— THE OBSERVANT SIMP

from the start, he’s quite oblivious to certain things, (social ques, signs of romantic interest, etc.)

but when he’s observant with someone, then that totally means you’re special to him. does he realize how much he pays attention to you? hmm.. maybe?

he’s going to be the first one that notices you’re hungry, even if you don’t realize it yourself. he’s quick to grab a snack and break it open to you

same thing with being thirsty— if he notices that your water bottle is empty, he’ll quickly find the nearest vending machine and buy a bottle.

temperature is also no problem. he can immediately tell whenever someone’s cold; but he usually helps you first

too hot? he’s slowly putting down the room’s temperature

too cold? his left palm starts emitting some sort of heat in your direction, hoping it creates some sort of aid

if your shoelaces are undone, and/or he notices that there’s a button undone on your shirt— he’ll fix it for you

will ask to take your pictures on dates, and he’ll also help you pick out the best photo (not that any photo of you is short of any beauty)

in short— people will notice that he’s actually a big simp for you; because of how observant he is with you specifically.

katsuki bakugou

— THE TSUNDERE SIMP

just because he’s simping for you doesn’t mean he’ll treat you any differently. bakugou will be bakugou, and you eventually learn how to adapt to that.

but even so, his simp habits slip out sometimes.

when he’s cooking, he’ll accidentally make too much to eat, and he’ll coincidentally put the extras in another box and hand it to you

he’s a good student, even with studies. but would he say he’s a good teacher? hm. probably not

but if he notices you need help, he’ll sigh, feining annoyance as he decides to tutor y’all, because those ‘idiots’ are hopeless

rolls his eyes when he sees food on your cheek, but he’ll grab a tissue and wipe it off for you— claiming how you’re so messy.

he’ll act like he hates hearing your ‘annoying ass singing’ but he’ll lean against the doorway and listen to you rock out to whatever song you’re singing to.

denki will call him a simp for looking after you, and bakugou will just yell at him to “SHUT UP” >:T

he secretly likes taking care of you. his words aren’t the softest thing in the world, but his actions make up to it.

izuku midoriya

— THE DETAILED SIMP

as katsuki bakugou would call him; he is a nerd

he definitely meant that as an insult, but his input on detail makes it very useful in things like relationships

he remembers every detail of your quirk, your limits, potential secret moves.

it would’ve been stalker-ish, if it weren’t for the fact that deku does this out of admiration for his s/o

so if you so happen to collapse due to overusing your quirk— deku has a detailed plan on what to do. it’s almost scary.

he puts detail in a lot of things, anniversary gifts, birthday gifts, and so on.

deku’s also the type to plan things weeks before it actually happens. like.. planning out the perfect birthday gift

and with this, his memory is really good. so it’s very unlikely that he’ll just suddenly forget anniversaries and birthdays.

i hc deku as a bad cook, so he eats takeout food more than his homemade food

but he’s takes note of your allergies, your dislikes with food— and he finds himself mumbling small details to recall what you like

when you walk out in pretty/good outfits for dates

his face will break out into shades of red— suddenly rambling all the good details of your outfit, complimenting you while he’s at it

“y/n’s looks fantastic as always. i might die from their beauty”

if anyone calls him a simp, he’ll be really embarrassed about it. “me? a s-simp? is that a bad thing?”

just tell him it’s fine.

denki kaminari

— THE HYPEMAN SIMP

a big simp

like.. really big

he worships the ground you step on, and hypes up everything you do

y’all know when irene from red velvet literally breathed in north korea, and the crowd just

*claps*

yeah, that’s denki to you

it’s so blantly obvious that he’s simping over someone, and everyone’s just kinda used to it at this point

he’s just a big fanboy sometimes

whenever you’re sparring with someone, he’s always in the background like

“go s/o!!” 🤩

and he has tendencies to go a little easy on you like.. what’s he gonna do when you get electricuted??

but that doesn’t mean he’s never serious— nah.

there are times where he’s just a little bashful just being in your presence

sneaking glances your way, as he silently fanboys about you in general.

“s/o looks really good today. they always look good but !!”

when y’all weren’t together, the bakusquad was just tired of the constant romantic pining

it was really obvious that he was simping back then, and they’re not so sure as to how you didn’t say anything about it

mina always called him a simp

so yeah!! it was a big relief when you got together with him. he never makes you feel terrible, because he’s always your #1 hypeman.

eijirou kirishima

— THE HELPING SIMP (rip idk what to call this)

i didn’t really know what kinda name i went for this one but let me carry on

kiri upfront is very confident, and friendly. he never shows a mean side to anyone,

and there are rare cases of him being bashful

he’s kinda almost like a golden retriever? since he’s always nice and friendly to everyone

but then when you enter the room; he suddenly goes quiet, and he’s left alone with his rather loud thoughts about you

he didn’t really know how to properly approach you at first

but him being kiri, he’s still rather friendly to you (for now)

when he’s messing around, practically sharing one braincell with kami and sero

and then you suddenly walk in— he snaps out of his foolishness, and greet you with his very warm smile

“hey y/n!” he waves at you, and he hopes you don’t mention the teasing look on both kami and sero’s face

sometimes when he’s doing his close combat training, and he notices that he’s getting too close to you

he’ll be like “woah man, maybe we should move locations.” bc he doesn’t wanna hit you by accident ;;

kirishima prefers to not stand near you when his hair is all spiky. like he’s never conscious about it, until he’s around you

man poked sero with his hair before, and he doesn’t want to do that to you

kiri always looks at your hand, just to see if it’s occupied with something. his thoughts linger to what your hand might feel like

“their hand looks really.. soft. argh! i shouldn’t be thinking about these kind of things in public! im sorry y/n”

bakugou really only notices kirishima’s simping ways

bakugou always mentions the fact that kirishima goes really silent whenever you’re around—

and he’s secretly contemplating on having you around more so he can just shut up 。・°°・(＞_＜)・°°・。

moving aside all of that, kiri always carries your things.

you’ll beg him to give you at least one thing, and he’ll say no because it’s “not manly to let someone carry all of this.”

if you’re sad, he’s the first one to cheer you up— reassuring you that everything will be okay.

kiri’s just wants to be at your service at all times! it’s manly to help people, right?

hitoshi shinsou

— THE DISCREET SIMP

no one would be able to tell that he’s simping for someone

because unlike kaminari; he’s not like IM HITOSHI SHINSO AND IM ACTUALLY A SIMP

he’s a lot more discreet, and no one has really caught on, besides you and kaminari of course

he’s a lot less sarcastic with you, asking you about anything that’s happened instead of just being there

he prefers it to hear you talk. the way each word and syllable rolls off your tongue smoothly, and the way you use your hands to emphasize things

he’s amused.

