irken Mom wasn’t around, might be because she wanted to protect them and their Father from the rest of the Irken Race.
Membrane might of been pulling a Stan Pines this whole time, meaning he knew the existence of Aliens, but plays the himbo role and try to play it off as just imagination and a hallucination, and hope both his children believe it to be so.
once again, there is no way that the Pak can hold any form of the Irken’s Bio-Synthetic DNA, so Zib looking like a Irken, but looking a bit like a hybrid, could have to do with him already having the Irken genetic code in his body that is thanks to his, Dib and Gaz’s Tallest Mother.
well besides the whole Tallest Miyuki being the said Irken Mom of Dib and Gaz.
it could be a different Tallest who ended up on Earth, and making a family with Membrane by using his lab to splice their DNA together and end up splice cloning Dib and then later, Gaz.
Membrane might wanted to protect Dib and Gaz from the truth, and was told to do so by the request of their Mother, who had to leave to make sure no Irkens found out about Earth, so her and Membrane’s children will live normal lives.
it is possible that in that reboot timeline, Irkens can’t be harmed by Earth’s Water....unless they end up in a polluted area where the water is polluted.
the reason why Zim might not be harmed by water in the movie, could be because it isn’t polluted, and well if Membrane and his team got off their butts and fix that problem, that would be great.
if the rain is still harmful to Irkens, it could still have some bad pollution in it, that can be harmful to their bio-synthetic bodies, and if it were fixed, the rain would no longer harm them.
also despite some people not liking the new MLP, with Sunny, Izzy, Pipp, Zipp and Hitch in it, but I think I do like them a bit more than the Original Mane Six.
I mean I still love Friendship Is Magic, but while the last episodes of the season were still good, I don’t agree with solving the problem with Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy by turning them to stone.
lucky those two seem to be breaking free from that stone statue...
just because those three were “bad guys” don’t mean they were evil, and one of them or all three of them, could possibly have post traumatic stress disorder,
Tirek was in prison for a very long time, and it is insensitive of both Celestia and Luna to lock up creatures, like that Bugbear just for being the way it is, those creatures (besides Tirek and Cozy) were possibly the original critters that lived in the lands that would later be renamed equestria.
I mean how is it okay to punish a “bad guy” that might not be truly 100% evil and might of only end up that way because of some bad influence in their life.
like Bradford Buzzard’s Grandmother, who in my view, is the WORSE Grandmother and a disgrace to Omnimanity.
she couldn’t even tell that she was causing more harm than good to her own Grandson, which in the end, only caused him to try to stop dangerous adventures, and he might of been more of a Anti-Hero than a real villain.
plus I don’t think Bradford would be able to get through to Scrooge, because he couldn’t seem to try to empathized with Bradford, and Ludwig wasn’t helping much, even if he was right about Bradford being the worse Scout, he might only know half of the story as to why he became the worse scout.
I forgot the name of that one director from that one episode, that was suppose to make a Darkwing Duck Movie, but he was right about one thing...
about being both the Hero and Villain, it might not only been talking about Negaduck, but also Bradford and Scrooge, Bradford was possibly only transforming into that buff and armor form, because the sword had transformed him because of his negative feelings that had to do with his trauma and it is possible that Bradford had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Scrooge might have a good heart in him, but it doesn’t change the fact that he got away with some bad stuff he done, even to those who were bad but had love in their hearts for those closes to them, like Magica’s love for her brother.
Scrooge did NOTHING to help her, and if he did, I guess Lena wouldn’t happen.
the only good thing that came out of the whole Scrooge making enemies with Bradford and Magica, is that Lena and Webby got to be born.
anyway back to the whole Invader Zim Theory, also I know I did take a break from writing this, I was playing video games.
but anyway, it is possible that the Irken Race a Bio-Synthetic Species, and the reason why they are able to have Paks in the first place, is because of this.
and the reason why Zib is about to use the Pak, and the reason why he had turning a green color and look a little more Irken looking, but like a human hybrid version, is because he already had Irken DNA in his body, he wouldn’t of end up looking like Irken hybrid because of the Pak, because the Pak itself doesn’t house any of the Bio-Synthetic DNA of the Irkens, only memories of who they are and maybe even their Other Self, which would be their Digital-Soul, which means that Irkens would technically have two souls, one in their bio-synthetic body that is their dominant and outer self, and the other being a digital-soul that is their inner self that is inside their Pak.
and if the Zim in the other timeline did die, but the Pak was found right away and Zib (but was Dib at the time) placed the Pak on himself, that would mean that the Digital-Soul of the Late Zim, is now Zib’s digital-soul.
