Chris Evans Preferred Partner
Tumblr media
Physical Look: High Priestess, 5 of Swords. Age is irrelevant to him. He prefers someone almost alien like. They should have the type of appearance that some people might be confused by. Think of that model whose eyes are slightly too far apart but she's still pretty. It's like an unusual, rare pretty. They may highlight a feature that others try to hide. Eccentric or exotic style and/or look. There is something in the appearance that feels wrong but it isn't, it's uniquely pretty. They might look the opposite of what is traditionally pretty too. A lot to do with going against tradition here. Could be someone that comes from a different cultural or racial background than him too. Or maybe they dress in an unusual way or wear their makeup in a way that isn't common. 5 of swords, it the mean girl card so this person may look cold or unapproachable. In pictures, they may not smile but look intense. They don't look warm and inviting, they look mysterious and cool. Someone that encapsulates this would be Effie from Skins or Stevie Nicks when she was younger. They look like an outsider to society.
Deeper view: the empress, the queen of swords, the fool, 5 of cups
When I was reading, I got this scene that visualizes exactly what he wants in a partner.
Chris comes home at 2am. PP was waiting up and asked him where he has been. He says I was next door having a beer with the neighbors. PP says okay. PP tells him they cooked him food and that they're happy he's home safe. PP goes to bed, but they know he's lying because the neighbor is out of town.
This scenario perfectly summarizes the cards that I got.
First of all, Chris wants his preferred partner to have motherly qualities but also have their own hobbies or business. He wants them to cook, clean, and care for him. He wants them to not center their life around him, essentially they need to have their own life. If he were to die tomorrow, this person would need to be able to pick themselves up and keep going. They would of course be sad, but they wouldn't let his death define them.
This is where it gets a bit contradicting.
He wants his preferred partner to be a bad bitch. They need to be assertive. They need to be someone that demands the truth. They need to be someone that is brave. Someone that is smart and can put things together. They might already know the answer before asking the question. They don't back down, they keep pushing until they get what they are looking for.
However, he also wants them to be naive. He wants them to let him get away with things. He wants them to not question him. He wants them to suffer in silence. They should only bring him peace. They shouldn't nag him or annoy him in any way. Complaining about him or anything would be annoying.
So it's kind of like, the thing he wants is also the thing he can't handle.
Anyways, he wants them to be someone that he can have fun with. They need to be funny and provide him with entertainment. They could be someone that is spiritual or hippie-like. They need to enjoy life. They might act childlike or have the optimism of a child. They shouldn't be someone that has experienced too much hardship, or if they have, they don't show it. This is someone carefree, a blank slate, a breath of fresh air.

15 questions
tagged by @tough-n-dumb, thanks friend!
Were you named after anyone?
Not “after”, per se, but my dad “discovered” my name after making a new friend in the glorious Montreal Red Light Disco District... who turned out to be an Italian exotic male dancer (he never told my mom that’s where he got the inspiration from until 30-some years later)
My middle name is my mom’s because my frazzled, mid-20s, overwhelmed first-time parents hadn’t thought of one before he went to register my birth so he kinda blanked and went with hers and she was pissed off because she doesn’t  like her name.
0/2, Papa.
When was the last time you cried?
Some time in the last month.
Do you have kids?
Two, elementary school age, although the eldest is solidly in his tweens and giving me a fantastic preview of the fun years ahead.
Do you use sarcasm?
Just did, didn’t I?
Actually, much less than I used to when I was younger. Mostly for joking around  or ranting about our incompetent colleagues with my work wife.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Not to sound like a hippie on Main, but I’d say their energy? Their vibe? Some people come off as very warm, and others colder (and some, downright antipathic). Some have this bubbling, crackling energy to them, others are super chill and calm. Some have this spark of intelligence or quick wit about them, and others make you wonder if there’s anybody home. So a bit of all of that.
A smile, greeting and eye contact (can all be super quick, just acknowledge you see the other person) go a long way in giving off good vibes, so we’ll definitely start on the wrong foot if the other person doesn’t do any of those. Be polite.
What’s your eye color?
Brown
Scary movies or happy endings?
I don’t like scary / horror movies with gore and torture. I do enjoy a good ghost story (the Gothicker, the better) and some psychological horror.
Love happy endings although unhappy ones definitely inspire a lot more fanfic.
Any special talents?
I never look at the picture when doing jigsaw puzzles and WILL complete it before you do.
Where were you born?
Province of Québec, Canada
What are your hobbies?