oh and the way he looks at you? almost any normal person can sense the simp in him pop out (he’s so contained though)

he’s definitely the person that’ll get rid of any bug that’s terrifying you— even though he’d normally just leave it to them

he’ll do it, regardless if it’s the biggest fucking spider he’s ever seen, or the smallest spider

he’ll do it to make you feel safe.

he has these random spurs of compliments during the day

the source mainly comes from his staring habit

and they’re just so unexpected and out of the blue. hitoshi’s amused whenever he sees your reaction to his compliments

like.. you could be really frustrated about something, and he’ll just go “your eyes are pretty.” that’s his discreet method tO MAKE YOU TEMPORARILY DISTRACTED FROM THE ISSUE—

call him a simp, whatever. it’s true anyway so he doesn’t why should he be ashamed of it?

he’s discreet about it, since it’s your business and his business. but you can definitely feel his feelings loud and clear

neito monoma

— THE 180 SIMP

“i’m not a simp!”

he had his last laugh, and he never thought he’d be this soft around someone.

especially if you’re from class 1-A like.. i became the thing i hated, ugh.

monoma canonically likes pastels. spread the word

so sometimes, you’ll walk over to your desk— and you’ll just see this random pastel ornament sitting on your desk

whenever monoma starts becoming annoying, kendo will definitely use you as a weapon to make him shut up

he’ll be laughing at the expression on his face, thinking he’s absolutely winning at this

but the smile is wiped off his face when he hears “ok go on, i’ll tell y/n about your antics.”

class 1-b literally use you as blackmail whenever monoma acts up, and it’s because of how different he is around you

BKDK IS IRREFUTABLY CANON AND HERE'S WHY

There's a lot of different ships in the mha fandom and a lot of anti baukudekus out there but I'm here to tell you that they are wrong- and here's why:

The manga hasn't been finished yet so I can't say for sure that bkdk will become legitimately canon but I can say for absolutely certain that Horikoshi 100% ships them. And even better- he WANTS US TO SHIP THEM TOO. I don't know yet if he's setting us up for a Canon bkdk endgame but it's pretty damn obvious that there's some kind of romantic going on, and hori is doing it intentionally.

There's literally so much evidence so I'm just gonna run through some of this as quickly as possible

For obvious reasons- why is Katsuki on Deku's left ring finger? If we're going off of the generally accepted ochadeku then it would make sense to put her on his left ring finger, right? But who's there instead? That's fuckin right, dekus childhood best friend turned bully turned rival turned...not quite friend bc that doesn't really seem to fit their dynamic, does it? Whatever it is, however, Horikoshi thought making art with kacchan on Deku's marriage finger fit that dynamic when he could have chose literally any other finger.

And here's the thing, guys. Horikoshi knows what's up. He's not stupid. I refuse to believe that this is just a coincidence or whatever bc, look, if we weren't supposed to read into it, Horikoshi would have put mineta or someone on that finger. But he didn't, he put Katsuki there full well knowing that bkdk is the biggest ship in MHA. Full well knowing their history, the intensity they have with each other. Tell me he didn't do that shit on purpose, I dare you

Give me one single non gay reason for the entirety of this show focusing on deku and kacchan holding hands.

Deku unlocked blackwhip from sheer anger at monama for talking shit on Kacchan, and then later when asked how he was able to unlock it, he lied to All Might, and said it just happened, when he knew exactly what "just happened" and it embarrassed him enough to lie to freaking ALL MIGHT so he didn't have to explain how someone shit talking his childhood friend bothered him so much he went feral and unlocked a brand new power just to KO a classmate

Katsuki canonically bullied izuku because the thought of him doing things to put himself in danger when he was quirkless and unable to defend himself made Katsuki feel so uncomfortable that he chose to detach himself from his childhood friend in order to not be hurt by him. He cared about his nerd so damn much, that the thought of losing him hurt to the point that he would have rather lost him as a friend all together than continue caring about him and go through the pain of losing him someday when he wasn't prepared for it. If Katsuki didn't care for deku so intensely he wouldn't have even gone through the trouble. Kinda sounds like love, mate

This didn't need to happen but boy were we blessed anyway

Izuku is literally watching you every moment of the day and you want more???? Also your whole thing is supposed to be like being recognized as the best and whatever why in hell is only Deku's recognition important? You have other classmates and ppl watching u fruity bastard

He's gonna be the best and be better than all might but he'd rather die than let his childhood friend/rival be murdered in front of him. Better him then that stupid nerd...right?

I don't want this to be crazy long so I'm just gonna stop but THE POINT IS- regardless, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT BECOMES CANON IN THE MANGA/ANIME, Horikoshi obviously ships them and he WANTS us to ship them too! He wouldn't put out incredibly sus official art if he didn't, wouldn't let his assistant put out those crazy adorable sketches if he didn't, there just WOULD NOT BE SO MUCH EVIDENCE IF IT WASNT CANON IN THE CREATORS EYES

Add with that the fact that Ochako is obviously supposed to be Deku's love interest but the entire thing falls flat. I refuse to believe that that wasn't done on purpose. Hori's telling us something. He cannot be able to write deku and kacchans relationship so freaking well and then supposedly write in a love interest for the MC that seems stupidly insignificant and bland. Why even put the love interest In there in the first place? He did that shit on PURPOSE. He's showing us something. I feel it in my bones, damnit.

Please feel free to add onto this with ur own things, but I would honestly be surprised if at this point bkdk didn't become Canon in the end. But, even if it doesn't, we can at least sleep well knowing that it damn well is supposed to be, and we have the creator on our side so antis can fuck right off

warnings: none other than swearing, otherwise just softness.

author’s note: this came to me because i’m feeling shitty and want a little love. when i say sleeping, i literally just mean sleeping. please don’t be gross, it’s against school rules.

according to the UA student handbook, sleeping anywhere other than your assigned room is strictly off-limits. especially if that place is the dorm room of another student that you have your eyes on. however, there’s something about your boyfriend’s twin sized bed, with blankets that smell like him, that’s just so comfortable.

maybe it’s the way that a twin sized bed fits two only if you’re completely wrapped up in each other, violating any laws of personal space. your legs tangle with his, and your face fits in the crook of his neck because it has to so that you don’t fall off.

or maybe it’s how sharing a twin bed encapsulates young love, so much love held in such a small place, begging for more room to spread and flourish. it’s all so intimate, so loving, so vulnerable. and honestly, there’s nobody else you’d rather be that person with, lying underneath his covers and waking with puffy eyes.

enjoy your night, and have sweet dreams as you doze off with...

