sooo is anyone gonna write a daemon!au set in TØP's dema-verse or am I gonna have to do it myself?
#twenty one pilots#TØP#his dark materials#the citizens of dema have no daemons of course#have only the faintest concept of a Time Before Vialism when everyone was haunted by a wild animalistic figure#one that tempted and tricked them and pulled them from their True Path#before the bishops in all their glory freed their beloved citizens from this lifelong torment#trapping the beasts in long glass vials#only then could the people of dema fully focus on and commit to their Life's Purpose#of course clancy is different. clancy dreams. and in every one he dreams of an animal in the shadows#and at first hes afraid. he thinks hes somehow been corrupted#but the small twitching shape in his dreams calls to him#and then!!#he sees a bandito for the first time!!#maybe they're helping other citizens escape or just sowing the seeds of rebellion/trying to get people to think#but as clancy watches them he sees movement at their side#and there it is#some small creature mirroring their every move. their every thought.#and clancy is enraptured#anyway eventually he escapes dema and meets the banditos/the torchbearer and learns the truth abt dema/daemons etc etc#he gets dragged back and/or returns to dema out of fear/brainwashing a couple times bc Cycles#but eventually he manages to ??? break his Vial?? man idk but he's reunited with his daemon and its beautiful#also theres an epic (platonic) love story playing out between him and the torchbearer all along. natch#he helps bring down the bishops and free the city yada yada everyone gets their daemons back#the sheer POTENTIAL here folks!#anyway too bad i dont write anymore

Twenty One Pilots 7 - tape theory lol
So I think we all know what happened the other days. The red tape appeared on the covers of the past albums. What is interesting is that the tape only covers the eyes. Yet in case of Blurryface it covers one circle - and since it's Twenty One Pilots we talk about it has a huge significance
Tumblr media
So get yourself a cup of coffee and let's break down the mystery 1. The tape - significance The tape was very important element to the previous eras. In Trench it was something that was used to cover what is important, which is yourself. Remember what happened in the Nico and the niners mv? After meeting Josh Tyler was given yellow tape to keep him safe.
But it was yellow - why? Because Bishops can't see yellow. So the tape this coloured can keep you safe. How we know that? Let's look back on Ride, Tyler says he likes to "stay in the sun where he's fine". The sun is commonly drawn as yellow.
Tumblr media
In Scaled and Icy era the tape also made an appearance. In Saturday mv, after the submarine was flooded Josh used tape to try to fix it. But it was still the same yellow tape
Tumblr media
Now the tape become red. It is usually associated with sacrifice, danger, and courage. But as you can see it is not used by the pilots. This tape is used by the Bishops to cover people/animals eyes. To prevent them from seeing something they are not supposed to.
But is it the first time we see the red tape? Not really, it is the colour that Josh used in Guns for hands mv. And as you can see the tape also covers his eyes...
Tumblr media
2. Tape - covering eves
How we know it's Bishops? Well, they are the one who banned music from Dema. It is possible that they don't want other's to see what Banditos were doing, the rebellion. What does the tape cover?
On Vessel, it’s on the eyes of Tyler and Josh’s grandfathers, who in the album art could’ve served as the same vessel for their spirit.
On Blurryface, it’s blocking out the first circle, made for HDS. The bishop associated with that? Keons, the one turned (told you it will be important later).
On Trench it's over the eyes of a vulture, the Bandito’s symbol.
And on SAI it covers the eyes of Trash. Why? Trash the dragon represents a vulture. Citizens of Dema literally call vultures “trash dragons”, it means that they’re covering the vulture’s eyes completely.
3. Covering eyes in lyrics
Tumblr media
The lyric from The Outside of course - "I’ve got a long drive, I’ll tape my eyes, so I don’t fall asleep again"
But we can also see eye reference in Heavydirtysoul in "Gangsters don't cry / Therefore, therefore I'm /Mr. Misty-eyed, therefore I'm". And you might ask yourself what the hell does HDS have to do with anything. Well it has a lot to do with Keons. 4. Keons and his importance
So we already established that he is important to this theory, because he is the one who is covered on the Blurryface cover. His name is derived from a Heavydirtysoul lyric, “choKE ON Smoke”. Th
So he is a Bishop but his eyes are covered - why? Well he could be on Bandito side this whole time. Crazy, I know but hear me out.
In the music video storyline, Keons plays a pivotal role in aiding Tyler's escape from Dema and supporting the Banditos in their fight against the oppressive bishops. Keons orchestrates a diversion to allow Tyler to flee and leads a plan to crash the submarine, saving Tyler from the fake bishops' schemes. He also frames another bishop for the submarine incident, leading to their demise. Keons ultimately helps Tyler take control of a bishop vessel to destroy Dema from "the outside". Makes sense right? So it would make him a threat to the other Bishops - therefore he has to be eliminated or blinded. So that he won't interfere with their plan again.
5. Let's talk colours again I know I said that the tape is red. But is it actualy? It could be seen as deep orange and orange also plays a significance in the lore. It symbolizes being a prisoner, like in Heathens mv and Choker mv.
You might say that Heathens is not part of the lore at all. But if we talk colours then Tyler was literary wearing orange while bein opressed and then changed to yellow when he played with Josh. As if he gained the freedom to play music and where the music is prohibited? In Dema
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in Choker Tyler wore orange beanie, as a symbol of still being controled
Tumblr media
So I believe that IF the tape is orange it could be a colour of opression. Which would makes sense for Bishops to use it. But overall it also stands for determination and strength. It is sure something that Banditos will need for the final battle lol
And in the rap part in Choker you have "You get taller, bolder, stronger and the rearview only blinds you".
The rearview has a symbolism itself. Meaning, if we knew in the past what we know now, we could have acted on that insight.
And fun thing. The drumset in Saturday was also orange
Tumblr media
6. Let's circle back to what we know so far
Well, that the album is comming, which is exciting. That it would be full of lore and that we would see more of the Bishops who are out for blood and revenge
So... I will keep you updated when something new drops!

Let's talk about this.
CM Punk was a bigger star than everyone else when he came in. That is 100% fact. We would be crazy to deny it. He came in on legend status, 7 years of fans wondering if they would ever see him again. That's huge and he was a big get and for the first few months, whenever we saw him it felt like a big deal. He was putting in decent matches, he was doing incredible storytelling and he was adding so much value to the company.
That didn't last long. It became apparent well before the all out media scrum that he'd very much gone into business for himself and that he'd allowed his ego to run rampant. The list of names pouring out weekly that he had pissed off just kept getting larger and larger, and no, I don't think all the issues he had were his fault but a great many of them he claimed some fault in at least.
That media scrum was the perfect example of a man whose ego has been left to go unchecked for too long, someone who has clearly decided he's better than everyone else in the room and what he has to say matters more than what anyone else does.
After that, he was no longer the name he came in with. It's surprising that seeing AEW be completely fine without him didn't humble him even a little bit because when he came back, he didn't come back with any integrity or willingness to work to make AEW better, he was clearly, again just there for himself. Maybe at this point, he was already hoping to go back to WWE, who knows, but it was apparent he wasn't there because he cared about AEW and the fans knew it. It's an interesting bit of revisionist history happening right now that apparently WWE fans either willingly or ignorantly don't know that a large collection of AEW fans wanted him gone, because they were so tired of his attitude or they sensed he didn't care about AEW like they did. AEW fans are getting straight bullied on the internet because WWE fans think they are jealous or salty he went to WWE when that, honestly, for most, couldn't be further from the truth.
Of course he doesn't rate the top AEW guys highly, his actions for the entire time he was there showed that he didn't care that this was more than a job for them, this was a dream to put American pro-wrestling on the map again, this was a chance for wrestlers who dont fit the mould to do what they love on a huge stage. (Not a knock on WWE, by the way. They aren't wrestling. They specifically do not brand themselves as such.)
As for the WWE guys in AEW waiting to go back, they should be released. Let them go back. There seems to be this fear that if AEW releases talent that clearly wants to go back to WWE that it's a loss. It shouldn't be, they clearly don't have the companies best interests in mind, and if AEW is going to survive, it need people who believe in it 100%
AEW needs to refocus and they desperately need a restructure. They need more women in leadership for one. They need someone who can keep the egos in check but most importantly they need to remind themselves who they are and why they were so special to begin with. They have always been about heart, and wrestling, and having something to say, and passion. Some of that's been lost this year.
I firmly believe they will find it again, but I think the key is to move on, and keep grinding. Keep putting in work that silences the naysayers and is something to be proud of. I honestly wouldn't even mention Punk ever again, I'd literally scrub him and if the few friends he has left there don't understand why, I'd be asking them if they believe in what's best for AEW or what's best for them.
Anyways, here's a quick list of AEW stars that could carry the company on their back tomorrow and would smoke CM Punk on his best day.
- HANGMAN ADAM PAGE
- Orange Cassidy
- Ricky Starks
- Trent Bereta
- Wheeler Yuta
- Daniel Garcia
- Kris Statlander
- Hikaru Shida
- Julia Hart
- Willow
- Skye Blue
- Eddie Kingston
- Wardlow
- Bandito
- Konosuke Takeshita
- Kyle Fletcher
- Penta
- MAXWELL JACOB FRIEDMAN
(Edit: Darby Allin was originally on this list, I was not aware of his previous SA history with his ex or his alleged behaviours toward homeless people in his past. I'm genuinely sorry if anyone was hurt or offended by this.)