Phew... there’s a few, and they tend to be seasonal. Summer is reading, hiking, baseball, gardening, camping. Other seasons have baking, crochet, watching TV, playing old-school computer games, and getting ready for whatever holiday or birthday is upcoming. Puzzles and writing year-round (if inspiration striked and fellow fans are around!)
Have any pets?
2 cats (and often at least another because we are a foster family to our local rescue), 2 rabbits and 4 3 chicken (found one dead yesterday after that major storm / tornado passed. Her ancient 3 year old heart couldn’t handle it. RIP Matante.)
What sports do/have you played?
Phew... there’s a few there too. I’m always down to play pretty much anything with a ball (beach volleyball! street ball hockey!), but on the other hand, will probably get my Canadian citizenship revoked at some point because I do no winter sport except for snowshoeing and some shitty skating.
I played provincial-level softball and badminton in school. I did recreational synchronized swimming, various styles of dance, varsity basketball. Now, I play softball, tennis (although my dad is aggressively trying to draft me into pickleball), try to get in a game of golf or two per summer (every addition to this sentence makes me feel 10 years older). In non-summer, I practice aikido, and love hiking, especially in the fall.
How tall are you?
5′7″, or 170cm
Favorite subject at school?
History and Drama in High School, Anthropology and some of my Forensics classes in University (”no applied science”, you ask? meh, not really. Science was me playing Life on Safe Mode).
Dream Job?
I would’ve loved to study Anthropology further and become an archeologist (although I did take one Biological / Genetic Anthro class that was absolutely fascinating and made me reconsider Things) but I’d had enough Academia back then. I wanted to get a job, stop being beyond broke, and travel.
Nowadays I get this massive urge to dump everything corporate and move someplace with shorter, kinder winters, ideally not too far from the sea, and get a bunch of goats and chicken, fruit trees and grapevines, grow a shitload of tomatoes and eggplant, bake bread daily, and write in the evenings. Just need to win the lottery first but then I’m makin’ it happen.
tagging (apologies for the double tags if you got them, I lost track) @jomiddlemarch, @tortoisesshells, @fericita-s, @combat-librarian, @divinecomedienne, @luarenah

youtube

The song we’re listening to here is a Sephardic love song about someone watching a pretty girl walk down a street and being too nervous to talk to her -- pretty standard love song fare.  The two interesting things about it that I want to highlight are its use of language and its marketing.
This song is in . . . well, no.  It’s not in a language.  It’s in several different languages -- the liner notes to the album claim Ladino, Italian, French, English, and Arabic -- all switching back and forth, sometimes even within a phrase.  It’s a really cool effect, and it’s a nice nod to how people who live in borderlands actually talk, with bits of words and phrases combining, drawing concepts from the language that expresses them best, putting one’s own particular linguistic spin on one’s thoughts.  Add in the extra layers of language, culture, and migration that come with this being a Sephardic Jewish song, and you’ve got a really rich linguistic blend here.
Now, take a look at that album art!  This performance of this song comes from a 2000 album called Putumayo Presents: A Jewish Odyssey.  Putumayo is a record label founded in 1993 that publishes compilation albums of blues, jazz, and “world music.”  If you’ve spent any time in ethnomusicology circles, you know that saying the words “world music” can cause some of our eyebrows to twitch in interesting ways.  “World music” is largely a marketing term.  It’s deeply, deeply well-meant, and it did introduce many folk music styles to people who would otherwise not have heard of them.  Putumayo was one of the biggest “world music” promoters back in the early 2000s, although their albums are a little less ubiquitous these days.
You used to see them for sale in vaguely hippie shops and in Starbucks all the time.  The music on these albums was usually very good and very well chosen, but the marketing was what drove me crazy.  All of the albums had cover art that looked nearly identical to what you see up there in the video image, so chipper and generic that it was hard to tell which culture’s music you were being sold unless you squinted really hard at the title of the album.  The folks on this album cover are showing a couple of vaguely Jewish-adjacent signs.  If you look closely, there’s a Star of David, and the clarinet, the violin, the guy in the flat cap, and the trumpeter with his brimmed hat, glasses, and beard could all plausibly give an overall impression of “Jewishness” -- but you know that, next week, these exact same characters will appear in largely the same poses and costumes on an album of, I don’t know, Portuguese music or something.
