I generally don't get involved in warriors disk horse because I'm here for a good time and have other things to do than fight about cat books, but I've seen a couple takes (not going to hunt down screenshots or anything) recently that I feel like I need to say something about.

Thrushpelt is not a groomer just because he interacts with Bluepaw in a positive manner like one time while he's a warrior and she's not. (I checked Bluestar's Prophecy-- they have three interactions with each other before she becomes a warrior, all while she's an apprentice. The first is that he's impressed about her catching prey her first time out hunting. The second is him saying that she can't challenge the medicine cat. The third is him saying "may StarClan guide your paws" to her and Snowpaw when they go hunting together. They don't interact at all when she's a kit). If you think a mildly positive interaction between a child and an adult is equal to grooming, that's something you should probably do some thinking about.

In a similar vein, it's not "creepy" for Thrushpelt to not correct people when Bluefur lets the Clan think the kits are his because he's "in it to make people think they're mates". It's not some "doing the bare minimum" thing. It's helping out a friend of his for no benefit of his own because he's a nice guy. Again, if you think some guy doing a favor for someone he once had a crush on is somehow creepy and him trying to make a move, that's a reflection on you.

You're allowed to not like characters for "no reason", but you don't have to go out of your way to give yourself "a good reason" that's in no way supported by the narrative.

artistic! go ham with those little battlecats. i admire the work genetically accurate designers do but i love just gettin a lil silly with it :3

I've been trying to catch up on Better Bones these past few days (a little bit of a latecomer to the Tumblr Warrior Cats scene) and I think I've about caught up to the point where Clanmew and stuff makes sense to me!

Are there any other cases of dishonor titles like Stupidhead where they kinda backfire and are worn by the cat with pride? That chronicle had me laughing so much

I'm sure it's happened in the distant past, but a namer as bad as Bramblestar is a rare and special thing. I'd chance Pinestar would probably assign a Dishonor Title that terrible. Guy who sees two siblings with a dead mom who has a banger prefix and suffix and says, "I must give them matching names! Fur and Fur."

I feel like his heart would not be in it, to make a good Dishonor Title. Adderfang loses the Duel with Mudfur and tells Pinestar that he MUST wear the dishonor for a week, and Pinestar is just like...

"....As you wish, Adderfang. Let your honorable name hide from the holy stars for a week as it recovers. Until the quarter-moon has passed, you will be called............ browntooth (Clanmew for Cavity)"

"....cavity?"

"...Yes. You will be Cavity. For a week."

(Pinestar walks away from this interaction self-cringing, "not my best social interaction")

this is such a minor gripe about dotc compared to the . uh . Everything. but isn’t it wild that they establish tunneling as a thing in it but then . NONE of the first tunnelers are windclan? at all? (my friend @heathfall pointed this out to me but i thought you’d find it interesting)

To be fair Jackdaw's Cry was never able to choose if he wanted to be a WindClan cat or a RiverClan cat, since he had a dirt obligation that took up all his time after he died.

But yeah it's weird that Shattered Ice ultimately picks RiverClan, but it's probably another example of the Erins not caring at all about background characters.

Hawkfrost didn't really deserve the Dark Forest (especially prior to Winds of Change)

What's the point of a society of warriors if they can't get away with a little political assasination for the greater good from time to time?

But like, yeah, even if "do not murder" is one of their commandments do they seriously think what Hawkfrost's trangression is that much more egregious than their other "misguided" villains? Hawkfrost is a prime target of woobyfication.

Also by "deserve" if I'm judging by my own morality nobody deserves eternal punishment so jot that down. And by my own lore reworks damnation to the dark forest requires the living to deem you unworthy, which Hawkfrost's transgressions IIRC were never actually revealed so I'd say he gets as much of a pass by Ashfur. That's how I rationalize that one particular choice.

Currently Reading: To be honest, I think the last thing I read was a paper on grassland habitat fragmentation. Other than that I reread my own novel recently trying to do a scene change.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: I'm a spicy/savory kinda guy.

Obsession: Been having an Ace Attorney moment recently, and my retro gaming interest has come roaring back as well.

Relationship Status: Taken! We've been dating for 3.5 years.

Currently working on: A study analysis for my plant ecology course, a final project for my natural resource conservation course, and of course, Crown of Thorns over on @heathfall.

Putting Brambleclaw under my silly little microscope again and thinking about a TNP AU where he is so focused on being a good and normal member of ThunderClan that he completely ignores StarClan, like Mothwing levels of blocks them from his mind, because he just is not having ANY of that prophecy nonsense.

StarClan moves on to Squirrelpaw. Absolutely vying for a chance to live up to her father's legacy, she basically goes "hell yes prophecy time" and accepts without question.

Brambleclaw catches her sneaking out. He can't convince her not to go, but he doesn't want his mentor's daughter (who he's known since she was born) getting hurt or worse, so he comes along. Shenanigans ensue.

Has anyone noticed that in the allegiances, Daisy is described as

Daisy-cream long-furred cat from the horseplace

Which, putting aside that it's weird to continue calling her "from the horseplace" when she's been in ThunderClan for like two arcs at this point (this is pulled from The Last Hope) and no other cat is treated like that (Millie isn't described as "former kittypet" or "from Twolegplace")

She's the only cat not called a she-cat or tom.

Introducing Forest's Echo, a TNP/AVOS AU

Currently being written by @badgerstep, @doritopaw101, @elkpoint, @mothdapple, @offkeyed-reason, @troutfur, and yours truly (@heathfall).

Forest's Echo is a TNP/AVoS hybrid AU where the events of TNP never happened ('til just now) and so PO3 and OotS took place in the forest territories. As a result, when the events of TNP come to pass, the Clan's champions are chosen out of the AVoS allegiances. Chaos ensues as a very... personable lineup is selected.

(Or, as @mothdapple so elegantly wrote in the description of the prologue found here: Seasons of relative peace have passed in the forest since StarClan and the living Clans fought and defeated The Place of No Stars. But, when Twolegs threaten to destroy the Clans’ forest home, they are forced to face their greatest challenge yet. StarClan must choose their champions to save all the Clans… or die trying.)

Misty and Stone are recognized and returned home AU

(I wish it had a snappier name but unfortunately ThunderClan!Misty and Stone is pretty vague)

Anyway, the concept of the AU is that Mistykit and Stonekit remember ThunderClan and remember their mother and so do their best to sneak out of RiverClan and home to Bluefur.

They fall into the river in doing so, and guess who saves them? Ding ding ding: Mapleshade, resident haunter of the Appledusk line. Mapleshade then leads Thistleclaw over to where the kits are ("you want to be deputy. I want these kits out of RiverClan. You know what to do.")

Thistleclaw then comes crashing back into ThunderClan as a downright savior, talking about "oh, I rescued Bluefur's kits! RiverClan stole them!" cue RiverClan/ThunderClan war.

It's not super well thought out after that but it does have some interesting points