I Want To Be A YouTuber || Venom & Eddie Brock drabble
Summary: In response to Venom's demands, Eddie creates a YouTube channel
Warnings: none, just Venom being insistent 😁
Word count: 1067
Authors: Cass & Rouge
Tumblr media
Although Venom was persistent, he was the only one who persuaded Eddie Brock to do dumb things. Eddie always listened to Venom primarily to make him shut his mouth and hush him; it never lasted more than a few minutes. Eddie was this time persuaded by Venom to start a YouTube channel.
Venom exhorted Eddie, "We're unusual! Take us to the world. We'll be famous like Kim Kardashian!"
Eddie finally agreed to Venom's idea after almost two weeks. "I can't believe we are doing this..." Eddie muttered as he set up the camera and the background. The youtubers he saw all had nice backgrounds. "I am really unsure about this, V... What are we even gonna record?"
"You must introduce yourself, punk," Venom instructed firmly and loudly. "You must explain who you are and why you are opening the channel," symbiote responded. You wanna get some pussies? Don't get in front of the camera with that stupid grin of yours. You have to present like a cool, bad guy. Girls like bad boys. Say something like ‘Yo, I'm Eddie Brock and I've gotta show you what I got after that fucking meteor hit our planet’, yeah?" Venom joked. "Like cool banditos, yeah?" Symbiote advised. “We’ll be recording us. We’re cool, yeah?”
"There's no way I know how, but I'm gonna say you watch too much YouTube," Eddie pointed out.
As Eddie sat in front of the camera, he turned it on and began recording. "Hello! I'm Eddie, and welcome to my channel! Many of you may wonder why I have a channel, but I'm special in some way since I have this little buddy," Eddie said as he tapped his shoulder.
Out of nowhere, Venom appeared, grinning to the camera and licking his fangs. "Hello there, punks, I'm Venom and I'd love to meet you all, especially your lungs, brains and livers. But that's a story for another time. In today's episode, we're going to demonstrate our awesome abilities by eating bad guys."
Eddie glared at the symbiote. "Venom... Really? You can't be that aggressive. We need to be nice and likable so people will watch us."
"Don't worry, we know our role," Venom reminded and his tone softened. "So once again, we are soft Symbiotes, we came from outer space and we're happy we found him," Venom said, pointing his head to Eddie. "He's a dumbass, but we love him."
As Eddie hugged Venom, he said, "He is an asshole, but I love him so much. He can be rude, but he is a great friend."
Venom's head was petted; Eddie earned a low grunt of happiness from the symbiote.
"I hope you'll enjoy our channel and whatever we do here," Eddie added, smiling to the camera.
As Venom licked Eddie's cheek, he added, "We'll prank people in public."
"I don't think this will be possible, V. I have a job, I can't run around and prank people then upload them on the internet," Eddie said, turning off the camera. "Now I just have to edit it and it will be ready to be posted on our YouTube channel."
In response, Venom nuzzled Eddie and added, "Edit it as soon as possible."
Eddie nodded, "I'll deal with this now. I have nothing better to do," he grabbed his camera and walked to his computer.
Venom asked, "Can you give us that delicious cheese you have in the fridge first, punk?"
"I'd appreciate it if you left me something to eat, too," Eddie gave Venom a careful glance.
In order to get his cheese, Venom disconnected from Eddie and crawled to the fridge
The camera was connected to Eddie's computer when he commented, "You look funny, V." As he waited for Venom to return, he began editing the video.
After gliding back to Eddie, Venom climbed onto his back.
Eddie petting Venom's head asked, "Are you happy now? I am almost done."
Venom held a piece of cheese in his paws and chewed it. “Eddie, you edit it? We'd like to see it. And yes, it's fine now. Cheese was tasty."
"Yes. I am done," Brock presented the video to Venom.
Venom's white eyes widened as he exclaimed, "We can upload it! Look, Eddie, we look like a top model. I meant us, not you, but you do look great too. Upload, upload!"
Eddie laughed, "Yes, we do look like Top Model." He quickly uploaded the video. "Let's go eat something now. We will check the reactions tomorrow morning."
____________________________
The next morning Venom awoke as first, although this time he was disconnected from Eddie. He was still nuzzling the man's shoulder. "Eddie, get up, get up. It's morning! We have to check reactions!" Symbiote licked Eddie's cheek as soon as he opened his eyes.
As Eddie sat up and rubbed his eyes, he murmured, "Wait... Wait... Just let me wake up." In a few minutes, Brock got up from bed and opened his laptop, sluggishly turning it on.
"C'mon, punk, we can't wait!"
Eddie yawned and opened the page with their video, then scrolled through the comments at the bottom.
Venom stared at the man, asking, "What, and what, do they think we're ready to start yet?!"
Eddie muttered, "Well... The comments aren't really nice... Read them yourself, V."
As Venom read, he became more enraged. “What a nasty, fucking shits. Can we eat them?!"
"No, Venom, just forget about this idea, and let's stick to the newspaper," Eddie sighed.
"No, no, no. We've got to eat them. We've got to eat those fuckers," Venom claimed, showing his fangs.
"No, Venom. We only eat bad guys, not people who dislike us."
"When they don't like us, that means they're mean. That's what makes them haters. Haters are bad people so we can eat them," Venom concluded after a few longer moments.
Eddie sighed and petted Venom's head as he said, "It's not always like that. Maybe they're right. It's not our thing."
With an angry voice, Venom said, "But we love you and you did a great job, Eddie."
"Let's eat something tasty, shall we?" Brock suggested, trying to get Venom's attention away from YouTube.
"Yes," Venom replied, wrapping his arms around Eddie. "We love you."
Getting up from the chair, Eddie said, "I know, Venom. Let's go to your favorite place and order whatever you want."
Venom grinned widely. "Yes, that's a very clever idea."

While I'm on my hashtag bishop bullshit
The Blurryface paint at the end of the I Am Clancy video is also interesting!! It has been a hot second since Clancy has seen a Bishop, and in this Dema storyline, he seems to only have it in the presence of them. So why is it here, in our first real snapshot of the Look of this era?
Is it because we're going back to red and black and the Blurryface paint looks cool?
Is it because he seized Keons?
Is it because, like how the Banditos wear their FPE Badges proudly, he's owning the fact that he's been smeared before?
I think it's most likely related to the last one. We see in this video that Clancy is owning all the parts of himself. The part of him that lived in Dema. The part of him that got out. The part of him that was made into a weapon. He's taken what he's learned, he's recontextualized some of it ("exception" vs. "weapon"), and he's using it all now. His Trench jacket, the Blurryface paint, the powers he gained during SAI, they're all a part of him.
The cycle is hard. He's gone through a lot. But breaking free from a cycle means taking what you've learned with each attempt and building upon it. And maybe that Blurryface paint symbolizes those failed attempts and what he's learned from them.
Perhaps I'm speaking too soon, but I think that, maybe, this is the time Clancy breaks out.

Hi wife!!(ilysm mwah)(you are so handsome by the by)
Could you inform me bit more about this new TØP album perhaps???
Im genuinely going to explode.
OKAY STRAP IN MOTHER FUCKERS IM ABOUT TO BRAIN DUMP
1) the theme.
So, as always, the boys changed their hair. It happens every era and i love it. Now from some screenshots from the Super Bowl where they where wearing hats, the fan base figured that Josh went red again and Tyler shaved his hair. Now from Josh’s pfp on instagram, we can see that we were right:
Tumblr media
And I’m very happy about it.
Also, people have been calling it the ‘fire era’ or variants of that and I’m digging it icl it sounds AMAZING. The theme is- obviously- mostly red but I’m guessing its red+black. Funny thing is, there’s a few MASSIVE ties to their other album Trench (my favourite, which we will get into) and the trench theme was yellow+black. Yellow (in the lore so far) has always been a sign of the good guys or the banditos if you like to name them, and red has always been the bad guys (Dema, blurry face/nico, the bishops etc). The contrast is FABULOUS.
2) Release date.
So BBC radio 1 has leaked that they will be playing ‘the new hottest record’ from said album on the 29th of February 2024 at 6pm English time. Obviously this means that it will release the same day, being two days away from the making of this post (I am going FERAL.)
3) Details
Sadly I have no details along the lines of album title, song titles, how many songs are on it etc, but I think it’s only going to make the first listen better imo.
4) Trench links
There are a few main links, one of them being in the actual music as Paulmeany, who had a VERY big influence on the sound and contents of trench, posted a mildly cryptic photo on Instagram not too long ago.
Tumblr media
As we can see, the people’s eyes in the photo are covered up with red (tape) which has already been seen in the teasers leading up to release covering the eyes of those on the main album covers. This is an obvious hint that he’s come back to collaborate with TØP for this new album, and also that it may sound as if ‘returning to trench’. This is important for reasons in my next point.
Aside from the tape, the letters, and the social media changes, the big way we found out a new album was on the way was through the Instagram video. This video basically gave us a run down on all of the lore up until now, confirmed that Tyler is Clancy, and also mentions at the very end that Clancy (the main character of the lore) will be ‘returning to trench’. This is said in the last few seconds of the video where he states:
“I am a citizen. I am an escapee. I am an exception. I am returning to trench. I am Clancy.”
This. Is. MASSIVE. I’ll leave the link to the video at the end of the post so you can see why, but mostly it’s that this is likely to lead to a massive showdown/rebellion and a huge turning point in the lore. This could literally go any which way and I- like every other fan- am hyped beyond words. (Get it? The Hype is a song in Trench hehe)
That’s all I have to say at the moment, but as soon as I find out more you already KNOW I’ll be posting about it for days.

gonna get really sappy and DEEPLY tmi/personal about twenty one pilots on main so im gonna put it under a cut. i am cringe but i am free and clancy tour coming up is giving me Feelings
i've been a top fan since 2016. i initially had some resistance to them bc it was when Stressed Out was at its peak and like, yall know how oversaturation goes. even if its good, its fucking annoying by proxy. all the 12/13 year olds at my high school were into it. i was turning 17. and it was a really fucking rough year.
i've been deep into homestuck since i was about 14/15, but by age 16 i had branched out into text-based rp and met a guy from italy who i kind of had a situationship with i guess?? at the time?? idk if that's what the kids call it. (whenever i describe how many relationships ive had, i count this one as a 0.5) anyways. it eventually got to a point where he was emotionally abusing me for a period of about four months. it was brief, but intense, especially since im a fucking lovesick lonely teen at this point who doesnt know any better. he lovebombs me, talks to me and acts like i am his girlfriend, gets jealous and shitty if i talk about other people, but then the moment he goes and does the same shit i get told i'm the reason he was depressed, im the reason for his problems, etc. until he calmed down and placated me and won me over again. over and over, regularly, for four months. it was a lot for my little developing brain to handle.
i know people have had it longer, have had it worse, but it really left a lasting impact. i was left with a litany of abandonment issues, and self-esteem and image that was already bad was buried dead in the fucking ground. i wanted to die every single fucking day for those four months. he even told me, as i began to question my sexuality properly, that i couldnt be bi 'because i liked him'.
but he LOVED twenty one pilots. would quote their shit regularly. wore the merch. all that stuff.
by 2016 i'd managed to see clearly enough and have enough support from friends that i felt comfortable cutting him and his circle off permanently. and it was fucking hard. i didn't have a lot of irl friends at the time and it felt like my only support network. after i finally left, i was desperate to feel some semblance of control, take something back, my own personal little 'fuck you' i could carry in my heart.
with all the hype around them, i gave top a try. slowly eased my way in. i knew i was hooked when i heard Holding On To You for the first time. it made me feel like i could take back that control and find a light at the end of the tunnel.
i consumed everything they had put out after that. i saw them live at emotional roadshow sydney 2017, i was turning 18. i made so many new friends. i felt such hope in my heart. i sobbed so fucking hard when they played HOTY. they weren't the only reason i made it through, itd be naive to contribute everything to them when i've done a lot of work and so have the people around me, but they were like a lifeline to hold on to when things were hard.
i went and saw them again in 2018 for the bandito tour. i made my own outfit and was surrounded by people who had done the same. i made more friends, had more adventures. i was dropping out of high school the year that Trench released due to having the worst mental health i'd had probably since my abuse and felt so lost but it helped me feel a little more stable and grounded. like that light was still there.
a lot has happened since. i'll be 25 when i go see them in November, once again at Qudos Bank Arena in sydney. i'm in a happy relationship with someone i love who respects me. i'm doing things that make me happy. i'm happy. i've felt and experienced and lived and loved and lost and done so so so much since i was a scared 16 year old hearing them for the first time. i've gotten piercings and tattoos, something i never thought i'd do, and put their work permanently on my body. i'm so proud every time i see my tattoo on my arm. i genuinely love and accept myself exactly as i am, which is something i NEVER thought i'd do.
having Clancy come out nine years to the day from blurryface, an album that has been so deeply important to me in a lot of ways, gets me real misty. this entire tour gets me so misty. i didn't think i'd live past 18 at BEST. but i'm here and i'm fucking happy.
genuinely cannot emphasise how much this album and this tour means to me. i plan on getting a Clancy tattoo once the album comes out and i've had some time to sit with it. it feels very full circle, i guess. hearing Next Semester has just had me thinking about this constantly and all weepy all the time haha. but a good weepy.
i cannot fucking wait to scream in a stadium full of people again in a way that heals my heart.

morse code vid & a review of BOOKS in tøp history
so, as everyone knows, ned's cozy fireplace had an ad that used morse code. here is that ad and a visual.
please let me know who to credit as the owner of the screen recording
and because nobody i know has any idea what to make of "BOOKS" -- and they have tried -- here's a look at books as they appear in tøp's body of work. just for the hell of it.
here we go!
2016: the cancer cover.
Tumblr media
in the cancer music video, a person narrates their own impending death from cancer, and it's accompanied by an explosion books bursting out of a bookshelf. these green circles are just highlighting that this music video also included repeat book designs, like ned's cozy fireplace does.
that video and this one are by the same animator and designer, chris schoenman, who presumably didn't want to make like nine million different books. (but there could be more than one reason.)
Tumblr media
the speaker in this song is consuming this media; there's a couple books on his coffee table.
Tumblr media
our speaker is writing their own story with their descriptions and instructions to their family as the video goes on.
Tumblr media
among the this person's collection of stories are some twenty one pilots songs. we'll see this later too.
2016. heathens.
Tumblr media
these drawings on the wall are not books, but they are related to books, as we will see in just a moment. it's reasonable to say these drawings represent something this character feels or thinks about, in some cases over and over.
nico and the niners, 2018.
Tumblr media
next, we have tyler/clancy in nico and the niners packing his backpack. we don't see him physically put this red pamphlet/book in his backpack, but given that the scene starts with a bed covered in stuff, shows him packing, and then shows a bed with nothing on it, we can assume the pamphlet got put in too.
Tumblr media
the backpack is left for the kids to find along with the bandito clothes.
we know from The Outside that the kids keep the bandito clothes and presumably the backpack with its contents, including the red pamphlet/book.
Tumblr media
the leave the city visuals also make a point to show a backpack left behind.
speaking of leave the city visuals:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these visuals fade from trench as a real place to drawings on the bedroom wall in dema.
like heathens, we can assume these drawings depict something that the person who drew them thinks about. because we recognize what's shown, we know they reflect what clancy knows or believes about his world: the figure of the vulture, the neon gravestones, the cage from hoty, the tree from trees and so on.
next:
Tumblr media
2021. the vialism pamphlet, released at the same time as choker. it reads "to live fully is to sacrifice all". this is important because it's the first and only time we know what one of these pieces of media the character is consuming is explicitly telling us.
Tumblr media
the black pamphlet is a visual parallel for what josh is reading in choker.
2021. christmas saves the year.
Tumblr media
we see here that santa also has drawings on his wall. and -- like the speaker in cancer -- is taking in media that includes twenty one pilots stories.
Tumblr media
santa's drawings include things he observes in his world (the snowmen, the noodly skeleton and alien keys) and things he believes -- or at least speculates about (the radiant cosmic rays that defeat the snowmen).
this csty video is actually deep af, and i spent six long weeks making a vid on what i think is happening here if you want to watch it. be gentle. i'm doing my best.
these drawings on the wall are a parallel to the drawings on the wall in other places in that they show things the artist thinks or believes about the world they live in.
Tumblr media
2022. tyler owns at least two books. they're right there.
2023: ned's cozy fireplace.
Tumblr media
lastly, here's some of those same dema-and-trench drawings on the wall in ned's home, looping him firmly into those shared concepts about the neon gravestones, compass E, etc, and a written continuation of The Outside in the form of a letter.
and that's that on that for books in the history of tøp. i think this has absolutely jack to do with why the morse code says BOOKS, but it seemed neglectful not to at least review the topic and see what we can see. what i see: some as-yet-undefined significance in what we take in and how it informs how we understand our world.
fun little fact: the bourbaki group play a foundational role in modern mathematics and it's likely that some of your school textbooks cited bourbaki in the back of the book. so we've all consumed bourbaki book content at some point.

trench began on an overcast july day - i was on my way to work at a summer camp the day the notifications came in. i was so so excited to listen to the new songs. i unfortunately had absolutely zero cell service out in the middle of the woods (shocker). but my friend had a connection to the internet - and twenty one pilots - so we listened to jumpsuit and nico & the niners as many times as possible on our 15 minute break.
later, bandito tour tickets dropped, and i remember asking my parents to buy them for me as i'd be at work at that same summer camp. i was entranced by the singles and couldn't wait to see them on tour again.
when i learned that i got tickets - and lower bowl seats at that - i was ecstatic. october couldn't come fast enough.
fast-forward to the first week of october, 2018, and the leaks happened. i didn't listen to them but i was a little afraid of tyler that day. i thought he was mad at me.
but then the album dropped and i was addicted. my first favorite song off the album was the hype (currently, though, it's natn), and i had a countdown in my school agenda book to the show.
that show was not my favorite for reasons i won't get into here - but i still find myself reaching for that album at least once a week these days, maybe even every day ask we move into autumn. jumpsuit still hits even five years later. the whole tracklist, really.
and even though sometime in 2019 i fell out of my tøp obsession, i still went back to this album from time to time. in trench i'm not alone, right?
and now here we are in 2023, awaiting the next new album cycle. hopefully it'll be just as joyous and magical as trench was, as scaled and icy was, as they all have been. here's to trench.
happy birthday, loser. enjoy kindergarten.