For me, that’s why the marketing version of “world music” makes my eyebrows twitch in interesting ways.  Inside that album is some really amazing Jewish music, but there’s no cue that might tell someone who is considering picking it up what they might understand by “Jewish” here.  It’s all exotic and cool and funky and maybe a bit politely Transgressive™, giving you the feel of someone who is worldly and well-traveled and can tell interesting stories at dinner parties.  But there’s no sense of how the music works, or who the real people whose culture you’re allegedly hearing might actually be.  “World music” marketing is about the consumer’s appearance rather than the performers’ culture, and I think that’s cheating everyone involved in the transaction.
But, hey, once you get past the cover, the music is pretty good . . . you just have to get past the cover!

The Evolution of Trends
Fashion has always reflected society and current events, and it continues to do so now. Clothing has been used to make a statement about who you are and what you believe in throughout history.
Hippie Style
Hippies wore long, loose-fitting garments made of natural materials. Space-age geometric patterns in brilliant colours, shift dresses, and coloured tights became fashionable at the time.
Tumblr media
In the 1970s, exotic fabrics and bell-bottom jeans were worn by both men and women and this replaced the loose-fitting hippy clothing of the 1960s. Hemlines continued to rise, while hot pants remained fashionable, reflecting the decade’s colourful flair. Longer hemlines from mid-calf to ankle-length were also worn. Women paired their trousers or skirts with peasant-style blouses, particularly those with off-the-shoulder necklines and lace trim. With this trend, embroidered garments became particularly fashionable. Bright patterns and form-fitting clothing were popular throughout the disco era, and they were supposed to show off the body.
Tumblr media
 The Punk Movement
In the 1980s The punk movement was an outpouring of rage in response to the economic and political circumstances of the period. Designers like Vivienne Westwood and bands like the Sex Pistols fueled this trend. Dr. Marten and steel-toed army boots, chains, tartan patterns, and bondage pants were popular among punks. During this time, punks put a greater emphasis on their hair, colouring, teasing, and chopping it into asymmetric styles that defied gravity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heavy eyeliner was experimented with by both women and men. Neon colours, jelly shoes, tight jeans, leggings, leg warmers, and oversized sweaters were worn by the women. For both sexes, menswear-inspired outfits became trendy. Men wore 'power suits,' which were so named because of their high cost, which made them a reflection of the wearer's wealth. Big shoulder pads were used on women's jackets to make the shoulders appear higher and larger, similar to the male body figure. Acid-washed jeans or parachute pants, jean jackets, polo shirts with the collar up, high-top sneakers, and loose blazers with the sleeves pulled up were among the other fashion trends. During the 1980s, sports shoes grew increasingly valuable, both in terms of price and popularity.
 Grunge Style
This era was heavily influenced by bands like Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. Rock concert tee shirts were worn under plaid flannel shirts, jeans, and long, greasy hair during this period. Both men and women wore overalls with one or both shoulder straps unhooked. The goth fashion trend emerged from the punk style of the 1870s and 1980s, which featured black clothing, black boots, and studded bracelets.
Women wore babydoll dresses and spaghetti-strap slip dresses over tee shirts, especially with thigh-high stockings. They began to get navel piercings at the same time when belly shirts with exposed midriffs were trendy. Chunky platform shoes with layers of rubber soles that made the wearer appear taller. As hip-hop got more popular, jeans became baggier, frequently in boldly dyed shades like red or green. Men began to sag their pants, wearing them baggy and below the hips.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
  21st Century Fashion
There are still movements that happen in todays world that people wear certain clothing pieces for to make a statement but In the 21st Century we see trends from the past being reused all the time. A few years ago fashion trends like the hippie, punk and grunge style all came about because of different beliefs and movements that people stood for at the time. You were able to be identified by what you wore. In the 21st Century this is still somewhat true but in my opinion, when certain styles like the ones i've listed above are reused they don't hold the same weight or value as they did at the time. There is nothing new under the sun so we see the same trends recycled all the time with just a little added twist.
In recent years I think the trends being made are usually by celebrities and influencers which are being catered more towards the fast fashion side of things. The clothing holds no value and has no meaning and is just worn to be worn. The fashion trends of today make you more body aware as it's mostly all tight fitted dresses with unnecessary cut out pieces of fabric in different places.

Each of the FGG start a YouTube channel. What kinda content would they produce and how successful would they be?
Evan: Vigilante justice content. Catches everyone from thieves to pedos. Donates all of his channel revenue to children's hospitals. Becomes quite successful but is eventually shut down for "interfering with the justice system".
Lukas: He's like the anti-Bob Ross. Paints sad little trees while he bitches about stuff. Hates everything he paints, so every video ends with him splashing white paint all over the canvas to start over. Channel gets a small cult following.