Steven Universe is technically his own brother, I believe that when Steven was being created, possibly having Rose using a fragment of herself and placing it into a newly created Pink Diamond, the said fragment split into two...
one end up staying in the Pink Diamond Gem, and the other went into the organic body of Steven.
even though Rose did some bad things, at least she was trying to change.
I like to think that she is just Pink Diamond II, who was created by Pink Diamond I who was the one who abandoned Spinel, and not Steven’s Mom Rose/Pink II.
still don’t fully agree with Greg’s view on his parents, because I don’t think he was seeing the full picture, but his parents could of at least did a better job explaining to him that they might of had sensitivity to very loud sound, that the reason why they had meatloaf was because it was for Greg’s own good, and I don’t know if it would be for his health, but it is possible they only wanted him to stay safe and have curfews was because the neighborhood they lived in was dangerous, possibly either all the time or sometimes, I’m not really sure.
the reason why his parents had made him take wrestling in the first place, was possibly so he could learn self defense.
it can still be Greg’s parents fault for not trying to talk to him about why they did the things they did and why they put him through all that.
sometimes not everything is all as it seems, Greg and Greg’s parents, were possibly both to blame, and because of how it went with them, Greg ends up repeating the same mistakes with Steven, even if not fully the same...
but Steven still had a right to be upset with Greg, he NEVER took him to the doctor, and yeah I don’t agree with him just calling Steven “Your A Gem”, if he used the words “Your Half-Gem and Half-Human” or even just “Half-Gem” I guess it would be fine.
Greg is still a good dad, in his own way, but I and maybe a few others, have come to accept the fact that he is kind of a bad dad as well, and not “bad dad” that could mean “cool” but instead the not good kind.
even if Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst might of made some some mistakes when raising Steven, they were able to give him some form of education and make him a genius, but because of a type of semi-neglect from his human parent, he had NO idea what grades were, he hasn’t been to the doctor until one of the episodes of Steven Universe Future, even Connie’s Mom showed some form of disapproval towards Greg never taking Steven to see a Doctor.
even if Steven was Half-Human and Half-Gem, she was able to diagnosis him perfectly, and from the flashbacks we seen in that episode, Steven’s problem had never started in Steven Universe Future, it had started way before that, and it was only causing some form of trauma.
if Sans is a future self of Steven, or like his human half that is still part gem, but it would be the light of his soul I guess that would be the gem half, while his other gem half, that is the pink diamond, would still be in the form of Steven...
but yeah if Sans is a future self of Steven Quartz Universe, either by Magical Resurrection or Reincarnation, then Zib could possibly always been part Irken, but when he was Dib he looked 100% human, but when he out in his Zim’s Pak, it caused the Irken DNA inside of him to make slight changes to his appearance.
Dib and Gaz, being bio-synthetic from their Mother’s side of the family, while being human from their father, is just a theory.
if it were true, and Membrane told those two the truth about them being splice clone offspring of his and a Irken Tallest he met and fell in love with, but had to leave to protect them and made him promise to keep Irken and Aliens being real a secret....
I think Gaz could take it well, maybe being shocked for a few moments before deciding to play a video game...