Hey so I had this idea and I'm going to subject you to it. 🫧
So it started when I was thinking about what animals my OCs would be in a hybrid AU and I was like "well Crow's obvious he'd be a crow" but then I stopped and was like (because I love Corvids) "hey Corvids remember faces I want to befriend one someday" and then I was like "hey Corvids remember faces and if you piss one off they will hate you forever" and then I was like hmmmmm....
Anyway Hybrid AU with a different childhood friend Bandito timeline, where Crow Hybrid! Bandito thought Ghost abandoned her to die (he was told she was dead and buried alive ofc he didn't abandon her, but when she escaped she crucially didn't see the news about his 'body' being found) and now she's pissed. Ends up as the 141-Shadow Company liaison thingy and builds up a good friendship with everyone (crows being befriendable). Something something Ghost saving/helping Bandito on a mission and Bandito spends days making some sort of trinket for Ghost (Crows bringing you shinies when you befriend them). Finally finishing this trinket (maybe a wood carving of an animal) and happily going to find Ghost. Finding Ghost outside smoking a cigarette with his mask fully off in his hand.
Ghost turning around to greet Bandito, neither wary about their faces being visible because they've earned each other's trust.
But instead of Bandito seeing Ghost, Nadia sees Simon. And Simon almost collapses, his best friend who he never got closure from - no body to bury or dog tags to keep (although they are tattooed on his arm next to Tommy's name) - is stood right in front of him. And Nadia almost collapses, because that bastard who earned her trust, took it for granted and left her to die, is stood right in front of her with the audacity to try and befriend her again! Doesn't he know that he ripped her heart out the first time he abandoned her?
Obligatory song picks - Reckoner by Radiohead and Gladiator by Jann
I thought this was going to be something silly/fun and happy, only for you to rip my heart out.
It's okay, I loved every second I spent reading this ask.

A’ight, help a baby clikkie out.
what are like. The top 5 essential tøp live performances/things I should see. (can be more than five idc)
combing through YouTube myself is hard, assume I’ve seen nothing but Icy. Gimme homework vids 💛 ERS intro blew my mind yesterday.
ok so this has taken me a while bc im trying to put together something comprehensive but not excessive. there this playlist that someone made that collects a ton of vessel (and a little rab) bts stuff so like tour diaries, interviews, etc. RAB the webseries is on there and RAB the webseries is rly fun if u like cute behind the scenes stuff. It's also the source of the sampled vocal on the hype, where u can hear tyler say "we're gonna rely pretty heavily on technology and energy to cover up for the fact that we're only two people." which i find cool
theres also a few tour recaps from BF era but my personal favorite is sleepers. they also did some for bandito tour.
Admittedly i dont watch a ton of interviews but the halloween one is very popular and gets referenced a lot. i also just rly like old interviews (second one is pre-josh and also has a live performance that i find rly charming)
and of course my whole thing is "guy with the excessively curated live playlists" so heres just a rundown of my favorite shows of theirs on youtube, why i like, why u shd watch (it got long, i italicized the ones i think are the most "important"):
Twenty One Pilots - Friend, Please Live @ The Battle Of The Bands 10-11-09 - as far as i know the only time theyve played it, this is the oldest video of them on youtube. this guys channel is a treasure trove for old videos.
Twenty one pilots- ode to sleep - that time they played in an apple store. total classic, i just chose ode to sleep bc its my favorite
Twenty One Pilots - Ode To Sleep Live @ The Newport Music Hall 5-27-11 - earliest show i have ever found with josh in the band! from that weird period after the og drummer left but the bassist was still there.
DRUM BATTLE: Twenty One Pilots - Groove Street Fest 2011 - 9.24.2011 - honestly i just have a personal fondness for this video. the idea that wd become the drum island, the guy in orange going ham, tyler drumming, them doing their own gear, its all very small band charming.
UG Studios session "Addict With A Pen" by Twenty One Pilots - in a word: iconic. a ridiculously emotional performance
Skeleton Bones Remain (Gunshot Intro) - twenty | one | pilots - literally just a 20 second intro but it is absolutely legendary. the british voice is named nigel he used to show up more, rip nigel (actually found a video of the intro going into OTS)
twenty one pilots: Heathens & Stressed Out (Live AMA Awards Performance 2016) - when they came out in those full face masks? iconic. twitter was blowing up, it was awesome.
twenty one pilots - Firefly Music Festival 2017 (Full Show) 1080p HD - this particular set is nothing special but its a festival set so its an hq multicam recording of a full set from blurryface era. it's got drumline josh, its got the crowdstand, its got the hamster ball, im pretty sure it has josh vs josh drum battle, all ur rly missing is the iconic (and dearly missed) old song medley, with the coolest B-stage design theyve ever had (yes cooler than bandito fight meeee)
Twenty One Pilots: Live at Lollapalooza Chicago 2019 (Full Show) - festival set for the hits but its trench now! bandito tour b-stage is also an essential tho. first leg they had the skybridge after that they walked thru the crowd.
My favorite shows that dont exist in one video are: vessel release show at basement. they played the whole record, secret show, very cool. and all of tour de columbus, which was when after BF they did a takeover tour style thing but just in columbus. I saw 2 of those and its my biggest flex to this day.
besides shows I wd also check out the MUTEMATH sessions (which i was blessed enough to see some of live! so badass!), this session where he did alt versions of some trench tunes (fought for my life to win tix. i did not win), also the video for the hype berlin is rly cute.
this got kinda lengthy with all the shows, i just love so many of them. I'd also seek out their snl performances if u feel like it, iirc they did ride, stressed out, and heathens, tyler did just the |-/ instead of the full paint on his hands it was sweet.
and to anyone else seeing this PLEASE add if theres anything u think i missed, any random events u remember that were cool, etc. most of what i remember is annoying twitter drama bc i was a teenager for BF

I know many of us have been questioning and theorizing who Clancy is. Recently a clique member on the TOP reddit has given a whole new perspective on who(or what) Clancy may be.
(THIS IS NOT MY THEORY. WHAT IS SHOWN BELOW IS THE TEXT PROVIDED IN THE REDDIT POST I LINKED ABOVE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T WANT TO USE THE LINK. Everything in the post is copied below):
Maybe Clancy isn't a Who, but a what?
Okay, So I just wanted to get this out there because I feel like some new lore is gonna drop here soon in the next few months.
So, everyone is always talking about how Tyler is playing Clancy, and until SAI I disagreed. I felt that in Trench that Josh played the Role of Clancy.
The Clancy letters talk about how Clancy's bishop is Keons, and describes Keons as being kind. Later on, Clancy talks about the scene in Jumpsuit where Nico arrives and hunts down Tyler, but his POV isn't told from Tyler's point of view. It is told from someone watching the interaction happen, he even makes a note to mention that he has never encountered or seen a bishop that aggressive before. but in the MV there is one specific bandito standing over watching this interaction, Josh. Now, to be fair, in the Clancy letters, immediately after seeing the interaction with Tyler and Nico, he talks about discovering the existence of Banditos and being surprised that there were others out in the wilderness. But after all "This is a story about Cycles" it could simply be that when Clancy wrote that letter, he had not yet become a bandito.
I think, that at this time, Clancy was Josh. but I think as the cycle continued, and Tyler escaped Dema time and time again and spent time with the Banditos in between that time and Clancy would become friends. But what if after a while, they devised a plan to switch places, then having Tyler play the role of Clancy?
Later in Trench, there is the song Morph. Lyrics such as "I'll Morph into someone else" and "Defense Mechanism Mode." This is a very lore heavy song referencing Nico directly. It also talks about kind of strategizing on what to do "I am surrounded..... There's no 'above, ' or 'under, ' or 'around' it.... If I keep moving, they won't know...I'll morph to someone else " and you could argue that even ending the Song with a "Josh Dun" could imply that he is either Morphing into Josh, or that Clancy's new name that he has morphed into is Josh.
During the Sai Era, everyone was tipped off that the bishops had creative control over the band due to the changing in positions in the promo pictures. For those who don't know, or need a refresher, Tyler is traditionally on the Right and Josh is traditionally on the left. That is the way it has been since the Vessel Era for all album promos. Maybe the switch wasn't to convey simply that something was wrong, but that as far as the bishops knew, they were in their right spots, with Clancy on the left and Tyler on the right. Would the bishops know them by name? This switch could be further confirmed by when Tyler dyed his hair pink. In the past that was always something Josh did. Red for Blurryface, yellow for trench and a few colors in between.
Then another Clancy letter would be released. In this letter the events of the Outside MV and the SAI Livestreamed were discussed and the very real change of POVs take place. It is unmistakably told from Tyler's perspective as he speaks about writing the livestream and performing it. He goes on to talk about arriving to the island of Voldsoy and in this, he clearly references Josh as the "Torchbearer". But why is this the first time he is referenced? He was there in Dema during Nico and the Niners MV, he was there in Levitate MV after the rescue. In the following Clancy letter he mentions that the Torchbearer has a plan, is this the same plan discussed in Morph?
Is Clancy not so much of a person, but a name passed between two Bandito's trying to end the Cycle of Dema and the Bishops who reign?