Glenvar: A let's play channel where he has to take a shot of whisky each time he loses the game. Ends up completely hammered by the end of each video and has never beaten a single game. His channel is like a trainwreck--it's a disaster but you just can't look away.
Alaine: Dancing and singing videos. Channel gets banned immediately for copyright violations even though they're her own original songs, because Youtube.
Jeimos: Makes a Mythbusters-type program where they solve various problems using science and engineering. The channel is a huge success, but they have to shut it down after a while because they spend so much time and effort on it that it's destroying their health.
Isaac: Wildlife content in the style of Steve Irwin's "The Crocodile Hunter", except extremely budget. The "exotic wildlife" he features are things like sparrows, ladybugs, and lizards he found in his yard. Averages like 5 views per video, but is clearly having the time of his life making them.
Linde: Starts off as a beauty channel, but quickly goes the way of all beauty channels and gets involved in a bunch of ridiculous drama. Hugely popular but for all the wrong reasons.
Balthazaar: Just posts random shit he filmed on his phone. You get videos like a crackhead going mental at the gas station, squirrels humping eachother, an altercation between a Karen and a Burger King employee...one of his videos happens to go viral and he gets a few bucks from it. Like, literally a few dollars and that's it.
Skel: It's like the hydraulic press channel, except he bends/breaks random things with his mind. Channel was going really well until he almost gave himself a stroke trying to bend a Nokia phone. Spent some time in the hospital after that one.
Javaan: Runs like 100 different sketchy channels where he just reuploads stolen videos and illegally streams shows, pocketing as much money as he can before they get shut down.
Elska: A review channel where she tests and rates different weapons. Has a huge following of simpy dudes who send her their collections of shitty mall-ninja swords just to watch her break them.
Mr. Ocean: Has just one video uploaded to his channel, and it's a 1-hour video of the inside of his pocket that he took by accident. And somehow uploaded by accident. Someone needs to take his phone away from him...
Zeffer: Has a pleasant and totally normal gardening channel where he gives genuinely good advice and puts a lot of effort into his content. Becomes a famous face in the Youtube gardening community. Hippies and old ladies love him.

Outdoor Wedding Trends 2023
Tumblr media
If you are planning to tie the knot in 2023 and you love the idea of celebrating your big day in the open air, you might be wondering what are the latest outdoor wedding trends. Well, you are in luck, because we have compiled a list of some of the most popular and creative ways to make your outdoor wedding unforgettable. Here are some of the trends that we think will be hot in 2023: - Rustic chic: This trend is all about combining natural elements with elegant touches to create a cozy and charming atmosphere. Think wooden tables, lanterns, mason jars, burlap, lace, and wildflowers. You can also add some vintage or DIY details to personalize your rustic chic wedding. For example, you can use old suitcases, books, or frames as props or centerpieces. Or you can make your own signs, favors, or guest book with wood, chalkboard, or fabric. - Bohemian glam: If you want to channel your inner hippie and add some sparkle to your outdoor wedding, this trend is for you. Bohemian glam is all about mixing boho vibes with glamorous accents to create a whimsical and romantic look. Think flowy dresses, flower crowns, feathers, crystals, candles, and fairy lights. You can also incorporate some ethnic or exotic elements to spice up your bohemian glam wedding. For example, you can use Moroccan rugs, lanterns, or poufs as seating or decor. Or you can have a henna station, a tarot reader, or a fire dancer as entertainment. - Garden party: This trend is perfect for those who love nature and want to have a simple and elegant outdoor wedding. Garden party is all about creating a beautiful and relaxing setting with lush greenery, flowers, and herbs. Think garden arches, trellises, pergolas, fountains, and birdcages. You can also add some whimsical or vintage touches to enhance your garden party wedding. For example, you can use tea cups, books, or clocks as centerpieces. Or you can have a lemonade stand, a croquet game, or a butterfly release as activities. - Tropical paradise: If you are dreaming of a destination wedding but don't want to travel far, this trend is for you. Tropical paradise is all about bringing the beach vibe to your outdoor wedding with vibrant colors, exotic flowers, and tropical fruits. Think palm trees, orchids, hibiscus, pineapples, and coconuts. You can also add some fun and festive elements to make your tropical paradise wedding more lively. For example, you can use flamingos, parrots, or tiki torches as decor. Or you can have a steel drum band, a limbo contest, or a piña colada bar as entertainment. These are just some of the outdoor wedding trends that we think will be popular in 2023. Of course, you can always mix and match different trends or come up with your own ideas to suit your style and personality. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy your special day with your loved ones. Read the full article