Dib, well he might end up breaking from the news, like picture his eyes going really wide, his pupils becoming smaller, and his mouth hanging open in shock.
and Zim is there to hear the news, and is no longer in disguise in front of Membrane.
and like Dib, Zim also ends up shocked and having the same look on his face.
also I do have a new theory now, that maybe Gregory from FNAF Security Breach, could be some form of Bio-Synthetic, maybe being a mix of a clone of crying child and being part robot or synthetic.
but anyway, not everyone has to agree about the theory about Zib, Dib and Gaz being part Irken, as well as the whole Irkens being Bio-Synthetic Race and the only reason why the Paks works on them, is because they only partly organic....also the whole rain hurting them because of pollution, is canon.
the only reason why Zim is harmed by the rain, is because of the pollution in it.
the only way Zim and other Irkens, might not end up being harmed by it, is if they fixed the pollution within the water itself.
the reason why Gaz and Dib might not be harmed by it like Zim, is because of them still being human, like if they are part Irken, their Irken side had formed some form of protection or immunity thanks to their human halves.
like I said before, it is not possible for the Pak to hold a Irken’s DNA, but it might able to do a type of scan where it can identify a Irken even if it is a hybrid one, and when Zib put Zim’s Pak on, the Pak itself had recognize him as a Irken, and became a part of him.
anyway I guess I could of finished and posted this some hours ago, but like I said, I was playing video games....
maybe I can talk more about the whole theory about Gaz, Dib and Zib being part Irken, and the whole Irken race being Bio-Synthetic,in a future post.
maybe others will like the idea about the Irkens being Bio-Synthetic, even if it is just a Fan theory, and it might never be confirmed to be true by those who created and worked on Invader Zim.
and if it isn’t confirmed, it can always be that way in the Fanon.

Note
numbers 18, 34, 62, and 98 for anarchisma character prompt you posted recently?
boy boy boy you got SO lucky you have no idea !!!!!! also hey its u i havent seen u in my notes for a while!! welcome back!! :)
ok so number 18 is a young woman named ede! she's a bio-engineer (pak expert and technician basically) who has some interesting ideas about defects- her dissertation was all about how wefy coding, a form of defective coding where a task is complected but in a roundabout way and/or on a technicality, is actually a good thing and if machine learning AIs develop ways of doing things irkens consider "defective," then perhaps they learned to do it that way for a reason and it should be analyzed and, in some cases, left as-is. she's not very popular and in her fermi fic, she's struggling to find a job and drowning in debt.
irken housing works like this: you can live somewhere rent-free, but unpaid rent will accumulate as debt, and the caveat is you can't move until you at least start paying it off.
sounds good, right? well... there's one big problem with it. y'see, ede here is trying to find a job in her field, and there are height maximums on drone work, so she can't exactly do that in the meantime. there are only so many bio-engineering labs near her, and eventually she'll run out of places to apply to.... what then? she's stuck where there aren't jobs! and she can't move anywhere to get a job because without a job, she can't begin to repay her debts!
but its okay! she eventually gets a job... though she starts to notice some. weird things with it. but youll want to remember her because she has her own arc and a feature fic (i.e. a non-anthology multichapter) she's the protagonist of!
also fun facts: ede was meant to be a very minor character, but one of my friends liked her a lot so i started featuring her more and more until she landed in her current role! so thats cool, thanks xryn shes the best character because of u
number 34 is a minor character to break the whole thing up, his name is jeek and he's one of zim's roommates on foodcourtia! he's not very important, just a fun side character ^^ he's a bit grumpy but not outright hostile. not much to say about him, he truly is Just Some Guy lmao,, him and zim (and the rest of the foodcourtia gang) are really close though! and he gets to tell people that he was roommates with one of the tallests for a little while! (bc remember in fermi 1, red lived with zim? :3 ) nobody believes him tho rip
and again with the bangers!! number 62 is pax, and he's honestly like. one of my favorite characters ever lmao. he's a rare hybrid type, half irken and half peikan- most peikans were obliterated during a war with irk and its resulting organic sweep- pax's father was one of the only few left. he looks like a normal irken externally, but he has very different internal biology, the most striking being blue blood, which in turn gives him a blue tongue! he's also omnivorious with a preference for meat and other savory foods