Short Story:
The Outlaw's Advocate: A Tale of Love, Romance and Redemption.
Curly Bill and a few other cowboys are accused of assaulting a shop keeper. Not only are they innocent, the reader defends and exonerates the Cowboys.
Read About Their Amazing Adventure
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The tension between the Cowboys and the Earps falls over Tombstone like a dark cloud of uncertainty. The Earps came to Tombstone for the same reason the Cowboys did; to get rich and they had no intention or interest in becoming law enforcement officers again. For them, it wasn't their job anymore until Wyatt decided to break into politics. If he could win as US Marshall, his next step could be a mayor and then he would only climb the strategic ladder to higher aspirations. But then the Cowboys with their partying and desire to have an unbridled good time began causing trouble in Tombstone and that threatened the Earps business and political goals. Wyatt and his brothers knew they would need to swear themselves in once again and wear the badge that gave them the authority to arrest anyone they wanted to. And with the Cowboys becoming more of a threat to the Earps, Wyatt decided to run for US Marshall. Then his power and authority could be unlimited and he would have the ability to exercise marshal law and deputize anyone he pleased, including Doc Holliday.
During an evening of drinking, gambling and visiting the houses of ill repute, the Cowboys find themselves in real trouble. Although they're known for their wild behavior and firing their pistols in the air while riding up and down Allen Street, on this evening, the Cowboy crew were spending their ill-gotten gains on whiskey and women and placed themselves out of sight of the nosey and self righteous Earp brothers.
The commotion begins with a robbery at the general store. Four masked and well armed men held the cashier at gunpoint and ordered him to empty the register. The frightened clerk took whatever money he could find and with shaking hands, gave it to the bandits. Then the bandits instructed the shop keeper to strip naked. The clerk quickly acquiesces, mumbling a prayer to himself. Once undressed, he holds his hands up and begs for the thieves to leave. One of the strangers takes a bite out of a large apple and then places the remaining part of the fruit on the steady head of the cashier who remained still, his hands up.
"Now, stay real still!" The bandit leader demands. "And you won't get hurt."
The general store worker continues praying to himself and closes his eyes while the gang leader shoots the apple right off the poor man's head. When the merchant opens his eyes, he sees the banditos mounting their horses and heading out of town.
Curly Bill and a few others look up from their whiskey shots and wonder what the commotion is about. You work as a waitress in the restaurant they're enjoying their food and drinks and you glance over at the red sash gang and Curly looks back at you. He winks and tips his hat. Curly Bill has had a major crush on you since he first saw you and enjoys his meals at this restaurant just to see you everyday. You always greet him and the others with a warm smile and you show attentiveness to them by ensuring they have plenty of warm bread and that their glasses are always full of whatever booze they're sipping.
On this particular evening, the loud gunfire doesn't shake your routine or that of any of the patrons enjoying their meals. These types of disturbances are regular occurrences in the town too tough to die.
Curly watches you work and is diligent about ensuring your safety. He usually waits for your shift to end and then as always, offers to take you home. Although you stay at the hotel at a reduced rate as a condition of your employment as a waitress, the old cowboy can't resist making you feel safe. And since anything can happen in Tombstone, Curly is delighted to be the man that ensures your safety. Although many eligible men made plays to court you, no one makes a bigger fool of themselves than old Curly. His fellow red sash gang members chuckle while they watch the rustler try to impress you by laying on the charm. On some days, you barely say a word and Curly Bill understands women can have their moody days, but he continues to do things to get your attention. And although you could choose any man you want, you do enjoy the big cowboy. Curly Bill is loud and is usually laughing or drinking or playing practical jokes or telling stories. But he's got a charm that seems different; as big and strong as he is, he seems gentle, almost tame when he's around you. Since he first saw you, he's changed a few habits; he bathes more regularly, has his clothes laundered often so they don't smell like horses and he goes to the barber weekly for a trim of his mustache and his unruly dark hair. He's convinced himself he can charm you and allow him to court you, but with each goodnight that comes without a kiss from you, causes the cowboy to double down and try even harder by having every meal at the restaurant and coming in in between for pie and coffee just so he can be in the same place as you. Curly has even invited you to join him for coffee and when you return to work, he takes your coffee cup and sips from it, knowing your luscious lips had touched it. The brazen cowboy has fallen in love and is completely unprepared and pleasantly surprised when you come to his defense when he's accused of robbing the general store.
"Thank you for walking me home, Curly Bill!"
Curly removes his hat, holds it against his chest and takes a bow. You walk close to him and kiss him on the cheek. Curly is so surprised by your sudden burst of affection, he sheepishly chuckles. He desperately wants to take you in his arms and devour you, but simply watches you once again enter the hotel.
Curly Bill stands in front of the hotel for a few minutes before turning to leave and when he does, he sees Wyatt and Virgil Earp marching towards him. Curly Bill grins and holds his hands up in a manner suggesting a surrender.
"I always walk her home, Wyatt." Curly begins.
"Nevermind that! You're under arrest, Curly! Eyewitnesses place you and a few of your cowboys robbing the mercantile!"
Curly Bill rages, "I haven't done anything such thing! I wasn't even nowhere near there! You got the wrong man, Earp!" Curly bellows.
"We already arrested the Clanton brothers and Stillwell. The merchant told us a few cowboys came in earlier this evening, robbed the till and forced him to strip naked! Sounds just like you, Brocious!"
Curly Bill throws his hands up. "I swear, Wyatt! I was at the restaurant. I ain't had no beef with that old merchant!"
"What about the Clanton's and Stillwell?"
"They were with me having dinner at the restaurant! Ask YN! We was there!"
Curly Bill feared for a moment that you may cooperate with the Earps out of fear or that they may do to you what they did to Big Nose Kate when they got her drunk and angry enough to finger Rattlesnake Charlie for a robbery he never committed. Wyatt had an issue with Rattlesnake and since he couldn't nail him for his other crimes due to a lack of cooperation by witnessness, he was able to get a drunken Kate to sign a sworn affidavit.
Please don't let that happen!
"We're not bothering YN this late! Let's go, Brocious!"
"Where are you taking me?" Curly demands.
"We'll talk to YN tomorrow. For now, you'll be spending the night in jail with your friends!"
"Son of a bitch!" Curly Bill growls while the brothers take a hold of him. They put Curly in the same cell as Billy and Ike Clanton and Frank Stillwell.
"You boys ain't going anywhere now!"
Curly grabs the prison bars. "You got this all wrong! We didn't do nothin' to that old shop keep. You're gonna be lookin' mighty foolish when YN tells you we wasn't any where near the general store!"
"Oh, we'll see about that!" Wyatt snaps. "I got Big Nose Kate to sign a sworn affidavit and I can do the same thing with YN. I'll let her know all about your treeing days, Curly! How you made a preacher dance a jig or how you forced party goers to strip naked and dance for your amusement. Shouldn't she know that? And when I tell her about that and after she's had some whiskey, there won't be any problem...And this is a hanging offense!"
Curly Bill shook the bars of the cell and then kicked the small table over.
"I don't think she'll be impressed when I tell her about your past. You're a thief, a rustler and a killer!"
"You son of a bitch! You ain't gettin' away with this!"
"When your cowboys see you four swing, they'll leave town! Slowly or quickly. But either way, anything I can do to get rid of your kind, I'll do it! Besides, you've been making a fool of yourself over YN for weeks and she's still not letting you court her!"
Curly became infuriated with humiliation. That was the proof that the men of Tombstone knew about how Curly Bill feels about you. And the envious men of the town would be all too eager to warn you about the gunslinging cattle rustler. Curly takes his hat off and throws it and then runs his filthy hand through his dark hair.
"Have a nice evening, boys," Wyatt groans and leaves the three in the cell.
"What the hell, Curly?" Ike whines. "That damn merchant blamin' us for that when we wasn't even there!"
"YN will tell Earp that we was there," Billy says. "She's always been real nice. I ain't that worried!"
Curly could excuse Ike's whining, but he felt Billy was dreaming if he thought YN wasn't going to be seriously intimidated by the Earp brothers. Everyone feared them.
"What the hell happened?" Stillwell asks, not looking up.
"She ain't gonna finger us, boss!" Billy Clanton "She's real sweet."
"It ain't YN, damnit!" Curly howls. "You don't know what them Earps will do to her. They did the same damn to Holiday's woman, remember? Got her good and drunk and hell, she was so damn drunk, Wyatt had to hold the pen in her hand! You don't think he's gonna scare YN into doin' the same? She's a real lady and ain't saavy like Kate and iffin' they could do that with Big Nose, they can with anybody!"
"You really think YN would sell us out?" Billy begs.
"No! I think them Earps would do whatever it takes to get her to say we done it and iffin' she has a drink with them, they'll just keep ordering more drinks and she won't remember my name!" Curly Bill sits on the makeshift bed, his head in his hands. Eventually, exhaustion overtook the rustlers and they fell asleep.
The morning clouds soaked up the sunlight and the town seemed gray and dismal. Son of a Gun Sam opens the door to the sheriff's office and serves the prisoners their meager breakfast. Curly Bill, Stillwell and the Clanton's munch on the chuck that's at least free of maggots.
Later that afternoon, Wyatt goes to the hotel in the hopes of talking with you. But more important, turn you against Curly and his red sash Cowboys. Wyatt is certain that if he's able to turn Kate Elder, he could get any woman to turn against any man. And Wyatt usually won...And that is something that scares old Curly.
The steely gray clouds fall lazily over Tombstone and a mild drizzle begins to sprinkle onto the townsfolk who are moving in between stores.
Wyatt strolls to the restaurant where you're serving and he asks for a table in your station. When your eyes meet, you head to the kitchen. When you return, you bring Wyatt a menu.
"Let me buy you a drink, YN," Wyatt begins. "I've got a feeling that you need to get something off your chest. I understand. You don't need to be scared of Curly Bill."
"Why would I be scared of Curly Bill?" You respond innocently.
Wyatt looks at you and wonders if you've been manipulated by the Cowboys or if you're just as sweet as you look.
"Don't you know who he is? He's King of the Cowboys!" Wyatt takes your arm, but to his surprise, you pull away.
"Curly has been nothing short of a gentleman," you plead. "He looks out for me. He walks me back to the hotel so I get home safe. Curly Bill has never been anything but a wonderful gentleman! You just don't know him!"
"Whiskey for her and just a beer for me," Wyatt motions for the other server.
"I'm not drinking. I'm at work." You answer.
"Just one shot. Relax. I'm not here as an enemy. Consider me a trusted confidant. I just think you should know a little more about him. So you know he was arrested for a stage coach robbery in Galleyville?"
"There's lots of types around here. The war did crazy things to people."
"YN, he's been implicated in a crime and he and his friends are going before the Judge, you understand? They held up a shop keeper last night and forced the poor fellow to strip completely naked and then they took turns firing at his head. And Curly Bill has been known to do things like that. Have you ever heard about his treeing days back in Dodge? Harassed innocent people and forced a preacher to dance a jig while Curly Bill's boys fired shots at the poor fellow. Then he took his boys to a wedding and forced every guest to strip naked and dance for him. That's who's walking you home every night!"
"I already told you!" The server brings your drinks and Wyatt pushes the shot glass towards you. You glance at it and then push it away from you. "Curly Bill is funny and he's got a big personality. I like him."
"He was arrested last night! Do you understand?"
"Of course." You answer.
"Have some whisky. It will help relax you."
*I'm working!" You scowl.
"Jack doesn't care if you have a few drinks while working!" Wyatt responds.
"You say the store was robbed last night?"
"That's right. Probably just after Curly walked you back to the hotel. You must have heard the shots!"
Suddenly you recall the commotion from the previous evening. "Oh wait! Yes! I did hear that!"
"Well, see? There we have it. A confession! So you did hear it!"
"Well, here they come now!" Wyatt announces. You are Virgil and Morgan Earp along with Yankee Jim and they're pushing Curly Bill, Stillwell and the Clanton brothers forward..
"Move it, boys!" Yankee Jim demands.
Curly Bill and the other cowboys have their hands tied while waiting for you to verify their whereabouts. Wyatt tells his brothers to keep a close eye on the rustlers and that he was going to try one last time to get you drunk and angry.
"Wait! What are you doing?" You demand.
"Obtaining the confession I needed. Just have a drink and calm down. You're just upset."
"I don't want a drink, Wyatt!" You grumble.
"Let's talk," Wyatt whispers. "Let's just start over. Come sit and have your drink and I'll fill you in on everything you need to know about that worthless cowboy."
"He's not worthless!" You howl.
"Please calm down, you're being hysterical, YN. This is why you need a drink. Here. Take it."
Morgan and Virgil wait outside with the four cowboys and are positioned so you can't completely see them.
"Wyatt! You got the wrong men! Curly was at the restaurant last night."
"Well, before he got there or after he walked you home, he and his boys had plenty of opportunity to carry this out!"
Morgan and Virgil pushed the cowboys into the restaurant.
"Why are they tied up like that?" You fire at the deputies.
"They forced that poor merchant to strip naked, then they placed an apple on his head and took turns firing at him! And that's the man you wish to court you?"
"What?" At that moment you realize it was more than Curly just trying to protect you, he has genuine feelings for you because he desires a relationship with you. A flood of emotions wash over you at that moment and you know in your heart what Wyatt is saying cannot be true.
"We were here, YN!" Billy Clanton shouts. "Tell them we were here!"
"Shut up, Billy!" Ike whines.
You stand in complete confusion. Could it be that before Curly came, he treed the poor fellow or after he walked you home? But then you remember the gunshots and how you and Curly both heard the commotion and thought nothing of it.
"No!" You begin. "It couldn't have been them!" Your face turns from fear and confusion to clarify and certainty.
"The merchant already said it was them!" Morgan interjects.
"What time did this occur?" You inquire.
"That doesn't make any difference! There's an eyewitness account! It was them!" Wyatt groans.
"No, it wasn't and it couldn't have been! I know what I heard!" You're beautiful in your anger and Curly Bill watches in awe as you defend him when you could have allowed yourself to be manipulated by the law man. Most people would have cowered by now. Curly Bill knows the Earps are trying to break you down. But you seem to rise above it and hold steadfast to your conviction.
"YN," Morgan starts. "We're ready to go before Spicer. The merchant is there, waiting to give his testimony. And when he fingers these boys, we don't have a choice. It's a hanging offense."
Your heart drops. "Fine! I'll go and testify to what I heard and saw!"
Curly Bill is too moved to say anything. He's delighted that you're willing to testify on their behalf as it could result in serious consequences for you; you may lose your job for siding with the Cowboys or citizens may force you out of town after they hang the cowboys. Curly fears it may take more than your testimony to save them.
"We were denied a lawyer!" Curly demands. And at that moment, Virgil slaps the big rustler.
"Stop it!" You scream, moving towards Curly. Wyatt intercedes and grabs your arms.
"Let's go! Spicer is waiting.
You all walk to the courthouse, citizens of Tombstone looking at the four cowboys marching to the courthouse. Curly Bill feels a strong sense of guilt that the townsfolk are watching you walk along as if you're one of them. He lowers his head and fights back tears.
At the courthouse, the merchant stands and points his finger at Curly.
"That's them! Those were the men! They had masks, but I know! I know it was those damn cowboys!"
Wyatt looks at you with a satisfied grin. "See? I told you!"
You turn to face the shop keeper. "What time did this occur?"
"Just around 8 o'clock. I was getting ready to stoco some new items and them four boys come in a d robbed me before they rode off!"
"8 o'clock? Are you sure?"
"Sure as anything!" He answers. "A feller don't forget that!"
"Wyatt, Curly Bill and the others here were at the restaurant at 8. I know because I was working! We heard the gunfire but thought nothing of it. You got the wrong men!"
Wyatt turned to the old man.."You said it was Brocious! You told us that!"
"Well, I wasn't sure iffin' it was them or not. They had masks on their faces."
"What's going on here?" Judge Spicer demands. "Do you have any proof it was these men here?"
"You said it was the cowboys!" Wyatt shouts.
"Do you have anything? Besides his testimony?"
"Yes!" You announce. "I'm a witness and I heard the shots and Curly Bill, Ike, Billy and Frank were having dinner. It couldn't have been them! You got the wrong men, Wyatt!" At this point, Wyatt sees his futile attempts at breaking you down have failed and Curly Bill looks over at his cowboys and they share a smile. Without you and your intervention, they'd be waiting to be hanged.
"And you'll swear to that?" Spicer asks.
"Yes. I will."
"You're going up against the Earps, YN. You know this can become more complicated because of their eyewitness."
"But I'm an eyewitness too!"
"It could have occurred earlier or later. Perhaps gunshots from after you were home or before. Sometimes the sounds of the town drown that out. You do understand they have a strong case."
"I understand they have no case!"
Spicer leans back in his chair and strokes his beard. "You understand the risk you're taking defending these boys?" The old judge asks.
You nod and Curly Bill and the others look at the ground and feel they are unworthy receivers of your compassion and intervention. The Cowboys don't have anyone in their corner and no one has ever spoken up for them. When in these situations, people don't come forward to defend the cowboys. They're looking for reasons to blame them for something to get rid of them. And these Cowboys are more than familiar with that truth. But now to have a beautiful woman like yourself come to their defense and be willing to stand before a judge and go up against the Earps all by yourself fills them with inexplicable pride, relief and gratitude.
"I understand the risk in not defending them! It's completely wrong to put the blame on them when I already told you where they were!"
Wyatt moves closer to you, knowing it bothers Curly Bill, whose hands are tied.
"And we have an eyewitness!"
"An eyewitness who already said that the event occurred at 8 o'clock! And at 8 o'clock, they were having dinner in the restaurant I work at."
"It was crowded, they could have left and returned!" Wyatt suggests.
You shake your head. "No! They were there the entire time and we heard the gunfire! We were all in the same place so your accusations are unfounded!" You brush the hair away from your face and stand like a warrior after a victory. Your lips fiery red and your face gorgeous in the light.
"There doesn't seem to be enough evidence here to charge these boys," Judge Spicer declares, leaning forward.
"Well! Maybe the shop keeper got the time wrong," Morgan suggests.
You look at Curly Bill and roll your eyes and sigh, looking like a defiant little girl, your arms folded. Curly Bill chuckles to himself and can't hold back his smile. You're brilliant in your defense of the Cowboys and Curly Bill is never going to forget this moment and neither will his entire red sash gang. It will be a story they will tell over and over. How they were a few days away from swinging by their necks to having a gorgeous woman rush to their rescue and so eloquently put Wyatt Earp and his brothers in their place and made fools out of them all within a few moments!
"Can't you at least untie their hands?" You beg, your head to the ground.
"Once we're done here," Morgan answers.
Judge Spicer leans back. "Oh we're done here and I'd like you to not waste my time again, Wyatt."
'Untie them!" You hollar. You take the knife from Curly's belt and untie his hands for him. He looks down at you, his smile so bright, it lights up the room. He wishes he could cup your face and kiss you.
Then you cut the ropes for the others.
As you move towards the door, Curly Bill puts his arm around you, his smile never leaving his face. Ike and the others take their hats off and show their gratitude by taking short bows. You can't help but laugh out loud and then the five of you enjoy a short laugh together.
"Three cheers for YN!" Curly howls.
A few other cowboys including Ringo come walking towards them.
"What happened? Breckenridge said you were as good as hung!" Ringo shouts.
"Well we were until this lovely lady came along and put them old Earps in their place! You shoulda seen it, boys!" Curly declares, his arm around you.
"Yeah!" Ike adds.."She was something else! She was sayin' all kinds of stuff every time Wyatt said anything!" Ike claps his hands together and poses the way you did, your arms folded with your head held high. "She was lookin' just like that and then the judge said we was done! Now we ain't hanging, boys!"
Your eyes meet Curly's and the two of you stand, facing each other. You're both so overwhelmed, you fall into a sweet kiss. The Cowboys take their hats off, hoot and then throw their hats on the air, causing a small crowd of onlookers to gather, shaking their heads in wonder. You're well known around Tombstone and are the most popular waitress. A smile always decorates your lovely face, you never admonish or talk down to anyone and your friendliness clearly extends to everyone. In short, your popularity gives the Cowboys a serious edge in the community and their gratitude couldn't be greater.
"We got ourselves a new member of our family here and it's YN! When she could have just left us to fend for ourselves, she went all the way to the courthouse with us!" Curly Bill explains. 'Whaddya say, YN? Us old cowboys sure do like havin' you around and you're one of us now! Anythin' you need, all you gotta do is ask! We ain't never gonna forget this and how you saved us boys! Iffin' it weren't for you, we'd be waiting for a hangin' and then they'd find somethin' on all you boys! And we're gonna be just fine now all because of YN!"
"Oh, Curly Bill!" you shout, covering your mouth with your hands.
You're so moved yourself, you jump into Curly's arms and he growls while holding you close. The two of you hold each other for a moment.
"I never thought you'd kiss me, YN," Curly Bill whispers. You lay your head on his chest. You rub your nose against Curly's and he chuckles, while flicking his tongue. He kisses your forehead and cannot believe you are there with him. Curly cannot remember a time when he felt more overwhelmed.
"Hey! Let's celebrate!" Pony Diel shouts. "Let's go to the restaurant! You ain't working today, right?" The older cowboy looks at you.
"She ain't working today if I have anything to say about it!" Curly shouts. "My girl has the day off!" At that, you jump back into Curly's arms and his cowboys cheer again. You can't stop hugging your cowboy. You hold him so tight for so long, he tickles you to get you to let go. You beam up at him and kiss his chin. Curly can't believe how smitten you seem to be. He shakes his head and flashes his big white teeth, unable to stop grinning. "You're something else, you know that?" Curly asks, rubbing your back.
"Is that alright with you?" Curly asks, holding your chin with his hand.
"I would love the day off!" You shout, laughing.
Curly chuckles. "No, about being my girl? This old cowboy would really like that!"
"I thought you'd never ask!" You gaze deep into his laughing eyes.
Ringo looks over and smiles. He shakes Curly's hand and tips his hat to you. "I wish I had been there, YN. Sounds like you had them dead to rights. I would have loved to see that." Ringo takes his hat off and looks into your eyes, savoring your beauty and feeling elated for Curly. Most of the ladies ignored Curly and devoted their attention to Ringo, a gentleman, Shakespearean quoting gunfighter. But this time, Curly Bill got the girl and although Ringo can't help but be somewhat envious, he couldn't be happier for old Curly.
"Well, I couldn't let those Earp brothers do that to you or anyone of you. It seems like they're always looking to blame you boys for everything. I had to make a stand!"
"That's very brave of you." Ringo responds, his face looking down.
You shrug . "I'm not afraid of them."
Ringo quickly looks up. "You're probably the only person around here who isn't," Ringo says, admiring your spirit. He knows that most people, especially a woman would cower to the Earp brothers. They could intimidate the toughest of men and Ringo knew that Wyatt Earp could give Bloody Bill Anderson a run for his money. And here you are, a gorgeous and strong woman, willing to stand before Spicer, a hard nosed judge with a propensity for hanging trouble makers. Ringo tries to imagine what you must have looked like; he recalls how Ike Clanton imitated your stance, but to actually see you like that has Ringo's imagination going wild.
"Old Curly's never gonna stop talking about this, YN. Clearly he's really impressed with you. And not just because you're generous and sweet; you're absolutely beautiful and strong too. I guess the kind of woman we all want."
You feel a sense of sadness for Ringo at first. Then he straightens up and continues talking. "But I'm happy for Curly. Women don't usually pay him any mind. Not that he isn't a good catch. He's always been a really good friend."
"I can't help but really like Curly Bill," you answer. "He's so funny and always looks out for me. And I think he's really cute," you continue, your voice falling into a whisper.
Ringo grins. No one ever accused Curly Bill Brocious of being cute and he has never been described as handsome. Sometimes Ringo felt a tad guilty when women would swoon over him and ignore Curly, even when he had money. So Curly is over the moon having one of the most beautiful women in Tombstone letting the old cowboy court her.
"I'm glad you feel that way. He's lucky he's got you. He'll be telling me everyday. Curly Bill will enjoy watching other men look at him with envy when he's walking through town with you." Ringo smiles.
"That's so sweet, Johnny!" Your gratitude dances in your eyes and Ringo absent mindedly strokes your face.
"He doesn't need to tell me how lucky he is."
At that moment, Curly walks over to where you are. "How's my girl?" Curly Bill asks, beams. "Damn, I can't believe I'm sayin' that! I ain't never gonna tired of callin' you that!" Curly Bill strokes your face and brushes your hair behind your ear and then kisses your forehead. His heart pounds with excitement and sensuality. He wants to kiss you again, but exercises some self control as he doesn't want his gang of rowdy cowboys to scare you or make you feel uncomfortable. In fact, he would rather just have a quiet dinner with just the two of you. But he would enjoy celebrating with his friends as long as they behave themselves which can be a problem. Especially in the presence of a lovely lady like yourself. They seem to line up just to get a chance to tip their hats to you or be close enough to smell your perfume. Being near a beautiful woman would make any man feel special, especially for these boys who never receive attention from women unless they're paying well.
Ike and Billy Clanton were still talking about the showdown at the courthouse.
"Yeah, and then YN told them Earps that she was goin' to testify for us and then she marched right over to the courthouse and she weren't even afraid of old Spicer or them brothers!" Ike exclaims to some of the other cowboys.
"She really said that?" Johnny Barnes asks, leaning forward.
"Yep," Billy interjects. "She was somethin' else! I ain't never seen anyone talk to them Earps that way!"
"Hey boss!" Ike Clanton shouts toward Curly Bill. "Let's take YN to camp and we can have a party there! Then she can stay with you, Curly!"
Curly Bill looks down at you. He can't imagine a beautiful woman like yourself enjoying the cowboys' nightly shindig. They get drunk and loud and play music, but now they've got a beauty to dance with. If Curly Bill would let anyone close enough to touch you.
"Well, I don't think YN wants to party with a bunch of smelly cowboys!" Curly howls, his arm around your waist.
"We ain't gonna bother her none!" Billy Clanton mumbles.
"After what my girl done today, I'd rather just stay in town. And the hotel is still serving dinner so I'm takin' her there! And they're gonna give us the best damn table in the place!" He looks at you again, his hand never leaving your waist.
"Iffin' that's alright by you, YN!"
You lay your head on Curly's shoulder and he feels mighty special and important.
"I just want to be with you, Curly Bill!" You look up at him and your eyes light up the night.
"Well that settles it, boys! And after what YN did today for us old cowboys, she's gettin' whatever she wants and well, she wants me!"
At that moment, you kiss the big rustler on the cheek and he chuckles. The Cowboys watch while Curly Bill escorts you to the hotel and hopes you'll invite him to spend the night with you.

ohh okay i love trench stuff i love lore stuff so tell me. Do u have any very specific headcanons u would wanna share on trench or dema. Whether that be the characters or the actual world im curious
since we're loreposting today let me roll up my sleeves and answer this lol
- Thoughts on the Inhabitants
It's said in Clancy's letters that the bishops mandated Vialism as a belief system, and the way he speaks of it implies he remembers it happening, or at least it was shortly established within his lifetime.
I think that one round of population control was enough for many of the inhabitants of Dema, especially those who knew nothing beyond the walls of their city. Many of them likely didn't need overt re-education, and just passively absorbed obedience through the constant buzzing hum of propaganda being plied into their minds. It's in the water. It's in their blood.
Tyler describes his waves of emotions, negative and positive, as seasons, and the way the albums currently established to exist in demaverse follow along this theme to me; Trench feels like the desolation and stillness of winter, and SAI feels like it exists in a perpetual summer.
However, the significance of this to me is that though Trench is cold and hostile, it's real. The chill on your skin is something you can really feel. Whereas SAI, and by extension Daytime Dema, feels like the commercialism of the perfect summer, the type you see in advertisements on TV; Ones of people dancing and smiling and surrounded by warm colours and pastels. But it's all plastered artifice upon a cold concrete structure.
We've seen both sides; First we saw the cold reality of both Trench and the city, Dema, itself. But the difference is that within Dema, there's this sense of coating this reality with a saccharine overtone.
The inhabitants who are allowed to live within the outer regions of the city itself get to experience "normal" things. They can go to bars and clubs, Clancy speaks of reading about descriptions of a "home" in books which leads him to his awakening, and they are seen to be living in comfortable homes.
However, the only time we saw this depicted was in the livestream, which is clearly shown to be a set. And even moreso, it exists within Tyler's mind as he dissociates during an uncomfortable interview with Sally and Dan... Whether or not this is the actual reality of what living in dema is like, we can't actually know for sure until we see more in the new era.
However, if we look at the previous depictions of dema, such as the VR bandito experience... The city is harsher and colder. If we rewatch Nico and the Niners, the place Tyler is held is dilapidated and brutalist.
Whether or not the world depicted in the livestream is real or not is up for debate but, operating on the idea that it IS real...
The inhabitants likely don't much realise they are being limited. They believe they have a certain amount of free will, despite the fact that propaganda meets them at every waking moment; That they are kept obedient in their comfortable lives... A happy populace has no reason to rebel or escape. Smart dictators know this.
Still though, once a person brushes up against those limits and meets the walls of resistance, they start to realise how small their allotted circle of "acceptable" existence is. They either return to the comfortable centre and keep navigating their known... Or they push up against it, and attempt to break those walls.
Which is what all of us should be doing.

