Introducing Forest's Echo, a TNP/AVOS AU

Currently being written by @badgerstep, @doritopaw101, @elkpoint, @mothdapple, @offkeyed-reason, @troutfur, and yours truly (@heathfall).

Forest's Echo is a TNP/AVoS hybrid AU where the events of TNP never happened ('til just now) and so PO3 and OotS took place in the forest territories. As a result, when the events of TNP come to pass, the Clan's champions are chosen out of the AVoS allegiances. Chaos ensues as a very... personable lineup is selected.

(Or, as @mothdapple so elegantly wrote in the description of the prologue found here: Seasons of relative peace have passed in the forest since StarClan and the living Clans fought and defeated The Place of No Stars. But, when Twolegs threaten to destroy the Clans’ forest home, they are forced to face their greatest challenge yet. StarClan must choose their champions to save all the Clans… or die trying.)

#kingdom hearts 0.2 birth by sleep a fragmentary passage #kh0.2 #the world within #dwarf woodlands #realm of darkness #scenery #my gif #this world is interesting because it's so different from the rest #the sky looks like some sort of dome with triangular screens that project a broken glitchy sky #almost as if it takes place in some kind of data simulation #which i don't think is the case but it adds to the feeling of aqua's experiences here not feeling ''real'' #i mean this place hardly even resembles what the original world is supposed to look like #like it changed to match aqua's psyche. forcing her to look at her own reflection and confront her own fears; doubts; guilt; and sadness #actually now that i think about it this feels extremely fitting for this world #it's like when snow white was running through the forest and was so afraid that it made the trees around her look alive and dangerous #except aqua has to wander this broken world and face her dark thoughts that take shape by looking exactly like her #she's constantly running in and out of mirrors into rooms that make no logical sense like the endless staircase and the pillar maze #there are ghostly echoes spoken in her own voice that mock her by saying no one can save her and no one wants to. it's chilling #i can't even say for sure if the phantom aquas are actually physically there or if it's all in her head #similar to how she'd see visions of terra and ven #she's such a tragic character

He felt like this past day had helped him learn a lot about Usagi. Things had relaxed between them, and their interactions, while they had never not been friendly, felt more comfortable- as if the unspoken barrier that kept that last bit of formality between them had finally been crossed, and he was...excited. Raph had Casey. Donnie had April and sort of shared Leatherhead with Mikey, who also had the Justice Force. They all were his friends too, yeah, but...it was nice to have a friend who was his first. Who preferred his company over the others. A best friend.

Forest said "time for Leosagi" and DELIVERED!!! This fic continues to diverge beautifully from canon, with Mikey's powers creating a butterfly effect and dropping Leo into his angst arc Early. Thank goodness his Best Friend helps guide him through it! UwU

I was chatting with @sideguitars about how hard titles are, and remembered how much I beat my head against the wall trying to name my Worldkiller Kara AU. Ideas included:

The Power of Yuda Kal

The Power of the Beast

The Prophecy of Rozz

From Rao's Fire

The last one is the only one I even vaguely liked, but it had the disadvantage of making no damn sense with the mythology of the worldkillers.

Finally, on yet another rewatch of Jindah's Fort Rozz scenes, the line "you are a child living in light, but there is darkness in all things" jumped out at me, and I knew I had a title.