HE’S a blanket hog and he knows it so he keeps an extra one for you

he also has stuffed animals on his bed that koda got for him hehe

he’d ask you to come to his room to help him study, but he ends up needing a lot more help than either of you expected, so you end up staying much later

he’s very cuddly but he’s also very energetic so it takes a while for him to calm down enough to actually lay down and sleep

you’d get tired before he did, and have to ask him to come lay down once he finishes that last problem

he finally does, and he tosses and turns a little before he gets comfy and finally relaxes into your arms

he holds you like a koala bear (even if you’re shorter than him, he loves clinging onto someone and feeling them)

or he sleeps like a starfish and drools everywhere. i can’t tell which one.

or he also likes being the little spoon cuz it’s cozy!!!

he would pepper your face in kisses and do even more once you tell him how gross his morning breath is <3!!!

he would be so sweet and so soft with you because he’s used to people being afraid of him for his looks and doesn’t want to scare you away :(

even getting him to remove his mask was hard at first, but once he trusts you and knows you don’t think he’s hideous, the curtain falls and he’s just such a love bug

he’s gonna lay down on his back and have you lay on his chest so he can hold you, and you’ll wake up just like that, feeling his chest rise and fall with every breath

& when he wakes up with you in his (many) arms? he’s never been happier.

shoto is touch starved in all the worst ways, and often flinches away from contact without meaning to, only to apologize for his behavior (even if he can’t control it)

he needs soothing, calming touches to remind him that he’s loved and that you care about him for who he is, not who he will be.

and also to remind him that he isn’t hideous because of his scar. he’s still quite beautiful, actually.

although he loves his dorm room and how calm it is, sometimes it reminds him too much of home and he needs a break from it.

when he needs to escape, he’ll send a simple text saying, “can i come to your room?” he won’t play games or pretend like he’s fine when he isn’t.

he just wants you, and to be comforted by you.

he’s your personal space heater or air conditioner, so whatever extreme your body decides to run on, he’ll regulate you.

he likes the comfort of a weighted blanket and loves sharing blankets even more. that level of trust and intimacy—that neither of you are going anywhere—is so comforting to shoto

he’s the biggest blanket hog, and will wrap his entire body in the blanket and not leave a single shred of it for you. you could be shivering, and he’d tell you to shut up and go to sleep bc you both have class tomorrow.

he won’t admit that he was lonely and wanted attention, but the way he hold you tightly lets you know how he really feels

or if he had a nightmare, he’d call you and ask if he could come to your room to cool off before falling sleep all wrapped up with you.

be prepared to sleep early and wake up early too, cuz he goes to sleep by 9 and isn’t interested in funny business. he gets up for his pre-workout run by 5, and can’t really be quiet about it cuz he needs to eat before he goes. he’s sorry for waking you, but only a little.

if you’re a talker, and like to babble about your dreams of the future before falling asleep, he’ll listen for a little bit before losing his patience and saying, “no more talking, just cuddle me and go to sleep already.”

izuku midoriya:

he’s less likely to ask you to come over as he is to dutifully race to your room to comfort you

no matter what’s planned for tomorrow or how late it is

and he’s not scared to get caught, he really doesn’t mind cleaning duty if it means he was there to be the for you when you needed him

he’s so sweet and outwardly loving, i think he’d either lay directly on top of you or lay by your side and tangle all his limbs with yours

MHA BOYS WITH AN S/O THAT HAS TOURETTES

BAKUGO

Bakugo wasn’t really sure when he first met you about why your head was twitching or why you were repeating the sentences Aizawa had said sometimes, as he didn’t know you had tourettes. He never even spoke to you like the others did so you never had the chance to tell him until Kirishima did.

When you two started dating he started seeing patterns of when you would get to stressed and start jerking or spouting out random things you heard from youtube videos, he did his best to make sure you knew he was there for reassurance, whether it was a hand on your hand or just pure presence.

There were times when you would have ticcing fits and he would have to sit and rub your back and watch you, and in those times you realized he really was there for you.

He likes to do this thing where he rants on about things he doesn’t like to try and distract you- I’m not sure how he has so much he doesn’t like but every time it’s a new odd topic....sometimes it can literally be something like how he hates trees because when it’s fall he has to rake up the leaves and you have to say

“Bakugo they literally help you not die.” It really is a mystery sometimes how he’s so smart.

Sometimes you can be a bit upset with your tics. It’s not that you’re insecure or that you’re ashamed, but they’re difficult to deal with. The control that you could have isn’t there and that’s stressful in and of itself, and in those moments Bakugo realizes the best thing he can do for you - is make you understand that you are just like the rest of the class and the rest of the people in the world.

“Listen it doesn’t matter if you’re different because to me you’re still cool, you’re still funny, you’re still incredibly sarcastic and while I don’t enjoy that for the most part- you’re my extra regardless of whatever you feel. Get that bull out of your head.”

I mean, he wouldn’t date anybody less than the best.

MIDORIYA

Midoriya is the predictable character in the relationship. He researched about Tourettes and what he could do in times when you needed him, I mean he’s not perfect but he’d rather know something rather than nothing.

You tended to be the one who was more of a risk taker, and sometimes your tourettes got in the way of that- which could frustrate you to no end then causing harsher tics like hitting or yelling, and those were the times Midoriya tried to get anything too dangerous either out of your hands- or just out of the way so you didn’t get hurt, he was smart with it.

Other times he could be too much for you, almost treating you like a kid so you had to remind him that you know and understand precautions, but that you also want to live like everybody else and that is nothing short of your business.

You’re favorite activity with him was when he would help you study because he made it so fun for you. It could be hard to pay attention in class sometimes and do your work after school so Izuku would come over and assist you. He would make sure you guys took breaks and that you understood the topic at your own pace.

“Izuku can you like- give an example?”

“Well it’s just kind of- wait what is an example-“

In many situations Midoriya LOVED holding your hand, like he did it at any time, any place. It was something he thought wasn’t too much in public and it was reassuring for you both. When you’re tics got too much you could squeeze his hand, and other times when he wouls get anxious or something would happen he would squeeze yours. It was cute and handy!

There were instances when Midoriya definitely had his mistakes with your tics and how to deal with them but he was willing to take his time and learn because who would he be without his perfect person stayin’ by his side?

KIRISHIMA

Kirishima is probably the most sympathetic with your tics because he stay prepared for them. It’s never been like “Kirishima can you” but it’s always been more like ‘Kiri how do you always know’ and there’s never been an answer that he gave other than ‘I gotta stay ready for my lovely lover~’

Kirishima likes to do this thing where he goes “neck” after you have a rough day with your tics and with massage your neck for you or your back, depending on how your tics were. He likes takin’ care of you, and it’s not like he doesn’t know you can’t take care of yourself because hey, you didn’t get into 1-A by being a pushover.