how the icy tour connects to the lore~ a ted talk by me (i mean i explain it i think but it makes most sense if youve seen it live but whee)
so we have the Outside music video. Tyler and Josh are on Voldsoy, looking at all the other Banditos on Trench. It’s already been implied it’s winter there (snow, general Coldness) so it’s probably snowing hard while they’re making their way to Trench/mainland. While they’re walking they see this blue door that hovers in front of them and then floats overhead. They go through it and enter on stage.
The blue door, in the Clancy letters, is the room where he was forced to write SAI/livestream/record the livestream, also known as The Show. aka, the blue door is Dema basically.
So they go through the door and find themselves on stage for a show. They start playing Good Day but then the Bishops interrupt with No Chances to show their power. Blurryface also comes on the screen singing Fairly Local (which, the Fairly Local MV was the first time we saw him. The MV is also all cold and icy.)  Which is why Tyler does the whole Message Man thing because it’s the Bishops’ show. Then at one part he falls off stage and a second part of the video starts, with them in the snow again (in Trench) looking at the blue door. They go through again.
(I dont remember what song they play when they come back adhahdsah)
ANYWAY Trees starts. On the screen the video is *rewinding* everything/all the other videos they had on there during the show. The whole thing with the Ned plush? On the site it has the phrase ‘ned will show us the way’. Never heard that before, obviously. During Trees this tour there’s Ned *confetti* .after Trees when they bow and all that it’s playing Good Day instrumental in the background because ned rewound the entire show back to the start freeing them from the Bishops. They go back through the trapdoor into Trench to continue on to the rest of the Banditos because Ned freed them/showed them the way.
I call it now tho that after the tour we’re going to get a Clancy letter tho cause like ive gotta be right it makes farrr too much sense
seriosly guys someone rb this i make all these theories then they never get recognition its not selfish im so proud of this

