⛓️Dark/bad boy Shoyo Hinata⛓️

Summery:During spring break Hinata met a grup of boys who changed him

Warning:Mention of tattoos and piercings, smoking,swearing,insults, mafia and Yakuza.

Genre: Reaction of Karasuno team,fluff,angst.

Little note:I thought about this a few years ago when I saw a cosplayer do Punk Hinata and I started picturing him getting piercings and tattoos as well as him getting more confident.

Hinata arrives first after the spring break ended. Waiting for his team he tries to practices a little with some serves.

The first one to arrive is no one other than Kageyama who's trying to always be the first one to arrive as he thinks this makes him better than Hinata.

"Of course the dumbass got here first "

He says drinking some strawberry milk.

"Eh?! We'll see tomorrow-"Kageyama suddenly stops talking and stares at the ginger haired boy in front of him.

Hinata turns around to see him. "Of course! The best always comes first!" He says playful and confident.

Hinata's hair is visibly shorter, you can see his new undercut,he got a tattoo on his right hand with a skull that he tried to cover with a bracelet,but he obviously failed,his cheeck metallic piercings can't be left unnoticed and the eyeliner he's wearing.

"W-what the heck is this, dumbass?!" He adds.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Hinata genuinely seems confused.

"I see you're the same old moron." he says already done with Hinata's shit.

The first thing Tsukki does when he sees Shoyo is laughing.

As Kageyama tries to speak again Tsukki and Yamaguchi show up.

"What's so funny?"the ginger haired boy says still confused.

"The human tangerine got emo?" Tsukishima laughs harder.

"At least I'm not a nerd." Hinata says visibly annoyed.

"What did you just say?!" says as the blonde gets closer to him.

The blonde sighs and just nods.

Yamaguchi stops Tsukki. "Let's all just calm down... Please." he says worried.

"No need to be afraid, Yamaguchi! I'm pretty sure I'm not a Yakuza member. I just met some people during the spring break and they changed my perspective." He says flabbergasted. He couldn't believe his friend thought such a thing about him.

"Hinata,what happened to you? You look like you just left a Yakuza meeting." Yamaguchi says a bit afraid. The 3 boys can't help but notice Shoyo's outfit. He wears an oversized hoodie with the famous band 'Panic! At The Disco' with some jeans and a leather jacket that's now in his hands.

"Um...Hello,Hinata." Asahi says.

Tanaka, Nishinoya and Asahi finally come.

The ginger boy greets him back with a smile.

Tanaka and Nishinoya almost fainted. They both dramatize the situation like they always do.

"So you're 'that one handsome looking boy' the girls were all talking about???" Tanaka says.

"Handsome? They think I'm handsome?" Hinata responds surprised. He's smile is getting bigger and bigger.

"Thanks,I guess???" Shoyo responds a bit confused but also amused. All his friends had such interesting reactions.

"He also called you handsome" Kageyama says.

He didn't think they would react like this,but everyone is currently redirecting all their attention on his glow up.

"I guess the confidence helps a lot." He talks again.

"Confidence??Look at you! You look like that mafioso! The spanish one... Or was he colombian?"Noya says.

"You mean Pablo Escobar?" Tsukki looks at him confused and judgy.

"Yeah,that one." Nishinoya says.

"I can't believe how stupid some of you are..." Tsukki adds salty,like he usually is.

"Why is everybody acting like this is such a bad thing? Can't you guys support me? Can't you ask less questions? It's overwhelming." the ginger haired boy says as he leaves without wanting to hear another word from his friends. He goes outside and grabs his pack of cigarettes. He lights up one of them as he starts smoking trying his best to calm down.

"I asked Yamaguchi and he said you met some people during the spring break. What's up with them? Who are they?" Asahi says trying to remain calm.

A lot of thoughts are running through his head. Why is his change upsetting others so much? He's happier than ever. He feels like he found himself.

He feels a new person. Is this really that dangerous for the people around him? Are people really thinking he's a mafioso?

As he tried to feel better Sugawara grabs his cigarette "Hinata Shoyo!" He says disappointed.

"What?" Hinata says already done with all everyone. He feels like he doesn't want to see anybody at this point.

"You can't smoke! You know it can cause you severe problems!" the grey haired boy says.

Sugawara gasps with disappointed as his expression shows only how heartbroken he is. He didn't expect him to react like this.

"So fucking what? I do whatever I want with my body." Hinata responds annoyed. One of his eyes started twitching.Shoyo just reached his limits. There's no way he could stay calm now.

"All I every wanted was to protect all of you,my beloved team. You are all like my family. I can't see you destroy your health." Sugawara says calm and then looks at Daichi and tells him to go insider to see how the rest of the team does.

When Shoyo finds himself alone with Sugawara he tries to calm down a little.

Suga's eyes show nothing but love and kindness. "Come here" he responds with a warm tone.

"I know,Suga... Is just... A lot happened lately. I feel like no one understands me now. I feel happy the way I am and everyone looks at me like I'm some kind of monster. " He says as his eyes are quickly filling with tears.

Shoyo hugs him tight.

"You haven't changed. Only your appearance did. You're still my friend,my close friend. We all still need you and love you just like before. Maybe it's a lot for us to handle that you don't look like you used to before,but if it really makes you as happy as you say then we're here for you. We don't want to stay in your way of being truly yourself,but of course we worry about a sudden change. A lot of people do this to cope with different issues,just like smoking. Smoking doesn't make you any cooler,you know? As friends we can't accept such indifference regarding your health. Do you comprehend?" Says in an understanding tone.