his experiences being a strange hybrid-type led him to being a medic- before he did that, though, he went through specialized biology schooling to become a certified exobiologist- not only is he an expert on his own species, he's an expert on non-irken biology as well! he then went through medic training and joined the irken army as a special type of combat medic called a stealth medic- it's an irken strategy used where a medic dresses in a standard elite uniform, in order to make it harder for the enemy to tell which irken is the medic and where the medic is at any given time. of course, this makes stealth medics not protected by wartime ordinances that forbid shooting at medics, but it's a small price to pay
one day, pax was doing standard combat medic duties (i.e. HE WAS WEARING WHITE and PROTECTED UNDER WAR CRIME LAWS) and he was deliberately lured into an open area via the enemy nonlethally shooting at an irken soldier so he'd come and help them, then shooting at him, blowing his arm off in the process. he tried his best to save his platoonmate but it didnt.... work. for his dedication in battle and also the sacrifice he gave for his empire, he was awarded a medal. yay for him lmao. at this point he was pretty done with the empire's shit, especially due to him insisting he needed a peikan doctor to install his new bionic arm's socket and eventually getting one from the resisty, being forced to get a highly invasive and painful "fish-hook" socket since it anchors the arm in so it wont be ripped off in battle, and the general lack of care over his own mental wellbeing after it, just "oh got your new arm? good! start relearing how to do medic stuff so we can put u back into battle kthx enjoy the parade"
anyway. he had to attend trial for the War. Crime. he was a victim of, but probing his pak memories of the accident also revealed that he was defective and therefore should not have even been in the military. panicked, he fled and ended up on cyberflox as a fugitive. he currently works at a warehouse selling perfectly normal wares, just perfectly normal smeets- items. items. they sell items!
anyway he's currently an extremely jaded ..... ""candy"" addict, who keeps everyone at arm's length and is unable to process the trauma that he went through in the army and his subsequent fleeing- the love of his life was later killed in action due to being shot and the new combat medic being unable to dose painkillers properly- his lover was also an addict and therefore needed a different painkiller dose- if pax was there, he would've lived. he's been through horrific trauma and all he can do about it is stay at a job he hates in order to somehow take it down from the inside, and do heroin at night to keep the nightmares at bay.
did i mention he's fifteen?
number 98 is titch! he's a zimlike heretirken who screams at the top of his lungs due to being near-completely deaf. he's currently developing an irken sign language called gesturespeak, and is interested in other languages and their nuances as a result! he wanted to be in the military but his father insisted he shouldn't, due to his inability to hear any threats. (it's a lot more complicated than that, but that's the excuse he's going with for now) his father did give him a heavy weapons flamethrower as a consolation prize though, and he loves that thing to death! we actually meet him in h-word as one of the heretirkens red runs into at some point! so look out for that lmao!!
anyway i hope u liked ur picks!! like i said in my other post, u picked ur numbers well because u got TWO protagonists and two of my favorite characters!!!!!!!

OOC: Going In-Depth on How the Nano-Virus Affected This Zim
I never quite went super in-depth on how the virus affected Zim in this AU, so here you go:
When Zim was initially infected, this nano-virus went to work. What it does is it turns off and breaks each of the PAK systems overtime, corrupting the code to where they are broken beyond repair. As Zim was quarantined on Irk, he was attatched to a computer that was meant to fix the broken or damaged systems. However, this strain of the nano-virus had no cure, so his PAK systems still went down one by one.
The PAK was not the only think affected by this nano-virus' reign of terror. The virus altered Zim's brain chemistry, making him more and more like an intelligent wild animal as it progressed. The poor guy spiraled down into pure insanity as he desparately tried to keep his mind in tact. Unfortunately, the virus won. It eventually allowed this Zim to merely act out of instinct rather than reason, which is why he began acting so territorial and aggressive. It is also why he attacked and k*lled one of the scientists that were watching him, as he saw them as a potential threat.
The nano-virus initiated a painful transformation of Zim's entire physiogamy, putting him through extreme agony. His size (and bulk) increased, he grew toxic spikes, he sprouted six more legs, and he gained the ability to spew two different types of gases from the newly-sprouted sack in the back of his throat. The virus did improve some parts of Zim's phisiogamy, though. His rib cage and spine became more flexible, allowing him to bend in crazy ways and squeeze through small openings. His eyesight, smell, and hearing were greatly improved. He became much more durable, his muscle and fat layer becoming tougher and his exoskeleton hardening. He was able to eat just about anything without issue, though he preferred detritus and garbage.
However, the negatives far outweighed the positives as this Zim had become a dangerous wild beast, both to humans AND Irkens.
TL;DR: A nano-virus turned an already-defective Irken into an abomination. I hope you had as much fun reading this as I enjoyed writing it.

Detection as well as depiction regarding piperine synthase through black pepper, Piper nigrum M.
Transforming expansion factor-beta A single (TGF-beta A single) siRNA could amazingly clogged OBCM-induced chemomigration along with beta 1 along with 'beta' Several integrin term within cancer of the breast cellular material. Stimulation involving cellular material using OBCM caused a boost in Akt along with extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) phosphorylation within a time-dependent method. Furthermore, management of MDA-MB-231 cells along with phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase inhibitor (LY294002), ERK inhibitor (PD98059), NF-kappa T chemical (PDTC), as well as My partner and i kappa N protease chemical (TPCK) inhibited OBCM-induced cells migration and integrins appearance. Treatment of MDA-MB-231 tissues together with OBCM brought on My spouse and i kappa B kinase alpha/beta (IKK alpha/beta) phosphorylation, I kappa T alpha phosphorylation, We kappa B alpha dog wreckage, p65 Ser(531) phosphorylation, along with kappa B-luciferase exercise. Your OBCM-mediated increases inside IKK alpha/beta phosphorylation, p65 Ser(536) phosphorylation, and kappa B-luciferase exercise were limited by LY294002 and also PD98059. Furthermore, TGF-beta A single siRNA also reduced the particular OBCM-induced ERK, Akt, IKK alpha/beta, My spouse and i kappa N alpha, as well as p65 phosphorylation. Obtained together, these types of final results claim that your osteoblast-derived TGF-beta One particular works by way of Akt along with ERK, which often triggers IKK alpha/beta along with NF-kappa T, allowing the activations regarding try out One and also beta Several integrins and contributing your migration involving breast cancer mobile. (H) '07 Wiley-Liss, Incorporated. In the past, all of us found that oncogenically changed tissue acquired a lesser number of filopodia plus much more huge, p21-activated kinase (PAK)-dependent characteristics than normal cellular material. These kind of significant protrusions (LPs) were greater throughout tissue indicating RhoA(N19) along with Cdc42-associated kinase (ACK). Below, many of us decide how Selleckchem LBH589 GTPase-mediated systems of focal contact (FC) legislations impact these types of humps. Constructs coding a variety of protein ended up released straight into tissue which are and then studied by microscopy as well as computerized picture control as well as analysis. Constructs that will prevented PAK recruitment by simply PAK-interacting trade element (PIX) or perhaps constrained PAK home time in FCs diminished each humps. Therefore, filopodia were also PAK-dependent. Analysis associated with FC submission inside cells indicating PAK inside the profile or deficiency of PAK kinase chemical area (Child) recommended in which PAK enlarged FCs without affecting the epidemic involving sometimes protrusion. Little one as well as Guitar's neck phrase greater LPs but not filopodia. Nck didn't synergize along with Youngster or ACK as well as RhoA(N19) inside increasing LPs. Guitar's neck and Youngster synergistically increased filopodia, probably since The neck and throat enrolled PAK to FCs although KID stopped his or her dissociation by PAK-mediated autophosphorylation. Coexpression associated with Nck, ACK, along with RhoA(N19) abrogated filopodia as well as replicated the altered phenotype. Given that Guitar's neck recruitment regarding PAK is actually suggested as a factor inside persistence involving online activity, many of us analyzed the actual PAK-Nck user interface. Filopodia have been removed through the Nck PAK-binding domain and LPs by the PAK Nck-binding website. The results suggested that filopodia formation offers more stringent requirements compared to LP creation, and also Guitar's neck as well as PAK are employed in a different way from the lumps.

Now there is a ton of documentation on thing subject but since a lot of the older guides talk about Ark on different FW might throw people off and they may start looking for some that say how to install on FW3.63. So the number one thing we have been getting asked is how do you install homebrew and emulators on Ark-2.