okay now YOU have to give me your top 3 Bandito Tour Things™️ bc I’m foaming at the mouth over your tags
Top 3 is probably not feasible because gosh there just was not a low point there was not an off beat it was iconic moment after iconic moment for like 3 hours I can't even but I can probably keep rambling lmao.
I haven't found anything to back this up and I feel like I'm crazy but I SWEAR they changed the exterior of B stage after the first leg. Like everything I've seen online since then i've only seen the icicle lights that draped down around the perimeter to form a kind of curtain, but I feel like I remember during my first show it was more of a translucent projector screen and so you had these super close up shots of the boys' faces as they're performing, like projected onto the space in front of them from all four sides like the drunk Mike Wazowski meme 😂
I literally ran out of space in my tags for the first time ever but I was about to talk about that very last moment- and it's not unique to that tour and I love the tradition of it, but then coming back on stage from the Trees platforms, and holding up the |-/ finger symbols, bowing, and then Tyler with the "We're Twenty One Pilots and so are you, we'll see you next time, peace." I LOVE that moment because you just feel so seen
Also the little moments that single out Josh and let you love on him, especially the "Not Done, Josh Dun" moment during morph where he got out and had his surfing solo I love it.
Speaking of funny little Josh moments, I'm now just remembering too how like, Tyler came across the sky bridge to get to B stage during Nico and the Niners and Josh just kinda,,, awkwardly shuffles over around the outside of the pit at the end of the song. I legit don't know why, if it had to do with the production itself or maybe it was just an anxiety thing and they were accommodating him but they always kinda took a second between songs to joke about it.
And yeah the whole B stage moment was really cool, I loved Tyler's silly little dance in the yellow blazer during Bandito.
The way they got people to get funky and dance during My Blood and the cameras always went to the security guards getting down with it 😂
And also like gosh this is a bit more abstract but I really liked the balance they struck in terms of like? Tone? They come out the gate full force and red hot and they're being all badass and in character for jumpsuit/levitate/fairly local but then like--- they have moments where they calm down a little bit and talk to you like real people. They're going to give you everything they have and they're going to bring that intensity, but they also don't sacrifice on authenticity and warmth and just showing they're gratitude to you for being there.
I didn't meet my wife until incidentally just a week or two after my last Bandito tour show, and even tho I got to take her to the takeover tour to see what a show was like, I still so deeply wish I had gotten to share that moment with her.
Trench was absolutely my favorite era so far and the album itself, the story and the iconography all played huge roles in that, but those shows completely cemented it for me.