Sometimes you’ve had times when people in school just aren’t all that accepting and Kirishima will clap back unprovoked.

“Sometimes I think about how sad you have to be to make fun of them and dang man, you got a therapist?”

Other times you’ll basically respond for him, like I said, you can DEFINITELY take care of yourself.

Whenever you’re in the car or on the bus on a trip in the case that you’ve gotten real excited (which is natural being around your boyfriends and your friends at the same time) he’ll play this playlist he made of your favorite songs and sing to distract you. Does he sing well? That wasn’t the question- but he does sing, only for you though because the other students keep dissing him.

He has a reflex of rubbing your back during free period or at lunch. I don’t think this is relevant but it’s something super adorable, and sometimes he just gives you his hand to look at and play with when you have anxiety as well to keep you calm.

Also irrelevant but other times he’ll facetime you before you guys go somewhere and ask what to wear because he wants to match with you, and it’s so cute because you could lie so hard and he’d believe everything you say.

You two are kinda a power couple like- you both can hold your own but also are such nice people, good job makin’ the rest of 1-A feel lonely guys.

TODOROKI

Todoroki is a simple guy. He doesn’t want to overcomplicate things for the most part because “why would I act like your guardian, if I’m literally your boyfriend” and that’s that.

He tends to try and keep you calm, as it’s something pretty simple for him, he knows a bunch of tactics for distractions or when those are obsolete, he’ll just sit there with you, and maybe rub your back or get a water bottle for when it’s done, he just never wants to do too much because he knows your capabilities, and he knows your limits.

He is also a large hand holder. Mostly because he doesn’t like the idea of PDA for the most part, and he doesn’t like leaving your side either, because you’re very comforting to him. It’s a given we all know he needs love and comfort please.

There have been times when people look at your because of your tics in public and Todoroki has had to give a little glare back because of the disrespect being blatantly put out. In rarer times you will both glare at the same time, those are the coolest moments of you as a couple.

Shoto doesn’t really care much for your tics only because he’d rather just make sure you’re ok then watch Avengers rather than treat you like a child if anything, and that’s because you told him first that you wanted a boyfriend not a babysitter (speakin’ facts) and at first he didn’t understand and he thought you didn’t want his help but soon understood otherwise.

Some cute things I like to think of are that he likes to put on your favorite songs when you’re anxious and try to dance for you. It’s not good- let’s start with that, because he’s kinda...stiff, but the attempt is absolutely adorable (and oh so funny).

Other things are he likes to call you cheesy nicknames when you’re cuddling because he likes your reactions everytime, because according to him, yeah he said it himself, you are very adorable when annoyed. Don’t @ me!

Overall he just loves spending time with you whenever he can, you’re truly a safe-haven for him.

Alright tourettes is a real thing y’all, so I didnt make this rainbows n cupcakes bc im sure that’s not always how it is.

bakugo told you he’d help you jump her but you were trying to the bigger person and told him you’d talk it out

you and the girl met during lunchtime, you took Mina to help mediate

you politely confronted her

she denied it and called you crazy

you pulled out the receipts

her “friends” sent you all the screenshots

“why are you so obsessed with me?” you ask

“who would be obsessed with an ugly bitch like you?”

“sis, who you callin’ a bitch?”

now Mina wants you to throw hands

like why is she calling YOU a bitch when she’s the one that’s talking shit and you don’t even know her???

things start to escalate and you both are screaming at one another and attracting the attention of your friends

she uses her quirk on you and everyone gasps

like, what the hell?

Aizawa immediately uses his scarf and cancels your quirks and orders both of you to the office

but you’re seeing red at this point

your ex-friend started to spread disgusting rumors about your little sister (who also goes to U.A as a first-year) just because it got out that her crush liked your sister

izuku, trying to be your hero™, thought y’all should talk it out so he brought both of you to the lunch table

bless his heart but this boi don’t know

you both sat in silence before you glared at your boyfriend

“why am i in front of this girl?”

izuku: 😯

“don’t address me like i’m some child” she says

“then stop talking about my sister like some little ass girl, bitch”

he immensely regretted this

izuku tries to calm you two down, but things just get worse

suddenly there are mentions of area codes and he didn't quite understand how they correlated to how well people fight, but he didn't have enough time to think about it

he’s trying to hold you back now

someone called aizawa over because you two started using your quirks

your sister is begging you to chill out but you’re too furious to listen

aizawa cancels your quirks before things go too far

izuku got so scared because he knows the punishment for fighting and he would hate it if you got expelled because of his dumb idea at peacekeeping

“y/n, please calm down! it’s not worth it”

even with your quirks gone, you two are rolling around the ground, punching, scratching, and screaming awful things at each other

yells at bakugo for cheering you on

Hitoshi Shinsou:

you know this man is shady af

you two make snarky comments to each other all the time

he loves the way you hold your head up high

he just loves your confidence, it was one of the things that made you so attractive to him

so it hurts him when you started being insecure and timid

he asks you what was going on, but you just say you’re tired

but after a while, you breakdown to him about some girl that’s been bullying you

he knows how it feels to be demonized, so he comforts you, and offers ways to defend yourself against the bullying

very mature™️, very adult™️

it seems to work for a little bit, but then it gets worse

her words start getting to you and, instead of being sad, you start getting angry

but its that really calm type of angry

shinsou defends you a lot, but one day you tell him it’s okay

then you tell the girl, “next time i see you, it’s on sight baby girl”

it was in a sickly sweet tone that sent shivers down everyone’s spine

on the lowest of keys, it turned shinso on

he’s like: 🥰😏

you and your bully were then paired up for combat training

you two fight each other and you’re going at her with everything you’ve got

shinsou is at the side, cheering you on

he thinks you look hot when you’re angry

also, he’s so ready to see you destroy that girl

for educational purposes

it’s obvious that you two are fighting with ill-intentions and aizawa is forced to cancel your quirks

she doesn’t stop running her mouth though

“you deserved to be picked on”

“oh word?”

“did i stutter?

there was a moment of intense silence as you stared at her

then shinsou yells, “snatch that hoe, y/n!”

and you did just that

you don’t know what happened to her

but you got detention, but your boyfriend gets it too for instigating

the thing that kills me about bakugou is when the plf go "having a powerful quirk means i'm better than you"and basically advocate for eugenics, it's horrible and corrupt, but when bakugou does it, it's lol funny and 'oh that gremlin.' in a recent chapter he made fun of the past OFA holders for having 'weak' quirks and dying and he said these things in front of Toshi, who has himself given so much. just...what was the point of him knowing about OFA if he was just going to be a disrespectful ass?

I have no idea why it was necessary for him to know, tbh. I think it was a waste of an opportunity to give him growth by NOT telling him. And honestly, I agree that k*tsuki and the plf have similar ideals because they’re elitists. :/ They think they’re better than others. Unironically, the lov wanting k*tsuki on their side would have been like, them all sharing this same thought. Idk, I just don’t like him. The things he says and does are played off as comedic relief now and it’s honestly so annoying. He needs to be brought down from his pedestal.

But I think people really stretch it to give him a tragic backstory when in reality, he doesn’t have one. He is a spoiled brat. Shouto has proven how to be a better person. He’s just a better character in general.

But the narrative acts like their good friends now and I have been feeling so frustrated with this, I wanted a mutual relationship with mutual respect on both sides and bk//dk hasn't reached that part and it shouldn't take this long for it to be. 3/3

Thank you for sharing this with me, nony!! I appreciate it. It’s really sad that their relationship hasn’t improved at all. It’s so long overdue and now things are played as comedic relief like him hurting Izuku with his spike and also being extremely disrespectful during the ofa meetings. Their relationship isn’t healthy and it isn’t friendly, no matter how canon wants to paint it that way.

Thank you, I’m glad to hear it. I don’t like that he, a literal bully who has suicide baited Izuku and has hurt him with his explosion quirk, is the fandom’s favorite and the most popular character. Literally any other character would have been better to stan than him. He’s everywhere and I can’t enjoy part of the series because of him always being there. It’s so annoying. I will continue to yell about why he is not a good character until horikoshi gives us the development he desperately needs AND an apology to Izuku for being so abusive to him. And yes, bullying is abuse.

My pure green son who deserves the world and his literal bully/abuser are you SHITTING ME???? I try very hard not to hate ships I do really try but I just CAN'T with this ship it disgusts me

BNHA AU Ideas : The villain’s little hero

Also on AO3!

TL;DR: All Might, Japan's number 1 villain has a successor. The problem? His successor is a hero hopeful. All Might will stop at nothing to make sure his kid gets to live his dream.

au where all might is a villain raising izuku to be a hero!

quirkless izuku, his backstory is mostly the same

all might decided that hero work had too much red tape. if he was going to take down afo, he needed the freedom to do whatever he had to and he wasnt getting that working within the law

so hes a,,, viilllaaaiinnn?? like. stain. but less murdery, would also save civilians if they were in danger

he has 0 qualms about crippling fake heroes but hes not a fan of murder

nighteye is still his sidekick, he doesnt use his quirk on allmight bc all might h a t e s it

hes kinda on board with "the future is only set in stone because you've seen it now" so he wants the freedom to break fate. but its very useful to get info, so nighteye just uses it on other people

hero to the people villain to literally everyone else

allmights villain costume is reallll similar to his hero costume. just less eye bleeding

he has longer grey hair too.

also melissa is a Soft Young Woman and she is all mights favourite person on this fucking planet until he meets izuku

all might went to ua, only defected after completing his hero training because he wanted to be trained by the people he was going to screw over

izuku has always kinda been a big fan of all might. not openly because hes legally a villain and very much paints himself as one, but his quirk is one of the most amazing things izuku has ever seen

when he looks closer, all might has never let a civilian get hurt once hes been on scene. hes taken hits to protect housing, hes pulled heroes from the line of fire

izuku watches his sports festivals and wonders why? why did all might, the man who happily told the world he'd stop at nothing to keep them safe, suddenly flip sides like that for no reason?

izuku doesnt buy it

izuku's big yellow backpack is a big red one in this universe, hes had it so long its gone pink but he still loves it

the sludge villain

all might saves him and izuku is crying. allmight thinks its because hes scared but izuku just turns to him with this big weepy eye smile and gives him the most genuine thanks he thinks hes ever been given

(its honestly the shock of that that makes him deflate into small might, which has izuku scrambling to find tissues and called an ambulance before he thinks better of calling emergency services for All Might)

izuku is like "Im SO SORRY SIR ARE YOU oK"

and all might is like ",,, b oy"

izuku softly asking

"can,, can i still be someone with out a quirk? can i still make a difference?"

all might doesnt get the chance to anser because there is a massive explosion in the distance

its bakugo!! hes dying

the sludge villain got away bc izuku and all might were chatting a little

izuku hears it and he feels this terrible realization, because its probably not bakugo? but its definitely bakugo because izuku's life is falling to pieces

he sprints towards him and katsuki will n e v e r admit it but he feels hope in that moment because some one is trying to help. even if its just izuku, he wasnt totally left for dead

all might sees this tiny, nervous, quirkless kid run straight up to a villain that almost killed him seconds before to save someone what looks like they'd rather die

and he thinks

"no one deserves one for all more than him"

and allmight, the most wanted villain in japan, maybe the world, jumps in

the heroes look at him and they are scared. if they couldnt take the sludge villain, what is all might going to do to them? but the scariest man in japan, the person parents tell their kids about to stop them from going out at night, blows the sludge villain to tiny pieces and carefully, gently, places the two boys by the heroes

before he vanishes before they can call for backup or even ask why

izuku gets yelled at by the heroes because the heroes are scared and angry they couldnt stop either of the villains and izuku is so overwhelmed that hes crying and he can hardly breathe

bakugo doesnt even yell at him because hes so dazed about everything that happened and he cant make himself yell at this sobbing kid that used to be his friend

(bakugo is holding izukus hand like hes going to crush it but its the only thing keeping izuku present)

izuku is walking home and hes still hicuping and crying because he almost died and the heroes hate him and he feels a hand on his shoulder, and a soft :"its ok now my boy"

he knows its all might but he cant help but hide his face in his shirt and sob

all might gets down so he can look izuku in the eye

"you asked me if you could be someone with out a quirk and i didnt get the chance to answer. my answer? you already are someone. you are someone that inspired me, a villain, to save the day. you are going to be amazing"

and looks him dead in the eye "you'll do amazing things, even with out a quirk. but, you of all people deserve one, and no matter what you chose to do with it, it can be yours. hero, villain or someone in between"

izuku looks at this villain

this painfully thin villain, who just saved his life and who has unimaginable strength

and he throws his arms around his waist and sobs

inko isnt a great mum in this au and she likes to basically pretend izuku doesnt exist

izuku trains a lot and has to make his own food bc his mum just ignores him

he sneaks out at night to clear trash and sneaks back in before dawn to clean the sand from his hair

he smells like saltwater and rust, and he hasnt slept more than 4 hours a night in weeks and katsuki is worried

all might sees him crumbling with a smile stuck on his face and he wants to stop him from self-destructing, but the kid will never learn his lesson until he feels his body give up under what hes doing to it. if all might steps in he'll do it again and again until no one stops him and hes never learnt his limit.

so he waits and he watches while he pretends he cant see the bags under his eyes and pretends that everytime izuku sways on his feet he doesnt feel a jolt of deep panic

did he do this? if he the reason izuku looks like hes falling apart before his eyes?

the kid passes the fuck out and all might tells him off in a soft dad way and izuku cries bc why does this villain care more than his mum does

and all might catches the end of that little mumble, and feels terrible so he pretends he didnt hear and takes him for lunch

they go to a cafe and all might buys izuku the cutest slice of cake and a big ass bowl of katsudon and some fancy fucking tea and covers the kids eyes every time he tries to look at the prices

izuku looks at all might and asks

"are you buying me katsudon with crime money"

and all might looks sheepish and izuku giggles like an idiot and says "dont tell me ill feel bad!!!"

all might grins bc this kid is honestly the only reason he hasnt stabbed a pro hero in a few months bc hes so fucking sweet

he has to carry izuku half the way home bc the kid could barely lift his chopsticks and almost fell asleep in the booth after he finished eating

and allmight, skinny and kinda scary is giving his 15 year old a piggy back and someone says "you're such a good dad!" and he almost coughs up his last lung

izuku mumbles sleepily and hes has the biggest warm and fuzzy feeling and hes going to yell bc hes All Might the No. 1 Villain and this fucking kid is drooling on his sweater but he would die for him

some random stranger on the street commenting on how it was rly fortunate that izuku inherited his adorable smile from his father

all might, abt to burst into tears: whack

allmight is easily flustered even when hes killed a man

he comes home and inko isnt there so he has to like, wake up izuku to get him to open the door and he feels bad bc izuku is a Sleepy Man

izuku mumbles that he cant ever tell if shes at home or not because nothing changes and all might feels a wave of "wait my son isnt being parented enough"

so he makes izuku a cup of tea and tucks him into bed after he has a shower because izuku is His Son Now Inko

hes like

sitting in the living room reading the paper and he hears inko's car and hes like ",,, fuck it im walking out the front door im no coward"

she doesnt even notice and hes going to scream because does she have a brain

inko, spaced out, tired and terrible: oh is the tall man here for izuku :))) thats great :)))

all might is screaming bc"" do you get let weird men into see your tiny son>???? what the fuck???

hes so small inko??? and you?? let random men in?????

all might would yeet her into the sun if he could but his boy needs an actual family member to make going to ua easier

inko is kinda mentally ill. she is depressed and often forgets she has izuku. like shes not always being terrible she just sometimes forget to do basic things

one time she locked izuku out of the house for 10 hours and he had to sleep next to the front door

one month she didnt buy any food so by the end of it he was starving and out of his own money and there was n o t h i n g in the house, but inko would go out to eat every night and lunch and not take her son

allmight is upset bc izuku didnt tell him but izuku is embarrassed. embarrassed that he was forgotten by his own mum, that he couldnt do anything to help her or himself and honestly mad he was so hungry all might noticed bc he didnt want to bug him

it was getting to the point that katsuki actually slipped some change into his bag with a candy bar

okay au idea for butterfly. what if all might was butterfly instead of izuku? okay just hear me out- am!butterfly is going after all might just like izuku but he doesn’t realize too much at first because he’s sick and everything right so people are worried but not that sus? tho they’re really scared bc they think he’s dying and all might also thinks he’s dying. the READER thinks he’s dying. this happens before jakku. not sure how long it would be before we got there but some time. tbc

[side note in this au he’s been getting pain more in jakku

so all might thinks that he only has a month or two left. we have the medical jargon and stuff that came after jakku to izuku a bit before. only some of it like a chapter but still some. so all might wants to talk to izuku more bc he knows what losing nana felt like and is scared of how izuku will react if he dies (it’s when in his mind not if tho) so he wants to spend more time and whatever and also his boy is scared he has to help! so he goes in and BOOM BUTTERFLY BURSTS IN THE ROOM

btw izuku is out cold then so he doesn’t see this. we have the scene where izuku hides behind his door bc butterfly is in the room but with all light who’s so scared bc butterfly is hovering over izuku and he cant do anything. he isn’t getting the panic thing bc butterfly doesn’t realize he’s there. butterfly leaves and all might is shaking. he tells this to aizawa or the police and they don’t belive him for some reason?? wait let’s say butterfly can take on another form and only izuku and aM ca

n see his real form. so he doesn’t tell izuku but thinks he’s going insane. no one believed izuku either since whoever came into the diner didn’t see the weird thing with wings. this goes on even when they go to ya bc butterfly follows them. all might is getting worse and neither realizes the other saw butterfly yet they spend tons of time together bc they think all might may die and such. so we have that really sad stuff and then they’re talking and BOOM BUTTERFLY IS BACK AGIAIN AND IS ATTACKIN

aALL MIGHT! izuku is trying to attack butterfly and butterfly flinches back and seems confused. he calls all might a fake or smth and leaves all might to have the pain spasms or whatever. it’s kind of s combine with people think izuku is hallucinating seeing butterfly hover around them and all might dying. they realize they both saw that thing and the claim is more legitmalized. they had video footage of that room so they see! and we have more fighting with butterfly and such. they realize butte

rfly never does anything to izuku so they put him and all might in the safe house like in canon Butterfly. we have the soft dad might scenecs only a bit altered bc if the changed events when chapter 24(?) comes into play. izuku finds butterfly instead of all might. he feels like he needs to protect all might and such and is so scared of him dying. they’re still unsure about if he’ll die or not or if it’s butterfly. so he sees butterfly and butterfly is all “my boy” or whatever and izuku is all

w h a t t h e f u c k so we get the reveal scene expect izuku doesn’t go and hug him butterfly hugs him. ALRIGHT so for the backstory! i’m basing this off the current theory i belive in for butterfly. the one where what the butterfly effect was was him not having the slime incident happen or not going after all might. it’s different this time. so that does happen except during this one all might comes to the training camp and his ass gets kidnapped. he doesn’t get rescued until after the”

I’m still going to update the proto verse story page but I want to have the details hammered out first. So for now here’s a big dump/summary of what I've been working on the last few days;

In terms of the Sports Festival; Mikumo places first in the obstacle course, and get’s saddled with the highest point headband for the cavalry battle. subsequently he has trouble finding people to team up with (especially when combined with his standoffish attitude)

Katsuki volunteers to form a team with him but Mikumo refuses for...obvious reasons, and ends up forming a two person team with Yuu because she’s the real MVP. A true ride or die. (and, at that point, Mikumo’s only friend)

Their strategy is to just retain their points. Which, isn’t too much of a challenge between Yuu’s quirk and Mikumo’s strategy

Mikumo’s first match is against Shinsou, which he wins by figuring out his quirk and (unlike Izuku) managing to keep his mouth shut. His second fight is against Todoroki. He also manages to win this, but unlike Izuku isn’t able to break through his barriers the same way.

Yuu is also able to make her way through her first and second fight; but when facing off against Mikumo she ends up losing because he got to know her quirk well during their face off for the entrance exam, and also during the cavalry battle; and he’d come up with a way to counteract it.

The last match of the tournament is Katsuki vs Mikumo. This entire fight is a dumpster fire. Katsuki doesn’t want to go all out because it will make him look like a bully, regardless of Mikumo’s actual abilities (which is precisely what happened when he fought Ocha in canon lmao) and it drives Mikumo up the gd wall. He really goes Ballistic. Which causes him to win but like,,,at what cost

The final results are; 1st place: Mikumo, 2nd place: Katsuki, 3rd place: Yuu.

Because of his displayed vengeful tendencies against Katsuki and because he won, Mikumo gets targeted by the League of Villains and they attempt to kidnap him. Which brings us to.

In regards to the training camp arc and afterwards:

Mikumi is kidnapped by the League of Villains, being out numbered and alone when he’s ambushed. Katsuki sees him being taken through the warp and tries to grab him but Mikumo pushes him back out. Because a) he would literally rather Die then let Katsuki save him. just, being honest. and because b) since he’s the target, he doesn’t have any way to guarantee someone else wouldn’t be killed instantly for following and he really is a Good Kid who doesn’t want other people hurt for his sake.

Unfortunately, this gets misread by the others who are there and, when combined with Mikumo’s history of rebellious behavior; he is assumed to be the UA traitor.

Because of this, the pros aren’t as quick to rush in for a rescue, because they feel it may be a trap. Cue the students stepping in to do the rescue their own damn selves

Rescue squad is Yuu, Katsuki, Todoroki, and Tetsu. Because those are his friends. That’s it. Those four people. (he’s not a people person)

Meanwhile Mikumo is playing along and pretending to even remotely entertain the idea of joining the villains because doing so may present an opportunity for escape. However, the LoV plays a recording of the pros discussing whether they should stage a rescue mission; given Mikumo may be the traitor.

This is meant to shake him and boy does it work. He basically has a breakdown being faced with the fact that he really Played Himself by constantly pushing people away and acting like an Asshole on purpose. (which i’ll make a separate post going into that and Why a little bit later)

While Mikumo is having his existential crisis the other kids come busting in and manage to come up w/ an escape plan together.

So Mikumo is back safe and sound but still suspected to be the traitor. So he’s been suspended from UA pending their investigation because,,,they don’t want to give him access to information. And Mikumo is, reasonably Pissed. He nearly died and they weren’t going to Help Him and now he’s being kicked out.

He recognizes a lot of it is due to his own choices, though. And so instead of /just/ getting angry he actually sets out to fix it. Because the villains showed him that recording, he figures out that there /isn’t/ a traitor. The school got bugged when there was the break in shortly before the USJ incident.

But because he’s not allowed to set foot on campus he has no way to implement a plan to Prove this. So he basically gets Yuu to gather their classmates somewhere Out of school so he can a) apologize for being a massive dick and b) ask for help

and bc these are all good kids who want to believe their classmate isn’t a traitor, they agree to help.

Still working on the details of the plan but uhhh basically they prove there are hidden cameras/microphones and that Mikumo is Not a traitor. And he’s let back into the school.

Mikumo starts putting an effort forth to be more friendly/less prickly with his classmates. He’s still an emo fuck but it’s clear that he cares and is trying to actually Show It for once.

so ive been thinking abt a bnha vampire au for a while now and i really wanna talk abt it so here it is? its basically what if there were vampires in the bnha universe. vampires are a lot like what youd think they be like- they drink blood, sunlight can hurt them and water can do the same. garlic and religious symbols dont do a damn tho. aside from maybe annoying them bc did you just do that? and they can break into houses all they want.

of course with the advents of quirks its way easier now for a vampire to hide in plain sight since many of their traits can be explained away as the result of a quirk. many pro heroes have the side of being a vampire hunter (endeavor is the no 1 vampire hunter in japan but not the no 1 worldwide. another thing that pisses him off). which basically involves private investigation to see if the suspect is truly a vampire, if it checks out then the actual hunt begins

hunting vampires is /dangerous/. theyre hard to kill and can be very strong and wont hesitate to use innocents as hostages. bc of this and all the other terrors vampires can bring, people with quirks that are deemed vampire-like (like say a quirk that requires the ingestion of blood like stain or toga) are viewed with a lot of fear in society.

now you may be wondering “wheres tododeku gonna come into play?” im just doing a basic set up of the world. izuku midoriya is a dhampir; a human whos half vampire. oh its not bc of his parentage, mind you. hisashi and inko midoriya are both pure blood humans. no, its bc of one for all. all for one and his brother were two boys turned into vampires by a vampire who thought people with quirks were interesting and wanted some as “pets”

much of the backstory plays out the same, afo still forces a quirk onto his brother which creates ofa and the younger brother declares he and his proteges shall fight against him. the transfer of ofa requires ingestion of dna, thus anyone who gains it via blood shall become a vampire too. however the younger brother learned that if its something like a hair than the successor just becomes a dhampir, thus he taught his student to only use a hair for it

fast forward to midoriya who now not only has to learn how to use ofa but also deal with and hide his newfound vampiric powers. this makes lessons where they talk abt vampire hunting hard since theyre being taught how to spot stuff like that. he spends every day wondering if someone will found out and confront him on it.

meanwhile todoroki sits thru these lessons in boredom and irritation. endeavor wants him to be no 1 in everything. the no 1 pro hero and the no 1 vampire hunter worldwide. these lessons just reiterate everything endeavor (sometimes literally) knocked into his head and he feels like theyre a waste of his time. not to mention how one of his classmates seem to be fidgeting suspiciously during these things

when he notices how midoriya acts during these things he starts paying attention to how he acts in general. how he stays in the shadows whenever outside, how once when someone accidentally cut themselves during training he looked at the blood with an odd glint in his eyes. it doesnt take long for him to connect all of these and realized that /theres a possible vampire in his class/

what happens next is an increasingly intense series of todoroki glaring at midoriya who /notices/ this and wonders if he figured out hes a dhampir. the rest of the class also notices and one half is just “dude, do you like, hate him or something?” and the other is “do you like midoriya?” (they noticed the vampiric traits too but a possibility is less of a concern compared to whats happening right now)

this all comes to a head during the sports festival where when todoroki pulls midoriya aside what he asks isnt “are you all mights illegitimate love child” but rather “youre a vampire arent you?” and oh theres so much stuttering, so much tripping over words that doesnt help todorokis suspicions that the only thing that saves him is that theyre gonna be late for the match if it keeps up

ohmanohman a vampire au i forgot how much i like those ((if they’re written well, ofc)) and this is a v realistic approach, especially for the bnha verse!!

if izuku is a dhampir, all might should have been one, yes? it would be a horrific revelation for the world to find out their number one hero is also part of the race they should hate, so ofa’s properties would definitely be a must for izuku to keep a secret. all might would definitely ensure that izuku knows the gravity of this secret, so it would be unlikely for izuku to tell bakugou about his newfound powers–it would be better for bakugou to just think izuku was lying about his quirk the entire time.

i can imagine shouto would be more or less accepting of izuku’s state later on? it’s a bit hard at first because society (and especially endeavor) have engraved in his head that vampires are bad and should all die, but it’s hard to hate izuku.

would drinking the blood of humans enhance izuku’s ofa in any way? like in a dire situation–like, say, with stain–izuku does NOT want to risk iida and shouto’s lives, so shouto tells izuku to drink his blood to help amp his abilities so they would have a better chance to defend themselves against stain. he ends up revealing his nature to iida in the process, but it’s better than having them all dead.

I really like your ageswap!au and lately I've been thinking about it a lot. I love angst so I have this scene in my head. In the future, old retired Izuku gets a phone call. Toshinori has been in a fight against all for one and has been really badly injured and is in the hospital. So he rushes over to the hospital maybe he meets Inko there and he learns about Toshis injury and is just crying cause he's scared Toshi will die.

I don’t think it would be AfO dealing a blow like that on Toshinori in a distant-future thing though, because that particular fight is going to be big and spectacular and also probably include all of Ageswap 1-A bc there’s no way they’d let Toshinori square off without them. It’s a little too close to Canon!Toshinori’s story for my tastes, you know? But you know what me and @guardianlioness think works just as good? A scenario where Toshinori is a pro and is in a fight where the tide is against him, and in order to save people’s lives, he purposefully puts himself in the line of fire.

We’ve actually talked a bit abt this scenario before too so I hope ur ready for this hypothetical Ageswap scenario to get much worse

Deku, as a person, is all rationality. That’s a fact of life. So when he gets a call from Inko while she should be on duty, her voice cool and professional (that’s her doctor voice, this is serious), he’s already bracing for it. The fight was on the news earlier - Toshinori was injured, her voice confirms in his ear. Observations come to him - the nearest hospital, the fact that Inko is talking to him rather than working on Toshinori, the doctors that would have been working with Inko when he arrived - and he worries, but he doesn’t panic. He takes the car (Inko didn’t take it today, decided to take public transit because the walk would be better) and doesn’t rush, because it would put everyone else at risk, and Inko doesn’t need another family member to worry about tonight.

But Deku was a pro hero, Deku was a teacher, Deku is a father - he loves and fears and worries, yes, but he will believe in the only outcome possible. Toshinori will be okay.

His daughter is waiting, ready to meet him as soon as he walks through the doors. The details come forth immediately, clipped, detailed - she’s still wearing her scrubs, but the other nurses and doctors wave her off with Deku when she asks about other patients. All Might is the only severe injury they’ve gotten in that night, and family is important. If they need her later, they’ll call her. She wants to say no, that she’ll do her job, damn it, because this is what she went to school (to UA, to one of the most grueling programs there are for specialists in hero medicine) for, but her coworkers know how to get her to agree and she does, because she doesn’t want to leave Toshinori’s side either.

Bless her heart, though - Inko called everyone, and soon that empty hospital room is full of familiar worried faces that find the scene of family lying on pale hospital sheets far too familiar. He swims in the bandages and pieces of gauze they’ve wrapped him in, mask fogging with every shallow breath. Heavy bruises peek through where the standard paper gown and strips of white don’t quite cover, his hair limp and without its trademark volume, dark bags clear on his face. Toshinori looks like a wreck.

Enji had been white when she came to guide them to the room. He stays just as pale when they walk in, whispering something under his breath that no one can hear. No one needs to mention, though, that he’s been saying the same thing since they got the news, over and over, like a mantra. Like a prayer. They don’t need to ask to know exactly what he’s whispering.

“He’ll live. He won, and he’ll pull through after this so we can all beat his ass for getting hurt and be relieved about it and go on with our lives together. He’ll live.”

Tensei and Nedzu are wound up like a pair of rubber bands, like they always are when they’re at the hospital, but they come like they always do, because some things are more important than fears and discomforts. Tensei calls Tenya once they arrive, to tell him about Toshinori’s condition, but when his older brother answers, his voice cracks. Hizashi shoves himself into Aizawa’s shoulder and refuses to move; Aizawa lets him, without any play at objection. When Nemuri takes one look at their friend and clutches Yu and Shinji’s hands hard enough to leave marks, they let her. The graduated class of 1-A lean on each other for support, but their eyes are only for Toshinori.

Naomasa comes in next, followed by Nana and Gran Torino. They’re grim, the three of them, and Nao looks like he’s yanking all his worry and panic and fear back by it’s damn teeth so it isn’t plastered all over his face. Deku takes one look at the kid (he isn’t really but everyone is a kid to Deku, they always will be) and pulls him under one arm, then levels a sweeping look at the rest of them and opens his other, which is as good an invitation as any.

Even in old age, his arms are sturdy and feel like home.

That night it’s like they’re in UA again, piling onto the chairs and leaning on each other as they settle in to sleep. They’re all loathe to leave him alone right now, when he’s still in such a delicate state, but that’s not a possibility, not anymore; they have jobs, duties, obligations. Things they can’t leave to others to do for them, not for long. Tonight, though, tonight they’ll stay. They’ll stand guard and refuse to leave him alone, because they’re heroes, yes, but this is what they want to do as friends, as family, and they’ll come back as long as they’re needed.

(And later, after days and a week of worry, of fear, of regular visits and quiet words exchanged in the silence they cannot stand, Toshinori pulls through, and wakes up for the first time. He will laugh and joke at the twenty-five faces he wakes up to, say “you didn’t think All Might would go down that easily, did you?”

They’re too busy jostling each other in joy, and crying (just a bit, they swear, but it isn’t), and repeating, over and over, “i’m glad you woke up”, not actually in those words exactly. There’s far more swearing and hugs and affectionately barbed phrases than entirely necessary, but that’s alright.