#Vita emulator 2017 plus#
Now this brings a lot of newcomers to the scene to enjoy some homebrew and emulators, plus let not forget some of those PSP games that are not in the PlayStation store. Since the release of psvimgtools a lot of people have been able to put Ark-2on their PSVita or PSTV with FW3.63.

Top 10 most expensive NFTs sales ever
Tumblr media
1. The Merge
Pak’s “The Merge,” which was the most costly NFT ever sold, was the last
The $91.8 million price tag set a new record for a publicly auctioned work of art by a living artist
Nifty Gateway sold the NFT to 28,893 collectors, who bought 312,686 units of mass (which were single NFTs)
These devices had a $575 initial price that rose by $25 every six hours
Three sizable white masses (dots) against a dark background make up the NFT itself and the mass of mass consumers would grow as more joined them
2. CryptoPunk #7523
The second-most expensive CryptoPunk NFT ever sold is CryptoPunk #7523
Amazingly, it went for $11.75 million
Furthermore, a wallet placed a bid of 20,400 ETH, or around $65 million, more than four months ago
Before it could be approved, the bid was withdrawn
Among the other significant offers was Pranksy, a well-known NFT collector, who offered 800ETH, or around $1.5 million, in his bid
But this offer was also rejected, these significant bids demonstrate how highly the CryptoPunk collection is regarded
3. CLOCK
The origin of the third most expensive NFT ever sold is a little unusual
After Julian Assange was controversially imprisoned in May 2019, it was established to gather money for his defence
Because of his involvement with the website he created, WikiLeaks, Assange is currently behind bars on suspicion of espionage against the US Government
The NFT itself is just a clock that shows how many days Assange has been detained
Over 10,000 backers, each of whom owns a part of the NFT, raised the astronomical $56 million price tag
4. HUMAN ONE
A digital/physical hybrid work of art likewise created by Beeple is called Human One
When it was put up for auction as a part of Christie’s 21st Century Evening Sale on November 9, 2021, it brought in a record $28.9 million
The interesting part about this NFT is how the visuals evolve over time
Even though Beeple doesn’t actually own the artwork, he still has remote access to it and can regularly edit it
People said that efforts fusing many TVs into unique shapes and patterns served as the piece’s inspiration
5. CryptoPunk #5822
With a staggering $23 million price tag, CryptoPunk #5822 is the most expensive CryptoPunk to have ever been sold
Throughout the token’s lifetime, there have been numerous bids totalling more than 1000 ETH (or about $3 million)
All of these, though, have been rejected by the owner, additionally, the owner 0xDeepak has repeatedly listed it for tens of thousands of ETH
None of these listings, however, have materialized
The owner last listed the NFT 19 days ago after transferring it to an unnamed wallet with the code 7DDFFB
6. The First 5000 Days
Another one of Beeples top-grossing NFT products is The First 5000 Days
It is a collage made by Beeples for his everyday’s series out of 5000 different NFTs
It was auctioned off at Christie’s Auction house in 2021 for an astounding $69 million (42.329 ETH)
The NFT was sold to Vignesh Sundaresan, a programmer residing in Singapore who has mostly gained money through investing in the cryptocurrency markets
The NFT being sold to an individual investor is the most expensive one ever
7. CryptoPunk #4156
The CryptoPunk collection also included the seventh most costly NFT ever sold
4 months ago, number 4156 was sold for 2500 ETH, approximately $10.26m at the time
#4156 has sold several times during the course of its existence
It sold for 650 ETH less than a year ago, albeit the seller is probably hating themselves for doing so
Prior to this, a few months after it was issued, it was sold for 3.29 ETH more than 4 years ago
8. CryptoPunk #3100
When CryptoPunk #3100 sold for 4200 ETH, which was equivalent to $7.67 million at the time, it broke the previous record for the highest-priced NFT from the collection

Any headcannons or ideas of Zim knowledge on earthly fashion?
First of all, I love this ask.
Zim’s knowledge of Earth fashion is completely unknown to anyone that isn’t him. He could be extremely knowledgeable, he could know nothing. Only Zim can say for sure.
When it comes to clothes, Zim tries to wear irken clothing or something similar to irken clothing whenever possible. He mostly wears those red tunic/dress/armour/shirt things that he’s constantly seen wearing, as it already looks like human clothing, provides better protection from both attacks and the environment than human clothes, and no one ever seems to question why Zim’s clothes are extremely hard to tear or puncture and also seem to be fireproof.
It’s actually exactly the same when it comes to school mandated clothing, like lab coats. The school does do stuff that involves actual science every once in a while (it’s one of the only parts of the school that has funding of any kind, as Membrane Labs tends to donate old lab equipment), and those lessons require lab coats. Whenever Zim’s class does this stuff, Zim wears his old lab coat from his scientist job instead of the provided lab coats. He’s allowed to do this because of his PAK.
Zim ended up telling the school that his “backpack” is an important medical device that he can’t remove (which isn’t technically a lie), so the school is aware of the fact that he can’t remove his PAK or put it on over another piece of clothing, as that would get in between the PAK and Zim’s body. Because of this, he’s allowed to bring his old lab coat from home instead of using a school provided one because his lab coat is designed with his PAK in mind, having a hole on the back that the PAK fits through. It’s the same situation with all of the things at school that normally require different clothing. Zim is allowed to wear his regular clothes instead of gym clothes for example, and the already not-very-restrictive school dress code doesn’t really apply to him.
But Zim does change into proper human clothes occasionally.
Now, there are a few things that Zim absolutely will not do when it comes to fashion.
He will never in a million years go around without any gloves (irken hands are sacred and must be covered up at all times), wear fingerless gloves (only the Tallest have that privilege) or wear green gloves (looks too much like you’re not wearing gloves at all).
He will never be seen without those black military boots. (Just like the hands, Irken feet are considered extremely sacred and must be covered up at all times). If he’s not wearing his usual military boots, he’s wearing a different kind of boot. You’ll never see Zim in sneakers or shoes.
He would rather die than wear high heels or platform shoes. Height altering clothing like that is banned by the empire for obvious reasons, and it’s a rule that Zim refuses to break.
Apart from those three rules, nothing’s off the table for Zim when it comes to fashion.
The easiest thing to look at is Zim’s dress clothes. The clothes he wears in very formal environments, like a school dance for example.
Zim prefers to wear dresses more than what’s considered “boys formal clothing” like tuxedos for a variety of reasons, some of the biggest ones being that irkens don’t have any concept of gendered clothing, dresses look more like irken ceremonial clothing (what irkens wear in formal environments), and the fact that backless dresses don’t need any modifications to make his PAK fit.
Speaking of modifications, if Zim puts on something that covers up his back and blocks his PAK’s access to his spinal implants, his PAK will automatically burn and cut its way through the clothing to reach the spinal implants. This means that Zim doesn’t have to manually cut holes in any human clothes that he wears, but it does make wearing human clothes a bit hard in the long term, as the holes cut through them by the PAK are, well, holes. Holes that eventually grow larger and make the shirt unwearable after a while.
So if Zim needs to wear human formal clothing, he’s almost always going to wear a backless dress of some sort, usual coloured red or purple. Usually purple because it’s his favourite colour.
In more casual situations, Zim doesn’t usually wear human clothes, his irken clothes work just fine, but when he does wear human clothes it’s a complete dice roll as to what he’ll look like.
Zim will either walk into class looking absolutely stylish, with him choosing some sort of aesthetic and going for that, or he’ll walk into class wearing such an abomination against fashion that it hurts to look at him. There is no in between.
Zim will either pick an aesthetic and go for that, usually nailing whatever he’s going for, or he’ll walk into class wearing clothing that probably goes against the Geneva Convention where absolutely nothing goes together and it hurts to look in his general direction.
No one in school knows if Zim genuinely doesn’t know what he’s doing and is putting together the good looking outfits by chance, or if he’s actually really good with fashion and actively chooses to commit crimes against fashion half the time. (Spoiler: it’s both).