"Good. Now let's go inside. We have to train." Suga says

"Yes, I do. I promise you I won't recklessly play with my health anymore." Hinata adds.

The Ozine Fest Halloween Special, held at the Fairview Terraces, will be the third anime/cosplay event I attended for this year, after the Pinoy Otaku Festival 2023: Shizen (Robinsons Novaliches) last May and the Best Of Anime 2023: The Reunion (SMX Convention Center Manila) last September. I never got to visit Coshabatsu, which was also held at the Fairview Terraces a few months ago.

Anyway, my awesome weekend should begin with a post-birthday celebration, with a cup of caramel macchiato iced coffee, cinnamon roll, and bloody velvet cupcake from Cafe Luca. I was initially planning to have a slice of Basque burnt cheesecake, but I changed my mind at the last minute.

I managed to take a lot of selfies, as well as food photos. I even took a couple of videos of the fork cutting a piece of the bloody velvet cupcake (one of the Halloween items).

I then uploaded the first batch of photos to my Instagram accounts. At that point, I was probably enjoying myself too much, knowing that I’d be attending the Halloween-themed anime/cosplay event later.

I only stay for about an hour since I need to get to the Ozine Fest. It was already 4:00 PM when I left the cafe.

Next stop, Fairview Terraces. I immediately headed to the event center to check some of the booths and bought a few souvenirs, including a couple of anime pins, a small Pochita plushie, and a book by Sskait (yup, he had a booth at the event).

As it is a Halloween-themed anime/cosplay event, the cosplay competitions are, of course, Halloween-related. There are also some mini-games as well. And there’s the trick or treat.

By the time I got there, the Worst Nightmare Cosplay Competition was about to begin. Seeing that most of the booths took up the event center, there’s very little space left in front of the stage. Not only that but some of the booths are located in the eastern hallway near Owndays.

From the second floor of the mall, the event center looked incredibly crowded.

Back at the event area, I had a few selfies with some of the cosplayers.

At the fountain area, I took some more selfies. The wacky ones.

The first day of the event ended as soon as the winners were announced. It was almost 7:00 PM, but the stage was empty. But the booths remained open until about closing time, I assume.

I then head to SM Fairview and visit a couple of bookshops. I managed to buy a second-hand manga at Booksale (Bodacious Space Pirates) that was on the shelf for almost four years. I remember seeing that book a lot of times whenever I passed by that branch, but it seems like no one bought it nor it was pulled out. But on that day, I finally decided to pick it up, and that was that.

I only checked the lower and upper ground levels and had dinner at Bonchon Chicken at the mall’s second level. I checked the department store after that (there’s a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf branch inside the department store aside from the one at the Parkway) and bought a couple of items at the supermarket before going home.

I must have spent a lot of money on these items, but they all serve as awesome souvenirs from the event. The manga, however, was bought outside the venue and may not be considered one of the souvenirs from the event, but I decided to include it anyway.

I'll definitely read the comic book very soon. Wish I also bought the eggplant plushie as well.

That day was really special to me since that was the first time I celebrated my birthday at my favorite hangout place post-pandemic. I bought some awesome souvenirs from the Ozine event too. I never got to eat out at a Japanese restaurant (which I did a week later) or shop for some clothes to replace the ones in my wardrobe (I only bought a Shoyo Hinata shirt at the department store a week later as well). The small Pochita plushie and the recent book from Sskait serve as my birthday presents to myself. Too bad I never got to visit the second day of the event, but I somehow managed to squeeze almost everything in one day.

And that’s how my post-birthday celebration/first time at an Ozine event went. Hopefully, I can plan my next mall-hopping trip by November, as soon as I can procure some potential additions to my wardrobe.

Tri-State Haikyuu Project

Today I am launching a brand new instagram and Tumblr page under the title "Tri-State Haikyuu ". I have been a Haikyuu fan for approximately 7 and never had the confidence to cosplay from it because I didn't know anyone else who did and I wished for a very long time that I knew other Haikyuu cosplayers so we could cosplay together. Cut to a little over a year ago, I met my friend Wen. Wen and I met through another cosplay group and they invited me to be part of their Boku no Hero Academia panel at CPAC, it wasn't until after the panel though that I found out our mutual love of anime volleyball boys. This immediately pushed me to buy my first Haikyuu cosplay, Sugawara Koushi, that I wore to Anime North 2019 and I met several other fans of the anime and it pushed me to further seek cosplayers and fans who love this show and manga. The more I ingrain myself into this fandom, the more I hear others who share that same sentiment that I had before I met a Haikyuu cosplayer in person.

The idea behind this new initiative is to be a central hub of information for cosplayers and fans of Haikyuu who live in the states New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and the adjacent areas. Not only will I be sharing cosplayers who live in this area on the instagram, I will also use the page to take submissions (by email, dm, or Tumblr submission box) to highlight panels, photoshoots and meetups happening within those areas. This is widely based on the homestuck "NYCSTUCKS" page from times passed in which they had one single page where everyone wanting to find information could do so.

For Cosplayers who wish to be spotlighted:

1- Follow @ tri_state_haikyuu (yes, I will be checking to ensure everyone gets their fair turn)

2- Then tag the page on your post where you're in Haikyuu cosplay. Anywhere on the photo is fine, example ->

Casual cosplay is fine so long as the character is recognizable but I will ask that the camera quality is 1080p (so iPhone quality at least). Selfies are also okay and also tiktok videos!

For Event Organizers who wish for their event to be advertised on the page or recruit cosplayers via the page:
